Starting point is 00:00:00 Dr. Diabolicals Cliffhager. I mean, it comes up with these names, but are you guys roller coaster fans? I think they're taking a note from like Roblox, the like game where you have this completely like social life where you can interact with people. They're just kind of expanding Facebook and Instagram. No matter what at the end of the day, it's all about, you know, Chiquay has better service than everybody. So no matter how good people, like, I want to suffer through the Popeye's line.
Starting point is 00:00:27 Yeah. for knock off chicken nuggets, man. I just never thought I'd actually see a line for Popeye. You're listening to the Radcast. If it's radical, we cover it. Here's your host, Ryan Alford. Hey guys, what's up? It's Ryan Alford.
Starting point is 00:00:51 Welcome to the latest Radcast news. It's July 30th, 2021. It's Friday. I'm joined. As always, by Mr. Josh Hill Oh yes brother Put you on the spot there
Starting point is 00:01:03 I like to mix it up We can't have the same intro every time I'm always ready Just a few seconds late though And you know what We have some special guests today My friends And they're providing both
Starting point is 00:01:14 The friendship relief Which we'll get to in a minute Of exactly what today is But also the comedic relief Joey Joe Sean What's up brothers Welcome to the show Friendship relief
Starting point is 00:01:27 That's coming in pretty strong there. That's the Conan out of the game right out of it. Yeah. Sorry, I didn't want to you know,
Starting point is 00:01:35 oversell it or undersell it. But, you know, since it is, and I'll just go right to it, it's Day of Friendship, National Day of Friendship, International Day of Friendship. Did you know it?
Starting point is 00:01:44 I don't hate them, but I don't love them. They're just enough. Just enough. Just enough. Good enough the way we are. Yeah. Joey, Joe and Sean are,
Starting point is 00:01:56 I don't know what, What do you call yourselves? I don't want to call you. A comedic troupe. You know, whatever. Some of the funniest guys I know, Joe and I go way back to high school. High school, Clemson. You know, we didn't do anything bad ever.
Starting point is 00:02:14 It cleaned up. I bailed him out of jail a few times. But other than that, you know, we won't talk about any stories. But you can find them on TikTok on Instagram as Joe and Sean. And guys, you guys are lighting it up. And I was just like, started watching it. I know that guy. Joe went to high school and college with this kid.
Starting point is 00:02:36 Like suddenly you guys are blowing up on TikTok. I'm like, all right, we're going to get these guys in here on the radcast and helping out with some 80 stuff, doing some skits, doing some writing. So how did you guys actually come together, though? It was a crazy story. Yeah. You want to. And so in 1985, my parents got married. From that point on.
Starting point is 00:03:00 was there. I was there. I was not. I was, yeah, not entertained. That's what you guys' problem was, right? Yeah. Yeah. The cafeteria at Eastside High School. Yeah. No. Short story. Sean and I met in L.A. and then I was making videos here, and I met Joe who branded content for a gas station that I will not plug. Convenience store. Convenience store. Until they're paying us. The gas station convenience. Sure. He did marketing for them, and I was making videos, and we got linked up. And the rest is history. Now playing multiple characters.
Starting point is 00:03:40 We decided to have him on the news episode today. You know, Josh and I, Josh is the, I guess, definitely the funny guy at the agency. He doesn't know it. He may know it, but he's the closet funny guy. I bring him on and, you know, we'll be sitting here talking about something. He'll say something, and I'm like, you know, and we'll go on. I'll go home and Nicole will say, Josh is pretty funny. Strong audience of one for Josh.
Starting point is 00:04:10 Given our ratings keep increasing every time Josh is on. Maybe it's a- I sell out every podcast. Sell out every podcast. Exactly. I sent some subversion on Josh's in it, dude. He's trying to take the crown right. I'll fire him right now. Hey, hey, stop.
Starting point is 00:04:24 Can we mute their mics real quick? Yeah. But today is actually being July 3rd. It's two national social holidays, International Day of Friendship and Talking Elevator Day. What the fuck does that mean? I don't know. Do you're not supposed to talk in the elevator?
