Hope's the only back of the day where it all started before them all I'm the only one who can't hide my team died Your team's podcast is so fun and crazy and has no rules You're ruining this First of all, damn I'm having a first-sorry
Starting point is 00:01:33 It's not any podcast This is an NPR That's what the podcast does Is there any better show? This need rigid equipment You know what, dude? We're back, YKWD, one of the longest running podcasts on planet Earth. I am here tonight on a Monday, seven o'clock, went a little early because I have one of my favorite people walking the earth comedically and human being wise and he agreed to do this show tonight under duress of friendship
Starting point is 00:02:18 but he's one of my favorite people. We of course we have Gabbyby with back. There's a lot of shit going on in the world. Maybe we'll talk about some of it. Maybe we won't. I'm very excited to introduce my friend, and I can say that. I've said that a lot of times and it wasn't real, but this is real. Colin Quinn, everybody.
Starting point is 00:02:39 Give it up for the great Colin Quinn. Hey! Hi buddy. Hi guys. Hi Gabby, how are you? Welcome back, hey. Hi, buddy. Hi, guys. Hi, Gabby. How are you? Welcome back, Gabby. Hi, thanks. Do you have blood on your chin? What? Me? Bobby looks like you got some blood on your chin. No, it's called sauce, cobarinara. I didn't want to say it. I was trying to be nice. You got sauce on your chin. I don't have sauce on my chin You do blood on his chin the new book and our Bob Dylan's idiot birthday blood on the tracks. I
Starting point is 00:03:14 Where right there? You see it on your right right here. Yep. That's not sauce. What is it? I Don't know It came off it was sauce Hey, it's Bob Dylan. The baby is birthday. Who's Bob Dylan? He's got a Gabby's father worships. A big troublemaker. That's true. I'm not a fan. I've never been a fan. How does he sing like this? Yeah, he does sing like that. But are you also been a fan. How does he does he sing like this? Yeah, he does sing like that. But are yours not a fan?
Starting point is 00:03:51 It's not that you hate Bob Dylan. You hate the people that love Bob Dylan. Right. Great. I don't know what that means. I mean, what do you? What? Why do I? You mean I hate what?
Starting point is 00:04:02 Like I hate those people like Yeah, you know what I you're absolutely right. I will admit that the people that like Bob Dylan bug me They're also the same people that wear goofy hats I like a fun shirt Nothing bugs me more than a rich woman Wearing a fucking goofy cowboy hat Like a ten like a ten gallon hat just because some stupid star Johnny Depp got a dumb hat
Starting point is 00:04:39 Where you saw you know was in some town and met a famous hat the most famous Hat maker in Spain and he bought a famous hat the most famous hat maker in Spain And he bought a dumb hat and he had the balls to wear it because he's a multi-millionaire and who gives a fuck and it doesn't have friends like me Who would beat you out of your hat or your pants or you shared and now everybody wears stupid hats? I just Just like how boy hat do you want me to get it? Oh Oh boy, do you want me to get it?
Starting point is 00:05:05 Oh, I hate it. But meanwhile, Bob, you love going to a town and finding the best so and so and then getting the thing. Okay, now listen you are absolutely right. There's one nice. Here's another nice. Here's a pipe. There's another pipe I got. You're absolutely right. You're good. Yeah. Yeah. You have some villain stinks. Bob Dylan does stink. Name one song of his that's good. Yeah. Gabby. That hat doesn't count. I can get that at the shell station down there in Yonkers. This is a cat. Why is this so obvious? We're sleeping in the Lewis. Let's be real.
Starting point is 00:05:46 Gabby looks pretty badass in that hat. Oh, that's good. Come on. Yeah, but it's all crooked and she can't figure it out. I know it's all fucked up. That's what the hat will look like the next day when she wakes up with some cheesy rock star. I hate it.
Starting point is 00:06:10 That reminds me, like, I look, I want a cowboy hat. Because you know, I was a cowboy in the past life. You knew that, right? Yeah. You, you think you were? No, no, no, that's not true. That's a psychic told me that I always felt that in my heart. And then I saw a psychic and we had her on the show actually. And she said that you were a cowboy. You weren't, you weren't like a gun
Starting point is 00:06:33 fighter. One of my friends was a gun fighter that protected me. I was a, I owned a bar. I was like a bartender. How was that a cowboy? She brings a good point up You're a small business owner around cowboys I'll be done fire I wish you was I had a I had a gun. I had a sick shooter. I had to protect my bar. I mean, I was a... He's a... Well, she said that my friend committed suicide and that's the reason why I've never tried to suicide
Starting point is 00:07:14 because he's always there. Anytime I get to that point in life, he's there to protect me, which is, I mean, he's been busy for the last year. Wow. Yeah, weird, right? Yeah, but it is. He's been busy for the last year. Wow. Yeah, weird, right? Yeah, but it is. You know, I mean, I just don't know.
Starting point is 00:07:31 I mean, I believe in psychics, but most of them just, I don't believe when they go into past life stuff. Why, you don't believe you were around before? I believe, I don't know. Maybe I was around before, I don't know. I I was right before, I don't know. I feel like Colin was like a medieval witch doctor with like a bunch of rusty tools.
