Starting point is 00:00:00 At Salesforce, we're all about asking more of AI. Questions like, where's the data going? Is it secure? Are you sure? Are you sure you're sure? Get answers you can trust from Salesforce at AskMoreVai.com. Welcome to R-Slash, a podcast where I read
Starting point is 00:00:15 the best post from across Reddit. Today's subreddit is R-Slash using beggars where OP ruined some kids Christmas. Moody feeling betrayed. I am livid. My babysitter has been babysitting for me for seven months now for $100 a week. The hours are easy, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. like a regular full-time job. And the kids are basically angels.
Starting point is 00:00:39 They sleep most of the day anyway at this age. I got a text from her saying that she's applying to Walmart and that she can't afford to work for me anymore. She's not paying me anything, I'm paying her. What do you mean can't afford? Heathen working longer hours for less pay, you ungrateful beward. And now I'm stuck without child care. All the daycares in my area are super expensive and every time I post it and add
Starting point is 00:01:06 on a local buy and sell, people have left really mean comments. I'm getting desperate. I can't believe she put me in this spot. This is risking my livelihood. I thought she was my friend. And then down the comments, Karen gets ripped to shreds. I'm sorry, Karen, but your babysitter working 40 hours a week at $100, that's $2.50 an hour. She will be making more at Walmart, that's just the truth. With the taxes she'll have to pay, this was all under the table easy money. Now she'll have to have a real grown-up job, and I bet she'll learn to regret it. She should feel ashamed leaving me high and dry. Then someone attacks the babysitter and asks, girl, is this true?
Starting point is 00:01:52 I block her, she won't be able to see this. I don't need her in my life anymore. And the babysitter responds, huh? No, you dumb beward. You did not block me. I can see everything you wrote. I will make way more money working less hours at Walmart without your whiny kids at scream half the day. Plus the job has benefits. Taxes won't drive my earnings down to 250 an hour. Your math is wrong.
Starting point is 00:02:18 I tried to work for you for as long as I could, but when I saw your new Lexus and asked for a raise and you said you couldn't afford it, I saw right through you. You were using me for cheap labor because I am, was a friend. I refused to not be valued, my labor has worth, and I deserve to not struggle financially. I worked a good long nine months for you. Yes, nine, not seven. Because two of those months were unpaid. But I refuse to continue this cycle. You're rude and entitled. Your kids are better.
Starting point is 00:02:50 Listen here, B word. The Lexus is a rental. I could afford to pay you a little more, but for what? Watching over two sleeping babies and twiddling your thumbs? Forget it! Have fun working as a cashier on your feet all day. Getting yelled at by the manager for your sucky attitude and regretting the cushy job you had here, where you could watch TV all day and do your online courses using our Wi-Fi. Should I send you the bill for that? What about the water usage for when you stay over? Should I send you the end voice? I made you dinner for multiple occasions when you had to stay late. Should I send you the bill for that? I dinner for multiple occasions when you had to stay late. Should I send you the bill for THAT? I've been welcoming, and you've been greaty!
Starting point is 00:03:30 So much for community and friends when all they want is cash. F out for my page, babysitter! Could look getting someone to work for pennies, be word. So every time a Karen posts something online, you always have to think to yourself, surely the situation has to be worse than she's making it out, right? Clearly, this person's an entitled butthole, so they're probably lying to make themselves look better, right? Well, this is a crystal clear example of that. I try not to call women the beward, but oh my god, this woman is a total beward.
Starting point is 00:04:01 Morning ladies, I'm looking for a handyman to put up a heavy mirror on the brackets on a brick wall located in my dining room. I was quoted 20 pounds from a tradesman from Blank, so I'm looking to pay no more than 10 to 15 pounds, as it's a simple straightforward job. I don't want anyone who's not professional to do it, as I don't want it falling down after a few days' time, low. If we make an appointment, we stick to it, and communication is vital also, thanks in advance!"
