Hello, you're listening to Parenting Hell with... Luna, can you say Rob Beckett?
Rob Beckett. And can you say Josh Withacom?
Good job.
Luna.
Good job.
Luna.
Luna Rose Skilling, aged 5
from Sterling in Scotland.
She really wants to be in the intro
because her big sister Leila
is in your audio book.
She does Chapter 13 entertaining your child.
Stay sexy and relational.
Thanks, John Skilling.
There we go.
There we go.
Job done.
One each.
One on the pod, one in the book.
Oh, wait a minute.
John Skilling.
Oh, good on John Skilling.
Good.
Who's John Skelling?
The dad, you can see, he's sent this three times.
July the 6th.
Monday, July the 6th.
Monday the 3rd of August.
Monday the 31st of August.
Monday the 21st of September.
Today?
Four times, yeah.
And Michael's finally bitten.
He's been changing his time of sending.
His first send was Monday at 8, 849 p.m.
Absolute disaster.
No.
Further from a record.
Worst possible time.
Then Monday at 301pm?
Terrible.
No.
You might as well do it on fucking Saturday night.
Yeah.
Then Monday at 8.34 a.m.
Good try.
Solid.
He's getting there.
And then this morning, 7.34 a.m.
Bang on.
Early skillet catches the worm.
The worm.
Yes.
Talking of work in the system,
I saw a really good documentary.
on Netflix about these Irish syndicate that bought every single lottery ticket combination to win
the jackpot.
I'd like to watch that documentary.
You'd love it.
Yeah.
That sounds good.
And does it work out?
Do you want a spoiler?
Yep.
So, yes, it does.
But they have to share it with three other people.
So they only get like a third of the main jackpot.
But because they bought so many others, they earned loads of money on the matching four,
matching fives.
Of course.
Yeah, they did well out of it.
When did they do it?
1992.
This is so you, Josh.
Oh, wow.
You love it.
And where's the documentary from?
A couple years ago.
It's on Netflix.
Let me find out what it's called.
But you will love it.
That is my scene.
We're currently watching the Kylie Dock.
Oh, I haven't seen that.
It's good.
Love a Doc.
Love a Doc.
Well, it's nothing good on TV anymore, is there?
So I thought might as well go on to the streamers.
Exactly, Rob.
It's called Beat the Lotto.
But it's leaving soon.
It's leaving.
What?
Last day to watch is the 8th of October, so you've got enough time.
It was done in 2025.
What?
Where is it leaving to?
We're just into the, what is sort of like space junk of content.
If stuff doesn't get licensed, it just floats around in space junk.
So their theory is we will win the lottery by, because the jackpot has done.
So they have to spend, there's a guy that does an equation where essentially it costs,
975,000 pounds to buy every ticket.
Yeah.
And then the jackpot was about 1.5 million because there'd been a few rollovers.
Doesn't feel enough, does it?
Because what if two other people win it and you share?
Exactly.
So basically, ultimately, I mean, spoiler alert FC, but everyone that was involved in this massive
syndicate earned about 40% profit.
Worth it.
So it was worth it, but it could have been massive, but it was still,
because of all the other ones, it's still done really well.
Did they have to physically fill them in?
Yes, so it's great
And then they had to go around to all the terminals
And then the lottery people got wind of it
So started shutting down terminals
So they couldn't buy the tickets
Oh my God
So they only actually spent 700,000
Because they couldn't get all the tickets done
Oh no
They still won
And that was a bit more of a lottery
Sounds good
Oh my word
Anyway, how are you going
So they can fill them in in advance
I suppose
They couldn't have filled them in themselves though
Yeah one man did it
With his family
Took him 10 months
No
So one man come up with a point
plan and then he sold it to these rich people, a few people with spare money, and then he just
took a percentage of winnings because he didn't front the money.
This is so you.
This is so you.
So me.
So me.
It's the kind of thing Michael would do.
We'd say, what have you been doing this week?
Michael?
Yeah, I could imagine Michael going, I've worked out a way to play the lottery so that I win,
and I've done it myself.
And I've got no one else involved because I don't want to split the cash.
No, I think Michael would more likely film the dog.
documentary of it. Of course.
Of course.
Would you, have you ever done a big grand plan to get a win over the big guys, Michael?
