Welcome to R-slash relationships, where OP's boyfriend literally gives him buckets of puke.
Our next Reddit post is from Throwaway Deadbid.
For some context, my partner and I have been together for two years.
I'm a 22-year-old guy, and he's a 25-year-old guy.
In the time that we've been together, he's had flare-ups multiple times. At first, it was easy for me.
I'd do anything he needed to make him feel better. Rub your back? Sure. Run to the store for ice cream and Gatorade.
Okay. Let you take over my apartment and run up my water bill by taking six to 12 showers a day? What? As long as you feel better.
I loved him so much that I would put up with anything. But when he's sick, he's a completely different person.
He'll wake me up repeatedly getting in and out of bed, even when I sleep in the guest room,
leave trash cans full of puke around the house and water all over the bathroom floors.
He'll sometimes be sick for over a week and leave these messes until he feels normal again.
This causes mold and terrible smells, which I've talked to him about in the past,
after waking up to a foot full of puke.
I think what OP means here is a trash can that has a solid foot of puke inside of it,
but that's a guess. It's a little bit ambiguous.
Nothing changed.
When we moved in together, I asked him for two things,
separate bathrooms and an extra bedroom so that when he's sick, I can still sleep.
This is important because I work in a dangerous trade and pay for most of our expenses.
He got sick this past weekend and didn't respect that agreement at all.
My bathroom and his were soaked in water.
There were wet towels piled in random places around the house.
He took over any area in the house that you could,
lie down in, including my room. And once the sheets in our bed were thoroughly soaked and pulled off
the bed, he fell asleep in my bed. I was frustrated with this, but ultimately let it go without saying
anything. The next morning, I went to his aunt's house to work on her car. We started talking about
his illness casually, things like, is he eating or is he sleeping all right? When I mentioned that I was
worried about having to call off Monday if I couldn't get any sleep. She then started ranting about how
stressful it was having him live with her for a short time. She revealed that when he lived with her,
he did the same things, even asking to sleep in her bed with her, until she talked with him. It made me
realize how ridiculous everything was, and it upset me that he was willing to clean up after himself
in other people's homes, but not mine. Then on Monday, I came home to find a maintenance worker and our
landlady standing outside the door. His constant showers and pools of water had caused a significant
leak in the apartment below us. They were livid. The landlady ripped into me about being a
considerate neighbor and asked me to make sure my boyfriend understood he was causing damage to the
property. All of this after a 10-hour shift, mind you. I'm frustrated to say the least. I love him so
much, but I simply can't handle the mental and financial burden right now. I'm so angry. I want to
break up with him, but I feel like it would make me a terrible person. At this point, I'm just ranting.
I really need some advice.
The issue here isn't that you have a sick boyfriend.
I mean, sometimes your partner gets sick, you got to care for them, whatever.
The problem is that your boyfriend is inconsiderate and treats you like a housemate, essentially.
The fact that he sleeps in his bed and gets his own bed wet and then goes to sleep in your bed,
the separate bed that you specifically asks for, sounds to me like a power play.
Like he's saying, oh, you can't do anything about this, I'll sleep where I want to sleep, deal with it.
Also, pro tip, when you're drying off in the bathroom, just stay in the shower.
Don't get out of the shower, doesn't get the floor all wet, you don't have to worry about slipping as much,
and it keeps your bathroom floor nice and dry.

My husband is 43, and I'm a 42-year-old woman.
We've been married for about 10 years, and I just discovered something that has me really upset.
I'm trying to figure out if my reaction is reasonable, or if I'm making this into a bigger deal than it is.
I recently got a notification about a change to my credit score, so I decided to look through my credit report.
I know I should be better about checking it regularly, but I haven't been.
When I looked, I noticed a lot of Klarna purchases that I definitely did not make.
I contacted Klarna because I had no idea what they were, and apparently there's another account
connected to my information, but using my husband's email address.
From what I can see on my credit report, there appears to be around $4,000.
and credit being used through these purchases.
I can't actually see or access the account because it's under his email address,
so I don't know the full details or exactly how long this has been going on.
I'm not seeing any missed payments on my credit report, as far as I can tell,
but since I can't see the actual account, I don't know anything beyond that.
My husband never asked me if he could use my information or credit for this,
and he never told me that he was doing it.
