Elon Musk has officially offered to buy Twitter for $43 billion in cash.
In cash.
He bought like 10% a 9, 10% stake.
Sure.
Like a week and a half ago.
And everybody's like, hmm, now he's trying to do a takeover.
He's been hitting me of an eccentric billion.
Like just.
He is.
He is.
So meta, i.e. Facebook, is testing monetization tools for creators on its VR platform.
It allows creators to.
to make money by selling digital assets and experiences within its virtual reality platform.
Yes.
Marketing on podcast.
It's so interesting.
Way up.
Like,
bu,
billions is what they're talking about in the next,
like,
five years.
You're listening to the radcast.
If it's radical,
we cover it.
Here's your host,
Ryan Alford.
Hey, guys.
What's up? Welcome to the latest edition of the rad. Radcast.
We're back.
Rad Rad, rad cast. Friday.
April 15.
It's good Friday.
Good Friday.
2022.
Christina Yossi, welcome to the show.
In the flash.
Hey, just me and you, baby.
I know.
I know.
We, you know, Joe's a little under the weather.
Yes, unfortunately.
You know, nothing too serious.
We didn't want him in a tight studio breathing on it.
us. Yeah, no. So we hope Joe feels better, but I'm excited to have you here today. It's going to be good.
It's going to be good. To talk a little more. Yes. And I get the comfy seat and the better microphone. I know. Like, you want you to go there. I have a hat this week. I feel like I'm really part of the team. You are. We're going to get to the hats shortly. But it's been a good week. You had a good week. I have. Hey, taking on a new role. I am. Lots of training and, you know, sort of. Sort of training.
Sort of learning. Is osmosis a thing?
Not in this situation, but stay tuned.
Yes.
Lots of opportunities.
I'll just say that.
Literally.
Lots of opportunities.
It's our weekly marketing and advertising news edition.
Hope everyone's had a great week out there.
Happy Easter.
Good Friday.
Happy whatever you celebrate.
Yeah.
And my kids did the Easter Bunny thing last weekend.
Did you go to the mall?
No.
Okay.
I was like yikes.
Hiding of the eggs.
There was no actual bunny.
Okay, good.
I mean, I may have hopped around a little bit, but I am no bunny.
But my kids are getting older, but man, God bless my wife.
Like, she has these traditions with the boys.
Every year, they're 12, 11, 10, and 5, or 6 now.
Now she's just turned 6.
And, you know, we've had these traditions and they were younger.
And now we still do them like decorating the eggs.
Yeah.
She boils the eggs.
They do that.
I'm like, are they going to not like this?
They still get into it.
They love it.
Oh, yeah.
And so God bless her.
And she had the eggs.
Do you do the resurrection eggs?
Like my mom had like the resurrection story with the little eggs.
We keep it more about the decorating.
You know, we do have a very religious family.
And we get a lot of that throughout the weekend, this weekend especially.
Sure.
It's all good.
But we keep the egg.
You keep the Easter to the pastel.
Just about who can decorate the best.
That's purely about how much candy can be found.
Do you hide money in the eggs?
Oh, yes.
That's what you should.
Money and candy that I actually, I don't like it because I've been eating it all week.
That's my problem.
I've been like, I won't buy the Easter baskets.
I'm like, mm.
What's your favorite?
Pop-a-won.
There's Cadbury chocolate eggs.
I mean, you know, like, come on.
Dear God.
It's like.
The Reese's eggs.
And I love peeps.
Do you like peeps?
No.
I feel like no one likes them, but me.
No, that would be hitting my button if it worked.
I'm still going to hit it.
Read my lips.
No.
No peeps.
Hashtag no peeps out there.
Let us know if you're a peeped person or not.
It's a love of hate, obviously.
People who are love them or hate them.
Right.
And I do not like them.
God, they're so much.
Is it marshmallow?
What is it?
Yes, marshmallows covered in sugar.
Oh, God.
They're the worst things for your teeth.
Yes.
It's fine.
No, but those cats are.
I'm sorry, chocolate eggs, man, are you kidding?
You give me a bag of those.
I'm like, and I'm not even normally that, like, you know, I can kind of stay away from it.
Like, I kind of go in these stretches.
I'm either, like, really into it or out of it and usually out of it.
But, man, when those eggs come around, I'll eat a whole damn bag of those things.
I'm like, okay, these are good, right?
It's just 1,500 cowers.
It's all good.
As long as you don't count it doesn't count, right?
They've got to work that off.
The candy shell.
I mean, and like the best chocolate ever.
It makes an M&M like need to take a hike.
Right.
Right.
And I love an M&M.
I'm just,
if those cabberry,
if those eggs are out all season,
I would be 350 pounds.
