Starting point is 00:00:00 Why wait until December? At Minky Couture, we're celebrating Christmas in August. And that means big savings on the softest, coziest blankets you'll ever feel. Unwrap early joy with deals that make it easy to stock up on gifts. Or treat yourself to a little comfort. We're halfway to the holidays, and nothing says love like a luxurious Minky. Shop now, in store or online at MinkyCouture.com and bring home the joy of cozy. Everyone else is joining the Roblox bandwagon, so it makes sense, I guess.
Starting point is 00:00:33 It's like grassroots music production. It's kind of fun. What I want to know is, when does anyone not 12 years old or underplay Roblox? So now the same metaverse of things, everything's metacconnected. This to me is essentially creating record of ownership on the blockchain. That's all the smart contracts. Gotcha. You're listening to the Radcast.
Starting point is 00:01:03 If it's radical, we cover it. Here's your host, Ryan Alford. Hey guys, what's up? Welcome to the latest edition of the Radcast. It's a weekly marketing and advertising news on Friday, May 6th, 2020. What's up, Christina? Not much. How are you?
Starting point is 00:01:24 I'm good. Hang in there. Did you have a good sinko, Jemayo? Oh, yeah. Lots of tequila. Lots of shots. Chips. Some body shots. With my wife, of course.
Starting point is 00:01:33 Of sure. Of course. Didn't need to know that. But happy for you. Happy for you. Love that for you. Yes. How about yourself? Lots of K-So. There you go.
Starting point is 00:01:42 I had a show that night. So, I played low on the alcohol. Yes. Yes. It's been a good week. Yeah. So far. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:51 Show's going well. Very. Yeah. We close this weekend, which is bittersweet. Okay. It's been a good run. All right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:57 And is good or better or, you know, overall impressions, like, you know, what you expected? It absolutely exceeded my expectations from, like, beginning to end. It's been a great process. I think the show is really, really solid. I'm very proud of it. Nice. Yeah. That's cool.
Starting point is 00:02:14 It's nice when hard work pays off. Yeah. That's because sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it doesn't. It always pays off. You get a lesson from it. You know, my dad would say.
Starting point is 00:02:24 I was going to say that's such a dad thing to say. Yeah, I'm team work smart. not hard. Yeah. But it's always nice when the hard work pays off. It's been a good week. You know, this was on the news radar. It wasn't important enough to make an article.
Starting point is 00:02:43 But if anyone, if you listen to podcasts on Facebook, they're shutting down Facebook podcast on June 3rd. And I can say this, Riley, that, you know, it was our least popular platform. They never obviously pushed it in the algorithm because even though our show is top 100 consistently in marketing, it never got any traction on Facebook. Right. And so they obviously didn't push it in the algorithm or try to make a real gunpow. Yeah, I can't imagine they made anything off of offering that. No, I don't think of any audience because I don't think they like prioritize it.
Starting point is 00:03:21 It was like kind of a me too thing. Right. So anyone out there, if you have a podcast or you're thinking. about launching one on Facebook. It shuts down on June 3rd. Now you can't. Or you have a month to do it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:33 Build quickly. I think actually it's shutting down faster to that for when you can actually upload. I got an email today that said, you know, we're no longer supporting it. And it's going to be coming off the platform. I'm like, okay. Whomp. Who cares?
Starting point is 00:03:49 I thought this was cool too. So Allison Frenchie, who was on the show a few weeks ago from camera IQ, caught this article right before we came on the show. TikTok is giving brands a way to create augmented reality effects for its social video app with the addition of camera IQ software tools. Wow. To prepare for release day, the company collaborated with customers including Warner Brothers and Estee Lauder to create branded AR content on the social video app.
Starting point is 00:04:19 This coming from Allison, this is the very, just the very beginning of AR on TikTok and still the very early stages for AR overall as a vehicle to drive brand engagement. Yeah. So old Allison working direct with TikTok. Oh, you know, started here, folks. Just kidding. All these connections. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:38 So congratulations Allison. TikTok getting in on more and more AR. I saw one of the things that said it organically got like four million views. Wow. One of the posts. So four million. Organically. That's insane.
Starting point is 00:04:54 Yeah. No ad. no nothing. So that's cool. Grats Allison. I hope that's a profitable venture with TikTok. Hopefully you're gouging them. There you go.