I'm just thinking of the legality of what I can share here.
Let's just say yes in a past life.
This one Michael doesn't show his face.
He's like Frank Abignale Jr.
He's wandering around 1950s America with little necklaces.
He's currently on Pan Am now to New York.
I can't really remember Catch me if you can.
Did he pretend to be a pilot?
Do you know what I'm really enjoying is all this of which is our normal general tangent chat
and there's strictly hardcores waiting for us talking about strictly.
Yeah, but let's talk about catch me if you can first.
So tell me about catch me if you can.
Have you ever seen it?
Yeah, but I saw it when I was a student.
So it's 25 years ago.
Yeah, yeah, that's where all my reference points are from.
Leonardo de Capio's Frank Camille.
And Tom Hanks is trying to catch him if he can.
If he can.
Yeah.
And so he basically is forging checks and pretending.
to be a pilot and getting the jump seats all around the world and then paying for stuff.
And then it's a bit like a computer hacker.
He ends up working for the people that hunt down con men.
I love that.
That's a classic.
Mainly men.
The poacher has become the gamekeeper.
The poacher.
Yeah, exactly.
So, yeah, that's good.
Can I want to talk about my week first?
Yeah.
Or do you want to talk about your week?
No, I'm happily to talk about your week.
In a slightly less show busy Saturday.
Yeah.
I attempted to buy or pick or look at carpets
because I'm getting the office done.
Yeah.
So I've got a room where I'm going to record the podcast in
and then another room that's just going to sort of be my room to work from.
Yeah.
I like carpet.
Right.
Does your golf swing?
Yeah.
I wanted a nice soft, squidgy carpet that could be better for.
Green values that you could do putting on.
Yeah.
And then I wanted a harder carpet that isn't going to bounce the sound around
like this hard floor does now.
Surely a squidgey carpet is what you need in your,
podcast room, isn't it?
Yeah, but it's harder to move like, like the furniture around and stuff like that.
You know, if there's going to be desks in there and chairs and stuff like that.
So maybe I could, but anyway, I walked in.
Have you ever been in a carpet shop?
Do you know what?
I don't think I have.
It's like a fucking simulation.
I cannot believe it's real.
What do you mean?
It's just carpet everywhere.
But I'm talking like 3,000 things.
I walked in.
How did you choose a carpet?
So basically, I had a well good Saturday because
the kids had parties.
One was over in like Windsor,
Ascot way, right?
Bloody out, that's a journey.
Journey bit, it's like friends outside of school,
but we get on with the parents,
so it's like a bit of fun as well as just the party.
Yeah.
And then one was at Blue Walter.
So Lou, that's a double up.
Lou, so basically, Lou had something to do in the morning.
I just chilled indoors in the morning.
I took the dogs, walked, chilled indoors in the morning.
Then Lou said, I'll take one of the kids to the Windsor one,
which is like, you know, three-hour round trip,
essentially.
I was like, cool, no, is it when I'll do the blue water one.
And she went, oh, there's a few people going,
so you might be able to just drop three kids off
and then another parent will bring all the kids back.
Went great.
Anyway, then Lou goes, oh, you had an absolute winner here.
One of the other kids' mum said,
oh, don't want, I'll take them and bring them back.
So I had to drop.
So I was watching the football,
first half of the football, the Tottenham Villa game.
Yeah.
Then in the half time,
managed to drop my daughter off and come back to watch the second half of the football
and had nothing to do until six o'clock.
She went to a carpet shop.
Well, yeah, because I had to do, because Lou was like, well, if you're at home,
you might as well go and pick the carpet.
Honestly, Josh, I walked in, right?
And I said to Lou, let me find the message I said,
Lou.
They come up to you and go, can I help you, sir, or are you literally blinding walking around?
I looked lost.
So they sort of come over, but I didn't want any of it.
Yeah.
I just couldn't do it because I didn't know what I wanted.
So I texted with Lou, I'm at the carpet shop and I'm overwhelmed, right?
So I panicked and left because there was just too many car.
I couldn't deal with it.
Yeah.
And then I went into the pet shop to look at some dog beds just because it was next door.
I did buy them either.
Then I went back in and then I was like, can we help you, sir?
Can we help?
And I literally just went, no offence, but I just cannot be bothered.