Starting point is 00:04:29 Our next reddit post is from Will Be All Right. I came to Bunch of Weight in College, so some of my coats wouldn't fit anymore. I got tired of seeing them in my closet collecting dust, and worried about how people in need would pass the winner. I decided to donate them to a church that's currently collecting clothes, blankets, and canguts. After 20 minutes of standing in the line, I give the bag with my clothing to the passer's wife, and she eyes the bag like it's full of garbage. None of the items have tags, do they? She's wearing a mask, but I can tell she's pissed. I nod, saying that their second hand but barely worn, and a few of the clothes were worn just once. Darling, this isn't the place to dump clothes that you don't want. We're trying to get
Starting point is 00:05:09 clothes with tags on them to get them away on Christmas to the less fortunate. We'll accept these because they look fine, but next time, be more generous and bring us items that have been recently purchased AND with tags on. I swear, people would do just about anything to get a raffle ticket. She then gives me a ticket to a raffle that I had no idea about. The prize was 300 euros, and I leave completely speechless. And older women who were wearing bougie outfits kept eyeing me and gossiping. Their clothes were still in the store's original original bag and I could see tags everywhere. They really went and bought a ton of items. I got home in tears. I wanted to help despite being broke and I got an earful instead. Is being poor a sin? Aren't churchgoers supposed to be
Starting point is 00:05:57 kinder than this? Them only wanting clothes with tags makes me think that they want to resell the clothing for profit. I don't want to donate to that congregation ever again. OP, you took the words right out of my mouth. Actually, I don't think they're going to resell them for a profit. My first instinct was that they wanted to return the clothing to the store for a full refund. Will you take $400? Sorry, but no. They're $1,000 brand new and I'm asking $700 for a lightly used one in near-ment condition. I'm open to offers, but $400 is too low.
Starting point is 00:06:32 I can do $500, Max. Please, I need it for Christmas for my son. Sorry, I can't give it up for that. I'll drop it down to $600 for Christmas, but I absolutely can't go any lower. So you're not even willing to help someone out during the holidays? I literally just took $100 off my asking price. If you never mind. Ah, it's that time of the year. Time for the- Oh, but you could've ruined my son's Christmas choosing beggar posts. I've been waiting all year for this.
Starting point is 00:07:05 Now streaming on Paramount Plus. Hey, baby, I hear the blues. It's calling, toss salads, and scrambled eggs. Y'all know how this goes. And maybe I seem a bit confused. Yeah, maybe. But I got you picked. Ha-ha-ha.
Starting point is 00:07:23 But I don't know what to do with those toss salads and scrambled eggs. So many of us think one day we'll find a way to buy our first home. Can you give me some more info?
Starting point is 00:08:07 Hello, sure. What do you find me on? I'm not sure how much info you have, but basically it's just a massive collection I've been adding to for almost five years now and continue to add to five links 500 plus files And it's a $20 one-time fee everything from solo to not solo to really not solo. Once you send the payment I'll email you the links and when I add the new content it'll update automatically for you. Military discount? I mean, I like to think the 20 bucks is kind of really low already. It's a lot of content and a variety of different things, but sure I guess $15. It doesn't matter how low low most businesses here in the States give discounts to men who served on Veterans Day. Can't you take $10? I just got surgery
Starting point is 00:08:53 on my right leg so I'm tapped out. No, that's too low, sorry. You're fat anyway, get a real job LMFAO, so broke that you have to sell yourself for $20. I fought for you to work. Go back to Mexico. Don't disrespect those who fought for you. Trump will be president again and send all of you racial slurs hose back over the border. I'm kinda filling in the blanks on this conversation. From what I gather, OP asselling her nudes online and this guy wants to buy her collection
Starting point is 00:09:23 of nudes for 20 bucks. And then when the price is too high, he calls her too fat and calls her racial slurs. It's like, dude, if you don't like thick latinas, then why are you trying to buy thick latina nudes? And furthermore, who doesn't like thick latinas? Enthusiastic and able to work alongside with the rest of the social media team. Join an amazing team and help make a difference in the community. Part time, 5 hours per week. Salary.
Starting point is 00:10:20 Zero dollars per year. Is the job title for this position clown because that's what you'd have to be to accept this job. Posted a Facebook. Hey friends and moms of boys, my daughter Blank is pregnant with a boy. We need all of your extras or anything you'd be willing to give her, clothes, toys, diapers, wipes, etc. She's almost 18 so please be kind.
Starting point is 00:10:45 Is this Cheyenne? Hey girl, I know we haven't talked in a while so I hope this is still your number. Yep, still my number. I'm sorry but I don't have this number saved. Who is this? This is Blink from Work at Blink. I saw that we're still friends on Facebook so I was wondering if you saw my post about Blank. She's having a baby soon. Wow, long time no talk. I hope you're doing well. Yeah, I saw the post. Congrats.
