Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, welcome back Screencrush. I'm Ryan Erie. And there are two secret Marvel movies that are supposed to release within the next year and a half. Today, we are going to get to the bottom of what in the hell these movies are. First, I'm going to go over everything that we know. And then I'm going to get some help from Tommy Beck Told and Dave Gonzalez to figure out what Marvel is hiding from us. What's in the box? And I'm also going to go ahead and give you my theory right now. I think they're hiding a secret X-Men movie that's releasing next year. I want to remind you guys that Screencrush is now on all of your favorite podcast platforms if you want to listen to us on the go. And we just designed new Daredevil Parody shirts at our merch store.
Starting point is 00:00:34 The No Fear Hallway Fight, the Fisk shirt and yard sign. Battle of New York Replican newspaper, Murdoch and Nelson, Rabbit in a Snowstorm. And if you become one of our rewards members, you can earn free stuff. So Marvel currently has two untitled films on their schedule. One set to release on February 13, 26th, and the other set to release on November 6, 2026. Now, before we figure out what these two mystery movies, are and then talk about the X-Men, let's go over everything that we know. First, there have been a lot of announced or rumored Marvel projects that are now rumored to be on hold or just
Starting point is 00:01:06 scrapped permanently. By the way, why are they canceling all these movies? Well, when Bob Iger returned as the CEO of Disney, he said that Marvel would begin to focus on quality over quantity and focus on more proven winners. He is also reportedly cutting projects that are too expensive and are not proven hits. And this is why, for instance, Eternals 2 is not happening. Although there are rumors the story could end up continuing as an animated story. There are also rumors that Marvel has dumped sequels for Ant-Man and Captain Marvel, and also second seasons for Ms. Marvel, Shehawk, and Moon Knight have also withered and died on the vine. Armor Wars was announced almost five years ago as a Disney Plus show that would show Rodey trying to protect the legacy of
Starting point is 00:01:42 Tony Stark, and it remains in development hell, although now it might be a movie. And a Disney plus series about Nova was reportedly pretty far in development before it was recently put into a drawer. My guess is a cosmic show where the hero fights a horde of spacebugs led by a nihilus was just too darn expensive for a streaming platform. I mean, in recent years, Disney Plus's show budgets have ballooned to like ridiculous degrees. I mean, heck, secret invasion in the Acolyte cost a quarter of a billion dollars each. Now, I should note that just because these characters aren't getting sequels or second seasons, that does not mean we will never see them again. I think that Marvel never intended to give second seasons to shows
Starting point is 00:02:17 like Miss Marvel and Moon Knight, and instead they were setting up the characters for team up movies. So take all of this and let's add in what we've heard from very reliable leaker Daniel RPK. He has said that, as we have speculated, Avengers Doomsday will end with the creation of Battleworld, like it does in the comics. Now, Battleworld is a composite planet made up of different realities where like several different alternate universes exist on the same planet. And then, according to RPK, every Marvel project happening after Doomsday and before Secret Wars will actually be set on Battleworld. So if this is correct, it would mean that Spider-Man 4 is set on Battleworld, which means that Sadie Sink's recent casting in
Starting point is 00:02:53 Spider-Man 4 could place her as May Day Parker, the daughter of Toby McGuire and Kirsten Dunstice Peter and MJ. Now, this also means that one of our mystery movies potentially also takes place on Battleworld. Oh, what about Blade? Is he on Battleworld? Well... You've only ever going to be one, Blake. Mahershala Ali was announced as Blade in 2019, but the movie has been in development hell since then. Reportedly, it's back on track, but the film has been to... delayed several times. And recently, Daniel RPK has said that he has heard that Blade will be released post Secret Wars. And that is what we really need to keep in mind here. Compared to the other phases
Starting point is 00:03:28 in the Multiverse saga, phase six was relatively light. Phase four had 18 projects. Phase five had 15. And phase six just had six movies in five shows. And two of those shows are animated and one of them takes place in the multiverse. Marvel apparently wants to get the hell out of this saga as fast as possible so they can move on to the X-Men and build up new franchises like the Fantastic four. There are also a few projects that we know are in development that are rumored to be released post Secret Wars, such as The Strange Academy, a show about teaching young sorcerers a Carmar Tage. There's also Midnight Suns, a team-up movie bringing together the horror-related characters onto one team. We're also probably getting sequels to Dr. Strange, Thor, and Black
Starting point is 00:04:06 Panther. Now, because most of these characters are in Doomsday and Secret Wars, it is unlikely that their films could be filmed and released while all of those actors are off shooting the giant crossover movies. I should also mention that there is one, crucial live action series that is in production right now, and that is Vision Quest. We know this show is being run by Terry Mattalus, who did Picard Season 3, and it features the further adventures of White Vision after he flies through the skylight in Wanda Vision. My best guess is that this show is a continuation of the events of Agatha all along, which ended with Wiccan and Agatha's ghost setting off to find Billy's brother Tommy.