I just can't do it.
I just cannot be bothered to engage my brain into having to think about carpet.
Because it's a big decision.
Yeah, and there's just so many.
surely you need about five options and in different colours.
So I set this to Lou, right?
I've given up at the carpet shop.
I've just gone home.
Honestly, I'll walk to that.
There was 3,000 carpets.
Everyone's on me trying to talk to me and sell me shit.
I just, I couldn't do it alone.
I'm sorry.
Maybe in the week we'll pop in or saying,
or you just pick for me.
I just, I can't.
I just couldn't.
I just fucking loads of them.
Everywhere.
I didn't know where you start.
What carpet?
did they have on the floor?
What do you?
I can't, mate.
They swear they're all beige.
They're all the same.
It's like a hall of mirrors.
And then Lou message.
Just stroke them all.
Just stroke them all and work out what you like the feel of.
I'm like,
but my fingers never touch carpet.
If anything,
I've got to go barefoot and put my feet on them.
Feet off, like a man walking on grass
trying to get back in touch with the world.
Yeah, I just couldn't.
I'd tap out of it.
Also, I don't care.
Crucially, I don't care.
I just don't care.
And I'll just, I'll put out of anything.
Yeah.
So it's easier just to let Lou pick
because I don't care
and it'll annoy her if I pick something shit.
Is she ever going to be here in your office?
Yeah, she'll pop in.
Yeah, so, so.
No, no, she's got, yeah.
So no, she's got like a space at the office as well.
She cares about the carpet as much as you.
She cares about the carpet just as me.
And I know that really,
what happens is, you're probably the same
because like, in things are, some people love that.
Like Rose's interior designer.
She loves all that.
I've got no interest in.
No.
In chipping in.
I could, I could,
give a fuck so i'm just like look i will literally put up if anything i know if i pick something you don't
like that will annoy you so just don't involve me pick whatever you want you do you do rob what's that
keep moving out some samples sent to you carpet samples yeah we've got carpet samples everywhere
there's always parts of carpet samples send me some samples but i can't send you some samples
why not you've got them yeah but i don't know what you want either josh just didn't know what you've got
and I'll pick one of them.
Right, in your favourite colours,
have a look at them and they'll send you little samples
and then at home, it'll come in a bag,
in a, you know, posted.
Yeah.
Can we allowed 10 samples or whatever?
I don't know.
That's too many.
I want four.
All right, four.
Okay.
Can I send you?
Yeah.
And then you can...
Do you know what I might do.
Can I just put on the form and pick one for me?
Whatever you think's best.
I mean...
I must say, whatever you think's best.
95% of my life.
Well, we need to pick the child's name.
What if you think's best?
I've just given up and having an opinion.
It's exhausting having an opinion.
Yeah.
Especially when you've got a false one.
What do you think of this one?
Couldn't give a shit.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Yeah.
The crucial answer is I don't know.
So why should my opinion count as much as someone who thinks they do know?
Do you know what I mean?
Or someone that's bothered about it?
Yeah.
I don't know. Anyway, so I've tucked like that.
He's going to have to go this week.

When WestJet first took flight in 1996, the vibes were a bit different.
People thought denim on denim was peak fashion, inline skates were everywhere,
and two out of three women rocked, the Rachel.
While those things stayed in the 90s,
one thing that hasn't is that fuzzy feeling you get when WestJet welcomes you on board.
Here's to WestJetting since 96.
Travel back in time with us and actually travel with us at westjet.com slash 30 years.
is Lou the kind of person that will go in, sort it and be done?
Yeah, Lou's quite a quick decision maker like me.
We're quite impulsive.
Yeah.
Just get, yeah, get that done.
The way I look at it is ultimately, your first instinct is probably right.
And if you can just get it done in an afternoon.
If you're not a smaller carpet shop that you could go to,
whether you're not dealing with 3,000 carpets?
It was on an industrialist.
I think I need to go to a small little independent when I go, look.
But I just went in there, there was all loads of people there,
and there was all lovely.
You know, if it's on industry,
Is it mainly like people that work in the building industry?
No, it was like an industrial set with like the boots and marks and Spencer's and stuff like that.
And everyone in there was lovely, but they were coming over to me like,
how can I help?
