Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to sad boys podcast about feelings and other things also. I'm Jarvis. I'm Jordan. Oh, I didn't know if I introduced No, now you can't Star Wars one that you did Yeah, I did a book about capica and then before that I think I said hello We're just describing Dave Filoni's writer's room. A guy comes in and he's like, what about Bongo Freak? And he goes,
Starting point is 00:00:30 do you got a wiki wogo? Bongo Freak is like the guy who has the high scores at that Bongo game, the arcade. He's the ultimate Donkey Konga player. Yeah dude, it's like all nines, Bongo Freak. He goes around down to every machine. And he fucking to the high score I want to give a shout out to um on Instagram NCR rifleman
Starting point is 00:00:50 Mm-hmm we went to that severance bingo a little while back was in an arcade and inside arcade the back room going nuts Jarvis you left before I talked to him left. Yeah, I was super nice dude. So Ty camera What I was you got reintegrated and you know, that's right I had a like a very businessy meeting before this and we did pod that and then that yeah and then Anastasia Said to me that went really well and I was like, oh Cool, like that was my any dude. I blacked out. I don't know what the hell I said in there Yeah, you look a nosebleed confusion. Yeah that there is a guy seeing you it jogged my memory for some reason You're talking about you with you're talking about Donkey Kong bonkers at the arcade guy playing time crisis. He's dancing while he does it Amazing there's a full-blown performance and he also gets the high score at time
Starting point is 00:01:40 Yeah, he brings holsters we Like always having fun solo and then found out a crowd gathered. Yeah. And it's not only that he's just really good at the game and a little bit showy. He does like we walked up and then it was clear like he's doing a full performance to attract people. It's essentially like I would say it's like honestly doing like a show on the street or something where it's just like I'm gonna do this and whoever comes up Sure, but when he noticed we were there. He was just you know he was it was like a dance It was actually beautiful Responds when I dress up in all chrome and sit at the Dance Dance Revolution
Starting point is 00:02:21 But this that video doesn't even do it we have several angles from when we were filming with his permission. And he is... He's doing exceptionally well at the game. But the way he described it was that he hits every arcade in town in a night. He does like a Saturday run. Hits sounds like he's doing a heist. A heist of the highscores. A heist scores. I said the high scores a heist scores jar jar
Starting point is 00:02:49 Rank on screen yeah, I'm working on it. I'm workshopping over here. I think that was I think Jar Jar Banks is maybe second Hey the force May the force be with you and my leg is asleep That's awesome. I hate it so much you ever have have your leg fall asleep and you're like at a urinal What? Yeah, I think it was like maybe I don't know what occurred but it was like maybe I stood up too fast or I don't know But maybe I locked my knee or to the bathroom
Starting point is 00:03:22 You're too fast on the walk to the bathroom. You're too fast on the walk to the bathroom. I don't know. I literally... Standing straight in a urinal, no. That's a thing that can happen, because it happened to me. I don't know what caused it. I used the toilet, realized I need to pee. So I went to the urinal.
Starting point is 00:03:34 And so then my legs started falling asleep somehow. And then I was like falling down, but I had to catch myself. Doesn't it feel like every now and then sometimes, and maybe this is just a getting older experience, and then I had to catch myself. Doesn't it feel like every now and then sometimes, and maybe this is just a getting older experience, but sometimes a really, really basic issue like that will happen with your body and you're going like, so we just don't, we can't fix this?
Starting point is 00:03:55 This is just, I'm human, I'm fallible, and I'm dying. My leg can fall asleep, it just can happen. If you experience a symptom that happens and then stops happening good luck You're now going to the doctor describing a dream They're like okay, so you're fine now, and I'm like yeah, but like when this thing goes down shit is bad I was like drunk driving, but I didn't hit anyone. It's like okay
Starting point is 00:04:21 Well when you hit someone while driving come on in But I didn't hit anyone. It's like okay. Well when you hit someone while driving come on in You for something like that is that not not if you're good at it. I feel like in many stories of like Abuse and shit like that there will be a victim or would be victim who is like gone to the cops or tried to go through the proper Processes and then the cops are like, well, we can't do anything until something horrific happens. I think about that Dahmer one all the time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:50 And he was like, hey, he was confused. And then Dahmer was like, no, this is just my friend where he hurt himself, and I'm going to bring him back inside. And the cops are like, OK. The cops follow the same rationale as an esports player, like, OK, whatever the least amount of work I have to do is. I probably should have read up on that before I spoke with that authority
Starting point is 00:05:07 though I don't remember maybe that's I know somebody's gonna hit and be like that's what actually people think happened but it was actually something very different so did you think like a bit closer to cop one step closer to being um I think I think I looked more like a cop with the haircut and no mustache that I had before Weirdly true, I think I don't know how it's true. I think it's contemporary cop when we think of cop aesthetic I think we jump to 80s modern cop is operator aviators like locked here Yeah, Chris Kyle t-shirt. Yeah, But it also feels like you have lived a life that is running in the opposite direction of cop,
Starting point is 00:05:49 so I don't even make the association. Well, you're running from the cop. Running in the opposite direction. I would describe the way I looked in 2018 as a guy who's maybe thinking about joining the police academy and is out wearing the shirt his girlfriend got him from H&M that he did not pick out himself. That was my vibe and I was choosing to look like that
Starting point is 00:06:15 and I did not have a girlfriend to pick out a shirt for me. And not now, I still pick up my clothes. I feel like even my, I'm not saying like complimenting my style too much but compared to before it's much better I was going to I was gonna say you made like I don't know kind of very conscientious effort It seems like years ago at this point. I think it was specifically just I mean I always cared about that stuff but then I think it was Becoming older and then also just dating Chrissy and just kind of getting a vibe for like you put a certain pair of pants on
Starting point is 00:06:44 You're like a ooh It's like okay noted. That's going in the burning collection throwing up again. These are probably the wrong ones to wear You got a spreadsheet. That's like the ooh clothes, and that's like how many oohs Okay, it's more of an mmm, but could it be a mmm or a mmm? Just easy walking around happy. Why are you recording me? She's just easy walking around. How are you recording me? Compiling the data like GoPro on my That the new version of that is those fucking Facebook glasses oh
Starting point is 00:07:27 The meta glasses the I think there is I'm so surprised that like people aren't talking about it more I was seeing yeah videos on Twitter or on Instagram that are interactions with strangers Yes, and my first thought for the last couple of weeks has been like because I feel like they just popped up way more We're like, why is this person not looking at the camera and then you realize like oh my god It's just normal now to post shit that you are like illegally recording with your glasses. Yes, there's a proliferation of this amongst the on the street prankster community of which I am acquainted.
Starting point is 00:07:57 And even like one time, like somebody went viral doing this because the women that he talked to posted TikToks telling their side of the story. And then you see the dude in his selfies and he's wearing the glasses. And it was only then that I realized that he was like just doing a fucking tricking everyone. There's like pickup artists content and like people even like you'll see it'll be like
Starting point is 00:08:24 a positive interaction with a stranger. And a lot of people I think just won't Think about it too much because they just think they're seeing something captured on camera Yeah, doesn't it feel as though like so at one point in time a lot of those guys In any kind of like POV media be it like pre vine even just like hey What would so would you ever cheat on your boyfriend and And also will they mow you five bucks? He'd say, definitely yes. And then we'll yell at you and permanently scar the understanding and brains of 15 year olds across the globe. That, at that time, their defense was always like, okay, well it's a prank, it's fake.
