where a 20-year-old
gets sued for age
discrimination for refusing to date a 45 year old. Our next reddit post is from
agediscriminator. I met up with a guy from Plenty of Fish. He seemed normal when
we were talking. So I meet him at a restaurant and he is a much older man
than the 30 year old that he claimed to be. I sat down and told him that I was under the assumption that he was younger and that he
had told me that he was younger than this.
He claimed that they were older pictures and that it must have been a typo, although his
profile says 30 years old.
But actually, he's 45.
I told him that I was not interested in someone almost 20 years older than me and I wished
him well.
He began to raise his voice a little saying that he had already ordered for me and I had
to sit down and eat with him.
I went to the bartender and gave a brief explanation of what had happened and the manager walked
me to my car while the bartender stayed with the guy to make sure that he didn't follow
me.
I went about my merry way for a couple of months before I was served at work with papers
stating that I was being sued.
I called the attorney listed to verify and the lawyer confirmed that they were real.
The guy I dated was a client and I was being sued the cost of the entire dinner and his
travel expenses because I used his age as discrimination, which is illegal.
Now, I know this is going to get thrown out. I'm fully aware that he's crazy.
But do I need a lawyer for this? Money's been tight and I'm paying off student loans galore.
Is it possible for me to walk into court, represent myself,
and not be completely murdered by their attorney?
Yo, why on earth did this attorney take this case on?
If this had any sort of grounds whatsoever,
then every 18-year-old girl would get sued into oblivion
the second she turned 18 by 50-year-olds and 60-year-olds saying,
you must give me a date or else I'm gonna sue you for age discrimination.
It's just so stupid, man. It makes no sense.
This guy's a nut job.
Our next credit post is from Jezanylo.
I am 16 years and 2 months old.
My parents believe I'm a disaster and an unruly child.
But they're delusional parents.
My mother has bipolar disorder and doesn't take her meds regularly and I'm sure my father
has undiagnosed mental health problems as well.
They've been wanting to send me to a camp for troubled teenagers for a while, and two
people came to take me without me knowing.
I thought they were kidnapping me!
I screamed and my brother, who was at home but wasn't supposed to be, took my father's
gun and threatened to kill them.
And that was when they told us who they are and why they're here.
We called the police, but they did nothing after they talked to our them. And that was when they told us who they are and why they're here. We called the police, but they did nothing after they talked to our parents.
I don't trust my parents anymore and I want to get emancipated. Where do I start and what
documents do I need to prepare? Do I have a case? I'm working part-time now. I don't
think my parents will object. They'll be happy to get rid of me.
Then OP posted an update. I sadly don't have any good news. Just two weeks after posting that, my parents ended up
sending me to a camp. The camp that they sent me to was using the same property and facilities
of an older camp that was closed down due to abuse of teenagers. The place wasn't like anything I
imagined it would be. I tried to cooperate and pretend everything is normal
But they see compliance as a form of resistance
Well, they see non-compliance as a form of resistance whatever you do
They see it as resistance
Their formula is that we were defective people and the only way to fix us is to first break us down
Completely and then rebuild us is to first break us down completely and then
rebuild us according to their standards. Until they see that you have mental breakdowns,
they don't agree that you're ready to relearn everything and change, so they continue the
pressure. Even when I was doing everything they wanted, they weren't convinced. It took maybe
three months for them to be convinced that I'm broken down, and they did break
my spirit to be honest.
I got to the point that I didn't care about anything anymore, I just wanted it to end.
They knew about my YouTube channel, and they wanted me to log in and delete all my videos
and delete the channel.
They had a girl who pretended to work in the kitchens befriend me only to see if I truly
hate my old self or not.
She tell me that she watched my videos and she was insulting me left and right and was
saying horrible things about me and my brother, who's also a YouTuber.
And I was supposed to agree with her.
If I took things personally, they knew that I was acting and wasn't ready.
They got me when I was at my lowest and had me log into the account.
The next day, they brought me in front of a computer and showed me that my old password
wasn't working anymore and told me they've deleted my account.
I was thinking that all the time and effort I placed there was gone.
From there, I didn't care anymore and they were convinced they'd achieved their goal.
So, things became easier.
They'd teach me to be a nice, girly Christian girl who wants to raise babies and would never
touch a boy until she's married to someone her parents pick.
It was like they were sending me into a children's book.
Then my dad came and brought me back home.
When I got back, my brother actually told me that my YouTube account wasn't deleted.
Since I was using his email for recovery, he got a notification when I logged in from
the camp because it was a new place.
So he figured this isn't good news and jumped in and changed the password.
So my account is intact.
The buttholes at the camp were lying.
I don't know if I'm the same person or not or how much I've changed, but I really
hate my parents.
I hate them so much that a year ago I couldn't even imagine such a level of hatred as possible.
There are 448 days until I'm 18 and I'm counting every single day until this is over.
And then I'm leaving with my brother and we're never looking back.
My brother is the only positive thing in my life and the only person I trust.
When I was gone, he went to the police, CPS, even talked to a lawyer and private investigator
to find a way to get me back, but nothing worked.
My parents came after my $15,000 in savings, which I had in a joint account with my brother
in order to pay for this program that they sent me to.
But my brother actually ended up moving the money to an account only under his name, so
my parents couldn't access it.
He continued to post the videos that I had prepared in the pipeline when I was gone,
so I continued to make money and didn't lose subscribers.
Wait, OP is 16 and made $15,000 off of YouTube videos?