And I just, honestly, it was like, I'd rather be dead than talk out loud about carpets.
And that's nothing against carpets industry.
I just, what do you think?
Like, nothing.
I like a bit, I like it a bit soft.
What about this one?
But they're all the same, aren't they?
I like them all a bit soft.
I like it soft.
He wants a hard carpet.
I hate wooden floors.
We've got wooden floors.
I don't like, I like carpet.
What about a rug?
There's just never as squishy as a guy.
And they sleep.
A small carpet.
I like a pin-down rug, aka carpet.
A rug that reaches the corners.
I like a rug that reaches the corners.
That's what I like.
We had the school fate.
We had the school fate.
Oh, you was on a stool, weren't?
You was this sat down somewhere.
When I got there, the head, she had commandeered the stall.
she was just doing the stall
so I didn't have to do it in the end
which was ideal
so what store was it?
Sweet tombola
Oh it's a good stall
so why did the head do it
well she was mucking in
but I think
this is my theory
and I would do it if I was in her position
were I a teacher
at a school
going to the fate
I would really want to get a role
God yeah
so you're not called it
so you're not free and easy
for people to go
So, what, I've got you?
Do you think we do too much homework?
Or do you know what I mean?
Or, you know, are you thinking that because as someone that hosts a podcast, you'd prefer to be manned to a stool to avoid small stool.
Let's keep this back on track.
You want to play the tombola?
Because there's a cue.
So let's keep this short and snappy because there's refreshers on the line.
Exactly.
So I will, you know, but then I got the best of both worlds.
I volunteered and didn't have to do it.
Because there's a school, my kid's school
do like a Christmas fate
and it's far out of that night,
but I fucking ate it.
Do you?
I can't stand it.
Why didn't you like it?
There's too many people.
There's shit rides at the fair.
Oh wow.
I'm horrible spinny.
Yeah, but they're like spinny light,
horrible ones.
You know ones that have been like,
they arrive at 7 o'clock
and then someone sort of tightens them up
and they're on them at 8 and I'm like,
this can't be, this is no good.
It don't look safe and it makes you feel sick.
Then there's fire.
Not for me.
feels like a health and safety
nine.
Considering that like
my kids aren't allowed
to like wear earrings for PE
but you're allowed to go there
have sparklers.
There's a giant giant fire.
They set off fireworks
and you get on giant massive
metal fairground rides
or built 30 minutes ago.
And like,
you must take your earrings out
for when you run alone
for 400 meters.
Could anyone tell me?
Actually don't.
I was going to say,
get in touch if you have worn earrings
during P.E.
And it's gone wrong.
But actually,
that's not what we want to hear.
I tell you what, email it if it's gone right.
Yeah.
I'll tell you, I saw the other day, I thought it was amazing.
Keely Hodgkinson.
Is it Hodgson?
Runner.
Oh my God.
She looks so cool in that.
Did you see her no outfit?
Yeah.
You're going to get one?
Because I think, no, but I just think athletics,
they look like right little nerds, didn't they?
Yeah.
They're tiny little shorts.
She looks like a superhero.
It was amazing.
Any long distance runners, there's just nothing on them, is there?
they're just like a stick because imagine the amount of calories they're burning each day
because they're like sports people long distance runners but they're not musly sports people
well keely's 800 meters that's sort of sprinting it yeah you sprint it i couldn't sprint it but you're
sprinting it but she looked great i loved it i felt so cool and it felt such an inspiring
look to sort of young girls getting into athletics rather just like shuffling little nerds she looked like
she looked like she looked incredible have you seen the thing where people run on the treadmill
at her speed.
No, it's a good.
Well, they just can't do it.
So there's a treadmill set to the speed that she runs there.
There's toxic men, and I can do this.
And there's toxic men who last about three seconds.
Perfect.
Yeah.
I'll watch out later.
No, she's great, though.
She's got great personality, isn't she?
She is our number one athlete, probably, isn't she, these days?
Our number one athlete.
She is Britain's greatest athlete of 2026.
What else has been going on?
What do we want to talk about?
Strictly.
Can we talk about Strictly?
I want to talk about it strictlyly.
I wanted to talk about it strictlyly.
Thank you for being so kind.
Thank you to everyone for being so kind, genuinely.
