Sasquatch Chronicles - SC EP:167 That is when the rock throwing started

Episode Date: November 22, 2015

I will be speaking to Jeb who says "I took my 4-wheeler out to check out on my tree stand as I approached the tree stand I noticed it had been ripped off of the tree and looked like it had been run ov...er by a truck. There was so much damage, I just could not figure out why someone would do that. I heard some strange vocalizations and decided to head back to my 4-wheeler, when I got to the 4-wheeler it had been flipped over.I just left the 4-wheeler moments prior. I was able to flip my 4-wheeler back up and that is when the rock throwing started. I raced out of there. I told my father what happened and he told me that he had been chased out of that area by something big, black and on two legs. Years later I had a visual sighting and I was not the only person who saw it. It looked like a large gorilla on the hill. He just stood there and watched us, finally it turned and walked over the hill.....it was weird"   Luke also joins the show and shares a very strange late night encounter. I had Luke's father on a few weeks ago and he shared what was going on around his property.   I will be speaking to Trevor who is from Washington State. Trevor was out for a hike and came across some very large tracks walking across the road. To see the photos he submitted, visit the episode page on our website HERE   The tracks are some of the best prints I have seen.

Starting point is 00:00:02 Five, five, four, four, three, three, two, one, one. When I had come down this hill, I had seen this creature cross the road. They would have ripped my locked door from my truck, extracting me from my vehicle. I know what a damn thing I could have done about it. This thing I got to notice in its eyes. His eyes was real, real evil, real sinister looking. You know, the look it was given me.
Starting point is 00:01:00 Hello? Get somebody out here. What's going on now, sir? That son of a bitch is about six foot. Sir? Yes, I'm looking right heading. Sasquatch Chronicle. Place where people share their accounts.

I know researcher Mark Zasky's coming in from Florida, and he should be here tomorrow. We're going to be shooting a lot of things,
Starting point is 00:03:01 and I'll be posting it to the website. I'm going to take him up to ape canyon. I'm going to take him to the ape caves. A lot of the different sites that you may have heard about if you don't live here in Washington State, but you may not have seen. And I'm hoping to film a lot of that and maybe go out to a few areas. And we'll have our cameras with us and we'll bring you guys back some good footage. Hopefully we'll get lucky out there and see a Sasquatch.
Starting point is 00:03:27 So look for that next week. Well, I want to welcome Jeb to the show. Jeb, thanks for coming on the show, man. I appreciate you being here. No problem. Now, you had three strange encounters, and one of the encounters, actually was a siding. But if you would,
Starting point is 00:03:44 kind of tell us about the other two encounters before you jump into your siding. If you would, what part of the country did the siding happen? And also, just kind of tell the audience what you're out doing
Starting point is 00:03:55 and walk us right into the encounter. Okay. Well, the first one happened in New York. I live in a little town called Fort Leiden, it's on the edge of that around that state park. And my father, wanted me to go up and check a hunting stand to make sure it was there usable for the hunting season some of it. So I hopped on the ATV and I took off up the trails. And when I reached the
Starting point is 00:04:26 end of the trail where we normally parked ATV, I walked in, there's about five miles, I walked in about two miles. I came to where he put this tree stand. Now, what the tree stand is about 75 feet away, there's an old fence line. That's how I know where the tree stand is. While I'm looking for a tree stand, I can't find. I don't see where it's supposed to be. So I start looking for it. And as I'm looking for it, I smell this smell of like a dead decaying animal.
Starting point is 00:05:00 So while I'm looking for the tree stand, I was looking at the tree stand. I could see if there was a dead animal around. Well, I found the tree stand over by the fence line all twisted. up like someone ripped it off where it was and twisted it up. I didn't know if a another hunter did it or kids, you know, didn't leave it at that. So I just started looking for see what that smell was coming from. I couldn't find anything. And I remembered watching in search of a couple of a couple of weeks beforehand and they were talking about Bigfoot kind of where someone's smelled something similar. So
Starting point is 00:05:37 I found, I figured just do a knock. So I found a nice piece of a branch and I hid it against the tree and did it knock and I waited and I heard a response back by another knock. I did it again and I got another response. And what I forgot to tell you last night is I started, I started just a whistle, you know, just regular whistling and I stopped for a minute and I heard my whistle get mimicked. then I kind of felt a little on edge.
Starting point is 00:06:11 I decided to walk back towards the ATV. After I was walking back to my ATV, I felt like I was being watched. Now the tree stand, how far up the tree was a tree stand? It was 12 feet in the air with the ladder. Okay. And then when you walked up, so he smelled this smell, can he describe to the audience what the smell smelled like?
Starting point is 00:06:34 A decaying animal that I've been there for like weeks. Just like rotting flesh, just that, Terrible. Yeah. Bloading, like, you know, like a releasing, the methane gas from inside, rotting, flesh. What did you do next? Well, like I said, I decided from, I watched the program, I did knock, and I got a response. I thought that was kind of interesting.
Starting point is 00:06:59 So I did it again, and then I waited and got another response. And like I said, I started whistling, just whistle. and when I stopped, a few minutes later, I heard my whistle being mimicked. And like I said, that kind of got me a little on edge here. I thought maybe someone was up here. So I started walking back to the ATV. And as I'm walking back, I felt like someone or someone was watching me. When you got back, did you talk to your dad or did you tell anyone about what happened?
