Starting point is 00:03:00 season three preview here with Mr. Traders. Here he is. Puglia's name is Killy Puglia. How are you today? I'm always doing well, Rob. I'm so excited. We're going to have a fun season together and we're already starting it off great, so can't complain. Okay. Well, we today are going to be talking about another one of the survivors that is coming back and that is the three-timetime uh survivor uh legend jeremy collins is uh i was very surprised when jeremy collins was in the cast of the traders i had not heard his name rumored uh to be about it and we're about to see him play in the trader season three and here with
Starting point is 00:03:38 us to talk about all things jeremy collins it's scally sc, how are you? Hello. Hello. I'm so good. I'm so excited to be here with the both of you and especially talking about a really inspired choice, I think, in Jeremy for the Traders. All right. This is very fun. Now, Scali, I know you are a huge Natalie Anderson expert. I didn't know you were such a Jeremy Collins expert too. I have been a day one Jeremy boy. I was full in on the Jeremy winner edit, which was definitely cut short obviously on his first time.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Held true the second at least. But so I was definitely always a Jeremy fan. He is super high up there on my list of favorite survivors and I truly thought we would never get to see him again anywhere. So I am so excited to be back here talking about it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:31 Pouya, this is fun. This is such a fun time. I agree with Scali. I think this is a great choice to have on the show. I agree with you that I also didn't expect to see him. And Jeremy was my number one, my favorite winner, basically, I think. Wow. to see him. And Jeremy was my number one, my favorite winner, basically, I think even up until now. Yeah. Jam Jam kind of started poking some holes in that maybe or make me reconsider, but
Starting point is 00:04:51 he's still up there for me. He's such so good. Cambodia is one of my favorite seasons, as you know. So I'm very happy to see him on our screens once again. OK, well, we're going to get into all things Jeremy. Of course, this is day four of our Traders Season 3 Preview Series. We've got the first few Survivor and Big Brother people that are going to be playing here in the main feed. But if you want to go all the way through the Traders premiere coming up, Puya is going to take you every single day here, just about, with some holidays taking off. Up until the Traders premiere, you're going to want to make sure you get all things Traders in our Traders podcast feed at weknowtraders.com. All right, so here comes Jeremy.
Starting point is 00:05:38 And I am very familiar with Jeremy's first season because I've just rewatched it, Scali, with Josh Wigler. We just went back. It's been 10 years since Survivor, San Juan del Sur, and Jeremy and Val first hit our television screens. A top five season of Survivor. And Jeremy is a big reason why he's so fun for the time that we get to spend with him there. And I think that it was very clear to a lot of people. This was very good casting in both jeremy and pal frankly yeah um he plays in the second blood versus water season and really uh scott as you mentioned is uh like set up to be the protagonist of that story up until the point that he is uh so rudely taken out of the game uh and then natalie ends up with this revenge arc yeah he steps up
Starting point is 00:06:27 right away looking to do a hero challenge immediately in redemption in the uh the duels of it all at the beginning but that continues all the way through his boot episode he is out in front not willing to sit back and i am excited to see if that's the Jeremy we get here or if he takes, you know, a little bit of his future strategy. Okay. So for anybody that maybe is just coming to Survivor a little bit more in the new era or is somebody who's a Traders fan but doesn't necessarily know all of the Survivor stuff, I guess let's just set up like Jeremy's personality. Skylar, how would you describe Jeremy as a person? I think Jeremy is super fun. He is super likable, super charismatic, but also is maybe sometimes a little too enthusiastic to play the game. Maybe we'll tell you what he's thinking and we'll,
Starting point is 00:07:21 you know, maybe make a move a little too early at times as well. Yeah. Pouya, I think that's another part of Jeremy is that, you know, I think that people love Jeremy. Jeremy has a ton of riz. People love being around Jeremy. But also then Jeremy can get like a little annoyed with some of the other contestants on the shows that he's on. Oh yeah. We love Jeremy and we love when Jeremy has to deal with people that are dumb
Starting point is 00:07:51 because if they're being dumb, he's gonna let us, the audience deal with a lot. Yeah. He's not going to shy away ever. Yeah, exactly. Everyone loves Jeremy and Jeremy does not love everyone for sure.