Starting point is 00:05:03 Exactly. Regularly. But it's cool. It's been a good week. If you listened, Tuesday, Tauric, Tarek, excuse me. I always want to say Torek. It's Tarek. Torek El Moussa joined the show from Flipper Flop, Flipping 101.
Starting point is 00:05:21 Tarek is a cool guy. He really let his hair down. and kind of opened up of what it took to be successful and even gave some dad stories of, you know, his dad not picking him to be on the team. He was, yeah, he was candid about his struggles. And, you know,
Starting point is 00:05:41 while he's had a lot of success recently, it wasn't always that way. So if you want to learn about flipping, you get some good tips on flipping and real estate and kind of the path to success. So, car was great. next week, Mark Evans, DM, the deal maker. Drum roll, please.
Starting point is 00:05:58 Drum roll. Mark was cool. I will say that. It's kind of fun to go, the deal maker. You know, I need something like that. Ryan offered the, I don't know, the ad maker. Yeah, we got to get you a title. What is it, the show, The Profit.
Starting point is 00:06:12 We got to find something for you. I know, I need something. The profit sounds good, you know, like, I don't know. We'll workshop it. We'll workshop it. Yeah, workshop it. But Mark Evans, DM, the deal. filmmaker. Mark was cool. Been texting a lot with Mark actually. Really nice guy. Really approachable.
Starting point is 00:06:29 I call, I would use the word available. Like for someone that's busy running a lot of businesses and doing things, he makes himself available. Yeah. Which is a characteristic that I highly appreciate, you know, because we're all busy. And no one is present because you're always connected to a phone or a watch or something. So that's, that's a nice word to describe someone. Yeah. So Mark was cool. Talks about all his businesses. He gave a lot of great insights for how to grow business, how to think about business. So the deal maker himself, Mark Evans joined next week. You'll see it everywhere. You listen or watch podcasts on Tuesday. What's that? Except Facebook. Well, it might be on Facebook. Maybe one of the last episodes
Starting point is 00:07:09 accepted. The last one on Facebook. So everyone that wasn't going there anyway, please don't go there. We're creating demand for Facebook that was obviously not there. Right. But yeah. So I've enjoyed getting to know Mark, and he is really cool and has a great Instagram profile. So you can follow him. Mark Evans, DM on Instagram. Get some insights before the show next week. I am wearing the newest hats.
Starting point is 00:07:38 The brand new one, yeah. So the Radcast does have a new hat from branded bills. Our official merchandise sponsor. Got the textured logo. And our little colors in there. I've got the other hats next to me here. What you see here. So we've got both hats now.
Starting point is 00:07:56 You know, a little... Neutral and color. Neutral and color. And a little textured. This rogue patch, customized by... They do custom hats. Yes. Any of the logo they can customize.
Starting point is 00:08:07 So you get custom orders. They've got the new streetwear collection. They've got the new American Flagg Elite collection. Radcast 20 is your promo code. Go get them some love. Shoot me a DM. I might give you a hat. If you anybody, I had a couple people that have DM me and take advantage of
Starting point is 00:08:22 take advantage of that. So shoot me a DM. I'll mail you a hat if you send me something like funny. Show me a joke. There you go. And then we'll read the jokes on the podcast. Exactly. But yeah, 20% off all orders using Radcast.
Starting point is 00:08:36 20. Go to Radcast.com. Click on sponsors. Click on branded bills and get immediate discount right in the cart. So Radcast 20. Share it with friends, family. Great, great streetwear, shirts, hoodies, hats. is what they're known for.
Starting point is 00:08:53 Hey, it's branded bills. Bills. You get it. Right. Branded bills, branded bills.com. New news on a new sponsor, maybe as early next week. So hold your breath for that one. On pins and needles.
Starting point is 00:09:06 Yes. We do have a few social holidays. Yes. Yesterday was Sico de Mayo. Indeed. And today, interestingly enough, after Sincodan, I are International No Diet Day. There you go. Hell no, I'm not dieting.
Starting point is 00:09:21 Even if you're feeling all. bloated from the salt yesterday. But it allows me to continue. Exactly. You know, queso, chips and salsa. I'm going straight into the weekend with no diet. Burgers? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:32 Gotta love a burger. Yes. And then it's National Space Day. Like outer space or like give me space? I think it's, yeah. A little bit of both. Take it any way you want. Take up more space.