Starting point is 00:07:27 Oh, when I went back to the ATV, it was flipped over. Oh, really? Yeah. And I looked around for any other vehicle, any ATV. dirt like a dirt like, actually wasn't any, but it worked, I saw half a footprint because where it was parked, it was on dirt. And the entire of it was like mossy area. And I saw half a heel print where it was flipped over from. So it took me a minute to get it flipped back over.
Starting point is 00:07:57 And then it took me a minute to get it started because it was flooded. The whole time I'm sitting there trying to get started, I had the ceiling. My hair's out back on my neck start standing. up, I had the ceiling, something was walking me and getting closer. So I kept trying to get it, start. And I finally started up and started to go, and that's when I started getting rocks thrown at me. How big were the rocks? All different sizes at first.
Starting point is 00:08:25 Like, maybe a size of a half dollar maybe. You know, nothing real big. And then they kept getting better aim and better aim. And then by the time I hit the, got out of the tree line and hit the open field area, this big rock came flying past my head about 10 inches wide. And I kind of stopped a little bit. And I kept going. And as I was leaving, I heard a real loud behind me.
Starting point is 00:09:00 And I just kind of floored it even more. And then when I got back to the house, and I was shaking up a little bit. and I just heard to tell my dad about it. And he listened to me, and then that's why I found out. But after that is that last time he was hunting something chased him out of the woods, and he didn't know what it was. What did your dad say to you? Did he say, did he describe?
Starting point is 00:09:24 He pretty much described the same encounter I had. He was sitting in the tree's thin, and then he was getting ready to leave for the day. And he climbed down. He started smelling something like something was dead, and he just felt like someone something was watching him. And my father is an expert out huntsman and out therein. Because I remember one time we were hunting, and we're walking, and he told me to keep walking.
Starting point is 00:09:51 And I'm like, why? He said, don't worry about it. Just keep walking. And come to find out when he was telling me that when we're hunting, there was a cougar stalking us. That whole, I mean, your dad, I understand your dad's, you know. Yeah. So what did your dad say to you?
Starting point is 00:10:07 I mean, when you told him the story, what did your dad say? He believed me, but like I said, he was chased out of it. He said he was chased out of it. A couple months or months before that. And he told me, he didn't tell nobody about it, but he told me that he contacted, you know, those guys from TV. They said that that was like a level, level three, a level two sighting that he had, whatever level level, you know, I don't know. But, yeah, he was pretty open to it, and he's the only person I really told about it until, obviously, today. And so did you ever go back to that area?
Starting point is 00:10:46 Or did your dad ever go back to that area? Yeah, he went back up there during planting the season, and he never got any animals that year. But I asked him if he had any other experience up there. He said, no. He said, not, not really. He said, other than seeing a bear every now and then, but other than... he didn't really experience what he did before. To me, when I hear that encounter, it's very, very aggressive type behavior.
Starting point is 00:11:13 It's ripping your tree stand down. You obviously have smelled the same smell other people have reported. And then I think it's interesting. It tipped over your ATV. I've heard that before. That's not the first time I've heard something like that from hunters. And I think that's kind of the cue to leave and then throwing rocks at you. I mean, God, you must have been scared.
Starting point is 00:11:34 I would have been hammered down on that. throttle and I would have been out of there quickly. Yeah. Well, where he set up, where he set up, that was a main game trail where the deer and stuff came by, so that might have been right in their hunting area, and they didn't want no one in there disturbing it. Yeah, now tell me, when was your next strange encounter, or was your actual sighting next? Well, that was last year.
Starting point is 00:12:01 I just got my CDL, I'm out with my trainer, and then I'll, I'll just. out on my own. And I was heading down 64 to the Appalachians, mountains, and heading towards Virginia. I was going to run to go on this hill that was 8% grade. And they have a pull-off area for protect trailers so they can stop, inspect their brakes, and their lows in the airs being safe and secure before they head down the hill. And I'm sitting there, just to my straps. I kind of felt like someone was watching me. But I looked around, and
Starting point is 00:12:38 then I looked up on the ridge, and I saw this thing, it looked like a boulder at first, and it was kind of eyeed because of where it was right next to the tree, and I'm sitting there looking at it, it stands up. And
Starting point is 00:12:54 from about 200 yards away, and I could kind to see the figure, I mean, it had really broad shoulders, his arms were real long and I noticed when I talked to her right from someone over there and I asked him
Starting point is 00:13:09 what do you see up there he said well there's something standing up there and he actually had binoculars on he went in and got him and looked through him and goes I don't know what that is so he came to me
Starting point is 00:13:24 I looked through him and that's what I saw it it looked like a giant gorilla in the face and when you looked at it So you're looking at it through binoculars now. It's about 200 yards away. What's going through your mind at this point? I just trying to figure out what I was seeing.
Starting point is 00:13:39 You know, I've kind of believe at the time, you know, and then to actually see one, I just couldn't kind of comprehend it at the time, you know. It was kind of a shock thing. And the other driver that was sitting there looking at it, he was kind of kind of pale. about himself. And by that time, a third gyra came over, and I wanted to know what we were looking at, and we showed them.
