Hey guys, what's up? Welcome to the latest edition of the Radcast.
Here is the Radcast News.
It's Friday, July 1st.
Already July.
July it is.
Where is the year going?
Welcome to our weekly marketing and advertising news edition.
I'm Ryan Alford, your host, joined by Miss...
Yeah, definitely not Mrs.
Just make sure you didn't get married since last week.
Miss Christina Yossi.
Not that I know of.
Not that I know of.
Yes.
You didn't do it, you elope?
No, no.
I'm not above it, but not this weekend.
All right.
All right.
Any of you staggans out there.
Hey, there it is.
There it is.
Swoop up co-host Yossi over here. Just know my cat comes with me. Hey, there it is. There it is. Swoop up. Co-host Yossi over here.
Just know my cat comes with me.
Oh, boy.
Yikes.
That might have killed all of it.
There's an inappropriate joke I can make, but I won't.
I won't do it.
Yes.
I won't say it.
I'm going to stay away from it.
How has your week been?
It's been good.
You're on vacation.
Yeah, for a couple days.
Very nice.
It was good.
We were down at the lake.
Good.
Extended weekend. We did this a little days. Very nice. It was good. We were down at the lake. Good. Extended weekend.
We did this a little through Monday, Tuesday.
Lakecation.
It was good.
Nicole's out for a few weeks from the job.
And so we got away with the kids.
Nice.
And just laked it up.
Yeah.
It was nice.
The weather was nice.
It was sunny and warm, but not quite as stifling as it's been the last few weeks.
Yeah, it was more tolerable.
Tolerable.
And had a few cold beverages and hung out on the water.
Kicked it back.
Yeah.
Good stuff.
Did you celebrate iPhone turning 15?
You know, I did by taking some pictures and some stories on Instagram.
So, yes, I did.
And I celebrated because we did go play a little miniature golf
at a place called Oasis.
It was quite the Oasis.
And proceeded to almost get taken down by my sons.
We officially tied at the end.
Daddy came back.
Do you go easy on them, or do you like every man for himself i mean
i'm not i i take like i'll take a couple whole seriously and like you know like really and then
i kind of lose focus but they're uh you know they've gotten better let's just say that i got
you and i'm not playing much golf anymore so my putting stroke's like the first thing to go sure
so uh it's quite the struggle just to hang around never go it would ever ever ever generally speaking nicole and i are hyper
competitive and we do not go easy on the totally so uh i don't let them win but that's what i was
asking they're getting old enough big enough and coordinated enough that you gotta fight for it a
little bit i gotta fight a little harder you There it is. Just to hang in there.
But yes, the iPhone did turn 15,
and it makes me feel both,
having worked on the original iPhone launch back in the day,
it makes me feel both old and, I don't know, nostalgic.
Yeah, nostalgic.
Nostalgic.
It was quite the iconic device, and it still is.
Yeah.
It's taken over the world.
Taken over the world.
Were you always an iPhone person?
Like when she ventured into the smartphone world?
From the time I've had one, yeah.
You weren't a BlackBerry person or an Android?
No, you want to talk about how old I was when BlackBerrys came out?
I didn't have a cell phone when BlackBerrys came out.
This is true.
But my grandmother got one.
You had a Rattler.
Exactly. I thought my grandmother was so one. You had a Rattler. Exactly.
I thought my grandmother was so cool.
I had an iPod Touch.
I had an iPod Touch with my NV3.
It was my first cell phone.
The NV3.
The NV3.
I worked on that as well.
I thought it was so cool.
LG Chocolate.
Did you have a chocolate?
No, I had the steel blue.
Okay.
And I had the red one. How about the Motorola Razr? No, I always wanted one. I didn the steel blue. Okay. And I had the red one.
How about the Motorola Razr?
No, I always wanted one.
I didn't get one.
I wanted the pink one so badly.
That was probably one of the first three watches I worked on.
And then I had an LG Extrovert.
The LG Extrovert was the last one I had before I got my iPhone.
That was a little bit of a Bobo phone.
I hated it.
With a little sliding.
Yes.
My mom had it.
I found it. My mom had a Juke. My mom had it. I found it.
My mom had a Juke.
Did you work on the Juke?
Oh, yes.
Absolutely.
Like, bring the Juke back.
