rSlash - r/AmITheA**hole YOUR UGLINESS IS SCARING MY CHILD!

Episode Date: April 12, 2020

r/AmITheA**hole In today's episode, OP tragically suffered burn scars due to a childhood accident, and also has a prosthetic legs. OP crosses paths with a Karen and her little spawn, so naturally the ...Karen scolds OP for being outside. How dare someone so ugly show their face in public! OP wants to know if he's the wrong one in this situation, which is honestly so depressing. This is one of the most clear-cut examples of OP doing absolutely nothing wrong. Point Spets Sportsbook and Casino Welcome to R-Slash Ask Reddit, where you just answer the question. Am I the butthole for not letting a pregnant woman cut me in line for the men's bathroom? I ate something that really didn't agree with me last night and I've been having digestion
Starting point is 00:00:43 issues all last night in this morning. Half an hour ago I needed to go to the bathroom, so I went. My job has amends in women's bathroom like most places. I don't know what the women's is like, but the men's only has one stall. I go in and there's a guy in it, so I wait. And just as he's getting out, an obviously pregnant woman throws the door open and tries to push past me into the stall. At this point, I've been waiting to go for a decent while and I didn't know how long I was going to be able to wait. Additionally, it's pretty annoying that she just ran in, didn't knock or warn anybody, and just assumed she could use the stall?
Starting point is 00:01:17 I couldn't just sprint into a woman's bathroom with no consequences, so I said I was next and went in before her. She yelled, well not quite yelled, it was like the volume level right below yelling. That she had to go, so I said go to the women's. She said it was full and so I said sorry but there's nothing I can do. I did my business in her to leave. I probably took 5 to 7 minutes, not too long. Well she told some of my co-workers and now they're all up on me about being rude to a pregnant woman and selfishly not letting her have the bathroom. I've explained my digestion problem, but they said I could have waited and let her go.
Starting point is 00:01:52 I might have been able to wait, I don't know. Am I the butthole? Oh my god OP, zero out of five buttholes for you. It's incredibly rude that she didn't at least ask, and on top of that, it's wildly rude and unprofessional that she ratted you out to your co-workers. And I wouldn't be surprised if she told a story that made her sound like a sane and you sound like a douchebag. She gets three out of five buttholes, and on top of that, I recommend you go to HR and reporter because what she did was not okay. Am I the butthole for making a dick dip? I'm a 32 year old female, and a few months ago,
Starting point is 00:02:27 my brother Mario 29 got married to a lovely lady, Kate, also 29. Kate and her family are nice people, but they're extremely formal and can be a bit cold. My family, on the other hand, is extremely casual. We love to joke around and poke fun. I think if Kate's family were to describe my family, there would be comments about propriety and lack thereof. The day after the wedding, Kate's parents hosted a brunch at their house. When I arrived, I
Starting point is 00:02:53 walked into the living room. Sitting there was Kate's dad, her grandma, and my other brother. On the coffee table, there was a large serving platter. On the serving platter, there was a dip that had been prepared in a mold. This dip was a little different. It was about a foot long, and the unmistakable shape of a of a penis and testicles. When I saw it, I thought I had missed judge my brother's new in-laws. Food in the shape of dick and balls? What could be funnier than that? They had clearly been hiding their greatsons of humor all this time. As soon as I saw the dip, I burst out laughing. Something left over from the Bachelorette party, I said. My brother's father-in-law looked me dead in the eyes.
Starting point is 00:03:33 It's a lobster, he said. As other guests arrive, it became clear who was in my family and who was in Kate's family. My family were all making thinly veiled penis jokes, while Kate and her family ignored us and pretended there wasn't a giant dick on the table. So creamy, my cousin said as she dug into the shaft with a cracker. They should have put more sprouts around the base, my aunt said. For months, I've been telling people the dick dip story. And anyone with a sense of humor thinks it's hilarious. Last weekend, I had some people over to my house
Starting point is 00:04:10 and as a joke, I decided to make my own dick dip. Out of respect for my sister-in-law, who lives in a different city, I didn't post any photos of the dick dip to social media. Some of my friends, however, couldn't help themselves. Kate saw photos of the dick dip on a mutual friend's Instagram story and now she's upset. I haven't heard from her, but my brother called me and said I'm disrespecting her and her family. He says I need to apologize. In my opinion, I didn't do anything wrong and Kate should lighten up. It's a dip in the shape of a penis.
Starting point is 00:04:40 Relax! Am I the butthole for making a dick dip? I love this comment from Storm RC. Not a butthole. Tell your brother you don't understand what the problem is. Everyone can plainly see it's a lobster. Look OP, real talk, I'm gonna give you zero out of five buttholes because if someone brings a dick dip to my party, I wouldn't be able to resist cracking jokes as well. But this is one of the fundamental rules of making jokes. Sometimes when you make a joke, you hurt someone's feelings.
