Hi, I'm Wendy Zuckerman. There's a lot of fads out in the world, a lot of strong opinions, a lot of blogs. But then, there's science. Science Versus is the new show from Gimlet Media that finds out what's fact, what's not, and what's somewhere in between. And this season, we meet the people

trying to sort out the science from the pseudoscience. Well, it happened so fast, Wendy, I didn't expect it, and boom, boom, boom, they started drilling next door. Next thing you know, I had red water coming out of my faucet. I really think that we don't really know what pesticides do yet. I know that they started to speculate over whether it causes autism. I did every possible thing to breastfeed and to make it seem like I was breastfeeding with a tube on my, you know, on my breast. To get to the facts, we ask the tough questions. How many vaginas do you think you've looked at in a cadaver in your career? Probably getting close to 50. That's not that many, right? Yeah, that's... I would have thought that's a reasonably big experience.

No disrespect, of course. You're not impressed. There's years of work in that, Wendy. Do you think people that buy organic food are suckers? Jesus, she's harsh, isn't she? No, they're not suckers. They believe different than me, that's all. They got a different point of view. You know, theirs is wrong, but I mean other than that...

Has there ever been water contaminated as a result of the entire process of fracking? You're talking about from drilling to... From drilling to yes. So if you're going to say drilling, but not fracking, I mean, again, there's difference. Yes. Absolutely. Yes.

Yes. And what went wrong? This summer, well, in the Northern Hemisphere anyway, we are going to debunk the bunk. It's very romantic to think that everything in nature is good. But nature is full of viruses and bacteria and snakes and scorpions and people. People are natural and many of them are very bad, right? This show will make you question all the things that just feel right.
