Starting point is 00:01:24 her Karen neighbor. Our next Reddit post is from Motherhood. So this happened at the the last apartment complex that I lived in. My significant other and I were renting a ground floor unit at a really nice apartment complex. I wouldn't say that it was a luxury apartment or anything, but our ground floor unit had a little patio off the back that led out into a really nice courtyard area with hammocks, a walking path, an outdoor fireplace, a seating area, etc. A lot of people walk their dogs out there or let their kids play out in the grass, including us. We have a one-year-old cane corso. We got her when we'd been living in the unit for about two and and a half months, and she was only eight weeks at the time. She's a really good dog, and we trained her
Starting point is 00:02:03 well. We could let her out to go potty, and she'd come right back, even if there were distractions, people, or dogs out. Then we'd go pick her poop up right away if she pooped. This lady and her kid moved in on the ground floor in our building, two units down from us. No biggie. We ran into her one day carrying groceries, and my significant other held open the door for her. She seemed kind of Karen-ish, but was polite and her kid, probably 10, didn't look up from his phone. Whatever, that's pretty typical of kids these days. They also had a dog, a little black and white fluffy thing, super cute, but not trained very well. After about two weeks or so, we realized that there were dog turds in the grass right off our patio. We found out the hard way because my boyfriend
Starting point is 00:02:48 stepped in it the first time. Luckily, he wasn't barefoot. They were clearly not our dog's turds, as one, we always picked up her poop right after she went. And two, they were very obviously from a smaller dog. Not our 70-pound puppy. We'd been in this apartment for about seven months at this point, and we'd never had an issue with this, so we figured that it was the entitled mother's little dog. I wrote her a polite note that basically was like, hey neighbor, we noticed that some of your dog's poops aren't being picked up and are right off our patio. Per the pet agreement that we all have to sign, we all need to be picking up our own dog's poop each time they go. I'm sure it was an accident and you just didn't notice. So if you could please make sure to do that going forward,
Starting point is 00:03:33 we'd appreciate it. Signed your neighbors in unit such and such. She wasn't home, so I slipped it under the door and went back to my apartment. A couple hours later, this lady is banging on my door and gets really angry with me, insist that it couldn't have been her dog, and how dare I assume? I felt really bad and I apologized immediately, said I didn't mean to offend her, and it must have been someone else. She told me to never bother her with crap like that again and stormed off. I was like, okay? Not three days later, I was sitting on my patio with a book enjoying the cool weather when I see their little dog run out their back door. No one with it, and it comes over to me. I say hello to the dog, and then it took a dump right off my patio, ran back home, and scratch.
Starting point is 00:04:21 the door to be let in. I saw her kid slide the door open enough to let the dog in, and then close it again without coming outside to pick up the poop. I was annoyed because here I saw it with my own eyes that it was their dog and no one was even watching it when it was outside. So I grabbed a poop bag, picked up the poop, wrote another less polite note about her kid neglecting to watch the dog, or come to check if it had pooped and pick up after it. And I dropped the poop bag and the note on their patio right by the front door, then went back to my reading. The entitled mother was quicker to come by this time and stomped right up to me, waving the note around. She stated that her kid was just a kid
Starting point is 00:05:02 and probably forgot to check. I said, I didn't care. Her kid was old enough to stand outside for three minutes and come pick up dog poop. She said, well, there's no poop bags or trash cans on this side of the building and she didn't feel comfortable making her kid walk all the way around the building for that. The next part is my own fault in hindsight. I suggested she put a trash can like mine on her patio and leave their own poop bags handy like we do for our dog. She eyed our stuff, huffed some more, rolled her eyes, refused to do anything about the poop, and walked off. At this point, I was super annoyed. I stalked my patio door for the next couple of days as much as I could, just waiting. And sure enough, on day two in the evening, when I was about to give up, I see the
Starting point is 00:05:49 the puppy run outside towards my patio. I whipped out my phone, took some pictures of the dog outside alone, which is not allowed, and the dog pooping, and then took another picture an hour later of the poop still there and time stamped all of them. Then I sent an email to the apartment office people who were always pretty nice, and they responded quickly that they would give her a warning about it. And sure enough, this lady comes back again to get mad and yell at me about how petty I was to report them to the office, and now they had a $150 fine for not picking up their dog poop. I told her that I tried to be nice about it with her twice before, and it was her own fault at that point for not abiding by the terms of the pet agreement that we all had to sign.
