Starting point is 00:00:30 where an entitled mom walks into someone's business and just demands to become their business partner. Our next reddit post is from Crazy Scroll Girl. To preface this, I own my own jewelry business. I was attending a small local Celtic festival and I was just starting out at the time I had my own purple 10 by 10 foot pop-up tent with attachable sidewalls So as the festival was underway, I had two sidewalls up to block out the sun
Starting point is 00:00:56 I was sitting behind the tables in the back working on a custom order for a client I'm kind of like in the corner where the two sidewalls meet Enter entitled mom and entitled daughter, who was about 15 years old. My husband starts talking with the mother and she tells him that she's just looking. The entitled mother sees that I'm working and starts to move items on the table so she can lean over this two foot wide table between us and see what I'm working on. I look up at her and say, um, excuse me, ma'am, please don't rearrange my stock. Well, I can't see what you're doing. I'm working on a client's custom necklace. If you need a hand, my husband will happily assist you.
Starting point is 00:01:36 That doesn't look too hard to do. You should hire my daughter. She makes paracord bracelets. We're not hiring at the moment, but I'll keep your suggestion in mind. Well, she can do sales. You shouldn't have a man selling jewelry. I can see my husband roll his eyes behind her. I hear the daughter say, Mom, I want to buy this and this, picking a couple pairs of earrings and a necklace.
Starting point is 00:02:00 No, sweetie. Wait until you're an employee and use your discount. I say, I'm sorry, but we're not hiring at the moment, and that male is my husband and business partner. The entitled mother Huffs grabs my daughter by the arm and starts to walk away. My husband chases after them to get the stolen product back from the entitled daughter. He comes back, we chuckle over the situation, and I thought that it was over. I was wrong. So wrong. One hour later, the entitled mother comes back. She says, I've been watching from over there, and you've sold a lot of jewelry. I can also see a lot of people walking around with your bags. Okay, thanks. So I think that I should be your business partner.
Starting point is 00:02:46 You can make everything and then I'll sell it and keep half the money. My husband said, excuse me, could you repeat that, ma'am? I'm not talking to you, I'm talking to her. I said, I'm sorry, I'm not looking for a partner right now, I already have one. Oh, he doesn't count, he's just your husband. He doesn't do anything. Okay, that's it. Ma'am, I do not need or want a partner and I am not looking for an employee. This is a family business. Have a great day. The entitled mother stalks off. Ten minutes later, my husband goes off for a break. Suddenly, I hear a ripping noise as the sidewall gets ripped off of my tent. I stand up getting ready to defend my cash box and it's her. She starts
Starting point is 00:03:32 ranting at me in a high-pitched scratchy voice. Honestly, at this point, I can barely pay attention to her words. She starts trying to grab it my tools while saying that she can sell my stuff and that I need her. I scream for security and my husband. I say get your hands off my stuff now and get the F out of my booth. Security came, heard me out and removed her from the festival. I learn later that she tried this at other booths too. Okay um, this feels like some kind of scam but I'm not exactly sure what it is.
Starting point is 00:04:05 My guess is that this was some attempt to steal the jewelry. Like maybe she pulled open the tent hoping to come in and steal the stuff, but she didn't expect OP to be there, and then I guess to cover her tracks, she said, how dare you not hire me blah blah blah, when really she was just trying to pill for some jewelry. I think that's what happened, right? Because trying to cover your tracks after stealing seems more plausible than trying to get a job by yelling at someone? She can't honestly think this is gonna work.
Starting point is 00:04:34 Can she? Our next reddit post is from knee lock lives. So my wife and I have two kids, a three year old and an 18 month old. We went a cruise to the Bahamas for two, meaning the kids couldn't go. My mother volunteered to watch the kids. Great, it's all settled. Me and my wife are going to get away for a week and have some time for ourselves. As the date approaches, my mom starts talking about having the kids at her house for the week. We told her that we were under the impression that she was going to be at our house. All the kids stuff is here, our home is single story so it's easier to track the kids in,
Starting point is 00:05:08 it's significantly closer to all of their doctors for emergencies, and our house is baby-proved while hers isn't. So we told her that we really felt that they should be at our house, and if that didn't work for her, then we would make other arrangements. She said that our house was fine, but a few days later she said that she would like to be at her house because my siblings who still live with her could help watch the kids. And by the way, my siblings had to be instructed on how to be nice to toddlers, which is why they weren't invited to my Thanksgiving.
