Starting point is 00:01:46 Here is the Radcast News. It's Friday, September 30th, 2022. Our weekly marketing, advertising and business news episode of the week, I'm joined as always by, Christine Nagasaki. My yellow glasses. Mr. Nick Weaver on the ones and twos. Yo, yo.
Starting point is 00:02:04 What's happened? What's happening? Not much. It's a blustery day here in South Carolina. It is getting blustering. It feels good, though. Yeah. Our pre-Hurricane weather.
Starting point is 00:02:16 Yes, it's gusty. And it's being a hurricane, anyone that's been impacted. Yes. I want to send our thoughts out there. It looks, I mean, I don't know all the numbers or anything yet. No, either. It looks pretty nasty. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:28 seen some pictures of uprooted trees. Yeah. I don't know. It's, you just, when you live on the coast, it's like, you know,
Starting point is 00:02:36 like, I would just, I would, I guess you always have to have it in the back of your mind a little bit. No, thank you. But then you, it probably goes just long enough,
Starting point is 00:02:43 because you know how we are as humans. Right. It's kind of like a woman having a baby. Right. You know, like you'd never do it again. Block it out. We block it out.
Starting point is 00:02:51 And I've never had one, but I just know, because I just imagine. I'm like, how do you go through that? How do you put yourself through it more than once. And then the same thing with a hurricane. Like, okay, it happens, but they, there's probably spread out enough that you're like, okay, we live in a wonderful. It's so
Starting point is 00:03:06 awesome here. Right. And oh shit. There's a hurricane warning. But in all seriousness, we do send our thoughts and prayers out for anyone impacted. You never know. Stay safe. Yeah. Stay safe. And, you know, this hit me like last night. Like it both made me feel old and it nostalgic. Coolia passed away. I know. Thanks to Paradise, probably where he is. We talked pre-episode, you know, and it made me feel of an older. I was like, how old were you guys when that song came out? And I don't think either one of you were out of the womb quite yet.
Starting point is 00:03:40 I was born. It was the year I was born. Yeah. You remember that song? Some say that I brought the gangsters paradise. I'm just kidding. No one says that. Yes.
Starting point is 00:03:50 There it is. Oh, yeah. You know, this was like, I mean, Gangsters Paradise, which is the first is, a little more serious. But Culeo was kind of like that feel-good rapper. Yeah. You know?
Starting point is 00:04:05 Yeah. Like if you didn't like rap, you still liked Culeo. Yeah. I'm not like that song. It's a bomb. It's a fantastic voice. So, RIP, Culeo. Thanks for everything.
Starting point is 00:04:18 I know. Time gets us all, unfortunately. Indeed. Some earlier than needed. But nostalgia of, you know, my I'm with four of all. The 27 club. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:04:32 I was a senior in high school. Wow. Yeah. The year I was born. You guys just keep me young. That's the goal. That's the goal around here. It's been a good week.
Starting point is 00:04:46 Hope everyone checked out Tuesday's episode with Sean. Merriman X NFL All-Pro. Lights Out brand. Sean's a great business guy. He's been through some ups and downs. and talked transparently about all his journey and business journey. Yeah. And, you know, really insightful dude, you know, no matter how you feel about football players and,
Starting point is 00:05:10 and the sport and business and like how all this stuff comes together. Like, he was very insightful about his upbringing and like, you know, have a chip on his shoulder or where he came from. And then, you know, the ups and downs in business of, you know, it doesn't just happen. Right. But he does seem like a natural business. this guy and I know he's getting it figured out in his time in the UFC, well, UFC minor leagues that they're doing with lights out. Right. You know, the behemoth that is UFC. But
Starting point is 00:05:39 cool, go check that out. That came out on Tuesday. And then, you know, it's interesting. Next week, we've got a couple things planned. And it's either going to be a best of edition. Oh. Yeah. And so working on some ideas on that. And we've got a few get. We have four or five guests that are lined up that I'm excited about, but they all just kind of started to fall towards the end of this month and early next month. So we've been doing a couple of re-releases and just kind of reframing a few things for final end-of-the-year push here in the fourth quarter. Yes. So more to come on that.
