Scheananigans with Scheana Shay - Scheana Spills On Filming FOMO & the Burnt Bunny Bread
Episode Date: April 10, 2026Scheana is solo again this week, and nothing is off-limits as she responds to listener questions. She covers everything from this year’s Easter celebration (including Brock’s burnt b...unny bread) to navigating spirituality as a parent and shares what life at home really looks like—plus a hilarious moment where Summer Moon fact-checks her in real time after catching that the Artemis II launch wasn’t exactly “live.” Scheana also gets real about family, including how her biological father reacted to her book, and dives into all things reality TV: whether she has FOMO watching The Valley, if she’d ever return to filming, and why she literally can’t seem to avoid reality TV cameras—even when she doesn’t have a call time. Plus, Scheana reflects on the hardest season of VPR to film, what the next chapter of her life might look like, and opens up about navigating complicated friendships—taking accountability while also recognizing toxic patterns. The following podcast is a dear media production.
From Vanderpump Rules to Motherhood and everywhere in between.
Warm up the kettle. It's time to spill some tea. Let's get into some shenanigans with Sheena Shea.
All righty. Welcome back to shenanigans, everyone. I am in the studio solo this week.
I posted for questions and you guys sent in a ton for me. So first of all,
you for that. But today I want to do something a little different. I told the team don't filter
anything. We're not cherry picking, no softballs. I am just going to read whatever question is on
these cards unprepared. So we'll see how that goes. I want to make this as seamless as possible.
So we're going to see how far we get before I get tired of hearing my own voice play back in these
headphones. And here we go. What does Summer know about Easter? Does she know the religious aspect or just
the Easter bunny side of things? So for Easter's specifically, she knows more of the Easter bunny side
of things. When it comes to Christmas, she knows that's Jesus's birthday. We're still kind of
figuring out how to introduce religion to her because we were both raised very religious and very different.
I was raised Catholic, Brock was raised Mormon, and we do not want to raise our daughter in either of those religions.
I want her to believe in a higher power. I want her to believe in heaven and God and all of that.
So, you know, we'll say prayers. We talk about God. We talk about heaven. We talk about death and, you know, where souls go after they leave Earth.
but as far as Easter, I have not completely figured out a way for her to grasp that concept.
So if you guys have any tips on how to introduce religion to a four-year-old,
I would love to hear that because we're kind of struggling with that where I'm not going to
raise her Catholic, but I do want to raise her with religion, with spirituality, and I want her
to always believe in a higher power.
It's just I have a very inquisitive kid.
And she asks a lot of questions that I don't have the answers to.
Of course, there's, you know, chat GPT now, but who knows what?
I should probably just ask and see what she says when I ask about religion because I would
be curious.
Because that's a crazy thing too with AI with these kids.
You know, it's at their fingertips.
Generation Alpha is the first generation who was growing up with easily accessible
tools like technology, AI, all of these things, it's wild.
You know, whereas Gen Z, of course, they're in it now.
But when my sister was little, I think we still had dial-up internet and not just iPhones
and smartphones and everything so easily accessible.
And one of the craziest things about just technology and iPhones and stuff in general,
your kid, well, at least my kid, they can fact-check you.
prime example. So we're watching the Artemis rocket launch last week. I was seven minutes late. I wasn't
paying attention to the time. And when I turned it on, it said like time in space or time since
launch, whatever. And it was like seven minutes. And so I was like, oh, shoot. So I like go back. I rewind.
She's with her friend, Lila. She's not really paying attention. And so I'm like, oh, summer,
the rocket's about to take off. She goes, wait, is this happening right now? I'm like, yeah, honey,
it's right now. And so they're watching it. They do the countdown. It takes.
off and she goes, wait, and she looks at the time on the TV, she goes, grabs my iPhone, looks
at it, and she goes, 350. And then as I see her grabbing my phone, I grab the remote, I push
live. So it just goes to live. And the TV, I think it said 351 or whatever. It was like one
minute off. And she's like, wait, but then it caught up right away. And I said, oh, well,
they're showing different time zones, you know, Central, East Coast, you know, it's later in New York
and this and that. But I'm like, damn, this.
This kid, she is going to fact-checked me.
So when there are questions around religion and certain things, I mean, I just, I don't have
all of the answers.
I don't know if I have the right answers.
So I've been a little skeptical how to introduce religion because we don't know how we're
going to raise her.
You know, I feel like Christian is what we relate to the most.
but, you know, she says her prayers and we're just figuring it out.
But she does love the Easter Bunny, that side of things.
Favorite Easter memories.
Hmm.