Right.
Or you'd get used to them and never want them again.
Maybe.
I don't know.
Those things are delicious.
But kids had a good time finding Easter eggs.
And now we're on to the more religious side of the weekend coming up.
But it's all good.
We've had a good week.
We had Allison Forency.
Camera IQ was on this week.
I hope everyone saw that episode, either on YouTube or IGTV or listened on any of the plethora of channels.
Wherever you get your podcast.
Next week, the host of The Bachelor, Jesse Palmer.
I know I can't believe it.
The Bachelor, Jesse Palmer.
Yes, he's out.
He's on.
We've already recorded.
That releases on Tuesday.
Jesse was awesome.
It was actually really insightful about his background, his approach.
Yeah.
his time on the bachelor and really how he kind of i don't know embraces like all these opportunities
he doesn't like take himself too serious and you can't if you're part of that franchise you know i mean
he was in the i mean he was a legit college at nfl quarterback and then you know ended up being
on the batts being a bachelor like 15 16 years ago yeah and then end up now the host following
chris harrison which was an impossible task because he's so iconic with the show
Chris Harrison.
I liked Chris Harrison, too.
Like, you know, guilty pleasure.
My wife and I watched the show, and I'm like...
It's so addictive.
Yeah.
And Tyler Cameron was in Greenville this past weekend.
He has, like, friends in the area.
That's cool.
Yeah.
People were texting me about it.
Someone texted me to gather, and I was like, listen.
Leave me out of this.
Yes.
You're staying out of it.
Leave me out of those.
But Jesse was awesome.
He's on next Tuesday.
Sweet.
5 a.m. on all the channels, you'll get to know him.
A couple of news things other than our normal news.
I thought were interesting.
Elon Musk has officially offered to buy Twitter for $43 billion in cash.
In cash?
B, but,
billion.
I can't even wrap my mind around that.
So, yeah, he bought like 10% a 9, 10% stake.
Sure.
Like a week and a half ago.
And everybody's like, hmm, now he's trying to do a takeover.
He's the epitome of an eccentric billion.
Like, just.
He is.
But he says he's trying to do it for the right reason.
He's trying to reopen up free speech.
which I support.
Oh,
I'd love for...
Because what's happened with all these, you know, algorithms is...
And I understand, like, okay...
It's a too much sword.
It's a too large sword.
Keeping terrorists from, like, you know, organizing gangs on these platforms.
Okay, I get it.
Right.
But...
Propaganda.
But let's be honest.
It's leaked further and further into, you know, whether you're right or left and
drowning out whatever side you aren't in agreement with.
Exactly.
And it just isn't really the...
intent of these platforms. And it doesn't inform anyone if all you're doing is consuming media that
constantly supports your own opinion. So he wants to open it up and be truly a free speech platform.
It'll be interesting if he actually gets purchased. I thought this was like kind of funny on the
tail end. Jack Dorsey, who was the original founder of Twitter. And this kind of goes with some
overall NFT news. NFTs are like down incredibly this year. You know, the fads fading a little bit.
And I don't, the fad of buying inflated artwork, NFTs as a science and as the technology, I believe in, as I've stated regularly.
But the inflated artwork stuff.
But his first tweet, however, that was actually made into an NFT, was listed at $48 million in an auction.
What was the tweet?
Because I was trying to find what it wasn't.
And now, I guess because it's private property.
I don't know.
But it's still on Twitter, supposedly.
So if you go to Jack Dorsey, go to his feed and his first, you know, scroll for seven years.
Yeah, let me know that goes.
I'm not that curious.
When you find it, let me know.
Take a screenshot.
Perfect.
Right.
Surely you can just Google like screenshot Jack Dorsey's first tweet.
But, you know, after being, the person bought it for like five or six million bucks, like 18 months ago.
And he listed it thinking he was going to get like $48 million.
And the high bid was $280.
I was like, oh my God.
Yeah, here we go.
It was like I heard the bubble bursting.
Yeah, the glass.
The air would help.
In the comments, the guy that owns it was like, yeah, I'm not worried about it.
It's going to go back up.
I bought it for the long term.
I'm like, yeah, sure you do.
Yeah, okay.
I've got a tweet for the long term.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So again, be careful out there, folks, with your NFT artwork.
Follow your gut, not the fad.
Yeah, no.
I have to say.
Yeah, so we'll see how that comes about.
I am enjoying your hat.
Yeah, and you copied me today.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We all have hats on that kind of look alike.
I'm proving that they're unisex.
You are.
And it sort of matches the, is that leopard print?
It is leopard print.
Yeah.
Okay, leopard print dress.
Yes.
Very stylish with the Radcast hat.
