Yeah, I mean, do y'all have lights everywhere?
Or just a couple candy canes?
No.
So here's what we have, Ryan.
Are you familiar with the reindeer that have the lights on them?
I've watched Christmas vacation a few times.
Sure.
New potential jobs in the metaverse.
The first potential new job is a meta-sitter.
Even in the metaverse, like your kids are having a shit time there.
You know who I think would do great in the metaverse?
Ron our test, formerly run our test.
The Meta World Peace.
The love affair between Tinder and Spotify is intensified.
Oh, boy.
You're listening to the Radcast.
If it's radical, we cover it.
Here's your host, Ryan Alford.
Hey guys, what's up?
Welcome to the latest edition of the Rad Radcast.
Wow.
Excited today.
Yeah, that was good.
You like that?
Yeah, did.
Today is Friday, December 10th, 2021.
What's up, Joe?
hammered.
What's up, Ryan?
How are you?
I'm doing great.
That's great.
Warm and cozy.
I'm in my Radcast champion signature sweatshirt.
Mine hasn't come yet, so I'll just, I'll wait.
I know.
We get everybody's sizes together.
Might be your Christmas gift.
I'm a small.
Extra small.
Extra small.
Yeah.
You're a youth small.
Youth small, yeah.
How about my youth?
This is a youth large.
No.
No.
No.
It's a double X.
Double X.
Get the double X going.
I probably just go on.
I probably just go.
single.
Hallelujah.
Single X.
Yes, exactly.
What's happening, man?
Hey, you got two weeks to get on it for Christmas shopping.
No, and I am not on it at all.
You're off it.
No, I just talked to my wife on the way over here.
I have not bought her one thing.
Oh.
So how's that going to work out?
Yeah.
No, I have a list.
I have a list.
I've checked it twice and now I just have to get it done.
Get it done.
You know there's a supply shortage.
so of thongs and bras.
Oh, it's mostly thongs and bras too.
And lingerie.
Longeret.
You get your wife of lingerie for Christmas.
No.
That's for,
Valentine's Day or something.
Yeah.
Maybe even birthday.
Look honey, look what I got you.
Yeah.
In front of the kids.
Yeah.
Look, this part opens up.
Money, go try it on.
Yeah.
Like the bunny outfit from the Christmas story.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Your Aunt Susan did that.
Yeah.
You look so pretty, Mommy.
But you do have two weeks
I know that
And I'm also gone
Part of next week in the next
You'll be in Vegas
Yeah
The trip's coming up fast
It is coming up fast
And I'm gonna maybe take a little extra
Chatter
Maybe we'll find something for her in Las Vegas
I'm gonna give you like a hundred
A hundred spot
Put on 20 black
Okay
I'm kind of my go-to
And you lost
Yeah
Oops
You could already tell me
I already lost
So
But I will take that hard
Damn it.
Yeah, I'll give you that 100.
Sure.
Put it on something.
Buy yourself something nice.
Put it on my...
We won't go there.
Nah.
So it's been a good week?
It's been a great week.
Yeah.
How about yourself?
It's been good.
A little odd.
Just sick kids and like family stuff.
It's been a little business has been great.
Yeah, that's good.
The podcast has been great.
We had Bruce Buffer on.
Okay.
Finally.
It happened.
On Tuesday it released.
Uh, so, uh, getting a lot of good feedback on Bruce, but the, it's been a little odd week at home on the home front, but it's been good on the business front.
Well, that's good. You know, you get half right? Can't have everything. Can't have everything. But, um, no, it's all good.
Gearing up for the holidays. I'm starting to feel like in the Christmas spirit a little bit, a little bit. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I got my decorations out. We do a big. Did you know that I own part of the Roper Mountain holiday lights? I bought that when they went out of business, I bought two of the candy canes.
Are you serious?
I swear to God, they're in my front yard.
You have been the front yard?
Very nice.
You need a picture of that.
I'll send you a picture.
Maybe we can get Nick to...
Yeah, put it up, flash it up.
He can flash it up on the screen for next week's episode.
I like it.
I like it a lot.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, do y'all have lights everywhere?
Or there's just a couple of candy canes.
No.
So here's what we have, Ryan.