Starting point is 00:08:55 Then they kind of took on the sovereign citizen vibe of people that do the actual, like carrying the camera, going into a business and being a problem, arguing like, Hey, let's free speech. Still, I don't know, making a gesture to morality, being like, well, actually I'm right. And now it's just like, well, no, who cares? Yeah. I'll do, I know, I don't care if it's wrong.
Starting point is 00:09:18 Well, I'm making money. The world's burning. But I want the money. I'm going viral, what do you mean? That is an impossible argument, like, fuck, he's right., look back at like science fiction talking about a surveillance state and it's like cameras everywhere And it's like now I didn't know the version of a surveillance state was gonna be like a guy walking up in big thick glasses Being like how much money should I make for you to date them? Like give me an answer that's gonna make a bunch of kids mad McDonald's or thought daughter
Starting point is 00:09:43 Like give me an answer that's gonna make a bunch of kids mad McDonald's or thought daughter 15 year olds watching it on tik-tok like well, I make no money My allowance is 20 bucks one time because of the 80 20 women rules speaking of Surveillance two things be actually speaking of putting shit on your face and surveillance, I have two things. One is what is the deal with the smile you're on camera signs? Why are they so smug? I think it's, they're usually like a kind of, I feel like I see them most if it's in like a gas station or convenience store where it's usually a kind of like, hey, don't steal
Starting point is 00:10:21 shit if you're thinking about it. It's intended, I think, to be for somebody who's going gonna steal something and that's why it's so like hey fuck you pal For my Reese's yeah, I see you drifting towards the Gatorade and anyone these You put this speaking of those cameras even at self-checkout for like Walmart or Target sure film me at the checkout do I have to see myself from How from 2001 like fish eye of myself just like How far do you think we are from using real-time like? Generative AI deepfake-y technology to make you look better in those cameras.
Starting point is 00:11:08 Oh, hold on. So they- You just convinced me of the first good application. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Soon? So you look really good. I look so snatched in the second camera. And you're like, wow, I actually felt great
Starting point is 00:11:17 checking out at Walmart. That was, I felt like I looked incredible. Yeah, I'm looking so odd at Walmart. Dude, when I'm checking out at Walmart, that's the best Pavlovian response to double clicking the button on your phone to do Apple wallet and then scanning as you see your own like puppy dog emoji You've got Chad jaw. You're like I definitely don't have that face. I'm coming in so many type pods There's a charge on my receipt for 50 cents It's just as lethal face card
Starting point is 00:11:47 Oh my god, I've been internationally charged national fee for looking so So sweet serving The second thing about putting shit on your face is this have you seen this SF tech mom this we thought of you for this because Someone made me a blackface Why did you say that a reason we thought of you for this because Someone made me a blackface Why did you say that every said we thought of you for this? It's not why did you come in with that after Jeffers to say the other day we recorded? We were trying to figure out what content goes on the eddie episode and what content goes in the other episode Reporting this week, and we definitely avoided having to put you in a thumbnail where we were talking about racism
Starting point is 00:12:24 What do you guys remember your suggestion? I'll tell the audience the suggestion For that for the title of the last episode I was on they were like hey We're just wondering if this is okay of the title was because we were talking about a comedian Who was saying slurs on stage? And we were talking about the three of us were talking about him. And they asked me if they could make the title,
Starting point is 00:12:47 Saying the N-Word for Clout with Eddie Burback. And I was like, hey, maybe don't put this in the Google SEO for me. Maybe don't put that title out there. But we also go around, comedian says the N-Word. Right. And then you're that day. I was really pushing for Eddie Burback says the end word parentheses real Burback no slurs challenge
Starting point is 00:13:13 But this is a tech I've like fully become blackpilled on any and all family I've like fully become blackpilled on any and all family vlog type content. Yeah, no children should be online if you have a child don't post them online. Yeah, if you're a private citizen, if you're a private citizen, I don't care. You know what I mean? Like if you're a private citizen with a public Instagram, I don't care. But there are risks and there are like weirdos. Yeah, like if you have like, you know, it's just your small circle and you want to show
Starting point is 00:13:42 your kids on Instagram, sure. But if you're doing content and the content is around your kids, stop. And then if the content, even if you were doing, you know, not a private account, but just a personal account for friends. And then for whatever reason, your posts are getting a lot of traction. You don't even change the way you're presenting them. It just happens to connect with people. Sure. You can say that wasn't your goal, but millions of people are now looking at you. I don't think you can make an Instagram reel or a TikTok with your kid in it and just say it was like,
Starting point is 00:14:10 that was private. I know you were talking about Instagram accounts, but it's like the second with these algorithms, the second you're like, look at this funny thing my kid did, if you're posting a reel, then that kid might get super famous in an instant. But anyways, sorry. But I do have some empathy for that because if it's coming from a person that is not a creator.
Starting point is 00:14:30 Yeah, they might not know. Yeah, you just don't, there's a lot of things that you think you know until things happen and then you realize you don't. But this is like, okay, full steam ahead, this is our content. I think this woman, by the way, don't they have like 15 million subscribers on YouTube or nine million or something?
Starting point is 00:14:49 Nine million on YouTube, two point six million on TikTok. Mother of two sets of twins. I actually didn't realize that part. So that already is enough. BT dubs by the by. Remember that? Anyway, you you there's your content. If you want to just be a family vlogger, go off. I disagree, but go off.
Starting point is 00:15:08 It is not to be rude. It is weird that they're twins. Yeah, twins are weird. It's kind of twisted. You have a family history of twins? Yeah. Bummer. Dude, all of our twin friends have family histories of it.
Starting point is 00:15:24 It's annoying to me. Like our twin friends that went to school with us had twin aunts. And they managed a strip club. It was a crazy. Oh, that was cool. Yeah. I mean, I didn't go, but. You didn't go? No, I know I got to. Oh.
Starting point is 00:15:37 I've never been to Atlanta. Oh, right. I forgot you didn't go to school with me and you are from the United Kingdom. And you were busy cheese rolling and glossing. I literally was falling down a hill and Yeah, I had a chip in my teeth here for most of my dollar. Damn. Those are crazy. But wait so with the vision pro here Yeah, let's just watch. I'm sure the word I'll mention after okay This woman looks and acts like she's in a Disney Channel original movie about like a futuristic mom. Yeah, smart mom. Yeah, smart mom. ASMR, I didn't even realize that was a part of it.
Starting point is 00:16:10 Oh, ASMR with your son. Mom and son date in Silicon Valley. Today was a yes day for Sebastian. This is like she's speed running Eddie Burbeck videos. Yeah, I know, I was just thinking about thinking about it's like I have made multiple pieces and used these things to show like how disconnected and dystopian things are and she's like she's like maxing on Uber eats order from like mama's real Italian kitchen restaurant
Starting point is 00:16:42 Mordor with bitching sauce brick and Morty. Yeah, a restaurant that clearly can't be legal. Mickey Mouse's epic burger. She gets in the Waymo, Ted's there like, want to drive her over the country? No! Dude, that's a Black Mirror episode. He's an ape.