Radcast hats from our official apparel sponsor of the
Radcast branded bills
branded bills.com
again Radcast 20 get 20%
off and they're great quality I can
see speak to them right yeah I mean
it's a quality hat right there we'll check my hat
hair afterwards we got V2 coming in next
week I believe of the hat so
second edition sweet
the great thing about brandadbills.com
amazing quality and I was
going through like their catalog looking through stuff
they got all kinds of like state
sponsored hats that have all these designs
that are pretty cool they do a lot of things with both
the apparel and the hats.
The cool thing about the apparel is it's not,
and I've said this before,
like they're kind of fitted.
It's got a little bit more stylish feel to it.
It's not just baggy, you know, oversized.
Not just like a copy and paste.
Yeah, you know, cheap cotton t-shirt.
Yes.
And so I need to go check them out.
They've got custom orders.
You can upload your logo and get anything you want.
Not as cool as these Radcast hats.
Let's be honest, but you can get a close second.
You can get a Radcast hat.
Yes.
So exactly. Hey, if you mentioned us, hey, I'll do this. If you, if you tag me or DM me,
Radcast 20, I'll send you a free Radcast hat. There you go. There it is. And then post a picture
wearing it. See? Let us see it. These lovely ones right here. If you're listening, you can't see this,
but they're here in my hands and we'll send them to you. But go check out our great sponsors,
brandedbills.com, use Radcast20. Tell them the show sent you. So cool. We got
We got a few social holidays that just, obviously it's Easter.
I didn't want to really go overboard with this.
Let's let.
We still have some wild ones, though.
Yes, let's let the important ones sing through.
But there was a few that just could not be ignored.
Right.
It's National glazed Spiral Ham Day.
Today, April 15th.
Wow.
And isn't Ham like an Easter?
Isn't that a thing?
I guess.
I just thought it was back to like Thanksgiving time.
Same.
You know, like maybe a week before Thanksgiving.
Ham.
Glazed spiral ham day.
Such a specific way to prepare it too.
It's not just ham day.
Only glazed and only spiral.
Yes, but no other ham
will be had today.
Alas.
Yes.
Alas.
Yeah, and you know, I'm glad this is on here
because I'm really going to get caught up.
It's National Laundry Day.
That's good.
I'm really bad.
I will just leave clean laundry in the dryer
and never put it away just live out of my dryer.
Yeah.
And lastly, today, National Take a Wild Guest.
Wow, you almost got me with that one.
I almost wildly guessed and then I realized, wait.
I mean, like, a wild guess, what?
Like, I don't know.
Just take a wild guess.
Like, every day I wake up and the day is a wild guest.
Yeah.
So go play the mega millions.
Yeah.
And just take a wild fucking guess.
You just might win.
And, you know, mainly the reason I didn't completely box out the social holidays is because really,
one of the most important ones is on Saturday.
Yes.
The 16th.
It's husband appreciation.
There you go.
Honey.
Just wanted to make sure you were aware of that.
And you got like grab ass day last week and now you have husbands
appreciation days.
I don't appreciate those husbands out there.
Just saying.
And if she listened to the show, maybe we'd get some appreciation.
Does she go ahead.
Does she not listen to the show?
Oh, no.
She'll listen to a little bit, but I think she is kind of.
My friends listen to the show.
Oh, I'll see.
There you go.
Yeah, but I bet your husband won't.
Right, yeah, he doesn't exist yet.
Oh, you know.
He'd be like a, my wife's like kind of, I don't know, she's not a podcast listener.
She gets in the car, she's limited there.
She's no time.
Like, in the car, she wants to, like, jam some rap or something.
I'm serious.
So it's also National Eggs Benedict Day on Saturday.
So I love Eggs Benedict, so I had to.
mention it. And lastly, you know, Sunday's Easter, so none of these other ones really matter at all.
But I think they just randomly fell because Easter's not on the same day every day.
And National Cheeseball Day. So, uh, it's a fun addition to an Easter basket. Joe,
Joe will be celebrating. We should get him some cheese pops. Mr. Cheeseball.
Yeah. Are you having cheese balls, Nick on Saturday on Sunday?
Your Easter, Easter lunch. Now you should. Yes. Yes. I have a side.
I know.
So there's your social holidays that you can't miss.
Moving into our true news here.
Yes.
Christina.
I've got some big news on the Metaverse.
And, you know, we get cynical, but I thought some of these were pretty interesting.
So Meta, i.e. Facebook, is testing monetization tools for creators on its VR platform.
It allows creators to make money by selling digital assets and experiences within its virtual
reality platform.
Yes.
This is real money, right?
Yeah, the monetization tools will initially be available to a handpick set of users
who are creating virtual classes, games, and fashion accessories within the platform,
and then expanding from there.
