You're a generational yapper like me.
That's why I had to make yapping a job.
And now you can catch full episodes of my show on YouTube.

The guy I've got it is.
On recent episodes of The Questlove Show, I chatted with Jojo about her music and Wallo 267 about his story, everything in between.
Don't invite me to karaoke.
I'm going to make it weird.
Someone's going to try to sing, leave it out or too little too late, or baby it's you.
Oh, no.
And I'm going to be like, okay, okay, cool.
Check out my conversation with Jojo, Wolo 267, and more on the Questlove show.

Peace.
The miles change how you move, but more importantly, they change how you show up for your life.
I'm Emily Abadi.
On The Hurti with Emily Abadi podcast, I sit down with elite athletes, record holders, coaches, and everyday runners to unpack the mindset behind pushing through when things get tough.
Because the discipline, grace, and grit you build out there on the pavement, that's what helps you show up as your best self everywhere else.
I'd just love to say I never know who's watching.
So you want to make sure you, you through and through, and you just stay true to who you are.
Listen to Hurtle with Emily Abadi on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
I've been hearing for decades that the markets can solve climate change.
Today, we have more incentives for market solutions than ever, and emissions are rising.
On this season of drilled, Carbon Cowboys, the story of three market solutions colliding in one multinational boondoggle.
You got to give Bruce of the guy's credit.
They're Republican. They don't give a shit about him.
It's that.
Listen on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
I had just seen Ice Tea guest at the Apollo at the Snoop Dog concert.
And I told him that.
And he sort of looked me up and down and went, huh.
Hi, I'm Lisa Trager.
And I'm Kara Klink.
And together, we host That's Mess Up, a podcast where we recap Law & Order SVU,
dig into the actual crimes and interview actors from the episode.
Like former SVU guest star Bradley Whitford.
Often I would meet people who would assume that there was something sort of Ted Bundy about me
because of these sort of characters that I play.
And we're celebrating our 300th episode in style with the one, the only, John Stamos.
There's nobody better to play this character.
I'm like, what is this?
He's a reproductive abuser and he tries to impregnate as many women.
I'm like, really? I'm the guy like that?
Okay, fine.
Get the story behind the rip from the headline story on That's Messed Up.

The video looks phenomenal.
See, this is between Black Star Network and Black-owned media and something like CNN.

And Beescape.
It's time to be smart.
Bring your eyeballs home.
You dig?
It is October 14th, 2026 coming up of Rolla Martin on Filters streaming live on the Black Star Network.
Get Out the Vote Tours are in full effect.
We'll talk to Melanie Campbell, CEO and president of the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation about their power of the sister vote tour.
Also, we hear from Bishop William Barber about the repairs of the breaches, 100 days of mobilization, and 1,000 marches to the polls.
Once again, the Trump administration is pushing to confuse voters and convince election officials to purge voter rolls by using.
a flimsy tactic that they could undermine elections.
We'll talk to a fellow with the Center for American Progress.
Folks, it was a maga meltdown in Maryland.
Congressman Andy Harris loses his cool and lashes out at audience members and journalists
during a Tuesday congressional debate, even telling one journalist that she didn't have
the right to record him without his permission.
Yo, he's a nut.
In Mississippi, Democrat Jeffrey Hulom wants to beat back a Republican in a Republican and a
major Republican district. He'll join us as well. Pope Leo the 14th recovering from
surgery after receiving a lung cancer diagnosis. Also all of a sudden Donald Trump likes
inflation and why is Fox business completely flaming out over this awful economy?
Mmm and yo what do we see some new ads including one by Scott Cologne that is hilarious
when he smacks Cindy Hyde Smith and a woman running in Iowa gave probably
the most hilarious campaign interview this year.
It's time to bring the funk on Roland Unfiltered on the Black Star Network.
Let's go.
Folks, we're in the thick of it.
We are down last month of the election.
And what we're seeing of folks hitting the ground,
we're going to be hitting in the ground next week.
I'm going to tell you where we're going to be.
The National Coalition of Black Theory Participation and is Black Women's Roundtable
in partnership with 40 black women-led national and state-based organizations
launched the Uni-26 Power of the Sister Vote,
get out the vote and Democracy Defense National Tour.
It's a long-ass name, Melanie.
They launched it in Atlanta.
The national tour will engage black with voters across generations
in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Mississippi, Ohio,
North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina.
The goal, increase black voter participation,
strengthen grassroots organizations,
protect voting rights,
and ensure that black communities have the information and resources.
Joining us now is Melanie Campbell,
president and CEO, the National Coalition on,
black participation. Melody, that's a long damn name.
You know, the unity 26, the union 26 power of the sister vote, get out the vote and
democracy defense national tour. That got to be on a front and a back of the shirt.
I know, but we wanted to be very clear what we're doing. But thank you Roland. I just want to
thank all the organizations for coming together. What we tap again to,
while we honed in on power to sister vote this time is because we're trying to channel
the energy of black women are feeling when it comes to you know we're mad as hell but
we also know that one of the ways to fight back against the attacks that we we endured
from losing jobs and contracts and being you know overtly attacked by this regime
we knew that black women needed to come together and fight back and so that's
part of it as well. And also lift up the work that some of the organizations are doing.
We did all we could to raise money to help seed the ground. It's late, but we said it's never
too late. Okay. So there are numbers that you're looking at and obviously in those places,
you have significant black turnout. I've often talked about the need to have a micro to macro
strategy. And so how are y'all focusing in these areas and what specifically are y'all doing on the ground?
I'm going to start with Georgia. Yesterday we started in Georgia, partnering up with Georgia
coalition for the people's agenda, Georgia stand up, Black voters matter, of the sororities and faith
groups and all to come together, labor and others, to really focus in on early voting. What was really
exciting in Georgia the increase was 36% higher than 2022. So there is energy and interest
and people are showing up on that very first day. It went up 36% from 2022. So folks are tuned
in. But we also want to provide information to our communities on not just making sure your vote
gets counted, but also being able to share and spread the word because we know that there's a threat
to not only us voting, but actually having to vote counted.
So election protection, making sure that we're focused on that, but not just in Metro Atlanta,
but across the state of Georgia.
So the tour, the Get Out to Vote tour is in Athens and Rome, and Macon and other parts of Georgia
and supporting the work of each other.
So that's the other part of it so that if Georgia's standing up and doing something, we're showing up.
If black voters matter, we're showing up and sharing with each other strategies, but also
supporting each other in the work.
So we felt we're stronger together.
United, we win.
That's our focus.
That's good about panel.
Rebecca Carrella is the president's CEO of Fair Election Center joining from DC.
Member Patillo, Civil Rights Attorney, the Petitla law firm out of Atlanta, Dr. Derek Jackson,
State Representative out of Georgia.
Rebecca, you first.
Hey, Melanie, it's good to see you.
I'm glad that Fair Election Center is in that number and supporting the work.
work that's happening over the next 20 days.
How can people listening do two things?
One, join the effort, see how they could join the tour, and then two, donate.
We know what it is.
This money takes work.
This work takes money.
They can go to unity, unity campaign.org.
And they can find out the information about where we're going.
And also they can donate.
They can volunteer.
And even if it's not in a state that we have,
our coalition is made of folks that,
and I know like your organization, many, many locations.
And so we can divert people to other organizations.
If it's not in a state that we're in for this tour,
we can try to share that information
with other organizations who may have more states than ours.
Robert.
Thank you so much for all the work
that you've done throughout the years and especially now.
that we are on the forefront of this election.
Can you talk a bit about, to pick a ball on Rebecca's point,
why it's so important for people to donate to causes
and to groups such as this,
particularly when we're seeing fundraiser report
saying that the right wing is outspending progressive groups
when it comes to voter registration and voter mobilization,
in some cases, sits to one.
You know, I think Elon Musk recently said he's donating
over $125 million to some of these conservative causes.
So can we talk about the need for people that you put their money where their mouth is when it comes to supporting these organizations?
Thank you. Thank you for that question.
And we have to fund it.
Roland, you talk about it and all of it on this very, very critical platform that you have.
We have to fund our own freedom.
We can't wait for other folks, progressive or whatever we want to call it, to fund our freedom.
It has never worked.
What we have to be is more united.
What we have to be in our community is making sure that we don't, people call it the scarcity model,
where we take each other out so that I can get the money and you don't.
I'm better than you.
And that's a game that's been played on us for a number of you, as long as I can be doing this work.
Right.
So what I'm excited about over these.
You've heard the chaos.
Now you can see it.

Kill him with a gun.
Listen, it's already over.
I'm all about lying if it's something that really happened.

Do not preserve relationships.

I'm former U.S. Women's National Soccer Team player, Carly,
Lloyd. I'm Fox Sports reporter Jenny Taft. And on our new podcast, whatever it takes, we're talking
motherhood, marriages, careers, and figuring out how to balance it all. And we'll discuss the
game that brought us together because nothing is off limits. Do you remember your initial reaction
when Fox called you to be a part of the World Cup? I was like, no, I don't want to do it.
You said no? I played with players that didn't, I don't think that they really, truly love the game.
I found the love with the ball at my foot.
But in my head, it was the long game.
It was like, I don't care what I'm being asked to do at Fox.
I'm going to go get some reps, and I'm going to learn it and love it and embrace it.
He said, this group of people will never be in the same room as part of the same team ever again in your life.
And it is your job to make sure that you enjoy the moment.

You know, the best part about stuff, buts is parents have come up to me.
Thank you.
You helped my relationship with my daughter so much.
It goes a lot further than you would think.
Every time you underestimate a Yukon player comes at your own peril.
You know, when you talk about women's sports, it's like prego spaghetti sauce.
It's in there.
You know that commercial?
Like, it's in there.
You name it.
It's in there.
Want to know what's really going on in the WNBA?
We got you.

