Sasquatch Chronicles - SC EP:1118 That's when I saw this thing
Episode Date: December 30, 2024Blake writes "Hey Wes, I listen to your show with my pops a lot we're both huge fans. I just wanted to share a encounter I had 2 years ago. I can't really type well so I would love to talk about it ov...er the phone maybe but I'll give you a brief summary. Me and my dad love nature I mean the mountains, hiking, camping anything with outdoors. One day me and my dad decided to do "bushcraft" for a day. Not clear about the time but I know it was reaching sunset so somewhere around 8 to 9 since it was summer. We shot up to Ashford WA which is known for bigfoot encounters. After doing our little "bushcraft" we decided to head back. On our way back my dad parked in this little game made trail off the rode. At this point it was it was still light out but you can see the sun set. My dad suggested I should go with him down the trail to do our bigfoot call. Me being tired wet, sandy, just overall dirty I decided to stay behind. After a little bit my dad turned the corner of the trail till he was out of site. Keep in mind my dad is wearing blue jeans, orange shit, and a pair of brown shoes. After he turned the corner I thought it would be a good idea to hide in the back of our car to scare him when he comes back. After ten minutes of no return I peaked my head up to see when he was on his way back. That's when I saw this thing it was at least 7-8 feet tall. It was jet black with some bark or moss tangled with us fur. My dad is wearing bright colors this thing was jet black. No one was out there besides me and my dad. This thing was carrying a fallen tree or a huge log. He was carrying it like he was playing tug of war. Like both his hands on it while jumping back like something was pulling it back. Sometimes he would stop and pound the stick with his fist. I really couldn't believe it so I peeked my head out the window to get clearer view. I saw more detail too much to write down so I prefer bto explain it over call. I yelled "NEBRASKA" as that's me and my dad's code word for trouble. I went back into the car to grave my phone to see if I can record it but by the time I peeked back out he was gone and the trees were moving like something ran past it and keep in mind... There was no wind. There was so many more details I would like to tell you." We will also be speaking to Tracy. Tracy writes "Hey Wes, I had a run in with something in the La Sal mountains just outside Moab , Utah in 2022 while hunting deer with my cousin. I never saw the creature but had something come into our camp and scream at us in the middle of the night and screamed for hours, while this thing was screaming something was circling our little tent and I could hear it breathing, it was a depressing sad breathing. Also the day before this occurrence while wearing camouflage and sitting in the bush glassing for deer an 80 foot quaky tree was pushed over toward us. Despite there not being any wind and it being a beautiful calm day, we just chalked it up to being a weird coincidence…. I'm interested in finding out if you have had other encounters in this area, thank for all you do and I love your show.. I didn't even register Bigfoot or even had it in my vocabulary but this experience led me to your show and now I'm looking to other possibilities. Thanks."

It looked like somebody was bent over and had their head in the window of the deer blind
and it either heard me or smelt me and he pulled his head out of the tent and stood straight up
and that shocked me.
They don't make people that that big.
The way it moved, almost as if it was gliding across the beach.
I've never seen anything moves like that in my life.
They were screaming at each other in gibberish.
It sounded like a language and they were chuntering away back and forwards, back and forwards, back and forwards, back and forwards.
I know what a bear looks like and there is no way on this planet that what I saw were bears.
What are you reporting?
Get somebody out here.
What's going on now, sir?
That's son of a bitch is about six.
This is about six foot nine. I don't know.
Is he a bouncer?
Yes, I'm looking right here.
Uh-uh.
Ho-ho.
Christmas.
Welcome to the show, everyone.
Thanks for being here tonight.
Got a great show plan for you.
We'll be chatting with Tracy.
And back in 2021, him and his friend had an encounter out there in Utah, something unknown
out there screaming at them.
And this went on for most of the night.
And whatever it was, it came into camp.
And it's interesting.
I was talking to Tracy.
off the air, asked him if he'd kind of share it on the air. He has a good friend of his who's in
construction and recently dug up some giant skulls. Kind of a weird story. We'll also be chatting
with Blake and Daniel. And in 2022 in Ashford, Washington, Blake had seen the creature. Him and his
dad were out hiking, doing bushcraft, and I'll kind of let the guys go into it. If you've had an encounter
and you'd like to be on the show, shoot me an email.

And I'm sure most of you have seen on TV or heard on the radio this Santa Tracker.
And this is actually a 70-year tradition.
It all started with a child's accidental phone call to a senior.
secret U.S. Air Force number.
The call went something like this.
Hello.
Oh, hi, is this Santa Claus?
I'm the commander of the Combat Alert Center.
My name is Bobo.
Can you transfer me to Santa?
Who is this?
My name is Bobo.
I have been a good boy this year.
Are you at least one of Santa's helpers?
Colonel Shoup, who actually took the phone call, his three children, explain how this
call happened.
I remember two phones on his desk.
One was this red phone.
Only a four-star general at the Pentagon, and my dad had the number.
This was the 50s.
This was the Cold War, and he would have been the first one to know if there was an attack on the United States.
So, first couple weeks of December in 1955, Dad was at the office, and the red phone rang.
He answered it, this is Colonel Schaup.
And then there was a small voice that just asked, is this Santa Claus?
Dad was very straight-laced, very disciplined.
He was annoyed.
He was upset.
He thought it was a joke.
Yeah, and so now the little voice is crying.
And dad realized that it wasn't a joke.
So he talked to him, ho-ho-hoed, and asked if he had been a good boy.
And may I talk to your mother?
And the mother got on and said, you haven't seen the paper yet?
There's a phone number to call Santa.
It's in this Sears ad.
Dad looked it up and there it was.
His red phone number and they had children calling one after another.
So he put a couple airmen on the phones to act like Santa Claus.
It got to be a big joke at the command center.
You know, the old man's really flipped his lid this time.
We're answering Santa calls.
The airmen had this big glass board with the United States on it in Canada.
and when airplanes would come in, they would track them.