Starting point is 00:17:01 Waymoing, dude. The episode is just, when tins of the car Okay, wait, so then what else is she doing in this if you're just wearing it what's like the implied Augmentation because she was using a phone. Oh, yeah what I'm confused about here is and I don't think she's cropping it because For people that don't know I made a whole video about the vision Pro and how I think that I mean it So it's like I have not Nearly, you know my side nearly has not won this battle against it But basically my whole thing was that like we're already so you know
Starting point is 00:17:40 Connected to the internet putting it between your eyes and reality is like a step too far and well like you know completely Getting peripheral vision of reality. Yeah It's like you know a cool sci-fi idea, but then so basically what I'm confused about here is that Video of her phone that looks POV doesn't look like it was shot on a vision Pro Or maybe she's cropping it to be but it looks like it's just another phone filming her phone The vision pro doesn't have any kind of like like the fidelity of it doesn't make your phone screen like harder to look at Oh, yes, it does. Oh, it does. Yeah, your phone is like impossible to read. Yeah, Eddie I think you're right cuz who's filming this right? So I already have someone filming. Yeah, it's a child
Starting point is 00:18:19 It's so far. I don't get why she's wearing the vision pro other than to Seem like she's doing something futuristic and calling away. No, that get why she's wearing the vision pro other than to seem like she's doing something futuristic and calling away. That's why she's wearing She's wearing chrome shoes. I'm also Chrome shoe mom of technology would yeah that one when you watch it again a lot of problematic stuff in that word I'm also willing to bet that From my experience of the vision pro maybe there is I doubt there's Waymo app. Like there were so many apps that you're like, oh, there's not a Vision Pro version. And then it would be-
Starting point is 00:18:50 You just log in the MapQuest. Yeah, sometimes you could boot up stuff that were like iPad versions, so maybe, I don't know, you raise a good point. We just saw her whip out her phone, so it's like- Oh yeah, to call the Waymo, so she didn't, yeah. So she's taking that thing on and off, or having someone else, no, she's thinking on and off because her hand
Starting point is 00:19:07 It's like wearing non prescription glasses, but they hurt we can watch up to where we are I I don't have as many problems with the vision pro if you stay at home. It's more the There will be blood sun. She's So we're getting into Waymo she can't't see for shit. So she stumbles into a Waymo. Hello from Waymo. Is this going now by second? How long is this trip? Just about there. Forget your phone. Your future self will thank you. Did you hear it? It said future. Yeah. The car said future. It's kind of like everything we're doing. just oh it's a store for uglies
Starting point is 00:20:09 Oh Fuck that robot dude. I ran it about this the other day I don't know if it's on the patreon regular, but I just it this has been happening a bit lately I'll just see something and I'll just start yeah, so when's life When what's the we're creating a lack of friction to get to what the grave? Yeah, well, I so I have to wear my Apple vision Pro with my automatic shoes that float me slightly above the ground on my Marty McFly skateboard from the better future to so I can drift towards a coffee shop where everyone is not there to get a coffee that's made out of platinum or something to go back with my son who can't hear me because he's wearing headphones and I
Starting point is 00:20:48 assumed sleep Can't see because the Great, so I have to plug a magsafe into my right eye to recharge. I'm seeing my son through what is essentially FaceTime If not actually I'm seeing through a camera lens I'm this looks like her lock screen. It's like walking my son into the final frontier of technology And this is I feel like the thing that makes me kind of like sick to my stomach about this more than anything That was just the like We just get this kid is not having a fun day with his mom or the kid might enjoy it
Starting point is 00:21:23 I don't know but it's just like The the content stuff for this just makes me so grossed out where it's just like or just take him out and don't record it I know it's a yes day where it's content. Yeah, but she's just like I'm like, oh People wouldn't know this but like you guys know cuz you've been in stuff that I've filmed before but even for my own shit You guys know before I even start if there's gonna be something that you guys are in and I have to turn the camera You guys I'm like you you I'll sign your own waiver
Starting point is 00:21:57 Yeah, every time I go like I'm just sorry so as long as you guys are cool with this I'm so sorry to ruin this moment, but I might be in frame We and we're like on set for a mission of Buzzable Boogie. Yeah, he's like he's okay if I film this It's just I don't know. I feel like they're there and it's something with the meta glasses too. There's something so Intrusive about pointing the camera at somebody and so it's like you got to make sure it's okay And then it's like, you know, we know this but it's like a child can't fucking actually decide if it's all right with also when it's like no I'm not making him work. I'm bribing him with stuff. Oh good. Yeah, cuz kids well kids don't have currency So that is the full thing you have a choice like what is he gonna say? It's yesterday
Starting point is 00:22:38 All right, let's see when you the kid gets to say yes, or when the mom says stuff And he's I'm just waiting for them to do something fun for a child transit they're getting more walking around and getting at the car see what do you mean doing something fun for a child they're getting espresso I hate him okay they're like a future maxing that's the whole point of the whole it's just why do anything you know Just kill me with the robot just pull my head off. Hey Pours you into a lot. Sorry. That's a really fucking long time Like that morning routine video Yeah, wait, it's show that the minutes are moving like
Starting point is 00:23:27 It's like 12 or 9 12 They paid six minutes after it started making your time worth nothing. I know is this too extreme I just literally watch this and I'm like, okay, so she should make the arm so fast It punches my head off because I don't know what I'm here for Yeah the coffee also even this like small even if're going to get coffee with your kid, if you go to a coffee shop, there's a chance that the cashier or the barista are super chill
Starting point is 00:23:54 and talk to the kid, ask him a question or two. They learn how to socialize a little bit. They maybe give him a cookie or something. The clock is ticking on getting socialized. It's like Every second your kid isn't getting exposed to some kind of life experience while their brain still malleable learning language learning interaction guys the Air Pro maxes or whatever the fuck they're called which sound like shoes and And the vision bro are not in what you guys are describing with this like human interaction. Yeah
Starting point is 00:24:24 Yeah, what if you sound like a moron for that? You know recently where we're Zuckerberg's like, you know people don't have enough friends And so we're gonna make AI that like fulfill that need I think it was like the average person needs at least like eight friends and those people have like two or three and You just hard last one. Yeah, it's hard to not see shit like this where it's like the entire tech industry is like What if you met nobody ever and then suddenly are like we got these new products where what if we gave you friends? What if we gave you people it's like you took them away He literally just he makes the platform that destroys that possibility and then
Starting point is 00:24:59 Just learns karate and goes on Joe Rogan and does bow hunting and is like I actually really like hanging out He like starves you and sells you food You know what pisses me off about that especially with Zuckerberg? He robbed me he talks and at least I used to have like I want to pummel you you fucking nerd And now he can pummel me back now. He can pull all your limbs off and swap them around Why did he like at least give me the satisfaction of being like I want a roundhouse kick you dude But now it's like he punched me I actually learned to roundhouse kick you dude, but now it's like Actually, we're to roundhouse kick myself. I suppose I can name so many bows
Starting point is 00:25:30 What I'd have to do in that scenario I would probably have to catch that kick you'd be unable to spoil I put you in a single leg takedown I'd pull your head off like a Lego character and I'd replace it with a dumb. Okay You saw the clip where he's asked the name what bow he uses. No. It's literally like when Trump is asked his favorite Bible verse. Like Zuckerberg, like he clearly has like a bow guy. He's like, I love to shoot bows.