Starting point is 00:09:44 Yes. Yeah, I know. Definitely going to take up more space. Creating space. I think it's meant to be like Be me up, outer space. Beem me up, Scott. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Beam me up, Scottie. Right up there in space. And Jeff Bezos will blast us up in space. Oh my God, right. Right. Yeah. In real space, not just meta space. Yes.
Starting point is 00:10:07 So National Space Day, go buy a NASA shirt. Like, I'm going to, you know, make your own brand and then buy it from branded bill. Yes. Old Navy has a bunch of space, NASA space shirts. Yes. May 7th. It's Saturday.
Starting point is 00:10:22 National Fitness Day. There you go. No diet for a day, and you're going right into working it off. It's good, though. It's good. Yeah. I'm team prioritized fitness and then meet what you want. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:32 I'm going to do some sit-ups or something on the boat at the lake. There you go. Some planks. Yeah. Walk the plank. On the plank. Hey. She's a comedian.
Starting point is 00:10:45 Yes. She's got some good lines. So National Fitness Day on Saturday, get your fitness in. And May 8, Mother's Day. Always a good one. Sunday. Don't miss that. We're not going to miss around.
Starting point is 00:10:58 Yep. Moms. I've got a mom. My wife's a mom. We've all got moms, yeah. We've all got moms. So celebrate mom. We're not going to cloud that with any fun other than just Mother's Day.
Starting point is 00:11:10 Yeah. Do yourself a favor. Send mom a card. If you're listening to this on Friday, you still have time. Yes, you do. Yep. And it takes a little. Just say thank you.
Starting point is 00:11:19 Yes. And after all of this, no diet day, National Fitness Day, Mother's Day, it's grab yourself a Miscato Day. I'm going to have to. I will happily celebrate that. My wife, who's a mom, loves Mascato. So maybe I combine Sunday and Monday in the two. There you go.
Starting point is 00:11:37 Major brownie points there. Yeah. Nicely done. Are you a Miscato drink? So if I am, so if I bring Mascato into the office on Monday and like, is that cool? Yeah, sure. Why not? Excellent.
Starting point is 00:11:49 Excellent. There we have it. There's your social holidays of dote. Lots of stuff in the Metaverse and NFTs. It just grows and grows and grows. Spotify just entered the Metaverse with the official launch on Roblox. Happy for them. Company says it's become the first music streaming brand to have a presence on Roblox
Starting point is 00:12:08 with the launch, marketing its entrance into the sector. Spotify's presence on Roblox is called Spotify Island. Oh, it's fun. The company explains that through this interactive world, It plans on creating a place where fans can link up and create new sounds together. Hang out in digital spaces and gain access to exclusive virtual merch. Two words I enjoy. Spotify says that it's creating an easy opportunity for artists to connect with fans and a partner with Spotify on the creation of in-game virtual merchandise.
Starting point is 00:12:45 So, I mean, everyone else is joining the Roblox bandwagon, so it makes sense, I guess. It's like grassroots music production. It was kind of fun. When I hear Spotify Island, I don't know why my brain here went, there was an old TV show called Fantasy Island. It wasn't dirty. It was kind of, it was funny. It was like this remote deserted island that like a bunch of rich people went to.
Starting point is 00:13:11 It was the most cliche thing ever. Totally. I don't know why my brain went there. I mean, I want to call it Spotify Island and like just combine the words. But that's how my brain. work. Hey, I like it. Spotify Island.
Starting point is 00:13:24 Can you get in for that, Nick? I think so. Yeah. Are you going to get on Roblox and go to Spotify Island? Definitely. See, it's filled. Why am I? You're going to build yourself some merch?
Starting point is 00:13:37 There you go. Yeah. Hey, it's a good spot. Look, Spotify, still relevant with the youth. Everybody's on. What I want to know is when does anyone not 12 years old or under play Roblox? like I, you know, so. Speaking of someone, I guess it's just purely marketers.
Starting point is 00:13:56 Yeah. Like, that's just where you market for them. You know, it's like, I don't know any adults to play Roblox. Other than me that get on it with my kids because I'm researching these brands. Right. But I mean, that's the thing, right. It probably is there's a certain age demographic of children that are on it. And then you also target their parents because their parents are going to at least be familiar with the jargon.
Starting point is 00:14:18 Yeah. I don't know. But Spotify Spotify Island That's what I would have called it Which is why I'm on this side of things And not that side of things Spotify Island
Starting point is 00:14:31 Yes In-game virtual merchandise Surreling I know I do want to make a song Go in there and make a jingle There you go Create new sounds
Starting point is 00:14:45 You know We don't have enough of them DJ Spotify land Ryan, the DJ, that can be your thing. That is. I did have to name DJ Hardball back in the day. I had a friend that called me that and I have no idea why I can't remember why. Bring it back.