Are you familiar with the reindeer that have the lights on them?
I've watched Christmas vacation a few times.
Sure, sure.
These are the white, like they're the wire ones kind of, you know what I mean?
Yeah.
Okay, those.
Not the ones that Clark like chop the, couldn't chop these.
The Ranger.
These are metal.
I have about 15 of those.
Okay.
So we got that.
That's strong.
Two big candy canes.
Maybe I have more of those.
The porch got something around the garage.
It goes line the driveway.
It looks real nice.
I like it.
Yeah.
So it's a real bitch also.
Yeah, to put up.
How long is it an all day affair?
It's, yeah.
It's a.
It's a good portion.
Good portion.
The problem...
How many beers do you drink while you're doing it?
Inumerable.
The problem with the candy cane thing,
which we just figured out last year,
it's got these like circus tent stakes.
Yeah.
Like you have to hammer into the ground with a sledgehammer.
And to get them out,
you have to take a, you know, the jack for your car.
Oh, yeah.
And put it underneath there and do that.
Otherwise, you'll be there all day.
Ugh.
Yeah.
Sounds a little...
It's a little Christmas tip.
Yeah.
For everybody.
I don't know.
Luckily, we have a loft downtown and you have to deal with any of that shit.
Sure. It's the kids like it.
My one kid that usually does it with me is in college now.
The other one's like, you don't give a shirt.
We'll see how long it lasts.
He just gives you those eyes like when you want him to help.
Yeah, I roll his eyes right out of his head.
Well, on the podcast front, we had Bruce on Tuesday.
We did a special edition that actually launched yesterday.
Okay.
And it was the 2022 marketing trends edition.
I knew that.
Bray Harvey and I did that.
He's our director of digital media.
and it was really good.
I'm going to call it the practical marketing trends for 2022.
Okay.
Sometimes you see all these trends and it drives me crazy and they're so forward thinking,
you can't act upon them.
Sure.
They're like,
Metaverse will be an example.
Like, okay,
some brands can do some things,
but most are not really going to dick around with the Metaverse next year.
And I call it the practical tips.
So I think people can get a lot from it.
What's the number one practical tip?
Number one.
Hmm.
That's like,
asking me to choose which kid I like should I guess you guess grow your personal brand
not on the list but it could have been yes that's in the playbook sure you know this is like
you know trend stuff that's in the the radical formula playbook which is important I'm glad you've
been listening I every day every day it's all I do it's all you do every time the number one I
would say hmm we talked a bot about live social shopping the Q
UVC effect.
Sure.
And we talked about actually how that trend's growing, and I'm calling it live social shopping, 2.0.
Okay.
So, and some of the trends that come along with it, which I'm not going to get into here because I want you to listen to the episode.
So obviously.
Just a little teaser.
Sure.
I'm in marketing.
Sure.
You are.
I noticed that.
I noticed that.
But, yes.
So live social shopping and the trend that we're moving and how it's going to change next year and how you need to be thinking about it.
and it's not just re-commerce.
It's for brick and mortar, too.
Okay.
There's your teaser, folks.
I'm going to have to go listen to that.
Yeah, you're going to have to.
And guess what, my friend?
So next Thursday, I think you'll be leaving for Vegas that day, won't you?
I leave, yeah.
But you'll be here to record.
I will.
Because it's a special day.
Do you know what it is?
Ooh, Festivus?
We did forget our Festivus poll.
Yeah.
No, it's not Festivus.
It is episode 200.
Really?
2-0-0 next Thursday.
And that's...
Of the RADCast.
Of the entire Radcast.
Yes.
It just so happened to fall on...
Next Thursday's episode is episode 200.
I think we're gonna like blast some streamers and like some party hats or something.
Can we wear party hats?
I will.
100%.
I think Nick might have a problem with the streamers and stuff like that.
Seems like that would get.
Yeah, quite a mess.
We don't like because we have no mess in here.
Yeah, no, no cords or anything.
No, I don't see any cords.
Yeah.
If you're watching this, depending on,
when you're watching or listening.
If you're listening to it live, you're seeing behind the scenes magic.
And we do have a live audience today.
Sure.
Which we're very appreciative of, you know, all seven of them.
Yeah.