So you put on the goggles, the meta, Facebook, Oculus goggles, whatever, you know,
they got so many names now.
And you get into their meta, they're, you know,
somewhat limited VR space right now.
And then essentially you could sell stuff in there.
So the one people are there.
So you can sell virtual classes.
That's kind of cool.
Games and fashion accessories.
So the fashion accessories is a little bit of a disconnect from everything else.
Right.
Kind of get the classes and the games.
And I understand, I guess the fashion accessories are for your avatar while you're taking
class.
You want to be the best looking kid in that virtual class.
Hell yeah, you do.
I'm on my Gucci and my virtual class.
Virtual yoga class.
So we'll see.
But that's coming out.
Meta also is getting kind of some shit for adding a 47.5% fee on Metaverse items.
And Twitter's pissed.
Rightfully so.
I wonder if Elon will swoop in and do something about this.
It said for every item sold, 30% cut goes to meta.
via the Oculus platform and 25% of the remaining goes to the meta app store.
Is that because that's a dumb question probably,
but I'm assuming that's because that's how they have to fund it.
Like it's not just them being overly greedy.
Like I would assume this is a very expensive technology.
Yes.
That's exactly it.
And that's what people don't quite realize is all the 30 billion a year that Facebook's dumping into this slash meta.
that's going to be an old trick dying hard i'm just going to tell you facebook meta whatever the
the bio center will always be the bio center for me it will it's never going to be the well
the well even the well doesn't get their branding you know like right it's like bond secoursenor center
you name it to get the name here anyway i digress but uh yes they spent 30 billion dollars on
it so like okay you're going to have some fees now 50% seems pretty up there's
Right.
Yeah.
So we'll see how that shifts.
We'll see how that goes.
MasterCard has filed for 15 Metaverse NFT-related trademark applications.
So the credit card maker processor obviously sees NFTs in the Metaverse having, you know, staying power.
Yeah.
Well, and Visa did this too, didn't they?
Like MasterCard's not the first one.
Yes.
They are in it.
MasterCard and Visa are kind of in a race to see who can get the most patents in the Metaverse.
So interesting.
Yes.
Says the company is also considering to open a marketplace for NFT trading where you're used to be able to sell or buy digital assets.
It's the USPTO, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, I know that because we filed a couple ourselves.
Spoilers.
Three words, four words I enjoy.
Providing entertainment and educational information in the fields of cultural.
events, concerts, sporting events, festivals, and award shows in the Metaverse and other digital
worlds.
The trademark highlights the use of cryptocurrency NFTs in the Metaverse.
No kidding.
Okay.
I think we got that.
So MasterCard just wants to make sure they get their 3%.
You know, they want their 2.9% on all transactions.
Yep.
That's kind of what all that boils down to.
Exactly.
Exactly.
Yeah.
All that jargon.
It's like actually.
Credit card fee.
in the Metaverse.
Yep.
So there it is.
You can never escape it.
I thought this was pretty cool.
Citizen M is building a hotel in the Metaverse.
Citizen M has announced plans to build a hotel in the Metaverse, which we set in the gaming world, the sandbox, and could eventually become a real-life location.
That's kind of fun.
Yeah.
So these are digital pieces of real estate backed by NFTEs on which players can build.
self-contained environments that can be visited by other users.
Not unlike on Roblox where Nike and other brands have built these platforms,
and I've actually played in them with my kids, with my kids.
Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
Yes.
You know.
And so I think I can't keep up with every platform, but the sandbox is where they're building Citizen M-Hodel.
Can your avatars die?
Is that way they need housing?
It's funny you say that.
You know, there's actually an article that didn't make our list that I thought was talking about.
You can get criminally charged for damaging or hurting other people's avatars.
There's like something floating around.
Obviously, it's speculative and all this.
Sure.
They didn't want people killing other avatars.
Like, they're being laws with, you know, that.
Because you know there'd be some people going around like gang it up.
I'm going to, you know, steal in your Gucci wallet.
That natural law, that is so interesting.
Oh, my God.
Yes.
But you'll be safe in the hotel, we hope.
Yeah.
I know.
Well, this is, the hotel group finally says, it plans to build a virtual hotel where
avatars can work, sleep, and play.
Oh.
You know.
My favorite activity.
It's so funny to me, though.
Like, my kids will be playing, what's the building game, the original?
one.
Minecraft.
Oh,
yeah.
Yeah.
I almost said
Minecraft.
They'll play that
for hours
still.
And they'll
put their people
to sleep.
They'll build
the houses.
And they'll
build,
they'll put beds in it.
And they will
put them to sleep.
And it's like
30, you know,
they get a,
that's what's bullshit.