Starting point is 00:25:53 And he's like, oh, Joe Rogan's like one follow up question. What's your, what kind of bow do you use? And he's like, oh, what do you use? Well, there's the bow one. The thing with the string. The one with the bow and the arrow. Arrow style? It's awesome. Wait. We actually can we find that clip? And then did you guys see him say that he only drinks coffee?
Starting point is 00:26:10 recreationally He's in a roll right now. Yeah The Yvonne which I rarely am on Twitter ever I also opened in Theo Vaughn's posting Clips of an AI baby version of him saying podcast clips. Oh, no. Mm-hmm. I mean that's I think like the most That feels like the most kind of sporting what kind of boat you have gosh But um Scratches chin, do you know the company that makes it? No at the top I had I'm sure you know yeah, no this is embarrassing this is embarrassing
Starting point is 00:26:49 I can get you hooked up. Yeah, it works No, it's not old did you get Genie a website where you could like No, it's not old Is it a boy or a girl this it's funny no no hate to plant-based news but just had to do they did cut the four different people like shaking their head, which is a unique form of Reaction content that I've never seen yeah, they're doing kids react without speaking or posing right adults react sorry yeah It's basically like a bow wait. Do you know what kind ooh?
Starting point is 00:27:29 How old is it? Oh, it's not old. It came out today Works is crazy that works under is it oh An arrow style I'm glad he didn't well. I kind of wish he had gone all the bows did I I'm glad he didn't well. I kind of wish he had gone all the bows did I forget all One broke boy. I can't even name all the brands. I know And there's a way There's a way to handle this in a way that this audience would like where he could be like dude I'm too. I'm too rich. I don't give a fuck somebody gives me a bow and Joe will probably be like oh, that's actually kind of That's actually cool. That is the saddest thing aside from from the implication of the way they're destroying the globe and the people.
Starting point is 00:28:07 The saddest thing about the way that these billionaires conduct themselves socially is that like, you have, you've already won, right? You have the lottery ticket. Go hand in the lottery ticket. You don't need to keep showing it to me and going look at this because it's you just go like yeah I'm I use Legolas's bow from the fucking Lord of the Rings. I guess the same one cuz I bought it just be cool And they're like I should create a fake path of exile account no Invent like a new jet with you on it make it an Elon style robot that does karate Whereas where's Zuckervig like a couple years ago was like look at the digital avatar. I made of myself
Starting point is 00:28:51 He's like, oh, that's not cool. Maybe I'll get like a little bit more muscular and start wearing a what is it a fucking puzzle piece? chain or Yeah, and he has a he wears like a shirt with a Like a Greek phrase or like a so duck It's like Latin for like suck suck his God or something like that He does wear wearing gilgen t-shirts and doing Dominican cosplay after he made a connect avatar that didn't learn this is the thing about Zuckerberg and Elon as well where it's like the You just like they can try to change who they are, but you sit them down and they just,
Starting point is 00:29:27 they can't escape the type of dweebs that they are. Not for an hour and a half long. No, no, maybe for, Zuckerberg, maybe for like two or three minutes, possibly. Elon cannot survive 10 seconds with trying to trick you into being, into thinking he's somebody that he's not. Elon thrived in- He starts doing Sims emotes
Starting point is 00:29:44 almost immediately. Elon thrived in Neodograss Tyson I fucking love science format. Yeah, very select. Well actually arm space is like really big It's basically bigger than a parking lot you want to You want to spaces big 9 billion like and I think we'll go there. I like it. It's fucking sick It's because there's a wall With their digital child? Like the Truman Show If I sail a spaceship into it it'll rip
Starting point is 00:30:10 It's quite early I'm scared of sailing How did Truman not realize what he was in when people started doing brand deals at him? The man's a fucking idiot This is only reality He's probably just like, oh people are out there doing brand deals That's explainable, but what's not explainable is when it happens in the black mirror episode
Starting point is 00:30:36 Definitely a human yum drink yummy that pizza was way faster than the coffee yeah That pizza was way faster than the coffee. Yeah Have they spoken once To each other this whole time. Yeah, they have Solid snakes like ear implant And he only has to speak with his throat she speaks to him through the headphones She sees them through the screen inside of the vision bro. She speaks to him through mic I just mommy especially wearing this headset. I can't imagine robbing your child of Memories where they can look in your eyes. Yeah, they would remember you as a profile
Starting point is 00:31:19 Is a screen of your Remember you as Alita Battle Angel. Speaking of robbing, I think Alita was the other name for the robot next to Jarvis, by the way. Oh, why? What is this place as hell? Where is this? This is in Westfield, right?
Starting point is 00:31:36 This is in Nirvana, dude. This is in heaven. Speaking of robbing, she's very easy to rob, dude. You get no peripheral vision. Walking target, dude. Have no peripheral vision. The biggest pocket to pick. um Speaking of robbing. She's very easy to rob dude Target dude have no peripheral vision the biggest pocket to pick no street smarts do the battery doesn't last that long She's where's that even connected to you? She have a bag. No. I think she was where is she it looked like she was holding The battery pack I mean there's another person filming the story and on the child yeah By I don't know is it somebody they pay is it is it the other parent or is there another parent?
Starting point is 00:32:09 I don't know but like Concerned by Stan yeah like who's that like this kids also hanging out with whoever this other person So instead of twins that are only on the production side. They're stuck like in a trench coat Yeah, I like the producer because I get to look them in the eye I was raised by a hank He does most in the eye. I Was raised by Hank he does My eye contact for a stick out in my face. Yeah, whereas my mom does that and also wears that It's like when you see someone without their glasses. They like see their mom without the Who is this you start crying like when a dad
Starting point is 00:32:41 Who is this? You start crying. Like when a dad shaves. Yeah! What happened to dad? Why is his head small? Mom's eyes are so tiny. Where's your vestigial headset? Yeah, I don't understand. Just start screaming. Oh, right there.
Starting point is 00:32:57 Oh, what are they? What, Minecraft? The robot. Oh, a cat. What the fuck was that? Can you back for a second? Was that a citric? She has her... Yeah, during the robot. Cap. What the fuck was that? Can you back for a second? She has her... Yeah, during the movie. They have the flash on filming in the theater. Oh, you're right! Oh my god. That's so right. Look, there's people next to them! This is so infuriating to me. Oh my god I would be so angry. I would probably say something. I'm also angry on principle that she's got it on during the movie as if that's how she's watching the movie
Starting point is 00:33:25 Yeah, what movie they're watching. I don't recognize this at all. Is it it's Olivia Coleman's church trip. Oh Is it Paddington three four two nine it might be I didn't three four two nine is like a set in a dystopian teacher There's no time to explain the bear. We have to protect the bear. I need marmalade. Is this like what all our content is like? What, this? Like, does she just, does she just always have that shit on her face?
Starting point is 00:33:53 No, not always. I think- I wanna see her eyes. Which is almost even more infuriating is that she's doing it as a form of rage bait. Which is like, not only are you making content out of your special time with, no reverse is like you're still you still did bad It doesn't matter if you were intending to infuriate. I shit my pants right now nearly owned. Oh destroyed I will say you know I've worn those the headset in my life before It is it was actually I think maybe the most humiliated I've ever been in my entire life
Starting point is 00:34:43 And it wasn't just to like make a point it was especially like Everyone had talked about how this was like a stupid product for losers And yeah, I was making fun of it, but nobody in public would know that it's like no. I'm actually doing this ironically It said check out my YouTube video on this later. It doesn't help your case No, it's like it's like actually cool. So basically I'm gonna go home and like for satire I'm also falling in love with an AI woman You've misunderstood her like wow, this is about the biggest pimp ever Dancing with his phone epic. What's the feed look like?
