Our next reddit post is from Lawless Lady.
So I'm a 55 year old woman, and I was having issues with my sciatic nerve and made an appointment
for a massage.
My usual therapist was on vacation, so I had someone new, Sarah, which is a pretty common
name.
She was great and did a great job.
No complaints about her skill.
But I couldn't shake the feeling that I knew her.
She looked familiar, but I couldn't place her.
We did the usual question thing.
Do you live around here?
Where did you go to school, etc.
And I didn't come up with a common denominator because we only went back as far as high school.
I should also explain that she didn't recognize me, nor my name because when I was in school,
I went by my nickname.
And as an adult, I was using my full married name.
So instead of Dee Jones, I was Diane Smith.
So there was no way for her to recognize my name.
When I was in junior high,
there were two girls who were best friends
and absolute bullies to me for some reason.
Their names were Sarah and Donna.
I'd get shoved, hit, punched and worse, and more than once had books knocked out of my
arms.
Teachers never did anything, and my years at school were miserable.
Fortunately, we ended up at different high schools.
Back to my massage.
When the massage was over, I got dressed and went
to pay. That's when I saw the receipt with her last name on it. Sarah Brown, and it all fell into
place. Sarah came out to check on me and hand me a bottle of water and told me to soak in the tub
with Epsom salts. I wasn't going to say anything. It was such a long time ago, but I couldn't help myself. She traumatized me.
So I said, So, Sarah, I just saw your last name in the receipt, and I realized where I know you
from. When you and Donna were terrorizing me in ABC Junior High, did it ever cross your mind that
one day you'd be massaging my ass? Then I told her, you would have known me as Dee Jones back then.
Give my love to Donna.
And I walked out, leaving her with a stunned look on her face.
I know that it was petty, but I couldn't help myself and tell this story to everyone,
lol.
And then down in the comments we have this story from 24Girl.
I got to evict my high school bully when I managed apartments.
Of course, I was grinning the whole time.
Then this reply from Top Committee,
My bully was asking for help on the side of the road.
It wasn't a busy road at all.
He looked really happy to see someone finally stop.
I recognized him right away.
He didn't recognize me.
He asked for help with his car.
I called him by his name and told him to go F himself and left.
I looked at him getting smaller in the rear view and I was laughing my butt off.
Then this story from Scouter.
It wasn't my bully per se, but a bully I knew from school who terrorized a couple of
my friends.
He was the friend bully.
He'd be all buddy buddy to get you to do the stuff he wants you to do or do things to you
and then laugh it off because you're friends.
My friends were scared of him.
I thought that he would seriously kill them or something.
At some point, this bully was living in a small shed at his parents' place some years
ago and I guess it caught fire.
He was fine 100%. His stuff, not so much.
Karma! Wow, there's a ton of stories on this note. Another story. Summer before my freshman year,
I moved and I had a few make-out sessions with a guy who claimed to be single. Come to find out,
he had a girlfriend. As soon as school started, she finds out and made all four years of high school hell.
Fast forward about ten years.
I was promoted to manager at a different community that our company managed, and lo and behold,
Christy was a resident behind on her rent.
I filed eviction, went to court, and got possession since she didn't show up.
The rent was filed, and I got to put her junk on the curb with a constable watching.
Oh it was greatness!
Yet another story from Deleted.
I had the pleasure of giving a thumbs down to someone who bullied me and was looking
for a job in a very nice actuarial firm that I was established with.
She was a total and complete B-word to me in middle school.
Prank calling my house, terrorizing me every chance she had in school.
She and her piece of garbage friend made my 6th and 7th grade school years hell.
When the hiring manager, who was the brother-in-law of my bestie, was out to dinner with us shortly
after she applied and had an interview, he asked me casually, not knowing my history.
So, OP, what do you think of such and such?
My bestie knew the story and was grinning.
I said, well, she bullied me in middle school and made my life a living hell.
I don't think I'd be too comfortable with her working here with me.
Aside from that, bullies are usually sociopathic cowards.
Do we really want that as the face of the company?
She did not get hired.
When she initially came in for the interview, she saw me on site and lost a LOT of the color
in her face.
I played it cool and was friendly and professional.
Karma, no?
Then another story from M&J.
I grew up as one of the few kids of color in my school and was bullied by quite a few
older students.