Starting point is 00:06:17 Check out on my social channels. You'll see teasers for everything coming up. At Ryan Offer on Instagram, best place to find anything and everything that's going on or at the. radd-cast on Instagram to see what's coming. I did want to mention speaking to the radcast, if you're looking or you're listening and you're looking to move to the fabulous area that is Greenville, South Carolina, or already here, I am hiring a brand manager for both my personal brand and the Radcast. So there's going to be a combination of social.
Starting point is 00:06:49 Yeah, we don't need, we have and use resources all over the world as an agency and as a team. this position with just the nature of running a live show and being here with us and helping produce and manage social and everything that's related to my brand and the show, we are looking for someone as a brand and content coordinator. You get to work with us. Hey. You know, we're a damn delight. We are a delight.
Starting point is 00:07:18 But it's a cool, look, it's a cool opportunity. You know, you'll learn a lot. You'll get mentored directly by me. And then, you know, as our wall here, which is about to get redone, we'll show shortly. Nick's been working on some great artwork for our wall over here. Intermingling with celebrities, football, basketball, athletes, famous founders. So really great opportunity to meet and rub shoulders with some really influential people while managing a top 25 worldwide business podcast. So great opportunity.
Starting point is 00:07:53 If you're interested, DM me, that's the best way to get me on Instagram at Ryan Alfred, as I just mentioned. Great opportunity. Speaking of great opportunities, think billions is less than a month away. You need to go to my profile and click on my link tree and you'll find the link to think billions or go to think billions. For more information on that event, movers, shakers, I'm getting a lot of, actually, DMs on like LinkedIn and Instagram from people that are attending that did
Starting point is 00:08:21 know we're coming like some VIP guests. This is going to be a big event. And the radcast is going to be there live. Nick and I are going to be there recording parts of the event with the guests and some of the VIP guests and doing the radcasts on the road. So we'll be there live and in person. And so if you want more information on that or you're ready to go to the next level, go to think billions.
Starting point is 00:08:45 That club or click on the link tree. There will be additional details coming about the final push. We're getting close to people. You've got to start booking your travel. So the clock is ticking. Speaking of ticking, it's always ticking around here is my branded bills gear that I'm going to have on today. I've mixed it up today with my black with the kind of faux leather patch, but it's fashionable. A little more earthy.
Starting point is 00:09:14 Yeah, it goes well with my Air Jordans. What doesn't go well for the Air Jordans, though? Let's be honest. But think Bill, excuse me, branded bills, I'm getting all my sponsors. We have so many sponsors and so many things now. So many exciting things happening. I'm getting all my websites, web, interwebs messed up. But brand of bills, brandybills.com, official merchandise sponsor.
Starting point is 00:09:37 We just pushed our own order. We did. For some hoodies and beies. So that will be on full display. But we're surrounded by a land of hats and merch. And it's because it's the best in the business. That's all we do around here is, look, I'm a hat feet and I wear my closet's full of shoes and hats and watch and yes that's true too
Starting point is 00:09:58 hats watches shoes and 90% of my gear is branded bills it's for a reason it's not I was wearing branded bills before they were responsible and before they were sponsored just kidding they've always been cool they've always been cool but go to brand of bills dot com interradcast 20 yes get 20% off your entire order. They also do custom orders, i.e. what we have here. They have incredible designs by state, by American flag, by
Starting point is 00:10:32 street wear. They do have a really cool design. Some people that do like this kind of custom gear, like the designs, you'll be like eh. But I go there every time because I'll be doing something research for like the show or something. I'm like, hmm, like making my little short list
Starting point is 00:10:48 for Christmas or something. So go check them out. Radcast 20 brandedbills.com. Tell them we sent you and you'll be glad you did because it's a bad ass shit. Speaking of bad ass shit, here's the deal. So we run a full service digital agency here in rural health Carolina. It's called Radical. And we work with medium to large businesses anywhere from $50, $200 million in revenue.
Starting point is 00:11:17 There's certainly some outliers in that. But the reality is you're not. Not everyone can hire an ad agency. And we recognize that, which is why we were proud to partner with 99 Designs. By Vista. Who is sponsoring today's episode. So, Buy Vista, 99 designs, buy Vista. You probably heard the ad at the start of the episode, but want to give them a shout out.
