From the USSF approved territories of Georgia and Kentucky,
and also from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia,
this is the Monday Review.
Hey, everybody, it's the Monday Review.
On Wednesday night, strangely enough.
But it's been a busy week.
Beat Mexico on Sunday night, as we do, travel back to Georgia on Monday,
recorded the recap on Tuesday.
So happy to be with you, too.
Vince, how you doing?
I'm happy to be here, Adam Bells.
You know what I'm saying?
Anytime you can come on here and smoke on an old tree pack, you know what I'm saying?
I imagine that maybe, well, maybe you have, maybe you have not in your travels.
Seeing those little little green nugs with the red hairs, you know what I'm saying?
Maybe they're burnt orange.
Might have a little red tinge to them.
But that's what we're smoking on tonight on this beautiful Wednesday night, March, what, the 27th?
it's in the air
it's in the air ladies and gentlemen and it's been in the air
since uh what 2020 at this point
yeah the new world the post-pandemic world
you know what I'm saying
the man's sisters ain't showing up it seems
it seems they're leaving
they're leaving Ariel and Tuna and them out there to
defend themselves and
it ain't going well
and I'll tell you Adam Vince
just took the words right out of my mouth.
I was going to, I was been smoking on a Mexico pack.
Pretty much everything he said is exactly how I'm feeling right now.
I'm excited to be talking to you guys right now.
I thought this fantastic and expected.
It's exquisite.
Has it lost, has it lost, it hasn't lost any of its luster to beat them?
You know, as it becomes more and more and more expected.
I can't lie.
A little bit of the luster has been lost.
We discussed this on the post game.
I was going to say the post game review,
but I can get on the post game, whatever you want to call it.
There's a little bit of luster lost.
You know what I'm saying?
I didn't feel good enough to where I could just do a full solo pod off the back of this pack.
But it still feels like, you know what I'm saying?
During the game, I was still tense in ways that I'm not usually.
You know, I think you've got to keep doing.
You've got to just keep doing full Mexico.
solo pods, just bury them as far as you can.
Just fully can.
Dig everything out you got.
And it'll be just a, just do it for a next decade.
Let me explain to the non, this is for a non-patron audience this episode because it's the last Monday review of the month.
Oh, wow.
So let me explain to you what we're talking about.
Vince, Vince has now twice done a solo podcast.
And I just want to shout you out here to your first.
face and say, you know, it's hard. It's hard. I actually have never even tried it, but it's like
almost unimaginably hard for me to think of myself talking for more than an hour. I mean,
you went almost two hours, right? By myself. Yeah, with the, with the music in there,
it was like 2.14, but you know, I put whole songs on the, I put whole songs in there.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's outrageous. It's a little under two. As someone who, you know, I make, I make
these videos and put them on the internet. I spend time
talking to a microphone where
I record a thing. After about 20 seconds,
I'm a stuttering mess.
I'm nervous. I can't keep going.
I have to stop.
The well of self-belief
that I have is
apparently just
way, way smaller than
yours. And
I don't mean that as a backhanded compliment
at all. I mean, that's a
tour to force. It was a tour to force when you
did it. Was it
a year ago? Yeah, I think a year ago.
It was last June.
Last nation week. Last nation's week.
And then it was a tour to force this time too.
It's really fun to listen to. And if you were a patron of the podcast, you would have
already listened to it.
Wow. Yeah, that's right. That's right.
It's our most popular. I think we should probably all stop doing the podcasting.
It can just be Vince.
Just throw our resources behind Vince.
Now, I will mention that the original is not public on my personal sound cloud.
You know what I'm saying?
I posted that about a year later.
Well, not a year.
Build your own brand.
Nine months.
You can break off.
You do your own thing.
I just felt like everyone should be able to rejoice in the pack the way that I was.
But yeah, man, I don't know.
You get that feeling.
When you get that feeling, you just got to go.
And I guess it's not a coincidence that even though these were big wins,
interesting matches that we won in the Nations League,
one against Jamaica, one against Mexico.
It can't be lost to fact that there was also, you know,
some drama that was buttressing the matches, you know what I'm saying,
that gave me that extra, that extra, the extra hookspah
to go ahead and get that done.
You know what I'm saying?
If it was just a match, maybe.
But, you know, when you add a little bit of mess to it, that's what pushes me over the edge.
And there was no mess in this one.
I guess it was a messy out on the field.
Exactly.
And it was a controlled mess that was never in doubt.
And that's why the luster is losing a little bit.
You know what I'm saying?
I mean, I need a, give me a rip shirt.
Give me Weston running a, running a T.E stunt over there to spear somebody and take them out.
on the backside.
You know what I'm saying?
I need some of that.
And, you know, we just had a whole bunch of
a whole bunch of choir boys out there in the
in the L tree colors.
For the most part, for the most part.
It was, you know what?
It was that.
They had a choir boy thing going.
It also seemed like our team came in with,
we're not engaging in any of that.
Yeah.
We're just walking away.
No part of it.
Which at all.
Edson had a little.
little bit of his, I don't know, I'm not going to say manhood, but some of his stature taken away
from Gio, which, you know, Waki, excellent job on that video about Gio's S-H-I-T housing.
He's in there scrapping.
He's in there scrapping, and then he's not reacting as he comes at him.
He's out of the picture.
He's 30 yards away.
Right.
So, Gio demoralized Edson in that way, I would say.
and then Edson tries to take it out on Wes
with that studs-up tackle
that drew an explosion off the touchline
from Tyler and Greg
well not really an explosion from Greg
but he came off the touchline
and I think
you know Wes was West
West didn't even care
he was just like what is this guy trying to do
you know and on
Burholt to come out on the field
I want to
shout out Discord
user trace
for correctly pointing out that Berhalter should have flopped
when he got pushed.
Yeah, see.
And I missed it.
Of course he should have.
So maybe that's where the things are changing.
Maybe it's on us to bring the entertainment now because Mexico has to,
you know,
they have to focus all their energy on trying to win.
You know what I'm saying?
When you're the underdog, you don't got time for shenanigans.
You know, well, you got time for, you know,
you can time waste and all that different stuff.
But the extracurriculars, as far as, you know, getting into stuff and doing some intimidation tactics or whatever, whatever.
Yeah, nobody's shit houses in a foxhole, you know?
Yeah.
Like, you got bombs falling all around you.
You're not messing around with that.
Can't do it.
Well, yeah, Greg did explode off the touchline.
That was very nice.
That was nice to see.
That was nice to see from Greg.
I think he's getting to the point where he's about to be back.
You know what I'm saying?
It was a, it was just a weird reintegration for Greg.
You know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
Not a lot of big games, not a lot of stuff that really fully submit himself as hashtag the coach all the way back.