Starting point is 00:08:04 Yeah. Um, and he's had to deal with like frustrating people in certainly in his first season. I mean, he's on a tribe with with Drew Christie. He didn't always see eye to eye with the late, great Keith Nail, you know, John and Alec and Wes and, you know, Reed and Josh. And, you know, he's dealing with all these guys, uh, back in Survivor San Juan del Sur and, you know, all the way through, um, you know, for the most part in Survivor's Second Chances, uh, everybody mostly wanted to work with Jeremy that, uh, there weren't too many frustrating, uh, moments for him, maybe other than Kimmy trying to turn her back on him.
Starting point is 00:08:47 But then certainly in Winners at War, a lot of frustrating things for Jeremy to deal with. How do you think that Jeremy is going to handle this game of betrayal? I'm very curious. I do think that Jeremy could be very frustrated by someone not voting how he thinks that they may end up going. I think that he is going to be set up very well. I think in particular, I could see like the housewives loving Jeremy. And I think that like things could start out great, but not all of these people are great. Not all of these people are great game players is what my expectation. So I think when he's surrounded by, let's say, about seven to 13 Keith Nails, he might get a little frustrated. Yeah. You have looked at this cast a lot more closely and we'll get into more detail about his relationship with Rob and Tony. But in terms of like the field that do you feel like that there are a lot of people here that will be Jeremy's type of people? Now, Jeremy's type of people is an interesting question to ask me, because the reality is that is where some clashes could be.
Starting point is 00:09:57 But I think Jeremy will always make it look like they're his people. And I think that's his biggest asset. Because I think Jeremy and there's someone else that I will get to later on in the previews down the line, I see Jeremy as a bit of a universal hub. Kind of like, you know, everyone can plug in with him. And I think he works great with them. And I think also to take into consideration,
Starting point is 00:10:20 I think he kind of got blessed with the people from Survivor that he's been put on the show with. I feel like he's going to, by proxy, in my opinion, slide right on in and just get along with hella people. Okay. Well, that's interesting. That wasn't what I thought you were going to say, because I thought you were going to reference the fact that of the, you know, the three Survivor men that are here in Rob and Jeremy and Tony, all from Winners at War. But I do feel like that, you know, Jeremy, I think is like his claim to fame on Survivor. I think that he really like perfected the having a lot of shields in front of him
Starting point is 00:10:55 in Survivor Second Chances. And I do think that of those three survivor players that I think, but both of those guys are going to be like much bigger, juicier targets, uh, for either to be voted out or to be murdered by the trainers. Yeah, absolutely. A hundred percent. That's exactly how I think it would play out as well, which is why I think he's well-situated because, and you know, Scali earlier said, will we see Sam on Del Sur Jeremy, or are we going to see more of his later game? I think we're going to see more of his later game, which he's shown to be his biggest asset,
Starting point is 00:11:29 something that he's perfected. Yeah. Now, Jeremy has had some famous allies in his survivor games. I wonder if, you know, he probably won't find another Natalie in this cast. But do you think that there is, Scali, somebody who could be a Natalie for him? I definitely think that there's potential here. Yeah, I do think that he could pick up some of these people. I look at, like, potentially a Gabby from The Bachelor, a Ciara from Summer House. Someone that I think that he can pick up pretty easily outside of the people that you probably assume he would work because i will say knowing jeremy a little bit um that he i he is not he he's a big sports fan he is not watching a lot and maybe he did some studying before he
Starting point is 00:12:16 went back and played but he does not know any of these bravo people from a hole in the wall no i would be very shocked you know i don't know like how big of a bravo fan val is uh but i'm not guessing it's in jeremy's usual rotation maybe on at the household though he has a couple daughters also yeah maybe um now also puya jeremy worked very closely with um our friend steven fishback back in in Survivor Second Chances. And Stephen was a good ally for Jeremy. They worked together really well. Is there a Fishback type out there? First of all, you cannot replicate a Fishback, okay? You work with Fishback and Spencer. Yeah. Well, I will say, Rob, looking at this cast, I don't think there's a Fishback type,
Starting point is 00:13:08 but I think if the two Universal hubs find each other in him and Wells Adams, I feel like that could be a very fun partnership to watch play out. I feel like Wells is also very palatable socially, and I think that him combined with Jeremy's charm and then Jeremy's strategic insight, that could be a good duo. Tell me about Wells Adams, because I don't know who that is. So I have gotten to become familiar with Wells Adams, thanks to doing these podcasts.
