Starting point is 00:00:00 It has to start somewhere. It has to start sometime. What better placed in here? What better time than now? You're listening to the latest radcast news update. Here's Ryan and Riley. Hey guys, what's up? Welcome to the latest edition of the Radcast.
Starting point is 00:00:23 It's our weekly news segment here on a Friday, New Year's Day. Woo-hoo! January 1st, that's like my best woo-hoo ever. That was so good. I'm so glad we're recording this. I'm going to have to use that on my own. Yeah, January 1st. Hey, happy New Year's.
Starting point is 00:00:41 It's not quite New Year's for us recording it. Correct. Just so you know, but you're listening to us. It is New Year's Day. Yes. And so we want to wish you a happy New Year's. Yes, we want to wish you very happy New Year's. And it just happens to be episode 100.
Starting point is 00:00:55 Woo-hoo! Mine was not as good as yours. I know. Cheers. We're having champagne. If you're listening, just imagining us like, sipping on some 1972 fine champagne. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:01:10 It might not be 72. Just the absolute best champagne you could possibly hope for is what's happening here. That's obviously. No, but. There's a little apricot there, a little citrusy. Happy New Year's to everyone. Hope it's a great one for everyone. And yeah, it's also our 100th episode, obviously, and that's super exciting.
Starting point is 00:01:33 So yeah, that's... I know, 100 episodes. I'm sorry. It's believable because I've, you know, when I was reflecting on this, I was like, it felt like I was saying, I remember the, you know, guests and it's been two plus years. Obviously, we've picked up the frequency here in the last six months since Riley's come on and, you know, put a real, like, schedule together. You know, we're pretty loose there the first year or so, so it's picked up. But it's felt like, you know, we were getting towards 100. I've started to, like, go, like, I think about the guess.
Starting point is 00:02:10 And then I run out of, like, I got to look back up, oh, yeah, that's right. Like, who was on and how many, when it was. Exactly. It's crazy. When you go back through episodes and just kind of pay attention to who's on what and what episode it was, and you're like, that was 30 episodes ago? It's, like, crazy to just really think about. But speaking of that, like, who's been your favorite guest?
Starting point is 00:02:28 Or not favorite guests. That's a bad thing to say. Easy. Yeah, that was a bad thing to say. I don't mean not like that. But like I feel like we had amazing guests this year. And obviously absolutely incredible guests all the way around. But, you know, was there any like one just like right atop of the head that like completely stood out for you?
Starting point is 00:02:43 Well, you know, a couple things stood out. Like I was really proud of the quality of the e-sports series as a whole. Yeah. And that stands out as a highlight. I'll name a few of those shortly. But, you know, again, I guess call it selfishly or whatever. but someone that was just on my radar because I've been following what he's done, Sean Whalen and having him on from Lions, Not Sheep.
Starting point is 00:03:09 And Sean's kind of a polarizing figure out there right now because he's got some very strong beliefs. And, you know, like him, love them, or hate him, you have to respect, you know, kind of his transparency and the way he goes about it. And the success of his business here in the middle of COVID, he's, like, crushing. He's done like over a million dollars in revenue, e-commerce revenue in his first year. and you know that stands out from a personal side of just someone that you know that I'm following and watching what he's doing and kind of you know I don't it's not even that I agree with every position
Starting point is 00:03:43 he has but you know respect his transparency and his way of kind of sharing information and so a great communicator and so that stands out but then the e-commerce series was just I think you know solid you know like from mad arts at the NBA and the NBA 2K game all the way through, you know, it just felt like, you know, our most cohesive. I mean, it was the first time kind of doing a series for us, and it just felt like each episode kind of added on to each other. And like the whole thing, you know, stood out as really reflecting the growth
Starting point is 00:04:27 that e-sports has seen not only this year, but, you know, how it's just, booming the last 10 years. Absolutely. No, I mean, same with me. I feel like there's obviously every guest, you know, I, you know, interacted with on some level and it was just the, I loved who we had on. I mean, for me, I'm thinking of, you know, in the e-commerce series specifically, I'm thinking of like Alex Reed and Jordan Schindler and like Kerala Wright, like they were incredible guests and just the passion and just the like the goal-oriented people. I mean, it was just like, I loved that and I felt very inspirational. And so those episodes haven't been listened to. You should definitely go back and listen to them because they're incredible. Really every episode is incredible. And
Starting point is 00:05:07 obviously we're biased. This is like our podcast. But like, you know, it's just like one of this thing. I mean, they were incredible. And, you know, back to the ESPort series to, you know, definitely just think of like, you know, Charles Conroy and especially Magnus. Like they were all like, and just the insight was awesome. And I, and you know, what's interesting is, you know, we're We're two minutes into talking about the best of the year, some of our favorites. Best of it was just so wrong. It is. It is.