Hashtag bring the Juke back.
It's a MP3.
Oh, yeah.
And it would just like.
Yep.
The Juke.
I worked on all these.
That's so cool.
All these.
I remember the campaigns.
Oh, I love the Juke.
The iconic campaigns. And then the Motorola Droid. That was fun to work campaigns. Oh, I love the juke. The iconic campaigns.
And then the Motorola Droid.
That was fun to work on.
Oh, yeah.
A little dark, a little different.
It was when Motorola and Google took a little stab finally at the iPhone.
It chipped into a wave for about a year.
Yeah.
The campaign was good.
And then the iPhone proceeded to...
If I had been of cell phone carrying age
I would have gotten a Droid because I loved the
advertisements. I remember them.
Droid.
Oh yeah.
Everything iPhone
can't, Droid can.
Droid does.
That was the campaign.
I was literally in the room when we were
concepting these campaigns.
That's cool.
It was cool.
It brings back a lot of memories.
And yeah, lots changed.
A lot changed in an eight-year period there from 2007-ish, which is when the iPhone launched, to maybe 2015.
A lot of iteration, a lot of innovation in the phones yeah
last seven years there really hasn't been that much innovation do you think in the device a lot
of it has not a lot of it but I've with Apple specifically I think a lot has changed since
Steve Jobs passed would you agree with that I think a lot's changed and I think we found the
core identity of what the phone is good for.
Sure.
You know,
most people said,
why would I ever use a phone to take pictures?
Like,
okay,
but pictures,
music,
um,
communication and the social media apps and,
and things,
texting.
Yeah.
Like,
and that's why the iterations have been better performance of the cameras and
certain,
you know,
audio and different things like that.
Right. More storage. But the, but the but the actual like look feel and other like
large features just haven't changed that much because there just hasn't been anything kind of
changed i mean you know samsung's tried to push the envelopes with the larger screens the folding
phones and the folding stuff which is pretty interesting i'm not sure it's found it's quite
use case yeah niche you know yeah but uh still brings back a lot of memories and still be
interesting to see where it goes like i think the next iteration is like maybe holograms or
something or like i don't know like right like the star wars thing i don't know like if you can
beam yourself like if you're talking to someone and somehow they create an augmented reality with you there.
I don't know.
I think that might be the next generation.
Yeah.
We'll have the metaverse on our phones.
Yes.
We'll see.
What was your first cool phone, Nick?
First cool phone was like a Samsung slide up. Inside the keyboard. Oh, yeah. Yeah cool phone, it was like a Samsung slide-up. It had a keyboard.
Oh, yeah.
That was a big deal. Nobody wanted to get rid of the keyboards
because it was texting.
T9 word back in the day.
Oh, yeah. I remember that.
Yes. Iconic
iPhone turned 15.
In a little bit of downer
news, R. Kelly got sentenced
to 30 years.
As well he should.
Yes, he should.
As well he should.
He's quite the not good person.
Oof.
For a lot of reasons.
What a mess.
Yeah.
Quite the mess.
But hey, the justice system came through on that one.
And did.
No more singing for him except in the shower.
Oof.
Again. A joke we won't make, a joke we won't make.
A joke we won't make.
And on that, we have some TikTok updates for the fans.
Yes.
Yes, we do.
For the listeners, viewers at home.
Yes.
These are new stats that were released this week.
57% of TikTok users are female or female identifying.
43% are between the ages of 18 to 24.
And I'll call out that 50% are over 30.
So before you go, oh, I know it was just younger people.
Nope, it's not.
And that's still, you know, I mean, 18, that's still an adult.
You know, it's not a kid app, little children's app.
It's not like Webkinz. God, that's still an adult. Yeah, still got money. It's not a kid app, little children's app. That's right.
It's not like Webkinz.
God, I love Webkinz.
3.4% are over the age of 55, and 3.4 does not sound like a lot,
but that's 34 million people on this app.
Yeah, that's just how staggering the numbers are.
Who are over the age of 55.
Yep.
This is for everybody, and it's here to stay.
Users currently spend an average of 52 minutes a day on it.
I spend way more than that.
That is full disclosure.
That was a shocker to me.
Almost an hour on the app a day.
And 90,
this is what was interesting to me is 90% of them visit the app more than once.
