Starting point is 00:00:05 Let's do this! Thank you so much for tuning into today's story. Don't forget to rate and follow so you never miss out on all the Ryer's Readers' fun. Before we get into the story, do you want to know a fun fact? Did you know? Astronauts love to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in space? Making a P.B&J in space is a lot different than making one here on Earth. Instead of bread, astronauts use tortillas, and squeezable jelly makes things easier.
Starting point is 00:00:42 They also use Velcro and a lot of tape to keep jars and utensils from floating away. Pretty cool, huh? Okay, story time. Today, we have a very special Ryers Readers' request from Esther. Esther is four years old. and requested a perfectly messed up story by Patrick McDonald. I hope you enjoy this story, Esther. Let's do this.
Starting point is 00:01:16 This is Louis's story. Once upon a time, little Louis was skipping merrily along. He sang. For in his heart, Louis knew everything was just, Hey! Hold on! What's that? Sniff, sniff, lick, lick.
Starting point is 00:01:43 A jelly stain? How did that get there? This isn't right. Who would eat a jelly sandwich while reading my book? Plop. Jelly and peanut butter? The chunky kind? Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, someone's fingerprints are all over this.
Starting point is 00:02:08 Oh, no. What's next? Orange juice. My story is getting all messed up. We need to show some respect here. Books are important. They teach us stuff and they inspire us. Now can I please get on with my story?
Starting point is 00:02:33 Thank you. Okay. From the top. Once upon a time, little Louie went skipping merrily along. Tra la la la la la. You have got to be kidding. This is awful. Quick, get a paper towel.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Rub, rub, rub. Careful. Careful. This is the worst thing ever. What am I going to do? Once upon a time. Stop. Forget it.
Starting point is 00:03:10 My story is ruined. It's all over. I'm just in a messy old book that will end up in some garage sale. A book no one will ever want, read, or love. I give up. Go on without me. This is Louis's story. Who cares? Once upon a time, little Louis went skipping merrily along. Tra la la la la, he sang, oh, life was much simpler back then.
Starting point is 00:03:58 For in his heart, Louis knew everything was just what, just what? Fine. Wow. Everything is fine. I'm still here, you're still reading, and it is a pretty good story. Mess is and all. So, come on, let's finish this. This is Louis's story.
Starting point is 00:04:29 I love it, and nothing's going to stop me. Don't forget to stick around to see if you can answer today's paying attention question. Before you go, do you think you can answer today's today's? paying attention question. What kind of juice was spilled on Louis' story? If your answer was orange juice, you did it! Great job!
Starting point is 00:05:22 You sure were paying attention. I hope you enjoyed that story. I wonder what we're going to read next. Bye, Esther!