Starting point is 00:04:40 Now, there are also rumors that the Shang Chi sequel is ready to start production this year, possibly eyeing a release in 2026. Oh, I don't know, that's a tight deadline. Yes, but if the movie is more grounded and less focused on visual effects, maybe they could pull it off. However, the writer-director of the film, Destin Daniel Cretton, is currently working on Spider-Man 4. But like I said, I still think there's a possibility that Marvel might have a secret X-Men film in their back pocket. I'm going to ask my friends what they think about this. I am here with special guest Dave Gonzalez and Tommy Beck told you know him as the guy here at Screencrush who is always on break.
Starting point is 00:05:13 Gentlemen, we have a lot to talk about here. There's two Marvel movies on the schedule, and I acknowledge one of them could move around, there's TV show slots that maybe they're keeping hidden from us, but we've never seen Marvel with big gaps like this, wait this long to get announced. So first of all, I want to get your theories, based on what everything I've just said, you can even tell me I'm wrong about something. Dave, what are your theories on what these two slots could be, one pre-doomsday, one post-doomsday? I would like to think the pre-doomsday is maybe a film that they thought
Starting point is 00:05:46 would maybe come later down the line after Kang had like messed things up that is maybe more of a wrap-up movie. So like Captain America, Brave New World is sort of like dealing with things like the Hulk and Hulks and the Eternals and Adamantium and all these things that aren't really multiversal. I think they have one more of those in them before we dive into the multiverse for maybe like a year and a half of the calendar where we're just spending time in multiversal movies. So I'm very curious what that February one is. That is actually where I would want to
Starting point is 00:06:19 put Young Avengers if we knew where Vision Quest was actually debuting because I think it would be a real big power move to roll directly from Disney Plus into another one of these movies because I think that was in 2020 when they announced a whole bunch of
Starting point is 00:06:35 slate things going to be the idea was that Disney Plus would be able to hand back and forth to the movies. We haven't really been able to see that happen because of various strikes and pandemics and whatnot, sort of messing with the schedule. When you say hand back and forth, what do you mean by that? So there's sort of like Endgame pushed all of these plot lines out into the Disney Plus universe. And we've seen sort of Wanda Vision sort of wrapped up in Dr. Strange Multiverse of Madness,
Starting point is 00:07:06 but now Agatha has complicated that. And then obviously Vision Quest is going to take the other part of Wanda Vision. And then we saw Falcon and the Winter Soldier over several years. years leading to Captain America Brave New World. So I do think as part of the original plan, there's supposed to be more passing back and forth. So that's why I feel like if Vision Quest has the capability
Starting point is 00:07:23 of getting out and handing off to, I think February is almost impossible. But if they could push that a little further down the line towards Fantastic Four, it would be a cool way to sort of balance out the multiverse saga, which is about to get very, very multiversal heavy
Starting point is 00:07:39 with another one of their plot lines that they need to wrap up before everything explodes? I mean, I'll see this about Vision Quest. You know, this is, you know, there's, with Marvel TV, there's two different eras. There's the, oh, let's just put the characters in a movie
Starting point is 00:07:55 and cut it up and make Moon Knight era. And then there's the post explosion, like post-implosion, where, you know, Daredevil Born Again is the marker for that, where they started it without a real showrunner, and then they developed a format with real showrunners. And Terry Metallis is about the, I mean,
Starting point is 00:08:11 one of the best showrunners you could get for this So I'm full faith that they actually came in with completed scripts. I don't think that Terry would want to rush things in post. But, I mean, the guy to 12 Monkeys, he's used to like tighter turnaround schedules. And it's not like, for instance, Ironheart came out late because it wasn't done. They just wanted to, you know, it was sitting there. So if it's a good script and if it comes together, I can see them putting out Vision Quest sooner rather than later. I wonder if some of that leaked art that we didn't, we're not really going to show on the channel,
Starting point is 00:08:42 but some of that leaked concept art could have even been for a Vision Quest. That's a big question in my mind too because then the question becomes does Star Lord come back on Vision Quest before he shows up in like this Young Avengers movie or is that only big enough for a multiversal Young Avengers movie?