Like it's not just,
you know,
at one time and the average session lasts 11 minutes,
which is enough time to watch 26 videos that are about, you know, at one time. And the average session lasts 11 minutes, which is enough time to watch 26 videos
that are about, you know, 25 seconds each.
Too big to ignore, folks.
A lot of attention is being spent on TikTok.
As you can see, the data is going up.
It's going to be interesting to track these numbers,
like, you know, month over month.
Yeah, even by the end of the year.
But 11 minutes per session.
Just constantly consuming.
And an hour a day. And that's going to be rising constantly consuming. An hour a day.
And that's going to be rising.
Damn, an hour a day.
People are wasting a lot of damn time.
You know?
God, I love TikTok so much.
I mean, you know,
everybody needs to have their downtime, I guess.
You know, it's just taking over where they're watching.
You know, it was TV before.
Right.
And now, you know,
that's eroding
at tv time facebook you know like it's taken away by an air fryer like i and i will go home and like
look up air fryer recipes on tiktok i'm one of those people now tiktok made me buy it is there
in there a hashtag yep what's tikt TikTok made you buy, Nick? Nothing yet.
Nothing yet. You should get an air fryer.
My life has changed.
Do you like an air fryer?
I love it.
Okay.
A lot of it's because my oven frightens me.
I think that something's wrong with it.
It smokes.
I've had my people in to fix it at my apartment, and it's still just, it might explode.
It might explode.
So the air fryer's been good.
A little bit safer.
You like air frying, Nick?
Yeah, it's good.
I've never...
There's sweet potatoes in there.
Exactly.
Does it taste like a fryer?
Yeah.
Is it crunchy?
Yes.
You do French fries and they're crunchy?
Mm-hmm.
Come on, man.
Come on.
Oh, yeah.
I'm telling you.
I'll believe it when I see it.
I'm telling you.
All right.
It's worth it.
We need to get an air fryer sponsor.
Challenge accepted. Air fryer. Br see it. I'm telling you. All right. It's worth it. We need to get an air fryer sponsor, you know?
Challenge accepted.
Air fryer.
Brought to you by the Radcast.
Oh, yes.
Speaking of food.
Speaking of food, we did this week.
If you haven't listened to the Radcast this week, let me tell you. Some weeks, inspirational, motivational, business journeys.
This is where you learn something this week.
You need to go listen to Tom Roach's episode.
One of the smartest guys in marketing.
He's a strategist at one of the largest agencies in Europe called Jellyfish.
And lots of knowledge teaching you about marketing from the top of the funnel to the bottom.
And how you need to think about branding, marketing, and what's happening on TikTok.
And what's happening in the evolution of advertising.
And so you need to go check out that episode with Tom Roach that released this Tuesday.
You'll thank me later.
And next week, my friends, my kids are excited.
This might be the one episode I'll let them listen to.
They'll actually be interested in.
Casey Webb, host of Man vs. Food.
He's been on the Food Channel, Travel Channel.
I think it's technically a Travel Channel entity now.
But nonetheless, Food Network.
And Casey was awesome.
And really down to earth.
Such a nice guy.
Had a blast talking with him.
And maybe more to come with old Casey Webb and the radical folk.
But more on that.
But you need to listen.
Casey was great talking about just his professional journey.
But then, of course, just the ins and outs of the show, which was fascinating to learn about.
My kids and I.
It's one of those shows.
There's so few.
And Casey and I talked about how little television there is that you feel like
you're comfortable watching with your kids you know like and yeah but so we enjoy it because
it's just talking about food he talks about different foods how it gets made but then
there's always the end challenge how much food can casey consume or how hot he is yeah he is
and uh he can eat some hot stuff geez Jeez. Like, I'm like,
whew, that might stay with you for a little while.
Makes you sweat to think about, right?
Yeah, there you go.
We're going to get to that in a little bit,
the meat sweats.
But, you know,
you ever had the meat sweats, Nick?
Yeah.
I don't know if I've eaten enough.
I mean, I don't know.
I eat a lot of steak.
Yeah.
And, you know, I don't know. I don't know. I've eaten enough. I mean, I don't know. I eat a lot of steak. Yeah.
And, you know, I don't know.
I don't know.
I've heard that term.
