Thank you to all of our listeners and all of our patrons. We appreciate you all very much. Thank you again and enjoy the episode. Hey, it's Dr. Lancaster from work. I'm in the psychology department. Anyways, I drove you home after the New Year's party. You were pretty inebriated. Not that I'm judging or anything. You just probably couldn't have driven yourself home.
Starting point is 00:01:26 And I felt kind of bad. So I left you some ibuprofen on your coffee table. It's in a sandwich bag. It was all I could find in my car, sorry. Also, can you call me back when you get this? You were pretty out of it by the time I got you back to your building. I just don't, I want to make sure you don't die or anything. So, yeah, bye.
Starting point is 00:01:52 Oh, and happy New Year. So, how's the arm? Arm is great. Or do you got a couple of the pain killers Gave him back, don't eat them That's so Uh huh, look at me, I'm doing perfect What did I say
Starting point is 00:02:23 Shut up I called it You didn't call shit I did Whatever Hairline fracture, I said Hairline fracture, those exact words All they said was just don't hit it against stuff
Starting point is 00:02:35 Mm-hmm Harley stop, seriously Fine, alright I don't like it when you snap at me like that I'm sorry But can we just let this one go? Only if you absolutely promise that you're all right. Fine. I'm all right.
Starting point is 00:03:02 I'm good to steal this. No, you're not. Maintenance will weld your door shut. Well, that is maintenance's problem. We have to check it in at the end of the day. I know. I'm just joking. Right. Sorry. I'm just hung over as shit is all. Are you?
Starting point is 00:03:22 No. Or, well, not really. I just had some of the botany moonshine. That's all. Well, is it any good? God, no. It's like if Everclear had a baby with bug spray. Okay, you're drinking water with it, though, right?
Starting point is 00:03:38 Of course I am. I know how booze works. Okay, it's just... I am very familiar with the workings of alcohol on the human body. Hey, would you stop? What? I'm just kidding, Link. It's not that bad. It's not funny, Harley.
Starting point is 00:03:52 Don't joke about things that you won't let me help. you with. Nobody asked you to monitor me. I'm your friend. That's what I'm supposed to do. Lancaster, listen. I'm a grown man. I'm fine. It's fine. Okay, then put these on.
Starting point is 00:04:09 Cool. Ready when you are. Okay, here we go. Does that look is it, is it wide enough for you to see through? This is great. I can't believe they're letting us do this. What? Destroy the walls? Yeah. God, I inhaled the
Starting point is 00:04:38 Dry warp dust. Yeah, try not to suck that in. Okay, I'm good. How far does this go? End of the wing, at least. Damn it. I thought we'd find it by now. Another hole in the wall?
Starting point is 00:04:54 Down over there, maybe? I think so. What's Klein working on? She and engineering are working on getting into Carlson's computer. See if he had any info as a level four that we weren't privy to. Tell me what she says when you get around to it. Okay, well, I will if he eat three meals tomorrow. You're not the boss of me.
Starting point is 00:05:12 I will spoon feed you. That is gross. Well, then you better eat three meals. What about you? Well, this isn't about me. Yeah. It never really is, is it? Nope.
Starting point is 00:05:39 Hey, hey, hey, I'm late. I'm so sorry. After my job, I see. What? Being late. Never mind. You look like you. You're missing some color. Are you all right? Oh, yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. I had some... I ate something bad last night, I think.
Starting point is 00:05:56 But you didn't eat anything last night. You said you weren't hungry. Yeah, I'm... Yeah, I did. How's the wall looking? Have we found anything yet? Colleen finally has a good idea on how to get into the computer. Even though I told her that with her concussion, she really shouldn't be... What? You can't keep telling me to fix my eating habit. if you are also not eating.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Okay, I'm not, I, my problems don't have anything to do with your problems. Why can't you apply your own advice to yourself? Okay, I will. I just, I'd have to get to everybody else first. What? You're not a machine. You can't expect to be able to fix everybody. Okay, well, what's wrong with trying?
Starting point is 00:06:42 If it comes at your own expense... It's, it's temporary. Once I have stuff, figured out with other people... You have four other staff in your department. Why can't they take care of it for a bit? Well, then we'll take care of it for a bit. Well, then we'll take it. care of them? I don't know. And who'll take care of you? I know you don't tell Rivera about your
Starting point is 00:06:58 alcoholism. I am not an alcoholic. No, of course. You're just a booze enthusiast or something, right? You're heading below the belt. Okay, well, maybe that's what it's going to take to get through to you. Get through to me? What about you? You can't just keep telling everybody else to do things you don't do yourself. You look like shit. When was the last time you slept? Okay, look, we don't, we don't all have all the time in the world, okay, Harley. Some of us are, doing things around here. Ed, I'm sorry. I don't, I don't really mean that.
Starting point is 00:07:35 I know. It is kind of the truth, though, isn't it? It's not. Okay, you... Okay, that's a new dash one. That felt pretty big. Why didn't anybody catch that? I think Radiger and Love are still fighting.