Starting point is 00:14:08 And as we pointed to it and showed them, that's when it went down the other side of the ridge. And we couldn't see it in number. Can you be as descriptive as possible? When you're looking at it through the binoculars, were you able to get a look at the eyes, the nose, the nose? The nose was kind of flat and pushed up.
Starting point is 00:14:28 It had a pronounced brow. the face was black. It was kind of a dark brown fur. Its eyes looked white from where I was. This was like about 4.30 in the afternoon in the summertime, so it wasn't dark yet or nothing. Its eyes were white. Like I said, its arms were long. Like his hands almost hit his knee or down past his knees almost.
Starting point is 00:14:58 You could see it pectoral muscles It was a man I could tell that That's all I remember from It for it turned And went down the other side of the Ridge
Starting point is 00:15:11 Reable I realize 200 yards It's kind of far away Maybe not so much Looking through binoculars But this might be a tough question to answer But size comparison Compared to you
Starting point is 00:15:23 How would you Describe the size difference Between yourself And this thing Well, the best I could guess is trying to think, because it had a range finder on the binoculars. So maybe seven, eight feet up off the from where it was, the ground, the top of its head. I thought about climbing up that ridge and checking it out, but from where I was, there was no way to get up there. Yeah, and that one's an interesting encounter.
Starting point is 00:15:57 What did the other truck drivers say? What was the conversation like? You guys see this thing and you guys, luckily had binoculars to break it out. I would imagine at 200 yards, you could definitely tell it wasn't a person. But what did the other truck drivers say? Well, the one that I pointed out to first,
Starting point is 00:16:14 he was kind of telling me that he's seen that a couple times before around the area. He was a local driver. He said, that's why he keeps her binoculars in the trucks because whenever he sees wildlife, he likes to stop and look at it. And he said he's seen something like that a couple of times before. The other driver,
Starting point is 00:16:34 when he came over without looking at it, it was gone in a matter of second, so he really didn't get a look at it. He kind of thought, you know, as it was going down the ridge, the other side, the attorney went down. Yeah, I always find it interesting
Starting point is 00:16:46 when I talk to witnesses and that sense of being watched. You know, and I'd love to have a psychologist on the show to really, and I'm planning this for our upcoming show to have a psychologist come on and talk about that feeling of being watched. Because I really think it's something built into us as a protective measure. You know, when there's like your dad with the cougar, you know, he knew a cougar was stalking. You just kind of get this weird sense like you're being watched.
Starting point is 00:17:16 It's interesting. I was kind of testing this out. I went to a Bigfoot conference type situation. Actually, I went to, I was at Hop Squatch. And I remember I looked over at this guy and I knew I was kind of in his blind where he could actually see me. I knew he couldn't see me. And I was kind of watching him. And he kind of turned and looked over at me.
Starting point is 00:17:39 And I could tell he had the feeling like he's being watched. And it's just a weird sensation that we get, you know, when we see something like that. And it reminds me, too, Jeb, of the encounter had on last week where the guy said it was a tree stump. And then it stood up and he realized it wasn't a tree stump, kind of the same situation where you think you're looking at a boulder, then all of a sudden it stands up. It's not a boulder. Yeah. It's a fascinating encounter. Now, you had a third situation you were in, weren't you? Yeah, this happened a couple weeks ago, actually, when I was up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. What happened in that encounter? Well, I was up in Lons, I don't know, I said it's an ant or something, and I was waiting for my load. It wasn't ready.
Starting point is 00:18:22 So I went down 141 and cut over to a little truck stop there. And I parked there for the night. And I went in and asked him if it was okay to park. He said, yeah, we'll be closed at 10 o'clock. That's fine. So I was sitting in my truck, or actually, I was sleeping. And my truck started rocking, like it was being shook. And I thought it was maybe the wind.
Starting point is 00:18:49 But the way, then it started really shaking. And I don't know if you ever been in a tractor trailer before, but we've got these long curtains that you can close to cut off the back, the sleeper bunk from the front of the cab. I had mine closed, so by time I got up and looked, it opened the curtain, whatever it was was gone. So I get out and look, and that's when I saw all the footprints. From the back of my truck, they walked around the driver's side to the front
Starting point is 00:19:17 and then back. And out there, I was looking at it. around, I, I smell that same smell I smelled before. That same dead animal smell. Yep. What did the footprints look like? They were about 8 inches wide,
Starting point is 00:19:33 about 16 inches long because I wear a size 12, so I put my foot in it. Unfortunately, I got to grab my my phone and take pictures of them. But it looked like our feet, but the toes were longer. The pinky toe is kind of out to the
Starting point is 00:19:51 a little bit than up on one and the other the other foot the big toe did it did the was like the same way so you you think it was probably pushing on your truck yeah well see I guess it after the 10 o'clock that place shut down so I didn't have a bathroom to use so a couple times that night I went out and peed next to my truck so it might I smelled my my pee and thought maybe I was more comparatory so I come to investigate. Maybe. Yeah, and that is interesting.
