Let's do this! Thank you so much for tuning into today's story. Don't forget to rate and follow, so you never miss out on all the ryer's readers fun.
Before we get into the story, do you want to know a fun fact?
Did you know that pickles are actually cucumbers that have been soaked in a mix of vinegar, water, and salt?
In the United States alone, each person munches on about nine.
pounds of pickles every year. We sure do love pickles over here. But maybe not as much as the ancient
Egyptian queen Cleopatra, who thought pickles made her more beautiful, so she made sure to eat them all the
time as part of her normal diet. Pretty cool, huh? Okay, story time. Today we are going to read,
The Giggles Are Coming by Christopher Eliopoulos this year.
It was our first day of school.
My best friend Noodles and I were going to be in the same class.
We put our backpacks in our cubbies, tried out the art supplies, and met a new friend.
I like your hat.
I like yours.
I'm Ruby.
Then it happened.
Our new teacher, Miss Terry, started telling us about herself.
I don't like pickles, but I do like cucumbers.
And I said it.
Pickle butts.
Oh no! They're coming!
Who's coming?
The giggles are coming!
The giggles!
It was too late.
They had us surrounded!
So we tried to ignore them.
Pickle but...
We tried to hide from them.
Pickle butts.
We covered our eyes.
We covered our ears.
It was no use.
The giggles tickled us.
We couldn't resist them.
I started to giggle, then noodles would giggle, and Ruby would giggle, then I would giggle some more.
Then noodles would giggle some more, and Ruby would giggle some more.
Even though she was smiling, Miss Terry wasn't having it.
Let's settle down now, please.
Then, out of nowhere, a big gaffa hit noodles in the back.
I tried to keep noodles from laughing.
We were going to get in trouble.
But it was too late.
Noodles, Ruby, and I couldn't help ourselves as the chuckles shook their chuckle butts.
When we looked up at Miss Terry, a giant laugh bowled us all.
over. We're going to have so much fun this year.
The end. Don't forget to stick around to see if you can answer today's paying attention question.
Before you go, do you think you can answer today's paying attention question?
Miss Terry does not like pickles. What vegetable does she like?
If your answer was cucumbers? You did it, great.
Great job! You sure were paying attention! I hope you enjoyed that story! I wonder what we're going to read next!