Starting point is 00:07:57 Oh, I'm gonna go find Klein. Okay. Hey, you guys missed one earlier today, huh? things still going really bad with love want to go get shit-faced about it yes am i an alcoholic who cares i'll drink to that god this stuff is strong why don't you just take your mask off smells what me or the moonshine pick one boo Everything sucks. Everything sucks surveillance. We can't find what that weird
Starting point is 00:09:00 wires for. We don't know how to stop another blackout or whatever. I'm still mad at Lancaster. You're fighting with love. Want to talk about it? No. Works for me. She's loud and talks too much and she's annoying
Starting point is 00:09:20 and she has shiny hair. She has shiny hair. Hair is shiny and I hate her. All right. Ah, it's a quiet night in Site 107. Of course, it's only night because they turned off most of the lights in the hallway. We'll take what we can get, I suppose. It is quiet and it is still.
Starting point is 00:09:49 And at any moment, a monster could leap out of the walls and try to kill all of. of us. Or, perhaps not. We don't know how that quite works yet. Don't know how anything works, maybe. But, I digress. You can really see it all from here. A dozen little worlds on a dozen little screens. A hundred little places where anything and everything can go wrong, and very likely will. But maybe not right now. Maybe right now
Starting point is 00:10:32 it will stay just this quiet. With any luck, we can keep it this quiet for... What are you doing? Hmm? Why are you talking like that? Oh, I don't know, it's just...
Starting point is 00:10:47 It's just something I do, I guess. I don't know. I'm pretty drunk. I don't have a problem, though. A dependency, maybe, but it's not like it causes problems for my work or my... Okay, maybe it does cause some problems with my social relationships, but that's only because Lancaster won't stop bothering me about it. Where's the bottle?
Starting point is 00:11:19 God. Wow. Really, really perts going down. It's not me, though, is it? Do you think I have a problem? I don't know you. That is fair. It's not like I'm trying to be a problem.
Starting point is 00:11:39 It's just... We all have to cope somehow, right? If Lank can have his red bull, why can't I have a drink too? What's the difference? They're both bad for us. We both probably shouldn't be drinking it, but look where we are. Look at this. This place.
Starting point is 00:12:00 This dumb, idiot building. This is stupid. And I want to get drunk every once in a while. You know, you're a pretty good listener. Radiger? I said you're a good listener. Oh. Cheers.
Starting point is 00:12:27 What can you see? You getting anything? Hold on. Hold on. I think I've got... Dude, if you stick your head in there any farther, you're going to get stuck. Not that you shouldn't do that, it would be really funny. That's it. I think that's it.
Starting point is 00:12:40 What is it? Some kind of device? I don't really know. I don't have a lot of background knowledge of the tech in this place, but it did not look like it was meant to be there. Like it was just stuck in there as an afterthought? Yeah, kind of. Move, I want to look. That's a reality anchor.
Starting point is 00:13:05 A what? Scranton reality anchor. They use them with reality better. Have you worked with reality vendors before? I read a case file for one once. She died before I even got to the facility. Uh, tried to turn a concrete wall into a door and her head exploded. Yeah, yeah, I've heard that that is what tends to happen.
Starting point is 00:13:22 Yeah, it's ugly, but that's beside the point. What's one doing here? Even on the outside, we've never had anything to do with reality distorting abilities. Our building isn't even properly equipped for that kind of stuff. Putting an anchor here is a huge waste of power. What about the people in the Haven program? We don't have any. Plus, nobody in the Haven program is anomalous enough to have a whole reality anchor installed in your site.
Starting point is 00:13:48 That's like using a fire hose to put out a candle. Do you think we could get it out of the wall? Don't know. I'll have Hodges take a look, see if it's a risk to anything structural. Where's Harley, by the way? Wasn't he working on this with you? Yeah, we got into an argument. Oh, that sucks.
Starting point is 00:14:09 You two seem like the types to work it out, though. Yeah. Yeah, no, I should go talk to him. Ugh. Hey, you don't look so good, dude. You're going to pass out on me, Lancaster? You okay? Oh, shit.
Starting point is 00:14:28 Whoa, whoa, hold. Okay, okay. All right, fine. Yeah. Sit down. Sorry. Please don't apologize. Just sit there for a second, get your bearings back together.
Starting point is 00:14:38 I'm going to run get you some water, maybe some crackers or something. Yeah, yeah, that might be good. Be back in a sec. Wait, wait, don't tell Harley. Wasn't gonna, but okay. Thank you. But you're going to tell him yourself soon, right? Yeah, maybe.
Starting point is 00:15:00 I probably will. Okay, good. God, why is everyone in this company so melodramatic? Hey, Lancaster, sorry I missed you. Leave your name and your number, and I'll call you back when I can. Thank you. Hi, Dr. Lancaster. This is Dr. Harley from... Well, you know pretty well by now, don't you? Sorry about last night, really. I'm incredibly embarrassed about what happened.
Starting point is 00:15:33 I appreciate you taking the time to make sure I was okay. But you didn't have to take me all the way back to my apartment. I'd have a room on site. It seems like you put in a little more work than you needed to. But it's fine. I'm still massively grateful to know that the foundation has some decent people in it. Sometimes it doesn't feel that way. Anyway, you're going to have to let me do some of your paperwork or something in exchange for that. I insist.
Starting point is 00:16:07 Also, you don't have to worry about me. I promise. I'm fine. Okay, this message is already too long. Bye. And maybe I'll see you around work. Episode 10 was written and produced by Anna McGuire. The voice of Harley is Ian Charles.