Starting point is 00:08:59 You know, there was one of the arts that I think as like a troll and like a fun character had Dute the X-Men character off to one side and I'm like, we don't have time to speed run Dute but Dute in a multiversal setting would be fun. Dup. Oh, wait, not dup. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:09:13 Oh, wait, what is his name? It's dupe, right? Yeah, okay. Well, the thing about that is, remember, like, Rocket Raccoon appeared in concept art for Loki. Sometimes they just do that. And I don't think this person would have posted that concept art had it been accepted as actual concept art. I'm also not so sure it was a fake, that it was a real leak. I think they did it on purpose to get us, like, some kind of inkling and vaguely excited about this.
Starting point is 00:09:35 I don't trust these people as far as I could throw them. Tommy, you haven't had a chance to talk yet. What are your thoughts on this as far as, you know, missing movies and whatnot. Yeah, real quick, because I got to get back to work. But I just want to say, yeah, I think I agree with Dave that there are some things that we need to tie up. I know like Shang Xi has to come out. I know you've talked about that earlier in the video, but it's like we do need to, we need to follow up on that character.
Starting point is 00:10:02 I also think that it is a place, if they want to do something with a little less special effects driven, And there's a real landing spot now if this Daredevil show is launching these kind of more grounded characters into this transfer for Heroes for Hire-Style show
Starting point is 00:10:20 if they want to bring the all of these characters or movie rather or event perhaps a special recent with Finn Jones back as Iron Fist? Uh, yes, absolutely. Okay, okay. I never saw a scene two.
Starting point is 00:10:31 I heard it was an improvement. I'll, I'm riding with you. And only that character. And only that character. No Jessica Jones. No, no, no, Luke Cage. Right, right, right. I think, I think that there is a desire for these Netflix-style characters to come back and be introduced to the MCU and what better way than a grounded, easier to produce, cheaper to produce movie that they could get out faster.
Starting point is 00:10:54 They don't need to draw a bunch of space aliens. They don't need to draw a bunch of, or illustrate a bunch of ships, all these massive space set pieces. Instead, you've just got bare-knuckle brawling on the streets of New York the way I like it, baby. Yeah, and if you guys don't know what might. Tommy's referring to, there's a comic book from the 70s called Heroes for Hire with Luke Cage and Iron Fist, or Power Man and Iron Fist is what they call back then. Power Man, but that, that, you could also take that and just use all those. It could be the Defender's Light, you know, like Brian and Jessica Jones. Now, we do agree on one thing, and I think this is a production necessity at this point.
Starting point is 00:11:31 Whatever this project is in February, it's either going to have to be a secret they've already been filming, which is my theory about the X-Men. I'm going to get to him a little bit. or it is something that is incredibly low budget. Like I mentioned earlier, Shang-Chi, and we've heard that Spider-Man 4 still doesn't have a finished screenplay, so Dustin, or Dustin Daniel Cretton, is busy on that. So I don't think he's worked on Shang-Chi,
Starting point is 00:11:54 but in theory, you could shoot a grounded kung-foo movie and get it out in the world in less than a year. Not with Marvel, though, because they insist on dragons and laser beams and all this other shit in the final act to tank all the really nice grounded action we saw before. But that also, if Blade was finished, I think maybe that's a spot they wanted for Blade. Could be, right?
Starting point is 00:12:14 As far as the Star Lord of it goes, you know, there is a Christopher Pratt did, Christopher. Christopher Pratt. Christopher Pratt. Like when he takes on, like his Oscar after he's nominated, he wants to get nominated for Oscar, so he starts saying, hey man, if his name was Harry Ford, he never would have been cast as in here. He's Harrison Ford, right? So if Christopher Pratt, which is what we call him on the channel now, If Christopher Pratt, he's busy shooting a show.
Starting point is 00:12:42 He's got some show on Amazon, which I didn't know existed until I heard about it being a conflict with what he might have to do at Doomsday and Secret Wars. It's always been that way, though. I mean, like Benedict Cumberbatch was never in the same room as Robert Downey Jr. when they shot Infinity War. But that's a potentially thing where maybe they could get him for TV because he's already doing TV, but then maybe the production schedule doesn't allow it. You know my thoughts. I want to see Star Lord just headline an eternal sequel. I think if they want to get both things done, that's the way to go, but nobody at Marvel returns my calls. So, February's one where, again, I think it's most likely it was a placeholder.