And it's like, I don't know if I get hot eating. Yeah.
No, me, I don't.
I get hot eating spicy food.
I did watch an episode where Casey ate like a 49.
He ate the whole thing.
49 ounce, like some kind of tomahawk or something.
That's a lot of damn meat.
He ate the whole thing in 30 minutes or less, and he did it.
Oh, no.
I would be so ill.
I kind of got the meat sweats watching.
Right, there you go.
But, yes, tune in next Tuesday, anywhere, everywhere.
And, hey, you can watch that episode.
See me and Casey talk a lot about food and a lot about his journey.
And he was super down to earth.
So check it out next week.
And you know what?
Next week also, it brings me to, if you're watching the episode,
it's easier to kind of get this analogy here.
But July 4th is next weekend.
It is.
And so in honor of being a little early with my patriotism, I do have on my American flag
hat that is a little different than the casual American flag hat.

I don't think it's not bad yet.
In a couple years, this episode could be canceled.
Yeah, I know.
National Postal Worker Day.
You know, I'm going to go buy some stamps.
There you go.
I need to make it to the post office.
I do love writing letters to people.
That was the only fun part about my brother being in basic training was writing letters.
Tomorrow. UFO letters. Yeah. Tomorrow.
UFO day.
Yes.
Or UAP.
UAP?
Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's the updated term. If you want to see some UAP, you need to come to my house with four kids.
There's lots of UAP flying everywhere.
You never know what kind of UAP you might get.
You never know what it is.
It is very unidentified.
God knows.
Yeah.
But yeah, do you believe in UFOs?
There's something out there.
I mean, not like in aliens.
I don't believe in like extraterrestrial.
I think that there's things we can't explain.
Nick, you think there's some UFOs out there watching over us?
Depends on what you mean by UFO.
Like aliens. There's aliens and mean by UFO. Like aliens.
There's aliens and flying saucers.
Could be.
Sounds pretty definitive there, Nick.
I think it's probably man-made.
Yeah, I don't know.
It's like,
I guess I'm just like a blue
when I see it guy.
I see the stuff online and I don't believe anything.
Most of what I watch online with deep fakes and everything else.
Like if I see a fucking alien walk by or fly over me,
I will be the first to tell you when I see it.
But I haven't seen that.
I believe in like ghosts in houses.
I've never seen a ghost.
See, I believe in like ghosts and paranormal activity and demons and all that stuff.
Right.
But I don't believe in aliens.
Yeah.
I don't discredit anyone that wants to tell me they've seen it, but I kind of need to
see it.
Yeah.
You know, and I've been some spooky places.
I mean, I have, and I've been freaked out.
My mind has convinced me that maybe
something was going on but in truth was there anything in front of me did i ever see anything
that actually ever in here no my mind tricked me into just being fear right you know having fear
sure but you know i don't know show me i gotta show me baby show me the money show me, baby. Show me the money. Show me the UFOs.
We'll see.
And, you know, I'm going to celebrate July 6th with my wife,
International Kissing Day.
There you go.
You know?
That's sweet.
Precious.
That's on Wednesday.
Next Wednesday.
Don't forget.
Kiss those that you love or that you don't love, you know?
The world needs more.
Well, yeah. Don't need any more mono, but we need more you know more love more kissing uh and then because it happens before our next episode july
7th world chocolate day world chocolate and how could you not celebrate world chocolate day i like
some chocolate who doesn't like chocolate look i... Unless you're allergic or something, like a dog. Or you're insane. Yeah.
I like...
Dark chocolate.
No.
Oh, you're a milk chocolate guy?
Yes.
Only milk chocolate.
No.
There's...
Oh.
Oh, I'm devastated.
Bitter...
No, 72% or higher.
Bitter dark chocolate.
Unless there's caramel involved.
Give me milk chocolate.
I need some milk in that thing.
Do you know
i'm talking about nick you with me milk chocolate no nick's a dark chocolate guy i think i like the
dark stuff i knew it like your black coffee too on the same page with my lips no but look i'll
i'm not going to discriminate against chocolate we're gonna have to end this episode right here
i've been fired next week it's like like Christina's no longer on the show anymore.
She's no longer here because.
Of all the opinions we don't share.
You know what I like to do with dark chocolate?
You're going to do the toilet one.
No.