Starting point is 00:35:20 That actually is one of those um Those like fight club style movies which I just did, I don't, I disagree with the sentiment of. I'm like, nah, that's cool, you got a girlfriend and a phone. Same with Whiplash, it's a movie about the best teacher ever. It fucking worked, look how good he is at the drums. He's fucking great at the drums. He did it.
Starting point is 00:35:40 It's just like a lot of kids stuff. Whoa, hot pink, whoa. Okay, so it's like. Okay, hot pink, whoa. Okay, so it's like. Okay, so it's just like normal. See, here's the thing, right? We look at this and I'm sure all three of us, no, Jacob, Jacob has no morals. Jacob's wearing it in vision pro right now.
Starting point is 00:35:58 His head is plugged into USBC. Jacob's plugged into his vestigial camera setup. He's part monitor. But I look at this. We joked that in the movie version of the Sad Boys Ordinance story, Jacob will be played by Andy Serkis as the computer. Doing a perfectly square monitor mocap.
Starting point is 00:36:18 But we watched this, right? And I think one of the first instincts that comes to me is like, how do we feel about reacting to this content with kids? And should we blow their face in the content? These aren't even our videos. And I'm almost like, is this unethical to put a child? That's always a really good sign when you're like,
Starting point is 00:36:33 oh, they beat me to 1 billion impressions of their kids' faces. I'm not gonna do anything by blurring this unfortunately. This stuff makes me sad. Yeah. Oh, and they're in California. On the bright side. It's extremely lucrative. Yeah Fist if the kids weren't happy, how come they live with how come they're rich. It's really unique That she's personally branded
Starting point is 00:36:59 This twins account to herself because there is a husband but normally you see this as a family unit thing. She's like no I'm Anna and these are my two sets of twins. Are they all vocals free? By the way, not ASMR. That last one. Yeah. Well, whatever. It was a nightmare. There was a click of a sebo in the way though. Oh and then also when she did the Apple pay, Apple light, ding. And the sound of an automatic door closing
Starting point is 00:37:30 and then the sound of people being bothered at a theater. Oh, and the iconic ASMR sound of the gyros and an arm going. The Jarvis butt. They have one of these robot dogs at home too. Oh, that's crazy Standing the same way is this the one that like Tyson at had and they like kicked it This looks like a Boston Dynamics dog or one of the like cheap versions of them Not an actual full Boston But yeah anything else you could do with it. I'd kick it. Yeah, I I
Starting point is 00:38:04 Actually saw one of these on the street in DTLA. I think Drew and I were walking somewhere I think we were walking from dinner somewhere, and it was I think those cheaper ones have a remote control, and it was a guy Walking his robot dog with a remote control, and I don't think he was filming anything and I just we just stared in awe. I had no idea what the fuck he was doing like what's the point? Just to have people come out and ask you about it And it's like hey man the cooler version of that is to get a real dog and like Don't get you talking to real people god that legitimately put a chill down my
Starting point is 00:38:41 Yeah, like even most than I'm, I'm just kind of like, oh, that's cringe. That like hit me in like a, I think it is. It's just making me, I'm already a little too nihilist for my own good sometimes, but that really puts me in like a, do I even want this? Do I even do this? Like what are we doing? These kids grow up and it's like, you're on a date. It's like, did you have a pet growing up? And it's like, well, in a way. It's like you're on a date. It's like did you have a pet growing up? It's like well In a way But the deal was if we get the pet I have to charge it right I have to clean up its oil I think they're like sprinkle in like a tiny bit of optimism with it is that like it at the very least
Starting point is 00:39:21 I think you know not only with a lot of stuff I've been making in the responses I've seen from it, but also like friends that aren't like super online that I talk to like back in Chicago or here, it seems like us included, there is kind of a growing movement of people who are like tech feels very bad right now. And I'm not saying all tech is bad,
Starting point is 00:39:42 but I feel like it's pushing a lot of us to like connect with like okay Maybe I really do need to go outside like back in like 2014 when I was on Facebook I wasn't thinking like it's very important for me to get out in the Sun and talk to people and have community and at least There's a section of people that are like alright. This makes me feel so bad Maybe I need to think about what is fulfilling in my life I think that's a silver lining to a horrible gray cloud though. We worked in that space. I kind of feel like that's like the professional version,
Starting point is 00:40:09 adult professional version of the same experience you have as a kid when you're like keeping up with new graphic card releases or something like that where the job you do, you might not find pieces of it compelling, you might be frustrated with something, but the environment you're in is convincing you that, yeah, but there's forward momentum. Like, you might be spending all your time
Starting point is 00:40:29 on Facebook circa 2007, but by doing so, it's almost like watching, I don't know, like a Pixar movie as moral action. Like, yeah, the media I consume and the tech I use, that is the same as expressing principles and like being a person. I'll always add the caveat of technological development for like stuff like the robots and stuff like that. Very good for accessibility purposes long term. That is what you want it for. And then the money is made for
Starting point is 00:41:01 military money. The annoying thing. The fucking flame thrower that was on. The annoying thing is the perversion of any perceived value in these things because it's horrible PR because it makes everything feel useless. And there is valid applications of these things, but when every example you see is the dumbest shit in the world,
Starting point is 00:41:27 it is horrible for the, if you have any sort of techno-optimism, it's like, well, why would I, it's like you're going against the grain to say, oh, well, there's not all bad apples or whatever. Most of those- It feels embarrassing. It's embarrassing, dude.
Starting point is 00:41:44 Most of those good use cases don't make a profit. They're either going to be abandoned or just not the reason they're happening. I'm sure, like, you know, we rag on the AI space, like, I know there's accessibility stuff that comes with AI that's pretty okay. And can be really good for a lot of people. That is not the reason that there it's like a Tens of billion dollar industry there's like a but Google's not like we got a start making data centers to make sure that people can like Translate language quickly we gotta put we gotta put AI in this toothbrush somehow Sell more teeth
Starting point is 00:42:24 Industry is really so that whenever you throw mouthwash in your mouth, the bottle pretends it's blood. It's like, oh, it is really funny. Like when it's being like forced into every industry, right? It's like you are looking for any excuse to put this. Absolutely. Even with like the Amazon robots that they've been showcasing the ones that are Like are like humanoid walk on two legs and are like picking up boxes and stuff
Starting point is 00:42:52 Like this is all just for show because if you were like going for an efficient robot, it would not have legs Yeah, like it would have wheels like Unpleasing aesthetically I had I was mentioning to everybody before we started recording this like thing that got in my head with the show and or Tim Heidecker before Just said the the joke and or what anyway I've been stuck in my head But I was trying to find the clip before we came here or before I came over here And I searched Tim Heidecker and or and Gemini, you know took over the top result
Starting point is 00:43:21 It was like there's currently no evidence that Tim Heidecker has ever been in the show and or it's like cool That's not what I fucking asked. Oh my god took over the top result, it was like, there's currently no evidence that Tim Heidecker's ever been in the show, and or, it's like, cool. That's not what I fucking asked. That's not what I asked. Oh my God. There is. Reddit is becoming the most important keyword in every search now.