Starting point is 00:20:26 You know, it's like you and I were talking the other night. And I'll have to have Mark Zasky on to tell the story. He's the one that investigated the report. But a similar type of report, it was shaking his truck. It was a truck driver staying in an overnight location. And he got out of his truck and this thing grabbed him and started walking off with them. And he said it was a big gorilla.
Starting point is 00:20:46 He said it was just a huge gorilla. But that's interesting. It makes you wonder why it came up, and maybe you're right. Maybe it is because of you peeing. I know when I was in Texas, my girlfriend had peed in an area, and then we all went back to camp. And from where she peed, something had walked up to that area and actually thrown, I don't know if it was a stick or a rock or it was something big. It kind of threw it towards a campfire from right where she had been just five minutes earlier. So it makes you wonder if it's something that.
Starting point is 00:21:20 that kind of irritates them or kind of the same theory as a dog. You know, if you're ever outside and you pee, your dog's got to go pee or you pee. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. It bottled my mind and I was going to go ask them about, you know, if anything's around him, but I never worked up a courage to go in and ask them. Yeah, what did you do the rest of the night? I tried to sleep, but really couldn't.
Starting point is 00:21:44 I know I had my tire thumper next to me just in case. something happened. I have these little windows in the back of my cab. I closed up pretty quick. I definitely would have, too. Prior to all of this happening to you, what was your take on the Sasquatch subject? I was open to it because, you know, they're discovering new things every day, new creatures, new species, you know, so why can't there be a grade in North America or other kind of creature that no one's ever seen or seen before around? You're looking. look at the rain for it, they're discovering new, new people every day. So, you know, you never know.
Starting point is 00:22:27 You know, these things can be so unpredictable. It's shocking how unpredictable these things can be, you know, like the situation when you're out checking out the tree stand, it rips down the tree stand. And again, that's that type of behavior I've heard before, or they'll reach up, rip one of those down, and then almost demolish it, tipping over your four-wheeler and throwing rocks at you. there is aggressive behavior with these things. You know, obviously, I think if they wanted you in that first encounter,
Starting point is 00:22:56 where you actually, you know, had rock son at you and you, they could have gotten you if they wanted you. I think it was more or less of don't come back type of behavior, more territorial type of behavior. The one in the truck, though, kind of has me scratch my head. I'm with you on it. I think the only thing that really probably set it off for it to come up and kind of mess with your truck was, you know,
Starting point is 00:23:19 It might have been the peeing outside, that's for sure. See, when I told my dad about it up in the one I had from up in New York, he told him, we had this conversation like the other day before I left out on the road. I asked him if he ever talked to anybody out there and said, yeah. He says up in New York, if you go talk to the old loggers where we live, they'll tell you all kinds of stuff. And they had their own name for them. They call them Woodman, the Woodman.
Starting point is 00:23:49 what they would call them. Huh. That's interesting. Did he say what the loggers, did they ever give them any information on it, or did they go in any more details about it? From what I understood, when they were up there,
Starting point is 00:24:03 getting me to cut the trees down, they were given a map. They would be given the map of where to clear the timber from, and they would have like a 20-mile stretch, and then it would stop, and then it would be like five months, somehow where they couldn't touch and then start up again where they could cut again, like a grid pattern.
Starting point is 00:24:25 And they could ever figure out why. That's interesting. That's really interesting. Makes you wonder, doesn't it? Yep. I could tell you about that incident with the DEC. Oh, yeah, go ahead. That's why I want me to tell that.
Starting point is 00:24:38 Yeah, please do. After I had my encounter about maybe, I'm trying to think, maybe two, two and a week afterwards, it was about 8 o'clock at night. and my father had a scanner and it had all the police bands and stuff like that well we were sitting there and it went off a DEC officer came over and said that they hit something
Starting point is 00:25:02 and they were able to beg well what was it and she said there was an animal running on two legs and like oh it was a bear he goes no it wasn't a bear it's playing in the ditch so me and it was about a mile and a half from where we lived so me and my dad kind of wanted to, you know, go up there if it was a bear or a deer or something like that.
Starting point is 00:25:24 In New York, if you find an animal, it got injured by hit by a car and you're there, they'll tag it. They'll use an antigen, tag it, and they'll let you take the animal home, you know, cut it up or whatever. Well, when we went up there, we got about a mile from there and we were turned around by the DEC. Did they say why? Nope. They just said you can't come up the road right now. You have to go around the other way. Well, from where we were, we could see there was a corner van, a state trooper, and somebody else in another vehicle.
Starting point is 00:26:01 That's interesting. So you heard the Department of Environmental Conservation Officer talking over the radio. They had hit an animal that was running on two legs, and then they shut the whole place down. Yep. That's interesting. I'm surprised they allowed that over the radio. Well, we had a... My dad had a friend in the police department,
Starting point is 00:26:27 and he gave him the police band channel, the ones that we're not supposed to hear. Oh, I got you. So he had them programmed in. I got you. I got you. Yeah, that is interesting. That's really interesting.
Starting point is 00:26:41 And for people out there listening, I mean, these things are out there. I say it over and over again. You've got to be careful. They're not all godless killing machines, but you come across one and, you know, the situation you're in by yourself and you just never know what could happen in those situations. I don't know what this could be, but I was driving home one time, and I dropped my truck, and I was in my car, I was heading home. And this is where I live now. It's northeast Mississippi.