Someone on my dog walk said to me,
didn't your mate Josh do well?
Oh, that's nice.
On numerous occasions.
Do you know what?
I've had a lot of, Rob.
Go on.
My mum is a long time strictly fan,
and she said you were great.
Absolute, classic feedback.
Oh, that was great.
Did you enjoy it?
Did you enjoy watching it?
I know.
Did I enjoy watching it is a big question.
Did I enjoy doing it?
I loved it.
Emery Jojo, a joy.
It's so joyful.
Do you know, someone said to me,
so were you trying not to be as like
caustic and cutting as you normally are?
And I was like, no, I didn't even think about that.
I was just having a great time.
Do you know what I mean?
Maybe on other shows, I'm not having as good a time
and I'm taking it out on the topics we're covering.
No, no, but I think though,
look, it's the first one, it's the launch one.
Yeah.
The celebrities are all nervous.
They don't know who they're dancing with.
They've not danced yet.
You can't absolutely rip into them.
No.
What's your favorite bit out of it all, would you say?
Like, what bit was the...
Just the chatting, just the joy of the chatting to the people.
And then watching them do their dances and find their partners,
which was a great way of finding their partners.
And everyone's always happy.
In 25 years or whatever it is, I've never seen anyone be disappointed.
It's great.
It's perfect.
You put up a lovely Instagram.
Someone put like, did anyone find that everyone was just too happy on it?
And it was...
Yeah, someone said it felt a bit OTT and everyone was too happy.
paid to dance.
I'm like, that's exactly what this happened.
Now, I thought it was brilliant, Josh.
She'd be really proud.
Thank you.
Thank you for being so nice.
Got lots of nice texts, lots of nice messages.
I wasn't nice.
I was honest.
But now we've got to do it again.
For eight loads.
For ages.
You build up to a moment.
Then that again loads more, please.
You get a win on the first day of the season and then you go, oh, wait a minute.
Now we've got to play the football season.
It's fine.
You're just bed in.
Week in, week out.
We go again.
We go again.
We go again.
Did you have a watch party with your daughter?
Yeah.
We had loads of people around.
Couldn't hear anything.
It was, I would say, one of the weirdest days of my life.
I love the chatting.
You guys got loads out of all the dancers.
Because obviously there's no dancing properly this week
because it's the pairing up one.
But I thought it was brilliant.
It was like really funny.
Good chat.
It felt really normal and human and chilled and you were talking to people and stuff.
I think it did.
I think it was good.
I was watching it.
I was like, this is just strictly, isn't it?
And I loved your wandering around, dancing, singing.
It looked like Josh Full Beans at a wedding.
I was having the time of my life.
I was having the time of my life.
It was great.
But you, because I know you and you were.
That's just what you're like.
Should I talk about through the emotions of the weekend?
Yeah, because it's a very overwhelming thing to do.
I'd say it's quite an unnatural 48 hours in a human being's life.
Yeah.
That's how I'd describe it.
Saturday, very excited, because I was really enjoyed the thing.
the record of it and I just wanted everyone to see it.
But you don't really realise that you've been waiting five months for this.
Yes.
And then we had loads of people round.
And then because we're having the house done, Rob,
the internet isn't as strong because the boosters aren't out.
So you're watching it on the internet?
No, on the TV via IPlayer.
Right.
So you're streaming it on the TV.
And then IPlayer starts buffering, Rob.
Because of the demand.
It wouldn't work.
No, because I'm internet.
You've created your own button.
No, no, no.
Fuck, no.
No, no, forget that.
because if everyone was trying to watch it on eye player,
you'd create in a buffer situation that you couldn't even access.
The man with no buffer is now buffering the nation.
The ultimate turn.
You're like Thanos.
You've taken everyone else's buffer.
So then someone had to attach their phone, tether their phone,
not attach it, you know, like to the screen.
In the spirit of Josh Wicom being Joshua, combe,
I know.
It's so on brand.
It's so mental.
Like even...
He's so stressed at that point.
in my life.
You haven't even got a TV with it on.
I can't even watch.
There's so many people here.
There was about 20 people in the room.
We can't watch it.
Do you think it will ever change?
My life.
No, but yeah, like the way you like,
I don't know, but I just sort of,
you sort of assume.
Should I message Danny, my agent?