Starting point is 00:13:32 And from what I have gathered, he was on The Bachelor, but then he ended up being on Bachelor in Paradise for one season. And then, Rob, he took over the role of bartender at Bachelor in Paradise for one season. And then, Rob, they took him, he took over the role of bartender at Bachelor in Paradise. He basically would not only serve them drinks and talk to the contestants and stuff, but then he would also narrate and do confessionals
Starting point is 00:13:57 and read upon what they were doing. So he just seems like a very easy person to get along with and very easy to talk to, which I think is very good for a game like this. I see him in this red shirt. I feel like he looks like a young Papa John. I do not think he's got Papa John tendencies, I will say. I don't think. No. No? It is interesting, though, that the red shirt took you to Papa John and not, like, State Farm.
Starting point is 00:14:25 He doesn't look like Jake from State Farm, I'll tell you that. Yo, you know what we said? He kind of looks like a young Dr. Will a little bit. Oh, okay. Yeah. All right. Well, check out our Dandi previews coming up soon as well for more on that. So it's a new year.
Starting point is 00:14:46 You know what that means, setting big goals. Maybe you promised yourself you're going to hit the gym every day, or maybe you said you're going to learn to make fire with a flint for once, or the classic save more money. But let's be honest. Now, Carolyn's here. He's never played with Carolyn. I'm sure he's seen her season.
Starting point is 00:17:13 And so, you know, they may be meeting for the first time at the Trader's Manor. But Jeremy played with both Jeremy. I'm sorry, with both Tony and Rob in Winners Award. Let's start with Rob, because I think that's the the the easier one to unpack. Scali, what do we remember about Jeremy's relationship with Rob? So Jeremy and Rob have always seemed to have a pretty good relationship, despite Rob making what i think is one of his bigger survivor mistakes ever in voting out natalie first blindsiding jeremy it seemed like they still maintained a pretty good working relationship on winners at war and so i think that we should expect them probably to work together at this point yeah um puya, Pouya that, uh, Jeremy, of course, uh, from the Boston area, of course,
Starting point is 00:18:08 uh, that Boston Rob, uh, famously number one Patriots fan. So I do think that there is like a lot in common for Jeremy and Boston Rob. I mean, you mentioned a big on the sports and they both come from the same area. I mean, this is, they're going to want to work together. I do think also for Rob, he's going to need all of them to stick around at least a little bit at the beginning. I feel like you until you know what your connections are with other people, you got to keep the people, you know, it's safety in numbers. And we know this. Rob does love him buddy. So right there. OK. I think the more complicated relationship is Jeremy and Tony. Now, Jeremy and Tony, uh, they have been sort of like intertwined back from Scali. It was 2014 when we had survivor Kagi on in the spring and survivor San Juan del Sur in the
Starting point is 00:19:00 fall. And, uh, back to when both of them were nominated for Mr. Survivor, if you can remember all the way back to 2015. And, uh, after that, uh, battle, they end up on the Island together in Survivor winners at war. And they had a pretty decent relationship, uh, together up until the point that Tony really, uh really flipped the script on Jeremy. And Jeremy did not appreciate that. No, very much not. I think Jeremy does not love feeling like the wool was pulled over his eyes. And I think Jeremy and Tony working decently together until Jeremy ultimately does get voted out with Tony being one of three votes to send him out of the game.