app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
This past year, especially ever since we started working, when Latasha made that call
to me and we did that, all roads leading to the side.
We have been really collaborating, sharing resources, sharing strategy, finding ways to work
more close to the other.
So season organizations, it's been around a long time to those who are new and everything
in between.
And you know, for me, that's why my names are always so long and my logos are so many,
because I try to bring all as many of us together as possible for, because we are just stronger together.
And that has been a challenge.
And a lot of times progressive folks play games with our communities around who going to get the money.
And I can remember our first move to D.C.
I was like, what's that about?
Because we weren't doing that in Georgia when I was living here full time, right?
So that part of it is what we have to do better, support our own freedom, but also challenge those who need us to move their agenda.
And so we have to call folks out a lot more of that.
You know, I spoke out, you know, didn't know if it was going to push back on me.
But when somebody asked me the question, I had to be honest.
No, we're not getting the resources that are required.
And I think more, maybe more funding is moved, but we needed to be having more funding a year ago.
This has been going on for, we know what's at stake.
But also, our communities have to fund our own freedom.
Derek
Melody, it's always great seeing you
and we're always in the same places and seeing the same faces.
So that's where my question is.
How do we get outside of our normal,
same spaces, same faces,
and reach those 1.7 million black voters, right,
that did not vote in right here in Georgia?
How do we reach them?
Because we keep going to the same places, right?
Same churches.
We use the same.
divine nine, I'm wearing my shirt, you know, represent the black vote, support the black vote.
How do we get that 1.7 million black voters who are registered, but they don't turn out?
I think that our table has to be much broader. And I think we're, I'm saying that we've been doing
more of that, right? That's why I say organizations that's new to those that have been around and
those in between. The organization that I that I shepherds is turning 50 years old.
Well, how I try to stay relevant to have being a part of the solution, not just being around
to be around, but to make sure that I'm always trying to reach out and bring and support
other organization leaders who, who have new and fresh ideas. So until freedom with Tamika Mallory,
as an example. So, you know, we have Black Votless Matter.
with what they're doing.
And so, and then we've got, you know, the faith community.
So really those who I always say like this is it,
those who want to play in the sandbox together, right,
and make sure that there is no five or six organizations
that do it all.
This existential threat requires us to utilize all those organizations.
What am I saying here?
not just traditional media, right? Like we got to make sure we're on, you know, certain networks.
This is the network to be right here if you want to get to black folks. And folks that have
influences, if you will, podcast, opening up how we communicate and where do our people go?
Young people get their information from YouTube. Bro, and I had to dust off my YouTube channel.
The organization is like, hey, we've got to change some of what we're doing.
I've been telling you all. Black men get information.
information from TikTok. Now, I personally am not there yet, but my young people are.
So if we're going to reach folks, we've got to reach them where they are, and they're
not just on these traditional ways of reaching. But some folks still go to church. Some people
still go to the barbershops. It is not either or it's both in.
Absolutely. All right then. Melody, if people want more information on the weather
tours going, where can they go?
UnityCampaign.org. And Rose, I want to find out where you're going to be because we're
still locking in some of these states.
A date. Monday, well, I can tell you right now, Monday we're going to be in Jackson, Mississippi.
We have not gotten the location yet in Jackson, Mississippi.
Okay, let's see what Carol says we do. Hold on, hold on, hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Carol says we do.
All right. Did you text in the middle of the group? Where is it? Okay, let's see here. All right. So Monday, Monday in Jackson, Mississippi.
We're going to be at the Mississippi State Conference NAACP office, 1072 West Lynch.
We'll be broadcasting the show live 5 to 7 p.m. Central, 6 to 8 p.m. Eastern.
Tuesday, on Tuesday, we're going to be in Montgomery, Alabama.
And we're going to be at Alabama State.
Let me tell you exactly where.
We're going to be in the ballroom, in the ballroom of the John Hardy Student Center.
That's going to be on Tuesday in Montgomery.
Wednesday. We're going to be in Miami Gardens. I'm waiting for the location. Thursday,
we're going to be in Riviera Beach, Florida. Friday, we're going to be in Tallahassee, Florida.
So looking forward to that. And I've got folks, they're supposed to be letting me know.
We made the following week, we may possibly be in Georgia, and then we may be in Texas that week as
well. So we're waiting to see. Let me to be real clear. Part of this issue here that these folks
have not been advertising, have not been spending money.
You know, Melanie, I got people hitting me asking me to show up.
And, you know, people in North Carolina have called.
And I keep saying, y'all, when we roll, we got six, seven people.
Hell, diesel is high as hell.
You got to fill the bus up.
And I keep telling these folks, you want us to show up.
And these campaigns are spending, you know, to collectively billions of dollars
and black on media is getting a pittance.
And Melanie, I've made it clear to some people.
No is a complete sentence.
I've had to be real clear.
So here's what I've said to a lot of these people.
And let me be real, let me just be real clear, okay?
We know who we reach.
We know who we target.
And in terms of DNC, nothing.
D-SCC, nothing.
Have I talked to them?
Yes.
D-Triple-C, but talk to them, nothing.
Democratic Gover Association, nothing.
All these other progressive PACs, nothing.
So the Congressional Black Caucus.
They've stepped up. Black Voters Matter, they've stepped up.
We also have had campaigns that want to, that have been investing.
So when you see these ads, you understand that.
Right.
But I've made it perfectly clear to these folks.
You cannot ask us to bring this show on the road,
because everybody who travels with me, they also have to get paid.
And so if they're not going to sit here and by average,
and buy advertising, where in the hell you think the money comes from?
And so I've made that perfectly clear.
And totally get that.
And so we should just connect offline and see what we can do.
Absolutely.
All right.
Well, I appreciate it.
Thanks a lot.
Thank you.
Folks, let's got to go to a break.
We come back more to talk about, including this awful economy.
And it is hilarious listening to Donald Trump and its minions,
especially these business networks.
They are apoplectic over how awful the economy.
economy is, and then they somehow think we're the crazy ones by saying how bad it is.
You're watching Rolla Mark and Unfiltered on the Black Star Network.

And so, folks, get your book.

Back at a moment.
They told Angie Nixon to sit down.
She grabbed a bull.
I'll not allow you to destroy our democracy.
They outspent her 16 to 1.
She won anyway.
They told us to get in line, but we knew better.
They didn't get the picture.
Get the hell out of here.
You don't belong in America.
So we've done.
Put it in living color.
Don't feel heard, grab a bullhorn.
Want change, grab a ballot.
Vote Angie Nixon by November 3rd.
I'm Chris Jones, and I'm running against the most powerful banker in Congress.
Day one, I'll get busy disappointing some of the most dangerous billionaires in America.
I'll vote to repeal Trump's tariffs and cut costs on goods and groceries.
in the war and bring down gas and diesel prices.
And I'll bring back the health care coverage that Fritch Hill killed
because you shouldn't have to own the bank to live in Arkansas.
I'm Chris Jones and I approve this message.
His father took the clan to court, bankrupted him,
then ran Jesse Jackson's campaign for president twice.
His mom is in the Alabama State Senate right now.
So when Shemari figures fight for our hospitals,
Our water, our housing, it's not politics.
It's in its blood.
They redrew the map to draw him and us out.
And that's exactly why we can't back down.
Shamari figures born, ready.
Vote November 3rd.
92.
That's how many polling places Tarrant County just cut before this election.
Nobody works that hard to silence you unless your voice is a threat.
Rent keeps climbing.
Care keeps slipping out of reach.
None of that is an accident.
In Harris County, Dr. Lillard.
Letitia Plummer. She spent her career caring for patients. She knows health care is a right,
not a reward. In Fort Bend, Dexter McCoy, he raised wages for county workers and won paid
parental leave. And Terrant, Elisa Simmons. When people kept dying in the county jail,
she demanded answers and a federal investigation. She never looked away. Three leaders, one fight,
justice that treats us like human beings, paychecks that cover the rent, health care that doesn't
depend on your zip code. This is the Texas
we're building with black and Latino
communities leading the way. Texas
organizing project PAC proudly endorses
Dr. Letitia Plummer, Dexter
McCoy, and Elisa Simmons.
Three judges. One fight.
Our counties, our call.
Jeffrey Osborne, hey, you've got
one vote. Use it.
Folks, this morning, Bishop William Barber was
among the No Kings Vote Early Coalition
and National Civil Rights and Voting Rights
Groups, holding a news conference in
of the Supreme Court.
They announced historic early voting actions across the country, including repairs of the breaches,
100 days of mobilization, and 1,000 marches to the polls.
Here's what the bishop said.
We are here today in the front of the Supreme Court that gutted the Voting Rights Act,
but did not gut our courage, our commitment, or our desire to not just have a vote
the largest vote in early voting, but the largest expansion of voter participation in history.
We stand together this morning to make it clear.
There was a song sung some years ago out of Kentucky that said, which side are you on, my brother?
Which side are you on?
And the refrain was, we're on the justice side.
We all are doing different work, but make no mistake.
We are all together and unified.
This battle over the ballot didn't start with Trump.
June 25th, 2013 is a day that should go down in infamy when the first attack on Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act.
I know that date because when North Carolina legislature passed the worst voter suppression in law since Jim Crow, within 45 minutes, our coalition filed suit.
And we ended up winning.
winning in the Fifth Circuit, winning.
But when we filed that suit, as my dear sister reminded us,
we didn't file it with just black plaintiffs.
We had black plaintiffs.
We had white plaintiffs.
We had Latino plaintiffs.
We had churches.
We had synagogues.
Because we were clear that an attack on voting rights,
even Section 5, creates an impoverished democracy.
And it creates a democracy where
You end up suppressing the vote, you end up engaging in what's called retrogression.
What we're seeing that they didn't just start a year ago or two years ago.
This is why we have to mobilize.
And what we're talking about doing here is not just for this election, this midterm,
we need to have this kind of effort for the next 10 elections.
This is why we want to be clear.
Yes, we are mobilizing.
The other than I made it clear to some folks the other day.
There's no competition between voters in Virginia walking to the polls on the first day of early voting.
What thousand mobilized marches being conspicuous, going through communities where people may not vote.
That's why we're marching to give people courage, to say the folk join us, but also to do the 17th and then to do beyond.
It has to take all of it.
All of it.
There's no competition between their people within the individuals.
Well, you see this dot right here. This shows in one city where they're doing 17 marches.
They've already started, but they're also going to march on the 17th. And then they're going to come back on the 19th and the 20th.
We are in a battle for civilization. And no matter what group has done anything, we all have to have a level of repentance.
Because in the last election cycle, that Congress was decided by 7,000 votes and 90 million people did not.
vote. We also must have a level we talk about affordability and we talk about
working class but we must add poor to our language. Poor and low-wage folk.
Folk that are working hard less than a living wage, 87 million of them, 30
million don't vote and the number one reason poor and low-wage people don't vote
according to a study that we did was nobody talks to them. Nobody talks to them. Nobody talks
to them. Some people don't want to use the language poor. They don't want us to use the language
working. We will not allow you to determine who we talk to or talk about or who encourage.
We have to be united. It's not a separation of Latino versus black versus white versus
women versus urban versus rule. The truth of the matter in this moment is battle for civilization.
It requires all of us. Last thing I want to say, Ezra, is that
In the 1960s, there was a plan.
In fact, this business we're dealing with is older than 2013.
And they decided, something called the Southern Strategy,
they said they would engage in positive polarization.
Deliberate splitting of black and white voters,
because this is what Dr. King said at the end of the Selma
to Mount Montgomery March, I want the media to hear us.
He said that whenever the man
of poor people have a potential to come together and reshape the economic
architecture of the nation the greedy oligarchs sold deliberate division
deliberate division he said the greatest fear of greedy oligarchs is for the
masses of and at that time he used the word Negroes but it meant black folk and
and whites and others and labor to come together and form a voting block that
can then fundamentally shift the economic architecture of the nation.
We are also voting, I believe, I get an amen here, to say to politicians,
when folk turn out, if you get elected by the folk that turn out, you must turn up.
There must be policy that reflect the voting of the people.
This is not the time if you get elected to then get in office and say,
well, we got to wait a hundred days.
We gotta wait 150 days.
The people who are hurting in this country,
who don't have health care, who are living in poverty,
who feel like they're under assault by their own government,
they're being chased and run underground,
fearing being arrested, fearing being killed,
have already waited too long.
The urgency of this vote is to say,
we cannot wait anymore.
And then finally, if you can't do the 17th,
do any day.
If you do the 17, organize even beyond.
I said that to somebody the other day because they said,
well, Reverend Bob, if we've already done a march, that's enough.
Nothing is enough.
We have to run through the tape.
Not to the tape, but through the tape.
Every effort.
Every effort.
And my dear sister said something I want to reemphasize.
One of the reasons we gather on No Kings Day on October 17th,
one of the reasons tomorrow, early voting,
marches all over North Carolina.
They already started in Virginia and other places.
It's we're saying, in Salisbury, Maryland in a few weeks,
is we're saying to people who've been harassed
by this modern day Gestapo, come get in the middle of our march.
If ICE wants to show up, let them show up
and watch us protect one another.
Let them show up and watch us nonviolently march together.
If federal, if lawyers want to show up,
come show up and watch us march.
vote like never before. The power of our conspicuous commitment, our conspicuous courage,
and our conspicuous desire to ensure a future, not just for democracy, but for civilization
itself, must be on display. On display like never before. I told the friends here, and I'll
close with this. You know, Israel's got an interesting name.
And I told him I was going to talk about it one day.
In the Bible, the name Ezra is a prophet who, who, who, when people were depressed and down,
he came along and said, it's time to bill.
And so folks said, you must be crazy.
So he went out and found out whoever would come together.
But then he did something.
Every time they did something, he led the people in a shot of joy.
When they laid the foundation, they had a joyful time and called more people to come back.
People said, but all you have is a foundation.
He said, we're not through yet.
When they laid the standing, to put the standing team up, they said, you don't have the building yet.
He said, we're not through yet, but we're going to celebrate this.
We will continue to say, we are not through yet until this is one nation, under God, indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all.
We are not through yet.
until everybody's right the vote is protected.
And not only do we have the right to vote to protect,
but election season and election day becomes a holiday.
So that everybody, we are not through yet.
Let me do this right here.
Let me give you these deadlines,

All right, folks, let me get personal for a second.
My mom had questions about her Medicare, so she called Chapter, a Medicare.
advisory company and she texts me right after saying it's a great benefit. It was easy. A real
person walked her through the whole thing and now she understands better what's going on. But also
is not just her. Woman and Yonkers rode in saying the process was so simple. The enrollment was
easy and she was so glad she called. Then there's Maryland, 90 years old, in Florida, living on social
security. Her premium climbed every single year north of $400 a month for coverage she could barely
afford anymore. So what does she do? She call Chapter. They found her the same top-tier coverage
for hundreds of dollars less, 90 years old, and finally somebody in her corner. I hear stories
like that again and again from our community. The Medicare system was not built to work for you.
Too much fine print, too many plans. Yet Chapter's advisors are independent and honest, the only
Medicare advisors that compare every plan nationwide. They're focused on one thing, what actually
works for you. If you're already in the right plan, they'll tell you. No games. People who
switched to a chapter saved an average of $11,100 a year. All takes us 20 minutes. You talk to a real
person and it's completely free. Help. So, call chapter at 724-264-864-8-281. 724-264-8-1. That's chapter.