Starting point is 00:07:52 What? Now, and he'd be like, well, you know this, this pick is, there's a history behind this pick. And I have a boring witch doctor. I'm, I'm, I'm thinking we're a no-at-all witch doctor. behind this pic and you say I've been pouring which doctor? I've no, I'm thinking we're a no-at-all which doctor? I agree with the no-at-all part. He was, he was trashing out the doctors.
Starting point is 00:08:14 Ah, that, ah, that asshole doesn't know. I'm talking about how to do it. He doesn't have to heal a kidney disease. You got to use berries and you got to get in there. You got to rub the kidney. You got to, you got to pick the chicken and you got to take the heart and you got to take a liver and push it together. You can't.
Starting point is 00:08:30 I'm the only guy who knows this in medieval times. I believe, I mean, look, here's the options in life. You either believe in religion, right? You go to hell, heaven, you obey the rules. You are from, you're reincarnated. We just keep becoming a bug, a cat, a human, a blah, blah, blah, right? Or you just live multiple lives. Like this is just one life.
Starting point is 00:09:00 There was one theory that I heard that was pretty interesting that there's only, that there is no God you are God And you because you have so much power you choose to live all these different lives as different people Well that theory is called blasphemy for me. That was a good one. Someone sent a picture of you in your past life, Bobby. Oh boy.
Starting point is 00:09:27 Oh great. Thanks. This should be good. Yeah. Yeah, I'm riding Colin. Why is that me? You know, you know, you know, legs. Those are.
Starting point is 00:09:41 There are never I'll never forget the horror in Japan when I was in your hotel room and you opened the door and boxed shorts and I didn't understand how your legs were holding up the rest of your body. Maybe a little skinny legs? Oh no, I don't. Well, there you go. Um, yeah, but you're Catholic. I'm Catholic.
Starting point is 00:10:09 What your Jewish, right? Me? Yes, you. Yes. Now, did you, did you practice, are you practicing Jew? Not anymore, but I grew up till I was like 14. No, I'm making money. Oh, no, no, no, I'm a Catholic in that way.
Starting point is 00:10:29 So like, I was thinking about this is that the Jews pretty much just streamlined Catholicism. They took all the good stuff like Christmas and they made Hanukkah and they made it eight days instead of fucking one day. Well, we started, We were there first. Yeah, they were there first. And I mean,
Starting point is 00:10:48 why would we take Christmas and make Hanukkah? What's that? Why would we take Christmas and make Hanukkah just like a shitty, longer version with worse colors? I don't even know what Hanukkah is to be honest with you. I've never looked into it. And it was eight days. And here's what bothers me about Jews is that they take Christmas. They do Hanukkah and they also do Christmas, which is just nuts.
Starting point is 00:11:12 Well, what? Who does that? A lot of Jews do both. Yeah, because you have the better one. So it's really where trying to buy into the better holiday. Yeah, just like a Jew would do. We'd be like, well, you everyone loves Christmas. What if we bought Christmas? You bought Christmas. No. Whatever.
Starting point is 00:11:41 You never saw that. Well, go ahead. You never saw that. All day special, the the Jews. Christmas. Iron rich boss. Which was not a Jew. What are you talking about? He falls into a category of blue college, you know, I mean? Like they've shunned him from show business and from society in general.
Starting point is 00:12:07 What do you mean? I blue college, what do you mean? Like when I grew up, there were a lot of blue college Jews out in Coney Island. And you know, they were like, sort of like half a tie and half Jews. And it falls as with cab drivers and, you know, city, you know, city workers and stuff.
Starting point is 00:12:26 And they were like, sort of have Jewish have to, like Andrew Dice Clay. He's a blue college Jew. So they just, they don't really, you know what I mean? They're not in the full flow of Judaism. Yeah, I don't know because, I mean, listen man, Vos gets very angry at what's going on right now. I mean, they're the ones that are more likely to be angry about Israel, but no self-respecting real Jew goes and goes shows you an eight year old BMW goes like a my car. They get they're like it's eight years old. I'm giving it to my son.
Starting point is 00:13:11 And they show you what they're doing. I love this before you freak out. It's eight years old. There's a dent on the side. It was a good deal. I'll tell you why I bought it. I'll tell you why I bought it first of all. I guess you're right. He's not.
Starting point is 00:13:37 He's a blue college you. I've never heard that. Like what's a real Jew? Well, I mean, like a long Island, you the sense of Westchester, somebody who's got, you know, like they like to find the things in life and they're like, they know quality when they see it, they're like, you know, by that, that's cheese, but we heard that, you know what I mean? They spread the word like that, you know, you don't see that, you don't go to that place, you know. go to that place, you know. Yeah, so it's not a high class, a regular Jew, right? Not going to feel food from a, like a club, like a, like a
Starting point is 00:14:13 United Club, or a, you know, a Delta club and put it in his bag and eat it three days later for the, he's not going to stock up for the next three days. That's a blue collar, Joe. That's a lie. He's not going to stock up for the next three days. That's a blue college. That's a lot. He's not going to know a regular Jews just going to go to the hotel and order room service, not make his own little mini hamburger turkey burgers in a mini George Foreman. Yeah. Well, well, I mean, either the blue college would do that voices. Remember something. Vos is shunned from Judaism. Does he know any Jewish people? No. Jews communicate from each other. And they go, Hey, have you seen this? Hey, have you bought this? Hey, I heard this is nice. Or this is good. They
Starting point is 00:14:58 communicate. Blue college youth do too. Voice communicates with no Jews ever. I saw him one night. We did open Anthony back in the day. I don't know if you remember that show. We did the show and we went out. He used to take me to the diamond district and above one of the places was this great Israeli restaurant, a Jewish restaurant, hummus and soups and and pita and you have to go up to stairs and get buzzed in. It was fucking crazy, but it was amazing. And on our way out, he got into a fight. There was somebody with a sign about Palestinian, Palestine or something, and he just started arguing with the guy. And I was like, Voss, let's go. We're full, first of all.