And Christmas Eve of 1955, when Dad walked in,
there was a drawing of a sleigh with eight reindeer coming over the North Pole.
Dad said, what is that?
This is, Colonel, we're sorry.
We were just making a joke.
Do you want us to take that down?
Dad looked at it for a while,
and next thing you know, Dad had called the radio station
and had said, this is the commander at the Combat Lit Center,
and we have an unidentified flying object.
why it looks like a sleigh.
Well, the radio stations would call him like every hour and say,
where's Santa now?
And later in life, he got letters from all over the world,
people saying, thank you, Colonel, for having this sense of humor.
And in his 90s, he would carry those letters around with him
in a briefcase that had a lock on it, like it was top secret information.
You know, he was an important guy.
But this is the thing he's known for.
It was probably the thing he was proudest.
Oh, I'm sure, yeah.
A simple father trying to get a little boy to stop crying.
Don't cry, kid. Look, I am Santa Claus.
Ho, ho, ho. And whatever else Santa says.
The Santa Tracker was born.
Every hour of the day and night, the North American Air Defense Command is on alert,
watching for unknown or unfriendly aircraft approaching our continent.
A few moments ago, Norrat advised its component.
commands to be on alert for a special visitor.
However, there is no cause for alarm at this time.
Intelligence sources indicate the visitor is believed friendly
and will approach our borders from a northerly direction.
The big question on everyone's mind at NORAD concerns the exact mission of the unknown craft.
Some say it's red in color and will provide happiness for children everywhere.
But the situation at present is to wait and see.
We'll have updated reports throughout the day as information becomes available.
This is Air Force Sergeant Lee Mosley reporting from the Norad Combat Operation Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
What a legend that Colonel Harry Shoup was.
And what a legacy to leave behind.
Let's jump into it tonight.
I want to welcome Tracy to the show.
Tracy, thanks for coming on.
Hey, Wes.
Thanks for having me, man.
Yeah, and you had this encounter back in 2021 in Utah.
If you would just kind of start from the beginning, what were you guys doing?
And what happened?
Okay, so earlier that year, my good buddy and I had talked about doing a backpacking trip somewhere in northern Utah or eastern southern Utah.
And luckily, he was able to draw out a tag for archery up in the LaSalle Mountains just past Moab, Utah.
And so once he got his tag, we kind of started talking and said, why don't we just take?
turn that into our little backpacking trip. We'll hike in and hopefully get to see some scenery
and hopefully get a deer. So that was kind of the whole game plan. So we drove up there. We're from
southern Utah, St. George area, and Moab is about five hours northeast of us. So we drove up there
a couple days early to go kind of get a handle on the area and figure out where we wanted to go.
The weekend we got up there, it was kind of odd. The day that we got there, people were telling us that
two women were actually murdered a week before in this same area that we were headed to and that
they had no clue who it was or what happened. So we had that kind of in the back of our mind
as we're about to head up to the mountain that there's like a crazy person up here or you know just kind of be on alert so we get up to the mountain we park the truck and we kind of start our trek we use the it's called the burl friends loop at the base of mount peel in the la salle mountains we kind of use that to get past some of the thick forest area until you're
We could kind of just go wherever we wanted to.
We ended up hiking up about, I want to say,
three to five miles up the mountain.
And it was gorgeous.
We were totally isolated.
And that first day we were up there, we saw tons of deer.
A couple good bucks.
There were even elk bugling.
The weather was perfect.
It was awesome.
So we found this clearing that was 360 degrees.
surrounded by thick, dense aspen trees.
And in this clearing, a stream ran right through.
So we decided to put our tent right there.
We could get water if we needed water.
It was kind of a perfect little spot.
So we found our camp, went to bed, no problem, woke up the next day,
and kind of decided to go glass for deer and see what we could find, see if we could get lucky.
That first day, I guess it would be the second day, we were out there.
We're sitting up in the bush, totally camoed out.
As we're sitting there, kind of just looking around for deer, we hear a crack, and it's like,
sounds like a lightning bolt hitting something, but it was a tree snapping.
And this huge quaky tree, I want to say it was like 60 to 80 feet tall.
It was massive, right in front of us.
just falls and smashes right in front of us.
And we were just looking at each other like, oh my gosh,
it was like the loudest, craziest thing.
We kind of just thought it was cool, you know?
And then just kept doing our thing, hunting.
That day was pretty uneventful.
It was weird because we had seen so many deer.
And then the next morning, there was nothing on the mountain.
and I don't know if they got wind of us or what it was, but it went from like, just like heaven to nothingness as far as deer go.
So that night, we do our thing, we cook our dinner, get settled in for bed, go to sleep.
And at around 2 a.m. in the morning, both me and my buddy are woken up and there is the loudest,
scariest sound just coming right behind us in the forest up on this hill top.
And the way I would describe it is it was like an orchestra of like screams,
but it was only one thing screaming.
The scream was like low pitched, super low, middle, and very high pitched all at the same time.
We're sitting there in the tent, and he looks over at me, and he whispers,
it sounds like an effing dinosaur.
Or no, he said it sounds like an effing T-Rex, is what he said.
And I was so terrified.
We were both so terrified.
I just laid in my sleeping bag.
I had a 9mm, and I just had that up on my chest.
I thought about trying to get my phone out to record it.
But I was so scared that the light from my phone would give away my position in the tent.
So I just stayed perfectly still and I was just terrified.
We just sat there and this thing was just taking one deep breath, would scream so long-winded,
and then it would stop for a second, and then it would just keep going.
and it did that for like, I want to say at least two hours.
And while this thing was screaming,
we're sitting there just trying to figure out what in the hell is going on.
Both of us just terrified because we're out in the middle of nowhere.
It's pitch black and like there's nowhere to go.
We're just like sitting ducks at this point, whatever this thing is.
We could hear something moving and sort of,
circling around the tent while this thing's screaming.
Wes, I could hear it.
It was like three feet from my head.
I could hear it breathing.
And as it was breathing, it had like a sadness to it.