Well, I don't know.
It's the first one we've done.
So, you know, you've got to build audience every time.
Right.
But, and it doesn't help a side note that my personal Instagram account was,
had some fraudulent activity and it's been completely down for three days.
Really?
Yeah.
So otherwise, we'd probably go live on my account and have a few more people watching.
Sure.
but we're on the Radcast channel so if you're here you are a true fan and we appreciate you
and if you're with Instagram get my fucking account back up what happened would just you don't know
there were some act okay so we had a we had a funeral this week and the day of the funeral
I turned my phone off completely sure and had it off for like five hours sorry to hear there was a
funeral by the way it was my wife's out of the family and very sad but um I turned my phone off
for like five hours and I guess it just so happened that right
after I turned my phone off, some fraudulent activity happened, which triggered them wanting me to do a
verification of the account, like a second, because I had my phone off for five hours. And if you
respond within a certain amount of time, it's all good. Because I didn't respond for like five hours,
they deactivate, they short-term deactivated the account. They thought she'd taken over your account.
Yeah. So three days later, here I am. No account. You know, but you know what? I will say I've been,
I feel like I've been more productive. Like, more time. More time. But, uh,
No, it's been kind of a pain in the ass.
That is paying the ass.
It's weird.
Hopefully, I did, we do have level one support with Facebook being a Facebook partner and buying, spending a lot of money with them.
Sure.
So I have escalated it to where you need to, but it's, you know, still takes time.
Yeah.
Yeah.
They probably don't care.
No.
But back to the bigger point, which is episode 200.
Sure.
That's the bright side.
We've got to really think about something special for that.
I don't know what it is.
I think some Mike's heart lemonade.
Swear to God, I was about to say Mike's Hard Lemonade.
We didn't have something we'd actually really like.
Like, I don't know.
Like some food champagne or something.
Literally anything.
You don't get you getting buzzed up before you go to Vegas, you know?
Before I drive to Atlanta to get on an airport.
Sure, that'd be great.
Your daughter can drive, right?
She's already there.
But the flight's not until like 8 p.m.
Oh, that's true.
So, I mean, I could just, you know, I leave here around, you know, 3.30, get to Atlanta right around 530, which is no problem probably.
Atlanta traffic.
No, none at all.
And it would be fine.
Yeah, it'll be fine.
That's what I think about that, Atlanta traffic.
Yep.
It's not great.
No.
It's not just a little bit.
We've got to push it all the way down.
Get that last bit of water.
There it is.
But you know, like we always like to do, it's time for some social holidays.
We like it.
We do.
And today, you know, the first one's somewhat serious, even though I, you know,
I sometimes question the methodology for selection.
The validity and the, yeah.
Yeah, but Nobel Prize Day is today.
Did they give out the Nobel Prize today?
You would think, but I'm not aware.
I'd be past the level of research I did on this.
Which is very surface level.
It would make sense if they gave out the Nobel Prize today, but I don't, I feel like I would have, well, maybe not.
I don't know.
Maybe it's when they take candidates or something or candidates like you vote for it.
No like entries or nominations.
Nominate there.
There's the word.
Sure.
I think the Radcast got some nominated for some awards like that.
I think so.
Nobel,
Nobel Podcast Peace Award.
We won.
We won.
Congratulations.
We did it.
We're going to announce it next week on number two.
We're bringing peace world and marketing together.
Yeah.
Yeah.
All in one.
100%.
The, uh,
Thank you. Thank you for that.
It's all, but they share the day with another holiday.
National Salesperson Day.
Oh.
Today's your day.
I'm pretty excited.
Congratulations.
I got you something really special, what I got you last year for it.
Yeah, I'm going to go sit at my desk and put my head down for a while.
Is that how you'll celebrate?
That's how I'm going to celebrate.
I'm going to take a little nap.
Yeah.
Hallelujah.
Yeah.
Yes.
Well, and tomorrow.
is, you know, it's a little more serious.
Okay.
International Mountain Day.
Okay.
So.
And it actually coincides with our first article today, which we'll get to it a bit.
So in celebration of International Mountain Day.
Any mountain.
Any mountain.
The foothills here in South Carolina are, you know, the great smoky mountains.