Starting point is 00:11:39 And look, you get like 99 designs for like minimal cost. Let me tell you. Minimal cost with a discount. We get 40 bucks off. You go to 99designs.com slash raddust. You can access all of that info. Yes. And this is how you get stuff done efficiently.
Starting point is 00:11:58 So if you're a startup, you're thinking of starting a brand, you don't need, you need to start slow. Keep the budget light. You need to go to 99 designs. Hey, if you just have an idea and you want to see something conceptual, it's a great way to get it done affordably as well. Yep. 99 designs by Vista. Thanks so much for sponsoring today's episode. We've got some social media holidays.
Starting point is 00:12:20 We do. Happy international podcast day. Yes. Today. Yes, it is. We're going to be doing a giveaway to celebrate. So make sure you're following our social media and participate in that. Yes, yes. We could do it.
Starting point is 00:12:35 International, too. I know. You know, you know, U.S. podcast day. And it fell on our podcast day, too. I know. Sometimes the world aligns. Or maybe they did it on purpose. Maybe they were aligned to go.
Starting point is 00:12:45 They were like, we have to, it's when the rat cast drops. This is when we have to do it. Yes. Since we're international. Yes. And tomorrow, Saturday, is international coffee day. Hey, coffee and podcasting. Which I celebrate every day.
Starting point is 00:12:57 Yes, you do. I'm an addict. So October 1st is here, folks. And you start it with a coffee or a nice energy drink like I will. Caffeine, caffeine, caffeine. And then Sunday, my hubris, is my birthday. Oh, this is a really good social holiday. 27, it is, yes.
Starting point is 00:13:15 You can all follow me and my cat on Instagram, wish us happy birthday. Yes. Not that it's his birthday, but I don't know when his is. Do you want to announce how old you are? I'm 27. 27. Forget this bullshit age nonsense. I'm proud of my age.
Starting point is 00:13:29 I know. You are so old. I am. I mean, I told you pre-ups. I was like, this young thing. Now 27 does this sound like older. So I'm too old for Leo DiCaprio. Nick's still a young thing.
Starting point is 00:13:40 You're like just, you're just kind of. Yeah, pushing 30. Pushing 30. Pushing 30. Happy birthday. It's great. The older you get, the younger you can date. That's my rule.
Starting point is 00:13:49 What's that? The older you get, the younger you can date. There you go. Because you really like all those young guys. I'm going to become Leo DiCaprio. I'm going to start only dating. Go into averse order. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:13:58 Exactly. Yeah. I don't know about that. I don't know how he keeps up with the, I can keep up. But I just, I don't know, the drama of having to date people over and over again. Yeah, 27-year-olds are high maintenance. It's not even this, like, it's just a, just the notion of dating someone different every five months. It's like, you know.
Starting point is 00:14:17 It's like, all right. I would not. I don't want to go back. Yeah, no. Nicole, you're stuck with me. Monday the 4th. Yes, October 4th. October 4th.
Starting point is 00:14:27 Is that the 3rd? I don't know. It's the 4th. It's Monday. Monday the 4th is World Animal Day and National Vodka Day. Wow. Yes. It is.
Starting point is 00:14:37 Two of my favorite things. Yes. Is Monday the 4th though or is the 3rd? Monday's the 3rd, but I think that World Animal Day is the 4th and I made an error. So I believe it's Tuesday is a World Animal Day. It's all good. Tuesday is. World Animal Day.
Starting point is 00:14:51 October 4th. Is National Vodka Day also Tuesday? Yes. Yes. We got to make sure because I don't want anyone like pre-partying with vodka on Monday. I mean, I would pre-game National Vodka Day. You can start that early. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:15:03 Start with like a smearing off. Tuesday the 4th. You know, when you're chasing animals and drinking your vodka. I drove past a like a Catholic church yesterday and they have an animal blessing ceremony because it's for, I don't know, St. Francis or something. like the patron saint of animals. World Animal Day is the Catholic holiday. Read my lips.
Starting point is 00:15:26 No. People bring their dogs into church to be blessed, which is so great. Maybe Marshall would get his hearing back if I did that. That's what I should do. Let's see if I can heal. Animals in church just doesn't sound right. I don't know. That's just me.