Starting point is 00:43:30 Yes. There is a interesting human behavior in making humanoid robots, because it's, to me, and to a lot of people, this has been talked about by people way smarter than me, there's this weird thing of deserved servitude. I need something humanoid to be subservient to me and it evokes some horrific aspects of our past.
Starting point is 00:44:00 Siri has to be polite and friendly. And it can't be like, yep, okay okay pop that in the reminder would be the one And we've talked about talking about this before so I'll bring this up now because it feels relevant Can we pull up that video of Kai's and that and friends like beating up the robot? Have you seen this? Yeah, I said his response to I actually didn't see his response I think his response is something like like people are reading too much into it And it's like I think the people were responding something very real That's like subtle that they're saying I I would yeah cuz I'm curious cuz in my mind
Starting point is 00:44:31 I think people aren't reading he might not be reading enough into it. Yeah, he's also really young It's with a lot of these people. It's like we've essentially feel like especially with streaming now being so huge created like this internet culture where, where five to 15 year olds are being raised by 15 to 25 year olds. And it's like, I mean, I kind of was part of that problem. I mean, I was in my early 20s, like giving advice on the internet.
Starting point is 00:45:03 And I look back and I'm like, what the fuck did you know about anything? We have that in our culture, right? Like you have older siblings, you have mentor type figures who are giving advice to a younger generation. And that is not inherently bad. But we've also deprioritize and villainized actually learning anything about the world
Starting point is 00:45:25 questioning anything about the systems that like drive our world and so people with immense influence have no Incentive to learn a single fucking thing or iterate on things that are already known. It said it's just do Gather as much of the advice as possible and then behave based on that advice as opposed to like. Or to challenge anything. Yeah, friction of any kind. If I'm a rich, successful young person, there are no forces that are challenging me to change any opinion that I have about anything
Starting point is 00:45:58 and I have the power and influence to just say whatever I think or feel and never feel any discomfort. Which must be right because I'm doing it also if you If you're a streamer, and you do I feel like say something that has some consequences An offer from kick comes in it's like hey I know people are mad at you right now What if you gambled a little bit and we gave you 40 million years like oh, I guess those people were wrong
Starting point is 00:46:26 Yeah, okay. I guess as a 22 year old I think I have a full handle on what this will this choice will do to my children audio audience children goodwill and Morals seem to be on the downtick for you. Would you like to completely erase them in favor of generational? Well, it's totally cool that a bunch of kids watch me gamble because like they see me lose. And that's why gambling companies pay me tens of millions of dollars so I can convince them that gambling's a bad idea. They actually don't want business. That's the pipeline.
Starting point is 00:46:55 Because they're good guys. Yeah. And they're like, we have so much money, we feel so guilty. Oh my God, we feel so bad about all this money we make from gambling addiction. What are we gonna do with it? That we're gonna pay these streamers to cure people by showing their losses.
Starting point is 00:47:06 Don't worry guys. We've talked about it before, but like, we have now like been on the receiving end of like offers from some of these like gambling companies. And they're insane, they're like so much money. They want, it is a compromise your principles figure. That's like what they offer. Right, and it's like, oh okay,
Starting point is 00:47:23 so that's how this works, right? Cause like if we were any less scrupulous about our worlds, it'd be like, well, sure. That sounds awesome. If like a razor company comes along and then they offer that same amount of money, I'm like, did you guys like use child blood for this? Yeah, what happened?
Starting point is 00:47:39 What controversy did you get into? Yeah, or it's like, yeah, better health. It's like, hey, better health is actually offering way more money. I wonder what, oh, yeah, or it's a yeah better help. It's like hey better. I was actually offering way more money I wonder what oh, I googled it Streaming platform They just felt like it you ever get that and also it's like I don't I don't you know There's there's some slip ups that you know people can ever not knowing about certain sponsors and everything, but you ever get oh
Starting point is 00:47:59 I mean somebody's like a bullish titles ad because I thought it was a cute I mean somebody's like a title's ad because I thought it was a cute Novelty yeah gift which you know it is never not been a novelty gift, but then the It's like as soon as I learned more. I like immediately I think My thing with them was only up for like a very short time I just never get like where someone's like well you did a better help ad and I'm like I did I didn't oh Someone's like well you did a better help ad and I'm like I did I didn't oh, dude You know it's fine though if that's one of the worst problems that someone can to can bring up I don't know I did a gambling it. Oh cuz you did yeah video like two years, but yeah, I
Starting point is 00:48:37 Have no idea This is maybe a side point. I have no idea what the current state of better help is, but there is also, and this kind of gets to like, I'm way less likely to defend a company, so who fucking cares, they can like burn. But I do have this question when I'm like, okay, when we've all mobilized against a company
Starting point is 00:49:00 for having, like doing bad stuff, is there any recourse or are we just saying they should just go away? And I'm not particularly- Cause I imagine they tried to address some, I just like don't, I have the privilege of not engaging. Yeah, I don't, I think it's an even more cathartic like dog piling kind of thing thing because you don't even have to
Starting point is 00:49:26 account for the humanity of a person and you shouldn't have to it's a company it's like you don't have to do that like capital D discourse on Twitter where some of the XC everything I'm sorry so I know you got weird about it yeah you were talking about how you're just like big on yeah make sure that they want all the car crash videos for that great man didn't spend all that money just have you disrespect the name of the new app right and you said that as you were uploading crazy fights That Cuepo cop AI in the bottom left corner really
Starting point is 00:49:55 Was that guy still doing stuff? Yeah, he's now a now. He's inside of the computer thing. He's Like he transcended he's the render but like not an actual and not like a fake He's reached to the singularity. Yeah, I don't think he was ever alive. Also. I have to pee. That's not this in okay Well, it's a big part of the show is that I classic Jordan piss We should have like a little bit that we do when someone goes I think there is one of those Oh, not a bit, but it's on the bingo board. No, it's like We play a special like animation of a little song and then
Starting point is 00:50:31 Am I yes, we show a babbling brook like a waterfall It makes everybody else have to pee It's pissed and it's just whoever is here. It's eddie eddie It looks like he's doing a Mortal Kombat finisher. Yeah, this is the video of Kaisenot kicking his robot. He's doing a 300 kick. Oh, they're like verbally abusing it dude, that's so weird This is me shooting civilians Where your mom's at? Where your mom's at? He's a robot they really I mean like that's also
Starting point is 00:51:39 Super dangerous with the way that these things are like spring-loaded like with like yeah, they've got like real like Torque but no at no point have I ever seen like a Boston Dynamics robot. I'm like I should Let me see where the axis point is I gotta say I was I did laugh initially because of that big big kick and that is funny Well, that's like a America's funniest home videos like fall. Yeah, like when someone when a parent kicks a child Long that show was like a miracle. It was like such a all-american show what some of the worst That then baseball a baby getting double-bounce on a fucking Very very
Starting point is 00:52:18 Genuinely, sir What if the most embarrassing video of you when you were three has resurfaced ten years later But don't worry you get to fly to Orlando, Florida in the dress shirt from Kohl's you just bought To lose a hundred Let's show them why you're missing a tooth. You lost it to some fucking dog That stood on two legs, but at least the toothpaste AI is working Intended I just gotta say I was expecting to find that Kyson that thing like a little funny cause I'm kind of a bad bloke, but I didn't know how kind of just real bully vibe. Yeah. Like yelling the verbal stuff,
Starting point is 00:52:57 but then also the shoves were too light. Like they were too, like what you do to a real kid that's getting bullies. And I think that's one of the things is like, I can understand. I don't agree with, but can understand Kai being like, it's not real. We weren't, but the thing people were pointing out is like, but it, it felt kind of real. And that's the weird part about it. It really was the lightness of the push. The first, yeah, it's like, Ooh,
Starting point is 00:53:22 you guys did that at school. I feel like, yeah, it's weird to force me to feel empathy for a robot. If it kicked its head off, it would have lived really hard. That would have been funny. Like when I play an RPG and I do something. Hey, I happen to enter 16 and I might go super sand, too, if I saw that shit. But if I'm playing Baldur's Gate
Starting point is 00:53:37 and there's a character that I accidentally wrong, I do feel bad, it's not a real person. But I feel like if something, um, if something feels a little human, there's something naturally in you that you'd hope you would want to treat it better. And so then when I think you see something like that, you're like, you know, it's not the worst thing that's ever happened, but also it's one where it's like, it feels really mean. Look, also other like, no, it's a butterfly. I can pull its wings off.