Starting point is 00:05:35 Yeah. I think it's just the nature of this time of year. They're like, best of and all that. Yeah. But reflecting on things. And we haven't even mentioned, like, one of the preeminent voices in B2B marketing, Dave Gerhardt. Exactly. I mean, you know, we've called for three minutes and even get it, Dave.
Starting point is 00:05:51 That's just goes to show the quality of the guests that we've had and kind of all of that. and Dave was great. And even the most recent, like one of our most recent, Jan Parrish, you know, that was like, you know, sometimes you, I'm proud of all the guests we've had. I can't think of an episode where I was like, man, this didn't enjoy it or like it wasn't good. I mean, I'm biased, obviously being the host. But, you know, sometimes you jive and you get into a flow more. And, you know, Jan and I, I think, you know, could relate to each other, both in marketing a long time.
Starting point is 00:06:27 I could really relate to her. I hope she related to me. Right. But just her story, her background, and kind of the way she's building a business the right way with Glow is really cool. No, it is. It is. Super cool.
Starting point is 00:06:41 And yeah, and then the other thing that I guess happened this year on the Radcast side is we're on Pandora, and I know we announced that last week, but I feel like it's important to, you know, emphasize again. So if you are listening on Pandora, that's super awesome. And welcome Pandora listeners. That's super exciting. exciting for you to be here.
Starting point is 00:06:58 Yeah, no, they're pretty selective with, you know, it's not like one of those things where you can just put the podcast out and you're immediately on, you know, like most of the channels, you know, if you put one together and you release it, you can start pushing out to a lot of the platforms with Pandora is pretty selective and goes through a process and approval and all that. So, you know, at least we're going to tell ourselves that. They do, you have to kind of apply and they vet you a little bit. So, no, it's cool. It's exciting.
Starting point is 00:07:25 I know they've got a loyal listener following. And so if you're listening on Pandora, welcome for sure. Exactly. Yeah, no, it's super cool. You're big New Year's plans? Kind of. I know that if you're listening, you're hearing us talk about New Year's plans and it's New Year's Day for you.
Starting point is 00:07:42 Tchay, yeah. But nonetheless, you can hear what we did last night. Correct, yeah. So what's supposed to happen. This is weird. So, like, I'm saying like what's supposed to happen, not knowing if it's actually going to happen. Yes, this is like that weird. kind of mystic ball kind of moment, you know.
Starting point is 00:07:57 But no, what's supposed to happen, actually one of my really good friends that I went to West Virginia University with, she's coming down with her boyfriend and we're all going to kind of go out and just kind of, but like cautiously because like I'm not, I'm not trying to like be super like crazy. It's COVID and I'm just trying to be respectful, you know, so I think we're just going to do something at my apartment. Obviously all the party games. But see, the thing is, is like, if you do it at an apartment, then you can really just
Starting point is 00:08:24 kind of do your own kind of party like however you want it to go and it's like we can just basically have the bar at my apartment do you know what I mean and like card games go more and getting to drink when you want it and I have to wait at the bar yeah exactly and just like games and you know I'm a big card game person so you know I have all my card games ready and I'm just I'm very excited so that's kind of what's supposed to happen so I guess we'll see what actually does happen but yeah oh yeah I'll never forget the Christmas party Riley's pulling out the like I had cards of my first got to the point We're like, all right, let's play a game. I have cards.