I was an average sized kid, but had a 7 inch growth spurt after high school.
When I went to grab a drink years after high school, one of the worst bullies came up to
me at a bar and was trying to figure out why I looked familiar.
I asked him if it would help for me to stick my head in the toilet and beg for mercy.
His eyes got bigger at that comment, then bulged out of his head like a cartoon as I
slowly stood up and towered over him.
He said that he would pick up my trash that night if I promised not to throw him in the
lake like he deserved.
Glad to see that he realized he did some harm.
Fear can make you see some things about yourself."
And then this from Lonely Clerk,
"...a guy who was a dick to me in high school parked my car when I got out of it to attend
a post-wedding event at a hotel a few years back. I made sure to look him in the eye and
say a boisterous, HELLO! And this story from Ron Kil Dumbledore. My middle school bully and I both
ended up high school teachers and basketball coaches.
We ended up randomly playing each other in a tournament.
I told my students pre-game that this guy bullied me when we were kids.
They said, we got you coach.
I had to call them off for sportsmanship once we were 30 up before halftime.
Never been prouder of my guys.
And another story from Sibylla.
My bully liked to torture me about being poor when she was so rich. In our early 20s, when
her mom was arrested for embezzling millions from elderly people at the banks she worked
at, I got to turn my bully away from visiting her mom in jail more than once, for different
reasons. Inappropriately dressed, after cutoff, etc. I also got to inform her that the check she sent for her mother's books was returned
NSF, and she had 30 days to pay for it or she'd be arrested.
I wanted her to be arrested so much, but she paid for her hot check.
I did have the satisfaction of saying to her, I guess now we know where your family got
all its money from,
and I'll never forget the look on her smug face.
Man, there's tons of these stories, this is from Camel Holocaust.
One of my bullies came to apply for a job at the place I worked, and I was in charge
of choosing applications.
We had a fairly rigorous interview process where they would have to come in twice in
person to interview and answer questions.
I explained the situation to my boss and he decided to bring the bully in for interviews,
made him do a drug test, the whole run around, just to tell him that they didn't think that
he was a good fit.
The whole time he never once recognized me, or even knew the real reason he was turned
down.
He tried to apply again the next year, and I just laughed
and threw his app directly into the shredder. Be nice to people, you never know who you're
being a butthole to.
Our next reddit post is from RyusOasis. I live in a small neighborhood with maybe 20
total homes. Each home has about 50 feet of road frontage plus 3 car garages and large
driveways, and parking is permitted on both sides of the street.
As such, there's never a reason to park in front of a home that isn't yours unless
there's some sort of event.
Most of the neighbors are friendly and know each other, so in the time I've lived there,
parking has never been an issue.
Until last month.
Last month, a neighbor from the far other end of the development started parking daily
and overnight in the smack dab middle of the development started parking daily, and overnight, in the
smack dab middle of our property's road frontage.
Odd, but maybe she's having work done on her driveway and wants to park away from the
fumes?
I don't know.
Things happen, not a big deal.
But after five nights of this, I'm getting a little fed up.
The yard guys can't cut the grass where her car is located.
Deliveries of large items are postponed because they can't get up our driveway without the
extra turning radius.
So I leave a note on her windshield.
It's a quick note explaining that it'd normally be a non-issue, but we have some
deliveries coming and it would help us if she could move her car back to her home this
week.
No response, but the note is gone the next morning.
The car is still there,
and our other neighbor texts us. It said,
Hey OP, you may want to watch out for me neighbor. She started cussing me out for the note left on
her windshield and said that it was public property so she could park there as much as she wants.
Not cool. But since I don't want to pick a fight, what's there to be done?
The next time she moves her car, I put my car in that space.
This does NOT make her happy, and she spends the next few days flipping off my ring doorbell
from the street and leaving notes on my car that are never threatening but never kind.
Like F you, Aunt Lip-Tard!
Game on!
It didn't take much digging to realize there were regular, unusual out-of-state cars parked
at her actual home, and even less digging to find her home listed on Airbnb, for way
more per night than her entire monthly mortgage.
A few quick calls to county, and wouldn't you know it, Airbnb and short-term rentals
are completely forbidden.
No exceptions in our neighborhood.
On top of that, the county zoning commissioner finds out she's been renting out her home
for almost half a decade, and each rental violation equates to a $250 fine.
You can do the math.