These,
these avatars get a
good night's rest
in 30 minutes.
It takes us eight hours.
And even then,
that's not enough
sometimes.
Like, talk about,
yeah,
I'm going to sue them
for equal sleeping rights,
you know,
I'm going to sue
my avatar.
I mean,
He gets a good night dressed in like 30 seconds.
You're heightened jeans over here.
But it's just so funny to me because the kids love, like literally, they take it so serious.
They build their house and they build the bed.
And I'm like, what are y'all doing?
Oh, we're going to bed.
So I'm like, well, you don't even fucking want to go to bed at home.
Like, where is this responsibility?
I can never get your ass to bed.
Right, exactly.
Do you brush your teeth too?
What is this?
They put them in the bed and it goes dark on the screen for like, you know, 10 seconds.
It's not even 30 seconds.
And it's like, they're up and refreshed and they start building again.
They're getting their little roller coaster and ride up the thing.
They're building like all kinds of shit in that thing.
Unbelievable.
But what a life to lead.
We have,
but we do have Joel on our team,
his son built all kinds of radcast logos
and a duplicate of the office in Minecraft and Roblox.
So you can actually go into our office within Roblox.
We're in the Metamers.
We are in the Metameters.
We're not right now.
Right, right, right.
Wait, wait.
This is actually all part of the matrix here.
I'm not wearing an up tease.
Yeah.
But, you know, I get why they're doing it.
It's cool.
My kids put their avatars to sleep on freaking Minecraft.
So, uh, work, sleep, and play.
Hotel, um.
And you know what?
I bet you can get a wake-up call in that hotel, you know?
Probably.
Room service?
You follow me?
What would help?
What would help?
No telling what else is happening there.
Hey, the digital pets company launches crypto dogs for the Metaverse.
You knew this was coming.
I did.
It says it's launching AI-driven 3D digital dogs as companions for the Metaverse.
The dogs will be secured as non-fungible tokens, which can be used to authenticate unique digital items.
Exciting.
Like Nintendo dogs.
Yes.
So this startup is holding discussions with additional potential investment.
and allow the owners to interact with them across virtual reality worlds.
I've been in reality mobile so you can take your dog with you wherever you want to go.
Pets allowed everywhere.
Nintendo dogs will work well with NFTs.
That's what they're called.
That Nintendo.
Nintendo dogs.
Yeah, that was a game on the Nintendo DS.
Who let the Nintendo dogs out?
Or no.
But, you know, like,
I got to have a pet in the metaverse.
Like now it's like I've fought it off with my kids for like six years
and now I've got to get them a fucking dog in the Metaverse.
You know?
Easier to clean up after.
Yeah.
That hair gets everywhere though.
Let me tell you.
They got to be, every one of them will be hyperalienic.
Metaverse lint rollers.
Yes.
Meta lint rollers.
So are you going to get a dog in the Metaverse?
I would absolutely get a dog.
I probably get multiple dogs.
Yeah.
To be honest.
You know, they have to feed them?
like real food
like we don't need to feed them as much.
We're going to be buying real dog food
for you have like
I'm going to look at my credit card
next week Purina is going to be like
Hey what is this
300 Roblox points
Hey dad we had to feed the dog
We had to get groceries
And I got that new pair of Nike's
My avatar
I'm like the hell
Nothing to show for it
No you have to put your goggles on
To even get to it
You know like damn
Dog doesn't even like give you any love you know
Your avatar, wouldn't it?
I guess.
Absolute invites Coachella fans to meet in the Metaverse with the launch of Absolute Land.
I like this.
Marketing its 10th year is the official vodka of Coachella.
Absolute is extending the festival experience into the Metaverse with Absolute Land.
Oh, this must-see celebration is a convergence of art, fashion, music, and of course, cocktails.
Yes. Okay. I'm digging it. If I can go to Coachella and go put some goggles on and I can like sip on some vodka while I'm like tripping out in the metaverse.
Yeah, I think I'd rather be intoxicated in the metaverse. Yeah. A little safer. And I'm a lightweight. So I like to think my avatar would have to take more alcohol than I can.
Yeah, hopefully. You just don't want to get like roofied in the in the metaverse, you know, like it gets ugly.
That's true.
I mean, this is the shit that's like. But now we're going to have laws that protect from stuff like that.
I know, exactly.
It's like scary.
It's scary in the metaverse.
It's like, you know that there's going to be like people that start taking it so serious that like they're depressed and like they're, you're going to see stuff that you just never would have imagined.
And, you know, I don't know, maybe we're all going to be part of it.
Yeah, it's hard to know the line of like where do you take it seriously and where do you take it too seriously.
Like it really is kind of a blurred line.