Starting point is 00:15:50 We're not fighting. We're both full. Right. You know, this guy looked like he could just murder people. Right. What are we going to do? Well, he's going to fucking, he's going to knock you out, stab me, take your rings, take your watch.
Starting point is 00:16:04 It's just, it's gonna knock you out stab me take your rings take your watch It's just it's not worth it Yeah, but here's the other thing my voice if you'll notice Don't just start to rip when he goes like a seller. Yeah, and he comes to and starts sitting out with people None of the Jews Acknowledge him or talk to him Dan Adamin looks over here Lenny Marcus gets up and excuse to leave. Gary Goldman starts talking to one of the bartenders.
Starting point is 00:16:31 John Fisch just puts his head down. Yeah. It's absolutely true. I've never seen him. He goes, Vos goes right for the blacks. He goes for the blacks. He usually doesn't have enough to do a voice. They why do they why? Because it's just you know what I mean because he's just you know what I mean
Starting point is 00:16:51 they know how many kids walk around rings on every finger like that. That's ridiculous. And he never went to camp. He never went to sleep over camp. He never went to sleep over camp. He just walked some of his rings. Of course he goes to the plane. He did get a bagel this morning. He went and got baggles. That's fine. That's a different story.
Starting point is 00:17:13 You remember the time when Noam's kid was getting his, was the brisse. We're all at his house. Right. And he was getting his little thing taken care of and Modi was there helping. And they had locks and bagels and cream cheese. And me, you and Norton and Keith started devouring the locks and bagels. In the middle of the brisks we ate before the bris. And in the middle of
Starting point is 00:17:45 the bris, Modi was like, um, Malayalam alaara and the goyams ate all the bagels and logs. They were really mad. I literally had a bagel in my mouth with fucking capers. It looked so good. I was like, this eating while this little pork kids pecker was being dealt with. Not me, I hate locks and locks and all that stuff. Really? I was eating a dry bagel. Yeah, that's, yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:12 Yeah. He likes dry stuff. He likes pouring tea on shit and wetting it. It's a very, it's a, and looking, I've actually, it's a weird thing, but I don't know, I've gotten to into it because we used to, we'd be at the seller and you'd get a muffin or something and call him and get a hot cup of tea and then just start pouring hot tea on his dried baked good and eating it.
Starting point is 00:18:39 We're looking at him like, yes, it grosses people out. Meanwhile, I'm always shocked because it's the opposite of gross. Gross, you take him off and dunk it and it's in the tea. This is the most sanitary way to do it. But it doesn't make a medieval witch doctor. Get it now? Yes.
Starting point is 00:19:01 It doesn't make sense. The YouTube bonding isn't work my potions. It doesn't make sense. The YouTube bonding isn't furiating me. I'm going to get on to every time. Ever since I read her script, I was like, oh, she's brilliant. Thank you. What script? That thing, the cerebral script she was writing.
Starting point is 00:19:21 Oh, yeah, yeah. What happened with that, Gabby? I submitted it to be writer for shows. That's the only one. Nothing happens. Yeah, by the way, that works. Well, putting like a really like intricate script like that. I did that. I went to Adam Sandler, got the guys at SNL when he was at SNL. He got me to bring some of my sketches in like 1993. So, you know, I'll give you an idea of one of them.
Starting point is 00:19:49 One of them was like a middle ages sketch. Actually, it was a Roman sketch where the characters were named sanctimonious and he's like, whoa, I want to be this and the other guy's name. He's like, he's being so, what's the word I'm looking for at the Soros? He's like, come on.
Starting point is 00:20:06 And still the Soros is giving him the word. So I show it to the head writer. I walk in and just, you know, like, any place where people work for a few years, just the body language is so jaded and cocky, you know what I mean? And you're there and this is when you would have things by hand, there was no computer. So I'm there with my sketches, handing them to them and I had it right as I could.
Starting point is 00:20:37 And I was just like in the corner like not waiting right in front of him, but you're sitting there like, God, suck it. Yeah, I mean, this is, you know, this is kind of, this is not the kind of, you know, can you see our guys barley and Adam doing this thing? And I was like, I was so mad, like he was acting like there was you dump everybody's blowing me off. And I was like, well, it was a nice way to blow me off, but it was still infuriating. Just a body language, he was trying to be like, oh, it's too smart. It was up there. Yeah. Just the body language was like, couldn't even sit up and put it down and just like stay in front of me like, leaning kind of. Ah. Where is that? Do you know
Starting point is 00:21:21 where that guy is right now? Oh, but I don't know, but it's probably doing fine. He hit me. Oh, that makes me sad. I always love when those guys empower, like, you know, 15 years lady, you just see him with a goofy hat on sweating somewhere on a train. And you know what I'm talking about. Sure. But the, yeah, but the, uh, that was an inside one. But the, but I've had, I've had, I told you I had so many of those, those moments where you go in some place with just scripts and stuff. And it's just kind of, you know, any job, you're walking to any gig and people are just like, where are the people here?