And I won't stop until the law works for everyone.
I'm Pustin Davis. You got one vote. Use it.
All right, folks, Trump administration is pushing claims about why.
widespread non-citizen voting using flimsy evidence primarily based on half-baked list-matching
efforts. The worst part of these extreme efforts flag eligible voters who may struggle to cast their
ballots if they don't know their voting rights. Center for American Progress just published
the article, the Trump administration's flawed list matching practices could disenfranchise voters
and undermine confidence in U.S. elections. Ben Hovlin, a senior fellow at the Center for American
Progress, and former U.S. Election Assistance Commission member, co-authored article, he joined
on this right now. Ben, this is no shock. They want to shave as many votes off as possible
to make it easier to win. That's right, Roland, and thanks for having me. Yeah, again,
we're seeing an old playbook here, you know, maybe federalized, a different approach to it
with the federal government being involved, but again, an old playbook here where you see
outrageous numbers that are used to scare people, used to undermine competence in the election
process, and ultimately often used for voter suppression efforts. All right. So, you know,
Can they be stopped? Courts have been weighing in. What do we do?
Yeah, I think there's a couple good things that we've seen.
One, the courts have obviously stepped in and protected some of the lists or states that are not looking to turn over lists.
Two, you do have a fail safe with election officials.
You know, DHS has been sending these lists to states.
You know, they make these bold claims like in Nevada.
They said there were 16, you know, roughly 16,000 non-citizens on the rules.
The Secretary of State there pushed them on it.
They said, okay, there's 185.
They turned over those 185 names.
His office painstakingly investigated those, looked into those,
zero non-citizens out of that list of 185.
And so, again, it is important that we have election officials there fighting for us,
making sure to protect people's rights to vote.
DHS can't just take you off the list.
But nonetheless, you know, again, this is,
This is obviously a concerted effort to undermine confidence in the elections.
And certainly there's the potential for people to be unwittingly removed from the roles
if people are not stepping up and doing that work like we saw in Nevada.
Yeah, one of the things that we perfectly make clear to people, and I keep saying,
check your registration status, make sure I don't want people having to fill out a provisional ballot
because those don't count.
And again, be on the lookout.
These people are going to cheat.
they are going to try to have election monitors there.
I wouldn't be surprised if they try to have federal agents
at every voting location.
This is what they're going to do.
You know, one of the things that I think is so important,
you hear the make a plan to vote.
And obviously in the previous segment,
you were just rolling through, you know,
obviously people getting registered to vote
and then talking about the early voting dates
that are out there.
You know, I think obviously it's so important
that people participate at the
It's so important that people get out there and vote.
And one of the great things about having voting options is you can do it in the way that you're
most comfortable with.
And so if you have particular concerns, in my case, I've already voted.
You know, I got a mail ballot.
I took it to a drop box.
I'm already done, you know, and it's still October.
So certainly making that plan to vote, thinking about what works well for you, provides resilience
to the process and can help you make sure that your voice is heard and your vote is counted.
Questions from the panel? Robert, your first.
So on this, can you talk about a little bit about what some of these outside conservative groups are doing to attack the vote nationwide?
We've seen everything from Talking Point USA, the massive amount of the money that conservative donors and big tech are putting in.
What are some things people need to be on the lookout for when it comes to understanding the table of election misinformation we'll be seeing out there and also attention to the voter suppression we'll see?
Yeah, I mean, I think you hit on a lot of big things.
right there. The information environment, obviously there's a lot of bad information out there.
So, you know, making sure that you're getting trusted source information about how to cast
or how you can participate. Your state or local election officials are always a great source
on that. Again, because the rules and the laws vary state to state, as Roland was talking about.
And again, I think, you know, you're seeing so many efforts out there. And why are you seeing all
those things? You know, again, it's because the vote is valuable, because people's voice is valuable.
and because certainly the administration is worried about accountability if the election doesn't go their way.
Rebecca.
Ben, it's good having you on the show tonight.
So federal law says that federal law enforcement officers are not allowed at polling locations.
Despite federal law, the president is saying that he is going to deploy various law enforcement officers that are federal to polling locations.
What can I'm going to ask, what can voters do about this?
What can state and local officials do about this?
Yeah, so that's a great question.
I think you hit on a couple things there that are really important.
First, it is absolutely against the law.
There are specific laws on the books about armed federal officers at polling places,
and so that should not be happening.
You know, I think the administration has been, you know,
they've been unwilling, obviously, to just shut down that conversation.
Part of that is to instill fear or to make people nervous about participating or just to make it all feel messy and people think about sitting out.
Obviously, the best anecdote to that is participating.
I mentioned earlier, when you're thinking about your plan to vote, you know, if this is a big concern for you, you know, vote early.
Vote at a time when you think people aren't going to be there.
You know, again, with mail, I like to vote that way, but there are challenges and there are deadlines and those are fast approaching.
So if that's what your plan looks like, I would do it quick.
But again, looking into your options, knowing your options, and then voting the way that you're most comfortable is the best way to avoid those scenarios.
Derek.
Ben, thank you for the work that you all are doing.
I truly believe that, you know, when we protect the ballot box, that should be a national security priority because our vote is sacred.
And so my question to you is, you know, we got to respond in real time, right?
I mean, like right now, our state election board here in Georgia implemented this new policy
where our poll watchers and the average age of our poll watchers are mid-60s.
So they have to write our name down in their own penmanship, but they still electronically
create a digital list too.
And so my concern is what if the penmanship,
list and electronic list mismatch. You know, Kadar, 65, 70 years of age. So how do we mitigate that?
And is there a hotline where we can call lawyers to resolve this in real time?
So I think you raise, again, a number of important things there. One, there's a great hotline.
If folks needed, the 866-hour vote hotline is a great way to reach out and get help with voting if you have
concerns. Another one that I'd mentioned, it may be too late for this election, but be a poll worker.
You know, if you've got concerns about folks in the polling place, you know, again, they're
volunteering, they're out there taking a day out of their schedule, but I've done it a number
of times, and it really is an awesome experience. But certainly, certainly we could use a few
younger people out there being a part of that. You do get paid. It's not enough, but again,
certainly a rewarding experience. And then again, I think, you know, thinking about this concept
of voting early, making your plan to vote, you know, so many of the pieces that are also important
about that, you know, if you've shown up early, you know, and there is an issue that comes up,
you still have time to resolve it. I mean, you hear about, you know, election day being the last
day to vote. It's also the day where you have the least number of options. You know,
ruling mentioned provisional ballots, obviously never a first choice. That's a fail safe and a last
choice if you don't have another option. But if you go to early voting and there's an issue that
comes up, you still may have a window to be able to correct that and make sure that you can cast a ballot
that you know that will count. All right. Ben, if any resources that you want to give out folks,
where they should be checking out to protect themselves? Well, you know, again, your state
and local election official is your best source for trusted source information and accurate
information about how to vote in your community. Again, because of the decentralized nature of
elections, you know, each state runs elections a little bit differently. So check that out.
And again, the biggest thing, you know, make sure you're registered. Vote.gov can get you to
all 50 states that way. And then making that plan to vote, knowing the options in your community
and making sure you show up. All right then, Bill and Hufflin. I totally appreciate it. Thanks a lot.
Thanks for having me. Again, folks, we want you to protect yourself.
because, again, they are going to do all they can to stop you from voting.
I'm telling you, we play that video all the time of Paul Weirich from 1980, co-founder
of the Heritage Foundation and the moral majority where he literally said, we don't want everybody
voting. We don't want them voting.
All right, let's talk about Maryland, folks, where there was a debate between Republican
Congressman Andy Harris and his Democratic challenger Dan Schwartz, Dan Schwartz.
Harris lashed out at the crowd after they laughed at his comments about gas prices
following a question about the Trump-Puton diesel deal.
Why did the United States make a deal with Russia for diesel
when we have sanctions against their country?
It seems we are playing both sides.
Please explain the logic.
And we begin with Dan Schwartz.
Well, I think we know why.
It's because our president and a lot of members of the GOP
are pretty buddy-buddy with Vladimir Putin
and with dictators and authorities.
across the world. My opponent, Congressman Andy Harris, has spent more time campaigning for
his buddy, authoritarian leader Victor Orban, in Budapest Hungary on your taxpayer dollar than he has
talking to people before this event tonight in this election cycle. Making a deal with Russia to lift
sanctions on their diesel when they are actively working with Iranian forces to kill our troops
is not only wrong, it's disgusting. And it follows a pattern of this administration
pardoning criminals, pardoning people of foreigners who are doing breaking laws in our country.
It was my team of state money transmission regulators that got the CEO of the world's largest
crypto firm, CZ, who ran Binance, to agree to never do business again in this country.
We took away all of his state money transmission licenses because he was laundering money
for Hamas and ISIS, for the Sonola cartel, and for sex trafficking rings.
These guys don't care.
He went to federal prison.
Have you heard of a billionaire doing prison time? Not often. The president came out with a full
and complete pardon for Mr. CZ, invalidating the work that my team did, letting them come back
into our finance system despite the fact that they broke laws that had been in place since
9-11 in the Patriot Act to keep us all safe. I haven't heard a peep about that from my opponent.
Harris? You know, you're entitled to your opinion, but not your own set of facts. No tax
pay a dollar paid for me to go campaign for Victor Orban. I'm sorry. Oh, by the way, it's all public
record. I think there are no signs being held up, but that's okay. You're a Democrat. Do
whatever you want. Now, so, so, so let's get the facts straight. The facts are, is that diesel
is, the facts are that diesel prices have gone up. There's no question about it. Why is it
gone up? Because the Democrats, environmental regulations have not, ma'am,
I got to tell you.
They laughed at him.
Y'all, it only got worse afterwards when this fool literally goes off on a reporter
and he's incorrect with the law saying she could not record him without his permission
because in Maryland they have two-party consent.
Watch this idiot.
Sir.
You do not have my permission to record.
If you record, we will refer you to the prosecutor.
Everyone in here is reporting.
But you are not allowed to.
We are in a two-party state.
You are not allowed to report.
Why am I allowed to?
Why am I not allowed to?
Because I refuse to, I'll give you permission to do report.
If everyone else in this room.
It doesn't make it...
Can you please hold my phone?
Do you know the law?
What's your question?
Which do you respect? This is a public law.
This is a public law.
This is a public law?
I'm not.
Yeah, actually, I'm a legislator.
Yeah, I actually know the law well because we have to...
You said that you wanted the...
You said that it could have gone smoother and it could have gone better.
could have gone better what did you mean by that take her camera you're going to take her camera she
is violating the law in fact get an officer in here she's violating the law on two-party two-party
recording me and officer i thought that you're not going to respect you're not just a telephic
communication i don't know the lot this recording video and audio and video have to have two-party
approval in maryland now they may not have to have it in washington dc they have to have it in maryland
She needs my approval to request.
That's why when she did, we're in public.
That's, we're in public.
It makes no difference whatsoever.
We are in public.
We are not in a public.
Congressman, you said that you supported the First Amendment.
What does they say about that?
All right, guys.
Congressman Harris, what are you ruining all your chances to get an answer about anything?
See y'all.
Good night.
Thank her.
Thank her profusely.
Let me give you all a reminder.
Remember when Governor Westmore wanted them to do redistricting in Maryland
and the Speaker of the Senate,
in Maryland said no, it was to protect this Republican.
He's the only Republican representing in Maryland.
Okay, so this is the only one.
Now, of course, as Republicans did all the other stuff,
now that president has finally woken up,
it's going to be in the ballot.
But here's, so I've never, Rebecca, I've never heard.
Actually, I'm going to start with Robert.
Robert, you're a lawyer.
I'm going to go to Rebecca.
Robert, I've never heard a, well, I got you, but I'm saying.
Robert, I've never heard in my life.
I've never heard in my life.
a politician go, you can't record me.
I'm not going to tell your questions because I have to give you consent.
Now I'm going to give him consent.
I'm going to give her consent.
I'm not going to give you consent.
What the hell is he talking about?
This is what happens in the Trump era of media.
This is what Trump does in the White House.
This is what this generation has brought before us.
I'm sorry, before you see a politician running away from reporters.
saying, I'm not going to ask you a question. They were being rushed into a federal courthouse
to make a plea agreement of some kind. But this is the contempt that the MAGA movement
has for the fourth estate. They don't think they owe you anything. They don't think they have
to tell you anything. They think that between them and their crypto buddies and Vladimir Putin,
etc., that they'll be able to get these things done. And I remind people, the question that was
asked was a completely valid question. There was no reason for him to flip out like that.
There's no reason to have some kind of a hissy fit about it because it's very clear what President Trump did in this situation.
President Trump committed treason.
If you go by the letter of the law, if words still have meanings, President Trump committed treason, what do I mean by that?
America is currently in a armed conflict with Iran.
We're in a state of ceasefire currently, but we are still officially in a armed conflict.
Russia does not have additional gas.
Vladimir's in Lundon, announced this week, the Ukrainian.
in the past six months has knocked out at least 50% of Russia's refining capacity.
In addition to international sanctions, remember we were seizing their shadow fleet earlier this
year, they actually do not have enough gas to export.
We know this because last month they received massive influxes from North Korea of crude,
oil and gas to supplement their domestic supply because we were seeing gas rationing and
lines at gas stations in Russia.
So where exactly is this oil, diesel coming from?
that President Trump is buying from Russia.
Russia has a supply line through the Caspian Sea with Iran, which is immune to external sanctions
because we don't have the ability to actually interdict there.
A few months ago, we saw Ukraine launching drone strikes against the Iranian tankers going
between Russia and Iran and the Caspian Sea, and Iran threaded ballistic missile strike against
Kiev.
So we know that this pipeline exists.
So in sum, President Trump is buying Iranians.
oil using Russia as a proxy to bring down diesel prices that are caused by his war with Iran
is one of the dumbest and most idiotic things that you could ever see.
But in addition to that, it violates the 2002 law, which says America cannot buy oil from Russia.
Also, it violates the terms of the Lindsey Graham Sanctions Act with Donald Trump signed
into law a month ago.
So when we're looking at this, not only is it dumb, not only will it only supply a
about a half-day supply of diesel for America.
It also has no basis and long and enriches our enemy.
The same enemies that are killing US troops.
Now the estimates have been revised up
to 21 service members have been killed
by the Iranians during the course of this conflict.
They're getting satellite imagery from Russia and China.
They're saying China that Donald Trump rolled out
a red carpet for their president
that had a full military parade for a month ago.
So when we talk about providing aid
and comfort to an enemy in the time
the war, we are buying Iranian oil through the proxy of Russia.
We're buying their drones.
The Shahid drones are being used against American troops are the same as the Gron
two drones being used against Ukraine and Russia.
They're in a military-lit and lease agreement where they're doing a technology exchange.
Every pity that President Trump is spending will be used to kill Americans.
And that's not treason.
I'm not quite sure what the word even means and is not lost on anybody.
that two weeks ago, President Trump meets with big tech CEOs and says, I'm going to allow AI to regulate itself.
A week later, he talks of Vladimir Putin, says he's going to buy diesel from Russia,
and that Ukraine needs to stop attacking Russian refinery capacity.
Then Ukraine, because of what President Trump said, because he told Zelensky to resign,
attack the Yadets data center in Russia, knocking out nearly all Internet drone robot traffic from the Russians.
Right-link accounts yesterday and today are down by much as 60% because Russian bots are knocked out.
And as a result of that, Elon must cut off Starlink access to Ukraine today,
making it more difficult for them to strike Russian refineries.
These people are playing in our faces, and we don't understand what's going on geopolitically.
All right, Robert, you can take a breath now.
First of all, Rebecca, congratulations to the 10th Bay raise.
Just saying.
I could go get a broom for your Yankees, just saying.
Look, look, I'm only wearing the hat because of the color, not because of the team.
Well, you wear a Yankees hat on here.
I'm going to talk about you.
All right, so first of all, Rebecca, this is the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press.
This is on their website.
Maryland Reporter's Recording Guide, under Maryland's Wiretap Act,
it is unlawful to record any private in-person conversation
or any telephone or electronic communication
unless you are a party to the conversation
and have the permission of all the other parties.
Then it goes on to say,
in-person conversations,
the Maryland Wiretap Act permits a party
to any private in-person conversation to record
with consent of all parties to that conversation.
The consent requirement, however, only applies to a private conversation which the Maryland Court of Appeals, the state's highest court, has held only includes conversations in which parties have a reasonable expectation of privacy.
For example, where a person in the private apartment was speaking so loudly that residents of an adjoining apartment could hear without any sound enhancing device, recording without the speaker's consent did not violate.
the wiretap law. Now, we go over here to recording laws. Again, this is in Maryland as of
2006. It makes perfectly clear here, in terms of all the different distinctions that you have when it
comes to being able to record. But it also makes clear, Rebecca, that there are exceptions,
and that is in public.
Look, they were in public.
There was no reasonable expectation or privacy
when you're in a room with a lot of people.
You've heard the chaos.
Now you can see it.