Starting point is 00:05:08 It may not be intentional, and in cases like this, it may not even be justified. But when it happens, the best thing you can do is just swallow your pride and say, hey, you know I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Am I the butthole for going out in a pair of shorts? So I, a 23-year-old male, am covered in burn scars over every inch of my body, with the exception of my face, neck, and back. For context, my house caught on fire when I was 10 and I was lucky to survive. It was obviously traumatizing and after a long time of hating my body, I became an alcoholic in my teens to cope. When I was 20, I went drunk
Starting point is 00:05:44 driving, crashed my car, and my right leg was amputated from the knee, and I've won a prosthetic leg ever since. Since it's March, the weather is warmer now, and I had to go do some standard shopping, so I wore a jumper in short since it's not too cold out. On full display was my prosthetic and my badly scarred left leg. I should also note that I received a skin graft on that leg, so some of the skin is more visible and scarred than other portions. Anyway, I decided to take a little walk before going to the store and I cut the report.
Starting point is 00:06:13 There weren't many people around, but there were a few out. I got a couple of stairs, but that's normal, and I got to the store. I browsed for the stuff I needed like normal, and when I got to the checkout, there was a huge queue. I was expecting this, so I started waiting, waiting and eventually a mom and her son of about three or four got in line behind me. Nothing was said but I could feel the kids staring at me and he eventually started crying. I think I got a pat on my shoulder from the mom asking if I'd let them go in front of
Starting point is 00:06:40 me so they wouldn't have to stare at my deformed leg. And my robot one as I was really upsetting her kid. I got really offended and told her that I wasn't letting her skip and that some people happened to have visible deformities and that I'm allowed to wear shorts. My turn eventually came, but she called me a butthole and said I was being inconsiderate to her kid's feelings. Am I the butthole? O.P. you get zero out of five buttholes.
Starting point is 00:07:06 This is a classic encounter with an entitled parent. Pick where sheep says it best down in the comments. You're flying to meet with a new supplier to keep your business growing. And with the business platinum card from American Express, you can earn $820 in new value and more, which includes a $200 travel credit toward your flight. American Express, don't do business without it.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Terms and conditions apply visit mx.ca slash business platinum. Metrolinks and crosslinks are reminding everyone to be careful, as Eglington Cross Town them. our tracks and only make left turns where it's safe to do so. Be alert, be aware, and stay safe. Absolutely not the butthole. What she should have done in that moment was take the opportunity to teach your child about kindness, respect, and differences. She should have said to her child, some people are different, but it's okay. And taking the opportunity to teach the kid to be kind to strangers. You can wear whatever you want,
Starting point is 00:08:27 regardless of what your legs look like. What she went through is traumatizing and awful, and you're confident enough to wear shorts, and this woman tried to put you down for it. You did nothing wrong, and good for you for standing your ground. Am I the butthole for calling my ex out on his Facebook post? So, Little Baby J was born May of 2017.
Starting point is 00:08:46 His dad had broken up with me during the pregnancy. I didn't hold a grudge and wanted him to be involved. He promised me he would be, but was never there. He was almost immediately in a relationship again, and last I heard she was pregnant within three months. His life and his choice. He was never there for Jay. He's seen him literally three times, all adding up to a total of three hours and 24 minutes.
Starting point is 00:09:12 He doesn't pay child support. I don't want child support from him. So I have a friend who's friends with my ex on Facebook and he recently texted me a screenshot of a post on my ex's wall. It was a picture of Jay the day he was born. It was captioned, Happy 3rd birthday, Kay. I wish your mother wouldn't keep us apart anymore. I wish you could meet your sibling, but that isn't happening. I hope in the future we'll meet, just know you're my world. He had wanted to name our son Kay. I didn't keep them apart at all. I
Starting point is 00:09:46 encouraged visits. I even bought him a car seat and something for J to sleep in when he visits. People were sympathizing with him. So I know this is tacky. I commented screenshots of texts of me offering to bring J around, of asking him when he would visit, etc. I was blocked three to four hours later, but the damage had been done. He texted me calling me a butthole and apparently his girlfriend had broken up with him over it and now he looks bad in front of his family. I don't really care what he thinks, but my friend thinks I was a butthole too and what I did was in bad taste. Am I the butthole? O.P. come on seriously. Saying you get 0 out of 5 buttholes is a little bit too generous.
Starting point is 00:10:25 You might even get negative buttholes because not only did you not do anything wrong, you were correcting a blatant lie. I mean sure it was a little bit tacky but just because you're being tacky doesn't mean you're being a butthole. So I think I'm gonna give you negative 1 out of 5 buttholes and give your ex 2 out of 5 buttholes for being a hypocrite and another 3 out of 5 buttholes for being a deadbeat dad. Am I the butthole for not telling a bunch of random women I'm gay? So I a 23 year old male, I'm gay.