Starting point is 00:15:39 They were all on the ark. Yeah. Which feels like it's the same. That's because the world, God had flooded the world. And he's like, you can take him on the ark because we, We've got to save these beasts, you know. Beasts. But, you know, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:15:55 I feel like it's a little bit of distraction if you're trying to kind of like, you know. Sure. Sure. I would be more inclined to go to Church of Theory animals there. That's how I would get back. Yeah. Sorry, Mom and Dad. For your birthday, you can always, you know. Sure, there it is.
Starting point is 00:16:08 There is. It's a good time to start back, huh? It's true. There you go. That's what I'll do. Thank God for one more year. There it is around the sun. There's your social holidays.
Starting point is 00:16:17 Indeed. And we have one little social. media update for everybody, our little TikTok update, they have released a dislike button. They can do the first social media platform to do this. I'm here for this one. Yeah. I think this is long overdue. They launched it in April.
Starting point is 00:16:34 My problem might be that I'm going to be negative Nancy because I'm going to dislike a lot of shit. And it's just so everyone knows if a comment's irrelevant or inappropriate. Yeah, it's almost like reporting a comment. I wish it was more on disliking the content, not just the comments. Right, right. It's the first I read this and I'm like, oh, this is awesome. I'm going to dislike lots of videos. I like a lot of videos too.
Starting point is 00:16:55 I guess YouTube you can downvote on YouTube. Yeah. That needs to be there on TikTok especially. Yeah. My feed's been getting junked up lately. I'm like, this is garbage. You're like, fix the algorithm. Fix it now.
Starting point is 00:17:07 You know, some of the comments, it's so spam. Like my channel's all, half of it's like spam bullshit. Like, I don't know why they can't get rid of some of these bots that are obviously just like they come on there and it's like this the same thing you know i was really going through some tough times and but luckily madeline wizard you know read my tarot cards and like it's a definite in her profile like first you're like oh what is this and like now that i've seen it a hundred times you're like oh god like the comments on my feet that madison wizard yeah or whatever you know you know i was going through a rough time but luckily i found crypto michael right right he's
Starting point is 00:17:48 Saved everything. He saved everything. I went from $5 to $5,000 in one week. Right. And I was like... You can too. I did clip... I clicked on crypto mic.
Starting point is 00:17:58 Not really. Don't... Do not click on anyone. Clicked but didn't follow. No, I didn't. It's okay. You know, put it on my story. No, I'm kidding.
Starting point is 00:18:05 God, I suppose so much on TikTok. It's a lot of spam and I'll be disliking a lot of comments for sure on TikTok as well. First, it was just Instagram. TikTok's now. Like, I posted a video the other day and, like, it was like eight comments and like, four seconds. I was like, wow. What is this? And I was like, you know, it was all
Starting point is 00:18:24 spam. Obviously bots. Annoying. All right. Never mind. But that's all we got for social media. However, bumping into our advertising and entertainment news, James Earl Jones is hanging up his cape as Darth Vader. Did you see this? I did see this. This is wild. I love this so much. Instead of James Earl Jones voicing
Starting point is 00:18:44 the iconic character, it's now going to live on artificially through an AI program that was featured based in the Ukraine. And he's like sold the rights to his voice. He's 91. Did you know that? Yeah, I did. And I had no idea he was that old. I didn't know that he hadn't passed to be honest.
Starting point is 00:19:01 Yeah. Sure. I think I probably would have heard it, but it just, I knew he had to be getting up there. And this is, this is both scary and crazy at the same time, but it's not surprising because we use, I use occasionally. We use, you know, Nick Weaver. Yeah. but for real editing.
Starting point is 00:19:19 But like my faux editing, like when I need to do something, there's a piece of software that will, like, if there's one word that I didn't say, it will, it can mimic my voice. And if you did, it's not, I think,
Starting point is 00:19:31 as far along as, you know, whatever they're using at a high, high level. It's probably new AI, but like one word you can put, it will kind of do. And I think if I read a full sentence,
Starting point is 00:19:41 it probably sound robotic or something. Sure. But it'll plug in your voice. So there's stuff like this out there that's come. And the same thing with like, because imagine like that combined with CGI or a deep fake that's On Star Wars is the one to pioneer it. Maybe a CGI of James Earl. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:20:01 Yeah. Of him talk with him talking with the AI. And they did a lot of like the deep fake stuff in the more recent Star Wars with, you know, Carrie Fisher and all that stuff. So it makes a lot of sense. It's going to get to a point with video where if you're not watching it live, if you're not there. You're not going to know. You're going to know.