Starting point is 00:15:02 Yeah. Petitioned to bring it back. Siri A brings live football slash soccer to the Metaverse. Yay. It's football in the world. It's soccer in the U.S. I had to put a slash in there. I was like to remind myself because at first I thought I was thinking the NFL football.
Starting point is 00:15:18 But no. actual football. Italian top flight football league Syria has become the first league in the sport to broadcast a match on the Metaverse. Last weekend, it was made available to viewers in the Middle East and North Africa in the Nemesis Metaverse. To power the broadcast, they worked with telco partner Tim and blockchain
Starting point is 00:15:40 to create a dedicated Serie A room on the nemesis. There you go. It sounds so threatening. It does. I know. I was like, is this like the platform or an enemy or what? I thought it was. Yeah, I thought he was a partner.
Starting point is 00:15:55 He's really a nemesis. Alas. Yeah. Misled. Yeah, I don't know. But, okay. Feels for a European. I mean, if this definitely feels like something that wouldn't happen over in Europe first.
Starting point is 00:16:05 So you have to go into the to the metaverse, which is, you know, virtual world to watch the real soccer game on the nemesis. Adding some steps there for me with that one. Why don't I just flip on the TV? It feels a little clunky. Exactly. I don't know. All about status. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:24 Trends. Trends. PR. The metaverse of things, this startup is using a microchips to turn physical objects into NFTs. Imagine a world in which your most prize physical possessions. A prodipers. A pair of Nike dunks. A Rolls Royce.
Starting point is 00:16:43 Could be indelibly marked as yours. for theoretically the rest of eternity so that in the year 3000 when future archaeologists unearth these historic artifacts, they will decode high-tech data that traces all the way back to your ownership. That's the promise of the blockchain
Starting point is 00:17:01 for digital assets like NFTs. But would it be like high-tech in, you know, hundreds of years when it's old tech? Sure. Don't overthink of, Christina. Don't think it. It doesn't make sense to anyone noted. Yeah. It's best that you don't overthink these things. I'm not overthinking. I'm just thinking about it in general.
Starting point is 00:17:25 Americaana Technologies, a new startup funded by the likes of Reddit founder, rapper, future, and OpenC wants to bring those possibilities to real world assets. It's much like the revolution brought by the Internet of Things, but in Web 3. That's evolved into the metaverse, the metaverse of things. Instead of the Internet of Things. And you know the Internet of Things was. That's just when everything becomes connected, like your doorbell, your car, everything's the internet connected. So now they're saying the metaverse of things, everything's meta-connected. So this to me is essentially creating record of ownership on the blockchain. That's all this is.
Starting point is 00:18:12 Smart contracts. Gotcha. And they're making it really complicated here with a PR that's ridiculous. Very complexly. When it essentially, so you put a microchip on that physical thing, it creates record that you own it. So it's sort of like, again, a digital certificate of ownership. Right, contract almost. That's how I would have phrased all this and if you own the product, I would call it.
Starting point is 00:18:36 Right, right. But okay, digital certificate of ownership. Interesting. You would understand what that meant, right? Versus and everything else I said before. Sure. Which sounds like a jargon. It makes sense.
Starting point is 00:18:46 It's just the idea that you would need it. to, that you're going to find it, you know, in X amount of years. Yeah, that kind of confused the whole thing. He just said I wanted to sell it and make sure that it wasn't a fake or that I was actually the rightful owner of it. Sure. There you go. I mean, you put it on the house too.
Starting point is 00:19:05 Yeah. There you go. The chip on the home, start all the, stop all the bullshit title work that happens when you sell a home and you get. See, and that's where it makes sense practically. Yeah. Now I'm on board. It doesn't have to be the metaverse thing. Just call it the digital ownership of things.
Starting point is 00:19:20 Right. Digital tracking of ownership. Yeah. There you go. Digital filing. But you don't get press or information unless you make it super complex and super hard to understand. Meta Pizza, NFT, pizza pop-ups in the Metaverse. There are only a few things that are universally common among people.
Starting point is 00:19:40 We all breathe. Speak for yourself. We all feel. We all love pizza. We can agree with that. I love some pizza. It's same. Meta Pizza NFTs delivers a hot and ready collection of your favorite slices dressed up in the hottest pieces.