Starting point is 00:11:12 Yeah, so I remember you're on to having a kid around the time that we work together. And I want to know if you have any clothes that I can have for a boy. Um, I can check. Most of his clothes are going towards his nephew, but there might be some that could ask my aunt to chill part with. Okay, but can you see if she has any with the tag still on? We only want new clothes, and everyone on Facebook keeps trying to give away their worn baby clothes. No one has baby wipes either, which is super annoying, because like, they don't need them if the baby
Starting point is 00:11:42 isn't a newborn. And my daughter could really use them because the dad isn't in the picture anymore. Because my wife and I don't like him, so we told her not to tell him yet, also in case it isn't his baby. Oh, I'm not sure if she has anything that's brand new. Her son just had twins, so like I said, most of his clothes are probably going towards him. I'll ask him back to you. And down in the comments, we have this contribution from Earththandy. Wow, and here I am still using baby wipes for my toddler. To think that I could have stopped using them when she wasn't a newborn because, as we all know, toddlers never poop.
Starting point is 00:12:17 Selling Jessica and Candy Polyhedial Dice for $25. I'm interested. Is this available? Yes, it is. Would you be willing to do $20? I can do $25 with shipping. Actually, I live in Olympia and want the dice for a game that we're having tomorrow night. Would you be willing to drive it to us?
Starting point is 00:12:36 Let me get this straight. You want me to reduce the price and drive two hours out of my way to deliver the dice to you, eating up my time and gas? Here are the ones trying to sell your dice. It's good customer service and business in order to do this for your customers. I'm not running a business. It's $25 for the prize and you can come pick them up. I don't have a car.
Starting point is 00:12:58 That's nice. Go to a store near you and buy the dice there. But my daughter, once the pink dice, you're ruining a child's birthday. I don't give an F. We're done here. Have a heart you butthole. Sorry Karen, no dice. I do break jobs for your car for $100. That $100 is too high a price because that $100 needs to include the pad and the rotors.
Starting point is 00:13:23 If I include the pads and the rotors and the $100, it's literally impossible to make any money whatsoever. Okay, I'm in poverty and I thought you'd show some compassion to the meek and the poor. I apologize, but the pads and the rotors themselves go for at the very least $150. I'm offering considerably lower prices than other shops would ever. Sorry, but I can't afford it. Jesus would have showed some compassion. Down in the comments, I'm going to read this reply from Forever Useless.
Starting point is 00:13:53 As a retired mechanic, I welcome Carmichanic Jesus. He turns sludge into oil, provides high octane to needy turbos, and cures all tire rot. Praise mechanic Jesus. On this next post, a choosing beggar tries to hire an artist. Great, you can go ahead and send me the $45 here and I'll be back with work and progress lines for approval. That's okay, I'll pay when it's done.
Starting point is 00:14:17 Ah, I'm sorry, as stated in my terms of service, all payments are taken before I can start on the order. I don't think you should make people pay before they even see the art. That's kind of stupid. I'm sorry, it's to ensure that no one takes the art without paying. I'll be sending works and progress as I work for your approval, and if you're unhappy with the lines, I can refund you at that time. No thanks, this sounds like a scam, you shouldn't force people to pay before they even get
Starting point is 00:14:42 the product. I apologize for the inconvenience. However, this is how I run my business and I always have. When you place the order, I had assumed that you were aware as it's listed in my terms of services which you agree to. I cannot accept the commission if you're unwilling to pay up front. Get a real job if you need money that bad lol. On this next post, someone posted picture of an unopened turkey and says,
Starting point is 00:15:05 I would rather this turkey go to a family intrudeneid. Thanks in advance. And then someone replies, would you mind cooking it up with stuffing so we can pick it up in the morning? What about 11 o'clock work for you? And down in the comments, we have a story from Jing raisins which shows just how much these choosing beggars ruin the giving spirit. I've been going to the same therapist for many years. Frequently, they had anonymous donor offer full turkey dinners with all the sides to the poor client, so they could have a Thanksgiving dinner. The first year I got one, I cried, feeling so grateful. I even wrote a letter to the anonymous donor thinking him so very much. But
Starting point is 00:15:46 the next year I went with my friend who takes me everywhere like appointment shopping everything. I could never repay what she's done for me and my family. She was a client at the same office. She found out about the turkeys. She pretty much went to the receptionist and practically demanded one box for her and one box for me. She hadn't discussed that with me prior. I couldn't take it since I didn't have any room in my fridge or freezer. Plus at the time, I didn't need it. But my friend can be a bit overwhelming when she thinks that she's right. I myself, I was mortified. The next week, I talked to my therapist and gave a tearful apology for my friend and said that I didn't
Starting point is 00:16:25 need the box of food. The therapist called me down and just reassured me that it would be fine. And the anonymous donor did end up giving us a two boxes. I called my son who's 24 and lives with his partner in As if he wanted the box. When he saw everything in the box, he cried. This year was different. My therapist said that their anonymous donor was no longer doing it. That's okay.
Starting point is 00:16:47 It's his money and he should spend it where it'll be useful. My friend was upset, but I just quietly sat in her car.