Starting point is 00:08:55 I always carry them. Yeah, I do. It might be a card shark if. I know, I know, I know. Get a game of rummy or would you like to play blackjack? Exactly. You never know. What kind of moon I'm in.
Starting point is 00:09:08 We either playing horse racing or whatever that game was called. Exactly. Did they have a name? Yeah, I think it's called horse race. Horse race. I think it's called Horse Race. I know it was a good game. That's pretty fun.
Starting point is 00:09:15 We played that last Christmas party until all wee hours in the morning. And this was a little more calm this year. But it's a fun game. Yeah. What about you? What are your supposed plans? You know, we're low-key. We have all the boys. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:09:29 And we're actually going to go for part of the night to my father-in-law's. His birthday is technically this week, you know, yesterday. Aw. Happy birthday. And so, yeah, happy birthday to Steve. So we're going to celebrate him some part of the night. And I don't know if we end up staying there or heading back to Chateau Off. For that party. For that party. Admittedly, and, you know, it's, New Year's is kind of hit or miss.
Starting point is 00:10:02 Look, if there's a party and like, pre-COVID, post-COVID, all that, you know, we're in, somebody invites us somewhere and we don't have plans or we've got a sitter or something. I'm all for, I'm not, you know, humbug, you know, about partying. Right. But New Year's is a little bit amateur hourish for me with just like. Well, it's just everybody that just doesn't go out much is out. Well, I get that. It's like, you know, who do I want to, you know, spend my time around?
Starting point is 00:10:31 I like private parties. I get that. You know, 10, 12, your best friends hanging out somewhere. Great. Exactly. You know. Or even like a nice, if you have a reservation somewhere, a nice dinner in a private room and then maybe going, you know,
Starting point is 00:10:44 somewhere for, you know, the celebration. So, but this year, ironically, last year, I think Nicole and I, We're going to look like old fogies here, but I think we were in bed by like 11. We woke up and, you know, did the New Year's kiss the next morning. That's so funny. You're like, happy New Year's, honey. But I forget what we had had going on, but like we were worn out. And we're like, I don't think I'm going to make it.
Starting point is 00:11:09 Because we didn't have friends doing anything last year. And we weren't, hadn't made plans. And we had the kids. And so it was just like, I don't know. That's hilarious. Yeah. And this year. So some family stuff.
Starting point is 00:11:20 It seems appropriate for the year for. Right. for us. If I was 20-something like you, I know, I know, I wouldn't be saying that, but being 40-something, it feels appropriate this year. And we do have some plans like New Year's Day
Starting point is 00:11:37 and Clemson's playing New Year's Day with the college football playoffs. You have the good teams playing that. Man, you're calling on me today. And so I know, I mean, I think West Virginia was playing. I think their game was. canceled, I think, or something.
Starting point is 00:11:55 Because of COVID. Because of COVID. Just because of COVID. Exactly. That's what happens to the holiday care bowl when you, or whatever bowl it was. Car Care Bowl, you know, citrus bowl, cheese it bowl, whatever it was. It's okay. It's funny, though, there is some irony, like, and I'm giving Riley a hard time.
Starting point is 00:12:15 She's a Westernian fan. West Virginia is better than most teams. I know. So there's nothing to be ashamed of there. But what's funny. is all these it's like you don't want to think there's like a conspiracy
Starting point is 00:12:26 or like it's about the money when we know it is. Interesting enough there's like half the ball games have been canceled you know because of COVID and all this stuff but sometimes
Starting point is 00:12:35 these playoff games won't be canceled what do you think? Somehow those games will go down. The big money maker games will go down somehow and so it's like
Starting point is 00:12:46 how come you know you know I don't you're right I don't not want the Clemsonsons game I need I need this. I need sports. You're like, that's okay.
