A big hug and a high five to all the Ryer's readers listeners.
Welcome to your April bonus episode.
We have a lot of stuff to get into today.
But before we get started, are you ready for the silly joke of the day?
Which day of the year do monkeys like best?
The first of April.
We're back.
Happy April! There are always reasons to celebrate, and this month I found a whole bunch of fun,
small holidays we can all take part in to add some more celebrations to the month of April.
Mark your calendars because here are a few of the special days coming up that you can enjoy.
April 1st is April Fool's Day.
April 2nd is Children's Book Day
April 4th is school librarian day
April 8th is draw a picture of a bird day
April 10th is National Siblings Day
April 14th is Dolphin Day
April 21st is Kindergarten Day
and April 26th is pretzel day.
What fun holidays will you be celebrating?
Of course I will be celebrating Children's Book Day,
and I'm really looking forward to pretzel day
since I love a big, warm, soft pretzel!
Yum!
I would love to know if you participate in any of these fun holidays this month.
Don't forget to draw a really cool,
picture of a bird on the 8th and give your brother or sister a big hug on the 10th for
Siblings Day.
However you celebrate, I hope this April is filled with fun.
And we're back.
At the beginning of every month, I'm going to give you all a monthly challenge.
Are you ready to hear your challenge for the month of April?
The weather should be starting to warm up a bit.
and you might even find a few great days to get out of the house and enjoy some fresh air.
So, for this month's challenge, I challenge all of you to go on an April adventure.
I would love all the Ryer's Reader's explorers to get out and find some super cool things in nature.
For this challenge, create an adventure notebook and document your findings.
Can you find 10 green leaves?
How many eggorns can you find?
Were you lucky enough to see a butterfly or maybe a super cool bird?
Grab your exploring hats, your notebooks, and a pencil, and go on an outdoor adventure.
I would love to hear all about the interesting things you have observed during the month of April.
Good luck and I hope you all become a monthly challenge champion.
We're back. Can you guess what time it is? If you guessed story time, you did it! Today we are going to read
Dream with Sesame Street by Susanna Leonard Hill. A dream can be big or a dream can be small. What matters the most
is to have dreams at all. Ambitious, creative, outrageous, concrete, or concrete, or
close to your heart, something simple and sweet.
A dream can be near or a dream can be far.
It can even push you to reach for the stars.
Wherever you go, way up to new heights.
If you keep trying, your dreams will take flight.
Though beginning seems hard with no ending in sight,
each story begins with the first word you write.
A single note starts the most beautiful song,
One step gets your dream up and moving along.
When things don't work out in just the right ways,
remember you grow when you get through bad days.
Don't be scared of a monster hiding on the next page.
Keep learning, keep dreaming, no matter your age.
Since one person's trash is another one's treasure,
your dreams are not subject to anyone's measure.
anyone's measure. Even if others may not think it's the best, the road to success is your own special
quest. It's perfectly fine to do things your own way. However you do them, it's always okay.
How boring if everyone did things the same. So imagine, have fun, and play your own game.
Sometimes big ideas don't go as you planned.
Giant leaps lead to stumbles and falls when you land.
But pick yourself up, try again the next day.
Get back on that stage.
Everything's A-OK.
A wand isn't needed to make dreams come true.
The magic you need is already in you.
Forget about fairy dust, potions and spells.
you've got all you need to succeed and excel.
If your dream is too big to complete on your own,
teamwork is better than working alone.
You can always ask good friends for advice,
and working together sure does feel nice.
If you're worried about making a lot of mistakes
and wondering whether you have what it takes,
remember, you don't need a superhero's cape,
Just believe in yourself and your dreams will take shape.
You're sure to have days when you can't try a smile.
Look on the sweet side of life for a while.
Cookies and milk sweep the gray clouds away
and bring you right back to a bright, sunny day.
Dreams you will hold very close to your heart,
but others are better when friends can take part.
If your dream seems as if it will never come true,
Keep in mind you're surrounded by those who love you.
You're amazing and smart in all that you do.
Count your blessings for all that is given to you.
Make every day count to achieve something new.
Every day is a chance for a dream to come true.
Although you work hard towards your dreams every day,
make sure you take time out to giggle and play.
Be happy.
Really make a funny face.
Reaching your dreams is not some big race.
When one dream is realized, the next can shine through.
Pushing you forward to try something new.
Never stop dreaming whatever you do.
Here's wishing that all of your dreams will come true.
The end.
This month, I have an extra special Craft Corner for all
the Ryers rock stars who made it all the way to the end of this episode. In keeping with this month's
monthly challenge, I have a matching craft to go along with your April adventures. If you are
interested, have your grown-up help you create a nature bracelet. Okay, so it is super easy and
super fun. All you need to do is create a bracelet by wrapping a
a piece of tape around your wrist with the sticky side facing out. The thicker the tape,
the more space you will have to add to your nature bracelet. As you go on your April
adventures, you can stick some of the things you find to your bracelet. Flower petals,
leaves, tiny twigs, feathers, whatever your heart desires, as long as it sticks. And if you're
not super cool with the idea of making a bracelet and wearing your treasures, you can always cover
a piece of paper with double-sided tape and create your own nature canvas. The possibilities
are endless. I hope you have fun with this month's challenge, and if you create an adventure
masterpiece, I would love to see it. Thank you for joining me. I had so much fun on this bonus
episode and I hope you did too. Bye friends!