Yeah.
As long as there's no wars in the metaverse, you know.
Right.
If we can avoid that.
There's going to be bad.
There's me gangs.
No hate.
No hate crimes, please.
No hate crimes.
Oh, God.
It's me like, oh,
Decentraland versus open world.
You come into my verse.
I'm going to kick your verse.
Like, it sounds stupid and crazy, but like,
it's not that.
When you read everything else is happening, it's not that far all.
Right, right, right.
It's like.
But there's vodka.
So we have that.
But once again, people, a reminder, it's another place to market.
Another place to advertise don't get overwhelmed by the technology.
Just think of it as another medium.
Social media came along.
Everybody said, oh, no, what do we do?
Right.
Now we market on that.
You're going to have to get in the Metaverse at some point.
We're just telling you what everyone's doing so you can have FOMO.
Trying to give you a head to start.
We're trying to generate FOMO in the Metaverse.
Fear of Missing Out of Brands.
Yeah, we'll see how it goes.
Zoom launches AI-powered features.
aimed at sales team.
At its World Transformational Summit, Zoom announced Zoom IQ for sales, a product that
uses AI to analyze sales meeting and deals to provide insights.
So it's going to make all the sales for you.
You can't just be on the Zoom call.
That's great.
This can't possibly have any issues.
Yeah, none at all.
Just using AI and robots and sales meeting and deals.
It's going to tell you how inefficient your meetings are.
There's a lot of time wasted on.
those Zoom calls. Let me tell you.
You get in there and it's like, this should have been an email.
Or you're just sitting here like on time staring at yourself like,
and when are they going to let me into the chat room?
Yeah, chat room.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Let me in.
The awkward moment.
Well, I'm ready.
I have my water.
I will say there's something empowering about that when I'm letting people and I'm like,
looking at the clock.
They're wanting to get in.
You're always the one that does the interview and I'm the one that's the one that
is the interview and I'm the one that's waiting like, please.
Turn you on.
And then, yes, get them in the room, and then sell them something.
My favorite part is the goodbye.
Like, all right, well, yep, this is great, thanks.
And then you're both trying to, like, exit out as soon as you possibly can.
Well, yes.
I just think we've gotten to, we have too many meetings.
They're too long.
I want to turn every meeting into, like, 10 to 15 minutes.
Yeah.
Speed meetings.
That's a new, that's a good, new app.
Like speed dating, but not.
Yeah, but speed meetings.
Like how do you get two hours back in your day?
Right.
Speed meetings.
There's your tip for the day on the radcast.
Send the better emails.
Every 30 minute meeting can be 15.
Every hour can be 30.
Prove me wrong.
I'm telling you it's true.
I agree with you.
Wholeheartedly.
So a little self-serving, but let's be honest.
Who isn't?
Right.
And IAB reports finds that digital audio defined as podcast and streaming for music and radio
had the largest year-over-year growth rating
compared to streaming video
and social media advertising.
So, marketing on podcasts.
Way up.
Like, but, bu, billions is what they're talking about
the next, like, five years.
Yeah, because I mean, there are certain podcasts I listen to
where I do skip, like, the ads in the middle.
But very rarely do I do that.
And I've used more coupon codes from podcasts than anything.
That's why you have to do what we do.
You don't do it at the same time every time.
Right.
We blend it into the storyline, too.
And we wrap our.
See, there's your note.
If you're listening, you're doing a podcast and you're treating your sponsors right,
you mix up when you do it and you mix it into the story a little bit.
Right. So it's not so jarring that, hey, hey,
right now, 99 for cable provider, you know, whatever it is.
You know, it doesn't feel like a commercial.
But it's a great, it's a great platform to advertise.
It is because there's so many.
It's actually, you know, I didn't get this in time.
I was like reading this right before we came in.
Sure.
For women.
And podcasts are up like 400%.
It's up for everyone.
Right.
But like it's skewing like double for women.
Oh, I, my friends and I love podcasts.
Yeah.
Love them.
So, but everyone's favorite, the radcast.
Hell yeah.
This is news we like to like to share people.
Podcast marketing.
Hey, if you want to be a sponsor of the show, reach out anytime.
You get in all the sales like Brandon Bills.
and getting those intermediate injections of marking
where you don't know what's coming
so that people don't fast forward.
That's throw you off your rhythm.
Yeah, exactly.
All right, this I think was everyone's favorite.
Nick laughed a little bit for the first time ever.
Iris Spring designed a shower that allows users
to get clean without taking a break from playing video games.
So you can shower while playing video games.
The effort supports a new body wash line featuring
a refreshed brand look.
The Irish Spring,
nice-smelling gaming shower
is a pod,
partially encased in plexiglass
with a seat molded on gaming chairs.