We're close to the Blue Ridge.
Yeah.
Parkway and everything.
And sure.
Sure.
Yeah.
So we'll celebrate.
football right over those mountains.
Yeah, you like that.
I do.
And then it shares a day with
National Appetysers.
Yes.
It's Applebee's created this holiday.
Really?
I think it's apps like on your phone day.
Oh, that's too bad.
I know.
I like the app.
I like anything with food better.
Yeah, appetizers are.
Yeah.
It's what you make.
Maybe we should have, Nick,
we should have had some appetizers, man.
It's what you eat to make you more hungry.
Yeah, right?
As Cartman said.
Do you think Nick could have some mozzarella sticks in here for us?
Yeah, would you kill you to have some poppers?
Some pizza shooters or extreme fajitas?
What would, yeah, how many apps could you name?
Like, from like, you know, the most random places.
If this was like named that tune, how many apps could you name?
You get always cheese sticks.
Yep.
Maybe like fried pickles situation.
Oh, yeah.
Wings.
Wings, nachos.
Although wings could be a meal.
Most meal.
Yeah.
Uh, how about fried green beans?
Okay.
I haven't seen that one quite as much.
Fried green tomatoes maybe.
Yes.
Would be a good one.
Um, how about some artichoke dip?
Okay.
Okay.
All right.
Get into the dips.
You get a lot of chili cheese dip.
Sure.
Soft pretzel with some, like the beer cheese situation or Permano cheese dip.
Yep.
How about, could I do you some chili cheese ranch fries from somewhere?
Yeah.
Rye fries?
Rye fries.
Inside joke.
Sorry about that.
That's probably not funny.
Exactly.
This has been riveting so far, I'm sure.
Yes.
But now moving on to a special segment that may or may not turn into a segment.
You know, we'll see.
If we have a stinger for it next week, which, you know, we'll decide after the fact,
I've heard, listen to it back to it to see if it's as funny as we think it might be.
New potential jobs in the metaverse.
Yep.
I think we need meta, meta, meta.
I'm thinking ahead to like what the stinger could be echoing metaverse.
So new jobs.
The first potential new job is a meta sitter.
Meta sitter.
All right.
Your babysitter in the metaverse.
So even in like,
even in the metaverse like your kids are having a shit time.
They're at a baby sitter.
Me and the honey and I are, you know, you're in your VR world.
We're going to get in the metaverse tonight, kids.
And you're going to get with the metacitter.
stay with the MetaSitter.
They're all just sit around with like VR headsets on like, oh.
Oh, God, we can't leave this one world because they've gone like, they've gone crazy
all week in the Metaverse and like, you got to stay in this one room with this old lady
AI.
Yeah.
It's like a Roblox character old, old Betty.
Oh my God.
Betty the Netasitter.
Metaciter.
She makes $15 an hour in the Metaverse.
Plus whatever she wants out of the fridge too.
Yeah.
I don't forget about that.
She eats all our leftovers of the nethersteader.
Meta-Fridge.
Next one is a metathorapist.
Yeah.
You have to go sit on the faux-leather couch and the metaphors.
Metacouch.
Metacouch.
And the metathorapist will ease your troubles.
I could maybe use that.
I think I could too.
I don't want to look into that.
I could see like, could you get like a meta-missuse?
That'd be a tough one.
I know.
It's like, it'd be a tough one.
Maybe my wife could be the metamassuse while I'm in the meta-verse.
You know, and we'll take turns on each other, like massaging one another while you're in the metaverse and you have the goggles on.
And I think that I'm at like a beach in Hawaii, you know.
And then, but you have a meta massage.
That could be a real job.
Like a metamassuse that comes over while you're in the metaverse so that you're feeling what you're seeing.
Sure.
Hmm.
That actually could be a real one.
We're on to something there.
Meta masseuse.
There's a lot of applications for that too.
Yeah.
Some of them get a little.
Yeah.
Mm-mm.
Gotcha.
Meta tour guide.
Okay.
I mean,
you can get pretty lost
in the metaverse.
Sure.
I can see the need for a tour guide around,
you know.
I could,
yeah,
it's like when you get your,
really rich people
when they go to Disney World.
Yeah.