And now he's back.
He got his swagger back a little bit.
And I think now Copa and going forward, we're going to see the best of Greg.
And also on the tackle real quick, just the fact that West saw St and got the pass off in the first place, and it was a good pass, and we had an advantage if the referee wanted to play it, I think that was probably also why West looked so self-satisfied.
It was a really nice pass.
It was.
It tucked it through a tiny little window there.
And to Vincent's point, talking about Greg building back into it.
one thing he doesn't get enough credit for is he's always matching the intensity of the game.
Look at his behavior.
It never looks, well, he does a lot of weird things, of course.
But his overall intensity is always matched to it.
So we can't go out in those first game back and be whipping off behind the back bounce passes.
Right.
Yeah.
Those are for moments.
We're building up when it's going to be like the opposite of the St. Paul game.
Or, you know, we had people leave for hypothermia.
Greg pulls up, boom, selfie.
You know what I'm saying?
That's exactly it.
Now, we might have a Uruguayan baking in the Kansas City summer heat, July 1st, right in the thick of it.
And maybe we get another selfie at that point.
You know what I'm saying?
When the other team is suffering in the climate.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, which isn't going to happen.
I'm just making a joke, of course.
But really, the St. Paul selfie is the best example of that.
matching the moment.
Because it was just,
you're saying just because it was an absurd sort of setting for the game.
Yeah, exactly.
And so he matched that with an absurd decision to do a selfie in the middle of the game.
Some people are starting to call him a genius.
I'm not saying that,
but I'm hearing people starting to say,
this man might be a genius.
I wouldn't put it past him.
And, you know, people talk about BJ, right?
BJ had that run in the sun.
We all love BJ here.
But, you know, you could kind of see that the stepdad vibes come out in the fact that, you know, when the extracurriculars did start in that Nations League semifinal, you know, we kind of lost our cool, we got some reds, et cetera, et cetera.
Now, with this incident we just talked about that happened in this past match, we're competing smartly, completely smartly.
And, you know, we got common ball coming. You know what I'm saying? I mean, if we think we've seen H-I-S-H-H-I-T,
How's he? We haven't seen anything yet. You know what I'm saying?
Calma ball is bringing their full comma bonus to our shores.
So if we're going to do something big in this tournament, we got to be able to,
we can't be taking the unnecessary yellows in the tournament in a real tournament like that,
you know what I'm saying? So.
And to be clear, that is not at all a shot at BJ. He's the dad who's,
the coach who stepped up. Right. Correct.
No question. He did what he had to do in that moment. We got a little emotional.
Right. But he's not hashtag the coach.
And when you got that man over there with them jeans on,
And some Nike airships, you see the authority.
And I think the team realized, you know, hey, we got, you know, daddy, so to speak, it's home.
And we got we got to straighten up.
We got to straighten up.
I do think it's encouraging our coolness and sort of business-like demeanor in this game.
Let me make two quick notes, a correction and a clarification from the recap.
Number one, this is going to be a total non-sequitur, but Napoleon was never in exile in Corsica.
It was Elba, an island off the coast of Italy first, and then it was St. Helena, a very, very, very remote island in the South Atlantic, which is where he died under the supervision of British soldiers.
Pretty interesting.
regret the air.
And two, I've had at least one person
complained that I didn't do enough
to praise Pulisic's touch
to eliminate on tuna
in the lead-up to Gio's goal on Sunday.
And I do think that upon, you know,
careful reflection,
I think that complaint is justified.
It was an outrageous touch.
He did the, he did the Mesud-Ozul,
where you strike it off the ground
to bounce it over somebody.
He did it at full speed.
It was ridiculous.
And truly, I regret that air.
Yeah.
And I will say, it was, I think a word I used was nasty.
But I also understand how you overlook it.
Because what happened next, Gio coming in, Hero Goal, front of the corner, pointing up to the rain as high up in the balcony.
Greg, jogging down the sideline, he's saving him from the...
Save him from...
...sectiles.
with a really emotional moment.
There was a lot going on.
But it was.
Puliswick doesn't mind all that.
He's happy.
All that happened.
He's just going to get in, do his work,
get the team to W.
Yep.
Yeah.
But it was,
I don't know if I've,
I don't know if I've ever seen that, actually.
You know?
I mean, you saw,
there's the highlight reals of Ozil doing it
on shots or passes.
But it sure looked deliberate.
I've watched the replay
I don't know a million times
Definitely seem deliberate
For sure
And to Herk's point
On Twitter, Hercules Gomez
You know, he said a lot of guys
Would do their MCL trying to do it
And you can see it
Like when you see that replay
From the
Touchline essentially
Where you get the real nice angle of it
Yeah, pull he's moving
he does his one cut thing as we discuss on the post game walkie um and yeah he's a he has exploded
and he has to stop itself and while stopping itself he also you know plants that left foot
hard enough to do that chop and to get the ball over um an tuna etc etc so yeah just
very nice yeah a post game by the way that you uh you can get by becoming a paying member
I'm the scot of Patreon
That's right
And you can be a community of people who are
Pretty much still actually unfortunately today
We're arguing about Geogate again
So there's good and bad when you get into the discord
But it's mostly good
And you know you can hear a lot of audio too
Including you interviewed a bunch of people
Yeah interviewed Malik Tillman
Interviewed Eunice Musa with you know
Sanjay and I did that also so there's another thing
You get the you get the Vince Sola
Pods. You get that Malik interview. You get the postgame call-in show with you two.
And then you get this show, the Monday review that you're listening to right now every week.
Every week.
So.
I don't hear about that, though, bills.
Think about that.
They don't?
For his little, $2 a month.
But, you know.
Well, they're going to call us camping with the big bills.
You know, too.
I'm just trying to get out of front.
Just real quick, before we leave Polly real quick,
it's just he's done that, right?
The goal against Panama, equally as nasty.
Maybe even more, I think I'll give him that one, in my opinion.
It's just, yeah.
He's done some nasty things.
Truly has.
What phase are we in of the...
Yeah, I was about to get to the phases.
We had been talking about phases before the recording
in terms of the discourse, where we're
are and I have where I had it and let me know what you guys think I think I think we're in about
phase three of the post-mexico game reactions this normally happens about a few days of past
we start getting into reactions about other people's reactions yes largely about what is wrong
with Mexico and that's amidst a kind of extended period of back and forth where we're getting
much getting into like are we getting much better are they getting much worse is it both
have they always been bad and what are the most important factors and what's going
on. A lot of people talking. I don't think we're going to sort through that all now.
But how are you guys kind of seeing that landscape? Vince, you go first.