Starting point is 00:27:12 I was over in near Pontotox. and I was coming down the road, and as I make the turn, I see this black thing come from the woods, stride one step on the wood, on the road, and then across the other side. Now, I don't know what it was. I know there's no bear around where I live, so it was black, and it just one stride, hit the road, and then off the road again, like it was running. And it was up on two legs?
Starting point is 00:27:44 Yeah. well, it looked like it from where I was as I was going forward towards it. It didn't even stop. I just hit it and went. What it was, I don't know. Yeah, that's interesting. Man, I'd love to go to the area where you had the four-wheeler incident. And, you know, even some of the other areas you're talking about,
Starting point is 00:28:03 maybe you could send me a Google map of the area. I'd love to look at it. Jeb, I won't post it online or publicly or anything. But if you wouldn't mind sending it to me, I'd love to look at it. Yeah, I should be home on 20, third, I'll be able to do it then. Yeah, that'd be great. And I can't thank you enough for coming on the show and sharing your encounters, man.
Starting point is 00:28:23 The awesome encounters, and I just can't think you enough for coming on and sharing them with the audience. Thank you. I enjoyed it. Thank you, Jeb. And next up, I want to welcome Trevor to the show. Trevor's from Washington State and captured some great footprints and great photographs, and they're up on the website. Trevor, welcome to the show. Thanks for being here tonight.
Starting point is 00:28:47 Yeah, thanks for having me, Wes. And if you would, Trevor, I was shocked by some of the photographs, you know, the great prints that you captured. For the audience, if you would, kind of tell them what you're out doing and just walk them right into what you saw. So basically in January of 2014, I was out hiking on North Sfgate Highway. They closed it off at Ross Lake there,
Starting point is 00:29:12 and I was just going to walk. the road. And a couple miles up the road from the gate at Ross Lake, I came across these footprints. And, yeah, it's startling. They're about 17 to 18 inches in size. And as you can see in the website, I did some prospective shots of it. And, yeah, I just was up there with the intention of doing some mountain landscapes, taking some photos of the scenery. and just happened to come across those, and that was kind of the focal point of the trip there. Now you come across these,
Starting point is 00:29:53 and you said it had iced over, so whatever probably made that footprint, did it most likely the night before, then it kind of re-froze over? Yeah, it looked like it had snowed a couple days before that, so my theory was, whatever made that happened a couple days prior and left those impressions and kind of melted through the ice.
Starting point is 00:30:17 And, yeah, they had some significant size and weight to it, whatever, did make those. And, yeah, they're kind of in isolation out there. I saw some smaller prints about like a half mile from the gate, and those kind of subsided a little bit further down the road. And, like I said, about that two-mile mark from the gate. I saw those kind of in isolation. And, yeah, they're roughly, as I think the photos illustrate, about four to five feet apart. And I think it's four or five of them spanned across the entire highway.
Starting point is 00:30:58 So it's definitely something with a pretty lengthy stride. Now, you tried to do the same stride. What was the difference between your stride and these footprints you found, the stride that you saw in them? It was pretty substantially different. And with my attempt to do this right, I mean, I was getting at best maybe half between each footprint close to six to, so I have a decent stride and longer legs than torso, so I can definitely get some mileage pretty quick under my belt with my stride. But, yeah, there was no comparison between mine and whatever created that. It was very impressive. They were impressive, and I'm looking at them right now.
Starting point is 00:31:43 and if people out there listening, if they want to go to saskatch chronicles.com, I'll post all the pictures up on the blog. It is impressive. The one thing I looked, I was just showing my girlfriend the pictures, and she looked at it and goes, holy crap, what is that? But what's interesting is when you look at, especially the way it walked, and I'm sure you notice this, it was like a straight line, one foot in front of the other, like a straight line, not like how you and I walk. Yeah, for sure. CEO is definitely very interesting, and that's one of the things I bring up to the people who question them, especially my super skeptical friends, is that whatever did create this, it walks through the linear gate, and several people have pointed that out.
Starting point is 00:32:29 And as I mentioned to you, and I was talking to you before, the podcast here, is that I had sent him to Jeff Meldrum, and he was immediately interested, and he responded back within 10 minutes, you know, doing a comparison footprint that he got in 1964. And he studies the gates in primatology very closely and is very familiar with strides and gate patterns. So to have him immediately comment back on that was pretty impressive and add some credibility to whatever it was that they create that. No, I know you went at links to try to debunk it.
Starting point is 00:33:09 I know you're trying to figure out, okay, could it have been a bear? That doesn't really make sense. Could have been a person? When you saw the tracks, what went through your mind when you saw those tracks? I mean, the whole day was incredibly eerie. The strange thing, I don't know if I mentioned this to you before, but I happened to actually be thinking about Sasquatch prior to coming across that, which is really weird.
Starting point is 00:33:34 The thought came into my head, and then I saw those footprints. So I don't know what was going on there. but with that thought in mind, it was very eerie. And then I kind of just stopped everything I was doing that day. And like I said earlier, it became the complete focal point there. And they were definitely unlike anything that I'd seen before. And as I mentioned before that, there were, so there's snowshoe footprints ways back there like a half mile from the gate, but those subsided.