Starting point is 00:12:54 Just bundle the money. As long as it happens. I want everyone to be safe. But I need this game, so I'm not complaining about it. But it's just ironic that the irony that it just so happens. These other bowls get canceled because of this. And then the biggest games that make them generate the most money, somehow everyone stays safe. It's magic.
Starting point is 00:13:13 It's magic. It really is magic. It's something in the water, I'm sure. I'm sure it's some magic. And they're probably taking maybe more precautions because they're, you know, the younger kids that are going to the potato chip bowl might not be as focused as the playoff theme. So I could accept that argument.
Starting point is 00:13:30 Yeah. Yeah. Who knows? It's funny nonetheless. But yeah, so happy New Year's to everyone, officially. Happy news, everyone. Episode 100. And we appreciate everyone listening.
Starting point is 00:13:42 And, you know, I guess we'll get to, here's Riley with the news. Cool. Here is the Radcast News. Okay, so news for today is really just going over what, ironically, now we are saying what the best of 2020 is. The best of 2020. But I think this is just our takeaway, at least from like the bad cast perspective and just, you know, what was notable for other, you know, news outlet sources of what was just the best of 2020 advertising-wise. I mean, for me right off the top of my head, I'm going comedy because 2020, as we've said, was such a shit show. Let's just go to the comedians.
Starting point is 00:14:16 I mean, obviously the Sin News campaign is first. on my lit. Like that just cracks me up, even though it was canceled shortly afterwards. That's just hysterical to me. So funny. And then, you know, we have another one. The Calm and CNN partnership that happened right during the election, which I think is absolutely hilarious, which, you know, we all know why that was kind of happening. But that's so funny to me with Calm because those commercials, I don't know, like, they spend a ton on, like, the little bit of linear TV that I catch here and there. I feel like I see a calm 30 seconds vibe and it's like rain for a frame coming in.
Starting point is 00:14:56 And like, you know, I'm like, they must be making some money on this app. You know, like, I don't know. It's been a stressful year. It has been. A lot of people buying that app. And obviously with election and all the tension that's come with, you know, both sides, no matter where you fall, you have to admit it's been tense, say the least. So, great brand play.
Starting point is 00:15:18 cool, cool ad, very, very time, uh, appropriate. And, uh,
Starting point is 00:15:24 so yeah, it's cool. I like it. And have you ever used the app? I used the, I don't have a free version. Yeah, I use the free version to be honest.
Starting point is 00:15:33 I use the free version. Um, but it was one of the things where it's just, I like the, like it was like actually really cool. It was very intentional, um, time to just meditate.
Starting point is 00:15:42 Are you a meditator? No. I think we should talk about that. Okay. Um, I do not have New Year's resolution. I'm not a New Year's resolution kind of guy. I'm self-motivated.
Starting point is 00:15:54 I kind of, I'm the anti-New-year's guy because I just think it's arbitrary. And if you're following my social media, you're going to see some posts the next few days. You're doing pretty hard hitting about this. But I do think that one of my goals for next year, or just goals in general, whether it's next year, tomorrow, or the next day, is I do feel like I need to meditate. I think, like, I think I need, like, just with everything going on, I think I reasonably am a calm person. But sometimes I feel like I get more intense about certain things, and I think I need to, like, meditate. I'm feeling the need. So I might check out the calm.
Starting point is 00:16:36 I might check out the calm. I don't know, or whatever it is. And I don't even know if I'm capable the way my brain works. Like, I have no problem sleeping. I'm a good sleeper. Like, I fall asleep in, like, two sleep. seconds. Right.
