Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to R slash off my chest, where OP's boyfriend wets the bed every single night. Our next Reddit post is from Fatal Blonde. Me and my partner have been dating for about just over half a year. I came into the relationship pretty messed up from being abused in my past relationship over the years. My new boyfriend treated me amazingly, but he had a few flaws. The first night my boyfriend stayed over. He didn't tell me about his condition and he wet the bed. He freaked out and cried and told him.
Starting point is 00:00:30 me it was a condition and a lot of things that didn't make sense. He kept going back and forth about how nothing worked. He's in his 20s. He told me he'd been facing it since he was eight, so for months I thought that he was abused. He has pissed the bed almost every single night since, and if it was just his condition, he would have ways to resolve it. Unfortunately, he just sleeps in it. He will wake up about an hour after and just put a towel under him. And if we have no towel, He will use the same towel he peed on to dry himself off with. That's how my dad found out because he left it in the bathroom. We have a massive bed with a master bedroom.
Starting point is 00:01:10 I sleep away from him because I get hot at night and because he's quite bigger than me. I can't crawl over him to get off the bed in the morning, so I scoot down to the bottom and get on with my morning routine. A lot of the time, I don't notice how much he's pissed until he leaves it for me to clean. It got to a point where he left so much pee for me to clean that I stopped and left him to do it himself, which he didn't do. He didn't go to the doctors and didn't get diapers. Once my friend found out, he bought me a ton of cleaning products.
Starting point is 00:01:42 I took the sheet off and the mattress had a massive yellow circle that was mustard yellow and absolutely reeked. That's when the smell of our rooms started to get bad. My nose hurt smelling it and it didn't even smell. like piss. It smelled like moldy cheese and vinegar up close and just a public bathroom when you walk in. I'm sick of it. After my dad found out, he absolutely lost it. He forced him to buy diapers, otherwise he would kick him out, and now he has to replace a $4,000 mattress. My dad, what the hell? My dad said my boyfriend has also pissed all over the floor and walls in the bathroom in the middle of the night and left it. It's gotten to a point where I don't want to be around him or in the
Starting point is 00:02:29 room. He nags at me constantly. He's always jealous, says he has anxious attachment issues. He doesn't let me have the future I want to have and wants to isolate me from the people that I love because they don't like him for his lies and laziness. And when I say laziness, I mean, he wasn't abused as a child, he games 24-7, and he was mommyed since birth. He doesn't clean up after himself, he makes a mess in my house, and I have to clean our room every single day. He has absurdly poor hygiene and hurt me so bad in the first three months of our relationship, but I tried to push through it. He cries to me constantly, wants to talk all the time, wakes me up at random hours of the night crying, and I used to wake up to him trying to go on my phone. When I got a new phone, I changed my password because it got so
Starting point is 00:03:17 invasive I couldn't sleep. I still barely do. And when he feels like he's losing me, he sends me paragraph after paragraph, and I just feel nothing. What do I even say to him? I mean, I care about him. I want the best for him, and I can't say I don't or didn't love him, but what I've said is only the surface of our problems. Okay, I like to think I'm a pretty patient person. It's something my wife praises about me. One of the reasons she fell in love with me because I'm very patient, I'm very patient with her, I'm patient with our daughter. But O.P. has literally a thousand times more patience than I do. This guy's been pissing in her bed next to her for, what, three months straight? And she's like, I don't know how to break up with him. Just kick him out. Throw the disgusting mattress and
Starting point is 00:04:05 him out of your house. What are you waiting for? He's also pissing on the walls. This has to be a fetish thing, right? It's not a medical issue. It can't be. I don't think it's a medical issue because if it was, he would just wear diapers or, you know, do something like he wouldn't drink liquids afternoon so that by the time he got to be. bed all the pee was out of his system or something, but I think he likes sleeping in it. I think he likes peeing everywhere. It's the only thing that can possibly make sense here. I'm amazed also your dad is this patient. If my kid brought in some guy who's games 24-7 and pisses on my walls and my bed, yo, he's out of here. What are you guys waiting on?