I don't know if that makes any sense.
But as it was like exhaling, it was kind of like moaning.
And so it was just walking around, circling around our tent.
we didn't get much sleep that night.
I think eventually after it had calmed down, I finally got some sleep,
and then like an hour later we were up.
The first thing we did when we got up was we looked for tracks,
and there was nothing.
There was no tracks.
I mean, the ground was pretty solid, dirt,
but there was grass and stuff,
and you would have never known that anything was walking around there.
But we finished that day hunting out there.
We had no run-ins with anything, still didn't see much out there.
We actually packed up and moved to a new area and tried that area.
And then we were out there for a couple more days.
And then we just called it and came home.
So that was my first and only, I guess, encounter, I guess you could say.
So Tracy, are you thinking that there's two of them?
Because there's one screaming and then something walking around.
your tent.
Well, as I started to think about it, that's kind of what I thought.
But I brought it up to my family and my sisters actually made a good point.
They said, what if that was an animal that was terrified from whatever that thing was
screaming and was kind of using you guys as like a block between it and whatever was screaming.
Like it was kind of like, oh, there's humans over here.
I'm over here, which is a possibility because I know that deer will run up to
run right up to hunters when they sense that there's a Sasquatch or something in the area.
So I thought that was kind of an interesting point, but it sounded big, whatever it was.
I mean, it could have been a bear or something crying as it was breathing,
but I don't know.
I've never heard anything like that.
Yeah, it could be.
I don't see a bear or a deer hanging around when one of these things is kind of up on the hillside screaming its head off, you know.
But it could be for sure.
Well, what did you guys think was going on that night?
You're lying in your tent.
You have your nine across your chest and you're kind of hoping for the best.
I mean, what did you think was going on?
Honestly, in my brain, it just wasn't registering.
it was it's all in my mind it kind of sounded like demonic so my think my brain more
gravitated towards like whatever the hell this thing is is not a good thing because it was so
the scream was just so intense and so terrifying and I mean after that incident I came home
and I just called myself thinking about it every day and so
I started researching like mountain lion sounds, bear sounds, elk sounds to try to see if like
maybe I just heard something was in distress or something.
And there's nothing on this planet that we know about that makes that noise.
So I think mostly that night we were both just like, well, we were scared and we just had
no clue what the hell was going on, what it was.
I'm always amazed by hunters' dedication to hunting.
I mean, did it concern you at all getting up the next morning and going out hunting?
Oh, yeah.
When I got up, it was actually still kind of dark outside,
and I was so exhausted from just laying in the same position.
I was afraid to move all night.
I didn't want to give away any part of my position in that tent.
The tent was pretty small anyways, like it's not.
like it would have a hard time finding us, but I was just, I didn't move. I just laid there,
had my gun next to me. And yeah, it was pretty scary. I remember waking up, getting our
headlamps on, and kind of trying to get ready for the day. And we had talked about it that next
morning like, dude, what was that? You know? But me and my buddy at that time, Sasquatch,
wasn't even on the radar.
So.
Yeah, it kind of sounds like a Sasquatch encounter.
Yeah, I want to pick your brain about the vocalization that you heard.
But at what point, you know, did you realize, oh, this might be, you know, a Sasquatch encounter?
Honestly, it wasn't until I started digging deeper and getting into podcasts.
And, you know, obviously I started listening to your podcast.
And then I kind of started
YouTubeing
just Sasquatch screams and sounds.
An interesting thing that happened was
there's a Netflix documentary,
I think it's Unsolved Mysteries,
like the newer version of it.
They go down to the Navajo Nation in Utah
and the lady talks about a Sasquatch encounter she has.
And she recorded it screaming
that is probably the closest thing.
That recording that she has on that documentary
is probably the closest thing to what we had listened to
or heard that night.
So I kind of started to put like two and two together
that this could have possibly been, you know,
a Sasquatch or something unknown.
Yeah, I'll see if I can't find that piece of audio.
Obviously, I'm not going to do it right now,
but I'll see if I can't find it
and loop back around with you.
I'm really curious to know what you heard.
You said it was Unsolved Mysteries, and it was a documentary?
It's Unsolved Mysteries.
It's a Netflix documentary, and they kind of go through a bunch of paranormal stuff.
One of the episodes is about the Navajo Nation and all the crazy paranormal things that happened there.
And one of them is about Sasquatch.
I guess they have Sasquatch encounters on the reservation.
Yeah, I'll have to check that out.
You know, it's unnerving when, and in my opinion, I think there was two of them.
I don't think it was a bear or a deer down there hanging around camp.
I mean, I wasn't there.
I'm just giving you my opinion.
But it's very unnerving when one of these things is just screaming.
And you kind of made the comment of like, it reminded you of almost demonic.
And I know in a couple situations, I thought that.
It's the very first thing.
I thought, wow, that sounds really demonic.
and it's kind of hard to explain to someone who's never heard it,
but I get where you're coming from.
While it was screaming and whatever was in your camp,
you said this went on for about two hours?
So we woke up.
I remember checking my watch and it was around 2 a.m.
And it was a good two hours nonstop, just straight.
it would take a little pause, scream for, I don't know, 10 to 15 seconds, pause, and then just repeat and just did that for like two hours.
Jeez.
You know, it makes me wonder why it was so pissed off.
And if another one was in camp while this one's kind of up on the hill screaming at you guys,
makes you wonder why there'd be another one in your camp.
Have you guys ever gone back to this place?
We haven't. We've talked about it. He's kind of on board now, I think, maybe with the idea of Sasquatch. We've talked about maybe going back up there and putting up some trail cams and just going to the exact same spot and just kind of make a little thing of it to see if anything happens. Might be kind of cool. I don't know.