Starting point is 00:16:47 So, like, it's not that. But I think, like, whether it's the middle of the morning or whenever you, I would meditate. Right. I'm not sure my brain is going to, I'm going to have to really work at this. I don't know how that's going to go down. Well, I mean, I'm, my natural inclination would be to fall asleep. That's so. Because I'm an easy sleeper, and I feel like, and I get like literally, if you gave,
Starting point is 00:17:09 if we shut off all the lights here in our studio, you gave me, like, you know, just you're in this chair, all lights off. With the champagne. A couple of sips of that champagne. I could be to sleep in three minutes from right now. No way. Give me three minutes, lights off, no distractions. Like, no, Ed, like, and let me sit here.
Starting point is 00:17:29 I would be in quasi-rims, not REM sleep, but some sort of, I can, the offers can go to sleep very quickly. My dad didn't do this. My sister's the same way. That's crazy. We can sleep quickly. So this takes me to a couple things that are going through my head. So first of all, if you've seen the movie Eat, Pray, Love, which is that's like one of my favorite movies.
Starting point is 00:17:47 I don't know if you have. It's a Julia Roberts movie. Totally would recommend it. It's probably one that is going to be like a Nicole. Like Nicole would probably really like. I don't know if you're really going to like it. It's definitely one of those chick-flict kind of deals. But anyway, in the...
Starting point is 00:17:59 Half. It's a no for me, dog. Well, in the movie, like, she goes to... She goes to Bali because she's trying to work on, like, the prayer aspect of her life or whatever. And everyone's trying to get her to meditate, whatever. Or no, she's... I don't know. don't actually might not be the bally part of the movie but regardless she's trying to meditate
Starting point is 00:18:19 and it cracks me up because I just feel like this this will go into a personal story in a second but it's like she's like she's like you know trying to meditate she's like trying to she has her hands out you know how you're supposed to have your hand out she's like trying to do this and she's like itching and she's like thinking about how to decorate her meditating studio at home you know and she looks at the clock and it's been a minute and she's like oh my gosh you know but it's like for me when I first started meditating It was kind of a similar thing of like, okay, time is just like not my friend right now. Like my mind's a million different places.
Starting point is 00:18:53 But like I feel like people get into, okay, if I meditate, I have to do this. And then it becomes this anxiety thing of, you know, I'm not meditating now. No, I'm not meditating. It's like, pause. Chill, chill, chill, just focus on your breath. Like, that's the first part of meditating. It's just your breath. So, like, if you focus on your breath and you do that intentionally for like five minutes a day,
Starting point is 00:19:15 You can build up from that to really focus on complete meditation of just like where your mind's at, other thoughts, controlling thoughts, things like that. But you have to start somewhere. It's like, you know, Rome was a belt in a day. You have to start somewhere and start with your breath, you know. I'm willing to try. And I feel like I need to try. Not because, you know, I'm not, I have very low pressure. Like, even like in my most stressful moments, it's more my personality than I feel like like stress, I think.
Starting point is 00:19:43 We'll find out I'm having a stress test in like a couple months. Just my doctor recommended it. But I don't know. Like I feel like I'm going to fall asleep. I feel like if I try to do it. But I want to try. So it is on my goals. I'm not going to call it a New Year's resolution.
Starting point is 00:20:01 Right, right. But the intentionality is there. And I think that's what's important. Yes. Intentionality is there. Yeah. Yeah. But was there another one that kind of sit out to you this year?
Starting point is 00:20:11 Like ad wise that you were kind of like, Oh my gosh. Yeah, I mean, we talked and, you know, we got a few of our show notes, our cheat sheet, so to speak. But I saw it again on TV for the first time, like my in-laws. Yeah. They're pretty religious. So I was like almost like feeling a little weird with them seeing it because you got this big huge Satan or whatever. But that match.com Satan spot from Ryan Reynolds's production company is just hilarious.