And it has vegetation.
An overhead display allows users
to continue gaming while going
through a 20 to 30-minute cleaning cycle
with a rinse, lather, and massage.
The plexiglass opens a view
of a surrounding terrarium
rife with vegetation.
I would just be like a lizard.
Like, just in my little bowl.
This, you got to see the image of this to really appreciate how, how ridiculous it is and how wonderful it is at the same time.
It's like something out of midsummer.
It really is.
Like, you know, like, get your ass off the damn game and go take a shower.
Well, and wouldn't you, like, to not get too specific with it, you'd still take your clothes off, I imagine.
Or you'd.
One would think.
So you're naked playing the gaming.
Hanging out there.
Right.
Yeah.
Okay.
So vulnerable.
Eh.
You know, as long as you're not.
not like live video.
You know, like if it's just, you're in there, if you're in your house alone.
That's an only fan's waiting to happen.
Yes.
Oh, yeah.
Brought to you by Irish Spring.
I do love Irish Spring.
Only fan.
I do.
I like Irish Spring.
We use Irish Spring.
That's good stuff.
Green Bar.
Come on.
Today's podcast brought to you by Irish Spring.
I do like this Irish Spring.
Fun playing into it even.
I think people need to get the hell off the game for a minute and go shower.
But it's fun and you need to go check it.
Go check out Mark.
marketing dive marketing dive.com and get all the the notes on that article it's a real thing it is a real thing
clubhouse have you used clubhouse i haven't but i know of it okay but i don't have it it was such a
like thing like when it first came out right limited people joining i got on there and i'm like how this is
a time suck it was really interesting and there's still a lot of great knowledge on the platform but jesus it is
like you have to get on it it's it was so different to me because like the great
thing about podcasting is the ability to do what they call it place and time shift,
which means you listen to it on your own time.
Right.
Like this podcast here, which we know you listen to at least six or seven times.
Like the, but you do it on your own terms.
Right.
Clubhouses, it was all, they don't even, they weren't recorded.
I think they've now started recording them.
Yeah.
But you had to come on at that exact time to get the information.
And I did it for a bit.
Which feels so old school.
It did.
It felt like going backwards.
but it's still pretty damn popular.
Yeah.
But they've tested an in-room gaming feature.
It's testing a new in-room gaming feature for both iOS and Android devices.
As part of the initial launch, the app is rolling out a game called Wildcards,
which presents a series of questions that are designed to spur conversation
and help people get to know each other better.
This sounds like a dating app.
Yes, it does.
It sounds like a dating app within Clubhouse.
and or what is the
what is the what is the
isn't there a game
where you ask that
there's questions
you get to know each other
better
it's not an app
but like
you don't talk about
what is it
what am I talking about
20 questions
maybe
that's all it is
cats and obvious over there
there
there's an app
called like babble
or something
that you just
ask questions
back and forth
yeah
but the app
generates them
it's kind of fun
to start a game
on clubhouse
you have to click
the plus rooms
button
and then select the games options.
You're then be dropped in a social room
where you can invite friends to play with you.
Once everyone is in the room,
you can click Start Game to begin playing.
Sounds fun.
What kind of games?
Is it like Connect 4?
I don't know.
It's a series of questions designed to spark conversation.
So, I mean, your mind can go a lot of places.
It does feel a little bit like a dating app.
But I do say,
having been on Clubhouse
enough that some of the rooms
can get a little monologue dry
pretty quick like someone's talking
and it's like anything that maybe gets other people
actively engaged in it maybe
sure I can see
it still feels like a dating
dating app to me
but there's a lot of knowledge on Clubhouse
I haven't talked about a ton on the show
but we even thought about putting the rag cast on it
when it first came out and then it's just like
why haven't we do that
because like pre-recorded.
You know, like, there were so many people on that thing at first.
I think their numbers have kind of died off,
but it still, you know, has a pretty, I don't know, loyal following.
Right.
Spotify brings live audio shows to its main app
and rebrands companion app green room at Spotify Live.
Interestingly enough, this is kind of back towards that same train
we're talking about is, you know, you go live essentially.
So your audio can go live.
I think this is really cool because I think even, you know,
we've seen a regression in live performance,
but concerts really, you know,
that's one thing that people will still continue to spend their money on
and still continue.
Like, they still want that experience.
So I think it's super smart.
Super smart.
It could also be cool for,
we were talking earlier about variations of the radcasts that we might do.
If you did a daily show and you go live,
you have a live daily audio show.
There you go.
But I have video as well, too.
So it's both live audio.
I mean, it's another TV station.
I mean, it's another, I mean, you know, like we talk about these things and we go, wow, it's different.