Starting point is 00:05:40 We get ready to leave for our trip. Though as we're showing my mom where everything is and going over food and snacks, she's more interested in playing with the kids than learning where the diapers are. So one day when we're on the cruise, my wife uses the boat's internet to do a video call to check on the kids. Everything seems fine, but my mother tells her not to call again for the rest of the trip because it might upset the kids. My wife doesn't tell me about that part of the conversation right away, but as soon as she does, we call her back. When she answers, she's at her house with our kids.
Starting point is 00:06:15 And you can see brand new kids apparel and paraphernalia in the background. I asked her what happened, and she tells me that she was really sick, and she thinks she got neurovirus. She said that she was so nauseous that she had to pack up all my kids in her car and then drive an hour and a half to her house. So you were so sick that you couldn't watch the kids, but you could drive home in a car that wasn't yours and endanger kids that aren't yours in the event that you pass out or spontaneously start vomiting while on the freeway,
Starting point is 00:06:46 potentially killing our children? Why didn't you just call the list of people that we gave you who said that they would come help? So my mother responds by saying that she really was sick, but I never accused her of not being sick. I doubted it, but I never said it. Then she tells me, how dare you judge me for my decisions and I don't have to justify myself to you. And I don't have to watch your kids. I told her to pack my kids up in the car and take them home. Someone else was going to watch them. When she dropped the kids off, she was nasty to the new caretakers and salt.
Starting point is 00:07:23 As soon as I knew the kids were safe, I sent her a message saying she clearly didn't respect us as parents. And it doesn't matter how many kids she raised, these are our kids, and she sure is hell needed to justify herself and check in with us if she was too sick to do her job. We have a right to know what's going on with our kids, and any sane person would call and ask us what we wanted them to do before packing
Starting point is 00:07:46 the kids up and just taking them away. The next day, she replied to the message saying she didn't realize that she did anything that was that far out of expected parameters. Yeah, her words. And that she recognized that parents had their own rules and she would have to learn ours. Never did anything resembling the word sorry come across in that message or any other message. We blocked her on social media and haven't spoken to her since.
Starting point is 00:08:12 Yeah, I hope so. I'm with you on this one. Like, if you're so sick that you can't watch kids, then obviously you're too sick to drive kids an hour and a half. Clearly, she was lying about being sick. Holt Renfrew is sharing joy for the holidays with gifts for everyone on your list, and maybe even a special treat for yourself, too. Our next reddit post is from top studio, so I'm a 14-year-old male, and my family recently moved into a house in a new estate. This estate had a park that was massive. My house is on the main road of the estate, but its garage is on the other side on another road and we're close to the park. About two months ago, the community hosted an opening ceremony for the park.
Starting point is 00:09:39 A lot of people came, even people from the surrounding areas as well. Me, my brother and my parents left our house and walked down to the park. Due to all the traffic, there were even traffic directors to manage all the cars. Once we get there, we see a car parked in our driveway. My dad's a calm dude usually, but he does not like stuff like this. Me and my older brother, who's 18, go up to one of the traffic directors and tell him that the car in that parking lot isn't ours and we don't want it there. The worker tells us that he saw the people who parked there and he kind of remembers what they
Starting point is 00:10:14 look like. We tell the traffic director that we would like to get the car moved and the traffic director says that he would try to find her. About 20 minutes later, we see the worker walking up to the car with a lady and her son who looks to be about 9 years old. As she's walking up, we can see that she's starting to get angry. Naturally, we walk up to see what's happening. This is the conversation that happened. I don't understand why you want me to move my car. I live here." The worker said, well, they say you don't, and I don't see why they would bring this issue here unless it was true. They're clearly lying. I live here. My brother said, ma'am, please, I live here and I even have the keys to the house. Please move your car.
