Ryers Readers - Knuffle Bunny

Trixie brings her very favorite friend on an errand with her Daddy. Will all go well, or will there be a huge catastrophe!?

Before we get into the story, do you want to know a fun fact? Did you know that the word Canuffel is actually a Dutch word that means to snuggle or hug? Now, Mo Willems, the author of the book we are reading today, says that you can pronounce the word however you like, Canuffel or Nuffle. But for today, we are going to say the word canuffle, because that's how Mo Willems himself pronounces it. That works, right? Okay, cool. Today, we have a very special Ryer's Reader's request from Leah in Maryland, USA.

Leah requested to hear Canuffle Bunny by Mo Willems. I hope you enjoy this story, Leah. Let's do this. Not long ago, before she could even speak words, Trixie went on an errand with her daddy. Trixie and her daddy went down the block. through the park, past the school, and into the laundromat. Trixie helped her daddy put the laundry into the machine. She even got to put the money into the machine. Then they left.

A block or so later, Trixie realized something. Trixie turned to her daddy and said, Agle-flaggle-clabble. That's right, Trixie, replied her daddy. We're going home. Oh, said Trixie again. Blaggle-plabble. Wumpy-flappy.

Please don't get fussy, said her daddy. Well, she had no choice. Trixie bawled. She went boneless. She did everything she could to show how unhappy she was. By the time they got home, her daddy was unhappy, too.

As soon as Trixie's mommy opened the door, she asked, Where's Canuffel Bunny? The whole family ran down the block, and they ran through the park, and they zoomed past the school and into the laundromat. Trixie's daddy looked for Canuffel bunny and he looked and he looked and he looked but canuffle bunny was nowhere to be found so

trixie's daddy decided to look harder until he and those were the first words tricksy ever said the end don't forget Don't forget to stick around to see if you can answer today's paying attention question.