Well, isn't that?
Isn't it?
It's just a new form of television.
I wonder how much of like a post-COVID world has informed these decisions because there was that drastic loss of connection and doing something at the same time as other people, even if you are in separate places still gives you more of a feeling of connection than just like we all watch the same show, but we watch it differently and then talk.
about it at separate times.
Yeah.
I think that's right.
You know, just an interesting.
That is, I think we were headed there.
The COVID just like poured gas on it.
Yeah.
The, um, it's interesting though, because it's just another channel.
You know, again, back to like, don't overcomplicate it, but thinking about,
it does bring up the question and we've talked a little bit about it, you know,
live content versus pre-recorded, you know.
And this show, the Friday episode, is topical.
Yeah.
So it's intended, it very much suits itself to live, you know, a live format.
It dates itself quickly.
Yeah, it does.
I mean, we like to think it's humorous and fun, no matter when you listen to it.
But it can date quickly if you don't catch it within, I don't know, a week.
Yeah.
And then our Tuesdays are super evergreen.
Like, the interviews we do are timeless.
Yeah.
So it does venture in, like, if you're starting a podcast or you're in business, you're doing things.
you're doing things, you've got to think about that component of live versus evergreen.
Right.
I think that's probably the way to be thinking about it.
But Spotify Live app sounds cool to me.
I think we might try it out.
I think next week we're going to do Instagram Live.
We're going to do vertical video.
That's exciting.
So be on the lookout for that.
Twitter's new acquisition could help alert you about only the tweets that actually matter.
The ones that sell for millions of dollars.
I thought that was kind of the point of the homepage.
But I can tell you they need this app because more often than not, it's a bunch of shit that I didn't really want to see anyway.
So their algorithm isn't wonderful.
But I also don't use the app probably enough to enlighten it.
Yeah, I hear you.
But so we'll give a break.
But Twitter announced Tuesday that has acquired Openback, a push notifications company.
Openback offers device side control of push notifications, four words I love.
the best push notifications bring people to the conversations they care about on Twitter.
But irrelevant notifications are a distraction.
Millions of people visiting Twitter via notifications every day.
We want them to be timely, relevant and engaging.
And I can tell you, I do get notifications and half of them I have no interest in.
So they do need some improvement.
That's surprise me nuts.
Yeah, it's like, I mean, it's like most random stuff ever.
It's like, you know.
Somehow I've subscribed myself to Mark Hamill's tweets.
Oh, Star Wars?
Oh, yes.
which I do love.
May the fourth be with you.
It's coming out.
May the fourth is coming up.
I know.
But every time I get a Twitter notification, it's always Mark Hamill.
And I'm like, I'm not mad.
But how did this?
I have no, I have no cognizant memory of making that happen.
Deep down, you're a Star Wars lover.
Oh, I have a Star Wars tattoo.
I'm a big Star Wars fan.
I love you, Mark Camel.
Please come on the podcast.
Yes.
Maybe in the Metaverse.
So good.
Twitter, get your notifications in order.
We support it.
Elon will fix it.
Yeah, Elon's going to fix it either way.
Riding Uticorns down the cyber aisle.
Weddings and the Metaverse as we close out today.
The Tandemic or the Pandemic.
I like that.
The pandemic has already overhauled our ideas about what a wedding can look like.
New technology, including the Metaverse, adding further innovation to the mix.
Joy, Chief Executive Vishal Joshi makes a few predictions about headings,
well how weddings might look in the ear term we're coming down to the last article here clearly
as my uh as i trip over that so uh we did do that we talked jo and i think i can't remember christian
if you're on we talked about a wedding that actually took place in the metaverse this is probably
like a month or two again yeah i don't think i was like they literally went and did the whole thing
in vr and like the whole wedding party was there and it was like it's crazy because they all worked
at a company that was part of the metaverse so they had access to it so it wasn't like an
extreme, you know, expense per se.
But, yeah, so you get married, you know, in the one-averse.
I mean, is it legal?
Like, can you like-
Is it a marriage?
Yeah.
Is it a marriage license?
Yeah.
You have to, how hard is it to get divorced in the metaverse?
Yeah.
Cheating in the metaverse.
I mean, it's like so many things, like, but riding unicorns down the cyber aisle.
I like the headline, at least.
I don't know if I want to get married in the metaverse, though.
I don't want unicorns involved either way.
Oh, come on.
Come on.
That article is brought to you by The Drum.
Go check out The Drum.com.

But it'll be fine.
It'll be fine by the time we open.
It's a great show.
I'm already very proud of it.
That's cool.
Very excited for it.
Yeah.
Great.
Well, appreciate you.
Yeah.
Have fun.