Starting point is 00:34:07 And then there are some smaller animal prints, maybe like a Martin or something like that that I saw on the side of the road, about a mile back from where I saw those. And when I came across those, it was definitely something that just stood out to me mentally. And I could at that point to try to illustrate the size of them as much as possible. But, yeah, it was, like I said, definitely something that I had yet to come across or could imagine maybe if I'm lucky or something, I'll come across more of them again. But, yeah, there's definitely URI for sure. you and I were talking last night, and one of the things you and I were talking about was,
Starting point is 00:34:48 well, could it be a hoax? And tell the audience about that location. I mean, it's you have to drive quite a ways to get out there to the North Cascade Highway. And this is roughly two miles east from the gate. Hawkins' Razor, I don't think anyone's going to go out that way in the snow. And it seems like just a theory that they probably occurred at night because I think the big snowstorm came in a year or so before. that and it melted off pretty quickly. So you're going to be, you know, going out there in the dark in winter in trying to recreate these with that level of accuracy.
Starting point is 00:35:32 And the whole whole thing just seems implausible. Yeah, I tend to agree with you. I think in that situation, you know, especially since you think if someone was going to do a hoax or something like that, you'd put it in an area, A, where a lot of people travel and you can just tell from the photos it's not an area where people travel. And the other thing, too, is you would find other footprints. You would find where someone drove up, you would find, I mean, these are literally, that's it. I mean, this is what you get, or these prints.
Starting point is 00:36:03 And it seems like a large creature that went through there, that's for sure. Yeah, I mean, it does get a little bit of traffic, but it's definitely closer to the gated section. Like I said, there were some snowshoes, but prints that they tapered all those. and there's definitely a strong, distinct difference between a snow-tru print and that. I mean, that was going in the complete opposite direction of where the snowshoe prints were going, then they typically, if anyone's actually doing in that area, they're going to be going not too far from the gate, and then basically be going east to west down the highway,
Starting point is 00:36:44 and these just came out of nowhere going directly across. prints is that you're not going to have that sort of indentation in the snow. And they're going to be pretty definitely not a long degree of stride in between the two. So there's definitely a level of accuracy and precision to those prints that made them definitely unique. Yeah, I tend to agree with you. I mean, I really think you got Sasquatch prints, especially with the gate and how it was walking, you know, the length between each foot. step and how it walked across the road. It's definitely not a person.
Starting point is 00:37:32 I mean, I don't think it's a person that could even, that's such an odd gate to walk, you know what I mean, in the straight line, one foot after another. Have you been back to the area? I haven't actually done the winter trip yet, but I have intentions of trying to go back there this year and hiking up the road further, just to kind of scope it out. I think when you see something like that, you have a certain interest in the place and add the level mystery that you kind of want to... I have definitely hiked in that area since then
Starting point is 00:38:07 I have a background in hiking and photography, so it's something I continually explore. I would love to just go recheck that out in the snow just to see if I can come across anything similar. Well, I appreciate you sending me the prints and keep me up to date if you see anything else out there, will you? Yeah, I'll definitely have my camera in hand. and we'll try to capture what I can.
Starting point is 00:38:35 Trevor, thanks for coming on the show. Yeah, no problem. Thank you for having me. And again, if you want to see Trevor's pictures, go to Sasquatch Chronicles.com and check it out in the blog. I'll be posting all of his photos. They're pretty amazing photos, actually. If you get a chance, go check it out.
Starting point is 00:38:53 That is on Sasquatch Chronicles.com. Again, if you've had an encounter and you'd like to be on the show, shoot me an email, Wes at Sasquatch Chronicles.com. And finally on the show, I want to welcome Luke. Luke, I had your dad on the show a couple weeks ago. He was sharing encounters around his property, and then he had three different things that happened to him when he was younger.
Starting point is 00:39:16 He talked about. So welcome to the show. Luke, I really appreciate you being here tonight. Oh, thanks, man. The problem. And if you would, Luke, kind of tell us about your first encounter. I know your dad had encounter on and around. around his property, and then he shared some of the early stories from early in his life,
Starting point is 00:39:34 some of the different encounters. Let me ask you this. What part of the country are you in? Right now, I'm in Ohio, but my first encounter was in Ogilville, Indiana. I was over to Buddy's house, and we were about 10 years old at the time, and we were walking around the lake one night, around, like, I'd say probably about midnight. And he's got this little pond outside his house, and along the side of the side of the the dam when we were on, we were walking back, and there's a head drove there.
Starting point is 00:40:03 On the other side is a cattle pasture, and there was about 30 head of cattle, and we were walking around, and you noticed they were just running around, what sounded like there was running around in circles, the whole herd. So we originally thought that, you know, we had startled them or whatever, and so we stopped moving, but they didn't. And so we thought that there was a pack of coyote who was trying to get the calf. So we both fired off our BB guns, into the bush and yelled, hey, you know, trying to skate the thing off.