Starting point is 00:19:55 Plus, being a holder also means that you score some freeza. I like that. Meta pizza's Dow remains focus is to launch a series. Main focus is to launch a series of pizza parlors where holders can come in to enjoy eating for free alongside their fellow metaverse enthusiasts. With these pop-ups, taking only a fraction of the money in time, it would take to run a full-time physical store that allows flexibility and location and the ability to reach a large portion of holders, meaning that everyone gets their slice.
Starting point is 00:20:31 It's kind of catchy. 100% controlled, unkept, and expanded by the community, upkept, excuse me. I really changed the whole article, unkept, upkept, and expanded by the community, 100% of all profits from community driven stores and pop-ups will be reinvested back in a few furthering the project. So pizza pop-ups in the Metaverse.
Starting point is 00:20:56 Pretty straight forward. Yeah. I can get behind this one. I want some meta-pita. What's your pizza topping of choice? I mean, banana peppers. Solid. I will say this. Sidewall
Starting point is 00:21:11 has these little like sweet slash hot peppers It starts with a pee. Pepper, chiny peppers? Is it those? No. Okay. As long as you know that. Read my lips.
Starting point is 00:21:25 No. It's not that. It's like pepina. There's something. Sure. It's not those. Okay. I believe you.
Starting point is 00:21:33 Those are kind of like a spin-off of banana peppers or whatever. But these are like red. Yeah. And they're tasty. So I'm doing you no favors by not naming them. You just get to wonder. I'll Google it. It's fine.
Starting point is 00:21:45 visit our official non-sponsor, the sidewall pizza here. The best. In the upstate. My favorite. In other news, Gatorade files a trademark to enter the Metaverse. That's fun. The Metaverse trademarks just keep coming this time. Sports Drink Powerhouse Gatorade is getting in on the action.
Starting point is 00:22:04 According to Trademark Attorney, the company filed a claim from the USPTO on April 27th to create virtual beverage products among other digital items. Gatorade is just the latest large corporation to launch a Mitterverse campaign. And this could be the start of a virtual battle for sports, strength, supremacy in the METAverse. Stakes are high. Yeah. What's the other power aid? Powerade and Gatorade battling in the Metaverse.
Starting point is 00:22:35 There it is. Let's get them on roadblocks and get them smack them on each other. Is vitamin water up there? Would vitamin water be involved? Who knows? Read my lips. No. Just the two.
Starting point is 00:22:46 They're a small player. I don't know. There'll be all right. I don't know if that's really a sports drink if it's more like a alternative beverage. Sure. You know, you can't drink it, I guess. It's no different than anything else. Yeah, than the pizza or the Wendy's.
Starting point is 00:23:05 Maybe. Here's it is. Here's how I could see this playing out. Even though I think it's a little ridiculous. Your avatar is getting tired. Right. you're running out of juice, so to speak, and you've got to drink Gatorade to kind of power up. Those electrolytes.
Starting point is 00:23:22 Yeah, to stay going. I mean, if they need shoes, maybe they need, you know, sustenance too. Yeah. Metastinences. Medistence. Medistence. I don't know. You know, everybody's getting in on the metaverse. Got to advertise somehow.
Starting point is 00:23:40 Yeah. I think it's... Stay relevant. I think it's relevancy advertising and PR still. I need to see this in action. Totally. Other than you just being the brand. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:50 Yeah. Okay. I need a power aid up. I just want to see like powerade and gatorade get into like, you know, the sports strength wars like Pepsi and Coke. Yeah. Exactly. I'll just punch each other in the metaverse.
Starting point is 00:24:04 Call of duty. Sports stream battle version. In this corner, we have Gatorade led by Michael Jordan. Over here we have powerade led by. led by Shaquille O'Neal. Shaquille, I guess, whoever was on Powerade, you know, some tennis player probably or something. Probably.
Starting point is 00:24:24 We have Raphael in the doll. There you go. There you go. Rafa versus Jordan. Supremacy for sports strengths in the Metaverse. There we go. Hey, I just created something might be more interesting than this article. Pixel Canvas presents a customizable Web3 Metaverse.
Starting point is 00:24:41 Power by Pure Web. Pixel Canvas, a Pure Web, Premiere, Premiere. partner has previewed Omnia, the first of its kind customizable Metaverse for Enterprise, launching in June. It's a Metaverse built on Unreal Engine that will give end users a stunning 3D experience, which enabling creators and businesses to host Metaverse experiences at scale. So no downloads or special equipment needed. It's Genesis collections will include uniquely designed environments.