They have somebody like,
show them around,
and this is the secret stuff
or whatever.
Exactly.
You know.
I know.
And I,
there's a lot of application for like,
think about,
you know,
it wasn't very practical.
to build houses with secret passages and all this stuff.
But in the metaverse, it gets a little more...
Because, you know, like, there's a secret world in all these games.
Sure.
They could be about all the little secret trapdoors and secret places and all this stuff.
You know there's going to be like these secret societies.
Oh, yeah.
Meta societies.
There's another job.
There probably already is.
Yeah.
Meta cult leader.
Medica.
Yeah.
You started the first cult in the...
the Metaverse.
Yeah.
Metacult.
I met a cult once.
I didn't like them very much.
No.
It's weird.
Yeah.
I met a crook.
Betak.
I got my,
my diamond necklace that I bought from Tiffany's in the Metaverse.
Stolen.
Yeah.
By Metacruck.
Metacut.
Yeah.
And then Meta-marketing.
I mean,
bringing it back.
I feel like my whole job in the next 10 years is going to be marketing in the
Metaverse.
Sure.
Like, how many more billboards can we put up, you know, on this?
In the Metaverse.
in the metaverse.
You know who I think would do great in the metaverse?
You're going to probably get this right away after I say it.
Ron our test, formerly run our test.
Yeah, the meta world peace.
He was way ahead of his time with that.
Way ahead.
Way ahead.
He was a genius.
Yeah.
He is a genius.
Did he know something?
Or is it just purely luck?
Probably luck.
Probably entirely luck.
Yeah.
I don't know.
He's the president of the metaverse.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Who knows?
Yeah, there it is.
So there's your new potential jobs this week in the Metaverse.
It was great.
It was good.
It's pretty good.
We might stick with it.
All right.
And the news topics for the week, going back to our international Mountain Day,
Mountain Dew is introducing an outdoor enthusiast playground called the Mountain Dew Outpost.
Okay.
It's in where Mountain Dew actually was born, which is in Tennessee, Mountain City, Tennessee.
to mix with moonshine, right?
Yeah.
That's the whole story.
That's right.
And they're going to hire, you can become a ranger for a week,
get paid $5,000.
Oh, shit, for a week?
Yeah, to go be the outdoor ranger for the mountain dew park.
What if it's like, what if it's like,
all you can drink your own and do.
Right, but also like a real job where you're cleaning toilets and like,
yeah, if you're the real ranger.
chasing bears around and stuff with a, what do you call it?
Taser.
Taser, yeah, some type thing.
Cattle prod.
Or that.
You probably shouldn't do that.
No, you're cattle prodding children.
Get out of here.
Yeah, get off that bridge.
Stop drinking all my mountain dew.
Oh, my dang mountain dew.
I mean, you're like jacked up the whole time because you're just drinking mountain dudes.
Yeah.
There's no water there.
Yeah, no water.
It's the rivers are all mountain dew.
Right.
It's like Willy Wonka.
Yeah.
It's like Willy Wonka.
Where the beer flows like wine.
And that salmon, whatever.
Capistrida.
Yeah.
The mountain dew flows like the salmon of Capistrana.
Oh, God.
You're having like a dinner with like a nice steak and there's like a wine glass full of code red though.
It would be probably code red.
Right?
Mount Dew,
Oh, absolutely.
Because it looks like wine.
Yeah.
That's right.
Thank you.
So I like this.
Mountain Dew.
Good brand play.
Hey, going back to your roots, baby.
You know, I do want to become a ranger there.
I'm going to apply tomorrow.
Yeah, that sounds probably pretty cool.
Yeah, I'd do it.
For 5,000 bucks.
Just to be able to put it on my social media.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's probably what everyone would do it for, I guess.
I know, exactly.
And more serious news, the love affair between Tinder and Spotify is intensifying.
Oh, boy.
Now you're going to be able to intermix your playlist into your Tinder profile.
So people know the music you listen to.
And I guess while you're verusing the Tinder profile or even play some of your favorites.
Okay.
It seems like just another reason for somebody to not like you or something, right?
It's mood music.
Sure.
I mean, it's kind of like playing right into like, all right, what is this really?
Yeah.