Starting point is 00:22:11 Yeah. Yeah. I couldn't imagine that. I mean, even when you go, like, I don't have any writing things, but I've done guest appearances on TV shows. Like when I did Law and Order, the Special Vict victims unit,
Starting point is 00:22:26 the vibe on that set was just, don't talk to us. Don't don't even do it. I know you want them. I know, I know you're a fan of the show. I know, I know you're an actor. We're both in the same union, I get it. But don't do it. Don't look at me. If you do, I'm gonna say something polite and then somebody with a headset's gonna come talk to you about not bothering the talent. I remember they both walked in.
Starting point is 00:23:01 I did my scene and they both walked in and I was like, hey, and they ghosted me they let me taste I heard a PA just go I Mean literally crack up because I went hey and they went good like I Exist on earth like I was just a Paranormal activity just sitting there. I mean they walked by me like I wasn't it was terrible and I Felt it made me mad. What mean, they walked by me like I was it was terrible and I felt it. Many men. What's that? They made me angry. Was it Chris Maloney and Mariska Hardigay? Both of them walked by at the peak at the peak of the show. They walked by and they wanted
Starting point is 00:23:37 not even eye contact and it was a hallway like in an apartment building. It wasn't like a set where there was five feet. There was a foot from my high to their ear. There's no way you could have missed. And shows are just the opposite. Some shows you're coming. They're like, hey, great to have you here. And that's weird, but it's still better. We're like, hey, thanks for coming. have you here and that's weird, but it's still better. We're like, hey, thanks for coming. Yeah, that's a weird thing too, because as a comic, you're immediately like,
Starting point is 00:24:11 you're fucking with me. Yes. It just sucks. I don't know. SNL really changed. And my friend Fred, I didn't even notice it. My friend Fred Wolf was the head right there for years, a very funny comedian too.
Starting point is 00:24:25 And he said, they must have talked to them or something because anytime you would go back, which I barely went back or by running to any of the cast from the past 15 years, they're like, hey, so great and they were like so nice that all the people used to work there. And we were such dicks when we were there. So I was like, yeah, it's a whole different vibe. You know, I mean, like there's so much
Starting point is 00:24:48 building like, Hey, oh my God, you guys are great. So it's weird. I was, I'm writing this thing with this guy, you know, we, we, you know, I'm talking about, with the comedy camp. And we're getting the stuff and he constantly says, dude, that is a great idea, dude. That's awesome, dude. You're, oh, wow, dude, great work, dude. That's, I mean, genius. Today, I literally said, hey, buddy,
Starting point is 00:25:16 I was like, just so you know, I'm not fucking buying any of this shit. And he goes, what? I go, I know it's not you, too. I go, it's not you, it's me. I'm just saying, when you say that's awesome, great, that was so gene, that was brilliant, I don't buy it. I feel like it's some horseshit.
Starting point is 00:25:34 So if it is, you don't have to do it anymore. And he was like, well, he was like, dude, I, he goes, he goes, he goes, I, he goes, this is, first of all, my musician, I understand what you're saying right now, because I've done that. I wrote a song and you give it to them and they're like, you got to hear this is brilliant. Oh my God. And you're like, go fuck yourself.
Starting point is 00:25:53 But I had to say something because he would say that, like I say, what about this? Oh my God. That's so good. And I'm like, I'm so not used to hearing. Nice things. Well, yeah. I'm like, I'm so not used to hearing with nice things about me. Well, yeah. In my head or otherwise.
Starting point is 00:26:13 I always think of, well, whenever you want to a new situation, like growing up, you're going to like a party and you just know there's going to be a fight. Like, who's these assholes? Like, you're like, oh, you're in another neighborhood you get the same vibe. But I always think of the greatest example was when Patrice went on the office. Yeah. The things to get back to me at that point when I was, I didn't even know the American way. I didn't know anybody around. So things to get back to me about his
Starting point is 00:26:43 things get back to me about his disturbing. I'm deviant. He had to be on the top. Yeah, he was, he was, people hated him for it, but it was brilliant. Uh, he would not, what was that thing he said? He goes, I'd rather make them feel uncomfortable than me being comfortable. And he lived up to us. He really fucking dead. I was just the up when I, like I said, well, I mean, obviously I rewrote a whole movie script.
Starting point is 00:27:09 So I was so comfortable. I tell you the Woody Allen movie. I get cast on Woody Allen movie in 1988, New York stories. And I was like, you're in a Woody Allen. How did a nice little part, you know? And show up at 9 a.m. they said said 6 a.m. I show up at 9 the second a.d. Like how dare you I go hey did it get to me yet she was that's nothing to do with this I go relax They didn't shoot my set next day. I show up like 8 30 is something
Starting point is 00:27:41 6 o'clock call. I'm like was not shooting. I'm wasting them a time. I went there for three days. It was like a comedy routine of hard blowing up and me getting there earlier than the day before but still two hours late. And yeah, but I was just like, what's up problem? You know what I mean? Like they didn't get anything. I mean just ridiculous. Yeah. Then I had a line in Bill Murray's movie. He did a movie, he directly called, Los Change. Right. I remember that.