Starting point is 00:10:58 BS, come bully, BS. I've lived here for a year and I watch this park get built. For context, our house was built only five months ago. My brother says, Okay then, what two cars are inside the garage? A Volkswagen and Amazda. Nope, a Volkswagen Jetta and a Hyundai I-45. That's not true, I'll open the garage and show you. As she searches through her handbag,
Starting point is 00:11:23 my brother opens the garage. There, that's the evidence. He closes the garage and show you. As she searches through her handbag, my brother opens the garage. There, that's the evidence. He closes the garage. The worker said, it's not your house lady, so please leave. The car and gets in the car and leaves while looking very angry. We didn't think to call the cops because nothing major happened, but it was funny to see her lying out of her butt and getting proven wrong. PS, I hope the man with a dog named Hugo sees this, love your content. I did indeed see this, but just FYI, it's Hugo with a Y, not Hugo with an H. Also, down in the comments we have this story from Pizza Sauce.
Starting point is 00:11:59 This happened to my mom. There was a big parade in her small town and some people would just park wherever. She had just got off of her morning shift and came home to find people parked in her driveway and hanging out in her porch and using her patio set on her deck. A few people had even borrowed her camping chairs which she keeps in the corner of her patio. She asked them if the cars belonged to any of them. They said the cars did belong to them, but that they lived there and she could f off
Starting point is 00:12:26 and park elsewhere. She was like, whatever, and parked behind the vehicle's sideways, thus blocking all of them in. The group was screaming at her to move her car or they'd call the cops. She just smirked and unlocked her side door and went inside the house. She said that it was hilarious hearing the people panicking because they realized they messed up. They called the local police on her when she refused to move her car. But she's friends with the cops. It was a super small town. The cops just laughed and said that technically they couldn't force my mom
Starting point is 00:12:59 to move her car because she was parked legally in her own driveway. My mom finally moved it and told them that she wouldn't have had a problem with it if they hadn't decided that her lawn chairs and patios were theirs to use. She scolded them and said that they should park to the side so the homeowner could still park there and to just sit on the ground like normal people do. Man, it's while the people can just come up onto some random persons patio like they own it and just start using their furniture. Hello? Our next Reddit post is from Youngscom. I deliver newspapers as a side job. I feel so bad for the owner of one specific house that I deliver to. All the neighborhood parents collectively decided that this guy's driveway
Starting point is 00:13:42 is where they'd wait for their kids for the school bus every morning. It shouldn't be an issue, but the parents socialize on the curb ignoring their kids. The kids run rampant on this guy's property, chasing each other around his cars, running across his lawn, playing in his garden, and screaming on his front steps at 8 a.m. I'm pretty sure that the homeowner isn't okay with this at all, but the parents and kids treat him in his property with major disrespect anyways. This winter, we've had a lot of freezing and thawing,
Starting point is 00:14:14 resulting in several inches thick ice almost everywhere, including this guy's driveway. After one particularly rainy day, followed by a freezing night, everyone's driveway looks similar to a skating rink. Just as I got out of my car to deliver the paper, homeowner is coming out of his house, heading towards his car. One of the mothers approaches him and instantly asks,
Starting point is 00:14:36 Why isn't your driveway salted? The homeowner responds, I really don't have time to do that. I'm running late for work. I got to pick up breakfast on the way. This response isn't good enough for this entitled mom, who begins yelling about how her precious kid could get hurt while playing on this guy's property. She calls himself selfish and irresponsible as he tries to explain that clearing his driveway
Starting point is 00:14:59 for her kids isn't his job, and that the kid shouldn't be playing there anyways. He finally gets past the entitled mom, into his car, and that the kid shouldn't be playing there anyways. He finally gets past the entitled mom into his car and quickly drives away. As I'm going back to my car, I see the entitled mom walk back to the group of parents and begin complaining about the homeowner. This happened a few months back. The parents still gather in this dude's driveway to let their kids mess with this stuff every morning.
Starting point is 00:15:25 I feel really bad for this guy. My mom works in local government, and she told me that this type of thing happens where kids are messing with your property while waiting for the school bus. All you have to do is call up the school and complain about the kids, and they will immediately revoke school bus privileges. Then instead of standing around on this guy's driveway every morning, those parents will have to get their butts into a car and drive their kids to school. That was our slash entitled parents, and if you liked this content, be sure to follow my podcast because I put out new Reddit podcast episodes every single day.