For me or for her, because I would say we made a core memory this year,
and that was Brock burning the Easter Bunny bread.
So get up early, you know, she finally.
all the eggs, we have breakfast, and then her and Brocker making this Easter bunny sourdough loaf.
If you've been following Betty Brocker, then you know he's been into making his own
sourdough and just like that real trad husband.
And so they found this rest of you, whatever, on TikTok.
And you cut the sourdough into the shape of a bunny, make the ears, you have the string,
you do this, that, and the other.
I want to pop this up for whoever is watching on YouTube if you didn't see it on Instagram.
When he put the bread in the oven, it cooked, I'm doing Summer's hair. He turns the oven off or so he
thinks and all of a sudden he runs upstairs and I'm like, something smells like it's burning.
And I like yell up to him because I have like her hair in my hands. It's parted and I'm trying
to fix it. And I'm like, honey, I feel like something's burning. And he's like, no, I turned to the
oven off. I look over at the oven. No, no, it's not off. So I drop her hair. I run over to the oven.
It was on broil. I opened the oven and the bunny was burnt to a crisp. I mean, completely black.
And he comes down and he's like, man, it was like the only starter and sourdough that he had that we
could have made the bunny with that day. And so I was like, you know what? It doesn't matter that we
didn't have the bunny bread. We made a bunny fruit platter and it was great. But I said to Brock, I go,
you just created a core memory because your four-year-old might not always remember the time
dad made an Easter bunny loaf of bread. I guarantee she's always going to remember when you
burnt the bunny loaf of bread. So you're just making core memories, but she thought it was funny.
She wasn't that upset about it. And I taught Brock what a broiler is and how one way turns it off
and one way turns it to broil.
So yeah, that was a good core memory.
And that's probably going to be one of my favorite Easter memories moving forward.
I don't think I have too many as a kid.
I have some photos, but I don't know.
My memory's bad.
Okay.
Moving on.
Oh, I did see this question come in.
Are you and Brock separated?
Looks like you took wife off your profile.
I've never had wife on me.
my profile. If he took husband off his, then we're going to have to have another conversation,
but I've never had anything other than Summer's mommy and links to my book, the podcast,
or whatever it is I'm working on at the time. So what we are not separated, we are very much
together. And we're doing really good, actually. I feel like the last three years and Easter
is a bit of a triggering day for me because that was the night that he sat me down three years ago
and told me about the affair. We had a great Easter together. If you read the book, you know the story.
So now that it's been exactly three years, I'm happy to report that we're doing the best we've been
since before I found that out. It took a lot of rebuilding, a lot of trust was broken. I don't know
that we'll ever get it back 100%. I think I'm, you know, happy if we could just stay at 99.
But we've been doing really good. We've been connecting again. And we're so excited for summer
to have this next chapter of kindergarten and school. And she is so excited. And I'll get more
into that later because I think there were maybe some questions about her. Did your biological dad read
your book? If so, what were his thoughts? So I know he bought the book.
He said that he was starting to read it, but we never really discussed it.
I had told him just a couple trigger warnings of some things that were in it.
He knew about the affair and whatnot before the book came out.
But I'm not sure if he finished it, actually.
I need to ask him.
I feel like here's the thing too with the boomer and my mom is Gen X.
With those generations, I feel like they were more raised to just.
just kind of sweep things under the rug and really not talk about it.
You know, that's why therapy is so challenging for the older generation.
Because I feel like whenever there are certain stories that I've maybe told in the book
or in this podcast and whether, you know, my parents hear them, read about them or whatever it may be,
we don't always talk about it.
So, you know, if you read the book, he read the book, but we have not discussed it.
that's where it was. I just saw. I knew I saw the word kindergarten. How does summer feel about
kindergarten? She is so excited. You guys, we got her into an amazing school. It's like a 6% acceptance rate.
She is so excited. She's doing summer camp. She's got kindergarten camp. She has some friends who already go there, some friends who are going to be in kindergarten with her.
And she's so excited. She wants to play sports. She wants to play chess. She wants to do.
all the things. So she's really looking forward to this. I'm looking forward to this. And I can't believe it.
It's like I remember for someone who has a bad memory when I started kindergarten and now I have a
daughter starting kindergarten. And that's just wild. And I was saying on Easter to my cousin Shalom
were six months apart. Her son is graduating college as mine is entering kindergarten. It's so crazy how
we're the same age and just life, you know?
And I have friends from high school who have kids who are graduating high school,
going to college.
And I'm like, wow, we're just starting.
But I'm excited.
I'm very happy that we got into this school.
It's one that we had our eye on for the last year.
And I just can't wait for this next chapter.