Starting point is 00:20:15 You're going to either not know or question. Yeah. You know, like, is this true? 100%. And I did see, like, some political guy, like, some guy, like, inspiring out violence or something. And he was blaming it on a deep fake, you know, when I think it was clear that, I don't even remember who it was. I don't want to get in politics. It was more just that you're going to see people using it on both sides.
Starting point is 00:20:36 Right. People are going to get deep faked and be legitimate. And then people are going to say, oh, I was deep faked. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, that's so icky. I don't like that at all. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:45 Fascinating. But yeah, Jamesville Jones, 91 years old, an egot winning actor. It's going to be interesting, the impact from marketing and advertising and like spokesperson standpoint with like money. Yeah. The how people get compensated and, you know, name image likeness, like when you've got this type of thing. I imagine he'll still get royalties or his family well when he passes like for using his voice, even though. it's AI of his voice. Yeah. You know, so it gets in some industry, interesting realms.
Starting point is 00:21:22 Yeah. Like the, with marketing and spokesperson. Yeah, and the legality you don't think of, like, all of how technical that could get. Yeah. It's just fascinating. Yeah. Next up we have.
Starting point is 00:21:32 You're going to have to patent your own voice. You're going to have to get like, and I'm surprised this doesn't happen anyway. That's a good point. Especially when it lives beyond yourself. Yeah. Like you have to, in area, he has such a unique voice. You either trademark or patent. or whatever. Maybe trademarks, a better word.
Starting point is 00:21:47 Sure. But doing some research yesterday. Speaking of research, this is a good thing to note. Speaking of patent and trademarks, the radcast is, if you can't see me holding, we have one more hurdle. We're about to get the trademark for. That's so exciting. So all you jokers out there that have like the radcast in your name and you started after us. Cease and desist.
Starting point is 00:22:08 My lawyer's getting right up in your shit real soon. We'll send you a hat. We'll send you a hat. Yeah. Season to sys. Our lawyer contacted yesterday. We got to have like one more little thing. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:19 Yeah. There you go. Anyway, down that same path, I think you're going to see people start to trademark or there'll be some kind of new, I don't know, copyrighting law around it. So we'll see. I should trademark my voice. I do a lot of voice work. Apple Music is sponsoring the Super Bowl, which is totally different because it used to be Pepsi. But Super Bowl, it's what, the 57th Super Bowl this year?
Starting point is 00:22:48 That sounds right. Which is scheduled for February 12th will be the first time the music streaming service acts as a presenting sponsor for the midgame extravaganza. Pepsi held the rights for the past decade, but stepped away from the halftime show in May while remaining an NFL partner. I saw that. I saw that. And Rihanna is going to be performing. Yes, Rihanna's doing the halftime show. Yeah. I mean, I like some Rihanna.
Starting point is 00:23:11 I love Rihanna. My first dance recital was true. You know, like, she, I like her. I know who she is. Yeah. But I wasn't aware of maybe the scale that she was, I know she's worldwide. I know she has like a freaking makeup brand. It's like worth a billion dollars or something. So like, I know these things for a business point.
Starting point is 00:23:28 But I guess I didn't realize. I was like, is she Super Bowl nameworthy? But I guess so. Oh, yeah. I mean. I'm very excited. Yeah. So, but Apple music, interesting.
Starting point is 00:23:38 Makes a lot of sense. Surprise it didn't happen before. Uh-huh. Me too. And look, I use Apple music personally. Same. I'm not a Spotify person. And I have it.
Starting point is 00:23:48 I've used it before. But here's the problem. Total tangent. I'm ready for this. If you have an iPhone, Spotify does not sound as good as Apple music. And I think it's because Apple's probably doing some shenanigans. And you can like, love it or hate it.
Starting point is 00:24:06 But the reality is, and I've done side by side, it sounds a million times better. when you listen to Apple Music. And so thus, if you're on their ecosystem, I just choose Apple Music. Same. And I don't have a problem with their platform. When my friends post the Spotify wrapped, I'm like, I don't care. I don't care. All the stuff that I listen to is on both platforms.
