Before we get into the story, do you want to know a fun fact?
Did you know that oxpeckers are a type of bird that love to sit on top of large animals,
like zebras, hippos, giraffes, rhinos, cattle?
The oxpecker will eat small bugs it finds on the animal it is sitting on.
It will also keep a lookout for danger.
If the oxpecker detects a threat from another animal coming,
It will let the animal it is sitting on know so that they can leave and find safety.
Pretty cool, huh?
Okay, story time.

It'll be a great time, said Norman from next door.
We can dance.

Jim danced and danced.
Everyone on the dance floor was having a great time.
Except Jim.
And then?
It got worse.
Isn't this the best?
chirped Oxpecker.
Oh, said Jim.
This is not the best.
It's the worst.
I don't like dancing.
The other animals stared in amazement.
Who ever heard of someone who doesn't like dancing?
Asked Oxpecker.
Shulie, said the water buffalo.
Don't like.

always too loud for my taste I'm going home Jim said and he turned to go
and bumped smack into Norman.
You're not leaving, are you? asked Porcupine.
No one at this party wants to dance, said Jim, but we don't like dancing.
It's not for everyone, Norman agreed.
We'll have too much food, said Porcupine sadly.
Oh, Porcupine, we didn't mean to upset you.
Jim paused.
Wait, there's food at this party?
And indeed, there was lots of wonderful food.
Fruit bowls, pineapple pudding, maggot salad, fresh meat, old meat, surprise eggs, bananas,
seed dumplings, honey, flour cake, bark jerky, fly pot pie,
grass and more bananas.
And plenty of games too.
Swing along.
Puddle splash off.
Bobbing four mangoes.
Shake that tree.
And tag.
And so they stayed at the party.
Jim enjoyed the wonderful food.
He laughed with his friends.
He even played a game or two.