You're looking more fit lately.
Do you follow a special diet?
No, but what I do do is I'm,
have my fitness pal app and I track my macros. So I try to make sure I'm eating enough protein,
not having too many carbs because that is where I struggle where I will have more carbs than
protein. But now that I'm keeping an eye on it, I make sure if I didn't eat enough meat that I
have a protein smoothie or I have some egg whites with a scoop of vanilla protein powder,
which trust me, I thought sounded disgusting until I tried it. And I'm like, oh, it just.
just tastes like the protein powder and you're getting so much protein. And as I was saying this to my
friend Deb, we work out together a lot. She was like, wait, you can't just like drink raw eggs. And then
I started freaking out. I was like, oh my God, oh my God. But no, of course, the egg whites are
pasteurized. So it is okay. I don't do that every day. But that is just a good way to get some extra
protein in. And I've been working out with a new trainer and she has been amazing. It is a
trek for me so I am committed. It's about an hour drive each way, which people are like,
why do you drive that far? Because you know why? I enjoy listening to audiobooks, listening to Giggly
squad. That's my me time in the car where I don't mind if I'm in traffic. I don't mind the long
drive. I have a leased vehicle for the first time in my life, so I don't care about how many miles
I'm putting on it. I have 15,000 a year I can drive. And you better believe it, I will be
driving those 15,000. So I think just having that motivation really helps too. I'm like,
well, I'm driving all this way. I'm going to get the best workout impossible. And it is fun when me and
Deb, she was on Love Island. She's been on the podcast before. But it's fun when we do our partner
workouts together because we motivate each other. We have fun. We make some TikToks. And I just really
enjoy it. There's always a lot of drama and chaos surrounding your friend circles and personal lives.
What are some hacks you've developed to stay centered?
Ooh, well, I try with my breath work.
You know, if I ever feel just very anxious or overwhelmed,
I try to just like take a beat and breathe.
Literally, you would be surprised at what that can do for your heart rate.
It works wonders.
Just simply breathing.
But one thing I will say, and she was on the podcast a few months to go,
actually. Her name is Mimi Bouchard. And she has this app called Activations. And I believe my link is still
active. So if you guys want to check that out, it was a free two-week trial and you get like a huge
discount. If you go to activations.com slash good as gold. This app, I'm telling you, not only am I in
love with it, but my daughter when she's going to sleep, she's like, mommy, can you play the music
with the lady who talks? I like her voice. And I'll put it on.
She has the sweetest, softest voice.
It is so soothing.
And Summer loves to go to sleep hearing these motivational things that she says or prompts where it's like,
think about your future life.
And there's so many different ones.
I listen to this when I'm in the sauna.
There are ones where it's like legs up on wall.
There's ones where if you're just out for a walk, summer is short as three minutes.
Some are like 478 minutes and you can just leave it.
playing all night long. I am convinced that my subconscious as I am sleeping is just taking in
all of the things that she's saying. And the difference is with meditations, those are more meant
to calm you, whereas activations are supposed to energize you. But she does have the amazing sleep ones
with calming music. It is just the perfect thing. I listen to them every day and every night.
So anytime I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed, I just take a beat.
I breathe, how we teach summer, take a deep breath, and I'll just put on an activation
because, I mean, who doesn't have three minutes?
There are so many different ones, so many categories.
I highly recommend it because it just helps.
And they're meant to be listened to on the go.
So check that out, use that code or use that link.
and okay, what's next?
You know what next?
I'm going to take a break and then we're going to get back into it.
Beir back.
And now on to my latest craze, and that is Willie's remedy.
Okay, because if you're maybe tired of waking up hungover,
if you're like, what did I do last night,
then this is the thing for you because now you can have fun and relax
without any of the regrets with Willie's THC infused social tonic.
It tastes so good. I prefer mine chilled. You can do it on the rocks. You can make it with a little
mixer. But for anyone trying to be more intentional this year, Willis gives you that social
uplifting buzz without breaking your goals. It gives you a bit of a euphoric feeling and it happens
really quick. Like 15, 20 minutes in, I'm like, oh, okay, I'm feeling good. I've got an alcohol
alternative finally that actually works with this uplifting, euphoric buzz.
And you can feel that without having any of the negative side effects.
It's a low calorie, low sugar, alcohol alternative that actually works.
Willie's social tonics come in 5 milligrams and 10 milligrams doses with the best in class flavor
experience so smooth and balanced you barely realize you're drinking a THC product at all.
One shot of Willys, I'm telling you, this helps you relax, unwind, distress.
It's perfect for, you know, a game night in or a little buzz before your night out.