Starting point is 00:06:35 She went on about how she's a single mom, and she works during the day, and her precious baby can't be expected to pick up after their dog. I told her that a 10-year-old was plenty old enough to pick up after their dog, and if they weren't responsible enough, then maybe the kid shouldn't be letting the dog out at all. And she should be the one to do it. Or maybe whoever is home with him should be looking after it. She got angry, told me I had no idea how to be a single mom, that her mom stays with him during the day and shouldn't be expected to look after her kid and her dog. And she stomped off again. I expected to hear more about it, but I didn't. The ironic part is that I am a single mom.
Starting point is 00:07:16 Over the next couple of weeks, we didn't find any more dog turds off our patio, but we did notice our poop bags were depleting, and our trash can was filling up much more quickly than usual. I had my suspicions and wanted to test it. Sure enough, the same evening my boyfriend set it up, I see the kid walk onto our patio, take a poop bag, walk out of frame, and then come back to throw it in our trash can. Okay, now I'm pissed, but also not trying to fight this lady. or her kid. So I moved the poop bags to the inside door handle. It's a glass sliding door, so you can still see them from the outside, but we always lock our sliding door. Next morning,
Starting point is 00:07:57 I hear someone knocking on my patio back door, and I go to see her kid standing there looking annoyed. I didn't open the door. I just spoke loudly enough to ask him what he needed. He demanded a poop bag for his dog's poop. I said, I'm sorry, but these are our poop bags for our dog, and they weren't free for anyone else to use. The apartment provides poop bags in a dispenser near the trash can on the other side of the building. The kids started demanding a poop bag, saying his mom told him he could use ours, slapping his hands on the glass a few times, trying to scare me, I guess. Yeah, I'm so terrified of a 10-year-old boy. And finally, screaming at me that he's telling his mother on me. I said, go ahead, I'll tell her the same thing. Sure enough, a few minutes later,
Starting point is 00:08:46 as mom is standing on my patio, also demanding a poop bag for her dog's poop. I denied her a bag and asked her to please step off the patio as she was making me feel unsafe and uncomfortable. She told me I was a brady child. I'm 24. And she demanded I let her use my poop bags as I'd already told her she could before. I said, no, I told you to get some yourself and do what I do. Keep them close by and put your own trash can on your own patio. Not use the bags that I buy, with my own money for my own dog and then fill up my tiny trash can with your dog's poop. I pointed out that she could use a plastic shopping bag if she didn't want to buy her own poop bags, or she could use the bags the complex provided on the other side of the building.
Starting point is 00:09:30 She kept going off on me, and I finally told her that if she didn't leave my patio, I would call the cops as she was harassing me. She acted like she was going to call my bluff, but then my boyfriend got home and walked up behind me to ask what was going on, and she ended up dragging her kid away. Again, leaving the poop in the grass off my patio. So, once she was gone, I took another time-stamped picture of the dog poop. Downloaded the footage from the security camera of her kids stealing my poop bags and throwing them in my trash can, and the footage from them that morning yelling at me and demanding my bags and my denying them, and I emailed all of it to the apartment management. I told them that she made me feel unsafe and uncomfortable in my own
Starting point is 00:10:14 home, that she and her child felt entitled to come onto my patio and take my belongings. I also went outside, picked up her dog's poop, looked in the trash can on my patio, and pulled out the bags with her dog's poop, which were significantly smaller than my dog's poops, as I'm sure any dog owner could tell the difference in poops between a 12-pound dog and a 70-pound dog. I opened all the bags and dumped the poops straight onto her patio right outside the door. On Monday, I heard from the office lady who said that she would take care of it. By Friday, there was a moving truck and the lady and her kid were moving out. Pretty sure they were evicted, or at the very least urged to move before a formal eviction process was initiated.