Yeah.
I'd say he's quite a straight down the line,
sort of efficient, excellent, good operator.
But like, he isn't really the show busy.
type agent.
He's a bit more.
No, he's not.
Business.
He's all business.
Shlow message of us and say, hey, Dan.
Do you fancy come around my house on Tuesday to watch Tempting Fortune together?
If I rang him and asked him, I'd go, um, I mean, because I would never ask that,
because I'd barely watch yourself back on anything.
If you'd phone him and offer.
So I'd ask him to come around to watch the final episode of Temptive Fortune.
I think.
If you did that and he came round, how would it be?
Like.
I think he'd, well, consider it
I've never asked him to watch anything with me
and I make a point of not really watching anything back
but they enjoy it.
Tonight, by the way, if you're listening.
Oh, tonight, yeah, it's tonight.
10.14, 9 p.m. Channel 4 tonight.
Yeah, I mean, I think you'd find it.
You've talked about it before.
See if you can see,
presumably in this episode you haven't had the shits.
No, yeah, well, you get, actually,
why don't you watch and you can predict
when I had the shits and at what point
I look a bit thinner?
Yeah.
Because there's a point where I think I look the best have ever looked.
It's because I didn't eat
for 48 hours.
I'd see if you can, you know, identify the bit where he's stressed because he's been chased
by a monkey.
Yeah, yeah.
Try and work out monkey stress and stomach problem, weight loss.
Yeah.
But, yeah, that might, I'll give you a clue.
Neither of those things happened in the first step.
No.
If you stick with a series, you'll start to notice.
Yeah, yeah.
Part of the beast is the must-see adventure of the year.
It's just you and me, boy.
One of the most extraordinary on-screen branch you'll ever see.
I'll get you home.

Okay.
When I sell my business, I want the best tax and investment advice.
I want to help my kids, and I want to give back to the community.
Ooh.
Then, it's the vacation of a lifetime.
I wonder if my out of office has a forever setting.

anniversary today. It's just not. So, oh yeah, here's an added stress. Yeah. So it's Rose's driving test
on Friday. Oh, coming up or bin? Bin. Okay. And she gets an email in the morning.
Yep.
We've had to move your driving test.
Oh, that's not okay.
When too?
About a month or two's time.
No.
Brutal.
Absolutely.
On the morning.
You've been waiting ages as well.
Oh, so?
Thank God she checks her emails.
Because I don't really check my emails often enough that I don't think on the morning.
You paid your license, too?
I have paid my license.
Don't worry, sir.
Direct debit.
I don't check.
I'll message Rommis, tell him.
Yeah, yeah.
If you can.
Another one, Rom?
Put it in your spreadsheet.
I don't check my emails.
Yeah.
If I was stressed about my driving test, I don't go into my emails.
No.
That means, presuming that someone who's ill or whatever it is, yeah, that's what it must be.
How ill have you got to be to sit in a car and let them drive you?
I've just found out she just texted she gets two free lessons as compensation.
Oh, okay.
I think they say two free points.
Two free driving tests.
Yeah.
If you, those two points get scrubbed off and you get past if she has a minor.
They're still called minor and majors?
I think there must be, yeah.
Oh, that's annoying for Rose.
So basically it's been quite a stressful week generally.
Also, poor Rose, doing your driving test, it's quite a stressful thing.
And of any week where she should be allowed to be stressed and have a bit of
sympathy and attention for a big thing that's going up.
Oh, Whitacom comes in with Strictly on Saturday.
To be fair, I was quite stressed free during the week, strangely.
It all came on the Saturday.
Yeah.
Then I watched it.
I could barely hear it.
It was good.
There was loads of funny moments in it.
Everyone, it was great.
Loads of good energy.
And it just felt like a normal episode.
I know.
I think the hardest part of those things is the opening link,
because you have to do a link that you will never, ever do on that show
ever again because you just sort of have to walk out and go hello we're new whatever when on any
show when there's new presenters you sort of must go hello we're new and do a joke about that
and introduce what's going on and then go right we've done that and then we'll never do any of that
ever again on this show forever yeah and then we'll just do the actual show but you don't want to make
too big a thing of it because it's not about you do you know what watching strictly also you
suddenly go oh yeah I'm not on camera that do you know what I mean it's quite you're
fairly, isn't it?