Willie sold out three times in the first six months with over 50,000 plus happy customers,
and they just restocked.

Oh, and the season is here, and I'm not talking about spring.
talking about festival season, one of my favorite times of year and not just for the music,
but for the fits. Every April, I go on Revolve, I shop for my festival clothes, and that makes it
so easy. They have so many cute looks. It's where I go when I don't want to overthink my outfit.
Everything is just really styled in a way that actually makes sense and feels curated, not chaotic.
even if I order multiple options because sometimes I want to try two different sizes or a couple
different colors. Revolve makes shipping and returns so easy, comes with the return label,
and Revolve's festival shop is now open. So it's basically your go-to for festival season.
Built around that, you know, festival energy, standout looks, confident, a little extra but still
effortless. Think head-to-to-toe outfits that feel styled already, not piecing things.
together last minute, which I've been guilty of in the past.
Statement pieces, sets, my favorite, and textures that actually feel like a moment,
designed for festivals but also work for trips, long weekends, night out, and it makes
packing and planning outfits way easier because everything already goes together.
It's elevated, but still easy.
Looks that stand out without trying too hard.
Whether it's a big night out, a wedding, a trip, or you just need something last minute that
actually works. Revolve always has it. Go to Revolve.com slash good as gold to shop our faves and use
code good as gold for 15% off your first order. And definitely, check out the festival shop while
you're there. Fast shipping, easy returns. It just makes everything easier. And that's revolve.com
slash good as gold. You can shop our faves and get 15% off your first order. Offer ends April 24th,
so don't miss out. Okay, of course we have questions about the valley. Are you still friends with anyone
on the Valley. I'm friends with almost everyone on the Valley. Yes. How are you feeling watching
the Valley? Is it hard to see what could have been? You know, I thought I might have some feelings
like that. I've only seen the first episode so far. I'm recording this on a Tuesday. It comes out
tomorrow. So I haven't seen episode two yet. But I actually didn't feel the way I was worried I was
going to. I thought I was going to have FOMO and being like, wow, you know, I got invited to the
sip and see, but I wasn't filming, so I wasn't going to go to any of the filmed events and have to
sign the release if I'm not filming and in contract. As much as they are my friends, they also
understand that if you're on the show, you're more likely going to be at all these things. And if
you're not on the show, then you're probably not going to be there and we'll celebrate at another time.
I've met the babies. And watching it, I was like, you know what? I'm okay that I wasn't there. I know
that I made the right choice for me and not doing it.
And that's only, you know, just one episode.
But I didn't have the FOMO that I feared I might have.
So that was good.
The first event on the Valley, were you invited to that or was it staged for the show?
So if we're talking about the SIP and C, yes, I was invited, but I wasn't filming.
But I will tell you what was funny that day.
It wasn't so funny in real time, but now looking back at the show.
It's funny. I take Ventura Boulevard to pick up summer from school. It's kind of like the only way
to pick her up from where she goes to school. And I pass by Casita. I drive past Casita almost every day,
probably every day actually. And I eat there often. It's one of my go-to restaurants in the valley.
So that day, I was picking up summer and one of her friends for a play date. And as we're driving home,
just not even thinking, just my normal route, I get to.
stuck behind a production van at valet in the right lane on Ventura in front of Casita.
And I look over and I was like, oh my God, oh my God, they're filming right now.
And I cannot get in the left lane to get around the production van.
I see one of my friends standing at the valet stand.
There's so much traffic in the left lane.
So I'm just stuck watching, you know, what could have been.
And I did feel some sort of way then.
But then I got in the left lane.
I went home and I had a good laugh about it.
And I text my friend when I got home and I was like, oh, I saw you standing at the valet stand if you want to stop by after.
But that was funny.
And then, oh my God, there was another time where I was at Summer's improv class in Studio City somewhere.
And all of us moms, while the kids are in the class, like it's a drop off class.
And then they have a surprise performance at the end of the, not school year, but at the end of the class and whatnot.
So during the class, the moms all go to one of the coffee shops.
smoothies, creation, whatever. So we're sitting in a coffee shop. I see again a production van,
but it's Los Angeles. Things are being filmed all of the time everywhere. What are the chances?
Right as we look at the time and we're like, oh, it's time the kids are going to be getting out of
class. We get up from the coffee shop. We walk out. I am not kidding you. You can't write this shit.
I literally walk into Zach and Danny. There's cameras and they're like, oh, oh. And I'm
I was like, oh, sorry.
I, like, totally fucked up their exit when they're doing their walkout.
And I was like, I'm so sorry.
But it was, like, naturally, just in the Valley.