Yeah, I would be careful doing that
I mean the one screaming at you
You know from I know it was close
But kind of at a distance
I mean you hear encounters like that
Eyewitnesses report that all the time
What concerns me is what was actually in your camp
You know I ask everyone on the show
What do you think Sasquatch is? What's your take Tracy
You know Wes I don't know
I
I kind of lean more towards
this thing is supernatural
and has some like
supernatural spiritual
component to it
I know that based off a lot
where a lot of people have said they've seen
that obviously they're physical
but I say that because
I feel like there's got to be an extra component
to these things otherwise
you know we would already
it would be easy to find them and we would know them
know all about them
so I don't know
I think that they are a supernatural being of some sort, if that makes any sense.
Yeah, I get completely where you're coming from.
I mean, I said the same thing when I heard them growl.
My very first comment was, that sounds very demonic.
And, you know, I've heard many growls, but that growl was on a whole different level.
Sounds unnatural.
Yeah, it does.
It's very unnatural.
It's exactly what it's a perfect wording for it.
Tell me about your friend.
You were telling me this before on the air that he is in construction and he had dug up some giant bones.
So I'm going to try to keep this kind of vague to protect him and the things that he has going on as far as the business and things that are associated with the story.
but somebody I know is in the construction world here in Utah.
He does just about everything, works on big projects.
Last summer, he was approached by his excavating company that does dirt work for him.
They're doing a big project, and they were just moving a lot of dirt, getting things ready so that they could pour concrete.
and start building this, I think it was a resort or something like that.
And this happened in a part of southern Utah.
It's about an hour north of the north rim of the Grand Canyon.
But on the Utah side.
Anyways, they came up to him and told him that they were digging
and they were in a mini excavator as they were digging through the dirt.
they had hit bones.
And so they immediately stopped because you're supposed to stop
and you're supposed to call it in
in case it's like a Native American,
basically Native American bones or artifacts or things like that.
And then authorities come.
And they can basically tell you if you can keep digging or not.
So I guess when they were digging, they hit bones.
They started to dig around where they had.
hit. What they figured out was there was a full skeleton that was sitting down holding its knees.
And when they had dug, they had actually clipped the knees off of this thing. And then that was the
first part that they had exposed. After they had kind of dug down a little more to kind of see what
was there, they found what I could only describe what they, what he told me was a giant
skeleton and that once they got to the skull, they actually handled the bones. They picked it up
and he said he could fit his head inside of the skull and that the jaw bone, which was detached,
wrapped clear around his head. It was so huge. And one thing he had told my friend is that
this wasn't the first time that they dug up these huge skeletons in that area.
And so I guess what had happened was they called it in, they stopped digging in that area,
and then an official came, I don't know what agency they called,
but an official came, collected the bones, and they were off on their merry way,
and then the project just kept going.
So that's the giant bones.
story from last summer that I know about. And I had asked if they had pictures, because obviously I
wanted to see it. And he said he wasn't sure. He, yeah, he hadn't really talked to him about
if they had taken pictures or not. He knows that they handled it. And he was relaying what
they had described to him to me. So, yeah, that's interesting. You know, throughout history,
we've dug up giants, their bones anyway.
The fact that he was so kind of offhanded on if they have pictures or not,
kind of makes me believe them a little bit.
Because in that line of work, you know, if you, let's say it was Native American bones
they were pulling up, which according to, you know, with the school size doesn't sound like
a Native American.
But I'm sure there's some law against, you know, taking the bones out, taking pictures with
them. It's probably desecrating a corpse or something like that. I'd be real curious to know if they
have pictures. I'll have to ask Kathy Strain. She's kind of in the Big Fort world. She's an
archaeologist and she would know more about this whole situation. It's kind of weird, though,
you know, on these job sites, when you come across to grave or bones, when the government
comes out, generally they shut you down. There's no more work. What's weird in this situation,
situation because they were giant-sized bones.
They were like, okay, we got the bones.
You guys are good to go.
See you let her, fellas.
It's just bizarre to me.
Assuming it's all true, what do you think that these guys dug up?
You know, I've researched like the Lovelock caves in Nevada,
and I know that in the Native American histories, they talk about giants and stuff.
I know a lot of people that sounds super weird
because a lot of people, if you tell them that,
you know, there's all these old stories about giants.
They look at you like you're kind of crazy,
just like if you talk about Bigfoot.
But, I mean, the stories are there.
I know the Bible talks about it.
But, yeah, as far as the trustworthiness of that story,
I bet my life on it 100%.
My friend is the type of person who he's not into any of,
that type of stuff, any paranormal or anything like that, it's not on his radar.
So for him to like come out and talk about that was pretty bizarre.
But I do think it's kind of weird that they just came, got the bones, and then they're like,
okay, we're good here.
And I think it's because they'd already been there before and already collected giant skeletons.
Yeah, it's kind of a catch-22.
you know, in that situation, you do have to call the authorities.
You know, if you keep something, you run the risk of going to federal prison.
In the minute you call the government, they're just going to come and take it anyway.
It's so bizarre that they cover it up.
You know, you brought up the Lovelock caves.
And, you know, back in 1911, when they were pulling that guana out of their,
they were pulling giant skeletons out of that cave.
And it's so weird, they all vanquoise.
vanished today, but what didn't vanish is, you know, the weapons that they used, the shoes, the
sandals, I mean, none of it would fit a normal-sized human being. It's just frustrating because
you know they're covering it up. Someone is anyway. Yeah, it's odd. I remember years ago I went to the
museum in Chicago. I can't remember what museum that is, but it's that huge museum. I think it's the
largest Native American. It has the largest selection of Native American artifacts in the
country. And I remember going there and seeing spears that were huge. And in my mind, I'm like,
why would they make spears so massive? But, you know, looking back after like doing research
on this stuff, I'm like, those could have been, you know, found with giant bones,
or things of that nature,
but they just don't tell you about it.
Yeah, it makes you wonder if they're covering it up
to kind of cover up the true history
as far as what went on on this planet.
It's hard to say,
but you heard a lot of cover-ups
when it comes to these giant skeletons
and there's a long history of people digging them up.
I would love to know if those guys have pictures.
I'll have to check to make sure that
that's something I can post.