I don't know. People are much happier than they were post-Jamaica. That is that is
evident. And I guess I would say since you know, like you could still you could still
run your agenda on Greg, of course. But but I guess I would say now, I
I'm seeing.
That's phase four.
Phase four normally when the agenda's coming.
Yeah, yeah.
Phase three, we normally...
Phase four is when the proxy wars start with Berhalter,
where you're talking about, you know,
whatever player as a referendum on his decision-making.
But go ahead, go ahead.
Which is most of reality.
Like most of our time is spent in phase four,
because you go through the first three phases,
you get to phase four,
it's proxy war stuff,
and then that lasts until the next game.
Yeah, I'm saying, yeah.
It's going to go until June, unfortunately.
So actually, if you don't normally listen to the USM&T coverage,
listen to this, probably take some time off.
I know we just recommended you to subscribe, but to the button, I wouldn't.
Yeah, don't.
Don't do it.
No, you should.
It's a lot of fun.
Phase four is fun.
Let's talk about phase three, though.
Yeah, I think, I think Max, well, go ahead, Vince.
I'm not sure.
Just real quick.
So before we get back to the Burrhalter stuff,
We're getting back to where we are now in the point where the game has been fully digested by everyone who's interested in the match.
And we're talking about different players and positions and position battles within this team.
You know what I'm saying?
Now that we have, you know, some interesting data points.
You know what I'm saying?
one that we've seen.
Tyler Adams, Johnny Cardoso, et cetera.
You know, Tyler's back.
Johnny's trying to establish itself within the national team.
So they're both at a very nice sweet spot for prime, you know, nice discourse, nice discussion.
It's the heart of the debate right now about our team, not about the, obviously, about Mexico.
Yeah, yeah.
So that's the, I guess that's probably.
the main spot where, you know, you got an emerging young talent.
You got the old Wally vet, the captain.
They pulled a, you know, a new trick out the hat in this match for sure.
That he did.
And, you know, everything's coming to a head at just the right time.
It's beautiful.
It's beautiful.
So that's what phase three is for me.
That's how I'm experiencing it right now.
Yeah, I think it's both things, Waki.
It's the sort of earnest position battle question.
for our team
and then yes definitely
to answer your early question
Mexico has gotten worse
I think there's no doubt about it
and that's maybe what I'm realizing is phase three
is different for every person
because for me I was stuck in the
Mexico is getting worse
I've been enjoying
things people at Terd Ferguson
in the Discord shared that
a Mexico publication
was criticizing the coach for not calling up
European-based players
and most players are
a 21-year-old with 118 minutes
played in the Segunda
Second Division of Spain
a 25-year-old who scored 17 goals
with Phoenix Rising last year and now plays in Poland
and a 27-year-old who plays for
Phoenix Arizona USA
Phoenix Arizona USA
Yeah
So they're the USL champions
They're a good team
They're good squad
I don't want to criticize that
That is a pretty cool thing to do.
I mean, I'm old enough to remember, was it, 2017,
Prime Carlos Vela playing for Mexico?
Man.
I mean, he was terrifying.
And I thought Diego Linas.
Yeah.
So, just real, I thought Diego Linas and, well, mainly him would be,
and probably Chuki would be terrorizing us for this entire.
period, you know, back in
2018, 19.
And, yeah, just hasn't.
Hasn't been the case. No.
And then again, another thing,
which I actually don't think we should probably talk about
at this point. It doesn't sound like we shouldn't
even acknowledge it. But they're saying
the Mexico punitive saying
the reason why win is because our players are more athletic.
I said we don't even touch that. We don't dignify that.
Unless you want to.
So, I mean, they're not wrong.
We are more athletic, but we're also a lot better at soccer, too.
Yeah, yes, yes, of course.
Of course.
But, like Tim Reams said, they're trying to play direct, right?
And, I mean, they have no pace.
Middling physicality, you know what I'm saying?
I mean, you're trying to play some Barnsley ball,
and you all got no, you don't got no Darryl D.K.?
You know what I'm saying?
And that was never the recipe for Mexico, right?
So I don't know.
And that's maybe why the ancestors are abandoned in their posts at the moment.
Yeah, because their DNA is to put the ball on the deck, move it around, combine, and possess into the attack.
And, I mean, that would be a death wish for them at this point.
We would bury that.
Bro, like, I mean, this was the last time they allayed us.
Been a while, yeah.
It's been quiet a minute.
It's been at least five years.
I don't think they were allaying us in 2019 either.
One other thing, I brought this up on the recap,
but I wanted to talk about with you guys is this idea that the Mexico fans
in these big regional tournament finals in these big American stadiums,
it does seem like there's some increasingly divided loyalty.
And the evidence is like families coming in
where the parents are wearing green shirts
and the kids are wearing,
or at least one of the kids is wearing a blue shirt.
And you got different people rooting for different sides.
And I got an email about this from a listener,
and he said, who was also at the game,
all around me were families.
This is what he said.
All around me were families,
some wearing Mexican gear,
usually the parents, and many with at least one child with U.S. gear on.
The kids didn't just have a U.S. shirt on.
They were all in, face paint, red, white, and blue, tasseled headbands.
It was so great to see.
He said one incident struck him at the end of the game
when all the Mexican fans are filing out a teenager with full U.S. gear on standing near me,
starts getting grief from one of the Mexico fans who has stopped to jaw at the teenager.
He says, my Spanish is a little rusty,
but seemed like the guy was giving the kid grief for really.
rooting for the USA.
The father, who is a couple of seats away, and full Mexican gear just goes off on the guy.
And it was clear the father was saying his son could root for whoever the hell his son wanted to.
It ended really calm as the guy smiled and gave the kid a nod and walked away.
But I thought I'd just share that anecdote from the inbox.
And see what you think about all this, Vince, because we haven't talked about it yet.
Together.
I don't know.
It's very interesting.
Well, first of all, I got conflicting feelings, because number one, I don't,
number one, if I'm at the stadium at this match, I'm trying to talk the maximum amount of S to the people around me, etc.
Like when I was in Cincinnati, you know, we get that big dove against Mexico.
I'm finding every Mexico fan I can talk to.
And, you know, I'm just, I'm just.
Let them know what time it is. Let them know what time it is with regards to the USM&T and where Mexico is and where we're going and what we just did to them on the field. I feel like it's a little bit harder with all this divided loyalty, with all this Tex-Mex gear that's going on. I mean, I saw so many instances of people. I mean, it's not just a house divided type issue. I'm seeing people with, you know, the Mexico and
USA gear on the same person, right?
Oh, yeah.
You know, it's not just the adults got the Mexico and the kids,
which is also a good time.
But, yeah, I mean, which, of course,
these people are Americans as well.
But it just makes me a little sad because I feel like maybe the,
that basically, I mean, we talked about the players,
how they were mostly, you know,
choir boys within the match.