I'm like, what are the chances on a Thursday afternoon at 2.30 p.m.
You guys are filming in the shop next to my daughter's class.
It was just crazy.
But that everyone, it was so sweet.
All of the moms were like, are you okay?
How are you feeling?
I was like, no, no.
Like, that was great to see them.
Like, they're my friends.
It was funny that I ran into them.
but I'm like, I'm not stalking you.
I don't, I do have Zach's location.
I'll say that.
But what was funny was at the time, we made a joke about that.
And he's like, oh, my location's off right now.
So it's not like I could have even known that they were there.
But that was funny.
Anyway, moving on.
Can you please join the Valley next season?
Look, I don't know what the next season of my life looks like.
If there's another season and I hope there is because I want this for my friends.
I want them to have, you know, what we had on Vanderpump.
I would love that for them.
I just, I don't know if it's for me.
You know, these are real friendships of mine.
They're people I keep in touch with.
I'm a bridesmaid in Jasmine and Melissa's wedding.
I'm very close with some of them.
And it's like regardless of whether I'm a cast member or not, you know,
it's harder to avoid those cameras than not.
I mean, I just told you how I, boom, ran into, ran into.
But yeah.
So, let's see.
Is Luke really la-law?
sperm donor. No. I mean, you guys all saw the sperm donor party on season 11. I don't think Luke
matched all of that criteria. I don't know what's public about all of that info, but I do know
that Lala saw baby photos of the dad and also heard his voice. So I think for sure, because I remember
her being like, oh my God, his voice, like so sexy or whatever she said, I think she would know if that
was Luke's voice because she's never said anything like that about Luke. Does it hurt when you see
people you once consider to be close friends posting with her? Well, if I'm being honest,
I do have a lot of people muted so I don't see it. Here's the thing. People have to see things for
themselves on their own timeline and there's no reason to try to convince someone otherwise. I'm
going to be telling all of the girls on the valley, don't be friends with her. She's this.
She's that. No, they'll see it at the time. They've seen it before. They've forgiven. They'll see it
again. It's inevitable. I just think that people need to learn for themselves. I could give a warning,
but at the end of the day, what does that do? If you want to be friends with her, go and be friends
with her. I would never tell someone, do not be friends with her. I hope that she learned
from our experience in friendship fallout and is doing better with friendships in the future.
I'll say that.
Why haven't you interviewed anyone from the new season of VPR?
Honestly, I haven't watched it.
It's not that I'm necessarily opposed to it.
I'm friends with Demi.
I'm friends with Natalie.
There's this one girl.
I think her name's Angelica.
I saw some interview bites of that I thought was really cute and articulate.
but I just, I didn't watch the show.
I am so behind on the shows that I already really enjoy watching
and I'm really trying to focus more on scripted TV,
although I did just add Real Housewives of Rhode Island to my roster.
So I'm like, look, I could not take on another show, especially that show.
I just wasn't interested in watching it right now.
It just doesn't fit in my life.
So I'm not going to have someone on when I'm not well-versed on
the episodes and all of that. Anyone I have on this podcast, I like to have a lot of knowledge about.
So unless I have one of my friends on, like, maybe I have Demi come on and just talk about
her experience, but I'm not going to be able to ask the right questions because I didn't
watch the show. But maybe I post for questions. So comment below. If you guys want me to get one
of the girls in the chair, get into some shenanigans with them, talk about their experience.
I'm totally open to that.
So not a no, just not yet.
What was the hardest season of VPR to film?
Season 11.
The last season was torture.
It was me going through one of the hardest times in my life silently, which, yes, I chose to keep that secret.
And I just wasn't ready to open up about that yet.
So keeping something so big like that, a secret inside, it was eating me alive every day.
And it was so, so hard.
And I took it out on the wrong people.
It wasn't the best version of myself.
I felt like I was trying to give Tom Grace, to give Brock Grace, and that just wasn't landing.
And I just was a shell of a human.
I was not myself.
I made a lot of bad judgment calls that season.
I said things I shouldn't have said.
And, you know, I'm the one who's had to pay for it.
So it was a very large learning lesson.
It has changed how I move in friendships now.
But yeah, the season finale when I performed was fun.
But other than that, it was really hard.
What the heck is going on with Peter and the girl he's seen?
I have no idea because I don't follow him.
Will you ever be friends with Lala and Katie again?
Katie and I, we DM, we've had some little conversations here and there.
I think the thing about Katie, and I know I've said this on the podcast before,
I was so insecure in my own ways that I wasn't able to see what an amazing friend I had right in front of me.
What a girl's girl, ride or die, solid fucking human.
and I regret that and I have expressed that to her and that's all I can do.