That's where dark chocolate belongs.
False.
That's where it goes.
False.
Lies.
But that's all we got for holidays.
Yeah.
Trends in the metaverse.
We're just going to get straight in here.
I've got to leave that behind as fast as possible.
And I got to go find a milk chocolate bar somewhere to feed my face.
Dark chocolate.
What we got here so mark zuckerberg expects billions with a b of people to use the
metaverse generating massive revenue for meta this man and his money the facebook co-founder
explained he expects the metaverse to be massive and become a major part of his company's business
over the next decade he said and i quote this is mark zuckerberg we are at this point you know a
company that can afford to make some big long-term research investments quote this is mark zuckerberg we are at this point you know a company that can
afford to make some big long-term research investments and this is a big focus so to me
facebook meta is just pouring tons of money i mean he changed his like what else is a guy that
changed the name of his business to meta right gonna say about the metaverse and i'm i'm torn
between like this is the next thing or this is just his.
I just started a car.
I just opened a car dealership.
Selling cars is the future of the world.
It better be.
And I think it is going to be a big part of it.
It's the evolution of gaming
and kind of the world and shopping.
And I get it's the,
it's happening, but like, yeah, it's a little self-serving to a degree.
And, you know, he added, I saw he put this,
buy utilities to be able to be more productive in virtual and augmented reality.
So you're going to buy apps on top of being in the app, you know, in a way.
Spend, spend, spend.
Yeah.
It's going to be wild.
So it's obviously coming.
Yeah.
And my kids, again, like I've said,
they do care what their avatars are wearing.
So it's clearly going to matter more as we move along.
And to a specific demographic as well.
But, you know, like, it still feels to me like this dystopian world, though,
where no one's going to leave their house.
It's a little eerie.
That's where this feels like it's headed.
Right.
Where everything outside of the house, I mean, you're just inside.
You're in the faux world.
I guess it's a real world if you think it is.
But it still feels very disconnected and dehumanizing to an extent.
I think that's where the issues are going to come.
Is the dehumanizing, depersonalizing.
Out of body experience, out of touch with reality.
You're not out of touch, you're just in a different one,
which is concerning to me as well, or could be potentially.
So we'll see.
I thought this was interesting.
A serial entrepreneur, anyway, you're not going to know his name, and I'm not even going
to say it.
His predictions.
It'll be in the show notes, folks.
Yeah, in the show notes.
Predictions for the metaverse in 2030.
So 2030, we're still a few years away.
Yeah.
The next phase of the metaverse will be fidgetal.
Get fidgetal.
Fidgetal. That was what I thought too.
That's exactly what I thought.
You don't pay to listen to the show if you did.
I'd have to pay you to listen to my singing.
Combine the physical and digital.
That's fidgetal.
Fidgetal.
I had to Google that to make sure.
I was like, surely it's not that pedantic.
But it is. You remember that song, don't you, Nick? Fidgetle. Fidgetle. I had to Google that to make sure. I was like, surely it's not that pedantic. Yeah.
But it is.
You remember that song, don't you, Nick?
Oh, you don't?
Let's get physical, physical.
Look it up and we'll have to add it.
Or like, while I'm talking right now, I expect that song to be playing.
You'll have it stuck in your head.
Don't you worry.
The metaverse will revamp the education system.
I can see this.
That was interesting.
Yeah.
I can actually see this happening.
If you tell me I can go to grad school and not have to leave the state that's amazing you've got online schooling already
happening right so and it sucks if if kids can stay home and be in some type of hybrid
environment yeah that's a little more like this makes sense to me right more tactile than just
you know e-learning yeah on some level and then have a social aspect i can even see you going to
a campus and having these experiences and then your social aspect being because you still got
to be able to have raging parties you know so like some of us didn't get that and you can't
you know have ragers in the metaverse or can Or at Bob Jones, but it just depends on where you go to school.
I'm going to trademark right now PJ in the metaverse
and the bathtub that you make it in and some meta fruit.
Massive success.
MetaKeg?
MetaKeg.
Kegaverse.
Kegaverse.
The workforce will move to the metaverse.
Okay.
I can see this a little bit.
For certain industries, I can see that.
Yeah.
And then digital properties will have a greater impact on GDP.