Starting point is 00:19:44 Yeah. does get voted out with Tony being one of three votes to send him out of the game. Yeah. And I think that there were some, uh, hard feelings there towards, uh, like, I think that, uh, the, uh, Tony and Sarah and Ben, like, uh, I think that they, uh, and Denise, uh, like, I think that Jeremy was like frozen out in a way, uh, from that point in the game. Yeah, definitely. He did not have a very many inroads left at that point. I think that he was kind of backed into a corner, unfortunately, in a way that he did not appreciate. Yeah. So Pouya, how do we think that Jeremy and Tony is basically like, hey, let's leave that back in Fiji. We got a new game to figure out. Or do you think that there could be payback on
Starting point is 00:20:22 Jeremy's mind? Listen, I think out the gate, of course, that's going to be the offer on the table, right? Again, they need each other. They want to keep each other. But we Jeremy's story on Survivor begins with a team payback. We're getting the lick back on Nadia going out. Then Natalie goes out here. I think Jeremy knows a thing or two about getting some revenge and and i have to imagine he's gonna play his game as optimally as he can but that's gonna be on the
Starting point is 00:20:51 back of his mind can you really get revenge on traitors i mean no not really because oh especially if you do not suspect someone to be a traitor uh you're kind of gonna have to blow some social capital just get rid of a fellow faithful if that's the situation but at the end of the day yes getting someone banished is still payback uh you can still count that as payback uh it just depends on if you're the one throwing the name out because i feel like if half the house like you know it's tony tony gotta go jeremy's gonna potentially throw a vote there. I wouldn't classify that as him cooking the revenge up, but he's in on it, you know? You know, but Scali, we saw Parvati and Sandra
Starting point is 00:21:31 come into Trader Season 2. We're like, oh, okay, here we go. It's the few. But then, you know, I don't know if there's a peppermint in this house that could bring these guys back together. Maybe it's Boston Rob, maybe it's Carolyn. But do you think that maybe that they could get back on the same page? I could see them getting
Starting point is 00:21:48 back on the same page. Definitely at least initially. The thing is, I think that whether it's for revenge or to firmly solidify this relationship, I think both of them specifically Tony need to last long enough for that move to ultimately get pulled. But I think that Jeremy, you know,
Starting point is 00:22:03 they say you play like the winner of your season. Take that from Natalie. Like, okay, she takes revenge when Jeremy gets voted out. Go ahead, like, wait your time. I think that he can either bide his time or firmly, like, make the correct relationship with Tony. Scali, are there any moments from Jeremy's three-season arc that stand out in your mind as things that might be, uh, impactful for
Starting point is 00:22:27 how we should think about Jeremy on the traders. Ooh. Um, I'm trying to think off the top of my head. I mean, uh, famously, uh, Jeremy wanted to surround and drown. Uh, that was uh that his plan that uh he wanted to execute on with natalie to uh get alec christie to come over to vote with him uh that do you think that uh that could be brought back out i could see it i could see these survivors definitely going out and making their own relationships in order to isolate maybe some of the non-gamers i do think jeremy is uh pretty savvy in that way all right puya it's probably a chalk pick that one of the survivors is going to be a traitor is that fair to say i feel like given what we have seen on any of the franchises i think that's a good assumption to make that at least if not a survivor, want a survivor or big brother.
Starting point is 00:23:31 But I do think based on the cast they've put together for survivor, I will give you 90% odds. Okay. Do you think that Jeremy is a likely pick to be the traitor? I would love that i think if you're making jeremy the pick you're doing the well they're gonna assume it's one of these other folks and he gets to secretly be the actual traitor because i think that of the four of them i would rank jeremy probably third which means that i'm assuming it's going to be a boston or Tony trader pick, but I would personally love it as Jeremy because of the fact that you wouldn't expect that. You wouldn't expect it.
Starting point is 00:24:10 Scalia, how do you think that Jeremy would be as a trader? I think he would be pretty good. I don't think people would see him coming. I think a lot of people think that the like very open, likable guy doesn't necessarily have much behind there. I think we've seen that on a couple other iterations of the traitors that, you know, a fun personality really can disguise a much more devious underturn. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:32 I hope Jeremy's not the traitor. I do agree. I think he would be good. I don't think that they would suspect him, but I feel like I want to see Jeremy pissed that they voted out the wrong person. They didn't listen to him getting, getting pissed off at the breakfast. Let's say, see, I knew, I knew it. You didn't listen to me.
