And now they're talking about something called MR. Mixed reality, which is a little bit of both. McDonald's wants to bring its restaurants into the Metaverse. What? No way. I guess you go into the Metaverse and make the order. Sure. And then it delivers to you at your door.

I don't really want you to do that now. Otherwise, this would be quite a lot of monologue. A little weird. Yeah, Nick could jump in, I'm sure, but... Yeah, he might. I took French in high school. Ah. Fully.

Oh, very good. That's not French. It's not. I was clear in my throat, but I don't know what that was. That was excellent. Yes, it's called Ixnay Pig Latin A. Sure, sure. You know Pig Latin?

Isn't that the guy that isn't he a pro wrestler? I think so. Yeah, no, I do know him. Yeah. No, I don't know Pig Latin. Do you? No, not at all. How's the week been?

It's good. Good. We were just talking about this earlier. Yes. Uh, yeah. So, uh, not a lot of excitement at my house. My son made his middle school soccer team.

Oh, congratulations. He's excited about that. And, uh, I'll let him know. Yeah. And promptly,

uh, got sick and is now at home. Sick. So that's cool. That's no good. Yeah. It's not the vid, is it?

No, no. He did a little test on him. I, he's got a little sore throat situation. All right. I've been staying. Yeah,

away. Yeah. Yeah. That's good. But yeah, it's great. How about you? It's been good, you know, coming back from vacation.

Yep, very tan. A little tan, a little golden. It was, you know. And then we had our biggest clients here, like the day after I got back, which was great to have them. It was been a little bit of like a whirlwind. Fire drill. Fire drill. Yeah.

But it's been good. We had a great time. The kids had a good time. Highly recommend beaches, a resort in Turkshankas. A little free pub for you there. Sponsorship. Sponsorship, maybe. Call me.

Um, the, next trip free. The, uh, so, uh, yeah, the kids had a blast. I mean, this place huge. It felt like, I don't know, like seven resorts in one. Really? It really, uh, they have like, it's hard to describe, like, they have these individual buildings that all have pools and check-ins. So it really is like, I don't know, like seven units in one all on the beach. And they all have themes.

Huh. Like there's a French place and an Italian place. Mediterranean and they all have their separate check-ins and stuff, but you share all the amenities as like 21 restaurants. I was going to say probably have their own individual restaurants. Yeah. And so there's 21 restaurants on site, a 45,000 square foot water park. Jeez.

And it was like the kids had a blast. It was like Disney World, like a water park that was Disney, like a miniature Disney World. And they're old enough to where you can kind of let them. Yeah, we let them go and we kind of hung out. So the old one to watch the last one. Yeah. So, yeah, it was a good time. And, you know, just been grinding away on the week.

Rise and grind, bro. Rise and grind. Do you venture off territory when you're there? No. If we'd have been there for like seven to ten days, we were there for four nights, five days. Sure. There's so much to do on the resort. And with the beach there, too.

The beach is beautiful there. White and blue water. It's like, you know, And it's actually you can get in. Like some of those Caribbean islands, even Mexico, can be kind of rough, seaweedy. It's beautiful. Yeah. But you don't get in much.

There, the water's pretty calm. You can get in. Sweet. Sounds very nice. I'll have to check it out. And you get there direct from Charlotte. So, uh, very easy. Two and a half hour flight.

Two and a half. Yeah. Not bad. Not bad at all. Wow. Yeah. I'm confused about where Turks and Caicos is, I think. Right.

Bull of Bahamas. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Well, if I can find it, I'll visit. Yeah, just take your private helicopter there. Take it left at Cuba, right? Yeah, right above Cuba, actually, pretty close.

Sure. So, yeah, it was good. I noticed your daft punk t-shirt. I don't know, is that visible, Nick? Can we see that? Yeah, daft punk. And interestingly enough, they made some news this week. They released an old concert.

They're broken up as a group. I've been for a little bit. Yeah. but they did release on Twitch a concert from like 98 I want to say it was like a while ago it was like before they wore the even like the electronic like metal helmets and stuff like that so uh yeah they one time only release no replay no nothing so we missed it we missed it fantastic but uh saw that I was like all right and then you walk in with a daft punk t-shirt that was

not planned not clear it was not I've worn this shirt maybe twice in six months and today was the day. I like Daft Punk, though. I do too, hence the, you know. That's the shirt. It's not double dare, though. It isn't double dare. This shirt is actually an original,

but it could be 15 years old, the shirt. Might be older than that. Might be older than that. Did I, I don't think I had this shirt in, no, no, no, it's not that old. Yeah, it's not that old. I've been after college, but it wasn't, I don't think it was that far after college.