You know, if one day we come back together, I would love that.
But for now, commenting on, you know, Instagram stories and just, you know,
hyping her up, like I enjoy doing that.
You know, I was not a great friend to her.
So I don't know if I were her, I don't know that I'd want to be friends with me again.

Are you recording me? We're about to go deep.
This is my first time.
I'm kind of nervous.
Wait, did you say come together?
You've been spending too much that with me.
Hey, I'm Aaron Dana Leachie and this is my husband, Abe.
Hey.
We've been married for over 10 years.
We have almost four kids and we've started and survived more businesses than we can count.
Some were great.
Some, let's just say we learned a lot.
Reality TV, that's just part of our story.
But TV has limits and this show doesn't.
Our new podcast.
come together dives into everything love, sex, parenting, business, and what it's really like to
mix marriage with work. It's raw, it's funny, it's honest, and yes, sometimes it's a little awkward.
Nothing is off the table because let's be real. If you're not coming together, you're probably
falling apart. Join us every week on Come Together wherever you listen to podcasts.
All right. What are you loving about being off reality TV for the moment? Recalibrating,
reconnecting with myself, just really focusing on my family, having peace, and some free time for the first time
in a very long time. That's been nice. I miss you on TV. Do you feel mentally stronger since
deciding not to film? Absolutely. That's a hard yes. Would Doreet's chronic lateness add hours onto the
working day for the real housewives of Beverly Hills crew. That's a good question. I don't think so
because the crews are unionized. So their time is their time. And they usually, if it's going to be
too long of a shoot, they would have a backup crew. So I don't know. But that is a good question.
Because if they only planned for a certain amount of time and then they're waiting for her for two
hours, maybe. Is it ever hard to watch reality TV with knowing how the sausage is made? Yes. And that's why I was
thinking of trying to start watching less reality TV and more scripted TV since that is the space I really
want to be in still. It's the space I've always wanted to be in. But at the same time, I enjoy it.
And it just further solidifies I made the correct decision in taking a beat.
Because when I watch it, I'm like, I don't want to do that right now.
No, no.
And I get it.
Like I was listening to Giggly Squad this morning and they were just talking about, you know,
how they would not be doing reality anymore either.
And I'm like, I get it.
I do love the space for the good aspects of sharing your story and being able to connect
with people and help them. And so I think for me personally, reality TV in some way, shape,
or form will always be in my life. But I did need to take a break from it. It was, I mean,
we started in 2011 and only had a break during a pandemic when I was pregnant. So this has been a much
needed reset time. Put my cell phone pause. There was a
it two part to that question or what's it like watching TV with your lens so on one hand i mean it's
hard to just watch a show at face value you know anymore so i can't really do that i can't turn that part of
my brain off and just enjoy the entertainment the stories and you know i'm i'm clocking the edit
i'm clocking when someone brings up something at an inappropriate time or it just seems
out of the conversation.
Like I was watching Rhode Island the first episode
and they're playing Never Have I Ever.
And now Homegirl still has like five fingers up.
And then all of a sudden it's just another conversation.
I'm like, oh, okay, so we're just not going to finish the game.
It just like ended.
Like I wanted to see a little more of that or don't show it at all.
But just things like that I clock.
You know, it's like I know exactly what's happening behind the scenes when most people don't.
But at the same time,
I will say it does make me appreciate it a little more because I know how much goes into making
those moments, to making those moments land to, you know, how real the emotions are. And even if the
story is being shaped after the fact, it's like, I still do enjoy watching it. But I think the biggest
difference is I watch with more empathy now. Because it's really easy as a viewer when you just want to
judge someone based on a scene or an episode, you know, an interview bite. I mean, I have said
some horrendous things that I look back and I'm like, oh my God, why did I say that? Like,
wasn't my original thought. It was suggested I say that. I thought it was funny in the moment,
was not funny. Did not land well. But, you know, I know firsthand, there's just so much more
happening that you don't see. Sometimes you're in an interview and you might say something funny
one way, so it would be taken as lighthearted. They're like, oh, can you just try it this way? And I'm
like, okay, and then that's the one that gets used. Like, God, I genuinely remember the backup dancer
comment. Like, I'll just when I was filming season 11 and it was suggested, oh, you should bring up,
you know how Ariana was your backup dancer and now she's dancing with the stars and like,
have some fun with that so we can show a flashback. And I'm like, oh, okay, in my head, genuinely,
I'm like, I mean, look at her.
She was as my backup dancer once, and now she's dancing with the stars.
And, like, I was delivering it funny, self-deprecating, being like, she was my backup dancer.