Do you remember your initial reaction when Fox called you to be a part of the World Cup?
I was like, no, I don't want to do it.
You said no?
I played with players that didn't, I don't think that they really truly love the game.
I found the love with the ball at my foot.
But in my head, it was the long game.
It was like, I don't care what I'm being asked to do at Fox.
I'm going to go get some reps and I'm going to learn it and love it and embrace it.

There is no reasonable expectation.
or privacy, that anything that said in that moment in that period is going to be private.
And so what Andy Harris said is dumb.
And like to Robert's point, there's a lot of policy reasons.
He doesn't like the questions that he's being asked.
He didn't like the questions that he was being asked by his opponent.
And look, November 3rd is coming up. Early voting is starting.
You could get a melon ballot in the state of Maryland.
If you live in that district and you don't like what you've seen, then you know what?
you get to do something about it.
Well, I still can't wait for the new jerrymandered that damn seat.
Derek, it's just, Derek, it's crazy to me that he would demand two-party consent
and all the media's out there.
He was like, oh, blame her because you can't ask your questions.
That's like saying I'm going to demand two-party consent at the town hall.
I mean, it's laughable.
It's laughable, Roland.
Think about this.
And for disclosure, let me.
lean into the camera. I'm a legislator. I'm not a lawyer like my friend Robert, but I understand
the law. And I would never quote the law. Rebecca, Rebecca keeps reminding us, she's a lawyer as
well. Maybe it's a Yankee hat thrown us off. Listen, no disrespect. Rebecca, you know I got
mad love for you. And, you know, I'm a native New Yorker. But listen, but he was quoting a law
Roland and he got he got indignant he's talking to journalists so even if he did not you just did
him a master class how you articulated Maryland's law but let's just say he didn't go that far
the First Amendment Roland did he forget about the First Amendment that the media is protected
under the First Amendment and he's in the public
Here's the other point.
And I, this dude lost his cool well before that.
He lost his cool because he could not answer the question with a straight face.
Is diesel gas up?
Yes.
Why is it up?
Because a year ago it was $3.75.
Today is $6,020.
That's 65% increase, really?
But he can't, but they, listen, they can't answer the question because
they have been defending everything Donald Trump has done, and they've been lying.
That's all.
They are all liars.
And I just, listen, I record my radio commentaries today, and I say point blank that this is real simple.
If a Republican or someone from MAGA voted and supports Trump's policies that are destroyed
the economy, vote them out.
These are the people responsible.
Again, they can't, they are literally in town halls going, no, it's the Democrats.
So one person went to one of these rallies, the guy said, Biden, dog, he's gone.
Mike Collins.
Like, like, they're blaming Biden.
They're trying to blame Obama.
They're trying to blame Bill Clinton.
They're trying to go all the way back and blame Jimmy Carter.
I mean, that's where they are.
No, I'm sorry, when you control the House and the Senate and the White House, it's on you.
That's like in Texas.
It is laughable.
Why are the races in Texas so tight?
because Greg Abbott and Dan Patrick are talking about Democrats,
Republicans have controlled Texas for dead in their 30 years.
Like literally, I'm talking about legislature, governor's mansion, everything.
They won all statewide offices, Texas Railroad Commission, Ag Commissioner, Secretary of State, Attorney General.
How are you going to blame everybody else when y'all running the whole deal?
That dog won't hunt, and they are afraid of a massive blue suit.
tsunami that is coming. And what I am encouraging is a massive black tsunami to take all of them
out on every level. I'm talking about I want to see black folks vote in such a way. We wipe out
every Republican senator, every Republican member of Congress, every Republican governor,
every Republican state legislator down to the local level because they have all been
silent and complicit in watching Donald Trump destroy this country.