Starting point is 00:04:41 I guess it's a nice change of pace because every day I wish someone doesn't talk to me in an elevator. Yes. Any thoughts guys on Talking Elevator Day? I fucking hate Elevator. I got caught in an elevator one time. It was the worst experience in the life. I started taking off my clothes. What did you get caught doing?
Starting point is 00:04:57 I know the story. I got caught taking my clothes on. Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. I take the stairs from now on. Yeah, I wait going to one story building, so I've actually never been in an elevator. Yeah. My mother-in-law does not take elevators.
Starting point is 00:05:14 We have at our loft, you know, four floors. We're on the third. And I didn't know this about her. Maybe I'd heard it at some point. And we had them over the other week. And, like, I was downstairs when she came in. and then my kids, and I'm like, headed to the elevator. She goes towards the stairs.
Starting point is 00:05:31 And I'm like, we're on the third floor. She's like, yeah, I'm going to walk. I'm like, I asked the cold, like later, like, yeah, mom doesn't take elevators. Like, all right. What is elevator phobia? That's like a classophobia? You nailed it, I think. It's elevator phobia.
Starting point is 00:05:46 July 31st is elevator phobia day. What's her thought on escalators? Yeah. I don't know. We'll find out. I haven't been to a mall with her or anything. So, and she doesn't ride on planes. She's a wonderful woman, but she does not ride on planes and she does not take elevators.
Starting point is 00:06:05 So anyway. Too terrible ways to die. Well, she just won't be able to celebrate talking an elevator day, obviously. Yeah. Or plane crash. Talking a plane day. Talk to plane while it goes down. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:20 The holiday we all know and love. Yeah. Today's also my wedding anniversary, by the way, in case anybody cares. Hey, congratulations. Congratulations. Thanks. I'll tell my wife he said so. You talk to her anyway. Don't worry about it. He's been divorced for 25 years. This is still the anniversary. Yeah, if they were still together, this would have been 25 years. I just took the ring off yesterday. It's a big deal. Should have been diamond anniversary. Because I'm 60. Well, we've had a good week here at Radical. We did. I hope everyone saw the or watched the Ben Higgins episode, whether you're a bachelor fan or not, Ben, Ben, was pretty cool. We had a good episode there. And all you Hills fans, Spencer Pratt, will be on the podcast next week. It'll be releasing in a few weeks. You guys Hills fans?
Starting point is 00:07:07 You guys watched the Hills back in the day? Yeah, no, maybe. The Hills have eyes? Yeah, I've seen that. Sean looks like Spencer Pratt a little bit. I actually was a fan of the Hills because he was on it. Yeah, because my older brother was on it. Growing up in New Jersey, I always was jealous of these kids. lived in Laguna Beach. They lived like these magical lives. That was in New Jersey,
Starting point is 00:07:31 depressed. The Hills was my escape to reality. Oh, wow. Yeah. Was the Hills on your radar? Yeah, it's about a minute for it. Josh's too young. The Laura Conrad,
Starting point is 00:07:45 whatever, he was. Heidi Montag. Calm down, John. I'm fine, I'm just saying. Spencer's wife, but looking forward to having him. He's an interesting dude. He's, he hadn't ended up
Starting point is 00:07:57 crystal business on e-commerce and not that kind of crystal gas. But we'll have him on next week and look for that episode in the coming week. So a couple of news items in the least shocking news of the week. Google released some numbers where their advertising is up 61% year every year. And just a $50 billion in the second quarter of a week. That's great. In the second quarter or one. It's really great for them.
Starting point is 00:08:28 As a struggling startup, I'm really happy that they're getting some traction finally. Good for them. Leech shocking news, never. Maybe they'll get up there in the top websites. I thought this was interesting. So six flags in Texas just unveiled a new roller coaster, which is the steepest diving roller coaster in the country. Dr. Diabolicals cliffhanger.
Starting point is 00:08:52 I mean, who comes up with these names? but are you guys roller coaster fans I am I like roller coasters yeah yeah I'm into it what about doctor roller coaster tycoon fan I don't know if you guys were they more of a zoo
Starting point is 00:09:09 more of a zoo tycoon guy I think we're going to do a field trip for the next news episode whenever Dr. Diabolical's cliffhanger opens and we're going to mic up for that does your mother-in-law ride roller coasters We'll find out, won't we?