I don't think so I have a picture of my son sitting on my lap at maybe his first or second birthday and I'm wearing this shirt. He's almost 14. So you know it's at least that old. It's documentation. I've got the receipts. Yes, yes. It's been a good week.

We had William Branum on the podcast on Tuesday that released. Former Navy's 26 years Navy SEAL. Jeez. Serve 26 years. 10, 9 or 10 deployments. Talk about owing him a debt of gravity. Yeah. Gratitude.

And gravity. And gravity. The gravity. of the gratitude we owe. That's very good. Yeah. Spend it around my own, my own tripping over the words I turned into positive.

Yeah. But William was awesome. He owns a company called Naked Warrior CBD products. Okay. And does a lot in the area of CBD and therapies and different things for former soldiers and stuff. Sure. And so really great guests, doing a lot of great things. And, you know, it was real transparent about.

what it takes to be a Navy SEAL, which is being a badass. Yeah, I can't imagine. He's just describing what you go through. And I asked, I was like, how many people could actually do this? And he's like, you know, probably actually Mike could make it maybe more than you think, but how many actually get through it, not many. Yeah, no. That's a pretty elite group.

Yeah. I never, I could never. I probably wouldn't last five minutes if we're being able. They'd be like, get in that pool. I'm like, I'd be like, I'd pull. It's cold. I don't get in that. Much less like making you almost drown.

Yeah. And like unlock yourself under the water at 10 feet. Pass on that. Yeah. Stay on the ground. Stay on the firm surface here. Yeah. So he was great.

Next week, Pace Morby. He's the lead guy on triple digit flip. Okay. I'll call him, I guess, the host or lead. Cool name. Reality is he triple digit flip. He does some really unique ways for buying. houses and you know showing how you can make money buying houses with no money down and it's not

just like that no money down guy from back in the yeah the newspaper little tiny newspaper ads where that guy yeah newspaper ads and no money down little tiny ads little tiny ads yeah i never thought it made me sense like what are you doing yeah well he's not doing that he's actually buying and selling houses and doing showing you how to buy it with no money down doing a foreclosure called sub two is what it's called the type of financing he does but uh really cool cool guy pace was awesome very like probably the most thoughtful guess we've ever had really like just very easy but like complimentary and like he'd done his homework on the show and really just i don't know just really good guy that seems uh i'm gonna listen to that because i mean if that's if that's a

He's like the only thing like crushing it for our marketing right now is some, the emails we're doing for, the email flows. But, yeah, Spencer is out there. Him, they've gotten, they're kind of blowing up on TikTok. Him and Heidi is, they're blowing up on TikTok, him and Heidi. We've gotten into a little groove and doing a lot of stuff. And then he's doing a couple different, like, online reality shows. Like, so it's, he's out there.

Yeah, I saw there was an interview of him talking about something about the Hills where he, some date that he went on the Hills was fake or something like that. I don't know everybody's name on the Hills, but, you know, some girl. How can we all? We can't all know. I can't know everything. Yes. Everything all the once.

Jeez. Hallelujah. I try. You try. You do try. I do. So hard. Well, I think we should get to it.

Okay. It's time for another absurd holiday. There's no shortage of dumb things to celebrate. A redcast, social media holiday segments. Yeah. Dab. Let it play through. So, social holidays this week.

We've got one, two, three, four days. And quite a few big ones to get to. Okay. Ones you can't miss. Important ones. Important ones. They're always important, Joe. And these are the big ones.

Okay. Today, February 25th, is National Chocolate Covered Nuts Day. Well, you know. Okay. That's a good one to start with, I guess. Get your nuts covered in chocolate. Cover them up in chocolate. Where do you have that done?

I don't know. I was looking that up before the show. It was like, where do you get your nuts covered? You're looking that up on your hair. Is that why HR was talking? Yeah. And I was looking for the, you know, like the coating chocolate. Sure.

The stuff that turns hard. Like, you don't want just chocolate, like melted. You want it to like, you want the stuff. The magic shell. Yeah. That's what we wanted. Magic shell coding. Magic shell.

All you're nuts. You can't get the butterscotch. It's got to be the chocolate. Yeah. But because chocolate covered. nuts day. Yeah, well, it's a great day. It is a great day. Are you yawning? It's hard of yawning. You said a gun. Okay. We're boring him to death. Yeah, we are. Um, not to be out done. Um, it's national clam chowder day today. Sure it is. Why wouldn't it be? Clam chowda. Why wouldn't it be?