Well, I mean, combining the last two articles,
if what Mark Zuckerberg hopes happens,
which is probably added there,
he has enough money to make sure it does happen.
Right, and the resources.
Yeah.
As more people and more money is spent
in these digital properties,
it is going to have an impact on GDP.
Yeah, it has to.
But it will be.
It's still,
is it in replacement of spending that's already happening
or is it in addition to?
Right, right.
Yeah, exactly. So we'll uh where it goes but stay tuned but i think again these some of these make
sense and i think that's where some of this will these practical use cases will start to unfold
sure and it might happen in a more meaningful way than just uh and sooner than we think, you know, t-shirt drops and right.
And when the games,
NFTs,
Roblox that are on every corner,
McDonald's meanwhile is staking out a virtual camp in their mobile app.
McDonald's this month is bringing a virtual camp experience that features a variety of deals,
menu hacks,
and other programming exclusively to its mobile app.
The virtual camp experience is another indication that the fast food chain views its mobile
app as a linchpin to winning the hearts of Gen Z.
This is a huge effort for them.
I think this is fun.
Yeah.
You know.
Do you use the McDonald's app?
Do you eat McDonald's?
No, I don't.
I take my kids there.
Yeah.
Every now and then.
They'd like to go
Every week
Every day
We go probably once
Twice a month
Sure
We tend to go to
Wendy's
Or
Something else
Chick-fil-A
Yeah
And I will say this
We used to do
I used to do
Hot Cake Friday
With my two
Middle boys
And they've kind of
Grown out of it
A little bit And then we had the Pandemic Which kind of grown out of it a little bit.
And then we had the pandemic
which kind of shut it down.
We had literally done,
because I have them
every Friday morning,
I was taking them to school
and we did like 128
Fridays in a row.
Something like that.
How special.
In grade school.
Yeah, that's really cool.
That's really cool. That's really cool.
It was hot cake Friday.
But you never used the app?
No.
Pre-pandemic.
And I know they had the app.
They had the app for a while.
But we never used the app.
Yeah.
I don't have it.
I'm not a big McDonald's person.
I have the Chick-fil-A app, but I never use it.
I have the Chick-fil-A app.
I have like a Zaxby's app.
I never use them.
A few of the places we regular.
Panera.
I use Panera. I think I do have the Panera app. No, I use my Starbucks app way more than I want anyone Play app. I have a Zaxby's app. I never use them. A few of the places we regular. Panera. I use Panera.
I think I do have the Panera app.
No, I use my Starbucks app way more than I want anyone to know.
I think everyone does.
I will say this.
As we've graduated from McDonald's, we do go to Starbucks now.
And when we sit there, the number of people that have ordered on the app,
like my 12-year-old goes,
Dad, I think we need to open a Starbucks. Because he sees the number of people that have ordered on the app like my 12 year old goes yep dad i think we need to
open a starbucks like we will because he sees the number of people coming in i love it little
entrepreneurs he's like uh young like you see how many people are coming in out of here and like now
it's like running joke like how many people come in and out of that place just with a mobile and
we see the same people because like we go we can go there between there and like panera like the last this past year sure
and probably went to starch 20 times on fridays and uh you see 85 percent of the people are the
same they're coming in and out oh yeah no they know me at my at my starbucks they know my cat
too i brought him like in the drive-thru just came out of the house like a dog but back to the virtual camp yes i think it's fun i mean
it's for the gen z it is it's cool i don't think i'm ever gonna drop my kids off there but you know
yeah it's all about being relevant to different genres i just think mcdonald's always like it's
just always gonna be there yeah. Yeah. You know?
I think they will.
We'll see.
So Slash,
any Guns N' Roses fans out there,
Slash is entering the metaverse
to host a virtual reality concert.
They've joined the metaverse
to host a performance
in virtual reality.
Artists everywhere are seeing
SVR and Magic Mirror
as the ultimate digital representation
of their art,
giving their fans a totally original experience
built for the highest levels of immersion.
Kind of cool.
It's cool. I like it.
I love Guns N' Roses.
You know, is it actually Guns N' Roses performing or just him?
It's Slash. Yeah, it's just him.
But still, I mean mean what is guns and roses
without slash i know but where's axel but they're um they've also re-released some vinyls i believe
yeah um god that sweet child of mine it was like one of the first like songs that came out i'm like
oh god that's so good then uh nove amazing. Then November Rain. Oh, yeah. So good. Oh, yeah.