Starting point is 00:28:12 Yeah. So I had one line as a cop in the deli. So I'm really just scripted. I'm like, one line, I'm on MTV. So I'm like, I'm too big for this. So I'm like, one line. I'm sitting in the trailer for two days, stewing that they won't get to me. Because I want to go back home and do whatever you know me or two days two nights
Starting point is 00:28:29 It's a night shoot Third day like okay relax, you know, we haven't got to Jump on the J train because it was right in the Queens By home never showed up never called, just left. Oh my God. What? What the fuck is that, dude? Just walked off. Why?
Starting point is 00:28:52 Oh, Jesus, I was too big. Oh, I was on MTV. My God, dude, first of all, I am so white trash, the fact that I'm in a trailer with I can, and there's somebody that can go get me whatever I want, food wise and drink wise. I mean, I will stay in that, I'll do, I'll say you in a script, you, and that's all I'll be there for a week and a half.
Starting point is 00:29:17 You pay me, fucking sag. I'm getting fucking pennies. I'm getting egg sandwiches in the morning. I'm at lunch. I'm sleeping in the trailer. Are you nuts? I love it. First of all, it was the head one of those half trailers, which is an insult. Oh Yeah, trailer. Oh, no half a trailer. I mean the movie is no good. Oh No

The, um, they like Michael Michael Shay Joe Michael Shay they are They're looking for people
Starting point is 00:33:12 Um, I don't well. I was a couple of months ago, but I mean I could put it in a word. I guess What about me put it away from me? Yeah, yeah, yeah, why not put it in for the pretty blonde girl. I Think Doug's Doug seems to have a fancy feel. Oh, no, it's cool. Oh, no, do you know her? Do you know Gabby's dad? Yeah, oh, you know what it's funny. I remember you were a little pup when I saw you know her? Do you know Gabby's dad? Yeah, oh, you know what? It's funny. I remember you were a little pup when I saw Johnny Johnny Bunge over I got backstage. I don't know you're Johnny and Yeah, yeah, I'm a little pup. Yeah, well, when I first time I seen you at like this big, you know, I remember I said to him, I'm such a big fan and I like living on a prayer and thought he was cool. He's like, I looked so hot.
Starting point is 00:34:13 I bet I knew you were a fan if you like living on a prayer, especially. Yeah, definitely. The deep cut. Yeah, that's what I thought to him. I'm like, that's fucking the soul with that song. Yeah, I need, I need to, uh, Doug, I need you to wipe your mouth. I think there's something on your mouth. I would love it if you could. No, no, no, no, no. I think there's something.
Starting point is 00:34:30 No, no, no, no. The thing where a lip should be right here, under your folka is doing. Oh, he's putting on lipstick. Hi. Caldwell is putting on lipstick. Hi. Hi. Hi.
Starting point is 00:34:48 Caldwell's putting on lipstick. Hi. Doug, we don't we don't do that kind of humor anymore. Oh, dude. Do you remember? I'm from Waterbury. And that would kill. Oh, I was fine with you. Hi. I forgot this. Yeah, but nowadays that's considered offensive dog. Yeah, you can't, yeah, you can't do that anymore, Doug. That's, that's, yeah, well, what are you, I'm gonna tell you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:10 Yeah. Oh, Oh, no. Do you remember that gig we did, Bobby? It was in Florida. And I don't remember half of it. I mean, I was too bells to the wind. But the guy in the back kept talking. And I just it was crazy funny night, man. I don't what I don't remember what club was it what happened
Starting point is 00:35:40 With do I got I would do I got a I did no, but I did Do you remember that joke I used to do about like Florida? like there's so many old people here It was in a kind of big laugh and I even remember pointing you Chrissy rock like that. I was at the seller and rockers in the back. He's looking through the door and They kept giving me the light, but I'm like, I want to rock to see me.
Starting point is 00:36:09 So I do like an extra 20. And he was smiling, I told the audience, hey, Chris, you rocks back there going up next. Oh, oh, I mean, I'm getting douche shivers. Literally physically affecting me. Oh, turn on the heat what you're saying if you had doose chills turn on the heat I see it's not apparently but it's it's funny that you do bring that up call do you I think that uh stand-up comedy right now.
Starting point is 00:36:47 It's funny to me that comics, what? I'm agreeing with your stand-up comedy right now. It's just survival. He agrees. You agree with him. I do, man. Stand, you agree with this point, stand-up comedy right now? Yeah, because it gets us all through these moments. People need to laugh during COVID. Is that what you're saying?
Starting point is 00:37:12 You know, because everybody's been so upset and they're like, laugh just the best medicine. And somebody says to me, go, Belle, are you going to get back up? And I said this soon. You're going to do. Yeah, yeah. Well, I mean, we, you know, we could probably get SD and she did you ever audition for SD?
Starting point is 00:37:31 Yeah, man, she, uh, she didn't like it. She was, she didn't get it. I would never hang, I would always kind of hang at the other table and I finally got to go on and she was down there the night that rock was there and she was the one flashing the light. Oh, maybe. And I'm like, hey, I just got up here.
Starting point is 00:37:54 And I told the audience, I'm like, Chris, your rock is back there. I wanted them to see my set. Oh. Are you a friend? Are you saying your friends with Chris rock? He came afterwards. I walked by And he said he's like good said. I'm like, yeah, I figured he's a fan. He's probably deep I digs material probably know you from the show Yeah, I asked him that as he was He was leaving. I was like, you watch me read my bell and he was like, it's wave. You know, but he
Starting point is 00:38:26 What show? Ring my bell. Oh, okay. I forgot. I forgot. You had your show. It was like a wheel of fortune. Can I? No, I wasn't. No, there's a whole lost to it. But I was bullshit. Bobby Kelly. Bobby Kelly. Hell's bad. Bobby Kelly. Bobby Kelly. You calling have a nickname back then besides Quinney?