I don't want to go to prison for posting pictures of, you know, I'm sure there's some weird law against that,
but I would love to know if those guys have pictures.
And you know, that encounter that you had, I mean, it would have terrified me, man.
I mean, I don't know if I would have gotten hunting the next day, but.
I'm kind of glad that we didn't see whatever it was.
It's better, I think right now at this point, it's kind of better not knowing than maybe
having a glimpse of whatever that thing was.
Yeah, I agree with you.
It's kind of hard to argue with that.
I really appreciate you sharing it.
And the whole giant story, I'm fascinated by that.
I would love to know if those guys have pictures.
I was going to ask you how big that skull was,
but when you said your buddy put it over his head,
I mean, that kind of tells you how big it was.
I'll keep in touch with you because I'm going to try to see if he can contact
anybody and see if we can find any pictures because I wouldn't be surprised if
I mean somebody had to have taken some pictures of this thing I know like I mean if you're
seeing something like that you want to take a picture of it you know and this happened last
summer so if I find any pictures I'll definitely send them your way please do and it was a
real pleasure chatting with you Tracy I sure appreciate you coming on the show hey thank you
You're awesome, man. Appreciate you.
And the members and I have been kind of keeping track of this whole drone situation.
I know it was like a week or two ago.
They were saying it's coming from an Iranian mothership parked off of the east coast of the United States.
You know, like some battleship from Iran sitting out there, sending off drones.
And it's weird.
There's like no follow-up questions from our trusted news sources out there.
They're not like, okay, so there's a Iranian ship sitting off our east coast and we're not doing anything about it.
I guess they threw that one out the window.
This new theory is it's from China.
And the title of this soundbite I'm going to play says, we're going to get hit in all caps.
A China expert warns of an attack on U.S. soil.
Let's take a listen.
Welcome back.
now to China at least 17 U.S. military bases near Chinese-owned farmland, reportedly seeing a surge
in drone activity and sightings in recent weeks. The sightings happening near bases in Hawaii
and installations in Utah, California, Maine, and Florida. House Foreign Affairs Committee
Chairman Michael McCall has been warning about the drones in focus these last couple of weeks.
He says they're from China. My judgment, based on my experience, is that those
are over a military.
Is this guy in a bathroom or what?
And most likely are coming from the People's Republic of China.
Tommy's China is very good at this stuff.
And we know they bought land around military bases.
This would be very consistent with their policy over the last couple of years.
Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville was with me this week.
He weighed in on this yesterday.
Watch this.
Are we buying drones still from DJI, a Chinese drone maker?
Oh, we're buying drones from China. There's no doubt about that. I talked to a drone maker the other day, and basically I said, why are we buying drones from China? They have better technology, Maria, than what we have that handles a lot of the technology parts like that works with different type of materials, different type of plastics. They make them cheaper, but they make them better. Our technology is way, way behind. And I guess that's the reason we're buying them from them. But again, that's something else that needs to be discussed with,
Armed services, both the House and the Senate.
And we all know, you know, that's just some flyby and news reporting agency.
Let's go to our trusted government and get an update.
I just want to add a few comments on the reports of drone activity here on the East Coast, particularly in and around New Jersey.
We have no evidence at this time that the reported drone sightings pose a national security or a public safety threat or have a foreign nexus.
The Department of Homeland Security and the FBI are investigating these sightings,
and they're working closely with state and local law enforcement to provide resources
using numerous detection methods to better understand their origin.
Using very sophisticated electronic detection technologies provided by federal authorities,
we have not been able to, and neither have state or local law enforcement authorities,
corroborate any of the reported visual sightings.
So there you go.
There's an update on the mysterious drones.
Well done, everyone.
And next up on the show, I want to welcome Blake.
Blake, thanks for coming on.
It's an honor.
The honor's mine.
The honor is mine having you.
And I know we got your dad on here.
Dan, welcome to the show.
Thank you for being here.
Yeah, man.
Thanks for having us.
Blake's didn't want to talk to you for a while, so he's really excited about it.
Yeah, I can't wait to chat with him.
and I know that you're into Bigfoot, Dan, there was something that happened to you when you were younger and we'll get to that in the moment.
But Blake didn't buy into it so much.
It's just more like a fun thing for you guys to go out and do.
But there was one day that kind of changed where Blake did see the creature.
Blake, if you would take me back to 2022, what were you guys doing?
And what happened?
Yeah, sure.
So me and my dad, we love the outdoors.
We love mountains.
We love nature.
We love camping, hiking.
And so we lived in the mountains for a good chunk of our life.
He really taught me a lot.
And so we like bushcrafting, just surviving just off scratch, just off the land.
And we've been doing it for a long time.
And just two summers ago, we just wanted to see if we could go up there and bushcraft because I've been begging him to.
It's been a while.
And it's summer school is out.
Like, let's do it, man.
So he said, yeah.
And we had a nice little road trip up to Ashford.
And we got there.
It was almost sunset.
was still light outside.
It was still light outside.
We pulled off the side of a road coming from, it was between, I want to say, it was off
Skate Creek Road on the Ashford side.
We pulled over, went down some dirt roads and just was being goofy, you know, go out there
and make weird noises, knock on trees, do all that corny Sasquatch looking stuff.
Then we saw a bunch of elk on the side of the road and we pulled off the road and there was
a dirt road going back towards the elk.
So I got out and I and I walked down that way.
I don't know, maybe three, four hundred feet around the corner out of Blake's site.
And we always have these little corny code words.
Like if he yells out or I yell out Nebraska, that means like there's a problem, like run or like there's something going on.
And I don't know why we picked Nebraska.
And so we, I was, I went down there and I heard Blake.
yell Nebraska.
And you know your own kids, you know, when something's wrong.
I could tell something's wrong in his voice.
And I come running back to the car after a minute or so.
I get back and he told me he saw Bigfoot.
And I didn't believe him at first.
I didn't believe him up until just a year ago, man,
because, you know, he never ever lies to me.