Starting point is 00:09:28 That might be an interesting subplot for the Radcast. Oh, yeah. We'll mic up the mother-in-law for her versus roller-golder. Will she do? Routher mother-law. Will she ride on a train? I don't know. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:09:44 And Josh, any, Josh always does our TikTok hits of the week. Other than Joey, Joe, and Sean, you know, what else has hit your radar? My feed has been full of not like Olympic highlights, but Olympians just geeking out over all the free stuff that they're getting. They're getting, they have this like swag bags. Yeah, they're like someone was walking through all the Nike gear they had for Team USA. Probably like probably 200 pieces of clothing. All custom made for them. And they've got access to these 24-7 like cafeterias and stuff.
Starting point is 00:10:21 They got free Coke machines. everywhere. Like Coca-Cola's bawling out, of course, uh, all-American. Keep those athletes highly nutrition, uh, with their coat. Yeah. I'm sure they drink it. They're pounded six coats before they swim. It's probably, it's probably the Coca-Cola with the cocaine in it, too. Uh, sure.
Starting point is 00:10:40 But even A-6 is out there doing like foot scans and like custom fitted shoes for free for the athletes, which is insane. But that's been super fascinating. But then it's all these like world-class Olympians who were just like jacked and like massive muscular. And then they're making TikToks about being too shy to go talk to like people that have crushes on and stuff. It's like, isn't that Olympic Village just like a big hump fest? Like isn't that really well it is? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:10 It's just a bunch of like. They finished their races and they're whatever they're doing. I just jumped over hurdles and now I'm going to go hurdle this. Imagine how powerful their offspring would be. They're just starting breeding. They're actually growing a super human race. That's what the village is for. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:31 Olympic pod people. Oh, no. Yes. I think that is the goal there. Maybe they can make lots of Olympic babies. Yeah. Just a couple decades down the road. It's just like, oh, he's an Olympian.
Starting point is 00:11:43 You know, that's crossing their minds. You know, like, well, you know, if this, a word to get pregnant, at least he's Olympian. It's going to be another country. The Olympic Village is permanent. I was like, yeah. Oh, yeah, I'm from Olympia. Olympia. Olympus.
Starting point is 00:11:58 Olympus. Just go back and die. Sure. Well, I'm just glad you guys are here on International Day of Friendship. That makes one of them. It's not very friendly. Yeah. That's the least friendliest thing ever.
Starting point is 00:12:19 All right. Coming up on the news, the first news article. of the week. Mark Zuckerberg. I mean, Metaverse here. Josh, this is right up your alley. So Facebook not only wants to own the quasi-real world known as the internet. Yeah. They also want to own the totally unreal AR world of the Metaverse. Oh, yeah. It's just, you know, another instance of how in touch the like ultra-wealthy
Starting point is 00:12:50 billionaires are with society. You know, they're only, doing stuff for the world, you know? Yeah. Like Blue Origin, that's for the people. Like, Zucks out here. They, I mean, Facebook owns, like, Oculus. And so they got their VR. They've got their, like, fake persona, like, profiles online.
Starting point is 00:13:11 I think they're just trying to marry that and just keep everyone online. So, wait, Facebook is trying to have, like, a VR world. Pretty much. They're kind of, like, creating this, like, I think they're taking a note from, like, Roblox, the game where you have this completely like social life where you can interact with people. They're just kind of expanding Facebook and Instagram. I can't wait to interact with my aunt's cat memes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:38 Those are good memes. All of that. Now the picture of the food, I can see the VR version. Yeah. It's almost like you can reach out and touch it. Are we going to be able to like use Facebook marketplace with this to you? Yeah, exactly. Going to the Metaverse and sell some.
Starting point is 00:13:52 some not real fabric. But I will say this. Like my kids put more value on like the Roblox skins than they do on like a bike. I mean like, and they're active. They play like every sport, but like they just don't give a shit about like physical stuff. Like the way that we used to like transformers or whatever.