Starting point is 00:24:28 Right. And they're relatively the same cost. We have like the family plan. Sure. So like my kids and my wife and are like $14 or something. So it's not any cheaper on Spotify. I will say there are some weird. like niche musicals that are only on, I'm such a nerd, that are only on Spotify.
Starting point is 00:24:45 So I have like Spotify with the ads, but I avoid it at all costs. SoundCloud has some weird stuff that I listen to, which I don't mind. I listen to the ads to like some two friends mixes. Oh yeah. Nick, you don't talk about with two friends. Don't know that one. You guys are so behind. Challenge accepted.
Starting point is 00:25:05 This is like totally in your genre too. I'm the old guy listening to two friends. Anyone out there that's like 22 is like nod in their head, listen to this going. Well, then 27. So like that's too young for me. They do, they do mashups like a one-hour mix set. Two friends is what they're called? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:22 And they'll do it one-hour mashup that's a lot that they add kind of edm slash dance music. And they mash up like over that hour. Yeah. Probably a hundred songs. They play like like 15 seconds of the song, but it's mashed up. And it's mixed. Oh, I would like them. So anyway.
Starting point is 00:25:43 Cool. It's good for workout. Good for workout. I always need workout music. I work out to podcasts. Good for leg side. Good energy. I mean, it's not, I don't, yeah, I guess you could lose to it anywhere, but it's definitely a good.
Starting point is 00:25:53 A vibe. A vibe. A vibe, is the kids say. You know, you know, don't know what. You're kind of like wondering what the next song you're going to hear. That's kind of the fun of it. I think it's kind of like, what do they get a mix? And they blend it in, you know, so.
Starting point is 00:26:07 It's kind of like radio, but better. That's right. There it is. Total tangent, but Apple Music and Super Bowl makes a lot of sense. This next one, this was all over my, like my LinkedIn and my Twitter feed, but the MLB games that were infiltrated by actors with the creepy smiles to promote the new film smile that comes out today. It's in theaters 30th today. Multiple media outlets have written about the creepy stunt, which only went viral due to the actor's commitment to the role.
Starting point is 00:26:36 Like the whole game, they were just creepy smiling. And it was in the Mets versus the athletics and the Cardinals versus the Dodgers and a couple other games. Did you see this? This is how you do brain extension. This is smart. And I don't, you know, the actor's holding character that long is very interesting. But I have no, look, I haven't watched the previews for the movie. I watched the trailer because of this ad.
Starting point is 00:26:59 Is it? But there is like, there's an insight here. And I have no idea if this is what the movie's about. I know nothing about the movie other than I saw. Oh, yeah. Those would be interesting. But you know we always say fake smile? Like you feel like everybody's kind of like, you know, and it's like there's something telling about like society as a whole that you feel like there's a lot of fake smiling.
Starting point is 00:27:19 Yeah, yeah, yeah. I have no idea if this is what the movie's about. But, you know. It's creepy. Like I watched the trailer. I will like dabble with horror movies, but I'm very specific about the ones I'll watch because they will mess with me. I don't know if I could do this one. Nightmare and Old Street only for you.
Starting point is 00:27:35 No. I have watched it. that's like the first and second it and a couple of the Annabal movies I used to have some Jason on here I think we deleted it but I like all the any kind of like aggressive gore and violence I can't that's why I can't do game of France like I can do creepy spooky spooky ghosts but I can't do violence yeah no that's how I sound watching these movies that sounds like me actually that's me oh man no it's a great great stunt
Starting point is 00:28:03 I have to be in the mood for horror sure You know, but let me say this. Marketing and like connection and brand and like carrying out, this is a brilliant idea. Great extension. It's baseball season or at least the time where most people start paying attention. A lot of energy around it. And then doing a mass play where, you know, you get this kind of virility, really cool idea. And smart.
Starting point is 00:28:30 The, I will say this. Like I have to be in a mood for horror because I started watching on Netflix. the Dahmer thing with what's his name? Yes. And Nicole and I started watching this the other night. And literally, it was like you know stuff's coming, but you don't really want, like, we watch like 15 minutes of it. And we both looked at here. I'm like, we're going to watch this and we're really going to like it.