Starting point is 00:20:34 No, that was awesome. 2020, you know, if you haven't seen it and you didn't listen to our, we talked about this, I think, a couple months ago. Yeah. Time's running together. Yeah, it was a couple weeks ago. It was crazy, like, because this just came out, and it was like the, it was the thing where I'm playing it too. If you're on the YouTube video, you'll be able to see it.
Starting point is 00:20:52 But the video is, it came out a couple weeks ago because it was right around, there was something that had happened, and it was like right around that time period. But yeah, it was just a couple weeks ago. But Satan matches with a girl that is personifying 2020. She says, hi, I'm 2020. And so there are match maiden heaven or hell or whatever you're going to call. I guess it's definitely a match made in hell. But it was just funny.
Starting point is 00:21:16 I'm not very insightful for match and how it's hard been very different. I can only matter. I'm like, I'm thinking to myself, you know, we all live in our own world. You know, like, as much as you like try to empathize and know these things, but. And Riley, you can speak this and then you have a boyfriend now.
Starting point is 00:21:31 But the idea or thought of trying to date in the middle of COVID. You're telling me. I hadn't really thought about it to like that spot. Like, hit me. I'm like, this probably has been pretty fucking difficult. It's been crazy difficult. I mean, like, again, like, we did long distance, like, in the middle of COVID. Like, I was, like, horrible.
Starting point is 00:21:49 Like, it was, like, terrible. Like, I did not. You want to get on the plane. Yeah, exactly. Like, there's all this added, you know, whatever to it. But, you know. Anyway. So I thought it was very insightful for match.
Starting point is 00:21:58 And, you know, I just thought the spot was hilarious. Absolutely. You had to watch the extended version because some of that, some of the comedy, I think, plays out more in the extended version. Absolutely. The WTF in the end zone. So funny. Like, like on the line. on like having picnic or whatever's hilarious.
Starting point is 00:22:15 It is. It's just a lot of little subtle. Like some of it's very obvious humor, but then some of us subtle, you have to kind of look for it. So it's really one of my favorites. Yeah. Another ad that kind of sit out for me was the Wopper one. The moldy Wopper, this disgusting looking thing that, you know, honestly, it just makes
Starting point is 00:22:33 you think and it makes you appreciate like the goodness of Burger King, right? I think. I don't know. I talked highly of Burger King. On the episode this week, the value meal and the nugget still blows my mind. How many nuggets you can get for like five bucks. But anyway, but the Moldy Wopper, like, I thought it was like, I understood and appreciate, you know, and being in the creative business for 20 years.
Starting point is 00:22:58 Like, I appreciated the creativity and the thought behind it. I just still was like, sometimes because you can should you in there, you're really selling more burgers. I know it's transparency. That authenticity we're talking about as a 2021 trend. It's like really getting people excited about going to buy a whopper, like just because it's going to, you know, mold properly because it's not what cheese it did last foot forever. Right, right, right.
Starting point is 00:23:26 Yeah, it's kind of gross. But I like the perspective of it. I say cheeseits and twinkies like never, you know, disintegrate or whatever. Twinkies like supposedly like 20 years you can, I guess you could eat it. I'm sure it doesn't taste as fresh, but like it doesn't. do anything. It's no degradation. I'm just going to stick to my avocados.
Starting point is 00:23:46 Here at lunchtime. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, exactly. Still, I appreciated the creativity and I appreciated the transparency as a marketing person, but as a consumer, I had my doubts for whether or not it helped them so anymore burgers. Right, right. Their sales, you know.
Starting point is 00:24:04 Yeah. Someone in their analytics side can tell us if that worked out for them. Right, right. I mean, another one that I, I mean, this was during the Super Bowl. So, you know, this was like months ago. It seems like years ago at this point. But the Hyundai Smart Park commercial with... Smart Park.
Starting point is 00:24:22 I don't even want to see if I can try to do it. Smart Park. Yeah, exactly. That was so clever. As a Southern guy, it's hard to act like I have a Boston accent. No, right, but, you know, it was so good. I loved that commercial. That was awesome.