Starting point is 00:38:51 No, it's just Quinney. Like you'd always come in with Cher and then be over at the other table and I'm kind of coming after taping and it's like, oh Christ bells here. Yeah. Really? It would do. Is that true, Colin? You'd just be like, whoa whoa I don't uh yeah I
Starting point is 00:39:06 mean I'm I'm assuming it's true yeah oh my god well I think Doug is very heavily maniceted I feel really good dude the important things you never want to lose your fastball never lose your fastball. Never lose your fastball. I feel like I think you're on hit with a fastball. Yeah. I think there's a little psychiatric units
Starting point is 00:39:36 and Doug's past 15 years. We cut that because I'm trying to do the show back. And like everybody knows what happened. And so I don't want that out there and people remember. I apologize. It's a cutter. It's a carousel. Yeah. Is there any way you could cut that stuff off your lip?
Starting point is 00:39:54 Maybe you know it. It's on top. It's right here. What is it? It's going to be. It's BDBDB. Oh, my lips. Oh.
Starting point is 00:40:04 No. It's on top. It's right here. What is it? I'm just going to make that. It's B-D-B-D-B. Oh, my lips. No. No. The other hand. Can't do that. I can't do that. Most of the stuff Doug did, you can't do anymore.
Starting point is 00:40:18 Yeah, Doug. It's just a crazy man. I was so crazy back then. Well, Colin, we were talking about Colin was on a show and he actually left it. But Colin, a double banger, first of all, it's called a trailer, then a double banger, and then a triple banger and the double banger. Uh-oh. Paulie F.C.C.
Starting point is 00:40:39 The F.C.C. And then we're worried about the, which is like, yes, like five speedboats. The honey wagon is dug that's where the bathrooms are. Oh, I know. I was the honey wagon. I would always go out sweet. We had one on Bell. We would do like locations.
Starting point is 00:41:03 You would say it was sweet. That's kind of creepy. No. No, because they called the honey wagon. Well, I know. Yeah. It's worth it. I did get a car, but it came on a set one time. I see no, I see Cameron Diaz. And I told her that I'm with the honey wagon.
Starting point is 00:41:19 So she smiled at you. Yeah. It's not. She was on your show. No, she was just in the same area. She's going into a rouse and we were shooting. So I called her over. I'm like, I had Doug Bell. I just told her, like, what's up? See if she wanted to come on. What did she say? She said, oh, cool. Yeah. And she, like, you know, she's like, you call my agent. And I was like, all right, we followed up a lot, but I guess the agent is not political. Anyways, Colin had a double, you had a double,
Starting point is 00:41:52 a double banker and you weren't happy with it. What'd you want to, you wanted a fucking whole trailer? No, no, no, I had a half trailer. Uh oh. Yeah, a half trailer and then the thing up from that is a whole trailer. Uh oh. Yeah, I have trailer. And then the thing up from that is a whole trailer. Right. No, it's three quarters of a trailer.
Starting point is 00:42:12 And then three quarters. Somebody dropped it out of school. Just when you think he's out of it. I like what I like the mudder to himself. Those those could be actually what we really find out what he's about. Yeah, he's sure. That interview is not long at the end of every sentence. Oh, so what's so Quinty has a trailer. Um, what are you doing? You're going up there doing some acting
Starting point is 00:42:42 and well, yeah, we're talking about how I was I walked off Bill Murray's movie because I was there for two days. Oh, and then in the downhugs day he came back. No, Bill Murray was directing a movie. It was called, um, loose shading. Oh, yeah, yeah. Billy wanted to direct. Uh. I heard about that. How was it? Well, I was there for two days and I didn't get to my one line. So I said fuck this. I'm leaving. I'm on MTV And I jumped on the train and left. You still on MTV to that so fucking great. No, that was over Yeah, I was there was over 30 years ago actually. Oh, fuck. I still shooting that movie. Um, no, the movie was 30 years ago too. Let me ask you question.
Starting point is 00:43:31 So did you get in trouble for that, Quinn? I never heard another word. I met Bill Murray twice since then. He never even noticed probably. So he didn't even know you were on the movie probably, right? He probably didn't know I was on keep my own directing I would have told him well he had a if he was directing he he I would have been like I was in your fucking movie blah blah blah what happened you know
Starting point is 00:43:57 that I believe I don't think Doug leads any of his credits or any of his meetings and showbiz. He's like a showbiz, you know, almost obsessed. That may have led to the problem. You know, Doug, Doug. Yes, sir. I'm saying that may have led to your... Doug, Doug, the table for two is ready. That may have led to the problem. Doug. Yeah, Clay. That may have been a little bit. Don't say.