Starting point is 00:40:33 But, you know, what we got in return was this very loud, high-pitched scream. It lasted about four seconds. And towards the end, it kind of got into a low, gurgly kind of growl thing. Of course, that sent us running. And, you know, that's kind of what, you know, got me into this, looking into Bigfoot. and, you know, I looked and listened to all kinds of different audio files, and, you know, the only thing that even came close to this was that of a mountain lion. And, you know, this is, you know, south central Indiana.
Starting point is 00:41:12 And, you know, that kind of really got me into it. And, you know, going forward, you know, a couple years, and my dad kind of saying, you know, hey, this is a lot of experience, but, you know, he was really tight-lifted about it. Anyway, I kind of originally didn't really think Bigfoot was anything but a hoax. But here in Ohio, I moved over here a few years later, and I was staying in Riley. Now, the town isn't a little town. It's kind of like a small neighborhood with a school in it, but it's right up against the Indian Creek Preserve.
Starting point is 00:41:49 And to briefly describe the area, the yard I was in was basically a, a large rectangle, about 70 yards long by 45 yards deep. The far left side of it was the stand of trees, about seven of them, each of them about 25, 30 feet apart. Now, I'm sitting, I went out and, I was sitting in my car, smoking a cigarette, and, you know, I get off work really late. It was about 1 o'clock when I had gotten home. I went inside and then came back outside an hour later. It was about 2.10 in the morning. This was November 13, 2013, and it had been raining on and off most of the day,
Starting point is 00:42:36 but around this time it had started to be missed. So it wasn't raining, but everything was wet. And I'm sitting out in my explorer, and in front of me is this the tree line. and there's this tree house we had built earlier, and behind the house is a barn. Now, on the barn is a street light. They have bolted and bolted the side of it, and it is on all night,
Starting point is 00:43:03 and it lights up the yard pretty good. So I could see the yard, but for the tree line, I couldn't. It was just dark. And I had finished my first cigarette, and I had the radio on, and so I killed the radio, and I rolled down the window,
Starting point is 00:43:20 a little bit, to toss it out. And that's when I heard, I pivot in the gravel, and then a step in the gravel, a step in the grass, and then what sounded like a slap, slap, slap, slap of bare feet running on wet asphalt away from it. So I turned around, and I'm, you know, at first I thought, you know, I thought my girlfriend was coming out to see what the hell I was doing, but I didn't see anything. So I'm scanning the yard, looking around, you know, I'm not seeing anything. I mean, this car comes by.
Starting point is 00:43:48 and I'm thinking its headlights are going to eliminate whatever it was and of course I didn't see anything so I didn't think of anything and I was about to lie with another cigarette
Starting point is 00:43:59 when in front of me I heard three very loud wood on wood knocks whack whack whack and of course that got my attention pretty good and
Starting point is 00:44:12 I'm sitting there looking out and then not 10 seconds later, I hear it again, whack, whack, whack, and this time it's closer. And it was hitting this bush that's right on the edge of the tree line. And so I'm thinking whatever is right there is going to be coming out. Now, I'm focused in on in front of me. But out of the corner of my eye to the left, I see a black flash. And I turn a look and I don't see anything. And I focus back in front
Starting point is 00:44:46 me again, and then out of the corner of my eye from the first tree to the second tree, I see a large black flash hop. So I turn again. Now I do the same thing. As soon as I turn away, out of the corner of my eye, then it jumps to the third tree. Now, this time, I turned the look, and I kept my eyes focused on the fourth tree, because I'm thinking, well, if this damn thing's going to do it again, I'm going to be able to see it. And sure enough, I turned my head again, boom, and jumped.
Starting point is 00:45:14 and what I saw was a very large, very wide black flash, like silver-lighted figure jumped to this tree. And I was able to see where the top of its head was on the tree. And by that time, I was kind of starting to freak out because I knew exactly what it was at this point. I got out slowly back into the house, closed the door and locked behind me. I went back out the next day, hoping to find some sort of track or whatever, but I'd
Starting point is 00:45:49 remembered where this thing's head was on the tree, so I took the tape measure out, and I measured it, and this damn thing was 8 foot 4 inches tall. Was it actually in the tree, or was it by the tree? It was on the ground hiding behind the trees, so I got you. I measured the distance between each of the trees, and some of them were a little bit longer than others, but for the most part on average is about 25 to 30 feet. And it was able to clear this from a standing position in one hop. And this actually happened on your property.
Starting point is 00:46:25 Right. Well, where I was saying, I've since moved. Not too far away, actually, but... Did you tell anyone about your encounter afterwards? I mean, did you go in and talk to your wife and just say, hey, I saw the weirdest thing I've ever seen in my life? No. Actually, I've only told... I think you're probably the seventh person I've told.
Starting point is 00:46:44 I went ahead and I called my buddy up and told him about it. And I got told one of my friends at work and then my dad and a couple other people and now you and whoever else was listening. Yeah, I hear you. And I appreciate that. I appreciate you sharing it. Yeah. Was this mainly what got you into this topic is this main encounter? Well, not really.
Starting point is 00:47:11 I heard kind of got me interested in that. That really opened up a lot of doors because previously, I mean, my original position on Sasquatch was, I thought it was a hoax. There was nothing else to it. And, you know, when I was little, now, honestly, Wes, I never really ever told this to anybody. But the property that my dad had his most recent encounter on, we had moved there when I was a little kid. I was about six years old. and we had rented this movie. I think it was called Little Bigfoot.