Well, maybe
maybe they're taking a little bit
from the fans, man.
Possibly.
I don't know.
I think one thing we're finding
is that when it comes to sports,
winning
matters quite a bit.
Yes.
Yes, it does.
We should probably just keep winning
and we'll have more fans of
all,
of every type of, every,
from every background.
Right.
And we're just going to see that
here as well.
Wow.
When it comes down to it, like, this is a beautiful thing, right?
This is like the other side of me.
But that was one side, the fact that, hey, I would like to be on the verge of getting
stabbed in the stadium if I could.
I want to feel that danger.
I want to feel that rush.
You know what I'm saying?
I'm not saying it would necessarily happen.
But, hey, you know, I'm in the stadium.
I'm in hostile territory.
There's 80% Mexico fans.
I'm trying to gloat when and be a little obnoxious when my team wins.
it'll be a little bit harder
if they're just like, hey man,
we root for the USA too.
And I'm just like shit.
I mean, that's word.
And walk away.
But ultimately, of course,
it's a beautiful thing.
And, and Bell's, as you said on the pot,
this is,
I mean,
potentially huge implications
for our fan base
in America.
You know,
I mean,
if we got a ready-made
ready-made
soccer literate
soccer literate fans
everyone always says
you know League of Mekis is the most watched league
in the U.S.
And you're telling me
that
the vast majority
of the people who watch League of Mekis
in the U.S. could be
potentially be converted into
USM&T fans. I mean that's
It's huge.
Yeah.
Or at least their children.
I mean, I don't want to,
I'm kind of a wishfulfiller,
or like, that's not the right way to say it.
I sort of wish things to happen
and then try to, like, imagine that they are happening.
So there may be a little bit of this happening with me on this.
But yeah, definitely that younger generation,
it's a real opportunity.
And it does, I've totally come around to like,
hey, we should just, anytime we can do a friendly
in a big city like this,
we should do it.
You know?
A big city in the sunbelt,
let's go.
Keep working on this fan base
and make it happen.
It's coming slowly but surely.
Adam, do you have any,
because you were there
the whole time.
Is there anything, any impressions you got
because you got to go to the,
you interviewed some people, you were kind of a little bit behind the scenes,
did you anything you picked up on that you didn't know before?
Well, I guess, you know, Sanjay Sujanta Kumar and I interviewed,
like we said, interviewed Eunice and Malik.
And I guess I didn't realize how much action there is at the team hotel in a camp like this.
You know, the days before the game, it played a game on Thursday.
Friday is recovery.
Saturday they have, so most of them barely even practice.
And then Saturday is, I think they had a decently, like a decently rigorous training session.
But then the rest of the day, you know, they're just chilling, waiting for the next day so they can play in the final.
So we went there for sort of interviews that Sanjay arranged, and then you just run into everybody in the hotel lobby.
you run into everybody
and it's pretty cool
and I'm telling you
one of my big takeaways from it all is like
Vince you could do some damage in that
in that setting
your joviality
you know
your good humor
and
I mean you're commanding physical presence
I think we got to get you in there
do some interviews and
see what happens
the one I guess the one
two kind of interesting
things I saw. One, I saw the barbers.
Okay. I saw BJ and Miles getting fades
at the same time from the barbers.
Okay.
And, you know, so that was kind of cool
because, you know, you see a lot about the barbers and stuff.
But the other thing is Christian Pulcic walked by. And Sanjay,
you know, Sanjay's out there hustling, man. He's like trying to, like,
trying to make any connection he can. And, like,
introduce himself to people whenever he can.
And he had some personal connection with Pulisik,
like a friend of his,
knew a friend of his of Pulisik.
When we walked by Pulisic,
he was like,
he was just so bright-eyed
and like making eye contact
with two people he didn't even know
as he walked by,
which is not everybody was like that.
Not all the players were like that, you know.
And then, you know, Sanjay made his,
said, hey Christian, I know this person
and that, you know, da-da-da.
And Christian just looked so loose and happy and free.
It was really wonderful to see.
Because I don't, I mean, correct me if I'm wrong,
but I don't think he's always looked that way for the last five years.
So that was really nice to see.
He was walking from the trainer to the front lobby.
I mean, the USSF takes over like a huge section of the hotel.
Right.
And yeah, that was pretty cool.
Ran into some agents.
Saw Nick Taitagwe in the lobby, you know, who, you know, real sickos will know who he was.
Who still is, he's an agent, but he used to be one of the most highly rated youth national team players.
Played at Shalka at the same time as Weston McKinney, actually.
It's from Milithian, Virginia, my hometown.
I thought that.
Yeah.
I don't know what that gets us exactly
It's got to get us something
It is a fact
Some mooky
I noticed by how you were
Atta how you're talking about how well Vince would do there
And how else
Sanjay was doing it sounds like maybe you weren't
You're not as happy with your performance as you could be
I think I'm just not
I'm not that impressive
In a
I think I like I like I told both you
I back myself if I got any of them
and any of those players in a sit-down interview
to like to draw them out and get them
to sort of see me as a person.
But you know, they have people saying hi to them all the time.
Another middle-aged white guy walking up to them
in a hotel lobby and saying,
hey, how did you good job last night?
It's like that's not.
I wouldn't be impressed by you, but in the moment
and say, I'm not going to stand my setting.
No, it's not.
I'm also like, I also don't have a lot of drip, if we're honest.
Like zero.
Yeah, so maybe that would be too.
It's a pretty drip.
The hotel lobby is a pretty drippy place, you know?
Everybody shows up pretty dripped out.
I saw you got a picture with the barbers, though.
Yeah, I did.
Yeah.
So they were at what, the Ritz Carlton, right?
Was it the Ritz Carlton?
I don't think we're supposed to say.
It was the Ritz Carlton because they said it in the Tyler
Adam's arrival video, the guy said it.
So I'm saying it, and I did not learn that from
inside information. I learned that from
an information security problem in the federation.
Okay, cool.
Yes, that's right. The Ritz Carlton,
Las Colinas.
Okay, so yeah, I mean, that's
just a swanky place.
Just...
In the burbs, you know?
Yeah, I mean, just...
Not by the airport.
Yeah. You talk about a Ritz Carlton? I mean, I don't know if I
ever be able to stay at a Ritz Carlton for a night.
I mean, you look at them prices.
I mean, rooms go crazy.
But, you know,
and USSF uses like half the hotel, you know?
I mean, it's got to be extremely expensive.
Yeah, have you, uh,
so, Bels, you mentioned BJ in the chair.
I'm liking his look, first of all.
Just the fact that, you know, without him being the guy,
he don't got to do, he don't got to go full polo slacks.