And as I said, is this relationship building or is it just hookups?
I think, yeah, I don't, I honestly, to never use, never seen Tinder to be perfectly honest.
I've seen it.
I don't remember if I used it when I was seeing, when I, after I got divorced, Nicole and I met on Match.
Yeah, we, yep.
So we're, a match influencer right here, buddy.
Yep.
But, uh, perfect, uh, you know.
example of how you can win
with online dating.
But Tinder, I don't remember as much,
but there's always, you know, just swiping, I think, right?
Left right, like hot or not or something.
I mean, I'm not completely unaware of it.
Yeah, it's swiping, but I've never.
Yeah, sure.
You know you have four secret profiles.
Yeah, your own bumble grinder and doer.
The other one.
Yeah, whatever.
Farmers only.
Farmers only.
That is your favorite profile.
That is your favorite profile.
Yeah, they let me in.
You have to answer a little questionnaire,
and I've watched a couple things, but it's fine.
You really are the best farmer, I know.
Well, you can plow right through the best of them.
Well, ladies, take note.
Farmer Joe at, I don't even know how that.
At Farmersonly.com, I don't know.
Very nice.
Go look for me on there.
So Amazon is being sued.
for deceiving customers by failing to clearly delineate between paid advertisements and organic search results.
So in layman's terms, when you go on Amazon, you search for a product.
Sure.
They're saying that it's hard to delineate between the sponsored ads at the top and thus the ones that are truly in the search results.
And what people don't understand is you're paying Amazon, even if you're not in the sponsored place,
to get to the top of that list,
you've probably paid Amazon in some way to get to the top anyway
so that you have more reviews or you've done.
It's like pay to play either way.
Right.
That's kind of what I was thinking.
Like, isn't it just kind of the same thing?
And the people suing,
they aren't smart enough to know that.
Or they do know it and they're just trying to, you know,
get money out of Amazon.
If I search for something and a paid ad comes up for the thing I search for,
isn't that success?
Yeah.
Right?
I think.
I mean.
I think they're just saying for consumers,
like it's misleading that maybe the sponsored ad is a product that's not as good as maybe what would be top of the organic search results.
I mean, you make your choices, right?
Yeah.
So the people suing are just, sorry, I got a little excited.
My voice cracked.
The people suing are people that they search for something.
Yeah, pretty close.
Search for something.
And then the first results are like, oh, I'm going to buy that one.
Yeah, top one.
I got it.
Yeah, they're misled.
And they're mad.
That's dumb.
Yeah.
I know.
But hey, it's good.
If you're going to sue someone,
I see Amazon.
Yeah, they probably get sued a lot.
Yes.
Oh, God.
You imagine?
I mean, how many times a day do they get sued?
A gazillion.
Yeah.
Jeff Bezos.
Yeah, he's doing all right, didn't he?
I think he's doing okay.
Yeah.
I think he cares.
Moving on to another not caring,
Facebook,
their new professional profile is letting creators unlock
money and new.
audience growing tools. So here's what's going on. TikTok has eaten everybody's lunch a little bit
with organic, especially video views and time on site or on app. And, you know, Facebook's trying
to make a real comeback with reels that have moved from Instagram to now Facebook. They're trying
to get influencers and creators excited about it. So they're monetizing the reels to where if you get
enough people watching, essentially like YouTube, get paid for the views. And they're opening up
other tools for creators.
And so,
I guess my opportunities to monetize.
Okay.
Joey, Joey and Sean should be on there.
Making money.
Might already be.
On Facebook?
Well, we're definitely on Facebook.
I know.
But you need to be in the professional.
Well, I'll talk to Joey about it.
I get it back to you.
I'm trying to help you.
As your agent, I'm trying to help here.
I recommend.
Yeah.
It just seems like more of the same a little bit,
but I'm sure it's different somehow.
Yeah. Well, it's an opportunity to make money on your content.
Which is always good. It is good.
So Coca-Cola, speaking of TikTok, just launched.
They haven't been on TikTok at all until this week.
What?
What?
Yeah, we need that. I need that sound effect.
What?
But, yeah, they just joined TikTok and they're doing a dance challenge.
Oh, boy.
They're late to the game and late to the trends.