Starting point is 00:13:19 They don't want to let it go just yet. We might even see, like, some other Disney movie slide into that. It's just they don't want to get rid of that steak. I do before we move on, want to say that there is a mad fever dream world where Chad Sahelski slides in and they are able to pop off a blade because they have enough of it. versions of the screenplay and stahelsky's work with marvel tons of times before he knows how it works it's it's very very tight but wouldn't that be fantastic they said they wanted blade to be smaller r-rated 40 million dollar budget yeah so like that's definitely something that you could push through
Starting point is 00:13:53 the production schedule a little bit more it does uh have a lot of vampires in it though so like it's not going to be visual effects light but it might be slightly easier to be special effects heavy and not visual effects heavy too i mean there there's ways they can balance that out. Like you said, though, it just depends on the creative. I mean, there are wonderful indie filmmakers out there right now who could absolutely take that money and bang out something that was bad in a good way or good in a bad way, however you want to look at it. So that kind of addresses my question about what could get made. And, you know, Dave, you wrote about this in the book you co-wrote called The Rain of Marvel Studios. We can sit here, we can fantasize
Starting point is 00:14:34 about all these different things, right, that we want to see, and Moon Nights. season two and things like that. At the end of the day, movies like The Avengers do butt up against actual production schedules. They butt up against actor schedules. And we, I think right now, we're doing a pretty good job taking that into consideration. I think we're also being very grounded and
Starting point is 00:14:51 realistic. We acknowledge there won't be a World War Hulk movie that suddenly surprises us next February. But, before we move on to more concrete things, what do we, what would we really like to see this movie, the February
Starting point is 00:15:07 film B, before we move on to the November, if you had your druthers, if you could just see that fantasy film in there, and I don't want to hear a movie called, you know, Tommy Bechtold dates Sidney-Sweeney. That's not the kind of fantasy movie we're talking about. What is that you guys would want to see? Tommy Bechtold dates Kate Upton. No. Okay. All right, right. No, all right. Let me think about this. Let me think about this. That's a good question. I hear us for hire is a good answer, though. Especially since Luke Cage is teased and Dare Devil episode one, there's a Harlem's Paradise ad. And, you know, right now, Kristen Ritter's in New York, coincidentally at the same time they're shooting season two. So I think that they are
Starting point is 00:15:47 going to get that band back together and you never know. We might, because Daredevil season two will be out next year around the same time, you know, God willing, no disasters or anything like that, which they're going to get in right in the wire right before the entire universe explodes. It'd be a shame if they had to delay that one a couple months, you know what I think? sure would be yeah yeah i would love a cloverfield here where they're like 70% done on something that we just have no idea about because of some chicanery and weirdness um i i swear to god i'm gonna talk about this with you guys later i really think that we might get a secret x-men movie but again like what is it but that's grounded in reality kind of i want to hear your your thoughts and your
Starting point is 00:16:29 your greatest wishes it can be something that they've teased or not then you could say world war hulk i don't care. I just want to hear some on out of your mouths. It gives me hope and joy in this universe. That is my, that is my, uh, I call it the gathering of the hulks because it reminds me the gathering of the jugglers. I want a gathering of, of the Hulk and Hulk adjacent characters. I mean, for me, I, I, my first action figure when I was a kid was a Hulk figure and it was like an enormous oversized figure that I couldn't swallow any of the pieces, which is I think is why I got it. And I, I've been a Hulk guy since then. You were what, 13, 14 at the time?
Starting point is 00:17:03 I was 36. and uh but yeah i uh sorry i i i i would really love to see those those you did those characters uh teased and and revealed uh finally seen on the big screen i mean we kept the the leader alive why not let him uh be a foe from the raft i i i i i for me it would be a a hulk family uh re or maestro if you're going to do the multiverse i mean that that's the thing too there was some of that concept art which we're not going to show did show Hulk medieval village
Starting point is 00:17:38 and they might do that. So we might see aspects of it mixed in there. And that could even be where Scar, you know, like we'll talk about Young Avengers in a second, but that could be where Scar kind of gets a little bit of character development and he's just, and he's not just like the guy with the worst haircut who showed up at the barbecue
Starting point is 00:17:53 at the end of a Fast and Furious movie. Dave, what do you got? If I'm just talking about wildest dreams that are possible given the production thing. Let's go, baby. You don't work at the same. studio, you can say whatever you want. They shot two Fantastic Four movies.
Starting point is 00:18:08 No. Crazy thing number one. No. Okay. They were in production. We knew they were shooting to Fantastic Four. We know nothing about Fantastic Four. They have, you know, a pocket John Malkovich that we don't know that much about. They obviously have Robert Danny Jr.