Starting point is 00:28:55 But I'm not in the mood for this. Yeah. Like I needed some freaking Ted Lassa. Yeah, there it is. We nearly went to Ted Lassa. Yeah, no, I can't do it. This is more than I want to like, you. you know, digest right now?
Starting point is 00:29:08 Like, I need some light-heartedness. Dahmer, and this is not horror, but Dahmer and the new Maryland-M-Roe movie Blonde are two that I was like, do I want to watch this? And then I, like, went down a deep dive of reviews. And I was like, neither. I won't watch either of them. I cannot do it. I'll totally get into it.
Starting point is 00:29:24 If I'm in the mood for it, like, I'm there. I just was like ready to kind of, that's not horror. That's like true. I was ready to kind of like chill out, like, at the end of the day. And like, yeah. He's going to win all the awards. for it though. He was free,
Starting point is 00:29:38 like, we watched like, I'm like, he was very believable. This is, but I thought he was great and freaking American horror story.
Starting point is 00:29:46 Another one on. He played a lot of different characters. Yeah. He was always like the guy he's best on scene. So, uh, interesting.
Starting point is 00:29:54 Yeah. On to another positive article. M&Ms is introducing a new color for the first time since the 90s. Um, but they have a purple. A purple. Eminem to mark the debut, the brand will release a song and video called I'm Just Gonna Be Me that features saxophonist Grace Kelly, choreographer, dancers, Devin Santiago, and Colo Cog,
Starting point is 00:30:17 opera singer Anthony Roth Constanzo, and the rest of the cast of the Eminem's spokes candies. Do Eminemes, based on the color, taste different? I don't, you know, like, Skittles absolutely do. I don't think Eminem's do. I think it's just dye. It's like if you did a blind taste test, inclusivity. Am I going to know that it's purple? You know?
Starting point is 00:30:37 We should do it. Yeah. We should try it. I look like, well, I'm excited about this. This tastes new to me. It's a peanut Eminem, I think. Oh, come on now. Let me messing up Eminems with peanuts.
Starting point is 00:30:47 Eminems are my favorite. Like any of them, any and all of them. Peanut butter Eminems. I'm there for them all day. Elite. Those in Recy PCs are like my hidden, like. Do you like caramel emmins? Those are my second favorite.
Starting point is 00:31:00 I don't dislike them. Yeah. But I'll pass right over. Sure. Like, I'm a Passover dessert. like sweet kind of guy, except for about five things. Yeah. And peanut butter M&Ms and Risi pieces.
Starting point is 00:31:12 Risa's pieces. Yep. Oh, just like all day, every day, whole bag. bury me in them. Same way. Absolutely. If I, if I, if I, like, could eat as much of that as I want and, like, never gain any weight or look or feel bad.
Starting point is 00:31:27 Snaps. Yeah, it's about feeling bad, truly. I have gorged myself on M&Ms before. Yes. But anyway, so, okay. Purple. For inclusivity. It's fine.
Starting point is 00:31:38 Whatever. I don't like when candy or stuff has to get into like, it's not that I don't, I don't know. It's the social things with candy. Sure. Can we just have candy? Sure. It's just no matter where you fall, any of it. And I don't think anyone with any, like, integrity doesn't want people to not feel included.
Starting point is 00:32:01 Sure. So it's not that I am saying what with me. Me saying this is saying, well, I don't agree with this. It's more just, you know, just, let me eat candy. You know, let me just have some candy. But Eminem has always had, like it has such a historical background because like Eminems were invented because families would send like chocolate and candy to their family members who were in the military and it would always melt.
Starting point is 00:32:26 And so Eminem's because they have the candy coating don't melt. So it's kind of always been like a little bit. Yeah. It's just they don't have to have, they don't have to be a gender. They can just be characters. So then why did we make the green one a sex symbol? Why is the green one in them the sexy one? I'm sure that it's not anymore.
Starting point is 00:32:42 No, it still is. She still has her little heel dudes. Oh, good, good. Feminism. But the next thing is Megan the Stallion. Do you like her music? Yeah. Yeah, I do too.