Starting point is 00:11:00 After talking to some of the other, much friendlier neighbors, it turns out that we weren't the only ones who had been complaining about her. They'd only lived in that complex for like two months before they made so many enemies they were kicked out. Sometimes I think I should feel bad for playing a part in them getting evicted, but honestly, I can't bring myself to feel guilty about it. It's not my fault she was a lazy, entitled B-word who couldn't even be bothered to get a shopping bag to pick up her dog's poo. I never heard from her about the turds that I dropped on her patio, but I like to think she stepped in them without looking, and she knew better than to come complain to me about it. Man, my dog Hugo really likes to
Starting point is 00:11:39 stagger his poops. He'll poop, but he'll save some poop for later. So I'm walking him and he poops and I pick up a bag of poop and then we'll keep walking and then, you know, five minutes later he'll poop again. So I have to pick up another bag. Sometimes this damn dog will poop like three or four times during a single walking session, which isn't a big deal on its own, except for those annoying days when I go out and I'm like, oh, I've got dog poop bags with me. I'm totally fine. But it's a day where I only have, I don't know, two poop bags and Hugo has four poops. So on those last two poops, I look like an inconsiderate neighbor.
Starting point is 00:12:15 And I have to try to remember where he pooped in the neighborhood so I can go back and get the bags and go find the poop and pick him up again. Dogs are such a pain in the butt. They're lucky they're so damn cute, or I wouldn't put up with all this nonsense. Also, I'd like to point out that typically formal eviction processes take at least a month minimum. So my guess is the apartment complex said,
Starting point is 00:12:36 either we can evict you, which will take a month, or you can leave immediately, in which case we'll give you back your security deposit or part of it or something like that, which seems much more likely. So she probably wasn't evicted, but she was definitely kicked out. Our next Reddit post is from Ike. Circa 2014, I worked for a large movie theater chain in a small Midwestern city. The job was pretty awesome outside of the terrible pay and essentially no way to move up. I like to think that I'm good at my job, and I try my hardest no matter where I work. In this particular situation, I was one of the most tenured employees at the theater,
Starting point is 00:13:11 save for two other folks who had worked their part-time on the side and had full-time jobs elsewhere. So, for the sake of this story, I need to tell you about Jane, who started working for the theater two months before me. They worked elsewhere as a supervisor and was looking to move up at the theater. Right after I started, one of the managers left to work at a different theater, and the supervisor moved up. We had two managers, one general manager, and a supervisor, which is a manager in training. Jane somehow got the supervisor position, even though there was another person who essentially was promised the position due to the continued service at the theater for almost eight years. There were rumors that Jane was sleeping with the general manager when she started, and this situation got those rumors going again. I didn't care too much, because why would I? I'm but a lowly peon in the corporate machine.
Starting point is 00:14:01 Anyway, Jane moved up, and the tenured crew member left the company because they got screwed over. Once Jane moved up, we had a whole meeting about her moving up and how the theater focuses on professionalism and ensuring no favoritism was happening, specifically referencing how normal crew members shouldn't fraternize outside of work with management. Jane didn't really listen, though. She continued to hang out with the crew members who were mostly underage and would do various things like go drinking with minors, taking them to bars and buying them drinks, or simply buying alcohol at a store and letting them drink at her house. as well as smoke weed with them and post pictures on Instagram. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention Jane had a secret Instagram where she would post pictures of themselves with their friends from the theater. Jane chose Instagram because neither her family nor her boyfriend used Instagram,
Starting point is 00:14:51 so no one would know, right? Even more damning was her relationship with a 19-year-old who worked at that theater. Jane had a boyfriend whom she'd been with for years and honestly supported her for all intents and purposes. Not only did Jane have a 19-year-old. year old sidepiece, but she was also messing around with a 17-year-old. I even caught them messing around in the break room one time. She essentially threatened me with my job if I told anyone. Honestly, she could have just told me to please be quiet and I would have just judged her silently.
Starting point is 00:15:23 Fast forward about a year or so, and another one of the managers left for a new job. Jane obviously moved up and someone else took the supervisor position. Now, I won't go into too much detail, but despite my tenure and performance, I was looked over for the promotion. A newer crew member, who was really good friends with Jane, got the position over me. This was confirmed by the other manager who let me know that Jane was definitely in good with the general manager, who ultimately made the final decision. That being said, I was beginning to sour, and making minimum wage for years at a job that couldn't care about me or my efforts and my continued performance. That being said, I was preparing for an exit.