Starting point is 00:18:22 But they say he's like kind of not in it, but of course he has to be in it. So like, that's just one crazy out there idea. The other one I think is you could boot up a very financially benelior. official old man Logan movie right now. Yes. Shoot it quietly and nobody will be like, why is Hugh Jackman doing a Western like out in Australia that nobody's
Starting point is 00:18:43 talked about? And then just sort of like pop it off. But do that to be your November movie, right? Because like I talked about earlier, you know, if you believe everything Daniel R. P.K. says and honestly, the dude's not wrong much. Anything released between Doomsday and Secret Wars is Battleworld, which frankly
Starting point is 00:18:59 is also just something I kind of want to see from the MCU more often. You look how tightly planned out phases one through three were and, you know, things didn't necessarily rely on each other, but they tied into each other. The idea of doing, like, did you guys, did you guys ever read the Age of Apocalypse in the comics? Do you know what I'm talking about? Yes. So for those of you who haven't. Yes, exactly. For those of you don't know, age of apocalypse is like days of future passed on steroids. It, um, the basically Legion goes back in time to kill Magneto. Instead, he kills Xavier, spawns this whole thing where Apocalypse
Starting point is 00:19:29 wakes up early and he's conquered North America. But they took every X-Men, title and they completely remade them in this universe for like six months and it was a fun creative opportunity and imagine if marvel had done something like that it's the equivalent of that archer season when they become like drug dealers for an entire season you know that that kind of thing like that commitment to a to well i would say commitment to a bit but that kind of commitment to like an idea would be so much fun and really difficult to plan and it also means gosh are we going to get tv shows in that time like apart from multiverse shows maybe not you know I love that though
Starting point is 00:20:06 and the idea of a secret Fantastic 4 movie especially if we got a Secret Fantastic 4 movie but there's always a big but I would like to see it a follow up from Fant4Stic Fantastic 4 as long as we're getting in there and we're being naughty
Starting point is 00:20:23 let's just say we get to see that universe completely fall apart completely get destroyed and Miles Teller becomes the evil version of Reed Richards called The Maker Because let's face it, man, Miles Teller is one hell of a talent. I mean, Whiplash, Top Gun Maverick, I've never not liked the guy in something. And the idea of getting to see him, like Marvel loves to try to revisit their mistakes and things that didn't hit.
Starting point is 00:20:46 Sometimes they don't hit the second time. It's like somebody doubling down on a bad joke. Brave New World the Leader, for example. But I'd love to see him get a dive at that character where he can actually show a version of a hero that goes bad. We haven't really got to see that in these movies. Yeah, I like that a lot. I also wonder if there's an opportunity if we're going to get multiversal wacky
Starting point is 00:21:06 to have some sort of multiversal Asgardian bonanza And that's by, you know, multiple Thor's, multiple Lokies, we've seen multiple Lokies But, you know, multiple Odins could be a lot of fun Yeah And the Thorpeor are a big part of Secret Wars as well So, in the time
Starting point is 00:21:22 That's where my... My mind was wandering towards an Asgardian extravaganza I would like to see I mean, look, leading up to Brave New World I don't want to be one of those people who's like, my fan theory was better. But the idea of like there's scrolls running around, there's Asgardians running around,
Starting point is 00:21:39 and Thunderbolt Ross becomes president, it really does seem like they had a lot in universe they could have worked with, that they just kind of ignored and left for later. And I feel like after Secret Wars, it's not going to matter. You know what I mean? So if you're going to talk Asgardians, man, I'm still hungry for that big multi-world war movie with, well, not Atlantis, Talicon, Asgard,
Starting point is 00:22:01 all these different forces, or just maybe some follow-up, or just maybe some follow-up to Secret Wars, you know? You just brought up a great character that I didn't even, I kind of had forgotten about. We have Namor out there, you know, and what could possibly be dwelling below the surface of the sea. And, man, he was such a great reinvention for the screen, or as we call him back home, Namer.
Starting point is 00:22:24 What do you think about that? Would you like to see a Namor? Yeah, I would love to see that. I think that, like, somewhere along the line, And we got robbed of a Dr. Strange Illuminati movie that I would have hoped would have eventually pulled on both Shuri and Nomore, I think, would have had to have been part of like sort of that brain trust. But now I just don't think there's time for incursions. I think we got to rush to seek a oras real fast. Otherwise, there is, I guess, a slight possibility because if you look at the movies that came in between Infinity War and Endgame, they sort of like tied into the current event in the post credit scene.