Like, I'm no one.
And now she's dancing with the stars.
How fucking incredible is that?
That was my tone.
But then, you know, it's like, oh, can you try it this way?
And I think one of the takes out of the, I don't know how many times I said it, it came off a little conti, a little catty.
And that was not my intention.
And I remember Ariana sitting on Watch What Happens Live saying that she hadn't seen the episodes.
She wasn't watching the show, but she saw some clips on TikTok and that that hurt her the most.
And that broke my heart because I'm like, that was not even my original thought.
And that was not my intention at all.
I was trying to be cheeky to just show them in a flashback to season one and congratulate her.
But that's the thing.
Sometimes it lands.
Sometimes it doesn't.
and it's all a learning lesson.
Yeah, you know, I guess it can kind of ruin the illusion a little,
but it also, it gives me a deeper respect for the process
and the people living in real time.
I will say that.
Are you team Sierra or team Amanda?
Is that a serious question?
Team Sierra.
And then follow-up question is Carl a mess?
I mean, Kyle talks to him more than I do.
So if Kyle and his man on the street interview is saying Carl's a mess, then maybe Carl is a mess.
I know he was in L.A. last week I was trying to see him, but we didn't get to connect.
So I cannot report on whether or not he is a mess. But I will say him and Lindsay's Uber Eats commercial iconic.
Uber Eats, like they know how they ate with that, you know? That's pretty good.
What is your stance on Taylor and Dakota with all that happened?
Honestly, I don't really know all the details of what's going on there.
And I think it's important to be honest about that.
What I do know is that the priority should always be the well-being of the kids.
But, you know, I mean, in life, there are moments that we all have where we don't show up in the way we should.
for ourselves, for the people around us.
And that's just part of being human, you know,
as I was just describing.
And my interview bites and who I was season 11,
I did not show up for Ariana in the way I should have.
And I can make every excuse in the book of,
I was going through this.
It doesn't matter.
I did not show up.
And that's something that I have to live with.
And that's a lesson I've learned.
But I feel like the important part,
it's especially as parents we are raising these tiny humans they are so impressionable and they're
watching and absorbing everything when you think they're not listening they're locking they're
clocking stuff and you know we as parents have to take accountability we have to reflect on those
moments and just i don't know wake up the next day and do better be a better version of yourself than
you were the day before. That's all we can do is try to be our best. We're going to mess up.
I'm sure every kid is going to say, oh, because you know, you did this, I'm this way or whatever.
You know, we can blame our parents for us being in therapy. But truth is, we're never going to
handle everything perfectly. And when our kids become parents one day, they will understand that.
But what we can do is grow. And that has been a very big focus of mind, just looking inward,
taking responsibility for how I show up and doing the work to improve.
And it's been a long road.
It hasn't always been easy.
But at the end of the day, I can't control anyone else.
I can only control myself.
I can only control how I respond, how I react.
It's why I tattooed let them on my hand.
So I see that every single day.
And I remind myself to just take a beat, let them.
And, you know, going back to Taylor, like, I only know it's out there publicly when it comes to her.
I have spoken to a couple of the girls.
I know that they have checked in with her, but that's not for them to relay to me.
So I hope she's taking whatever time she needs to reflect and do the work so she can show up as the woman and mother that she wants to be.
Who of the Mormon wives do you talk to?
I talk to a lot of them, honestly.
Some via DMs, some via text, but I'd say I keep in touch with like five or six of them, whether it's just like casual DMs or texting, phone calls, voice notes.
Yeah, we keep in touch.
Thoughts on Messi.
Messy spelled M-E-S-S-I, which is that like Jesse and Marciano's couple name?
Are they a couple now?
Y'all, I'm so confused.
I mean, look, I know Jesse is going through a lot right now.
But I think Michaela said it best.
Let's not jump from one toxic man to another.
I mean, that's never the solution.
Like, what are you thinking?
I also saw a comment Michaela said.
She's like, I love you, but you're too hot for this.
Yeah, I'm very, very confused by that whole thing.
And it just makes me think that maybe.
more than just a kiss happened that night in the hotel room like I thought all along,
but then I believed them when they convinced me that it hadn't.
But now I think we're all thinking that, you know?
What are the vibes for Coachella this year?
Ooh.
Sabrina, Justin.
I don't know because here we are on Tuesday.
Coachella is on Friday and I don't have my outfits yet.
I know my sister is just like shaking her head.
Like, how can you not figure out your outfits?
But you know what?
We're going to figure that out tomorrow.
And then we're going to head to the desert on Thursday.
And I always figured out week of last minute.