Starting point is 00:16:05 I didn't like Jane, and the fact that I didn't like her or play along with her BS infuriated her. So much to the point where she made my life hell at the theater. When she was a supervisor, she didn't have much power. But when she became manager, she began giving me terrible shifts, convincing other people that I was weird and to avoid me. I mean, I am weird, but not like avoid me weird. Threatening me physically, threatening my job, her and her game. of stupid morons also slashed my tires. Beyond that, she also made fun of my girlfriend, now wife,
Starting point is 00:16:38 for having an invisible illness, multiple sclerosis. She also made my wife's life hell because she had a disability and had some minor limitations. I put in my two weeks notice with the general manager and asked that he also keep it on the down low, since Jane and her posse would mess with me. I told him that I wanted to tell everyone myself, so to keep it quiet. Jane decided to get one last attack on me. She started a rumor that I was going to just call out of all my shift for the two weeks before my new job started. With her last act of revenge in motion, the general manager approached me and let me know that he wouldn't be scheduling me the last two weeks. I tried to explain to him that the rumors were BS that I needed to work because it would be my only source of income. I told him
Starting point is 00:17:24 Jane started the rumor and I started to tell him all the other stuff as well. He, of course, didn't believe me and told me that Jane wouldn't do what I was saying she would do, so it was her word versus mine. But Jane didn't stop there. She escalated again by having one of her cronies call my new job and tell them I got fired. I was luckily able to talk down my new boss by letting him know that this wasn't the case, that I put in my two weeks and everything else. But that was the last straw with Jane. I was determined to get revenge. Rule number one of living a secret life and having a secret Instagram is to not add everybody and their mother to the page. I had a friend of a friend who also didn't like Jane. I'll call him Joe. He and Jane were also
Starting point is 00:18:11 part of the same group at the theater until they had a small falling out. I talked to Joe and we discussed my issues with Jane over lunch that I bought him. Food is the key to all revenge plots. Once we ate and discussed my problems, I asked for his help. I needed access to her Instagram. You know, the secret one, showing her hanging out with underage employees, drinking alcohol and smoking weed with them, and also some mushy posts about her 19-year-old boyfriend, as well as some moderately racy photos with her 17-year-old fling. With very little discussion, he gave me full access. I took screenshots of essentially everything. We're talking two to three years worth of illicit and moderately illegal activity. More than enough to get her
Starting point is 00:18:56 fired, and to raise some questions in her relationship. I printed the screenshots on the most high quality paper that CVS had to offer. I purchased two yellow padded envelopes and filled them both with copies of all the posts, as well as a flash drive with additional copies. I included a note in each one for the appropriate parties. One of the envelopes I taped to the back door of the theater. I put the GM's name on the envelope. I wrote that one of their managers had a secret Instagram with a lot of damning evidence of not only favoritism, but also fraternizing with underage employees amongst other wrongdoings. In the letter, I also requested her immediate termination, or the information would be provided to the district manager as well as our corporate office.
Starting point is 00:19:43 The second folder was delivered to Jane's home by Joe. With both folders delivered, it was only a matter of time. Before I knew it, I was receiving death threats from Jane's gang. All of them saying that they knew that they knew that it was. It was me and that Jane was going to come after me, that she never did anything to deserve this. I don't know, what about statutory... Is that not deserving of this? It didn't matter to me, of course. I no longer worked there and would hopefully never have to deal with them again. From what I heard, she was taken into the main office of the theater and the GM let her have it. He ultimately had to fire her because there was very clear proof that she was in direct violation of many of the rules and conditions of her employment.
Starting point is 00:20:25 Also, her boyfriend, with proof in hand, kicked her out of his home. Later, I heard that Jane moved farther north and hasn't held down a solid job since. Her family didn't want much to do with her once everything came out with her cheating on her boyfriend. Also, the part about fooling around with a 17-year-old tends not to sit well. In the end, I started my new job without fail and moved on from that place. Haven't seen much of anyone from there since. Hey man, you should have added a third envelope to hand off to the police. It's still statutory r-that was our slash pro revenge.