I don't know whether he was intentionally keeping it for me,
or simply didn't think he needed to tell me, and I haven't confronted him about it yet.
There's also some history that makes this particularly upsetting for me.
We had to completely separate our finances because he has a major problem controlling his spending.
When we shared an account, he would spend money out of it to the point that I would have trouble paying our bills.
He also doesn't have access to any of my credit cards anymore because he would max them out.
Separating our finances was supposed to solve that problem.
So discovering that he's apparently been using my information and credit without my knowledge
feels like a huge breach of trust, regardless of whether he was actively trying to hide it from me.
At the same time, I keep second-guessing myself, because from what I can currently see,
he hasn't damaged my credit by missing payments.
Part of me keeps thinking, if he's paying it, am I being too upset about this?
But then I come back to the fact that we separated our finances specifically because of his spending,
and he used my credit without asking me.
I haven't confronted him yet because I want to understand exactly what I'm dealing with first.
Everyone in the comments is calling this exactly what it is,
which is financial infidelity,
and if anything, O.P. is underreacting here.
This is definitely divorce territory, and by the way, illegal.
Our next Reddit post is from Casual J.
My wife and I have young kids, and her parents are financially very well off,
Because of that, we've been fortunate enough to go on family vacations with them fairly regularly.
The problem is that my wife and I also have had a rough financial year and have acquired debt together.
And now, financially, we're not in a great position and have given up more agency.
I've reached the point where I feel like I need to get a new job so I can help pay off the debt
and provide more of financial stability for our family.
It's hard, but I'm willing to make that sacrifice.
What's really bothering me emotionally is knowing that my wife and kids,
will likely continue going on these two-week vacations with her parents without me,
potentially three to four times a year,
while I'm at home working to pay off the debt and support the family.
I know her parents aren't doing anything wrong by wanting to take their daughter and grandchildren on vacation,
and I don't resent my wife or kids for having experiences that I can't participate in.
But honestly, it makes me really sad.
I'm struggling with the idea that I end up working a new job specifically
to improve our family's financial situation, while I miss out on these experiences with my family.
Part of me wonders whether it's reasonable to say that if I'm making this move for our finances,
we should do vacations that we can all afford together.
Am I being unreasonable or selfish for feeling this way?
How would you handle this situation with your spouse?
O.P., I'm very curious to know how your wife feels about this,
because if my parents took me and my daughter on vacation while my wife stayed,
I mean, that's just, it's kind of unfair. Why can't the in-laws include a vacation with
you in there? Or cut a vacation so that everyone can go or something. Our next Reddit post is from
Unban Raines. Okay, so I'm a 41-year-old woman, and I was at an event in my little town,
a blues festival. My stepdad owns the establishment, so it's safe to say I know a lot of people
that were there. I'm sitting at a table with my mother, my stepdad, and my boyfriend of five years,
who's 45. And another guy who always...
always hangs out with us at these events. The other guy is also 25 years older than me.
Anyways, this other guy, Jim, was talking with us and he was joking around, saying that my boyfriend
should shit or get off the pot, saying that he should be lucky to have me and basically asking me
why I was wasting my time with him, telling me I could do way better and I deserve better. So,
this was all when my boyfriend was in the bathroom. I told Jim to tell my boyfriend all of this.
So Jim tells my boyfriend, you know how lucky you are to have her. You should have married her by now.
Let me remind you that the conversation was very lighthearted and no one was acting too serious about anything.
Here's the problem. When Jim said that to my boyfriend, my boyfriend straight up without the slightest hesitation and with extra seriousness was like, and I quote,
Nope, that's a hard no, 100%. In front of everyone. At this point, I'm thinking he's not serious. But,
But then I turned to talk to him in private and I'm like, what just happened? I'm so embarrassed by what you just said. He continues to say stupid things to me, but it takes a lot to make me mad, so I blow most of it off. But then I tell him, you really just ruined a lot of what we have. And his response was, what did we have?
Five effing years, which I know isn't a lifetime, but come the F on. I was totally embarrassed by what he said. And I don't think I can get over either one of these things.
Sorry for being so long, but I should leave him, right?
Another red flag.
In five years, he's never said, I love you to me.
O-P. Geez, okay.
Um, I don't know how to say this without sounding insulting.
You're 41?
I thought for sure, by this point, you'd have enough understanding of human relationships and romance
that five years of no, I love you means this guy's just, he's just looking for sex, right?