Starting point is 00:22:59 They were like their own stories. So I guess it is a possibility that the November movie could be something like a Doctor Strange 3, Illuminati movie, because you're going to have all of these big-name actors signed on for the Two Avengers movie, book-ending it. You could probably have them sign a deal to make an appearance. And Strange has touched the Illuminati of another universe before. But especially with what the post-credit scene of Brave New World is, as tacked on as it may feel, it seemed like the leader was like, you are going to face another team of heroes.
Starting point is 00:23:29 And I'm like, okay, is that the fantastic floor? Is that another Illuminati? Are we going to have an incursion? Could be the X-Men. Could be the X-Men. I do think it's likely, given what we've heard about Doomsday, that it's probably going to be like Captain Hydra, like evil versions of it, which kind of makes sense. Like, it works in a meta way.
Starting point is 00:23:50 We had a video where we talked about this a few weeks ago. But like if Sam Wilson's whole thing, both in the real world and in the MCU, is trying to overcome the shadow of Captain America, what better way than to actually. face off against Chris Evans, Captain Hydra, to show that, like, inherently he's not the best person for the job and, you know, he can prove himself, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. But let's move on. Let's talk about that November release day, right? February is where I think we can get crazy. Because let's face it, that February date's probably a placeholder. They're hoping to put Blade in, but it ain't going to happen. November, however, that's possible. And like I talked about earlier,
Starting point is 00:24:23 a lot of these characters and actors, a lot of these characters have contract commitments. A lot of these actors have contract commitments. They're already going to be stretched then trying to get into Doomsday, which also does not have a complete screenplay. Not the best sign. I'm kind of getting Hobbit vibes off this whole thing already. So it could be a Dr. Strange Illuminati movie. It could also be probably think the most likely as Young Avengers, especially if they're trying to give Vision Quest lead time. Maybe Vision Quest does come out in the April before Dooms Day. There could be some leeway there. Disney Plus isn't going to have much going on on the Star Wars front next year, so they've got some holes in the release schedule. So do you guys, besides Young Avengers,
Starting point is 00:25:03 is there anything else, Tommy, that you think is likely to come in that slot? Just because Destin Daniel Cretton is doing Spider-Man 4, I don't think it'll be Shang-She 2. Otherwise, that would have been my guess of what would go there just because of the timing. And because I have to, I'm contractually obligated by Disney to remind people that this character, we got to see him again. He's got to come back. Where is he? What's he doing?
Starting point is 00:25:29 At least explain the beacon. I hope they explained the beacon in Doomsday, get it the hell out of the way, destroy the rings, because I want a grounded kung fu movie where he goes up against his sister's criminal empire. I'm tired of laser beams. I'm tired of energy that changes color.
Starting point is 00:25:45 I know if MT was here, he'd be upset to hear me say that. He loves the trigger theory. Somewhere I just heard the screams of MTV. Oh, and T, if you're watching, I'm sorry, we love you. But, yeah, I agree. I think they could, but they won't because they want him attached to it, which is fair. It says baby, right? He's writing it.
Starting point is 00:26:03 Dave, you got one? I mean, this is where I would put Secret War as Greenland, or this is why I put the Hulk movie. In the 2015 battle world, that's where all the Hulk's kind of get their own sort of area that's ruled over by Hulk's and they're all Hulk's in it. That is essentially making Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes again, but they know how to do that production process. So it's, you know, what a great movie. You're shooting people on, you know, real sets with real stuff, but just doing motion capture. And I think we've made it easy enough on the actors now that we've seen those performances can get through.
Starting point is 00:26:34 So I could see doing a movie like that, getting, you know, Andy Circus to maybe, you know, do some sort of directorial thing on it. And we know he's, you know, not just of the Venomverse, hopefully, but also very good at those motion capture movies. So I can see something like that sliding in. But I think the wonderful thing about Battleworld is it could be so. Like, you could also put the Blade thing here. I've been playing a lot of Marvel Rifles.
Starting point is 00:26:59 I see what happens when Dracula takes over Central Park. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's go for it. Get in there. Right now. But then you've got to also cast Squirrel Girl, you know, if you're going to do that. I think they already did. They could just put her back in from her, the actress who Boys of Squirrel Girl had that series.
Starting point is 00:27:19 That was going to take place to the MC. I think if you could want an offer do something like that, I think that'd be fun. But just the sort of like slamming your toys together Marvel movie goes here for me if this is the battle world thing. Like, what's your weirdest idea? Honestly, Logan would be the one that I think if you're going to see something adapted and see it done correctly, old man Logan would probably be the, I mean, it's different from the movie Logan because it actually is post-apocalyptic. like the villains rule everything. You could bring in Renner.
