Let's do this!
Thank you so much for tuning into today's story!
Don't forget to rate and follow so you never miss out on all the Ryers' readers' fun.
Before we get into the story, do you want to know a fun fact?
Did you know that both boy and girl walruses grow long tusks?
Tusks are big, strong teeth that the walruses use, kind of like ski poles, to dig into the
ground and ice to help themselves lift out of the ocean. They also use their tusks to break
through the ice from below to open breathing holes while they swim. Pretty cool, huh? Okay, story time.
Today, we have a very special Ryers Readers request from 7-year-old Clara and 4-year-old
Lily Mae from Brisbane, Australia. Clara and Lily May requested
to hear My Dad is Awesome by Bluey and Bingo. I hope you enjoy this story, girls. Let's do this.
Hi, I'm Bluey and I'd like to tell you about my awesome dad. He's my dad too. Yes, I know Bingo.
So where was I? Oh yes, my dad is awesome because he comes up with funny games. And he does
stuff for us, like make birthday cakes. I love my dad because he drops us off at school. You mean he
does daddy drop-offs. Sometimes dad is a little bit annoying, like when I need to ask a mama
question and dad pretends to be mom. Because all he talks about is how good dad is, and we don't
like it. We get him back because dad doesn't like being woken up early in the morning, or
when we make him late for work.
Ha ha!
It's still my turn, bingo.
Okay, fine, but be quick
because the readers would much rather listen to me.
Sometimes he pretends to be Daddy Robot
who goes out of control.
Or a wild peacock
who won't do what he's told.
Or a walrus who tries to go toilet on the rug.
Or a noisy neighbor.
Or a big, stinky,
baboon.
Hi, I'm Bingo, and I'd like to tell you that Bluey is hogging the whole book, and it's my turn to
speak.
Hey, Bingo, it's my turn still.
No, it's not.
Let me have a turn.
So, Dad is smart.
But we always outsmart him in the end.
He knows the answers to all the questions, but sometimes he forgets stuff.
We love copying Dad and not copying him.
He takes us exploring on adventures and lets us make him better.
Hey Bingo, you're hogging it now.
No, I'm not.
The readers would much rather listen to me, wouldn't you?
So, anyway, where were we?
Ah yes, I like my dad because he takes me to the market.
it and we go to the creek with my friends. My dad is always there to help us, like when I learned
how to ride my bike with only two wheels, and when I found a sick bird under a tree. Now let me tell
you what my dad loves. He loves barbecues, playing footy, and laughing with his mates. And while he
loves playing with us, he also likes reading the newspaper by himself. But he loves mom the most.
My dad is strong, but we are stronger. Sometimes dad plays too rough, or teases us, or he's too
busy to play. This could make us feel sad, but he always says sorry in the end. I love my
dad because he is awesome. Bluey, you already said that. I know, Bingo. He'll do anything for us,
because he loves us. And we love him. The end. Don't forget to stick around to see if you can
answer today's paying attention question. Before you go, do you think you can answer today's
paying attention question? Sometimes, Bluey and Bingo's dad,
likes to read by himself.
What does he like to read?
If your answer was, the newspaper?
You did it! Great job!
You sure were paying attention.
I hope you enjoyed that story.
I wonder what we're going to read next.
Bye, Clara.
Bye, Lily Mae.