And, you know, you can kind of tell when your kids lie to you.
And so it's been a few years now.
and nothing's changed on what he said he saw.
And so it must have been about 40, 50 feet behind me and I didn't see it.
But I remember wondering why the elk got so spooked and ran off.
I didn't see it that time.
So prior to that, we went to this little river and like just messing around trying to put day bushcraft.
And so, yeah, we pulled into that place where the elk ran off.
and my dad was like, hey, I'm going to go walk down that, was it a game-made trail?
It was like a side-by-side vehicle type trail.
Okay.
And so he asked if I wanted to come with and do some calls.
I said no because I was tired.
My feet were wet, sandy.
I did not feel like moving.
And so he got out of the car and started to walk.
and me being kind of childish, I was like, hey, I want to scare my dad.
And so I looked in the mirror, and once he turned the corner, I jumped in the back of our car.
Because we have a car where it's an SU.
Yeah.
And so you could crawl to the trunk from the backseat.
So I did.
And there's a bunch of tools there, right?
So I buried myself in there because I wanted my dad to come back and think I was gone and scare him.
And so about like five minutes came by and the tools were like laying on top of me.
And like it was really starting to hurt.
So I kind of push it off myself and I got up and to like check if my dad was on his way pack yet.
that's what I saw this jet black like seven to eight feet tall it looked like a
gorilla um it still really scares me to even think about it sometimes because uh like when you
are fascinated with bigfoot like I wasn't sure if it was him because like so many things
were going into my mind because like
I'm I'm Christian so I thought
at first it was something spiritual
I thought it was a bear on its high
legs I just
I think you didn't really believe like I do
yeah I mean I think you thought it was more of a joke
right um and like
I'm kind of shaking right now
it was scary um
and so it kind of looked like
oh by the way
my dad was wearing bright blue jeans
a brown coat this same exact
coat in an orange shirt and this thing was black like i mean black so it was not my dad it was coming
out of the woods facing the woods right and it was carrying like this logger this big log or this
tree kind of almost how like you would play tug a tug a war it was kind of like pulling and it would
like lean forward like something was pulling it back into the
woods, but I didn't see that. I only saw him trying to pull it out. And like two times he would
stop there and pause and he would grab his fist. He would like pull it up and just slam on the
like two, like three times. And then he would stop, pull it for about like five seconds. And then he
would pound it again with his fist. That's when I like, my stomach dropped. Like I thought like,
this actually might be Bigfoot.
So I jumped.
And I think I cut myself too because, like, dude, there's like tools and I jumped.
I climbed over to the front seat and I opened the door to see like a clearer view.
And that's when I saw him and like this was actually him now.
Like I was not nine, like I wasn't 99% sure.
Like I'm like 100% sure.
That's when I saw like so much.
much details.
Like, there was, like, bark, like, on his fur.
So, like, moss kind of been, like, he scratched his back on the tree or, like, he was
laying on the ground type thing.
His ears were kind of, his ears were black as well.
I'm not sure if they had fur on them or if his skin was just black.
And so I was freaking out, and I thought, hey, I need to record this.
But first, I need to make sure my dad is, my dad will be fine.
So that's when I yelled like, Nebraska, super loud.
I sounded like a girl.
I was freaking out.
And so that's when I dove back into the car and try to find my phone because I really want to get this thing.
My phone, I don't remember where it was.
So I was like tearing the car apart.
And then I found my phone.
It was like under the seat.
And so I tried to record the whole encounter, but I was really shaky.
And by that time I got out, it was gone.
And you could tell it ran back into the woods because the trees were, the tree branches were like super wavy.
Like something ran through it.
And at that time, there was no air.
Like the air and the wind was like cool.
Like there was no breeze.
I mean, a slight one, but like not a.
enough to like move anything.
And I kind of recorded the thing, but I must have zoomed in pretty far since I was in a
panic shock.
And so that is just my story.
And then he came back to the car and we drove off.
And he was just like, hey, what did you see?
And I was just like, I saw it.
He was white.
I saw it.
I was like I couldn't spit anything out.
I just saw something.
I just didn't know what he saw.
I could tell he saw something.
I didn't know what it was.
He was white as, yeah, he was, he was panicked.
I remember that.
But I didn't see nothing.
Really panicked, yeah.
And so that wraps up mine.
You know, after we got off the phone the other day, guys,
I kind of looked up the area where you guys were at.
And this year alone, I've had four sightings come out of there.
Let me ask you, Blake.
I mean, I know that you don't know what it was doing and I don't know what it was doing, but what do you make of it kind of pulling that stick out of the forest?
I mean, it sounds a little bit more than a stick.
Sounds like a, you know, a tree or something.
But what do you think it was doing?
I've been told that, like, they make their houses out of, like, fallen trees as, like, a little hut.
So I think, I mean, to my understanding or, yeah, I thought he was trying to build his home.
but it could have been snagged on something or something could have been pulling it in like another big foot.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's a good point, Blake.
I mean, he could have been, you know, you hear about these shelters or these lean-toes that people find.
And maybe he was doing something with that.
It's kind of weird.
He was kind of pulling on it and hitting it with his fist.
You should wonder if it was like stuck on something.
What were some things that stood out to you when you were looking at this thing?
You had mentioned you had seen its ears?
Yeah, yeah. So the ears were pitch black. I couldn't see if there was fur on the ears to make it black or if it was just skin. The ears looked funny. They're kind of like, here let me show you. They're like they're kind of like pulled out. Kind of like if you ever seen the show Beavis and Butthead when Beavis pulled the shirt over his head and like his ears were like exposed. It kind of looked like that.
that like they were really gooofy um but it was just pitch black and um yeah they were
unforgettable he had long long long like just long arms long legs and i'd normally long arms and
like a normal human like his arms kind of almost met his knees which is really long uh he looked
like he had some, some, some, some, some muscle because his back was pretty toned, uh,
from the looks of it. He looked like he, she was strong. Uh, his feet were not black. I mean,
it was kind of like dark brown, but like you could tell they didn't match his fur in his ears,
um, which I thought was weird, which leaves me to believe maybe there's fur on his ears to
make it black. That's all.