Starting point is 00:24:35 It was funny. That was a good way. They had guys that were from that area or, you know, or, you know, or could actually pretend they were. Yeah. I don't know. John Krasinski. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:24:44 Somewhere from that area. But very funny. Very funny. It also reminded me of like all the, I watch a lot of Ben Affleck or some of his movies that were from that area. Everybody has a heavy accent. You know, not that they were comedies, but I don't know. I thought it was very clever.
Starting point is 00:25:01 Very, very, very clever. I liked it too. I'm a Hyundai, you know, I have a Hyundai. I have a hybrid. So I'm just like, yeah, Hyundai commercial. I was like, you know, it's not a Hyundai commercial. I thought all good. with the brand.
Starting point is 00:25:10 And I know Cancel Culture came around and got a hold of this one, but the crafts, sending nudes, send nudes was quite funny. And they, encouraging people to send boxes of craft to friends and relatives and all that and playing off the nudes. And they did like a fake blocking of the screen of the box. Right. Like you would do like in case, like the box was naked or something was naked. So it showed that.
Starting point is 00:25:40 And of course, it was just uprode. I think the campaign lasted like three days. I thought it was brilliant. Right. Yeah. No, exactly. Another one that kind of stood out to me was, first of all,
Starting point is 00:25:50 Travis Scott, I felt like was in every possible crossover industry you could have had. Crossover King 2020. Oh, that's good. Yeah. Travis Scott. Crossover King 2020. Yeah, we'll give him that.
Starting point is 00:26:01 We'll give him that one. But he, I mean, he was in a Fortnite virtual concert, which is dope if you really think about it. That's just going to continue. and 20 you know that kind of stuff is going to continue and then the McDonald's one with his own kind of special meal you know that was like the you know wapper specially made whatever and so that that was kind of cool too and I just the brilliance of that and I felt like
Starting point is 00:26:22 that propelled like other um you know people looking at other pop singers or rappers with other kind of industry crossovers and how can we get lady Gaga to be in Oreos or you know whatever it was so that that's cool to I think you're going to see more and more of that kind of integration, you know, there's, you know, with events kind of still being on the, off the table, with some other channels of in-person stuff, I think you're going to see more and more of this kind of creative integration of cross channels with celebrities, with musicians and all that stuff. One, because it was kind of headed that way and it's not that this is new. I mean, of course, musicians and brands have been working together for decades.
Starting point is 00:27:03 Right. No, for sure. But I think you're going to start to see more of that through all the social channels and TikTok and all you know leveraging it you know Omni channel and so definitely cool campaign but yeah all in all though it's it's it was a great year it was a great year the other thing that i would say it's funny just to wrap it up i guess but the if you're on netflix you need to watch the 2020 movie i'd recommend it it was like 2020 in a year the recap or whatever yeah um i just saw it last night for the first time and it is i felt like i was either watching a borat movie or i was reading the onion i mean it was hilarious Like it was so well done. Like at first I was like whoever produced that like the people that produced that. I mean, it was so incredible because you have to take something that was so. I mean, 2020 for a lot of reasons was very intense for a lot of people. And I think for the first time 2020 really unified everyone in a frustrated way, whether it was because of COVID or, you know, Black Lives Matter or because of the election, whatever it was. I mean, it unified a lot of people in a matter of like frustration. And so I just thought it was.
Starting point is 00:28:07 was really clever that this movie like totally went the opposite direction and just brought in humor and just like pointed out just like the irony of so many of these things and just like the comedy of it and it was just like so well done totally would recommend it if you haven't seen it yet so there you go it's new year's day or whatever you get a weekend long weekend with the holiday get a hold of that Netflix I'm going to watch it I saw it hit my Netflix screen but I haven't watched it I saw the preview or the whatever the thing was I'm going to come back to that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:39 I'm not going to lie. The first few seconds, I was like, are they being serious right now? And I was like, oh, they are. This is good. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. It was good.
