Welcome to R-Slaughty Revenge, where OP scams a scammer. Our next Reddit post is from
outrageous candy. I got scammed last week by a guy on Craigslist. He sold me what I thought was a good
working washing machine. He stayed with me for the first five minutes to make sure it worked well enough
before I paid him $400 cash. Then it stopped halfway through the rent cycle. The thing didn't work.
So I message him, hey, the washer isn't working. What gives? I look up videos and spend two hours
trying to fix it myself. The machine is a piece of garbage. No response.
I'm pissed that I got scammed.
But then I find more of his Craigslist postings.
This guy must have a warehouse of broken appliances waiting to scam people with.
I sent him an email on one of my burner email accounts asking if he can deliver two
hunky old dryers to me.
I'll pay extra.
He responds immediately.
I tell him I'm about 40 miles away.
Can he do it?
Absolutely.
I tell him to meet me in a parking lot at 3 p.m.
Peak rush hour.
The next day goes by and he asks.
if we're still on. Yeah, 250 p.m. rolls along, and he says he's almost there. I tell him I'm running late.
I get an email around 3.10 p.m. Where are you? I tell him, I'm sorry. The traffic is terrible.
I'm about 20 minutes out. 335. Almost here? I say, I'm so, so sorry again. I ask if he can pull the
big old hunky dryers out of his car so we can load them up faster. I'm almost there. He says he will.
3.45 p.m. Here yet? His message just kept coming in. He sent me one last sweet note around 4.30 p.m.
saying he was leaving now. Thanks for wasting his time. Hitting back into sweet, sweet traffic.
I lost 400 bucks, but man, it felt good to waste a scammer's time. Why stop there, O.B. Sounds like you found a new hobby.
You can try the same stunt every week. Our next Reddit post is from Ruffian. I was at a charity auction for a very
niche world this past weekend. And the mood at these events is always jovial, brash, loud, and fun.
Everyone's having a good time. There's a live auction with a simultaneous silent auction that ends a few
minutes after the live one. It's a positive, almost celebratory atmosphere. Well, one of the well-known
figures in this little world was bidding on what seemed like half the silent auction items. We'll call him
Steve. He always upped bids by just the minimum of $1, and it felt like he was
impossibly everywhere.
Items were on tables lining a large
banquet hall, so not just
one central location. There was
one fun-themed home decor item
I loved, and had been on a few
times that I was keeping an eye on.
When I went to update my bid at one point,
a woman was standing in front of it with Steve
standing next to him. She immediately
upped my bed, then
stood with her hands on the table in front
of it, blocking it almost like a dog
guarding a toy. Okay,
whatever. I played
said something like, ah, you really want it, eh?
Man, I see your name everywhere.
It's like, just give up if you see Steve's name.
Steve said, yeah, I have three people out there watching the tables and bidding for me.
Okay, this is blatantly against the rules.
But I'm a nobody compared to this guy in this world, so whatever.
I ask, should I even bother to try bidding on this item anymore?
Steve said condescendingly,
You can, but I'll just outbid you.
Okay, douche, I see you.
Whatever, you can have this cool thing if your ego needs it that badly.
I walked away.
At the end of the live auction, they announced that it was the final 60 seconds for bids,
and I noticed Steve was not near this cool item,
so I sped over to the table and excitedly placed my bets.
Then I realized that that woman was one of Steve's assigned bidders,
and she immediately outbid me.
During those 30-ish seconds, as she wrote the bid, I asked,
Oh, you're bidding for Steve, eh?
Yeah.
She looked apologetic and embarrassed.
Figuring we should at least make this sporting, I asked,
well, do you have a top bid?
No, he just told me to be sure to win it.
Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool.
Well, she happened to finish writing her bid
and set the paper down just as the auctioneer started counting down the last 10 seconds.
I immediately snatched up the paper and placed the winning bid with one second to spare,
shamelessly throwing my 50-year-old arms up in the air with a woo-hoo of victory.