You know what I'm saying?
I was seeing him walk through getting this.
metal or whatever.
He just had his shirt on and the shorts.
You know what I'm saying?
I mean, that was full BJ.
All you got to do is put like a 10-gallon hat on him.
But when those little strings on the bottom,
and he's ready to coach, you know what I'm saying,
fall camp, he's ready to go.
Give him a whistle.
You know what I'm saying?
I'm still sticking with D-line, baby.
Still sticking with D-line, D-line position group.
You know what I'm saying?
He's going.
Yeah, he's that guy.
I'm liking relaxed.
Less responsibility, BJ.
Also, Bells, didn't you have an encounter with Jeddah?
Yeah, I told him good job in the game.
And he looked at me like, are you a fool?
Because he didn't really have a good game on Thursday.
Why did you say that then?
I don't know.
I didn't know what else to say.
You know, he's just walking by.
I wanted to say something nice.
And it's a good game yesterday.
I like that he didn't accept that.
though.
I think, I mean, I could all be in my head,
but it just seemed like he was like, huh.
I don't even know if he actually verbally responded.
Did you get to meet Jesse Marshall while you're there?
I know he was at the...
No, but I did, you know, there was,
after the game, everybody, you know,
a lot of people gathered around the broadcast booth,
which is, you know, right at the end of the stadium.
And you can kind of hang out not too far away from,
you know, Dempsey and Davies and Marsh and Abdo.
So I kind of watched them do their thing for a while, like everybody else.
And I watched, you can watch them interview, we watched them interview Christian and Tyler after the game.
But you couldn't hear anything, you know.
Did you have an estimate on how many beers they each had?
I had two for Christian and three for Tyler.
Well, it was a truly that Tyler was drinking, right?
A truly, oh, drinks, sorry, drinks.
I think they, yes.
I did not have an estimate
And how did Marr
strike you in person?
You can't hear,
it's hard to judge
how someone strikes you in person
and if you can't hear him
so you can't hear anything
but he seemed comfortable
and pretty good,
I think pretty good.
And then when I watched the video later,
the YouTube video of that post-game show,
I was pretty disappointed in Jesse
and actually in Clint too
for the way they interviewed
Christian and Tyler.
I thought it was pretty bad.
Like, come on.
You all got to put a little more work into that.
What do they do?
I didn't know.
I thought Clint was bringing his...
Clint was serving his role.
He was bringing some folks, the energy.
Yeah.
Clint, but he didn't ask questions.
He was just trying to make Polisic comfortable.
I suppose that's true.
I don't think he fully succeeded, though,
which is too bad because, like, they're buddies, right?
I don't know.
I thought Clinton was just not asking questions,
and he was just sort of saying stuff,
and then Christian would be like, yep, you know?
So, I mean, if you give Christian an out,
he's going to not answer, you know?
Well, it's a little bit of an awkward situation
because Jesse Marsh had spent the past, you know,
a week and a half, just coming out there, coach, full bore.
Yeah.
Which we got reckless abandon,
has no idea what he's doing,
just destroying his,
reputation.
We got something.
With no idea he's even doing it.
Yeah.
Yeah, of course.
And, you know, we're in athletic articles written about it.
Yeah, about the whole situation.
Yeah, got Greg addressing them in the post game.
It seems like the players are aware of Jesse Colin, Colin Eunice Yusuf.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Chris, he's not even mispronouncing.
He's saying the wrong name.
Chris Richards said,
an Instagram comment on one of Eunice's
photos.
He said, Brother Yusufi.
Exclamation mark,
exclamation mark, exclamation mark.
Do we think Greg is just showing
clips of Jesse all
morning meeting?
It's coming in and watching 45 minutes
of whatever Jesse just said.
It's possible.
It's funny.
Like, I don't know.
I don't know how
that would have necessarily got back to it.
Because this happened like, right,
during this huge gap of games.
Like, it wasn't, he was talking about the Jamaica match
and started calling him Yusuf.
Like, this happened in like January.
Right.
Yeah.
And the fact that it spread is, is,
I don't know, there might have been some.
They've been tracking Jesse for a while.
Yeah.
They're not letting much go by without noticing it, it seems like.
So we should be careful too.
I mean, they did specifically say, no, we don't want him.
to be our coach.
I think we pretty much know.
Do we know that?
I don't know.
Did they?
I mean, come on, bro.
Like I said, in the solo pod, I mean, when have you seen Christian Polisic do a 45-minute interview?
And he did a 45-minute interview at a time when nobody thought Greg had a shot just to talk about how great Greg was.
the one with Raphaonixstein
the German guy
uh-uh it was the English dude
yeah it was English guy
the guy who his questions
he talks for a long time
Christian found the perfect interviewer
yes the guy who talks for a long runoff
like with his question
and basically gives you his answer
and then he can just you know say a few things
so I don't know
like I said on solo pot
I'm done I've said what I need
to say on the entire situation,
it is what it is on this way.
I do have, I do want to defend,
I have a defensive march.
Yes, please.
Because he's gotten a lot of criticism for basically
I have a personal vendetta against Spurraltar.
I don't actually think there's some of that.
That's not mostly what's going on.
I think,
at least in the studio broadcast,
is when he's talking about the game,
he's always doing it through his very specific lens.
which is this red bullion
Martian football
which just isn't very useful
when the team is buying in a different way
so he's just
it's almost like because he's doing that way
he's always talking about himself
in his own ideas in such a specific way
it kind of reinforces this idea
that it's personal that he's attacking
for Holter but really he's just
extremely ideological
about soccer
and maybe kind of has poor social skills
Yeah, because he has no idea that that's how it's being interpreted.
Right.
That he's a...
That's what social skills are.
Yeah, it's all about the interpretation.
Look, I'm not going to instantly poo-poo your hypothesis here, Waki.
Mostly because I've done my maximum amount of hating at this point.
And yeah, that's fine.
I think that's at least part of it.
80%.
He just doesn't like the way Berthelter plays.
Because he has a very strong feeling about how much can play the game.
Well, the thing in that athletic article, right, is that they are not only are they diametrically opposed with regards to the football, but also they do not like each other.
It's what I'm hearing.
That's what the athletic is saying, which, you know, when you actually read that article, it's like, I don't think.
I don't think you really know.
I have any idea what you have.
That was like the only bit of insight that the writer had as far as, like, talking to somebody.
Like sources confirmed that they do not see out of eye.
And it's like, I mean, it could literally be anybody that said that shit.
And then they gave the example of, or they had a paragraph about how Burhalter is from Arena's coaching tree.
Right.
And Marsh is from Bradley's.
Yeah.
Which there's about five things wrong with that.
It's all one tree.
And also neither of those coaches play anything.
like either of those.