We'll be right back.
And I'll bring back the healthcare coverage that Fridge Hill killed
because you shouldn't have to own the bank to live in Arkansas.
I'm Chris Jones and I approve this message.
I was already a lawyer when my brother was murdered.
His killer was never brought to trial.
That loss didn't put me on this path, but it has shaped how I walk it.
As a justice, I hold criminals accountable, keep communities safe, and ensure every victim gets their day in court.
I'm Anita Earls.
As a justice, I won't stop working until the law works for everyone.
You shouldn't have to wonder who side your senator is on.
So let me make this clear.
If it's Florida's homeowners against insurance companies, I'm with the homeowners.
If it's patience against price gouging drug companies, I'm with the patients.
If it's families against corporate entities buying up our neighborhoods and driving up the rent,
I'm with the families every single time.
I'm Angie Nixon.
I approve this message because Florida, I can promise you that I'll never make you guess who side I'm on.
92.
That's how many polling places Tarrant County just cut,
before this election.
Nobody works that hard to silence you unless your voice is a threat.
Rent keeps climbing.
Care keeps slipping out of reach.
None of that is an accident.
In Harris County, Dr. Letitia Plummer.
She spent her career caring for patients.
She knows health care is a right, not a reward.
In Fort Bend, Dexter McCoy.
He raised wages for county workers and one paid parental leave.
In Terrence, Elisa Simmons.
When people kept dying in the county jail,
she demanded answers and a federal investigation.
She never looked away.
Three leaders. One fight. Justice that treats us like human beings. Paychecks that cover the rent.
Healthcare that doesn't depend on your zip code. This is the Texas we're building with black and Latino communities leading the way.
Texas Organizing Project PAC proudly endorses Dr. Latitia Plummer, Dexter McCoy, and Elisa Simmons.
Three judges. One fight. Our counties, our call.
Hey, what's up? It's Cedric D. Entertainer. You got one vote. Use it.
Folks, Black Democrat, Jeffrey Hulam, is running in a deep red seat in Mississippi.
He's running for Congress.
And, of course, he's running against Mike Ezel.
This battle is taking place like one of those.
He joins us right now.
Jeffrey, glad to have you on the show.
Again, when you look at that seat, I think I checked, it was like a plus 36 Trump congressional seat.
When I look at, I can't stand mostly in any of these prediction markets.
But many of them say he has a 99% chance of winning.
How do you beat him?
This is how we beat him, Roland.
We have over 135,000 registered African Americans in the four congressional district.
Then Mississippi on the coast, we have the largest concentration of military veterans.
Over 180,000 veterans.
So we are running to governize not just the black vote but the veteran vote.
And we put all those votes together.
That's enough votes to carry us over the top.
Because for far too long, the current congressmen have failed us on so many
different levels that people are filling at the kitchen table.
Okay, so you're talking about mobilizing them, but, but, you know, listen, when it comes to
a congressional district like this here, you're not going to get support from the D-Triple-C.
And so how's fundraising been?
And when you say, you know, targeting those veterans, what are you saying to them?
So one other, the things when they come to this race, we're running this race that costs,
meaning everything we need to be successful in this race, we have had it.
I'm funding this race mostly with small donors and my military friends and families.
Also, we have the veterans.
We're talking about the Riggest Star Act.
The veterans and things have been cut.
The most important thing that resonating with all the veterans are this unpopular conflict
over in Iran right now that got affordability through the roof.
They continue to skirt and continue to put out African-American senior leaders,
Caucasian female senior leaders, and they have eroded the more fibers of militaries as it is.
Right now, they're using this military as it is.
Right now, they're used this military as a proxy.
It's not the military that I served 22 years and since combat defending this country.
This is military that we have not seen in a long time, Role.
At then, questions from my panel.
Derek, you first.
Well, first off, Jeffrey, thank you for your service.
And thank you for stepping up running for office.
I completely understand.
When I say I understand, I did 22 years retired Navy commander.
And so my question is how you break through.
Right? Because Mississippi right now, every time we hear the word Mississippi, it's always negative.
Lanching, Nolan Wells.
And so I truly believe this is an opportunity for you to use some of these negativity that's been happening in Mississippi to propel you to victory.
How are you engaged in and making sure that that message get out there?
Because the numbers are there.
the message is there
is just we keep coming up short
on November, you know, during the election time.
And this is how we engage in public, Colonel,
because I'm going to stay legislator right now
and I have been working inside of my district
for far too long, ever since I retired to military.
Also, we do these food insecurity events every weekend
because we are the most food and secure portion
of the state of Mississippi on the Gulf Coast.
So we meet people where they're at.
We continue to go into the homes
we continue to go into the neighborhoods and the communities.
And what we do is the most important thing.
We make people feel a whole and more enabling because, yes, but in an old and well situation,
we know that's a very tragedy that should have been solved.
We got to continue to fight for that family and continue to hold people accountable.
That's one of the things that's so disheartened about being a service member to understand
that the current person who holds a seat,
to not have the decency to email us give a condolence to the family.
That's what we have to fight this fight.
all fights will not be easy.
The majority of the fights you've got to fight is a tough fight.
And this fight is a fight I'm willing to take on.
And we're going to win this fight.
The reason we're going to win this fight?
Because people see how they have been let down.
People see how they continue to be walked over and trample upon.
And people see there's a record crisis, not just in the household, but also in their mental health at this time, Colonel.
Rebecca.
Thanks so much.
Thank you for running because running is the first step in order to make change.
So you mentioned the seat that you currently hold.
How large is that seed in comparison
to the congressional district?
Well, this, all state, see,
all our state districts in Mississippi are 25,000.
I'm in the second largest city,
in the state of Mississippi, which is Gulfport.
I'm running for the lower 12 counties in Mississippi.
Most of them are semi-rural.
The epic center of our population,
centers along the Mississippi Gulf Coast,
which are three coastal counties.
And that's one of the things that a lot of people are not taking
in account.
Our numbers are through the roof right now,
but a lot of people have moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Then they cut the census short.
So they don't know how many votes are actually out there.
And we get a lot of momentum and a lot of traction by meeting the people.
Everywhere we go, we have touched every county and every city in this district,
and we're going to continue to do that.
And on November 3rd, we're going to be successful.
Because right now, we do not have early voting Mississippi,
but we have absentee voting.
And people are out voting every day right now,
right now because if votes matter, a lot of people, when you talk to us in Mississippi,
what we can't do, what we don't have, we stand to show you, but we do have what we can't
do because it's about the heart of the people and we're going to continue to fight this fight.
No fights are easy, but it's got to be fought.
Robert?
Kim, thank you so much for your service and also for putting yourself out there for public
service.
Can talk about a little bit about how important is to have someone in office who's an advocate
for veterans who actually has served, who under,
understands the needs and who understands what goes into military service.
We're seeing right now when you have a game show host as president and a talk show host
to Secretary of Defense, what that can get us into.
Talk about the importance of having people who have served making those decisions.
One of the things that we think about, especially me as a SAR major, with six combat
deployments, we know the importance of our allies.
We also know the importance of our adversaries.
And right now, the people who are running this administration, the people who support this
administration, they are rubbing shoulder with the axis of evil, which is Iran, China, Russia,
and North Korea.
How can you say you love America and you support America when you do a business with the
same people who's killing our service members, giving imagery to the people who are attacking
our service members abroad?
How can you say you love America and you stand up for veterans when you're not protecting
the veterans back on the home front?
We have so many veterans who are serving this country abroad and their families are in full
pantry lines. They're looking for rent, utility, and all kind of assistance. Those things
does not add up. America, when you support a veteran, like Richard Starr Act, making sure that
a promise made is a promise kept, when you go and rent a service this country, your benefits
is codified and forwards and fire you, not dangling by a carrot. And this administration,
the way they're treating people, the way they're scurting the laws, where they're rubber-stamping,
the Geneva Convention, the laws of all that out the window. That's how we win. We should,
show the veterans to go back to your oath, the oath that you took to protect and serve this nation against our enemies, both foreign and domestic.
You bear a true face and allegiance to the same.
All right then.
Folks, more information on your campaign.
Where did they go?
To Jeffrey Hulling the Third for Congress.
All right then.
Jeffrey, I appreciate it, man.
Good luck.
And I thank you, Roder, for having us.
Thank you.
I appreciate it, folks.
Don't forget.
We're going to be on the road next week.
and we're going to be in Jackson, Mississippi on Monday.
That's right, Jackson, Mississippi.
We're going to be at the Mississippi office of the NAACP.
Cannot wait to be there.
Let me give you all.
We'll have it all on my address on the graphic,
but let me go ahead and give that to you.
So we're going to be, again, there on Monday, on Monday.
And then, of course, we're going to be in Montgomery, Alabama,
at Alabama State on Tuesday,
and Miami Gardens on Wednesday,
Riviera Beach on Thursday,
Tallahassee, Florida on Friday.
All right, y'all, going to a quick break, we come back.
I've seen a lot of crazy stuff out here.
You know, final weeks of the campaign,
you are seeing some insane ads out there as well.
We're going to show you some of those.
Wait until I show y'all in bed.
This, oh, my God, this Canada and Iowa,
y'all, it's just too good not to show.
You're watching Rolla Martin Unfilter on the Black Star Network.

Man, let's blow this thing out to water.
I'll be back in a moment.
All right, folks, let me get personal for a second.
My mom had questions about her Medicare, so she called Chapter, a Medicare advisory company,
and she texts me right after saying it's a great benefit.
It was easy. A real person walked her through the whole thing and now she understands better what's going on.
But also is not just her.
Woman and Yonkers rode in saying the process was so simple, the enrollment was easy and she was so glad she called.
Then there's Maryland, 90 years old in Florida, living on Social Security.
Her premium climbed every single year north of $400 a month for coverage she could barely afford anymore.
So what does she do?
She called chapter.
They found her the same top-tier coverage for hundreds of dollars less, 90 years old, and finally, somebody in her corner.
I hear stories like that again and again from our community.
The Medicare system was not built to work for you.
Too much fine print, too many plans.
Yet Chapters' advisors are independent and honest, the only Medicare advisors that compare every plan nationwide.
They're focused on one thing, what actually works for you.
If you're already in the right plan, they'll tell you.
No games. People who switched with Chapter saved an average of $11,100 a year.
All takes us 20 minutes. You talk to a real person and is completely free help.
So call Chapter at 724-264-8281. 724-264-8-1. That's Chapter.
His father took the clan to court, bankrupted him, then ran Jesse Jackson's campaign for president twice.
His mom is in the Alabama State Senate right now.
So when Shamari figures fight for our hospitals, our water, our housing, it's not politics.
It's in its blood.
They redrew the map to draw him and us out.
And that's exactly why we can't back down.
Shemari figures born, ready.
Vote November 3rd.
David Jolly.
Hey, J.
Nice to see, AJ.
Nice to meet you, too.
Look, I don't want to bore you with politics because I want to tell you something.
all the places I've been, of all the opportunities I've had, I want to tell you about a single
moment that changed my life. And it was the day I graduated from college. It wasn't about the
celebration. It wasn't about the graduation. It wasn't about the piece of paper. It wasn't about
the parties. You know what is about? That day I realized I just did something that nobody can ever
take away from me. Today is an opportunity for you to visit with two incredible schools.
Today is an opportunity for you to think about a moment
that might change your life.
Consider that today.
Thank you all for giving me a few months.
Say Javier Rodriguez.
My father left Communist Cuba.
We know what it looks like
when the powerful prey on their own people.
When I stood up to corporations for screwing us,
they tried to give me hell.
I gave it right back.
I've spent my career fighting crime and corruption.
My opponent, he uses the Office of Attorney General
to enrich himself and his friends,
costing us,
money and we're sick of it.
I'm Jose Javier Rodriguez.
As Attorney General, I'll keep fighting for you.
He's basketball Hall of Famer, Nancy Lieberman,
and the Hall of Famer.
Richard Dan, MVP, and you do have a vote.
You have a vote.
Use it.
Please.
All right, campaign season is always crazy time,
and we talk about all sort of wow ads.
They show up.
Check this.
This is an ad.
There were some Republicans put together targeting
targeting Congressman Byron Donalds was running against David Jolly for Governor of Florida.
Byron Donalds has a lot of rich friends.
None of them give a damn about Florida or you.
Big insurance gave Byron over $2 million.
Your rates keep going up.
Funny how that works.
The data center guys want our land, our water, and our electricity.
Then they want you to hand them a tax break for taking it.
The Silicon Valley AI weirdos want those data centers to build
AI to take your job.
And the New York bankers and private equity
bros, they love Byron
too. You know
they are. They're all buying
the same thing. A puppet
in Tallahassee, a governor
who does what he's told,
who dances to their tune,
who owes them
big time. That's why Republicans,
independents, and everybody in between
are saying no to Byron
Donald's, because he's been bought.
and paid for
All right, so in Texas,
John Rosenthal's running for Texas Railroad Commission
against an absolute racist,
Beau Frinched, and he dropped this ad,
and let's just say, not subtle.
Agenda would wreck the miracle that we have
in producing more oil and gas than ever before.
Bo Frinch in Texas
attacked a bunch of kids who turn out
they're all American citizens.
I denounce that.
Republicans,
and independents don't want Bo French.
His agenda would wreck oil and gas.
We can do better, Texas.
Elect John Rosenthal.
All right.
So that's that one.
We've been running the Scott Cologne ad,
and I've got to say,
this is probably the best one of this season.
That's it right there.
That's it.
That's it.
Going price of beef continuing to go up.
You know, you have so many proteins to choose from.
Pick another protein?
Shit.
I'd rather pick another senator instead.
Pick another protein.
She'd have lost her damn mind.
I'd rather pick another senator.
Pick another protein.
What the...
Pick another senator instead.
Oh, yeah, we got to run that one again.
Run that back.
...go on price of beef continuing to go up.
You know, you have so many proteins to choose from.
Pick another protein?
Shit.
I'd rather pick another senator instead.
Pick another protein.
She'd have lost her damn mind.
I'd rather pick another senator.
Pick another protein.
What the...
Pick another senator instead.
My man really was channeling Isaiah Whitlock there, Robert.
Yeah, I was about to say,
it sounded like he was in the wire or something,
I think Democrats, after a few election cycles, have finally figured out to stop trying to play the two cute by half game with these magas.
You know, for a long time, you had Donald Trump basically standing there doing stand-up comedy telling your mama jokes.
And Democrats were, you know, still playing the respectability politics game.
If you watch that, John Oswald versus...
You've heard the chaos. Now you can see it.