Starting point is 00:54:03 Yeah. Also, yeah, when people are cruel to other people usually that requires removing their humanity and not seeing them as a peer or person and this is just like a By default, it doesn't have any of that. What was his I do want to give him the grace of seeing his Response or whatever fits short. I think I just saw a clip of it on Twitter once. I'm not sure if it's like easily accessible, but we can see if there was response. And also I don't know about you guys.
Starting point is 00:54:31 I see a video like that and I'm like, hi, just in case we start putting AI in these fucking like even the current chat cheap ET and one of these robots don't give it a video to interpret. Like, please. in one of these robots don't give it a video to interpret it. I've thought about that even like you know I made like my AI video and I'm like hopefully this doesn't piss off a computer. Aberrant discovered. Heretic. Fun I ain't gonna lie it's weird bro like I would think if I spent this much money on something I'd be able to do everything I want to it, but it's not
Starting point is 00:55:12 So that makes it worse. Holy shit, dude. Yeah, that's crazy. She's like this robot Sure, like walks around like a person but this is my problem Five figures if you bump that up, maybe six or seven. Yeah, I can throw it in the lava It's also so interesting to use to start with money. You know, to be like, well, I spent so much money on it. It's like you guys were saying, it is, that's the metric. Like, well, it can't be wrong. So I'm succeeding and because, and or because I have this money,
Starting point is 00:55:39 so it must be because, and because of it, whatever, I'm going crazy. So then I paid 70,000 and it was bad. So what also the thing that's also you were allowed you did it successfully Yeah, and you profited off of it. How old is guy? Old enough unfortunately, I think he's like 24 at this point Never cheese roll 23 23 23. It's still like it's one of those things. I'm not I'm not giving an excuse for it It's just like Kai is so young with such a massive platform and the same thing
Starting point is 00:56:11 I feel like happens with a lot of these streamers where I'm like You like you popped off and maybe like 20 and so you haven't had like any adult real-life Experiences where you're not like mega famous and mega wealthy And I feel like it does put you in situations kind of like this, where it's just like, it happens with just the rich kids. The issue is you never, you now never will. Right? Like, yeah, it's like, when are you now, when is that experience supposed to happen? So right now you have to call bill Clinton, mr. President still.
Starting point is 00:56:40 It's like, you're never going to not, he's never going to go back to normal. Unfortunate reality of the situation. But but like I think that obviously this is like a comparatively light critique, right? Right. But, but it's like you can't act with impunity. Jake Paul can't act with impunity just because he's got famous young. Yeah, yeah, true, true. And the problem right is that because there's no we read, I think it was the Patreon, we read that article about the kids cheating with AI on the test, right? And the immediate surface level instinct and defense that people use is, well, you know, fuck college, they charge me a bunch of money.
Starting point is 00:57:21 Yes, and I don't disagree with that sentiment. I am way more in the realm realm of like you are paying the money Yeah, you're at the point where you're paying the money. You might as well And I like you the most valuable thing I got out of college was it was a lot cheaper because England Empire, you know all that Sorry what happened? I don't want to get into it. We changed.
Starting point is 00:57:47 We found all these jewels and stuff somewhere. Now there are hours. Uh, but there's like the number one thing I got out of it, but whether it be through the act of me, I had to do and was bad at and by first jobs I was bad at and stuff is the friction in your brain with little, um, survivable failures, low stake failure and growth is teaching you to learn. It's like it's teaching you to self soothe like, Oh man, I didn't do good on that thing.
Starting point is 00:58:18 Or I just embarrassed myself in front of like my whole, uh, uh, dorm. That's so embarrassing. And then a year goes by and you go like, Oh, I'm still alive and I'm living. You it's like, you can't go to the gym once and get jacked. There are these little pushes. If you do steroids, you're going to miss out on like building the foundations of strength. The next time you it's just like, I don't I don't think there's a moral failure in the cheating up the test or at least not one that I care about particularly, but Bro, the criticism isn't the surface level even though this thing here says like they received backlash for bullying the robot It wasn't the bullying the robot. Yeah, it's also It just it's demonic. It's like you did you did do it with like nothing bad happened to you. You got a few comments
Starting point is 00:59:04 Yeah, cuz that's pretty viral, but then that's it was pretty viral, but a lot of stuff he does Like you did do it, like nothing bad happened to you, you got a few comments. Yeah, cause that's the worst. I think it went pretty viral, but then that's the thing. It went pretty viral, but a lot of stuff he does gets very viral, you know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah. It's like it didn't, he had a McDonald's deal after this.
Starting point is 00:59:15 Yeah. You know what I mean? Like it's like, there's not, like it's not actually affecting you. And so I'm curious, cause I really wanna hear if he actually says, I feel like we're losing touch with reality. Cause I have a response. The ad about the robot is very is very I'll have a response if that's actually a quote you feel me
Starting point is 00:59:29 That's not my first intention to bully the I was testing out a feature to make sure that mom No, us and even if I was bullying and like what the you feel me Slow key scary slow keys go. I feel out we're losing touch of reality Oh, you pour a little water on his mother and then it's finished Slow key scary, slow key scary. I feel like we're losing touch of reality. You pour a little water on this motha f***er, then the n***a is finished. You feel me? You unplug this motha f***er, then the n***a is finished.
Starting point is 00:59:52 I control everything. I'm not a robot. Oh, I got it. The robot was like, I don't want to say the end word, man. I think I better get out. I don't feel well. I should probably have not allowed to. No, it's the robot.
Starting point is 01:00:04 It's me when you guys told the title Wobbling wobbling to the uber be like can we do like I don't know homie says the Maybe like Eddie stops by Still says the end word though You have to zoom in Red circle It's one of those things where the letters are really long If you look at it at a certain angle
Starting point is 01:00:34 It's a puzzle So I Think that this, it is Unfortunately nuanced And that is very difficult To communicate on the internet. And so I understand why he's confused because why would he have any connection to the ethical concerns of like these things or what it, what it can mean for these behaviors.