Is that like saving the, saving the planet. So you skip the straw. Like, don't give me a straw. I guess. So maybe it is. That's an easy thing to do,

I guess. Or just give you a paper one that I hate. Yeah. Or get one of those metal ones so you can break a tooth on it. Yeah. Those are the worst.

Those are the worst. See, they're the paper ones that dissolve into your drink and like in your mouth while you're, and it's like, ugh.

So they make straws out of, I've actually had a little experience with this. They make them out of, like, pasta. Like you can buy straws that are made out of like long tubes of pasta. Okay.

which is quite weird. Yeah. They've made a lot of advances. There's like M-P-1s. Oh, we're good. Yeah. A little CBD laced. Yeah.

Or just be a big boy, right? Yeah. Just drink without it. Yeah. You know, how old do you get it? I mean, you got to have a straw. Yeah. Not really.

Sometimes in restaurants, I'll use a straw just to, depending on how clean the restaurant looks. If it looks like, you know, then pop a straw in there. Just in case, you know? Pop a straw. Pop a straw. Pop a straw. Pop a straw.

she's doing stuff after school and everything like that. So I'm usually just picking up, like, to go or I'll throw something on the grill. It goes not really cooking, though. So I feel like,

yeah. Maybe you overstated it. Did I do it? I thought I was actually like I cooked this. I cooked it. Everybody picked it up. They let me in the kitchen at Applebee's and I cooked all this. I cooked all of it.

I picked Applebee's. It's also national pistachio day. Pistachio day on Saturday. Pistachio. Why are you pronouncing? All that French talk earlier. Pistachio. Mmm, pistachio.

I love pistachios. Yeah. It's so good. These pistachios. Could you put some chocolate on your pistachias? That's a great chocolate-covered pistachios. That's still a nut, isn't it? Is it a pistachio a nut?

Oh, yeah. All right. Here we go. We'll join these things up Friday and Saturday. Yeah. We get a full weekend of chocolate nut covering. Good Lord. It's also Saturday, National Teleferytale Day.

Yep. It's National Tooth Fairy Day as well on Monday. Okay. So if you have too much of the souffle, et cetera. Yeah, we get the tooth fairy. Yeah, exactly. How much do kids get for tooth fairy now? Five or ten bucks?

I would say five probably, but it's been a while. We've had some, like, poor Nash, like, had his tooth, like, had to get pulled and, like, shattered. He had, like, two-hour experience in the dentist. He got a 20 spot. Yeah, that one's worth, that one's worth, like, I might have worked more than that. Gift card or something. Yeah.

Yeah. Get out of free, jail free card or something. I don't know. I think we used to get a dollar. A dollar, maybe. Yeah.

Yeah. Inflation. There we go. It's, and finally Monday, February 28th. Is I doing that Friday, Saturday,

Sunday, Monday. Yes, Monday the 28th. Is National Public Sleeping Day? Why? Is that home? homeless day. Yeah. I like sleeping in public.

I don't know. When's the last time you slept in public? Maybe in a class in school? Yeah. I don't know. Sleeping in public. Nick? Oh, okay.

Public sleeping day. That's a great. That's a good point. I'm not going to tell my kids about this. That'll be falling asleep at school. Right. It's okay, dad. National Public Sleeping Day.

Kuala was because Polar deer, Bairday was before it. Sure. So it had me second guessing the spelling. That's fair. Right. It's an honest mistake. Stop talking about it.

That was the funniest thing. Anyone could have done it. Anyone. I'm glad that happened. That was great. It was good. Good stuff. All right.

Yeah, it was good. Now let's get to the important things. Trends in the Metaverse. Such as crisp, clear. Yeah, it's good. Like, I was playing the piano. It is.

Yeah, that's a synthesizer. Okay. The pianos don't sound like that. Synthesizer would. What's the thing? Theraman. You know what that is? No.

You know what Theraman is? Make that sound. It's like two sticks. Read my lips. Sure. No. Saw that one coming. Nick knows what it is.

So our trends in the Metaverse, we've got several. We've got to get to these. We've got to pick up the pace here. Sure. So there is obviously a lot happening in the Metaverse. Facebook's talking a lot about it. And they've got something come out because you've got AR, you've got reality, which is the world we live in sometimes. Regular, yeah.