You said no?
I played with players that didn't, I don't think that they really truly love the game.
I found the love with the ball at my foot.
But in my head, it was the long game.
It was like, I don't care what I'm being asked to do at Fox.

Mike Collins debate last night in Atlanta, you saw that Democrats, the gloves have completely come off.
John Osse, I would start with just literally talking to Mike Collins, like he was a special needs child.
And he was just giving him breadcrumbs to help him try to least articulate some sort of
policy. We saw something similar to Al Sayyad and Mike Rogers in Michigan. So when we're looking
at what Democrats are doing, they're finally able to read the room and they no longer want to,
they're no longer Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi. They're generating a new generation. They're
generating the type of talking points and the type of attention that's needed to take down this
fascist agenda. Derek? Yeah, I agree with Robert. But here's the thing, no, Roland.
the establishment, like to pick and choose that message and the candidate.
So, like, for example, I like how Angie Nixon,
everything that she's doing online or social media feed,
commercials, or things that nature, you know,
it's just as strong as John Ossoff.
Nothing against John Ossoff, but I like to, you know,
make sure that we are promoting us, too.
Well, hold on, hold on, hold, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
First, Angie Nixon has not, oh, no, no, hold up.
Angie Nixon has not debated Ashley Mootin.
Ashley Moody.
Robert was talking about the debate.
So we're mixing things up here.
First of all, I'm running spots that have been produced.
Robert invoked the debate where Osoft was going after Collins on stage.
You're talking about something different.
And so what Angie is doing, yes, what she's doing is being counterintuitive,
being a lot more direct with her social media game because she hasn't had a debate.
She hasn't stood across from Moody.
And Moody is not going to debate her like Donald's is not going to debate Jolly.
Yeah, no, no, I appreciate that.
But the point I was about to make is that if you look at Judge Penny, her debate,
she prosecuted her opponent.
Tanya Miller prosecuted her opponent.
And so I'm just saying that we need to make sure
when we're talking about these debates
and the performance,
those candidates that's typically not considered mainstream
and the establishment.
What are you talking about?
Derek, Derek, we've had Penny on the show.
We've had Tanya on the show.
So, I mean, I'm saying, just say it.
Don't say like what we need to do.
Just say, the point is, listen, it's all a part of the same thing.
So at the end of the day, whether we're talking about what the black candidates are doing or the other candidates are doing, it's all the same.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
No, no, Roland, I'm with you.
I'm not disagreeing with Robert or your point, neither.
I'm just talking about when, in terms of promoting black women, let me say it that way.
We've had black women.
I know, Roela.
So I'm so, no, no, but you're making it sound like only show.
It's not being done.
So I don't care what the other white shows do.
I know what we do.
You're right, right.
Right.
Right.
No, you're the only show that's doing all of them.
So yeah.
So I'm like, no, we, we can, that was the point I was about to make MS now and CNN.
I don't give a shit.
I don't give a shit about them.
They're all processed, okay?
They're not, they're not, they're not, they're not, they're not, they'll even cover
elections the way you should cover them.
but they get all the damn money.
And so I don't give a shit what they do.
It doesn't matter to me.
At the end of the day, Rebecca,
I want every single person running under the banner of MAGA
to be crushed at the ballot box.
You know what's really interesting about watching this election cycle
and using Angie Nixon as an example.
When you go to her website and you see the type of merch that she has,
it isn't just merch for the sake of so people can have T-shirts and whatnot,
but she actually has her policy platform on her.
t-shirts. Like there's a t-shirt that lists, I think, about 10 different policy, 10 policy goals
that she has. So it's merch that is actually using a bit of pop culture, because when you look at some of the
style of the the stallings of her merch, but also it's informative to voters. And so what I find
really interesting, and this is why I'm loving these candidates this year, is they know that they ought to be getting
support from the national party to from their national party. They know that they are not getting
the level of support that they ought to get, but they are still being creative and figuring out
ways to break through understanding that voters, this year as voters are going to the polls, they're not
voting because they support the National Democratic Party. That's not what's happening. And the
National Democratic Party needs to understand that. They're voting in spite of the National Democratic Party.
They're voting in opposition to some of the things that they are experiencing, some of the things that they're seeing from the Republican Party this year.
Voter sentiment is really interesting, and the Democratic Party must not confuse that and think that they're supporting them.
But I'm seeing voters supporting candidates.
And so the candidates that you're highlighting, they're breaking through, they're being extremely creative because they're on the ground talking to people.
So it's, you know, looking at some of these early voting numbers,
I've been tracking some of the early voting numbers in Georgia as an example and just seeing
even some of the early voting, even some of the vote by mail numbers from states that haven't
started early voting in person.
It's going to be really interesting, Roland.
And to be honest, the National Democratic Party is starting the show that is irrelevant when it
comes to targeting and mobilizing and moving voters.
because voters are checked out from them
because the National Party isn't being responsive
to what voters are looking for during this midterms.
Here's the thing that I,
and anybody who watches this show,
I've been saying this for the last 18 months.
All of these national shows have been getting this wrong.
Every time that dude on CNN is doing the Democrats,
their approval rating is at 21%.
And I've been sitting there going, but if you pay attention to the ground and you look at the special elections that have been going on, Democrats been cleaning the clocks of Republicans.
So every time I hear one of these radio hosts or one of these television hosts going on and on and on talking about Schumer and Jeffries, let me be real clear.
The only people who are talking about Schumer and Jeffries are in D.C. and New York.
I mean, I was on the phone with somebody yesterday, and the person said to me, Schumer and Jeffries, where are they?
They've been missing.
I was like, stay exactly where they are.
I said, because the right, this is the deal.
Senate races are about that state.
So I got these idiot Democrats who are mad because the, Annie Andrews in South Carolina, how she answered a trans question.
And other people like, are y'all not aware she's running in South Carolina?
See, folks need to understand.
Bernie Sanders and AOC cannot campaign everywhere.
They can't because their politics doesn't fly in all places.
And so the reality is you are seeing different reactions.
What you are seeing are candidates who are running smart.
And that is, I am running a race tailored to my state or tailored to my state.
or tailored to my congressional district.
I saw, the matter of fact, I was just sitting here,
I almost pulled it, give me one second.
When you talk about running,
so there's a Republican,
there's a Republican in,
there's Republican in North Carolina.
And he is facing,
you know, he is
facing
he's facing a Republican.
I'm going to pull up his commercial,
and he served in the military,
North Carolina, huge military population.
Here's a candidate, oh my goodness,
I almost had it.
I'm going to pull in a second.
It's a candidate in Wisconsin
who's running for Paul Ryan's O.C.
Again, how he runs is different.
This is how you're supposed to run.
You run campaigns that are tailored
to your district.
And this is where you tell the national consultants,
shut the hell up, you don't know my district,
you don't know my state,
this is how we run here.
That's how you actually win.
And these people are local.
Yeah, I mean, it's just, I mean, I'm telling you.
But it kills me so many of these people
who don't understand that.
This is the ad, Richard O'Heda in North Carolina.
Hello, Jenna.
I served 24 years in the,
United States military and deployed to places like Iraq and Afghanistan.
For me, it's about America, not politics.
But this place is a corrupt mess.
And the biggest recipient of big pharmaceutical dollars is none other than my opponent,
Richard Hudson, who then voted to jack up your drug costs and double your health care premium.
Richard Hudson and his friends will not take on the drug companies, but I will.
And I approve this message because we must end corruption here to make things cheaper here.
Again, that's an ad that he understands his target audience.
Strong military base there in North Carolina.
And his imagery is saying with the boots, with the airborne shirt, hey, don't try to sit me and don't you try to play me as being some, how they try, how J.D. Vance, this whole testosterone debate.
I mean, you got Vivek Ramoswame who couldn't even lift up a kid with his little weakly weakly ass.
And so that's been the whole deal.
You have to run your campaign because you know what, Robert, if you lose, the consultants are going to go to the next campaign and get paid and you're stuck with the loss.
You know, this is the biggest issue.
I think any of us who have had running campaigns in black districts, particularly black districts in the South, that you get your candidate all the way through the primary.
You guys have momentum.
And now the national party says we'll come in and we will help you out.
But these are the things you're going to have to run on.
And these are the national issues.
And the issues that play well in San Francisco, in New York, in L.A., in D.C.,
don't mean a damn thing in other parts of the country.
I remember I was working on a race back in the 2004 election cycle.
And they wanted us to campaign in Brunswick and Savannah, Georgia, on climate change.
And I tried to explain to them, don't know why Savannah, Georgia good day about climate change in 2004,
but they don't want to hear that.
And this is why it's crucial, as we break free of the two-party states,
I think the two-party system, as you see, is in its final days.
Mitt Romney and Donald Trump don't belong in the same party.
Bernie Sanders and Joe Manchin don't belong in the same party.
But as we see these growing pains of the two-party system slowly dissolves, we're seeing
more people take more independence and simply saying, this is what my people believe in.
I'm elected to represent my constituents, not to represent a political party.