And it always works out.
So, you know, you're really famous in Saudi Arabia.
Would you come for a vacation there?
I am?
Oh, I had no idea.
I didn't know.
I mean, I know Vanderpomberl's is in so many countries, but you never know, like, exactly which ones.
So I don't know that now is the ideal time to make a plan to visit that part of the world.
But there are so many places and cultures that I would love to explore and experience.
And yeah, let's add Saudi Arabia out of the list.
Are you right or left-handed?
And when you played baseball, did you bat with that same dominant side?
And does someone have a right- or left-hand yet?
So I am very much right-handed.
I bat right-handed.
I think I golf right-handed.
but then I snowboard
Goofy
which I think is also right footed
I don't know
I'm very right dominant
I don't know what that means about my brain
I always forget when they say like right side brain people
left brain I don't know
but yeah I'm right handed
if you ask summer she'll say I can do both
but she's very dominant right hand
when she writes but she'll try to do stuff with her left
she'll throw with her left she'll swing with her left
I could see her in sports like batting both ways, but she does right with her right.
She started with her left when she was younger.
She would throw a lot with her left, but then two, three years old, it's all her right hand now.
But also funny, I did see something on Instagram recently about handedness, I guess it's called,
where humans are the only species that show a consistent population-wide preference towards the right side,
whereas it's mostly a 50-50 distribution on handedness for other species.
And we have no clue why.
And it's wild.
I don't know.
As a cat owner, have you noticed that your cats behave differently when you're sick?
Apparently cats can sense illness before we might know something is wrong.
With summer, yes.
I am fortunate.
I don't get sick too often.
But whenever she's feeling down, the cats, they are like right there ready to cuddle.
We're looking at kittens right now because it's kitten season, you know, and we want to rescue one.
And I was talking to one of the rescues yesterday.
And I said, oh, do you think a kitten would adjust well to two older cats?
One just turned 12.
One is 16 and a half.
And the rescue goes, no, not at all.
The cats will not adjust to the kitten.
The kitten will not adjust to the cats.
And I'm like, oh, okay.
They send me an article about single kitten syndrome.
And they recommend we get two kittens.
too. So the kitten has a kitten to bite and learn from and the cats can do the cat thing and the kitten
doesn't get depressed when you leave. And I'm like, okay, so now I need to get two. I'm going to have four
cats. I mean, I know Carly Bible has like seven cats, but I don't know that I can sell my husband
on two more cats. So I'm like, might not be the time. I don't want to say like, we'll just wait for one
of them to die, but I'm like, I just, I don't know that we're equipped to do two kittens right now.
And then it's like, okay, if I got from a different rescue, I still now that I know that that is a
fact, I can't do that.
I can't just get a kitten and have like him or her be depressed.
So I don't know what we're going to do now.
But what we are going to do is name a jack's hole.
And Trump always makes it easy for us when he tweets, stupid shit.
This morning it was posted a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.
I mean, look, more than anything, I'm just thinking about the innocent people on all sides and what's going on right now.
That is who really matter here.
And I just hope that everyone stays safe, truly.
And on a much more inspiring note, my flowers for the week go to the amazing crew of Artemis 2.
They've already made history traveling around the moon and becoming the humans who have gone the furthest into space.
So just let that sink in for a minute.
I mean, that's next level.
These photos I saw of the moon, I was convinced it was Earth.
It was colorful.
I don't know if you guys have seen it.
Maybe we can pop one up here.
But it was beautiful.
I can't even, I mean, I can't.
Yeah, it's crazy.
It's like when I just stare at the moon and I do my manifestation.
and it's like high thoughts, but I'm not always high.
It's crazy to think about, I mean, what these people have done takes years of training,
insane precision, and a willingness to step into the unknown in a way that, you know,
most of us can't even imagine.
I genuinely, I can't imagine.
I just went and took summer to the planetarium the other day and we're in there just watching
the signs of life thing.
And it's mind-blowing, you know?
and it's not just about space.
It's about pushing the limits of what humans can do.
And beyond that, I think this mission just represents progress.
It's opening the door for a new generation to see themselves in space and dream even bigger.
It's something that I always thought about as a kid.
I'm like, I want to go to space one day.
And then I met Buzz Aldrin.
I served him.
I remember very specifically, table 51 at Villablanca.
and I took a selfie with him
and this was probably back on like a blackberry
so I don't even think I have the photo anymore
but I'm like I met a man who walked on the moon.
That's crazy.
But yeah, all the flowers to them
for literally going further than anyone ever has.
And that about wraps it up.
So thank you guys for listening.
I will be getting back into some more shenanigans next week.