You know, Blake, it's very interesting to me.
You had mentioned the ears were kind of flared out.
And I've probably heard about half a dozen reports of people.
Well, they'll say that.
You know, the ears were, you know, kind of this odd kind of popped out.
A lot of times when people see Sasquash, they're really close to the head.
Did he ever turn and look at you?
Or were you mainly kind of seeing him from the back?
I mainly saw him from the back.
I mean, when I yell Nebraska and dove into the car to get my phone, maybe he would have looked behind him, but I didn't see his face.
Yeah, you know what makes these accounts scary is you don't know what it's going to do.
Most of the time, they'll leave you alone and just go, they'll kind of go away once they realize you're there.
And it kind of sounds like that's what he did.
Dan, I wanted to ask you, because you're really into Bigfoot, and you had a couple weird things happened to you when you were younger.
If you would, tell me about it.
Well, this was, I was 17. I'm 41 now. I was with two of my buddies. And I didn't, you know, I believed in Bigfoot a little bit. I've seen the Patty films and all that stuff. But I wasn't really into it. And we went up to a port towns in Washington. There's a place you might know where it is, Fort Warden State Park. And they have the bunkers. They got the lower bunkers. And they have, you can go through this trail about a half a mile to the upper bunkers, which are kind of underground and kind of spooky. And, you know, back then.
there was like a lot of rumors of like satanic coasts up there and doing all this weird stuff.
So we were kind of intrigued.
It was homecoming night and me and two buddies went up there and we hiked up to the upper bunkers.
And we get up to the top of the hill and it kind of goes to a T.
And we didn't know if we're going to go right or left.
And we saw, I believe it was a coyote.
I don't know if it was it was gray or white.
It was that kind of shade.
but it ran towards the left.
And so we're like, all right, we'll go that way, you know.
And so it ran that way.
And we followed two minutes later.
We go to the T.
We take a left.
And we stopped and we turned off our video camera because we were going to smoke a cigarette.
And we were minors then.
And so we didn't want anyone to watch the camera see us smoking or whatever.
And we're all three standing there.
And about 20 feet away, 25 feet away.
it was completely dark.
It was about 11 o'clock at night.
I think it was November October, November.
And about 25 feet away in the brush, we heard this scream.
And, Wes, I'm telling you, it was extremely loud.
It was something like I've never heard at that point.
I've heard similar screams like that now from your show.
That's why I'm pretty convinced.
That's what it was.
So, I mean, it was loud.
It was something to human.
couldn't make. I mean, it blew us all away. We all kind of froze and looked at each other and
we were like, do you hear that? And it was impossible not to hear. And then immediately after
we said that, it happened again and it was louder. And then immediately following that second,
yell, we heard these two loud, I want to say stumps, but it's almost as if somebody was like
up in a tree with two bowling balls and just let one go and then one after like that. It hit the
ground that hard in the brush like boom boom and uh we immediately just took off and ran down the
trail uh to get down or down the paved road to get down to our car we were so scared we were going to
jump off the cliff just to get down there we didn't know what the hell this thing was and uh it was it was
terrifying then uh had another uh time actually i think like forgot to mention this where we went camping
and we went up this logging road to this upper part of the mountain up by snook pass and uh we
get out of the Jeep and we both kind of we're about 40 feet away from each other.
I was going to walk down this one trail.
We heard a growl and you might know more than I would.
I don't know if bears or cougars are out of sight and they growl at you,
but we heard like a low monotone type grumbling type growl.
And then we just looked at each other and ran to the Jeep, you know, so.
Yeah, you know, I mean, a cougar will growl, a bear will growl.
you'll probably never hear a cougar growl because you'll never see it i mean even when they attack you
you you'll probably never see them coming uh but it has a very distinct i mean it sounds like a
feline and if you can imagine in your head what a bear sounds like when it growls that's that's
kind of what it sounds like and it's a very distinct sound the vocalization must have been something
to make you know a bunch of grown men take off yeah and then the two stomps that's what threw me off
Like it sounded like it was something like with two feet that like stomped at us like to, you know, I don't know.
I really couldn't tell you because I didn't see anything.
And I've never seen one.
I've heard Knox.
I went out in the woods and and I've heard strange things in the woods, but nothing that I can 100% confirm it was Sasquots.
But that, I mean, that stream though.
I mean, it was so close.
I don't think a cougar would scream at us like that.
I don't know, though.
I really don't know.
But yeah, it was terrifying, man.
Yeah, you'll notice too, like, unless you're really close by a cougar, they kind of lack the amplitude.
And so when you hear them, I mean, it's a very distinct feline sound when they scream.
I wanted to ask you, you know, a father knows when his kid is scared, whether he's screaming Nebraska or, you know, or whatever.
You know when your kid's scared, the tone in his voice.
When you came back, what was going through your mind when Blake had told you what he had seen?
Honestly, I thought he was, I thought he was BSing me.
I thought he was just kidding.
I thought that up until just even like six months ago.
You know, I would tell him that I believed him, but I was just like, man, I don't, you know, I don't know.
Or maybe I was jealous because he said he saw one.
And I was close by and I didn't hear or see anything.
But knowing my kid, you know, Blake's a pretty good boy, man.
We have a good relationship.
You know, I'm a single father.
And, you know, we don't lie to each other.
And I would have gotten out of him by now if he was.
if he was lying to me straight on, you know, like he would smile.
Like, there's things that you would do.
And I remember asking him, you know, I'm in recovery.
And so I had to step away for a little bit and go to treatment and get some help.
And when I got out, we sat and talked a lot.
And I've asked him just straight in his eyes, you know, like, you know, did you really see this?
And he says, yeah, I did.
I'm like, no joke.
And he doesn't even tell everybody.
Like, it's not like he did.