But, you know, we talked about their real magic.
campaign that we really liked.
Not really.
But they're doing a share the magic challenge with Khalid's new song.
So the people, they had someone choreographed the thing and how you do the dance challenge
behind it.
And I'm like, this is so 19, 2019 here.
Yeah, they miss that one.
I guess they're trying to bring it back.
Because the roots of TikTok are in dance and music.
Sure.
Yeah.
Well, if there's two things that I think TikTok needs more of, it's huge.
corporate brands, right?
And dance challenges.
Yeah, I know.
Because where would you ever see that?
Yeah, I don't know where you'd say it.
I was hoping there'd be one more.
Yeah.
Yeah, at least one more.
Yeah.
It's calling Pepsi, right?
But since Khalid's doing it, I'm into it, man.
I'm into it, bro.
Yeah.
Like, come on.
I mean, Cocoa, if you're going to come on, let's do something original.
Groundbreaking.
This is not real magic.
This is fake magic.
Yeah, this is old magic.
Retread.
This is a hairy, re-shed.
Retredged magic.
Yeah.
That's what we should call it.
This is the new campaign.
It's, you know.
Retred the magic.
Rerun.
Magic.
Our greatest hits.
Our greatest hits.
I mean, Khalid, you know, that's fresh.
Right.
Yeah.
We'll see.
A lot more.
A lot more.
Cutting edge people.
So we talked about this a couple weeks ago.
Nike land had invaded Roblox.
Yep.
Well, now Ralph Lauren is doing the same thing.
Oh.
They have a.
short term, like a one-month activation,
like a game that you can download that's like you get into the world.
It's a Ralph Lauren world where you can check out the latest styles
and play some fresh games with Ralph Lauren.
Do kids like that?
I don't know.
The Nike made sense.
Yeah.
And maybe Ralph Lauren is more popular with the kids.
My kids don't care about it.
No.
My son wears some polo shirts maybe.
I don't even know if he knows what Ralph.
Is Tommy Hilfiger?
made her come back or is that just my imagination?
You might have imagined that.
Okay.
I don't know.
Yeah.
Well, Ralph Lauren is now in the metaverse.
Counterpro.
Should you be pronouncing it, Ralph Lauren?
That's what I'm saying, Ralph Lauren.
I feel like you were saying Ralph Lauren before.
I'd say it both ways.
We have to look at the tape.
I think both ways are acceptable, but.
Ralph Laurenne.
Ralph Lauren.
Roblox.
Roblox.
Roblox.
Yeah.
In the metaverse,
say.
Whatever.
How many different ways can we say everything?
Yeah.
Okay.
Also, Twitter is getting into the TikTok copycat game like everyone else.
You're going to be able to go to Explore page on Twitter.
It's going to have like a similar for you type set up with videos and the content.
Which is to me like the absolute opposite of what Twitter was intended to be.
That's not what Twitter is.
But I mean, there's a lot of video and content put on tweets.
But I guess you're going to be able to explore that content in a more, I don't know, video-centric way.
Yeah, that's kind of my thought.
I wanted to see how you reacted, and that's exactly how I reacted.
Yeah.
And we'll see.
Do you use Twitter a lot?
I use it a few times a week for news and a few topics that I, and I get retweeted a lot.
Like, I go, if I'm a guest on podcast, like it seems like a lot of business people use it because they'll tag me on stuff.
Yeah.
And I'll go retweet stuff.
and then when I'm there, I'll check out a few things.
And like for sports, like if there's a game going on,
it's pretty good for like live commentary.
Agreed.
I think usually when I look at it is if I'm looking at something already an article
and it links to something on Twitter, then I'll...
But I think as I go down the rabbit hole,
like, if I'm watching a game and I think about it
and I start getting on Twitter, then I'm like, I'm in it.
Like all the trolls are on there and I'm like, oh, God,
I kind of get sucked in.
Yeah.
And it's like a dog.
Yeah.
You're getting a fight with somebody on Twitter.
Yeah, I may have virtually punched someone in the face.
Right.
In the metaverse.
MetaVoxer.
I'm the world champion.
Yeah.
Just wait.
Just wait.
Just wait.
Metaboxer.
Metaboxer.
So we talked about the Apple Wallet.