There's not,
those aren't trees.
It'd be cool if they're new,
they're both new things.
Right.
It'd be cool if they started out of trees right now.
Yeah.
So,
um,
real quick,
is the conca,
so it seems the nation's league,
it's seat,
so we haven't,
we haven't been involved in the Gold Cup,
right?
As far as like the eight teams,
send them into the last two
renditions of the Gold Cup has been,
you know,
are B teams, I guess.
But even, it seems like the Nation's League is a greater occasion at this point in time, to me.
Than the Gold Cup?
Yeah.
It's more digestible.
It's more digestible as a viewer, I think, than the Gold Cup.
Because you get two pretty good games.
Go ahead.
Sorry.
Finish that thought, because that's kind of what I was going to say.
Oh, it was.
Okay.
Well, yeah, you get two pretty good games.
in the semifinal and the final, at least theoretically.
Gold Cup, you got to watch a bunch of, like,
you got to watch us play a bunch of teams that we should beat 5-0,
and then it sort of slowly builds up to the finals
by the end of it's two weeks long and, I don't know, three weeks long.
And that's the problem.
Concaf isn't important enough of a regional championship
to be that long of a tournament.
Yeah.
Two games is right now, or maybe not two,
maybe it should be eight.
Yeah.
But we don't need that many teams.
playing in a group stage. It doesn't make much
sense. Let's just join the Copa
America permanently and then have
a nation's leader. Nice hate gamer.
But yeah,
I guess there's something to be
said for like an event,
right? Where it's like, hey, you're
getting these four matches
in total.
In total four matches
and one location and
they seem to be putting it, you know,
they're going for it with
these spots that they're putting the games in.
know what I'm saying?
Vegas.
I mean, different.
Vegas, Dallas.
Vegas, Dallas, Denver.
It says no shade to Denver.
But, yeah, they're going for,
they're putting in the traditional American places
where, like, football games are held,
which, you know, they did that for the Gold Cup finals,
too, you know, it's in so far.
And they pull different spots out.
But I guess the main thing here is just the fact
that it is an occasion.
And people know where it is.
People know where they're going to be, you know what I'm saying?
And they can go ahead and just plan for that fact that they're going to be there for five days or whatever.
Similar to like, you know, an All-Star game or like MLS, well, not MLS final, but like an NWSL final or something where they, you know, they pre-select the location.
And because of the fact that that location is set and everybody's going to be there at the same time.
It just feels like a bigger thing.
That's what it seems like.
Decide the Conquay half champion in a long weekend in a cool city.
Yeah.
Atlanta next, please.
That's simple.
Which we did just decide the Conca Cap champion.
The Nation's League is a champion.
Yeah.
Also, Gold Cup bleeds into the preseason for club teams in Europe.
It gets complicated.
Nations League's just like in a tidy little window.
Boom.
And we didn't know this was the most important tournament
until we won it three times in a row, though.
That's right.
No, we should.
We should admit that.
But the truth did emerge over those three tournaments.
It became clear who the true champion was.
Oh, so also, I do think it's,
maybe this is just something in my head.
But I guess the fact that, like, Paramount's there,
like it's a Paramount Plus CBS thing.
And, you know, you got Kate Abdo, blah, blah, blah.
Like the Fox panel just don't hit the same.
They don't get that same, you know, the same clout, in my opinion.
I mean, Kate Avdo's in the house.
It feels like a big deal.
Right.
This is a fan.
Yeah.
Exactly.
She's just really good.
She's very good.
I should say Dempsey was very, very good to the fans.
You know, everybody wants a picture with him.
Everyone wants his signature.
he was doing that a lot.
I did not see a lot of people asking for Jesse's signature.
What a picture with him?
Yeah, Jackie.
Jackie did it.
Okay.
Yeah, Jackie told Jesse that she listens to his,
I don't know if it was halftime or pregame speech in that Champions League.
Remember the one was Houseberg?
Whenever she needs to get pumped up.
And he liked that.
Jackie, for anyone
doesn't know,
is one of the most enthusiastic
scuff discorders
who does not listen to the podcast
at all.
She'll never hear any of us.
Yeah.
I've got a lot of you had mentioned.
But she's an important
part of the community for sure.
Yeah.
How about Tyler Adams be going?
Go ahead.
Well, I was just going to ask how the
how did the tellgate go?
You know what I'm saying?
Well, number one.
Wonderful.
Okay.
Just because,
You got so much on your plate.
You know what I'm saying?
You're running the logistics for the tailgate.
You're in Dallas for five days.
You're working.
You know, a lot of stuff going on.
So how was it handled?
How did you get through it?
Saturday afternoon, things got a little dicey, I will say.
But, you know, people help.
People help, like I said on the recap episode.
People are helping more and more.
Claire from Texas, she's the one who went and ordered the food.
Liz, she and her dad brought a cooler full of beer.
That's right.
People are, everybody pitching in.
And we had a great time, saw a Concaf Edgar, Edgar Moreno.
Had a nice time with him.
I met a bunch of the, like, a bunch of people on Twitter who, you know, often don't like us or, you know, are critical of us.
But they're really nice in person, you know.
I won't say their names.
I won't embarrass anybody.
but like you get up in their face a little bit though
well one of them was like
I'm so and so and I'm like man you are a tough
tough customer and he just started
he just started cracking up you know
but you know it's different in real life
it's not like it's not like it is
when you're typing under that
black screen on your phone
now as you're being nice this time
did come as a result
and I hate to maybe we don't want to talk about this
in the podcast but about a year ago
at one game
someone came up to you and you
you recognize them and you said something really mean to them?
Yes, I did do that once.
I apologize.
I did do that once.
And I vowed not to do that again.
But I also, I think I'm a little,
I'm a little more even keel about all that now, you know?
Yeah, okay.
Also, also that to me.
Just how, sorry to, but just how wrong they are helps makes it feel well better.
I mean, I don't know.
Um, did, just like,
obviously wrong about soccer, so it's not a
problem. Right, like I don't care.
No, that's not what it is for the record.
But also, uh, got to meet
Mike Watala from Soccer America.
You know, a real, a real legend.
And, uh, we rondowed.
We rondoed with some,
some young Mexican fans, Mexico fans
in the parking lot.
And, uh, yeah, well,
I mean, everybody's really nice there.
Yeah, what was the overall scene like?
Because, you know, when we did in Cincinnati, right, where we were secluded.
Right, this was right in the thick of things, right off of the main road that goes by the stadium.
And we were mostly Mexico fans around us, I think.
But it was a great scene.
I mean, if you haven't been to a scuff tailgate, you really should treat yourself next time you're in town.
That's free.
I mean, yeah.
You just show up and start drinking beer.