Starting point is 00:24:50 Like, I feel like that, uh, that's the Jeremy I want to see back on the traders. Yeah. The best confessionals will come from anger or frustration at the others. And we have seen time and time again, you don't get better reactions than when the round table goes sideways and you vote out another faithful that would be great yeah um how do we think that uh jeremy is going to interact with carolyn i don't think it's going to be a match made in heaven. I think that he could get a little frustrated and I like, maybe it starts out okay, but I don't know that Jeremy loves emotional people. And I think that Carolyn like can play a great game, uh, where like with her emotions, but I don't know if Jeremy's going to see that right away. Yeah. I'm trying to think back to, um, the people that Jeremy has
Starting point is 00:25:42 worked with the best. Um, and you you know I feel like that uh I'd say Natalie is emotional but not necessarily like I feel like in the same way that uh Carolyn is and I feel like uh you know Steven is like much more logical Michelle he's worked with but Michelle's just like really just like a straight shooter? Yeah. Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, this could be an interesting because, again, with the Universal Hub, they can connect with different type of personalities. But this is a new challenger emerges. And do I do I know how it's going to look like? No, because I don't think we have seen anyone quite like her on the show.
Starting point is 00:26:21 So it's going to be brand new. But again, I feel optimistic that it's possible, especially when looking at the rest of the survivors. I think she's most likely to be connecting with Jeremy, if anything, of the three. Yeah, I think that Jeremy probably is the best equipped, I think, of the the three but we'll see what about of the uh the big brother people I feel like that Brittany Haynes I don't think she really follows uh Survivor but I do think that uh Danielle Reyes uh that she has said for a long time she
Starting point is 00:26:56 wants to be on Survivor I bet she loves Jeremy yeah I can definitely see that being a good working relationship and I think Danielle is much closer to someone that Jeremy would also try working with. Very analytical, very strategic and like methodical. Yeah. Maybe that could that be his Natalie or Fishback? I mean, listen, that is the pair I want. That is that would be a great pairing to see play this game together. Yeah, it's pretty good.
Starting point is 00:27:26 That'd be a pretty good pairing. Okay, how do we think Jeremy is going to do overall on the traders? I have high expectations for Jeremy. I feel like there's been even slightly more of a focus on let's keep people that are good at the challenges. I think there'll be no issue for Jeremy there, helping them gain money. I think that he is going to be like
Starting point is 00:27:47 just the right amount of we can throw suspicion on him if we need to so we don't necessarily need to murder him, but he's not necessarily gonna be poking his head up so high that he's gonna get voted out at an early round table. I think Jeremy is like a great pick to run deep. Yeah, I agree, Pouya.
Starting point is 00:28:03 I think that Jeremy, I totally could see him like heading into like the final ceremony. I 100% could see that as well. I also think Jeremy is a prime candidate for if he does end up being a faithful. I think he's a primo candidate to recruit to be on on your team in the conclave as a trader and the reason i think that is because again i think that we're gonna see somebody who is easy to get along with doesn't look like they're gonna be ruffling a lot of feathers and i think that's a juicy person to bring forward of course that's if you're considering someone to be a teammate and not just someone you throw to the wolves immediately so i think in that that regard, he's good. I think my biggest worry is Jeremy being a early murder to like cast
Starting point is 00:28:50 confusion or whatever, potentially I could see that being a direction that goes. But even then, if there is a survivor in that turret, you're not going to want to murder a fellow survivor because then people are like, well, that leaves three of them.
Starting point is 00:29:04 One of them's the traitor. You don't want that. You want to keep him as long as possible. So I also feel very good about his odds. Yeah, that's a good point. All right. Very fun to see Jeremy back on television. Did not have that on my bingo card coming into this next season of the traders. Scali, anything else you want to add about Jeremy from 10 years of Jeremy on television? Oh my God, there's so much, but no,
Starting point is 00:29:28 I'm just really excited. I do worry that there's like always that chance he's seen as like the figurehead of a faithful alliance. But overall, I think Jeremy's great. I think that we're going to have a ton of fun regardless of how this goes with him. And,
Starting point is 00:29:40 uh, more picks like these, please. Okay. What about for you? Any other thoughts on Jeremy? No, I am just very happy. This is the kind of casting that makes Traders the show,
Starting point is 00:29:51 has made Traders become the show that it is with the reputation it has. Because Jeremy is someone who is not only a great player, but great television and someone you wouldn't expect to see because he isn't, I feel like he is in the middle era, which kind of gets lost in the shuffle a little bit. So it's great to see that they have eyes over there and to see him play again will be great. I'm very pumped.
Starting point is 00:30:13 Please don't get rid of him early because I'll be very sad. Okay. All right. Well, we talked about Jeremy today.