I'm not sure what happened after, but we do know she received a court order of some
sort, and more importantly, she stopped parking in front of our house.
Guess she had to find a job that didn't include flipping people off all day.
Our next reddit post is from SirusFox.
This one happened a few years ago.
Our mail carrier changed, and the new guy, Dave, was an absolute butthole.
He trod on flower b beds and was rude to people.
But the real kicker was Dave would pee in a bottle and if he was in a bad mood, that
bottle would be thrown in someone's garden. If you tell him to throw the bottle in the
trash, he would throw it at you. Dave was the son of the postmaster, Bob, an older guy
of the boys will be boys mindset and best friend with the local sheriff, Bob. An older guy of the boys-will-be-boys mindset, and best friend with the local sheriff,
Steve. If you talk to Bob about his son, you'd get excuses. He's a foster kid, he's had a hard life,
and on and on. If you went to Steve, then it'd be boys-will-be-boys, to be clear, Dave was in his
thirties. Or, postmaster Bob is dealing with it personally. One day in the middle of summer,
the neighborhood kids got to see mailman Dave being his usual sunny self. Seems Dave was being
mean to the kids. The kids were out playing with their water pistols, and one of them had the real
high-power thing which sent the water a good 10 feet or more. And the kid who owned it,
Oren, was a great shot. It's a lovely day, 30 degrees, sunny, and I'm out back putting out dinner.
Suddenly, there's this blood-curdling
scream from Dave, and the whole neighborhood comes running to see what happens.
Turns out Orin had loaded his water
pistol with one of Dave's pee bottles and topped it off with a can of Red Bull.
So now Dave was covered in this disgusting, sticky, pea and sugar mess, which was starting
to stink to high heaven.
One of my neighbors offered to let Dave use her shower.
He ran off to another house, grabbed the hose, and turned it on himself.
So now Dave is sticky, pea soaked, and wet.
He ditched everything in the street and ran off.
Steve and Bob walked the street that afternoon, but of course, we hadn't seen anything.
Bob had the bright idea of asking Oren, who told him exactly what we all thought of Dave
and how he was acting, in the way that only a bright-eyed 12-year-old can.
Bob and Steve cornered Oren's dad.
Is this your son?
Do you know what he did? Without missing a beat, Oren's dad. Is this your son? Do you know what he did?
Without missing a beat, Oren's dad fired back.
Well, Sheriff Steve, don't you always say boys will be boys?
We never saw Dave again.
But Oren's birthday party was huge that year.
God bless that kid!
Our next Reddit post is from oddfreedom.
This happened in 2015 during my first year of teaching in special education in the US.
I don't know if anyone else here works in special education, but if you do, you're
probably familiar with the difficult process of obtaining a one-on-one para for a student.
So I had this kid, Jay.
Jay had some unsafe behaviors as a kindergartener, such as eloping from the school and into the
neighborhood.
It was terrifying to say the least, and a big safety concern.
So I spoke with my supervisor, showed him the data, and he agreed that this student
definitely needed one-on-one support.
My supervisor, Mr. Carlisle, worked with me for a couple of weeks on the safety net process,
getting a one-on-one.
It was a lot of loops and jumps saying the right thing in very specific ways, but I got
it completed.
I sent it to Mr. Carlisle for the last final review and was met with silence.
I emailed him after a day because we're all busy in this field, no worries.
But more silence.
I called his office and left a voicemail with his secretary.
More silence.
I tried to get a hold of him for two weeks with growing worry because the deadline was
approaching, but I never heard back from him.
After the due date passed, he finally messaged me and said that since I didn't reach out
to him with the final copy, the one-on-one wasn't approved.
I was pissed.
So I gathered all the copies of the emails, the phone calls, every attempt I made to reach
out to him and sent it to his boss, Mr. Bailey, head of special education services.
I also included Mr. Carlyle's last email.
A couple of days later, Mr. Carlyle sent me a formal letter of apology through our district
mailing system.
Mr. Bailey granted me an extension and filed the
paperwork himself, and also granted me an emergency one-on-one while the paperwork processed.
At the end of the year, Mr. Carlisle was fired from his position. I doubt it was just me,
but I'm sure that my receipts had something to do with his removal as a special education supervisor.
Like this comment from Desert Boots.
I'd say Mr. Carlisle was specially educated out of the system.
Well done!