Starting point is 00:32:52 She created a website with mental health resources for fans. She launched a website called Bad Bitches Have Bad Days 2, which appeared to be taken from a verse from her song, Anxiety, to provide her fans with mental health resources. Yeah, that's cool. Yeah. I mean, you know, like her and Cardi B and like, I like, I like the music. I love it.
Starting point is 00:33:10 I enjoy it. You know, I can enjoy it and not even know where their position is or like what they do. But it's also good that they're using their fame to, you know, promote things like this. Same with Lizzo. Liz is another one who does it. And I think we start to, you know, go overboard with taking every lyric and every, I mean, like some of us is just art form, you know. Yeah. At least for me, it's art form because it gets me jived up at the gym or I'm having fun
Starting point is 00:33:33 to party or whatever, you know, and I'm not like overthinking every lyric. Sure. But I just think it's cool that, you know, she used her fame to like promote something that obviously needs more awareness. It's a cool website. I popped on there yesterday. Yep. But it's the power of influence.
Starting point is 00:33:47 Not personal use. Yeah. Totally. But it's keeping that like mental health vein. Clorox wipes has a whole new brand platform. It's the first time since 2017. It's called Start Clean and it utilizes a minimal aesthetic and straightforward message because recent consumer research by the brand found that 82% of Americans believe cleanliness is required for a clear head and 68% of Americans believe it's needed for a fresh outlook.
Starting point is 00:34:13 I mean, I like things smelling nice. Yeah. I mean, you know, like there is something about coming home to a clean house, you know, like that's fresh. Yeah. You know, like, it helps you with like productivity. Because like one less thing I have to do. Or my wife has to do. Like between the two of us.
Starting point is 00:34:33 Right, right. Like, you know, like, okay. Well, it's like you can focus on the stuff you actually want to do and not like, oh, God, I got to clean the bathroom. Yeah. I mean, and who doesn't like, you know, some bleached smell? Yeah. Lemon, lemon citrus.
Starting point is 00:34:45 Yeah. You know. Yeah. But I don't know. I'd like to dig into that research a little bit. Sure. If they're, they're making some connections here that it might be a little bit of a leap for, whether
Starting point is 00:34:58 not chlorox wipes. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. But. I've had to clean the depression crust off of my apartment before.
Starting point is 00:35:06 I've been like, oh, I've been like sad for two days. I probably should like do something about my dishes now. You should at least feed the cat. Right. He always gets fed. The cat's always fine. Food and water. He's always taken care of.
Starting point is 00:35:16 Yeah. I'm the one that doesn't eat. But it's fine. We're on Prozac now. Yeah. Yeah. That's all I got for today. I'm going to get some wipes here in the Radcast room.
Starting point is 00:35:29 There you go. We got some little dust bunnies. Yeah. This screens. Yeah, I get some fingerprints. Well, I think it's more like where Nash dropped it seven times. Kicked it down the street a few times. They thought it was a soccer ball.
Starting point is 00:35:42 Oh, yes. Roblox. So Clemson and NC State play on Saturday night. Game days in town. And I will be glued to the TV. It'll be an exciting weekend. No hurricane. Yeah, lots of wind.
Starting point is 00:35:54 Hopefully we all have power. Yeah. I don't say that. I have a generator. Oh, there you go. There you go. We have backups. You'll be just fine.
Starting point is 00:36:01 Yeah. Runs just the refrigerator and the TV. Priorities. Priorities. And maybe the microwave. Sure. Obviously. We need to have some many more. Pizza rolls. Or like, you know.
Starting point is 00:36:14 Oh, yeah. Yeah. Game day food. What are they called? What is they called those things that you put in a toaster, but they're. Pop-Tarts? No. Kind of in the vein of pizza rolls.
Starting point is 00:36:25 The, uh. Like the tuck. Hot pocket. Oh, yeah, yeah. Hot pockets. There we go. I love hot pockets. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:31 That Philly steak and cheese. Very good. Unless the center is cold. That's what always happens to me. Like, everything's cooked, but the center is still, like, cold. It's so unpleasant. What if you could air fry a hot pocket? I think you could.
Starting point is 00:36:46 Challenge accepted. Try that. Any final words here? Stay safe from the hurricane. Yes. Check out 99designs slash radcast. Do it. You know where to find us to radcast.