Starting point is 00:14:17 You know, it's like give me a skin on my dude on Roblox. possible. My son's the exact same way. They play NBA, whatever, on PlayStation, and that's all he cares about. Gift card, PlayStation gift cards for birthdays.
Starting point is 00:14:32 He doesn't care about anything else. It's true. Next on our list, so Popeyes, the chicken sandwich wars are diminishing, and they have a new campaign coming out. We come in peace. Chicken nuggets from Popeyes.
Starting point is 00:14:48 I love a good nugget. you guys been into the chicken sandwich stuff dude that's all I'm about pretty much it's all you've been talking about for like a year at least I like how they're coming a hot out of the gate utilizing the UFO stuff yeah right uh oh our uh computer
Starting point is 00:15:14 charged are we changing camera angles here you get what are your what are your chicken sandwich highlights what are your top spots uh chicken sandwich what i like not not puff eyes yeah the best chicken sandwich i had was at that that gieha brewing company to be honest a little plug for them i guess uh yeah yes got a princess hot chicken oh yeah oh yeah that was excellent very good the uh what i think that no matter what at the end the day it's all about you know chickpe has better service and everybody so no matter how good
Starting point is 00:15:54 to be like, I want to suffer through a Popeye's line. For knockoff chicken nuggets, man. I just never thought I'd actually see a line for Popeyes. Neither did they. I wonder if they had a little moment where like Taco Bell released that Chalupa or whatever where the shell was a fried chicken piece. I wonder if they were just like, we've gone too far. We've created a monster.
Starting point is 00:16:23 we must repent for our sins. Yes. I don't know. You're going to see a big campaign on digital and TV for Popeyes. We Come in Peace. Third, I mean, I saw this. I was like, this isn't exactly marketing, but we're the ragcast.
Starting point is 00:16:38 We can talk about whatever we want. So Kanye's locked himself up in the Mercedes Ben Stadium in Atlanta, also used to be known as the Georgia Dome that's been blown up since then. But finishing his album in the Mercedes Stadium. Donda, more like Donde estada the album, Kanye. Donde estat Kanye. You guys, have any thoughts on Kanye, locking himself up in the Mercedes.
Starting point is 00:17:06 Who else can get to do that? I'm just going to go, what are you renting it out? Not surprising that. Yeah. He's the fan of the Mercedes Ben Stadium now. He's going to haunt it. He was wearing this panty hose over his head. That's actually great.
Starting point is 00:17:23 So good. Most people, when they go through a divorce, you know, like buy a Corvette. Sure. He's just like, I'm going to live in a football stadium. He moved into a public municipal stadium. Fantastic. And he's staying in a crappy, like, room, though. You see he's like caught on the floor?
Starting point is 00:17:40 Oh, yeah. He's like, he's roughing it in the Mercedes Stadium. Looks like I call his dorm. If he doesn't come back, Jack. Yeah. Right. Yeah, if he's not working out with all the, okay. Yeah, yeah, not jack.
Starting point is 00:17:53 I just start training. Okay. But now that's probably it, too. Sure. You're staying in a football stadium by yourself. There's weights. There's weights. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:00 And there's a field to run on sprints. Sure. Bleachers. Sure. You know. If Kanye is running bleachers, then I want to do that. Maybe that's going to be in his music video. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:18:11 Have you seen that old clip of him performing live? And he's, like, rapping. And he just sprints. Here is the Redcast News. God, it's like a 200 foot wide stage. It's massive. And he's just, like, full on. sprinting while like singing or rapping or whatever it's hilarious it's just out of the blue
Starting point is 00:18:27 i think he just needs somewhere to fit the uh mormon tabernacle choir yeah they can uh you know play with them perfect the uh that does he bring the choirs in like every every uh yeah now he does he's like surrounded now yeah he's good at marking though i'll give him that because like every time he does this and he's like all i'm done with it and then it comes out they're there i'll be there yeah yeah Joe's obsessed with his shoes. I do, I have. He collects them.