Starting point is 00:10:56 I've been out since I was 18 and I've never hidden it, but I don't like actively mention it or broadcast it because it's literally nobody's business. The first person I came out to was my dad, and he's always been supportive of me. He was 16 when I was born and practically raised me as a single dad, so we have an exceptionally closed relationship. Anyway, onto the story. My dad recently turned 40 only earlier this month. He had a huge party and drank a bit too much and was severely hungover the following
Starting point is 00:11:24 morning. He's a freelance photographer and accepted a contract with bit too much and was severely hung over the following morning. He's a freelance photographer and accepted a contract with a local business and was meant to hand in some photography work he'd done for them the morning after his birthday. He was too hung over to do so, so he asked if I'd do it. He called their office to tell them he was sending a son with the work and I went in. Everything was fine and I ended up meeting a bunch of people he's currently working with. They knew I was my dad's son as he talks about me with them.
Starting point is 00:11:46 I get some conversation with them to be nice, and a few of the younger women started, I guess, flirting with me. A few of them called me attractive and stuff like that, and I kinda just stood there awkwardly. It was just wild that straight women were hitting on me. I didn't encourage it or anything, but I didn't say anything as I was too embarrassed and eventually said I had to run and off I went. My dad went in the day after and he was questioned about if I was single. He said no, I wasn't, and that I had a boyfriend, and that was all he said. Well, turns out these women then started blatantly calling me a butthole as I apparently let them embarrass themselves, by openly hitting on me when there was no chance
Starting point is 00:12:25 I'd ever be interested. My dad did fight my corner and said that I was literally there to just drop off his work and that I had no obligation to disclose I was gay. I'm thankful my dad's on my side, but these women calling me a butthole kind of makes me feel bad for not saying anything. Am I the butthole? No, OP, you get 0 out of 5 buttholes. These girls didn't embarrass themselves because they were hitting on a guy who wasn't interested in them. These women embarrass themselves by calling you a butthole right in front of your own father. That is extremely unprofessional and insanely rude. I'm gonna give those women 3 out of 5 buttholes. Am I the butthole for calling a woman a dumb grunt and telling her to go eff herself in
Starting point is 00:13:07 front of her kids after she told my adopt Denise to call me aunt? So my husband said I overreacted and my other mom friends are tearing each other apart over this. So I have four kids. Three of them are biologically my nieces and nephews. Six years ago, my brother and his wife were killed by a drunk driver. They had three kids, at the time they were 10, 7, and 2 years old. Me and my husband decided to take them in and last year we finalized the adoption of all three of
Starting point is 00:13:35 them. We held off on this for many reasons. Suffice to say, our family situation is a rough topic. We've worked extremely hard with the two older children and made sure that they know we're not trying to just replace their parents, but that's not relevant here. This situation involves my youngest niece. Because of how young she was when we brought her in, she seized me and my husband as her parents. We've never lied to her and told her we were her biological mom or dad, and she knows this, but she still only ever called me mom. Her and my daughter are also only a year apart in age and see each other as sisters. So yesterday, the two of them were invited by a neighbor girl to a birthday party.
Starting point is 00:14:11 When we were there, I hung out with the other moms as the kids played. This is where Karen comes in. This was the first time I'd met Karen. We began talking, and she asked me if my niece was adopted. My late sister-in-law was Indian while me and my husband are white. This isn't an uncommon question. I answered truthfully and said she was my adopted niece, but I see her no differently than my daughter.
Starting point is 00:14:32 Karen gave me the normal. Wow, you're so strong and brave. And we continued on. As the party wound down, my daughter and niece came over repeating, mom, asking if they could take home some of the leftover cake. Karen immediately said, Honey, she's not your mom, she's your aunt. I immediately looked at her and asked what she meant by this
Starting point is 00:14:53 and she said that, it's not right for me to confuse her. Me and Karen got into a fight and it got ugly, fast. I called her a dumb grunt in front of her daughter and told her to go eff herself before I went out to smoke. By the time I came back in, Karen had left and the other moms either supported me or told me that I was a huge butthole to pull a scene like that. When I got home and told my husband, he said that I overreacted. He agreed that she was a horrible jerk, but that I shouldn't have caused a scene and just ignore her.
Starting point is 00:15:22 We also had to sit down and explain to my daughter and niece what happened and why I did what I did. After everything though, I feel like I did nothing wrong. Am I the butthole? So down in the comments, people generally agreed that everyone sucks here and I think I'm on board with that. So first things first, that Karen was an absolute piece of work. She had no business budding her nose into another family's
Starting point is 00:15:45 dynamics, telling kids what to call their parents that seriously messed up. So I'm gonna give her three out of five buttholes for being a busybody. As for OP, I will agree that she escalated the situation pretty drastically, but to be honest, I don't blame her for that reaction at all. So for OP saying what she said, I'm actually gonna give her zero out of five butth. So for OP saying what she said, I'm actually going to get for a zero out of five but holes. But for saying what she said in front of Karen's daughter and in front of other kids, I'm going to give you two out of five but holes. And on top of that, saying it at a children's birthday party where you're a guest, yeah,
Starting point is 00:16:18 I'm going to give you another one out of five but holes, bringing OP to three out of five but holes. That was our slash ass credit and my ass credit question for you is why haven't you hit the subscribe button yet?