Strangely, I'm not a huge part of this.
In a good way, I mean.
Like, do you know what I mean?
You're like, this is a show that we are a bit of.
Yeah, 100% you're not.
It's not like...
This is the Graham Norton show.
Do you know what I mean?
But, no, you were...
Honestly, I was worried and you were brilliant,
because I didn't know how you're going to cope with it,
but you cope with it perfectly.
Excellent performance.
No notes.
Just felt like strictly.
More, please.
Yeah, I think it'll be grand.
A quote that always helps me is when they say,
if there's no enemy within,
the enemy outside can do you no harm.
So as long as you're solid in the fact that you've done your best and you're enjoying it and you are good enough.
Because you can only be you.
You can't do any more than turn up with good intentions and try your best.
That is good enough.
So the first live show on Saturday, we've got a busy week now.
We're going to Stockholm together.
We're going to Stockholm together for a conference.
A conference.
About podcasting.
Do you know what?
If that goes well, then I'll feel happy.
I've done that on the way back
What did all the guys say, Michael?
Did anyone say that was a great fireside chat?
How was it?
How many were in the room?
Were they queuing to get in the room?
Good, yeah.
We're going to rip this fireside chat.
Who do you think, Rob, has got it most together?
I'd say, you've dealt with a lot of this,
but you have been through a lot of this kind of thinking.
But you...
Who do I think?
I'd say, I wouldn't say,
Romish is immune to this kind of thinking.
I'd say me, you and Robich are very similar,
similar approaches to this horrendous hole inside of us.
We've attempted to fill with this job and worked out if there's a leak
and nothing keeps going out again.
But we're working towards it.
Do you know nothing's got it together?
He's got a brilliant balance and I find inspiring.
Alison Hammond.
Yes.
She, and do you know what her strength is,
prioritising what really matters,
the amount of work she said no to when her son was younger.
Yeah.
To focus on him and made her really realize what's important in life.
I think it's enabled her to take on all these big jobs with so much grace and ease and confidence
because she goes, hey, my most important thing in the world is my son and my family.
This is a bit of fun.
I'm going to go out, like I said, do the best I can and enjoy myself.
That comes across on Scream.
And that way she can balance it really well.
And, you know, I've worked with her and also friends of her socially.
and she's brilliant at that.
Yeah.
And she's so authentic.
And that's what I thought you guys were like on the show.
For like three really authentic people that love it, that care, and they're into it.
And that new lease of energy was, I thought, brilliant.
Well, onwards and upwards.
Thank you for all the lovely comments.
But if you have got any tips, so Josh, want to send them in, it's a lockdown.
Now, Rob, I've got to ask you something.
Go on.
Stockholm.
Yeah.
are we going to approach the plane? Are we all going to chat or are we all going to go headphones in?
Well, we will have done a day of podcasting. Yeah. I think we get on the plane, sit in separate
places, don't talk headphones in, just to add spice to the Reddit rumours.
Michael, are you checking in the seats?
The seats are already assigned, yes. So who's together?
So is you two in the two and then I am next to you.
but I'm the aisle is between us.
Yeah, yeah.
So I'm going to have a random sat next to me on my right.
Absolutely, okay, cool, yeah.
And what's your plan for the plane, Michael?
Headphones in.
Not even the plane.
Taxi on the way to the airport.
I'm nothing to you guys about that point.
Two bloody marries and a good old chat.
To whoever's listening.
Michael, what else, how much other time are we going to be spending together in Stockholm?
So we get there late that evening, so I suspect check in straight to bed.
Following morning, I imagine breakfast.
Couple of beers, a couple of beers in the evening in the bar.
No, you're not interested.
Michael's.
Can I suggest something for our trip to Stockholm?
You can't start drinking on it.
I think that's bad for the show.
I think that's bad for Strictly.
I think that's bad for us.
I think the Elizabeth line's better than the,
than getting a car from central London.
Well, should we sort that out off pod?
We'll work it out, will we?
But, Josh, well done.
Be proud of yourself.
Don't think about it anymore.
Oh, easy.
Now it's time.
for small business shout out brought you by Vista Print,
your expert print partner to help you bring your ideas to life.