He may outbid me, but I outplayed him.
I felt a little bad for the woman not doing what he'd impressed upon her to do,
but suck it, Steve, it's mine.
Oh, and the item looks awesome in my house.
Our next credit post is from Various Try.
When I, a 22-year-old woman, was 19,
I entered a relationship with a woman I'll call Sierra, who was 25 at the time.
After dating for a few months, she asked me if I wanted to move in with her, which I did.
Everything seemed so nice for the first six months we were together,
until something took a drastic turn and she started acting like a completely different person.
Long story short, the relationship became a full-on domestic abuse case.
By the end of the relationship, she'd forced me to quit my job and rely solely on her.
I was malnourished because she would rarely let me eat actual sustainable food, if at all.
She would get mad if I tried to eat anything without her permission.
She guilted me into doing things I didn't want to do, and that unfortunately included sexual things.
And her jokes about hitting me suddenly became real.
So after multiple attempts to get out, I was finally able to about a year after the relationship began.
I ran away in the middle of the night before she could stop me.
Since then, I went to therapy and turned my life around for the better, and I'm doing much better now.
But I was recently reminded of the revenge that I decided to do to her and wanted to share because
I thought it was funny how petty it was in comparison to everything she did to me.
A few weeks after getting out, I realized I still had access to all of her personal information
and passwords via a shared note. I could have used this info to steal her money,
docks her, send endless spam mail, lock her out of her accounts, or anything to just make her life
harder. Instead, I thought the best course of action was to log in to her Pokemon Go account that
she was addicted to and steal her shiny Alola Nine-Tales that she worked her butt off to get,
and told me she would never give me, even though she knew that Alola Nine Tails is my favorite
Pokemon. Also, before I left, I made sure to stop by her bookshelf and grab her copy of the
first edition of her favorite book, A Court of Mist and Fury, and meticulously ripped out her
favorite chapter. First edition sell for $250 to $500 now, and I know she doesn't make enough to pay
that much to get it back. What's really sad, though, is the fact that doing those little petty things
is what I knew would hit her the hardest. I knew that me not loving her anymore was going to shake
her to her core. So I needed another way to inconvenience her, and I really hope I did. Our next Reddit
post is from The Red Queen Theory. A long time ago, I worked as a receptionist at a law firm where I took in
transferred calls, greeted guests, and led them to the correct briefing rooms. I just moved to that
town, so I didn't know the area well. One day, this man with a distinct voice called, already sounding
irritated before I asked how I could help him, and he wanted me to tell him directions from a town
over that I'd never been to, to our office. I politely told him that I wasn't familiar with that area
offhand, but if he could hold a minute, I would look up directions on my computer for him. He literally
screamed into my ear,
Typical stupid woman
can't even tell directions,
and hung up on me.
Oh well, I thought, that was rude,
and then forgot about it.
About 20 minutes later,
a guy came blustering through the door
and, in the same distinct voice,
demanded that I tell him the way
to the interview room as he was already
late for an interview.
I knew that it was the same guy I talked to before.
He had the exact same voice.
I calmly said,
I'm sorry, sir, but I'm
just a typical woman and I can't tell directions. He turned beat red and just stood there for a minute.
I could see he knew exactly what had happened and that he was talking to the same person he yelled at earlier.
He stomped off down one of the hallways and obviously didn't get the job because I never saw him again.
Our next Reddit post is from Spacer in a game. A few years ago, I was watching Inside Out 2 in theaters.
Sitting right in front of me were these two women and a young girl, maybe seven to eight years.
years old. Throughout the movie, they kept talking and the two women wouldn't stop using their phones.
One of the women used hers on full brightness. It was so incredibly disruptive. I happened to have a
pack of gummy worms and didn't want to waste any full worms on her. So after realizing at some
point I couldn't take it anymore, I bit off half of one worm and threw the other half at her
and didn't miss. She turned around and looked in my direction, but I just kept looking straight at the
screen as if nothing happened. But then she still wouldn't stop using her phone, so a few minutes later
I bit off half of another gummy worm and threw the other half at her. That really got her angry.