Yeah, it was one.
It was really, really, really fun.
So that sounds all great.
And you made it through this tailgate.
You know what I'm saying?
For anybody doesn't know, I got an open invitation for any of you, any of you, dear listeners, to slap any one of us on this pod.
If we discuss the notion that Christian Polisic is not the best player on this team, on the U.S.
Men's National team, team, because, you know, there's a lot of going back and forth.
has he lost it, lost the burst, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
And, you know, he does his thing, goal against Germany,
on the score sheet for every goal that we scored in the World Cup,
et cetera, et cetera.
So it's like, okay, until further notice,
pullie is pulley, and we will just stand down and accept his pulliness.
And if we ever say it again,
you can slap both either Vince or Adam across the face at a tailgate.
At a scuff tailgate.
And, you know, it's not like we're going to hide from the scuff tailgate.
But I'm here to talk about one Gio Vining Raina.
Adam Bells, how are you feeling right now?
How am I feeling about Gio?
How are you feeling about, I mean, are you feeling tempted to put your face on the line just to make sure that you let the people know what time?
I'm tempted, man.
I've been tempted for three years.
Okay.
I've been, I've been flirting with it the whole time.
It's, you know, it's like they're two different,
they're two different kind of guys.
And they bring different things.
I love the way Gio plays.
It brings me great joy.
And I guess that's what I'll say about that.
Two gorgeous assists, a third pass,
that was just at least as gorgeous as the assist
in that game against Jamaica.
and then this goal, he's so good.
I mean, he's so good.
Player of the tournament.
I mean, Concaf is,
concaf said it.
Adam Bell, do you feel like that?
Yeah.
Okay.
I just don't want to get slapped.
All right, all right.
Okay, I'm throwing my hands up.
All right.
I just wanted to see where you were at.
I just want to see where you at.
So I assume that when you're ready to say it,
you'll just come out and it'll be just busting,
busting out of your being so much that you'll just.
Vince, are you ready to say it?
No.
I'm not putting my.
face on the line.
Not at this point.
Not at this point.
Give me,
give me,
let's see what happens in the Copa.
You know what I'm saying?
I'm really,
I'm really happy that we have both of these players.
I know that sounds like a cop out.
But I guess one thing,
we talked about it on the recap a little bit,
but I just want to reiterate how much I love the way
Pulisic attacks the goal when he does not have the ball.
That,
that one where he juggles it through
the Mexico defense on that
headed ball across from Gio.
Gio was passing it to Hajie Wright
like 100% right.
And Pousik is just knifing through
the way he attacks the goal
when he doesn't have the ball
that brings me a great joy too
just a different kind of joy
you know, more of a like
responsible dad joy
you know.
Okay.
Which is the type of joy you should
should be going for at this point.
Yeah, but I still have, you know, I still have an aesthetic streak.
Yo.
Yeah, I'd be, I'd just, I'd just be worried about your faces with Gio and this Copa.
Because I think you may have to declare him the best, and then you will have to get
slapped at the face.
I'll take it.
I'll take it.
I think it'd be, hopefully somebody gets in on video.
Collision force.
Um, there, so, so there was, there was one moment in the match where I was very proud of Gio.
It was like, I want to say the 67 minute.
I forgot what exactly was happening.
You can list to recap hot for them to explain it.
But basically, it was coming down to Mexico's right side.
And I see a player of fair complexion come over, make a play defensively on a Mexican player.
and I think knocked the ball out to the,
knock the ball out in the touchline.
And I was like,
I know the play you're talking about, yeah.
And I was like, good job, Johnny.
I was like, great job.
You know what I'm saying?
It looked like a prime.
Johnny's soccer play, just being in the right position
and being, and being ready to make a defensive play.
Turns out it was Giovanni Raina.
It was Giovanni Rayna.
It was Gianvani Raiders, ladies and gentlemen,
I remember I was standing up, you know,
never sat down this match.
Standing up.
And yeah.
So that was just good for me to see.
That was good for me to see.
Geo doing this thing out there.
Getting out there, competing.
Geo of the Destroyer.
It made me proud.
It looked natural.
It did.
Perhaps we haven't celebrated it enough.
What do we think is going to happen when he goes back to Nottingham Forrest?
Did you see Burrhalter was lobbying publicly in the post games?
He can obviously help Notting Forrest.
right now. They're in big trouble.
And he can help them.
Greg Burrhalter just loves Giorina.
It does seem like it.
A new leaf has been turned.
They're so far past it, as Gio said.
And also,
Gio, you know, he just sounded good
in the postgame interviews and stuff, man.
He sounded like, I mean, the way...
He's kind of shy, right?
Yeah, a little shy. He was very prepared.
Yeah, he was very prepared.
He was been coached.
I was talking about the group, talking about, you know what I'm saying?
This is great.
And really, we got the beginnings of the full Disney movie, you know what I'm saying,
that inevitably is going to happen.
You know what I'm saying?
Greg Burrhalter and Greg Burrhalter is celebrating us winning the World Cup,
and he gets a hand on his shoulder.
Greg turns, you know, he's celebrating with somebody else.
Greg feels a hand on his shoulder, turns around.
Who is it?
Claudio.
You know what I'm saying?
And it's just a big emotional hug.
It's just they both break down and everything.
50 years of life.
Yeah.
And all the pain and everything that happened just blow it out of them.
Exactly.
And Danielle's kind of still off on the side,
kind of menacing at them because she doesn't do a full.
She's kind of unfortunately saying,
no, take that out.
No, no way.
I'm not taking it out.
Absolutely.
I'm sure she's a wonderful lady.
So Daniel's on the court of menacing, and then somehow she catches, she catches Rosalind's
eye, and, you know, they both make a silent acknowledgment to each other, and then it
kind of goes off, and then credits run.
Credits run.
That's the end.
That's the end right there.
I can't wait.
I can't wait.
I'm just close.
Every day, with every day the passes.
It's going to be a beautiful movie.
Yeah, she does need to stay.
I'm just still steamed up about her coming after her.
It's cool.
She used some bounce past.
I'm never going to stop taking that personally.
Yeah.
It's possible Greg was like she got a point about the best.
I don't know.
He's bringing him back.
He's been doing them.
What do you call that pass where he doesn't bounce it,
but just kind of like, it's not like a behind the back pass.
It's kind of like a.
The one where he came over his head and he flipped it low.
I guess it's a behind back pass.
You know, he went and he talked about to Lexi Lawless about it.
And he was being honest.
He's just trying to come.
get the ball of the players,
as fast as you can.
So he's going to bounce it if that's the way to do it.
If not, he's going to do it a different way.
Yeah, have you all seen the Magic Johnson,
you know, last dance that became a meme?