You've got VR virtual reality. Sure. And now they're talking about something called MR. Mixed reality, which is a little bit of both. Okay. So technology that could allow a person wearing an MR headset to use a real-world object to trigger a. a virtual world reaction. Like hitting a video game character with a real world baseball bat.

Jesus. Is one of three types of extended reality technologies often associated with the Metaverse. Augmented reality exists with mobile games like Pokemon Go, but players cannot affect the digital world with a physical object. That's true. So virtual reality headsets like Oculus, Merse users into a fully digital world where they can interact with the environment.

So Facebook is working on these mixed realities where, again, you're in the VR world, but you can use physical objects that have interaction in it. So you've got the VR headset on. Let's say you've got a hammer right next to you. Sure. You've got to be careful what you're hitting in the real world with your goggles on. Sure. But in theory, that action, I guess it's tied to your motion and everything else.

So here's my question. Would it be any, like any hammer? Or is it a special hammer that you have to buy and it's a whole thing? More details coming, Joe. Sure. Not in the show notes, but it sounds like it's being developed, these mixed realities. Sure. Thank God.

Yeah. We can't get the real world right. And somehow we're trying to, you know, create this mixed reality. Maybe that's, maybe that's the great hope. Escape. Escape is that we, you know, screwed up the real world so much. We get in this mixed reality. Maybe that's where.

McDonald's looks to be the latest brand To tap into growing interest in the Metaverse They have joined They have filed trademarks for an entirely virtual metaverse restaurant that delivers your food, IRL in real life. In real life. Well, I don't understand what that means. So I guess you go into the metaverse and make the order.

Sure. And then it delivers to you at your door. For real. For real. Sure. That sounds like mixed reality. I've overheard it. Yeah.

Yeah. Right. So McDonald's is ahead of the curve. McDonald's has plans for both a virtual and real world dining experience that does and even require you hopping off your game to order. You are hanging out in the metaverse and you get hungry. You don't have to put down your headset. You walk into a McDonald's and place an order.

It arrives at your door a little while later. A little while later. That's very interesting. That's going to seem like real fast food, which is typically pretty slow. Yep, yeah, sure. You know, some faster than others, but yeah, you're absolutely right. Yeah. Man, that's, how the hell does that work?

Well, I mean, it's all tied to the Internet. So different than ordering on your app. I know it's the internet, right? I mean, but you know what's the difference between getting your Uber Eats app out? Right, right. So you're in the Metaverse and you order, it's all connected. So it's like ordering on the app, but you're in a McDonald's in the Metaverse. So Internet.

So Netflix is bringing its short form video feed. Fast laughs. I was not aware of fast laughs. Me either. To the TV, they're bringing short form video feature to the big screen that launched a year ago. TikTok inspired feed of funny videos had previously only been available on mobile devices.

It serves as a way to introduce Netflix users to new shows, movies, and comedy specials that they may want to watch. So I guess it was just kind of more of a vertical video format. Sure. They're going to reposition it for the television. I think I've seen that on the mobile app. You have fast laugh. I like that headline. But today, LinkedIn has announced that it's getting in on the podcast, Gold Rush. Yeah, right here is Radcast. That's the Gold Rush. Gold Rush. By launching the LinkedIn podcast network. News of the launch arrives during a moment of steep growth for LinkedIn and the podcast industry. Yes, it has.

An advertiser supported pilot program created in partnership with Verizon aims to transfer. forum podcasting into a more community-oriented industry. Hmm. So we might have to get the radcast on there. I was going to say, we'd be perfect for that, right? Yep. LinkedIn hopes to make it easier for listeners to engage with creators and vice versa. I will say this.

So, uh, I will say this. the one thing about podcasting that is kind of hard to do is, you know, we have our data, we know people are listening, we have our website where people can certainly send stuff. Sure. And we get DMs on our social channels. Okay. But there's not really a community aspect for like direct feedback, like of episodes and like that one, like a forum, so to speak.

Sure. Forums for them. And so if they. if they could bring that to life where the community and the engagement between creators, which we are, and the audience could be pretty interesting. Don't know how that will come to life exactly, but I do think there is a lot of white space for that.

Yeah. And I love interacting with, like, on live or whatever. I love that stuff. And I think that's probably the next phase for us is figuring out, we're working through it like the live, you know, doing this as a live show.

Yeah. maybe fielding questions, those sort of things. Sure. We did it. I mean, we did sort of do it. Yeah. Right. Yeah.