Starting point is 00:27:53 Renner could come back as the old Hawkeye and stuff. You could bring in some of these older characters and just like age them up amazingly. Age up everybody around who Jackman. Yeah. There's a couple things like today it was announced. I almost changed the topic of the talk back to talk about this, that Sadie Sink was going to be in Spider-Man 4. My guess is is May Day Parker or like Spider-Gwen.
Starting point is 00:28:13 That's one of the cool things about the Multiverse saga. I feel like we weren't really getting, you know, up until it's almost too late. So I'm excited to see the idea that it could just be variants, people we haven't even met before. And the reason we don't know what the movie is or it hasn't been announced is because it's not going to be revealed till Doomsday. That would also be a lot of fun. I think we can all agree, though, that Young Avengers is probably the easiest lift. Yeah, they got all these young actors. They're probably on contract.
Starting point is 00:28:40 We've already heard about Hawkeye Season 2 so we know that, oh my gosh, Haley Steinfeld's going to be around for a while. And they basically, I think that's the reason we've gotten a lot of these characters. America Chavez, people like that. So if what we've heard is correct, and every movie in that middle takes place on Battleworld, what do you guys see Young Avengers? What do you see happen in there? If it's November. I'm going to say it's something like, once again, the Secret Wars 2015, they had like all these different lines of each book would take place in a different part of Battleworld.
Starting point is 00:29:15 So going off of that, I think you could have, like, a Young Avengers world where they, are just responsible for their corner of the battle world. So in that story also, like, we live, like, I think a full eight years in battle world before the secret war actually kicks off. So having the Young Avengers sort of like having got together at a Young Avengers, but sort of like tongue in cheek, the fact that they're just the normal Avengers at this point in this battle world, I think would be the easiest way to sort of put them all together. like Kamalakad got them
Starting point is 00:29:50 she did her whole Nick Fury gathering thing in battle world in this time period we didn't see and so now they're all getting together I like because I think the great thing about the young Avengers
Starting point is 00:30:01 is they could be solving a very local problem like the Avengers you know save a city at a time until there's a big battle with Thanos I don't think the young Avengers have to solve the secret wars
Starting point is 00:30:12 that's obviously for the overall Avengers to solve I think they're going to set something up that's important though I mean, I think they're, I'm hoping, you know, we're assuming it's Young Avengers. I'm hoping that becomes what we thought Captain Marvel was going to be, Captain Marvel 2019, where we're like, okay, so she's going to be key in defeating Thanos, and she was teased, and she, she wasn't, you know, but the movie instead focused on the OG Avengers and not complaining, but it would be great if whatever they do, Tommy, feeds into that Secret Wars movie.
Starting point is 00:30:41 What do you think? Yeah, no, I agree. And I'm wondering, so then that, to me, that would imply that they, that they have to, in that movie introduce a key villain in the Secret Wars, you know. Oh, I love that. So I'm wondering, you know, is that going to be another variant villain of, like, is it going to be the evil version of someone that we know and love, you know, is that Hydro Cap?
Starting point is 00:31:03 Do they, you know, is it, is it, like, is he the, is he the villain in the Young Avengers movie leading into the comic, do we lose one of the Young Avengers in the Young Avengers movie, you know, motivating that conflict? further into the Secret Wars. Yeah, it doesn't look good for Cassie Lang. I'll tell you that much. We just got Billy back. No!
Starting point is 00:31:23 No! Billy and Tommy both. Just die again. I mean, I think that you guys agree with... Another person wakes up. Oh, recast. Do you guys agree with what I said earlier, though, that likely Vision Quest is going to be about bringing back Tommy?
Starting point is 00:31:38 He could also be assembling the Young Avengers. I mean, but Kamala Khan's already kind of doing that. So I doubt if that's going to happen. It makes sense with what they would have pitched as the arc of, like, the Wanda Vision split into movies and then back to a TV show. So I definitely think if they can land that. And also, Terry Mattalus, that's essentially what he did with Star Trek. So why not bring him to gather all these desperate characters together and stick the landing?
Starting point is 00:32:01 I have high hope in Vision quests. Don't let me down, guys. Oh, me too, me too. I don't know how many episodes it is. And like I said, we know they're filming and we know some of the casting, like Todd Stashwick, who's great at the crime season three. He's fantastic. And he's like been with Terry since, like, you know.