The he-he?
Right?
You know.
Oh, the one where I'm like, I'm not going to be here?
No, no, no, no.
It's a moment from the last dance documentary.
They were talking about the dream team and like the scrimmages
that they used to have.
Anyway, the people know what I'm talking about.
but I think, you know,
Greg's adding a little bit more to his repertoire.
I mean, y'all know the famous.
Magic Johnson Passes.
He's bringing the thing over here,
cupping it, coming back the other way.
Yeah, yeah, we'll see.
We'll see.
Burhalter has a version of that in him, for sure.
And we're seeing a little hints of it here and there.
Yep.
That's right.
And I guess now we've got to worry about getting the rainers off saying,
Helena, Helena.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'd like them to come back.
I'd like it all to be reconciled.
It would be wonderful.
We got time.
Oh, real quick bells, before we go somewhere else.
I just realized how close the World Cup is.
Have you thought about this?
Like, you know, the fact that we had a winning World Cup and we only had three and a half years to the next one.
Like, I mean.
How fast it came back?
I mean, we're almost 24 months away.
Yeah.
Two years.
It's going to come.
fast.
We're doing basically just a quick warm-up in a couple months.
And then it's World Cup season.
Yeah.
And in the Uruguay game, and this was a discussion a lot in Dallas among, you know, people at the game.
Bilal in particular brought this up a few times.
That Uruguay game is our best chance for a signature win since.
since the World Cup, you know.
It's a big opportunity.
It really is.
You're laughing, Vince, but you don't think it is?
Or you think that's silly?
No, I'm just laughing because that's another Jesse contrived, you know, addition to the discourse.
I'm not, I wouldn't even thinking of Jesse when I said it.
No, no, no.
But I mean...
No, I'm just saying the whole signature win thing and the fact that Bala brought that up is because of, you know, Jesse bringing up.
It's because of Jesse.
Well, that's...
That's one that he could have gotten support on.
Jesse's mistake was bringing up stuff that no one else's saying.
He's saying Georania shouldn't be called in?
Are you not?
Are you know nothing about American soccer?
Yeah.
You're in the media.
No one likes what you just did there.
Yeah.
You have no constituency.
Not just hard to take him seriously.
Hard to listen.
I guess I can't be too harsh as someone who talks into a microphone.
Probably really hard to be on TV.
Let's do a little bit of news before we get out of here.
Unless there's anything else on this Nation's League trophy winning weekend?
No, I think we covered it.
All right, I've got some news here.
Juventus has offered a new contract to West McKinney.
They're offering him less money than before.
He has turned that down.
You can understand where he's coming from.
That's an incredible insult.
I'm offended.
That's right.
It looked legit.
It's not even to honor that.
And hope it isn't true.
I hope it isn't true.
That's my main thought about it.
I'm hoping they came out with a contract
that was structured differently.
And the agent said, no good.
I'm putting it out there.
You offered us less money.
I don't know.
I don't know why I'm trying to justify it.
It's a disgrace.
It is a troubling rumor.
Breaking.
I mean, this is a weird breaking news
because I thought it kind of already happened,
but Tom Bogart has officially reported that the deal between Kavana-Solvin and Manchester City is done.
He's signing a homegrown deal.
He'll be in Philadelphia until he's 18.
And then I guess he moves or something in Philadelphia.
It keeps a sign-on clause.
Okay.
That means four more years.
Four more years in Philadelphia.
So I saw something that allegedly, it's like...
If he gets to the point where he outgrows MLS,
that there's a clause in there that he can go or something like that.
It seems convoluted.
But, yeah, there's, like, language in there to where he doesn't necessarily have to stay until 18.
Okay.
So we know more about this deal than we kind of knew two weeks or a week ago.
Yeah.
There's just a general pathway of some kind we don't completely understand.
But basically if he gets good enough, he's going to go to Europe whenever he wants, it sounds like, after 16.
It would be nice to see, you know, like full footage of a game that he plays in for once.
Or, you know, I mean, it would be really nice to see him actually play against professional soccer players at some point and then sort of make an assessment.
But until we get that, how about a full, like, U-17 game or something?
Well, he did sub on in the Union 2.
Oh, okay.
Right.
Got an assist.
How did he...
He got an assist?
Yeah.
He had an assist.
Oh, man.
That's the first thing I'm doing when we get done here.
I'm pulling that up on Weiscount.
Every touch.
Yeah.
I mean, it was an assist that he basically kicked it long and then the guy scored a goal.
Okay.
So it's not a rush home and tell your family goal assist.
It wasn't.
I'm already home.
It's not family and sleep.
I don't know where I was imagining you were in that scenario.
You're out at the bar watching Union 2 game.
So, I mean, it wasn't like a total boot.
You know what I'm saying?
There was a little, you know, he was trying to do something with the pass.
But, yeah, it was, it was, it was a...
It was good.
It was good.
It was a variance assist.
A noisy assist.
A little bit, I mean, you know.
It was a good pass, though.
It was a nice finish on top of it, all that stuff.
But, yeah, it was a nice pass.
It was a nice pass.
And then I just want to give our tweet of the week award out here.
As we always do.
This week's winner is Eric Winalda.
He tweeted,
should I feel bad that I unfollowed
all the USWNT players
that never followed me back?
And I don't know if we need to answer him here.
I don't think he's...
He's asking us how he should feel,
but...
I think by just sharing that with us,
he's not probably capable of feeling the emotion
that he should feel, which is embarrassment.
See, see, I mess with what we're doing.
Winnaudor because he's just
he just is who he is.
It doesn't seem like he's dealing with a lot of shame,
a lot of,
a lot of,
you know,
he's free to be himself and he just
is himself. So I'll take it.
And the one thing I do want to say here
is Eric Winato follows me
and I don't follow him back.
So I can
I guess I need to watch me.
I don't think he follows me.
I got to see him. I'm jealous.
I can't even search his name.
Well, that's a great tweet of the week.
It's a deserving winner.
I don't think probably anyone will top that for some time.
Yeah, that's pretty good.
I also got to say Alex Morgan was wearing a Caitlin Clark jersey the other day, just for the record.
I mean, which is cool, Bell's, but don't you kind of feel like, you know...
Everybody's jumping on the bandwagon now.
Yeah.
It's a little bit like that.
I see something about Caitlin Clark flashed by.
on some website or something.
I'm never going to read it.
It's like, come on, there's too much of it now.
I agree with that.
Anyway, I'm from Iowa.
So, you know.
All right.
Yeah, like we said earlier, you can get the money review every week.
And Vince's solo pod, call-in shows,
come into the Discord and argue about why Greg Burrhalter
didn't play Gio Raina more at the 2022 World Cup.
That's right.