Starting point is 00:44:28 Some of your issues may have come out of your, you know, manic obsession with show business. Oh, man. Yeah. You know. So. Yeah, I heard this. I don't understand I understand I mean I understand having an ego being on something but having a trailer is like the stars thing like there's usually only one
Starting point is 00:44:57 or two trailers on a set. No, okay then I'm this was one of the little box ones. The little slivers were the four and one the trailer usually it's connected to the honeywagon a lot of times. Yeah, the trailer they the Union guys drive them up. That's correct. Yeah, that's correct. Thank you, Doug. Yeah, friend of mine's a teamster. Oh, well, it's interesting. So they minds of teams to. Oh, well, it's interesting. So they, they, I don't understand though, there's the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, rooms, and then regular big trailer. Well, I've never seen what you're talking about. I think I was in the triple banger, but you're in a triple banger. Oh, it's not better. Well, no, it's not better.
Starting point is 00:45:53 Three rooms are going around. You give a party in there. That party in the trailer was snoop was doing something. I was over there. Who snoop? Oh, snoop, Snoop dog. Yeah. Well, Doug was like 2004 was one was ring my, what was that show? We're on the CW. We were seven from 2004. And then they put us, uh, is that during the small village years? What was going on
Starting point is 00:46:22 then? Well, they, they gave us a bad time they fuck pretty good excuse my French they put us on it like 1 30 to 2 a.m. on Saturday. That is a bad time. We were 39s in that time slot. That was before the streaming services 39th is pretty low. So anyway it was one of those triple bangers, I guess, but it was a small place I couldn't really lie down. It was fine, but I was just, like I said, remember, I'm on MTV. I'm flying business class. It's in hotels. That style. Right. So I mean, to put me in that little trailer, the stupid police uniform, it just started to get to be a resentment in my head And I was like, what am I doing here? What was your line? What was your line? I think my life I was in the deli and I was supposed to put the uniform on
Starting point is 00:47:14 Plus you know, it is decent donuts I don't know what's in the I'm glad you're like that's a funny cop line, I guess Well, what was the line tell Tell us the lines in the hall. Let's. Oh, I remember. I think the line was like, did you see, did you see a guy in a clown suit come through here?
Starting point is 00:47:36 That'd be so easy to spot, man. And you. I mean, and Bobby, I would love it if you wiped your lip off. Making me stick to my stomach. On the top one, the top one. Below you with a mustache should be. I'm mustache wrong guy. I hate you for laughing at him. Wrong guy.
Starting point is 00:48:09 Wrong guy. I remember I was on. He's probably part of his face except that point. I remember was I did ghost town when I booked ghost town. And uh, yeah, uh, Rick, uh, Rick, uh, Rick, uh, Rick, uh, Rick, uh, Rick, uh, Rick and I wanted in my brain, I'm like, Rick, he's a comic. We're gonna get talking. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:33 We're gonna become pals. Yeah. Yeah. That's what I meant. Um, I, I, I seen Rick, uh, uh, I, I, dude, I love the office. So I seen him and I was like, dude, I kept talking about all the funny stuff he did with Dwight and with Stan Lee. It was cool.
Starting point is 00:48:51 He's getting into his car. I feel like those guys are on the American office. Anyways, I was, I was, we had a scene where he's in the bed and all the ghosts are around him. Oh, I see that. I see that. That was cool. All the ghosts, what happened? All the ghosts. What happened?
Starting point is 00:49:25 All the ghosts around him. And I was construction number two. There was three of us. And we're sitting there and we're all, we're just bugging him. Who are the other guys who was one in three? I don't know. What a real conflict. I'm not being serious, too.
Starting point is 00:49:40 What are you doing? Yeah, what are you looking at? I know. I was doing the union guys. You should use for that. I was I was the only comedian besides Ricky that was in the cast. Oh, Ricky. How funny is he? Dude.
Starting point is 00:49:51 He's very funny. So I were we're around his bed and what we're doing we're bugging him to talk to our people because he can he can hear us and talk to them right? Right. Go. because he can hear us and talk to them, right? Right, coach. So, I kept bringing up like gigs. Yeah, I got to get this weekend, you know, like thinking that he needs to hear. Oh!
Starting point is 00:50:16 But one of the, one of the ghosts was naked, they called them naked ghosts, and he was just this goofy guy and he was naked and he's sitting right next to Ricky and him and Ricky were talking I mean they were having the most they were laughing. He made Ricky laugh with that Ricky Hey, what about that laugh? Yes, and I'm just sitting right behind We were I told him something and he was cracking up. He said, great laughs. He does have a good laugh.
Starting point is 00:50:48 He's not a great laugh. Yeah. And he, he, he, he, he fucking, I mean, didn't even acknowledge me. I kept going, yeah, I got to work the salad this weekend. I got a couple of shows. Oh, what is that? I gave you some tickets if you want. Like you could, like the other people were like, I was like, yeah, I'll get you whatever you want to go.
Starting point is 00:51:12 I just do Fridays and Saturdays, you know? I have a show tonight, I nothing, nothing. Him and that naked guy were just chumming it up. Uh-oh. That's great. Uh-oh. But here's another, here's what fucking fuck, here's what fuck me on that show. We're just chumming it up. Uh oh. That's great. Uh oh. But here's another, here's what fucking fuck, here's what fucked me on that show on that movie set.
Starting point is 00:51:30 The first day, I've been on a few sets up till then, because I was doing a lot of work. I think it's that bad. Yeah. So I walked on the set and I wasn't there. I was just, what? What? Please for the love of God wipe it off. Please.
Starting point is 00:51:49 I'm still taking classes. Man, I'm trying to get a good one. Whatever it is, one of them. Just get one of them off. You know, I'm trying to get a good one. Just two of them. They look like little baby teeth. Please.