Starting point is 00:25:14 mini games and in-world experiences from pixel canvases library that be really available to members. So this is a way, you know, I thought this was interesting because it's a way for you to kind of like start building your own experiences within the metaverse. What I don't know is it still comes back to like there's like 27 of these metaverses. Right. Sandbox. Omnia, Pure Web. Nemesis. Nemesis.
Starting point is 00:25:43 Like, I don't know how the. intersection and all these things is coming together. Yeah, like, for as trendy as it is, I don't understand how this is streamlining anything. It just kind of feels like it's splitting. Because even when you had like gaming, you had Xbox. Right. You had PlayStation. Okay.
Starting point is 00:25:58 Well, no, it was really just like Sony versus Nintendo. And it was like, okay, I'm going to choose one. I'm going to go to town and some games that are crossing over and all that. Right. But you had two platforms. Right. Now there's 37 of these platforms and 26 executions. And it's great.
Starting point is 00:26:12 I get where they're going. and no one's like denying like some of the stuff is the future. But there's going to have to be some big players. I know meta, Facebook changed their name. It's probably going to be in the midst of all this. But how all this stuff works together. Yeah, the longevity is definitely what's interesting to me. You know, we're talking about this because we're marketing and advertising news and this stuff crosses over into it.
Starting point is 00:26:37 And certainly we're informing our listeners. But the mainstream is not aware of all this. and how all this comes together is anyone's guess. So proceed with caution. Be aware. Be aware. But if you do want to get some good PR, just put Metaverse, NFT, attached to it, or Web3. Yep.
Starting point is 00:27:00 You know, instead of anything that might make it easier to understand. That's the traffic button. I do like this. Snapchat partnering with Cameo to streamline brand creator ad deals. Snapchat unveiled a partnership with the video shoutout app Cameo. as part of its presentation at the Interactive Advertising Bureau's newsfronts Tuesday. The SNAP and Cameo program was developed with Cameo for Business and gives Snapchat advertisers access to the platform's talent pool of over 45,000 personalities
Starting point is 00:27:31 who create custom short video ads to run on the social media app. Service expect to become wildly available. I do think Cameo is pretty cool. Have you ever played with that? Have you ever ordered one? No, I haven't, but I'm just familiar with it. You know, I'll never forget. I think the first one I saw, God Rest his Soul, just passed away.
Starting point is 00:27:53 Was Gilbert Godfrey? Like doing one? He was on there. He just passed away a few weeks ago. There are a lot of actors from the West Wing who do them. And I've thought about getting one for a friend of mine. Yeah, like happy birthday or something. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:08 It's, I think it's fun. I do too. I kind of wanted to use it for like marketing purposes, like, you know, to promote. promote something. I think that's like against their rules. I was going to say, I wonder if you could do that. Yeah. If they didn't let you.
Starting point is 00:28:19 I think you can do it like if you're, if you don't just call all and out like make the script like something that's just promoting it. Right. But maybe just saying like the name or something. I don't know. Settlety is key. Like radical. Right.
Starting point is 00:28:30 Right. Yeah, we can warm in there. What's one of your favorite words? Radical. Oh. Is that so? There we go. You back door our way into this.
Starting point is 00:28:40 But cameo and Snapchat. I feel like Snapchat's fade. a bit, but I do like cameos. I like that they're bringing it and having it integrated. And that pairing makes sense to me. Yeah. So get on there and check out Snapchat and cameos. Coming soon.
Starting point is 00:29:00 Amazon is looking to lure brands with new streaming tech integrations, made its parents, also at the news fronts, showcased, focused on three areas of its video business, ad-supported live streaming and the streaming rights to NFL Thursday was going to effect next season. They're obvious both prime video and free-vis originals are beta testing a virtual product placement tool that can drop approved brands into programming on a plug-and-play basis after filming has wrapped. That's cool. That's going to be interesting. I want to see how that happens. Fix it in post.
Starting point is 00:29:36 Virtual product placement. So I guess you can like like in this table right here, you can just like virtually drop a Coke on there. Right. Or if you had a soda on there, you could probably just put a label. That's kind of nice. Well, Nick kind of does that now. You've had added in stuff, sort of, right? Maybe not per se, but that's feasible, right?