Well, hell, Rebecca, you got the you got the head of South Dakota Democratic Party who
resigned to support the independent candidate because they're like, yo, this is our best shot at taking it from the Republicans.
Or in my home state of Nebraska.
Same thing.
In my home state of Nebraska, the independent, I believe Dan Osborne is running.
He is active in the labor movement.
He is an active union member.
He has organized different parts of Nebraska.
And so you saw where you had the Democratic Senate candidate drop out.
And you see that, wow, yes, I don't believe the Nebraska Democratic Party is formally endorsing Osborne,
but you're seeing a lot of the Democratic elected officials across the state endorse and support Osborne.
So here's the thing. We understand that all politics is local. It has to be. That's what it is. And it should be.
Because after all, politicians are supposed to represent their communities, their community of interest.
They're not supposed to represent a national party. But what's going to happen,
after the midterms is over is the Democratic Party is going to have to really figure out
what it looks like going into 2028.
Because as weak as the Democratic Party and the national brand appears to be now, as soon
as November 3rd is over, then we immediately pivot to the presidential election cycle.
So what's going to happen is whoever the candidates
are on the Democratic side, they're going to have to run based upon their personality,
based upon who they are.
They're not going to be able to just be able to run under the banner of the Democratic
Party.
And so once again, the Democratic Party nationally, they're going to go through another
tough fundraising cycle because all of that money is going to be diverted to the presidential
candidates.
And so the Democratic Party is going to have to spend a lot of time during soul searching
to understand how it moves forward.
And what's simply amazing is that.
that this is the way we're still in the end.
We're still at the height of the MAGA movement.
And for the national Democratic party to not have a clear, concise answer against MAGA during this time.
When you have so many people becoming nonpartisans and independents because they are no longer Republicans,
or because they are, actual real moderates, don't want to go towards Republican Party because how outright,
racist it is right now and how it's bad on foreign affairs, how it's bad in the economy,
all of the bread and butter issues that the Republican Party was known to be strong done.
And then you look at the opposition party.
And you see the opposition party isn't showing clear, concise answers.
So it's going to be really interesting once we get past the midterms and we pivot.
First of all right, I disagree.
Here's what I mean.
We spent nine months, 2025, what you just described.
what happened in 2025, they couldn't figure out what to do.
And then shutdown happened.
And what you saw, what you saw were Democrats finally getting their footing in terms of the shutdown.
The so-called Big Beautiful Bill and all of that.
Okay.
You saw that happening.
You then begin to see, and here's what happened.
When the shutdown happened in D.C., you then begin to, you begin to see.
see candidates across the country who then began to also take what was happening here and apply it locally.
That shutdown is really what then began to draw the affordability conversation.
Because what happened was Democrats, they were still dealing with Gaza, Israel,
but there was no longer becoming dominant.
Elon Musk, Doge, all those things were happening.
Your donors were like, oh my God, I'm not seeing this.
See, this is what, the problem that I have with how we perceive this,
there's this notion of this one message.
I do believe Democrats have figured out how to fight MAGA, based upon their votes,
based on what they stand for.
For instance, watch this ad right here.
In rural Wisconsin, hunting and fishing.
For us, it's a way of life, not just a hobby.
Brian Stiles says he wants Wisconsin to be a great place for data centers.
So that's why they've given them nearly $300,000.
So where they get in return, $70 billion in special tax breaks.
They use our water and our power, take our land, we get the bill.
Oh!
I'm Mitchell Berman, and I approve this message because,
Wisconsin isn't for sale. Now moments ago I was looking at in this graph and someone posted on
and they said wow Democrats are flipping Republicans to their side over data centers.
That is a hot touch point and I remember here in Virginia a lot of people early this year
were rip criticizing uh criticizing uh of course um uh uh of course um uh uh uh
Louise, Louise Lucas, Sarah Louise Lucas, because she was artly opposed to data centers.
She was on the money because what we're now seeing, we're seeing rural folks, white conservative folks.
We are seeing this anger.
Now, if you're a Democrat and you're championing data centers, baby, you're going to have some problems.
I just think that I'm going to Derek here.
my point is you cannot look to the DNC or dims the leadership in the House and the Senate
because what that does is and I'm going to go back to what Ella Baker where she and Dr. King clashed.
Dr. King believed in pulpit to Pew.
Ella Baker believed in Pew to Popet.
If Democrats win the House in November, what's going to happen is the Pew is going to drive the pulpit.
And again, I don't know who they're going to elect, obviously, but Congressman Hakeem Jeffries wants to be Speaker of the House.
That ain't guaranteed he's going to be Speaker of the House.
And so you're going to see the Pew make demands of the pulpit in terms of how you lead.
and I don't believe Chuck Schumer is safe on the Senate side
because the Pew, which is the grassroots, the ground,
are going to be demanding a different type of leadership in 27
to lead into 2028.
Derek?
So rolling, data centers is, they've been around for a long time.
The reason why data centers is an issue is not because of the data center itself.
Hear me out for a second.
It's imminent domain.
And so the infrastructure and the membrane to support a data center is now having local government and state government exercising eminent domain.
No, I don't.
Derek, I disagree.
It's not just inmate domain.
It's, hold up, Derek.
It's multiple things.
It's sound.
It's the size.
It's water.
It's also tax breaks and not getting things back.
So it's multiple things that are dry.
So in different parts of the country, it could be, it could be in the domain here.
It could be water usage here.
It could be electric rates here.
It could be size here.
It can be sound here.
But the two words, and this is perfect for, again,
to opposition.
It's just two words or four words.
I hate data centers.
The campaign is so easy,
so it don't matter where you come at it.
Your whole deal is I oppose data centers.
It is a powerful, powerful,
mobilizing and organizing thing.
And so if you're the,
and my Republican candidates,
as that ad said,
they down with data centers,
and it's causing them a problem.
Go ahead.
Rowland, I mean, listen, you are doing speed data tonight, my dear brother.
You're getting from A to Z.
Well, you got to get to the point.
You got to unpack it quickly.
I know.
All right.
So in my district, Roland, I have the largest data center in the United States.
I had the largest data center in the United States in my district.
It went up a few years ago.
And so my constituents came out because when the eminent domain piece and these 200-foot antennas were in their yard to now they can hear the humming.
So everything was fine until they put up that membrane.
And Georgia Power had to cut some serious checks, hundreds of thousands of dollars.
So yes, health concerns, noise, electricity.
electricity, utilities costs, water consumption.
So all those things you're talking about.
But the public did not come out until after the data center was built,
and they're saying, we now got to put this membrane in the residential area.
That's point number one.
The final point is this, because you're right, Roland, but the incentives,
$2.5 billion, that's what this Republican governor gave to data centers, $2.5 billion.
And so that all came out after the conversation when folks realized this oversized million square foot building called a data center, the largest city of the United States.
It didn't become not in my backyard until that membrane was built.
Yeah.
I mean, look, these things, Robert, what is happening is right here.
Here's a Republican who was running in Virginia where this is a huge issue.
Listen to what he says.
Data centers.
Tenth district.
Yes or not?
We definitely need data centers.
Everybody here have a phone with them.
I don't sound is holding by.
If you're using a phone, you're pro-data center when you know it or not.
So again, I like cleverification.
Julie's a hard or no.
You're a soft yes.
I'm a soft yes.
Soft yes, Robert.
That's going to be potent at the ballot box.
And look, brother, I feel sorry for some of these elected officials because what happened was about two or three years ago before this was a big issue.
A lot of you folks sold out to the data centers in the 2024 and some even the 2020 election cycle.
We had crypto data centers, NFTs, just writing huge checks to political action committees.
And these elected officials bless their hearts.
Ain't all the hell these things were.
And they said, look, free money.
I'm corrupt.
I'll take it.
And now they find themselves on the other.
of an issue, which has become a hot but an issue.
It's a bigger thing than just the environmental issue,
just the water issue, just the electricity issue,
you have to start asking yourself,
why exactly do we need a hard drive the size of a city
outside of every town?
How much information are these people taking in on us?
Why do I have to do a face scan in order to rent a house now?
Why do I need a fingerprint scan in order to open my phone?
Why does it they have a map of everywhere I've been to in the last 10 years?
When they're taking this much data, he combined that with the issues of flock cameras.
He combined that with the issues of AI.
This is not just a backlash against data centers.
This is a backlash against the beginning of the Terminator movie,
where it seems that these big tech oligarchs now have complete control of the American economy
at our entire society.
As I mentioned earlier, President Trump, when people complained about data centers,
had the big tech CEOs at the White House and said,
I will not be regulating them at all.
So we are in a position now where you have many politicians who have sold out, they sold their souls.
They can't say anything about the flock cameras.
They can't say anything about the data centers.
They can't say anything about the AI takeover, crypto, et cetera, because they're already corrupted.
And the people are now in a position where we have to throw them out because they don't have the freedom or independence.
You actually vote for what they believe in.
They can only vote for what they sold their soul for.
I believe, Rebecca, I believe.
that if you see, Republicans of a very narrow majority,
if Democrats, you've heard the chaos.
Now you can see it.