Rob, talk to me about how VistaPrint can help you with your small business.
Here's an idea.
First of all, I hate badly printed merch.
You know, when you go somewhere, you've got to see a new band or something,
you want their merch, and it's ruined in one go in the washing machine.
It's heartbreaking.
The mug when the image goes.
The mug when you think, I can't dry clean this.
Not dry clean it.
I can't dry clean it.
I don't know how dry cleaning works.
Sure, you've got to give it a bit of a word.
I've never understood it.
I've never going to, I never am going to.
I'm never going to look into it.
Imagine you're starting a new dry cleaning business.
You've got some merch.
Yeah.
You want it printed well because that mug.
Sorry, you're a dry cleaning business doing your own merch for the dry cleaning business.
Exactly.
Fair enough.
It's a popular dry cleaning business.
Yeah.
And what is the new band doing, pressing trousers in the interval.
Exactly, yeah.
Do you know what I love?
A branded T-shirt for a small business.
Yeah.
So building firms.
Yeah.
We had a building.
firm and they came and they've all got the matching polo shirts.
Yeah.
With the matching logo and they all look clean.
I will look smart.
And at that point, I don't care what they're doing to my foundations.
I trust the polo.
Exactly.
Trust the polo.
It looks different so they look like a professional outfit.
Because they're wearing a professional outfit.
Exactly.
Right. Small bits of shout outs.
Hi Rob, Josh and Michael.
I'm a huge fan of you both at the pod and listen back to all of your episodes whilst
on a maternal leave with our one year old.
I would like to give a small bit of shout out to my husband who's finally taking a leap
and going fully self-employed of his business,
R.G. Car Care.
Based on Marsh Barton in Exeter.
Yes. You like that?
Yes.
It'll be able to do your car.
Does it clean cars?
Well, it's called Car Care.
I don't think he's stroking it and asking if it's all right.
I'll take it.
I'll be there tomorrow.
Right, okay.
Well, I'm in London.
If you're looking for a friendly, reliable and trustworthy vehicle technician,
offering servicing.
Yeah.
Diagnostics.
Right.
And MOTT appointments with local...
I'll do my next MOT with him.
Local pickup and drive.
drop-off services available.
I'm so proud of him for taking this huge step,
especially alongside our first year of parented.
Oh, my word.
We've over 14 years experiencing the trade,
not only we'll be supporting a local small business.
I've just done my MOT, so...
He's got a year to wait.
Yeah, sorry.
You'll be helping to support a young working family-make-a-dream-a-dreamer reality.
RG underscore Car Care on Instagram.
Great.
Good luck.
Again, all this will be on our Instagram as well on Sunday.
Get in touch with me in about nine months.
Hello?
Rob, Josh and Michael, I'd love to say I've been a listener since the early days, but that just wouldn't be true.
Fair play.
My wife introduced me to your podcast a couple of years ago, and I love it, and I've spent loads of time listening back to old episodes.
Listening to a couple of recent episodes, Josh mentioned he's getting back into photography.
I realised I have a small business.
Despite being self-employed and a parent of three kids, for some reason during lockdown, I decided to start another side project, an SP, and created front photography.
Front is a website you sign up to as a photographer to sell prints of your photos.
Oh, that's a good idea.
We take care of all the printing and shipping, plus we manage all the payments.
I'd love to offer a discount all the parenting hell listeners, but I can't because it's completely free to sign up.
Oh, what a sales pitch.
We take a small commission on each sales, so it's easy for anyone to sign up and give it a go.
It's a really great business idea of that.
Our website is www.front.photphotphotography, and you can find us on Instagram at front.

Well, I'll see you next week for the pod,
but I'll see in a couple of days.
Are you looking forward to Stockholm?
I'm going to try and blow our football shirt in Stockholm.
Are you?
Yeah, that's my plan.
Have we got any time for that, Michael?
We'll find time.
Yeah, we've got a little bit of time before we fly back.
Okay.
Here we go. Michael, have phones in.
going to a separate shirt shop.
Come on, Michael.
Now, he'll be all over it.
He's obsessed as me.
Michael, are we going to get to see your face in Stockholm?
Full balaclava.
Full balaclava.
He's going full protest in Portsman.
Jesus, Josh has got security.
Right, see you next time, lads.
See you.