Starting point is 00:47:48 But basically it's like a, you know, Harry and the Henderson BS, family goes out, finds a baby Sasquatch, and then, you know, looks after or whatever, and gives it back to its family at the end of the movie. And I got to tell you, man, that was my first, you know, look at Bigfoot, or my first, you know, whatever, interjecting to the subject. And I had no prior knowledge, and it freaked me out. Like, I couldn't watch it. I had to leave.
Starting point is 00:48:16 And I always thought that was really strange. And that kind of pushed me to believe that it was a hoax because I was so afraid of this thing that I had to convince myself that it didn't exist. And when I heard that scream, you know, I had been studying all kinds of wildlife forever. You know, I'm really interested in the subject. and I wanted to be a wildlife biologist. And so I just thought it was fake, and everything that I had previously dismissed,
Starting point is 00:48:53 I looked into after that stream. And, you know, then my dad kind of, you know, spin-feeding me little tiny tidbits of what happened to him because, you know, my mom was like, hey, you know, don't you ever tell him about this stuff? and so he was really tight-lifted about it with me for the longest time. And, you know, I've finally been able to get him to talk about it more, and he's more interested in it, and now I'm really into it.
Starting point is 00:49:23 When did the activity on your dad's property start? Well, to be honest with you, I think it's been ongoing for a very long time. That lake wasn't always a lake. It's actually a freshwater spring, and that piece of property has always been like a woodland area. It's only been in the last 20 years that anything has been built up around there.
Starting point is 00:49:50 And so I think these things are moving in through that area around mid-September through November, and they're only staying there for a couple days and then moved on. Because, you know, the encounter that he had mentioned earlier about that high school student,
Starting point is 00:50:08 that encounter and his encounter and everything that we've noticed you know that that's only been happening through a certain time of the year and you know I had gone hiking you know through the trails through that woods and we would find all kinds of stick structures just extremely elaborate stuff the most impressive one outside of this you know a couple branches like in an X formation randomly we've we've found about 20 to 25, 30-foot-long trees that were about 8 to 9 inches in diameter that were started out in a TP-like structure around a standing tree, and then the other ones
Starting point is 00:50:56 were make a standing structure. And we had found it, and then wanted to go back and find it again, if you could take pictures of it, like the next season or whatever, and it was all. gone. It had been taken down and like dispersed. It wasn't like it fell over. It was gone. And just lots of weird stuff man. What's your take on those
Starting point is 00:51:24 TP structures? I think they're using for a lot of different reasons. I think the X markers are just a marker, but I think some of the bigger structures they actually will pile up stuff and make like maybe a nest
Starting point is 00:51:39 or maybe it is some sort of directional marker. Maybe there's food here. I don't know. But I definitely think they use it primarily for communication with themselves and any other passerby because, honestly, I think these things are nomadic, at least the ones around in this area, just because of the sparse human population, they can't really stay in one spot year round. So was that your only two encounters?
Starting point is 00:52:09 You heard the one that was vocalizing? and then you saw the one that was kind of peeking around the tree, the huge one. Is that your only encounters? Yeah, that's pretty much all that I've really experienced. I had asked one of my friends that lived a couple houses down from where I saw the one in Riley, and she had told me that about 10, 15 years prior, she was on top of the hill in the Indian Creek Preserve about maybe 300 yards behind the house
Starting point is 00:52:48 that I was at. Her and her friend were out there, shooting BB guns and stuff or whatever, and in the tree line, they saw something about seven and a half feet tall. She said, black hair, stand up, turn around, and bulldoze its way through the bush.
Starting point is 00:53:08 Not like hopping around, but just knocking everything over in its path. And they turned tail and ran the opposite direction. But other than that, that's really all that I know that has happened with people that I know. And did you move out of the area because the Sasquatch was there? If not, if there's other reasons, you don't have to go into them. But was it because of this encounter you wanted to kind of get away from that property, or was it just other reasons?
Starting point is 00:53:40 No, not really. We just, we got our own place. And, yeah, even though I didn't do with Sasquatch, I mean, I'm not going to lie, it freaked me out. I haven't really been backing out the section of woods, but maybe twice since then. I don't really feel comfortable going out into the woods anymore without a firearm. Yeah, and I don't blame you. I don't blame you at all. Your dad's encounters, you know, the one. that the one that really stuck with me was when he was talking about the guy he picked up in the middle of the night that was screaming and yelling, something was throwing rocks at him.
Starting point is 00:54:21 And as they're driving off, the thing is in the rearview mirror and the road kind of, you know, I mean, that's scary as hell, man. Oh, yeah, man. I couldn't imagine being that guy. I mean, you know, I'm glad my dad was able to, you know, get him out of the heat because I'm pretty sure he was, he was on the menu that night, man. Yeah, it definitely sounded like it. Well, Luke, thank you for coming on the show.
Starting point is 00:54:45 I sure appreciate it. Hey, man. Thank you. I'm a big fan. I listen to it every night. Thank you, sir. Have a good one, Wes. And that's it for tonight, everyone.