I think it was several months back about security car, driver license, everything getting in there.
Well, Hyatt is rolling out hotel keys for your Apple Wallet.
Okay.
Which to me makes sense.
It does.
Yeah.
And I was actually very, okay, I'm a Marriott Rewards member.
Bonvoy.
Proud member, actually.
Marriott Bonvoy.
Marriott Bonvoy.
I am as well.
And Bonvoy.
Bonvoy.
So, and I will say this.
So I'll do everything through the app for a recent trip.
We did a staycation.
We stayed downtown at the AC Hotel.
Okay.
Very nice.
If you come to Greenville State, the O.C. Hotel, get one of the sweets.
It's very nice.
There's your recommend.
Today's podcast.
Brought to you by.
Brought to you by.
The AC Hotel.
In Greenville.
In Greenville, South Carolina.
And everything was done to the app, and they did.
They had the digital keys as well.
And it was a very nice touch.
Okay.
It was cool.
I like it.
Yeah, I honestly can't think of a problem with that.
Yeah, you didn't have to check in.
You had to do anything.
You had the key on the smartphone.
Like when it's your check in time, it's boom, it's there.
Yep.
So you can check in.
Really?
Yes.
Didn't even have to talk to any idiot at the front desk.
I'm staying at a Marriott Bonvoy property in Las Vegas, which is the cosmopol.
Yeah.
Maybe you can do it.
Well, Cosmo is a little different,
Vegas, maybe.
I don't know.
I don't know.
They want to put their eyes on you.
Make sure you're...
Have money.
Yeah.
You didn't, like, you know, hold someone up.
Yeah.
You're going to rob the casino.
I'm going to take all your cash deck.
Your reservation has been transferred to Circus, Circus.
Yes.
So this is an application that I think makes a lot of sense for the Apple Wall.
So I like to see it expand.
And finally, Tesla is allowing.
drivers to play video games and moving cars.
And it's raising safety concerns.
What?
What concerns could there possibly be?
No.
This is a terrible idea.
Terrible idea.
This is worse like texting.
It's like hey, it's like saying like enabling texting and driving.
Yeah.
It's like what?
I mean, it's definitely worse than that.
Because there's what the newer your car, I guess, you have the voice to text, right?
Yes.
You could do it without, which is a good feature.
It's a great feature.
Playing video games.
Not so much.
How's that going to work?
I don't know.
I'm hoping you put a VR headset on while you're driving.
Whoa, this can't go bad.
You're playing a driving game?
You're playing a frogger in the middle of, like running over people.
You're playing Grand Tremontorezmo and you're like actually like.
Yeah.
Grand Theft Auto.
Oh, yeah.
In the Metaverse.
Shooting prostitute.
Meta car thief.
Meta prostitute?
Yeah.
Was that too much?
Yeah.
I don't know.
It's going to happen.
You know what's happening.
They'll figure it out.
They'll figure it out.
That'll be the first like, you know, everybody's like, what's going to be the first real use of the metaverse?
You know it's going to be something.
Pornography or slices or something.
Yeah.
It's how it all goes.
It's a huge chunk of the internet.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Or make it right.
I'm not sure.
Yeah.
It's either way.
One of the other.
And that's all for the news today, folks.
Yeah.
It's been a good episode.
Yeah.
Yeah, it was fun.
I enjoyed that.
A little jobs in the metaver.
segment.
Yeah,
might have some legs.
I think it's,
I think it was great.
Yeah.
We'll wait for some feedback.
Yeah.
I know.
We went from,
uh,
17 people watching to two,
too,
but you know,
hey.
And we're related to both of them probably.
Yeah.
Now on the live feed,
that is.
Yeah.
Uh,
the people watching after the fact don't have any choice,
you know.
Sure.
No,
you're locked in.
You're locked in.
Yeah.
Um, cool, man.
Yeah.
Been a good week.
Yeah.
Appreciate you.
Appreciate it,
man.
Enjoy it.
Any other updates?
Uh,
you know,
we're working on that thing.
Yep, yep, that thing to be announced.
Yep, we're working hard on that.
And it's going pretty well as far as I can tell.
So that's exciting.
It is exciting.
Well, cool.