Classics.
Classics.
At least we agree on music taste.
Maybe not chocolate, but music taste.
Okay.
Okay.
Peace offering.
Yeah, there you go.
See?
And that wraps up our Metaverse news.
I know.
Out we go.
Trends in the metaverse
but back to marketing coca-cola teams up with marshmallow for a limited edition flavor and
that's not just the food marshmallow that's the artist as well coke will release a limited
edition flavor in july so this month, that was created in
collaboration with Grammy-nominated artist Marshmello.
The new flavor, which introduces strawberry to watermelon to the Coke flavor, marks the
first time the Coca-Cola company has co-created a beverage with an artist.
I didn't realize this was the first time.
I didn't either.
Happy for them.
I like this.
The cans are going to be the black and white.
Yeah, they're white.
They're really cool.
They look like marshmallow.
This is fun.
Makes a lot of sense, especially with their new taste and combinations
and things they've been doing with the platform.
So Coca-Cola creations.
Do you like marshmallow?
I do like marshmallow.
I do too.
I like the artist and I like to eat marshmallows.
Oh, look, listen.
I freaking love marshmallows.
You know, I remember as a kid like stuffing my face with like marshmallow.
Sometimes you get too many in there.
It's a little scary.
My brother and I would throw the minis back and forth and try to catch them.
Have you ever seen the marshmallow gun?
Yes.
I wanted one so badly.
My mom almost bought them one year for Christmas.
Don't peg you, man.
Peg you with a marshmallow.
My kids have one.
I had one at one point.
I don't know what happened to it.
I'm glad it's the last one.
Now I just get hit with the Nerf guns.
There you go.
Right in the face.
Turn.
Because they love you.
Yeah.
From love.
That's the UAP right there.
Hey, there it is.
Call back.
I like this.
It's fun.
It's a great combo for the brand.
It makes a lot of sense.
And I'll try it.
This is one that I'll pay for.
Yeah.
I kind of want to taste it.
And I like Marshmallow.
Most of his music, all his collabs are good.
Yeah, yeah.
Every time I hear it, I'm like, I kind of know that sound now, like with someone, but
pretty good.
Nick, you like Marshmallow?
Yeah, I like his collabs.
They're good.
Collabs.
Collab.
This is cool.
Alka-Seltzer drops
a new hangover relief product.
I might have to get
some of this
before the weekend.
Yo.
Lake time, you know.
Lake time gets
some fun time sometimes.
There you go.
I'm going to have
a little marshmallow Coke,
wash it down
with some Alka-Seltzer
hangover relief.
Fizz.
To promote the new product
designed to alleviate hangovers,
T-Pain
remixed the Bears' brand
classic jingle in his distinctive
auto-tune croon.
The hip-hop-influenced take on the
plop-plop-fizz-fizz
earworm is available to stream on Alka-Seltzer's
website and is attached to
a TikTok dance challenge.
Always.
I see that.
Alka-Seltler is making a move,
a more forward play for the party-going crowd
with this new hangover product
in partnerships with Team T-Pain.
The modernized take on the brand signature tune
is intended to be an anthem for the morning after.
This is just what you want.
You want to put T-Pain on after you have a hangover.
I usually want something a little more mellow, personally know absolute silence silence but uh i might take it i might
try out yeah this is why not i will say this so the secret's out if i'm a little hungover
i usually take you know three advil and a couple of alka-Seltzers anyway. So there might be on to something here.
It's a good combo.
The trick, you had to do the Advil before and then the Alka-Seltzer the next morning.
That and an IV.
Yep, the liquid IVs.
Yeah.
Liquid IV, you need to call us.
That'd be a perfect sponsor right there.
And depending on the day, a mimosa.
Because that's the only way to get over it.
It's to keep drinking.
Those are facts.
Bloody Mary's anyone?
That's a Bloody Mary for me.
Yeah, no, I can't.
I'll do a mimosa.
You can have the Bloody Mary.
Yeah, I can do either way.
I'm an equal opportunity hangover killer.
I got you.
I got you, employer.
There you go.
I try to, you know, I will say this.
You get old enough.