Starting point is 00:52:03 I don't know what you ate. If you had corn, you have some of the blue. You swallowed a bag of the medication, maybe a side effect. You know, it's like makes my script my skin crawl. It really is a nice touch. I touch it people actually. So, so the first day on set, I walked on and I saw me with a comedian. I would have walked right up to him, fucking some madam. He did meet him. Well, he should have done some lines, man, made him laugh. How to crack the mop. So, so I, I, the, who was it, the AD and one of the, you know, the, the, there's
Starting point is 00:53:12 the director, there's the director and then did. Yeah, that's on the set. So one of them had, one of them had a Yankee hat on. Oh, and I was like, I was like, that's fine. Just an ass, just an ass. So it's almost like working out. It's like working out. I'm like, how would you know? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:41 It's like working out. I'm like, how would you know? So the second idea he had to have a Yankee sat on, and I was like, yeah, fuck him. With the red socks just killed him. I go, yeah, fuck him. Yeah. I go, come on, buddy. I go, we fucking smoked you. Greatest collapse in history, huh? And he was like what?
Starting point is 00:54:08 He's like, what are you talking about? It was just a hat to him. He's like, stop talking to me like that. Go to you. Let's go. Go. These two guys gave me the broken toilet trailer for the rest of the shoot. My trailer for the rest of the shoot. My toilet smelled like just fucking, just smelled like fucking just PC's and piss. And I'd be like, my toilet's broken. Oh, yeah, we're getting on it. And they never, they never got it. You told Ricky, man, that's what I would have done. told them yeah told them what on the set about the trailer tell them the toilets broke but he didn't really know wiki that well let's say bring him over to come check this come take a look at that check one out tell him that my trailer because I I got to familiar with the fucking
Starting point is 00:55:00 for a D's and I and I I snapped on them like we've been hanging out since college about a fucking game It was a lice left could you take a sip of something Doug? I don't know water just take a sip of something maybe it's You sound like dry lips Sound Thursday. Oh my god, but um, there was a scene in them I've talked about this before but there's a scene. Oh, just we oh, dude. Were you running down a hill? How funny is that? He's worth the fucking chip. I would fucking let chip babysit max. I'd bring chip to a rubour on vacation with us. Before you never got off, if Doug would just pass away. way. Everything we would run into a hell flat dude. That's fucking.
Starting point is 00:56:09 Look, it's cleaned up a little bit. I feel like oh, no, it's yeah. Yeah. No, it's right there. It's hanging off. Whatever it is. It's hanging off. I was swallowed by a tongue right now. Where'd he go? You have. That was. What? I can't.
Starting point is 00:56:34 I'm just, I'm gonna laugh. I can't do it. Oh, Jim. Hi, Jim. How are you, Jim? Good, man. How are you? You got the same house as fucking Doug. I you know
Starting point is 00:56:47 some things you plan on doing for 30 seconds and it just goes for way too long. I'm not doing that for 30 seconds. Oh my god. I apologize. Doug is the story. So yeah. No, I so I was coming we all have to run down this hill. And I, I don't know, my, I was just, you know, of course I was fat at the time. And I ran down the hill and my arm started swinging like windmills. And I couldn't stop it. It was the only thing keeping me upright. And I ran by camera.
Starting point is 00:57:20 My arms are just swinging. And as soon as they yelled cut the director went why the fuck was he running like that? And he goes where is he? Where is he? And he calls me over and he goes why would you do that? Why would you run like that? I go because I'm fat. I couldn't control it. And if you look in the movie, they have me in the movie doing it. They kept that tape. That's the tape he used, whoever edited it.
Starting point is 00:57:52 Right. There was a couple guys on the internet, a couple of offense that would get drunk and high and watch that, just that clip. I was like, you can hear him going, here he comes, here he comes, there he is, there he is, there is Bobby. Of course they were. Yeah. Yeah. Have you, Norton, when you were on, you were on the movie with, what was the movie with Brook Shields and Patrice, very vengeance and,
Starting point is 00:58:20 and Brendan Frazier. And you, but didn't you guys get in trouble on that? No, dummy kept complaining loudly about like we had to wait all day to do and the director called us into the kitchen of the house to talk to all of us. And he's just being making, uh, making me want to literally while the guy is talking.
Starting point is 00:58:41 Jonathan was both of our manager. I'm like, what the fuck is he doing a fire? What's he doing? He was just being absolutely obnoxious Unbeknownst bearable Yeah, I have that one take where he we had to he had to walk down a hill and he yeah That's the same outfit I had in fucking ghost town. Yeah, it is actually yeah That's the same outfit I had in fucking ghost town. Yeah, it is actually. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:09 Yeah, he was unbearable. Didn't he fall in the hole or something? Didn't he fall? No, he just walked right into the hill. He was supposed to walk down a hill and he just couldn't stop himself and he ran into the camera. And you could just kind of see him coming
Starting point is 00:59:21 and they kept showing it on the monitor and I wasn't supposed to, but I filmed it. I was, I've never been happier. Yeah, he fucking big dope couldn't stop himself going down the hill and the whole fine. I know he feels a tired man. Yeah, I know he feels. All right.
Starting point is 00:59:38 Well, listen, we're going to go into the YKWD overtime right now. patreon.com for 10 minutes or so.