Starting point is 01:01:00 And he has to say something now or what it can represent live. Yeah, what it can represent to people and Because it says like who knows like I'm just saying I'm not surprised that people were upset or felt away about it Yeah, it's one of those things that where it's like I you get what he's he's basically I think trying to say like this thing is like an RC car like it does You're losing in touch with reality by thinking I shouldn't do yeah the point other people are making is like if you grabbed a stuffed animal of a dog and then slit its throat You'd be like, whoa, that's what did you like about that? Yeah, like it sure it was an intimate object, but it looked cute like yeah
Starting point is 01:01:37 It's like what yeah, what was that's a more extreme version by the way that i'm saying but it's like If you did the same thing to a blow up doll, you know what I mean? It doesn't matter that it was a robot. It's kind of the behavior around it. And again, it's like, it's the lightest criticism in the world. And it's like, oh yeah, people have an issue with that
Starting point is 01:01:56 because these behaviors mirror a darker thing, whether or not that's actually happening, doesn't matter, People felt away. It moved on with the tides. Bingo board mentioned, but Mr. Beast, we've all obviously had a Jimmy time, but we have several times. I've never interacted with a bad. He's a ghost.
Starting point is 01:02:17 That's a kitchen. There is no sounds good to me. Like every time we end up talking about MrBeast videos and you cyberbullied him. I think you got that haircut, Jake Poulson. Every time we talk about weird shit that he does or like weird kind of a little unethical stuff or putting like doing a thumbnail with, you know, a crying child and it's like one like saves one African, that kind of stuff. The surface level defense is yeah, but you did something good.
Starting point is 01:02:52 I get it. And I understand what the surface level defense is when I make the criticism I'm going to do like an in before like, no, no, that's not what I'm saying. I, there has to be value in just saying, Hey, this is demonic and I don't have to articulate that to you because you should feel it Yeah, I don't know how to explain like human instinct and desire for care and yeah Yeah, it's yeah, it's one of the especially with him where it's like you hear him talking an interview or something and you can tell there's like a real war in his brain where he's like, from
Starting point is 01:03:28 my perspective of the world, I am doing the most good you could possibly do. Most points in Where he's like, I went back to the drawing board and, and I'm, I'm putting a water in Africa. I'm doing like schools in Africa. That's exactly The fabled halo and like the aura glow he's like in the world that I grew up in when I was watching reality TV That was the coolest thing you could possibly do some for somebody ever and then you yeah It's just like with that. It's like you're having two different conversations where you're basically like yeah, but you know Here's like a nuanced conversation about like what that type of content might mean for the kids watching and he's like I don't get it but it's
Starting point is 01:04:05 Good. Yeah, it's like oh man going into a corner store and trying to pay with like Dave and Buster's points Yeah, like it's not that it's wrong in the way you think I just you can't do that here That doesn't matter here And that's why I mentioned is especially like Kai's age for it too is just like I don't know I think even a discussion like that is something that I would understand more Later, and I definitely, I don't know, there's maybe the reason I say it, too, is that, like, I think correct me if I'm wrong. I mean, I guess I was for when stuff started, I was a bit younger
Starting point is 01:04:34 on YouTube and things. And like, yeah, there's there's a lot of things that I was like passionate about that I'm like, I think back to and I'm just like, yeah, I just either was wrong or I don't really like the tone that I put something in or so. I't know maybe it's like like Kai has such a massive platform so it's tough but it's like sometimes when I see this I'm like I know somebody who's 16 and listening to this will be like he's fucking 23 dude and I'm like I'm here I'm 28 and I'm like yeah I was pretty
Starting point is 01:05:00 dumb when I was 23 I had my frontal lobe developed and I was like, I need to change the way I'm doing everything online. I need to stop talking about the golf. I agree. I just think that there has to be someone who is saying these things, and then they have to be open to hearing it. I'm glad the criticism was there, because you watch it and it makes me sad more than anything
Starting point is 01:05:22 when they're pushing it around. You see what, the robot looks like a kid. And then the joke is that like we're bullying a kid in like the kind of park, I guess, is what it felt like. It's a little bit like, oh yeah, you were testing the self-defense mechanism. That's why you said all the words. Where you were doing a, you were playacting a bling. Your mom was fat. And like chugging, you're like, oh okay. We're testing it's a tolerance he got one in though with the fucking spring loaded headbutt
Starting point is 01:05:49 Yeah, that actually it is one of those like super old Where like the kid that's getting blue picks the Think about all the time that one that one kid that like gave the speech to the teacher about like how they're not teaching Anything do you guys know I'm talking about no the one kid with like law like I think I like long blonde hair And it you Jacob have you seen this speech before either? Can you look up fuck? What would it be called real quick Jacob? Can you pull up the photo? Oh? You guys better check yourself before you Friend you guys in the elevator lounge
Starting point is 01:06:23 This was in 2019 in New York Yeah, that was your anniversary the six-year anniversary of me and Jimmy Beast Concocting a plan for him to become rich and famous and me to become a small town podcaster He's like, please just don't ever work with Eddie. I have a feeling he's going to beat me up They're like the knees guy, but um, yeah this you guys ever seen this video. Let's see This is a classic. Oh captain by captain This is skate. This is Oklahoma State. This is a classic video I like the slam poet cadence.
Starting point is 01:07:05 You're giving him a packet yo! The only reason I mention this is this went viral as in a like yes like a bunch of kids in school being like this this is exactly right. And there's nothing wrong with this. I don't even remember why I brought it up. But the him saying the packet, you know, is on par to me of Paul Walker saying, I said, forget about it, cut. The biscuit.
Starting point is 01:07:38 So much, much in the way that this it's like the issue is the system. The issue is the circumstances that have it's like the issue is the system the issue is the Circumstances that have created this classroom environment, and it's not the teachers lazy lazy teacher 15 or not even 15 when I was 13, and I saw this video is like Okay, uh that about does it huh? Sorry guys, I'm trying to do stuff out. I actually really like that. Yeah, if I just started saying cuh. And actually, we should start calling me the road dog.
Starting point is 01:08:15 No, no. Sorry? With that. It scared me a little bit, but it kind of turned me on a little bit too. We're not gonna call you the road dog. We're not gonna call you any sort of dog. We'll call Eddie Eddie the road dog a bit. Oh, Eddie. Do you want to be the road dog? He fucking getting did Eddie back the road dog. Yeah, say it just like just refer to me as it. Yeah
Starting point is 01:08:33 No, thanks road dog. Do you is there anything that you want to? promote currently No, I'm working on some stuff, but I guess the last thing I made was my video where I got rid of my phone Or any mobile device for a month. Yeah that other phone. What's up? Yeah that other phone you're using No, I shot with a big camcorder. You know that yeah, but you you had that you took a landline with you Very long landline you actually filmed videos with your child that you have Where it's you've got a
Starting point is 01:09:10 You're wearing a rotary phone on your head, but yeah, and then also as always channel burback, which is with my brother where we talk about games and movies and TV and like make video essays and about games and movies and TV and like make video essays and twins. Yeah, that one's going to be I think that's going to be the next video. And then I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing next for my own stuff. So but I did have some come out a month ago or actually two videos, one on the Burbank
Starting point is 01:09:36 channel and then one on mine that if you didn't watch, they're there and you can go see them. They're there. Go ahead. Yeah, it is. Honestly, it's good content and I don't really like your shit, but those really landed for me. Those really earned for me, but those two were. I guess because I was in one of them.