Most parents would be beaming with pride with that level of accomplishment, not sending
their kid off to a camp.
Well, I can only hope that OP got out of that terrible situation.
Our next Reddit post is from mamasharkdoodoodoodoo.
I have a hot pepper garden out front in a planter box.
There's chicken wire supporting the plans and keeping the deer out, but there's not
a sign warning about the peppers or anything.
I never imagined it'd be necessary.
It's a good 20 feet from the sidewalk up by the porch in my front door.
Nobody has any business going up there and messing with my garden.
It's very clearly private property.
Today I came home from work to find vomit all over my lawn, my walkway, and on the fabric
cushions of the bench of my porch, along with various trash, empty waters, an open
lunchbox with a content spewed about, and a t-shirt soaked in vomit.
There was a note on the door that just said, there's been an accident and to please
call as soon as I saw the note.
Worried about what could have happened, I called.
Well, it turns out this afternoon a group of middle schoolers walking home from school
decided to have a hot pepper eating contest in my frickin' yard.
Long story short, one kid ate a Carolina Reaper Hybrid, stronger than a ghost pepper, whole,
and ended up having to go to the hospital
by ambulance.
Several other kids also got violently ill eating various other kinds of peppers.
The phone number listed was one of the kids' dads and he was pissed as all get out.
He was telling me I was crazy for having peppers like that out where people could get to them.
He was asking for my insurance, saying he was going to get the police involved. I told him money was tight right now and I didn't currently have renter's
insurance. He said that he'd be sending me a bill and I should pay for it if I don't
want to be sued or charged with assault. He wanted my landlord's information too, but
I wouldn't give it to him. He said he would find it in public records. I gently reminded him that his kid shouldn't have been on my property.
I tried not to seem like a dick, I really do feel terrible the kids got hurt.
Anyways, he wasn't having it.
He was already yelling, but he started cussing me out, so I hung up.
He tried calling me back three more times, and I didn't answer.
I can't afford a lawyer, and I don't even know what
kind I would need. So I figured Reddit was the next best thing. Can he really sue me for this?
I don't think I can afford their hospital bill. What do I do? Is this really an actual crime like
he said? What would my landlord do? Could I be evicted for this? You know, here's the funny thing
about plants. Plants grow everywhere in every single yard on earth, basically.
So there's no reason why those specific peppers need a warning sign because no one says,
hey, don't eat the dandelions.
Hey, don't eat this poisonous bush.
Hey, don't touch this poison ivy that will make you break out in hives.
So to say that these specific peppers of all plants on earth need a warning sign is nuts.
Our next reddit post is from Concern Dad.
My wife passed away on August and my daughter has been having weekly meetings with her school
counselor since the start of the school year. Talking to her has been helpful, as far as
I could tell, and I figured it would be good for her to have an adult female role model
who she could relate to since her mother is gone now.
I have expressed my gratitude to this woman many times before.
As it turns out, on Wednesday night, I grabbed my daughter's phone and found out that she's
been sexting and sending nudes to some guy who is clearly taking advantage of her being
depressed to get what he wants from her.
I talked to my daughter about how this was unacceptable and how she lost her phone privileges and I gave her one of those text and call only cheap phones.
She's a 15 year old freshman and this guy is an 18 year old senior, by the way.
The issue. On Friday, I received a call from my daughter's counselor telling me that she was
going to report me to Child Protective Services on Monday for having invaded my daughter's privacy and impeding her sexual development? What?
Unless I give back my daughter's phone and stopped intruding in her personal life.
Lol, what? Is this something I should be worried about?
I'm already looking up the process to transfer her to another school ASAP,
but can I really
get in trouble for this?
I feel it is absolutely my right as a parent to see who my daughter is texting and what
about, and to shut that down as I see fit.
As a side note, can I somehow mess with this creeper taking advantage of my daughter?
He was completely manipulating my daughter by being all like, I'm so sorry, that must be horrible.
Show me your tits, babe.
I still have the phone and all the texts on it.
I don't want to hand it to the cops because my daughter's nudes are on it, obviously.
Can I delete them and just present the text as proof or do I need to keep the pictures
to build a case against them?
One interesting thing that people are pointing out in the comments is that people who work
at schools are mandated reporters.
So if she really thought that there was abuse going on, she wouldn't negotiate with OP,
she would just report it.
So the fact that she's trying to strong arm OP here means something fishy is going on.
More than likely, she just knows she doesn't have any ground to stand on.
Either way, that counselor needs to get fired.

I'm in Mississippi and I work in a small office.
We have a community fridge.
Around a month ago, someone started to steal people's food.
An apple here, a power bar there, no biggie.
Over time, the thief became more brazen.
I came in once and saw my sandwich with a large bite taken
and then discarded in the trash. So I decided to do something and now I may be in trouble.
I began to write, POISON DO NOT EAT on the outside of my brown paper bag lunch with a
black sharpie. I did this for a few days and food was stolen again. Last week I made my
lunch as normal and loaded the brownie with laxative.
I then wrapped the brownie in paper.
On the paper, I wrote, Poison!
Do not eat!
I put it in the bag, which also had the same written warning applied.
In big, clear, black Sharpie, it said, Poison!
Do not eat!
I left it in the fridge as normal and went about my day.
Sure enough, about four hours later, the emergency medical services arrived.
A co-worker found the brownie, took the bait, and was being taken to the emergency room.
I'm not concerned with keeping my job.
If I get fired, so be it.
I am, however, curious how much trouble I'm likely in, if any.