He would say it and go post.
it on Facebook. Like, it's just between him and I, really. You know what I mean? So, like,
so, yeah. So, you know, I got to believe him. You know what I mean? I'm jealous, of course,
because I want to see one. But then again, I don't know if I do. I mean, I do, but I hear all
these scary encounters. I don't know if how I would handle it. You know what I mean? I don't
know. He's not hearing the Henderson's I heard. Yeah, it makes you wonder if the creature had seen
you guys kind of park and you kind of walk off Dan. And then it kind of came out in the open and didn't
realize Blake was there. It's a cool account. I'm sure it wasn't cool for Blake. Let me ask you,
Dan, I ask everyone on the show, what do you think Sasquatch is? What's your take?
Oh, man, you know, I thought, I hear that on your show all the time and I thought about it so many
times. Honestly, I think it's a flesh and blood creature, right? There's obviously some weird
spiritual aspect to it from some accounts.
I don't know.
But I think it's something real, you know, like any other animal, which is a lot smarter,
like almost intelligence, kind of like us.
And I think the government knows about it.
I think they're covering it up, you know, because, you know, the Endangered Species Act,
all that, you know, all this stuff you guys have talked about, I believe that 100%.
It makes total sense, you know.
And people say, well, why aren't there clear footage and pictures?
and I tell them there is, but people don't come out with it because then you get called a clack,
you know what I mean?
Or it's fake.
And so, you know, why put it out there?
But I think it's a flesh and blood.
I think it'll bleed and I think it'll die.
But I don't know.
There's weird stuff that goes on with it, too.
You know what I mean?
From what I've heard.
Yeah, there is a lot of weird stuff that goes on in people's encounters.
But, you know, I'm with you, Dan.
I think that they're very physical and they can't bleed.
I've had people shoot them.
and some people claim to kill them.
What's your take, Blake?
What, you know, what do you think Sasquatch is?
Dude, it is really hard to think because, you know, I'm really spiritual.
Like, I am Christian, so it's hard to think because, like, I feel like if it was spiritual,
why would it be doing what it was doing on that day?
Like, if it was spiritual, why would it be trying to live its life is what I kind of
I feel like.
And the way it was shaped, it just looked too, too real to, like, be anything spiritual.
So I would have to say it's flesh and blood.
Yeah.
You know, Blake, you bring up some good points.
And you're right.
There's a lot of accounts where it seems like, you know, an animal doing what an animal
normally does and there's nothing weird about it.
And that's kind of the confusing part.
you know, they eat, they poop, but all this other weird stuff going on.
It's hard to know really what's going on.
And, you know, when you're out there, young man, keep your eyes and your ears open.
And I really thank you for coming on and sharing it.
Do you guys have any other plans on going back out?
We haven't for a little bit.
I'm getting, I'm going to process to get my wife back together right now.
And so he's staying with Grandma for a few months.
and I'm living in a clean and sober home for a few months until I get back on my feet.
I got 111 days sober today and, you know, just trying to get us back together.
So we haven't had a chance to go back out yet, but we plan on it here in the upcoming weeks.
Yeah, well, congratulations, Dan, on 111 days sober.
And, you know, that's a big mountain to climb.
And we all have our demons in our lives, you know, that we struggle with.
And I admire the fact that you went and tried to get help.
and trying to, you know, get things in order.
And you have to for your kid.
It's Blake's an impressive young man.
And I really admire that about you, Dan.
Thanks, brother.
Yeah, and you had mentioned you had a YouTube channel.
What's your YouTube channel, Dan?
Okay, it's at Daniel Bradford, 1501,
or you can type in Diary of a recovering fentanyl addict.
I just try to spread some hope and experience out there
for anybody out there struggling with addiction.
or alcoholism, stuff like that.
You know what I mean?
Spread some positivity.
And there's videos from where I was in addiction to me getting sober and to my life
and recovery today.
So thanks, man.
Yeah, I hope people go and check it out.
And especially people who are kind of struggling that they'll kind of go and see your
progress.
And I really appreciate you sharing that, Dan.
And I can't thank you guys enough for coming on.
Blake, it was a pleasure having you on.
Like I said, young man, keep your eyes and your ears.
open while you're out there. Always be aware of your surroundings. But thank you so much, guys,
for coming on. Thank you. Yeah, it was, I can scratch this off my bucket list now because
this is one of my life goals. So thank you for putting me on here. You made his whole year.
Thanks, guys. Appreciate it. And that's it for tonight, everyone. Remember, if you've had an encounter,
shoot me an email. My email address is Wes at Sasquatch Chronicles.com.
And if you get a chance, check out Sasquatch Chronicles.com, you can become a member and get additional shows.
Happy New Year, everyone.
Happy holiday.
Happy holiday.
Happy holiday.
While the merry bells keep ringing, happy holiday to you.
It's the holiday season.
And Santa Claus is coming round
The Christmas snow is white on the ground
When old Santa gets into town
He'll be coming down the chimney down
He'll be coming down the chimney down
It's the holiday season
And Santa Claus has got a toy
For every good girl and good little boy
Santa's a great big bundle of joy
When he's coming down the chimney down
When he's coming down the chimney down
He'll have a big fat pack upon his back
And lots of goodies for you and for me
So leave a peppermint stick for old St. Nick
Hang it on the Christmas tree
It's a holiday season
So a hoop-de-do and dickory dock
Don't forget to hang up your sock
Because just exactly at 12 o'clock
He'll be coming down the chimney down
He'll be coming down the chimney down
He'll have a big backpack upon his back
And lots of goodies for you and for me
So leave a peppermann stick
For old St. Nick
Hanging on a Christmas tree
It's a holiday season
So a hoop-de-do
And dickory dock
Don't forget
To hang up your sockos just exactly a 12 o'clock key will be coming down the chimney, coming down the chimney down.
Happy holiday!
Happy holiday!
Happy holiday!
Happy holiday!
While the merry bells keep ringing, happy holiday to you!
