do this. A big hug and a high five to all the Ryers readers listeners. Welcome to your July
bonus episode. We have a lot of stuff to get into today. But before we get started, are you ready
for the silly joke of the day? How do pandas stay cool in July? They use bear conditioning.
And we're back. Happy July. There are
always reasons to celebrate and this month I found a whole bunch of fun small holidays we can
all take part in to add some celebrations to the month of July mark your calendars because
here are a few of the special days coming up that you can enjoy July 1st is creative ice cream
flavors day July 4th is Independence Day if you live in the United States July 7th
is Chocolate Day. It is also Father, Daughter, Take a Walk Together Day. July 8th is Video Games Day.
July 14th is Shark Awareness Day. July 20th is Space Exploration Day. July 24th is Cousins Day.
July 26th is Aunt and Uncle Day. It is also the opening day of the summer 2020.
24 Olympics. July 28th is Parents' Day. What fun holidays will you be celebrating? There are so many
yummy holidays to celebrate this month, to tell you the truth. Almost every day in the month of July
is celebrating some sort of ice cream, pie, or delicious treat. So make sure you enjoy your favorite
dessert this month. I think Shark Awareness Day on the 14th might be a super cool
reason to read some shark books or learn some new fun facts about sharks and don't forget to give
your parents an extra hug and tell them how much you appreciate all they do for you on the 28th
however you celebrate i hope your july is filled with fun and we're back at the beginning of every
month i'm going to give you all a monthly challenge are you ready to hear your challenge for the
month of July. For this month's challenge, I challenge you to create a bookmark for every story you read
in the month of July. For example, if I just finished a Pete the Cat book, I could create a bookmark
with a blue cat wearing white shoes on it. Or maybe, after reading Gabby's dollhouse, I could make a
bookmark with all the different Gabby cats on it. Now, making your very own bookmark,
can be super fun and super easy. All you need to do is cut out paper into rectangle strips. Make sure you
ask your grown-up to help with the scissors if you need. Then grab some crayons or markers or maybe
some glitter and glue. Wherever your creativity brings you, let your imagination fly. I suggest you
cut out a bunch of bookmark rectangles so that when you finish a book, you can grab a
rectangle strip and start creating. How many bookmarks do you think you will have by the end of July?
You might find that you have created a small bookmark art exhibit. Good luck and I hope you all become a monthly challenge champion.
And we're back. Can you guess what time it is? If you guessed story time, you did it!
Today we are going to read
The Monster at the End of This Book
Starring Lovable Furry Old Grover by John Stone.
The Monster at the End of This Book
This is a very dull page.
What is on the next page?
What did that say?
On the first page, what did that say?
Did that say there will be a monster
at the end of this book?
It did.
Oh, I am so scared of monsters.
Listen, I have an idea.
If you do not turn any pages, we will never get to the end of this book.
And that is good, because there is a monster at the end of this book.
So, please, do not turn the page.
You turned the page.
Maybe you do not understand.
You see, turning pages will bring us to the end of this book,
and there is a monster at the end of this book.
But this will stop you from turning pages.
See?
I am tying the pages together so you cannot...
You turned another page!
You do not know what you are doing to me!
Now, stop turning pages!
There, I Grover am nailing this page to the next one
so that you will not be able to turn it,
and we will not get any closer to the monster at the end of this book.
All right, all right, all right!
Do you know that every time you turn another page,
you not only get us closer to the monster at the end of this book,
but you make a terrible mess?
This will stop you from turning pages.
A heavy, thick, solid, strong brick wall!
I would just like to see you try to turn this page.
Do you know that you are very strong?
The next page is the end of this book, and there is a monster at the end of this book.
Oh, I am so scared.
Please, do not turn the page.
Please, please, please, please!
Well, look at that.
This is the end of the book, and the only one here is me.
I, lovable, furry old Grover.
I am the monster at the end of this book, and you were so scared.
The end.
I told you and told you there was nothing to be afraid of.
Oh, I am so embarrassed.
Thank you for joining me.
I had so much fun on this bonus episode, and I hope you did too.
Don't forget to work on your monthly challenge and become a monthly challenge champion.
Bye, friends.