Starting point is 00:18:56 I have multiple, multiple pairs. He's eight pairs. Nine, nine, nine. His nine pairs are easy. Mint in box. Nice. Yeah. No big deal.
Starting point is 00:19:06 Do you want to put, let's put up your eBay handle? My wife would probably like for me to sell them. I hear about that a lot. When are you going to wear those? Why don't you just sell them? There's not the point. Four's happened 15 years ago.
Starting point is 00:19:18 I know, why is she still asking you. I'm still trying to run my life. Unbelievable. Probably because we still live in the same house. Our final news article today, Pizza Hut is launching a streetware collection. Also some historic items that seem to have already sold out. But bummed out the cops.
Starting point is 00:19:39 I was going for those. That's exactly what Joe was touching with Joe. And he's like, the only item anyone would want. Literally the only one I would buy. Yeah. Sold out. Yeah. You've got to drink his.
Starting point is 00:19:52 Vodka, soda, is something. That's true. I need a pair of those checkered pants, though. Oh, yeah. It's so me. Your Radcast uniform? Yes. Pizza, if you're listening, send us some streetwear.
Starting point is 00:20:07 What's the radical tracks? I want the pizza medallia necklace if they're going to send us something. What's next on the radar for you guys? Are you guys any, I know you just to finish some of your live shows. Any anything else on the radar as far as, uh, live acts or i know you got some some we talked earlier got some releases coming out on tic-tok anything else uh on the radar yeah joe has a show or joe's got a show august 7 pickins doing stand-up special guests yes we're gonna with uh we're doing stand-up
Starting point is 00:20:42 for barram and gunthrere jr and then we're going to do some sketches there as well i think the most popular character i do is not myself obviously uh and uh so this is this character and, yeah, Bickens County, performing arts center. And then we're going to do some skits with these guys. So you're still going to have Joey Joe and Sean there. Give the people what they want. Huge draw.
Starting point is 00:21:05 Huge, yeah. We're very popular. So if people are following you, they can find you to handle Joey, Joe and Sean on TikTok or Instagram. Like, what can they expect to see? Or YouTube. Or Facebook.
Starting point is 00:21:18 Anything everywhere. Any social media. Pinterest. Pinterest. I did start a Pinterest for it. Okay. What are some skits or some things that are coming up? Are you guys getting back in any of the ongoing characters
Starting point is 00:21:32 for any of the stuff that you haven't released or might be working on for your channels? Yeah, we have people who flip poems, sketch coming out. Joe and the Barry McGregnth Jr. character, Joe and I shot up. That character does well in the horror comedy world, so we shot like a pretty much a little mini film of a horror comedy. Nice.
Starting point is 00:22:01 I'm the bad guy. Definitely the bad guy, as Bart imitates life. Yes. Oh, we're shooting that project this weekend. There's a media company, Grimo, called So Crispy Media. They do a lot of BFX. Yeah. They're just unreal, but they're doing a...
Starting point is 00:22:21 They do is a popular series called Chalk Warfare on YouTube. We're talking like 15 million views. 69 million. Is it? 69 million views. And so they're doing a new short film. And they said we need three bad actors. Yes, fill the bill.
Starting point is 00:22:40 Picked up the phone called us right away. We accepted right away. We actually offered to do it. And they were like, yeah. That is how you have you saved in my phone. I just start typing B-A-D. Three space B-A-D. Well, we appreciate you guys coming on with us.
Starting point is 00:23:01 You're going to see a lot more of these guys on our content with Radical, on our client content. They've signed a non-exclusive always-on deal, right? Always, always, always. That's why he gave us the pagers. Do I have this collar around me? Like an emergency. 2 a.m.? Why did Josh administer that shot in my arm before we get a
Starting point is 00:23:26 It's a new vaccine. It's a radical vaccine. That's a radical vaccine. That's for gunneria. Why do you give you to Sean did? He thought you were Sean. He thought you were Sean. It's common mistake.
Starting point is 00:23:43 I like having you. It's not that bad. The vision comes up back after about a year. Yeah. Cool guys. Well, we appreciate everybody being on. You know where to find us.