I mean, let's just call it what it is.
He doesn't want to marry you.
He's not going to marry you.
marry you, he doesn't even seem to like you that much?
The top comment, that's not your boyfriend, that's just a man you know.
Our next Reddit post is from Throwaway Razaz.
I'm a 28-year-old guy, and my soon-to-be ex-wife, who's 28, cheated and got pregnant with
another man's baby.
And I'm having a hard time maintaining a civil relationship with her in the aftermath.
Where my ex and I live, because we'll still legally be married when her baby is born,
I'll be listed as the father without having to sign the birth certificate, or even be present for the signing of the birth certificate.
There's nothing I can do to stop this either. She could choose to leave me off of it, but she already told me that she'll put me on the birth certificate because she wants both of her children raised together, and for both to have a father or not.
Now, I want to be clear, I'm not asking for any legal advice whatsoever. I've already retained a lawyer, and I'll be working with them.
This is purely relationship advice.
I do not want this child.
I am not willing to be the father of her a fair baby.
There's also no way I can divorce her before the birth.
Her lies and everything else meant that I found out too late and I'm screwed in that regard.
It makes me hate her with a vengeance.
She wants to pawn this baby off on me when I didn't get her pregnant.
She knew from day one I didn't get her pregnant too,
and she chose to keep quiet because she knew that he'd run and he did.
She tried to make me sound like a monster to neighbors, friends, and family members
because I told her I wouldn't do a single thing for her baby,
and because I already told our child that the baby and mom's tummy is not my baby.
Even without this baby, we have to co-parent our child,
and I don't know how badly she'll screw all this up with her insistence for me to be the father.
I have to bite my tongue in her presence when we exchange.
our child because I so badly want to tell her what a disgusting piece of trash she is.
I've literally made my mouth bleed trying to hold myself back with her.
She's hoping that she'll have screwed me legally so that I have to take both kids when her
youngest is born, or I don't see our child.
Knowing this fills me with rage and hatred.
But I have to keep reminding myself that I love my child, DNA confirmed by the way,
and my child needs me to not hate their mother.
in their presence. So I'm stuck, and I don't know what to do about this. I'm not sure if there's any
advice anyone can offer on this, but I wanted to find out anyways. Unfortunately, O.P., I think there's
no real solution here. The best thing to do is to just minimize contact, keep things simple, factual,
professional. I'll pick up the child at X and X time, and that's about it. Unfortunately, you are
tethered to this horrible woman for the rest of your life. Our next credit post is from Circuit Surgeon.
I'm a 24-year-old guy, and I currently live in Iowa with my fiancé who's 25.
We've been together for four and a half years.
I currently make 120K and she makes 60K.
I recently got offered a job in North Dakota for $300,000 per year, and I have one week to decide.
I'm currently in favor of moving there, but she's hesitant of me accepting it.
I'm seeking advice on how to handle this.
I also want to make decisions as a team, and for that reason,
I'm not wanting to simply overrule my partner. At the same time, I believe that this is too big of an
opportunity to turn down and that it would be a mistake to let it pass. She started her first job as an
architect six months ago and loves it. She's not yet at the point where she can ask to work remote,
as she's not experienced enough or licensed yet. Her parents moved to Iowa from Columbia two years ago.
They moved here because of us. They work also, but could easily find comparable jobs if they moved.
My fiancé grew up in Bogota, a city with 8 million people. She significantly prefers living in cities, but has learned to like Iowa due to our setup, her job, and her parents. A bunch of our friends from college also live here. North Dakota is even more rural, and she hates the idea of moving there. In three to five years, the new company will require me to move to a new state, which is not yet known. I would have a similar stint there, and the cycle would repeats. My current company is likely going to
counter with a 140K base. I'm open to her moving with me to North Dakota or her staying in Iowa
with me visiting regularly. The new company offers the chance to take a four-day weekend and travel
home twice a month. My fiance is not in favor of either of these options. Our plan has always been
to start having kids in about five years. The money is super duper tempting, I will be honest, but you
got to keep in mind what's the point of having money. The point of money is to make you happy,
to give you stability, to buy the life that you want to live.
Is this the life that you and your fiancee want to live?
It sounds like she's super, super resistant to it.
So if it's going to break up the relationship with the love of your life, it's not worth it.
That was our slash relationships.