Starting point is 00:32:17 was on 12 monkeys and, you know, their friends and stuff. So of course he came along. I don't know. I'm excited about that series. Like the, now that we're kind of over this mid hump and we're still getting some things that like we're, I think Brave New World was okay. I think it could have been amazing. I think Thor, Love and Thunder was okay, but it could have been amazing. I really feel like without studio pressure, they are more free to like spend their time and money more wisely. I kind of feel like a broken record because I keep talking about how I think Young Avengers is going to be Vision Quest and bringing back Wanda so she can play a role in Secret Wars. Blah, blah, blah.
Starting point is 00:32:54 I don't want to get into that. What I want to talk about is what I think might be in February, right? And this is going to, this is a long shot, I know. I'm thinking Secret X-Men movie. Let me explain the logistics here. There was a rumor that the reason Marvel didn't dive right into relaunching the X-Men is because those actors had a right to first refuse on a new script until a certain amount of time passed. Let's just say they decided to give them their last hurrah in their universe. And the reason I'm thinking this is because of the ending of the Marvels,
Starting point is 00:33:23 which set up Kelsey Gramer Beast. Why set that up? Why mention Charles if you're not actually going to show these X-Men? We've also got Deadpool and Wolverine, which didn't bring Deadpool into the MCU 616. It kept him in his own universe. I would love to see this movie. And believe it or not, I think they could pull this off, a secret filming.
Starting point is 00:33:43 The only reason Deadpool and Wolverine stuff leaked is because they shot outside. Before Avengers Endgame, nothing leaked because they shot it all in studios, no phones. They were able to preserve a lot of those big twists. This is a cast who've already been shooting X-Men movies. They all know how to work together. They could have been developing this script and kept it really quiet. And the reason I think this would be fun is because it would give us that opponent for our Avengers to face. That could be the others that the leader was talking about.
Starting point is 00:34:13 talking about. You know, it's one thing to bring in Captain Hydra or the Illuminati, but it would be so much more impactful, I think, if we literally had these two sides of Marvel facing each other, Avengers versus X-Men. That's what we really want to see. I know it's insane. I know it's unlikely. They've been secretly filming an X-Men movie this whole time, but gosh, wouldn't that be cool? You're crazy. So crazy. It just might work. How much would you like it to Hugh to the Avengers versus X-Men storyline like not at all way too complicated okay okay maybe the first Avengers versus X-Men story
Starting point is 00:34:48 the one where they go hunt down Magneto and stuff but not the new one I mean I'm kind of okay with the new one because here's the thing I would love for when we do get the full-fledged reintroduction of the X-Men post-secret war is just go straight to the Kakoa era because I think we've told I think we've told the persecution
Starting point is 00:35:04 you know of Americans gathered together at a school story multiple times show them be superheroes show them be superheroes yeah teen superheroes though. Well, I mean, teen super, you have a whole bunch of teams in the Kerkowa era. I just think the Krokoa question is so much more
Starting point is 00:35:18 interesting of a framing for the X-Men. Anyway, but in order for it to go there, why not take a last run at the Phoenix Forest where Cyclops kills Professor X? Like, okay. Three times the charm. Why not? Marsden finally gets to blow the head off Patrick Stewart. Patrick Stewart gets to
Starting point is 00:35:34 die for a third time as Professor X. Like, why not? That's the charm, I'm told. Yes. Tommy, what do you think? I know it's unlikely, but do you think that would even make sense for them to do, or is it going to complicate what they're already doing? How bad do we want to see Anna Pack would return? At this point, it's like we've thrown enough ingredients into this pot.
Starting point is 00:35:53 Why not throw a few more? And I also, I don't think it's like, I think it's, I mean, not necessarily essential, but like we're going to see these characters, you know, if it's the secret wars that everyone's hoping for, we're going to see some X-Men in it, right? Like, so let's, I mean, what a way to introduce it that, but with a secret X-exam? Men movie. I think, you know, obviously it might seem hard to pull off, but I would be very impressed, and I can certainly get excited about the theory. Look, I know it's unlikely, but I'm just thinking, I still think, I wish Dark Phoenix would have been just completely redone to do something
Starting point is 00:36:30 to resolve that universe. And I think we are going to see these characters in some form or another in Secret Wars. And then I, you know, however it ends, this universe is just going to be kind of wiped way than I think just be part of the 616 from the jump or however they manage it. I just think that little movie to establish, you know, Monica Rambo in this universe and to set all that up in this coming threat, you can almost call it a pre-Avendors movie, or maybe they could rework it into a special presentation, you know, like they're doing the Punisher special presentation. And they can bang those things out really fast, by the way, those special presentations, the guardians when they shot in like a day, accepting the Kevin Bacon House stuff.