Starting point is 00:04:47 Our next Reddit post is from legal importance. I am absolutely losing my mind right now. And I just need to vent before I do something I permanently regret. For the past eight months, my best friend and I had been building a project car in his garage. It started as a completely stripped, beat-up chassis. I'm the one with the mechanical knowledge, so I did 90% of the actual heavy lifting, building the engine, sorting the wiring,
Starting point is 00:05:11 installing the suspension, everything. On top of that, I funded about 80% of the parts because he was short on cash, but promised we would split the profit 50-50 when we flipped it, or just keep it as a track toy. Because it was his house and his garage, we registered the chassis and his name just to make the initial towing and paperwork easier. Huge mistake. Huge. The build is finally finished. It looks incredible, sounds insane and the performance is top tier. Yesterday,
Starting point is 00:05:41 he calls me out of nowhere and tells me a buyer offered him a massive cash deal for it, and he accepted. I was hyped at first, thinking about our payouts. Then he drops the bomb. He's keeping the entire profit because he wants to take his girlfriend on a luxury vacation to Bali next month. He literally told me, well, it's my garage and my name on the paper, so legally it's my car. I'll give you 500 bucks for your trouble. $500? I spent thousands on the turbo setup, the ECU, and hundreds of hours on manual labor. I literally have grease permanently stained under my fingernails from building his vacuble.
Starting point is 00:06:22 I don't even know what to do. Legally, I know that I'm probably screwed because there's no written contract, just text messages. I feel completely betrayed by someone I considered a brother. Then OP posted an update. A few of you suggested that I shouldn't confront him aggressively, but instead text him calmly to try and get him to admit to our 50-50 agreement in writing so I'd have evidence for small claims courts. Well, it worked, better than I could have imagined.
Starting point is 00:06:51 Last night I sent him a text. I kept my emotions completely out of it and wrote, Hey man, I'm trying to stay calm here. I know the registration is in your name, but we spent eight months building this together and explicitly agreed to split the profit 50-50. Dropping 500 bucks on me after I built the engine and funded the turbo setup is completely unfair. He took the bait immediately. He called me twice, but I let it go to voicemail because I wanted everything recorded. When he realized I wasn't answering, he texted back. Bro, plans change. I need the cash for this Bali trip with Jess. Yeah, we said 50-50 at the start, but legally it's my car. Be happy I'm even giving you $500. You don't have a contract anyway, so you can't do anything. He literally admitted to
Starting point is 00:07:41 the agreement while trying to flex that I couldn't stop him. Once I had that screenshot saved and backed up, I sent my final reply. I have the receipts. I have the receipts. seats for every single aftermarket part, bank statements proving I bought them, and now I have your text admitting we agreed to split the profit 50-50. I'm drafting an itemized bill for my labor hours at a standard shop rate. If you don't freeze the sale and give me my fair share, I'm filing a summons for small claims court first thing on Monday. See you there. He hasn't replied since. But his girlfriend just blocked me on Instagram, so I know he's absolutely panicking right now. I'm currently organizing all my receipts and printing out the text thread.
Starting point is 00:08:23 I'll keep you guys posted on whether he folds or if we're actually going to court. But for now, the trap is sprung. It's like that scene from The Incredibles, You caught me monologuing! The dude just couldn't resist gloating. All he had to do was nothing and he could have gotten away with it. Then OP posted another update. Yesterday morning, the pressure finally broke him.
Starting point is 00:08:45 I woke up to five missed calls from his dad. Turns out, his dad saw the text thread on his phone, or my ex-friend cracked under pressure and confessed, I'm not entirely sure. His dad is a really hardworking, honest guy, and he was absolutely mortified by what his son tried to do to me. About an hour later, my ex-friend called me. He sounded completely defeated. No more arrogant flexing, no more legally it's my car attitude. He apologized, though it sounded like his parents forced him to do it. Because of the text trap, he knew he was completely cornered. Instead of trying to fight it or sticking to that insulting $500 offer, he agreed that a 50-50 split wasn't fair since I funded almost everything. He settled on an 80-20 split in my favor to cover the turbo setup, all my parts receipts, and the manual labor hours that I put in. We met up at a local bank a few hours ago. I watched the cashier verify the cash for my 80% share, deposited it straight into my.