Starting point is 00:29:55 Yeah, definitely. So we can start adding in sponsors after the fact to the Racket. It's not easy, though, right? That's, that's, it can be a pain, can't it? Depends on the software, you know. Yeah. Like, you could put, like, if you're watching the video, like this is based right here, we could put a logo or something like right there.
Starting point is 00:30:12 If we wanted like after the fact, like someone listening wanted to add a sponsor and, you know, wanted us to go back and back trace all our episodes, take a lot of work and you'd pay a lot of money. But we could put your logo right here in theory, right? Right. It's no different. So that's cool. I like it. New tech iterations from Amazon.
Starting point is 00:30:33 Yeah. I think we talked about this earlier, but officially Starbucks is launching NFTs this year, offering unique experiences and benefits, air quotes. Would you like an NFT with your Starbucks latte? Coffee Giant this week announced its plan to enter the Web 3 space with the launch of its own NFT collection later this year. They're going to have collectibles and exclusive experiences, so it's coming soon.
Starting point is 00:31:01 There you go. Virtual coffee with your coffee. More beverages. Exactly. Your avatar can be hopped up on caffeine just like you are. I'm fascinated in the Metaverse. I might be more intrigued by it. Cool down with a Gatorade bath.
Starting point is 00:31:14 A bath in the Irish Spring thing. Yeah. Exactly. Instagram is testing a TikTok-like full-screen feed. Yeah. A new Instagram test would make the app look even more like TikTok. According to TechCrunch, Instagram is experimenting with full-screen virtual home feeds. Upon opening the Instagram app, users immediately, see vertical content meant to bring video more front and center.
Starting point is 00:31:42 Yeah. Cool. I get it. I mean, that's what happens. You open TikTok. It's like, boom.
Starting point is 00:31:47 Whole screen. You know? I don't even think about this. Like, when I open Instagram, I don't even know if I would have noticed that this was a change. But when you open Instagram now, you don't immediately get hit with video.
Starting point is 00:32:00 You get hit with your feed. There might be a video in it. Right. When you click Reels. You've got the borders of the app. Yeah. Like you're, you know. I remember back in the day when it had to, like your pictures had to be square.
Starting point is 00:32:12 I get so annoyed with that. So, you know, maybe I would have noticed it. Yeah, it makes sense. Yeah. It's just, I don't know. It's a little me too-ish. It's like, well, I think it's interesting. All these brands are copying each other as opposed to trying to find ways to set themselves apart.
Starting point is 00:32:32 Yeah, to innovate. Yeah. How do you innovate? Right. You would be cool is maybe like, in. Instead of like one, it brought up multi-screen, like four screens, like four videos. Like so your mind can really go crazy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:45 Yeah. I mean, constantly stimulation. Oh, right. Which one do I like best? And you can immediately touch the one you want to see. Yeah. You know, you kind of like a, I don't know, Tinder for Instagram videos. Like, which video would I like best?
Starting point is 00:33:00 It was generally help with analytics. Yeah. Probably. Hey, gamify it a little bit, guys. Like innovation. I mean, I'm just, I'm throwing shit out there. Yeah. So it's not quite as mindless.
Starting point is 00:33:09 Yeah. Like, don't just meet to it. There's something there. Yeah. Yeah. It could be like back to that tender left and right thing. Like whether, like if you like it or don't like it. Like right the videos.
Starting point is 00:33:20 How that would inform your algorithm. There you go. That was free folks. You know, it took me all of like 30. I actually like really like that because you could have like a celebrity on one side and then someone you actually know and decide, okay, who do I. And if you push up or down, it's a maybe sometimes always. Yeah. Or later.
Starting point is 00:33:37 always, maybe, never. Oh, my God. Copy right trademark. We're starting our own social media. That should be the app. Like, I sometimes want to see these videos. I always want to see these videos. I never fucking want to see that.
Starting point is 00:33:49 Yep. And maybe. Ask me again later. Ask me in two months. Right. There you go. Up down, left, right center. There you go.
Starting point is 00:33:57 I mean, how hard is it to innovate folks? There we go. We just innovated the entire video experience for reals. Call me Instagram. That would, that would trademark that. Slide them into those DMs. Slide them into the DMs. So TikTok, full screen.
Starting point is 00:34:13 I think that's enough news for today. I'd agree. We covered some stuff. Parting words. No, not today. Have a great weekend, everybody. Yeah. Yeah.