You said no?
I played with players that didn't, I don't think that they really, truly love the game.
I found the love with the ball at my foot.
But in my head, it was the long game.
It was like, I don't care what I'm being asked to do at Fox.
I'm going to go get some reps, and I'm going to learn it and love it and embrace it.

Cress get control of the house. And let's say, I'm not talking 218. Let's say it's 225. Let's say it's
230. Let's say it's 232, 235, and it very well could be. Frankly, what the Democratic Party
needs, the Democratic Party actually needs its own Freedom Caucus. The Democratic Party needs
20 or 30 members who are going to challenge leadership. The Democratic Party needs that grassroots
response to say, no, we're not going to play business as usual. Now, let me be very clear.
Democratic Party and the Republican Party are two different animals, and that is the Republican
Party is it's very easy to be a Republican, okay? They don't have to worry about any moderates.
They don't exist. They have no liberal Republicans. They don't exist. You either can you right
or hard right, okay? Now, Democrats, they're different, okay? You got moderates,
You got center right.
You got center left.
You got progressives, liberals, far left.
I mean, you have a much larger tent on the Democratic side.
But you do need the numbers on the Democratic side where if you've got 20 or 25 or 30 folks
and you're going to need their votes to pass bills, they can actually force some real change
than what you're seeing from the leadership.
and I think what we are seeing on the ground,
and that this tsunami actually comes about.
And even if I would go to the Senate,
before I came on the show,
I was talking to your brother who's asking me
about the United States Senate.
I said, listen, right now, 53-47 Republicans.
Democrats need to hold the seat in Michigan
and hold the seat in Georgia.
Okay, they're going to pick up North Carolina.
So now you have 5248 Republican.
Now all of a sudden, you now start looking at, all right, Alaska, Iowa, Maine, Ohio.
Those four places right there, all right, crypto is pouring money into Ohio to beat Sherrod Brown over John Hustead.
And I keep saying the Sherrod Brown's campaign.
If Sherrod Brown's campaign had taken black folks seriously and made an investment earlier,
and frankly, he got, he had a black problem.
in 2004, so I don't know how he'd think of black problem in 2006.
I think he would be up even bigger in Ohio had they put some money in.
And so other interests are putting money in Ohio for black folks, but the shared Brown campaign
and his white consultants are too stupid to actually do it.
Okay, but let's say they win Ohio.
Now you're at, okay, you're going to pick up North Carolina, 5247.
Let's say Brown wins in Ohio, 5149.
Now all of a sudden, Alaska, Iowa, Maine comes in a play.
Now, let me throw in Florida, Texas, long shots, going to be real hard possibilities.
Long, long shot, Scott Colomond, Memphis and Mississippi, running a hell of a race.
But let's just, let's just say, again, out of those six seats, Democrats pick up four out of the six.
Now all of a sudden, it's 53 Dems, 47 Republicans, and you already know John Federman is damn near a Republican, so we know how he's.
going to vote, that's going to be 52 Democratic votes. Same thing. I don't think. If you're those
senators and you get elected, I don't think you support Schumer because I'm telling you right now,
I don't believe for a second that Schumer has the fight in him that he needs to have. And he is not
what people looking for. And I just believe, and this is why I also don't believe Kamala Harris
is going to run for president. It's because what Democratic voters are going to be saying is
after two terms of Trump,
they're going to be looking for a different type of leader.
So they're going to want a different type of leader in the House,
in the Senate, at the DNC, the candidates are running.
So you're going to see a real battle over the next year or two
in the Democratic Party, Rebecca.
So I made no secret.
My personal politics align more with the Ella Bakers of the world.
My personal politics align more with Jesse Jackson.
especially as 88 run.
And during that 88 run, during that 88 DNC,
Chuck Schumer stood up and he talked about how he was
the anti-Jesse Jackson and that Democrats shouldn't be run
by those Jesse Jackson types.
He was talking about a lot of Jesse Jackson's policies
where Jesse Jackson supported Medicare for all.
Jesse Jackson supported a lot of progressive politics.
He supported making sure
that housing affordability was a thing.
He supported fair wages.
He really supported the people.
He supported making sure that we actually invested
in adequate healthcare and research.
He supported doing more and also even calling out the AIDS epidemic.
The reason why I raised this is that we saw that the DLC,
we saw the corporatists, the centralists in the Democratic Party,
end up winning and beating out Jesse's wing
of the party. And so just as much as you're talking about Chuck Schumer, we also have to acknowledge
that Hakeem Jeffries is not a progressive. He's more aligned with Chuck Schumer than that 88
Jesse Jackson. And so even when it comes time, if the Democrats do win back the house and it comes
time to seek a speaker, just understand that if it's Hakeem Jeffries, it's not going to be progressive.
He doesn't support Medicare for all. Well, we know the majority of this country supports
health care at that level because how unaffordable premiums I've gotten when we've seen the MAGA
movement destroy and attempt to destroy the rest of the Affordable Care Act.
So the other day on your show, you talked about not to supporting black folks because they're
black, but supporting black policy agenda.
We also have to understand that what Democrats are going to face if they win the House back,
that there has to be leaders that are put forth.
actually have a black agenda.
And just because they're black, like Hakeem Jeffries,
doesn't mean that it's a black agenda.
Absolutely.
So it is going to be, I'm telling you, listen,
if you are Democratic leaders, man, y'all better buckle up
because the voters are going to be sent.
I believe that Democratic voters are going to send a serious message.
I know Republicans are feeling good about Florida.
I'm telling you right now, I believe Florida is going to be very close.
It's going to be tough for Angie Nixon to win, but she is doing stuff on the ground.
She beat Vindman.
I'll raise her at 16 to 1, and I'm telling y'all, listen, if that black tsunami comes through,
and I'm telling y'all, again, and this is why I want y'all to invest in black folks,
because, see, when we invest in black organizations and you're not waiting on a candidate or a party,
Now, we understand when it comes to running as Republican and Democrat.
But the bottom line is this here.
If we are investing in our people on the ground, I'm telling y'all, if you look at Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, even Arkansas, that congressional race of Chris Jones, you talk about that Justin Pearson.
I need Memphis. Memphis, y'all, listen, 85% of all eligible black people voted for Harold Washington and.
In 1983, he became the first black mayor.
Memphis, y'all need to punish Governor Bill Lee.
Punish the Republicans for what they did to the congressional district in Memphis.
And there should be a massive black turnout for Justin Pearson to bury that Republican running against them who said he didn't give a damn about Memphis.
And so that needs to happen.
Before we go, y'all saw this here.
And my Lord, this was just too good not to play.
was Iowa this woman is running for the Fayette County Council District 4 in Indiana y'all
they had a live canons form last week and Lord this is just manner from heaven and that's what
I have to say about that okay and our last question of the night is if elected what is one
decision that you expect to make that may be unpopular with some voters but you believe ultimately
would be in the best interest of Fayette County I wouldn't raise your town
X's. What is the one decision that I would make?
Hmm. Repeat that again.
What is the one decision that I would make
that might not be popular for fake gun?
Right, that may be unpopular with some voters.
But is in the best interest of the county.
Mm.
All Republicans.
I wouldn't let them, I mean,
I don't even talk to them.
I don't like them.
I mean, they voted against our own state representative
voted against,
to her own party.
I mean, what do you want me to say?
I don't like being around them.
I mean, y'all did this to us.
You all voted for us.
You made this happen, this ice coming into our communities,
stealing people's jobs.
I mean, I've been threatened so many times to my face
by MAGA, we'll call them,
because there's Republicans actually get it.
You know?
There are good Republicans out there.
They didn't understand these maggots.
Who are just racist and aren't very intelligent at all?
They call you names.
They, I, my, you know, sheriff's nephew,
trying to blow my head off.
But, you know, what are you gonna do?
Well, that brings us to your opportunity to say just a few last words
to the voters.
Hmm.
We have guns to.
All right.
The first minute of the debate of this.
That I want to go to you, Jamie.
How are you today?
I'm good.
How are you?
Good.
Would you like to share with us a little bit about yourself and read your opening statement?
Okay, I didn't write one.
So I'm just going to not read it, just say it out vowel.
Perfect.
For my heart, okay.
My name is Jimmy West.
I'm a mother of three.
They're all grown children.
They're all pretty successful.
I'm proud of them.
I own a cleaning business called Queen Bee's Cleaning LLC because I am an environmentalist.
I do, that's why I named it that.
And I am a gig worker.
I deliver a lot of groceries and packages for my community.
So if you trust me, you know, delivering your groceries, you should trust me with your vote.
You know?
You know?
I'm going on.
But I'm here because I'm here because I'm
I have been going to the State House for years fighting this legislation that goes
through Senate Bill 1 Dale Strong mentioned that and how much it hurts our
communities it doubled so many people's property taxes only about one or
two percent of all of your Hoosiers benefited from it and it harmed our
communities our rural communities especially our schools
And our, I love the schools, I'm total supporter of the schools and the teachers, but our emergency services are the ones that we really need to worry about.
And I spoke to the Connersville Chief of Police, or I'm sorry, fireman, the fire chief today, Scott Jones.
And he is also very worried about what will happen to the fire stations.
I might need to get a clean X out, man.
It makes me sad what the Republicans in the statehouse have done to our rural communities.
And he told me that if we don't do something different,
which means, to me it means,
voting for Democrats that we will lose one of our firehouses. He doesn't know which one yet by
2029. We're going to lose it. Are you okay with that? I'm not. And Kay Payton, who is just here,
she was at a town hall meeting with her and lieutenant governor Beckworth and she
groveled to him for emergency service money and
And he looked at her and he's like, oh, I'll look into it.
And two minutes later said, we don't have enough money for your emergency services.
But we have enough money to do the redistricting, which we fought in one.
And, you know, so I've been fighting at the stay house for years for our community on my own dime.
Yo, folks will talk about James, listen, I'm telling you all right now.
uh, uh,
Carol, all y'all control.
Write this damn race down.
I'm checking November 3rd to see if Jamie Wiss win.
I mean,
Rebecca, they were like saying, oh,
that she's drunk.
She had something.
I mean, she killed.
We got guns too.
Look, she said that, um, we got guns too.
And Robert, you'll be proud of me.
I went to the range.
Oh, you know Robert was like, hell yeah.
You know Robert was hyped.
Look, I found a black old.
I found a black-owned company that trains, especially black people in gun safety.
So Robert, thank you so much for encouraging black folks to understand that the First Amendment is not the only amendment.
Look, this lady, I can't wait to see whether or not she's going to win come election night.
And this is what she said.
She said, if you trust her to deliver your food and your packages, then you ought to trust her to be an office of represent you.
Rob, I know you got a gun someone around you right now.
That don't ain't shocked me.
So I know you just love what Jamie had to say.
I know you got, I know the Flamethroy got a gun at his feet right now.
Look, Roland, there's a thing.
We have a rule in the South, the outcast rule.
Andre 3,000 bombs over bad act said,
don't pull the thing out unless you plan the bang.
So that's a new leaf I'm pulling, turning over for the new year.
Is there a case somewhere in this room?
Absolutely.
But that doesn't matter.
But look, one of the thing I think people also need to keep in mind, since we brought the subject up, this week the ATF changed the NFT, that's the National Firearms Act, to loosen federal regulations on firearm accessories.
If you're a Second Amendment advocate, this is great.
If not, you might want to look into this.
There are 15 states to still have these laws on the books, but now silencers are completely legal federally.
Assault of shotguns, short-barrel rifle.
vertical grips on your firearms, manufacturing your own
serial rifles at home.
So if you're an enthusiast, find out if your state laws apply.
If not, you might want to watch out what people have under the coats
because the, no, Wild Wild Wild West.
So might want to take a look for that.
Well, as Rebecca was talking, I went ahead and saw this on Twitter.
So this is here for Rebecca right here.
Uh-huh.
Uh-huh.
Uh, Derek, boy, just, you know,
Oh, boy, Jamie was on fire that, Derek.
Yeah, listen, Roland, you know, it's something where an individual that's running for office
to say flat out, I have a gun to.
Listen, I'm a Second Amendment Democrat, right?
I'm a retired neighbor officer.
Why wouldn't I have a gun as well?
But here's the point.
We're at this point in our society that our citizens,
citizens are so afraid to leave their homes, Roland, to go to the grocery store.
They had the cameras out today at a polling precinct, and people were like, hey, you can just say my first name, but don't say my last name.
And so the person's like, well, you know, is everything all right?
And the guy said, if this dude in the White House sent the federal law enforcement to a duly elected sister, Representative Omar,
He so people are afraid.
So that's the reason why you seeing folks like Rebecca saying, hey, Robert, hey y'all.
I went to a gun range, right?
I mean, come on, Roland.
I mean, I get it for self-defense.
I get it for personal safety.
But she says she was threatened.
This woman was, she's threatened.
Right.
And so it's just sad that we're here we are in our society that a person running for office was
threatened.
Yeah, well.
I mean, that's why a lot of people are reconsider.
People are considering running the office.
So Carol said, apparently she's running unopposed, so she's going to win.
Hey, Senator Chris Murphy, who went down to, he went down to Florida, stay on Angie Nixon.
I love this interview.
This is what Angie asked to sit on CNN, y'all.
Come on, God.
Turn the audio up.
We are spreading, like, a lot of disinformation and lies on commercials about me, saying things, like, I want to abolish prisons,
and I want to defund the police, why would I want to do that when I want her locked up and punished
in jail for what she has done? And so, you know, we are going to continue to stump on this
campaign trail all across the state from the panhandle to the keys, and we're looking forward to them
calling me Senator on November 3rd. You want your Republican opponent locked up?
You know, she, yeah, basically, yes, because of what she did. Yes, I absolutely would want that to happen.
Yes. Do you have...
I've been perfectly clear.
I've been perfectly clear.
Now, she was campaigned.
She was campaigning with Joanne Reed.
Give me one second, y'all.
And somebody asked this question right here.
Hold on one second.
I thought this was hilarious.
Give me one second.
I'm going to set this thing up.
All right, here we go.
All right, now it gets a little bit tougher.
Five words that best describe your opponent.
Oh, ho.
Lying.
She and I'm in church.
I can't say the other one.
What's the other one, Michelle?
I said it got harder, not easier.
I'm just saying, hey, do what you got to do.
All right, y'all, that is it for us.
Let me thank Derek.
Let me thank the flamethrower, Robert Patillo.
Let me thank the, let's congratulate the Tampa Bay Rays
for sweeping the New York Yankees.
Rebecca Havelin there to wear that.
Rebecca, you know, you know you can get a damn hat that color
without the Yankees logo.
It's the only hat I had in my house that was this color.
Duh.
So I had to pick what I needed.
That's that bullshit right there.
I'm telling you right now.
I'm just telling you right now.
If you come on this show with a Longhorn hat,
which is similar to that color,
your ass will not be on the show that day.
I don't know.
I would never do.
that I'm from Nebraska.
And as a lifelong courthusker, I can never wear a U-THA.
I'm just saying, you're talking about the damn colors.
I'm just saying, all right, all right.
We appreciate it, folks.
That is it for us.
Let me remind y'all, we are hitting the road.
We are going to be in Mississippi, Jackson, Mississippi.
First of all, hold up before we even go there.
My goodness, let me go ahead and do this here.
I'm hitting the road actually even earlier than that.
I am going to be, so let me get y'all a sense where I am going to be this weekend.
So beginning Saturday, Saturday, y'all can give me one second.
Let me find it.
If y'all are in Indianapolis, Indianapolis, I'm going to see y'all on Saturday.
That's right, on Saturday.
You know, the Stewart brothers, speakers, they have their, okay, got it.
going to be, first of all, that's, it can't see that. So I'm going to be in Indianapolis on Saturday
at the Madam C.J. Walker Theater. Two panel conversations taking place, two panel conversations.
So let me zoom in right here. So Stewart Speaker Series, you see it right here. I'll come on my iPad.
10 a.m. 430, Madam C. Madam Walker Legacy Center, 617 Indiana Avenue, a day of critical
conversation, civic engagement, and action. So we're going to be there. That's a

I'm Emily Abadi.
On The Hurtle with Emily Abadi podcast, I sit down with elite athletes, record holders, coaches, and everyday runners to unpack the mindset behind pushing through when things get tough.