I don't get that many hangovers anymore.
I know how to have a great time the night
before and i have a great time i mean i do and i can balance it out so that where it doesn't crush
my morning anyway you know like happy for you it's uh it's an old man trick maybe i'm just too
young for that right now part of it's drinking a few sips of gatorade and waters throughout the
night i'll do coconut water and take a multibot. I mean,
I can pour one on pretty good and as long as I'm drinking,
hydrated through the night
and hit a Gatorade
before I go,
Gatorade a few Advil
before bed
and then a lock seltzer
I put in the morning,
dude,
I'm ready to do anything.
I'll go work
on the plantation,
whatever you need me to do,
cut some grass.
My hangovers
are never intentional.
I'll pick the garden,
whatever.
away from me
and then the next day I'm like, oh, no mistakes were made. If hangovers are never intentional. I'll pick the garden, whatever. The night just gets away from me.
And then the next day, I'm like, oh, no, mistakes were made.
If I know I'm going out, I take the right precautions.
But sometimes happy hour turns into 11 o'clock, and I'm like, oh, no.
11 o'clock, come on.
I need like five hours of sleep, and I'm good.
Oh, yeah, no.
I mean, yeah, insomnia, but I was dying.
A couple weeks ago, I walked in here hungover, and I was like, this is the end for me.
Yeah, it's not fun going to work hungover,
really. Nope. But that's why
you avoid the hangover to begin with.
It doesn't mean you're 100%, but
you're at least
85 or higher.
Nick, how about you?
You know how to avoid them? Yeah, I like
Bloody Marys and Advil.
Put that on a T-shirt. I like Bloody Marys and Advil. Put that on a t-shirt.
I like Bloody Marys and Advil.
Yes.
Iconic.
Everything in moderation, including moderation.
That's a sobering reality right there.
My good friend, Abe Lincoln, said that, I think.
So the old wives' show was good.
I thought it was Winston Churchill.
Yes. But back to moderation, Kraft Mac and Cheese, said that i think that's so the old wives show was good i thought it was winston churchill yes um
but back to moderation craft mac and cheese they have a little rebrand uh let's see where am i here
craft rebrands macaroni and cheese to promote comfort food as something positive as opposed
to a guilty pleasure uh the move includes a name change from this is kind of silly craft macaroni
and cheese to craft mac and cheese reflecting on how customers originally or organically talk about the product.
Packaging will come in a single blue hue that draws greater attention to the non-perishable
item's noodle smile iconography, which has been redesigned with more dripping cheese.
Love that.
I do like, look.
Listen.
Mac and cheese is one of my favorites.
It's my favorite food.
Like if there's a lot of things like from kid carryover to adult carryover that just didn't make it, just made it.
Like, I can eat some mac and cheese.
I can live on it.
It's my favorite thing.
And the kids love it.
It's one of the few foods in the whole house that I think everyone eats.
Like, we got some picky eaters.
You know, you got four boys.
We got two that'll eat anything, and then two that are, like, the world's pick picky eaters you know you got four boys we got two that eat anything and then
two they're like the world's pickiest eaters and just about all i think all of them universally
except for maybe hudson uh eat mac and cheese how do you go wrong i mean and i can eat the homemade
kind the mac the craft mac and cheese kind the velveta shells and cheese sign me up it makes me
want you know what it makes me want to play?
That's me with all the mac and cheese.
That's what I think about mac and cheese.
Nicely done.
And it makes, I like this.
Hey, it's how people talk about it.
Right, it makes sense.
I'm going to have some Kraft macaroni and cheese. I know. No, I'm having mac and cheese. I like this. Hey, it's how people talk about it. Right, it makes sense. I'm going to have some Kraft macaroni and cheese.
I know.
No, I'm having mac and cheese.
I like it.
And hey, comfort free positioning.
I don't know how real you can really make the powdered cheese look or whatever.
Right, right.
If you get the shells and cheese, the Velveeta at least squeezes out.
You know it's good though.
It's so good.
It's so good.
Don't act like you don't get that there.
But making it, I'm always a little bit gaggy.
I'm like, all right, this is fine.
Yeah.
Worth it.
And I think we're going to cut it off there, folks.
It's been a good week.
Indeed.
Any final words?
No, I got nothing.
We were chatty on this one.