She turned around, looked right at me and said, stop it! Again, I just kept looking at the screen as if it
wasn't me who threw it. Then she turned to the woman and little girl and said,
He's throwing gummy worms at me. The three of them turned around to look at me, then looked around to
see who else could have thrown it. They started murmuring to each other, then the little girl
pointed at me, at least I think it was me, and said, well, it definitely wasn't that guy.
The three of them turned back around to watch the movie, and the woman finally dimmed her phone,
and eventually stopped using it several minutes later. They also shut up for the rest of the movie.
The woman also left for a few minutes, presumably to tell the staff on me, but nothing came of it.
So for future reference, if you ever see someone talking or using their phone in a movie theater,
just throw popcorn or candy at them. They won't know who did it. As the opposite side of this
OP, I remember when I was pretty young, maybe I don't even know, 8, 9, 10, I guess. I was in a movie
theater and someone behind me was spitting hard candy at me. Well, just it happened once. They
spit it at me and it actually went, it hit the back of my neck and then slid down into my shirt.
And even now, all these years later, I still remember that quite clearly.
Our next Reddit post is from I Use This at Work. I had made a mistake. I made a mistake.
and made two orders online when the page loaded weird and didn't appear to process my payment,
even though it had. My payee canceled one of the payments as soon as I notified them.
That money has been on hold for a week, over five business days now.
I called the bank and I was told the payee was the one who had the hold on the money until
July 31st and there was nothing the bank could do.
I called the payee. They were super nice.
They confirmed they'd canceled the original payment and had no idea where the July 31st date
would come from. I attempted to call the bank back. I called four times before the front desk took
my call. They transferred me to the lady who originally told me that she could do nothing. That lady
put me right through to voicemail. I looked up that lady's number on the bank website,
called and I was put through to voicemail again. I sat for a moment, then the decision was made.
I went to the bank's website and copied the email of every single person who sounded the least
bit important, i.e. management and account supervisors, along with the people who had been ignoring
my calls and telling me there was nothing they could do. Fifteen people in total. I explained my situation
and included a screenshot of my outgoing calls. That email was sent at 1136 a.m. The lady who
originally told me there was nothing she could do emailed me at 1145 to tell me, we just went on
your account again and the system let us remove the hold, so you're all good now.
I'm slowly cutting ties with this bank.
Can't wait until I'm done with them entirely.
This is the easiest hack on planet Earth.
If you come up to someone and you say, hey, I've got a problem, they don't care.
Why would they care?
But if you come up to someone and you say, hey, I've got a problem and I'm making it your problem now, then it will get solved immediately.
Our next Reddit post is from Collects Too Much.
I used to own a commercial embroidery business.
We got a call one day where a guy asked for a special brand of garments that we got
from our wholesale supplier. Then they place an order worth about $2,000 but didn't want them decorated.
It was weird. He said that he would have payment to me the next day. FedEx delivers an overnight
envelope with a business check made out to my business. I called the company on the check and
talked to their CFO. He was very clear that his company did not sign that check, which meant
I was dealing with a scammer trying to get free goods. I got an email from the scammer asking
if I got the check. He then said that he would have a courier pick up the boxes the next day. So I fill
empty boxes with garbage from home. I include dirty diapers, used cat litter, and more. Four boxes
between home, my neighbor's garbage from the street, and I topped them off with garbage from the shop.
I get everything taped up and wait. A FedEx truck shows up to pick up the boxes. I asked to see the
pickup details and they have a tracking number. They took the boxes. I tracked the boxes the next day and they
were overnight shipped to Kenya. I'm sure somebody's credit card paid for a crazy shipping charge.
I never heard from them again, which is a shame because I really hope to have them get angry about
the garbage. That was our slash petty revenge. And if you like this content, be sure to follow my