Starting point is 00:09:48 my account and walked out. His trip to Bali with Jess is still happening, but it's going to be a lot more budget-friendly now that he isn't funding it with my hard work and parts. As we left the bank, he tried to ask if we were good. I just looked at him and said, we're even on the car, but the friendship is done. Good luck in Bali. Then I walked away and blocked his number. I lost a brother, which hurts, but I kept my money, my dignity, and my peace of mind. I genuinely couldn't have done this without the absolute legends in this subreddit who gave me the legal strategy and courage to stand up for myself. The money's safe in the bank, the toxic weight is out of my life, and this chapter is officially closed. Then OP posted this comments. Looking back at everything,
Starting point is 00:10:34 what's honestly so crazy to me is the contrast of human nature. While someone I called a brother for a decade was busy trying to screw me over, thousands of total strangers on the internet were stepping up to protect me for absolutely nothing in return. It's truly beautiful how people who don't even know my name are willing to give their time, legal advice, and genuine support just to help a stranger stand his ground. You guys showed me more loyalty in 24 hours than he did in 10 years. Thank you all, seriously. O.P., don't forget to also thank the stupidity of your former friend because he really handed you that lawsuit on a silver platter. Hey, buddy of mine, Would you mind texting me all the evidence I need to sue you in court?
Starting point is 00:11:18 Sure thing, moron, here's all the evidence you need. Our next Reddit post is from Dude Over. I got my co-worker fired because she said, Hope this helps to me in a passive-aggressive email. I mean, technically she got herself fired, but I still feel bad. I work in marketing as an art director at a tech and branding company, 50 plus employees fully remote. We recently hired a college graduate whose degree I still don't know what it is.
Starting point is 00:11:45 but she was our associate social media manager, and I rarely spoke to her. Just this past Monday, she took it upon herself to send one of our highest paying clients an AI generated design to inspire ideas for a social media campaign. She didn't consult with any members of the creative team beforehand. Obviously, the generated designs were very impractical, off-brand, and unrealistic to achieve. But the client loved the photorealistic illustration style so much, that they wanted us to now illustrate a campaign for them. In summary, it's going to take maybe 60 plus hours and cause several other clients of ours to be deprioritized to achieve this.
Starting point is 00:12:26 Initially, I assumed she meant well, but I spoke to her privately about why she can't do that. Instead of a mature response, she sent me several links about how AI is the future and said, I think you should read these. I'm surprised someone at your level hasn't. Hope this helps. I crashed out. I immediately spoke to her manager, whom I've known for eight years. And she agreed this woman is not fit for this role, is too impulsive and disrespectful. I was like, wait, we aren't firing her, are we? I just thought she was out of line. Nope, she got fired by 4 p.m. Whoops, if you're reading this, sorry, Kaylee. Also, for context of how risky this client is to displease, they have us on a $150,000, a month retainer. O.P., why feel guilt? She was a bad co-worker. She deserves to be fired. Sometimes people should be fired. That's just the way the world works, man. Our next Reddit post is from Radagast to Green. When I was about 11 and my sister was 9 in the 90s, I found my dad's adult content search history in Internet Explorer. I'd heard about this adult stuff,
Starting point is 00:13:38 like Playboy magazine, right? But never expected my dad to be doing such a thing. It was garden variety search terms, but I was grossed out and really glad that I found it before my mom did because they fought like cats and dogs. I took a step back and thought, teachable moment. I taught my dad to clear his history. I took him aside and said, I saw what you were looking at on the computer. He immediately said, that wasn't me. It must be a virus. I said, well, whatever it was, let me show you how to clear it so that nobody happens to find something like that again. And I showed him how to clear his browsing history. He finally, in a moment of owning it, looked sheepishly at me and said, Did you tell your mom? And I said, of course not. She'd actually kill you. Does your sister know?
Starting point is 00:14:26 Yeah, she was there. He immediately loaded us in the car, took us to the fancy farmer's market with all the little booths of classy local stuff and said, Thanks for not saying anything and being really mature about this. You two girls, have a great time. Get whatever you want. We got two high-end artisanal Amish lemonade with molasseses, a big hunk of cheese, and a bag of kettle corn. We were paid for our silence and we never told a soul. Until now. In the comments, we have this line from Data Advanced. Ha! Reminds me of when I caught my dad looking up Viagra. It got me 20 bucks, lull. You know, this story is surprisingly wholesome, an 11-year-old teaching their dad about how the internet works, and then getting like a fairy tale Disney-esque reward at the end of it,
Starting point is 00:15:14 lemonade and molasses? That was our slash off my chest. And if you like this content, be sure to follow my podcast because I put out new Reddit podcast episodes every single day.
