Well, there's something that feels natural about speaking to you two on April Fool's Day. Vince, how you doing? I mean, yeah, I feel that sounds right, Tara. I feel like a damn full.

I mean, she'd say it to different people. But, yeah, sometimes to me. I guess we'll get into the NWSL stuff a little later. Maybe we should start in Europe, Tara. What do you think? Yeah, absolutely. Emily Fox is coming home with a trophy. She won the Conti Cup yesterday.

She beat out Emma Hayes. She beat out Cat Macario. They won. They, they meaning Arsenal won to nothing in extra time yesterday. And our new coach caused quite a bit of drama. She pushed the Arsenal coach after the game, and she had something to say about it. She said, I'm not down for the male aggression on the touchline. He got a yellow card, and he should probably have been sent off. His behavior on the touchline was not acceptable. And I think she's going to love America.

I think she's going to love it. So there was apparently some dispute about the, like, the ball system they were going to use, right? This is what I'd have all said afterwards. Yeah, Chelsea said, no, I want one ball. And Arsenal said, no, we want to use one. multiple balls. That's what I got. And according to Idaval, it was Chelsea's switching it up there when it suited them at the very

end of the game saying, oh, no, actually we do want to do the multi-ball system because we want a ball real quick. And that's what he got into it with Cuthbert about, right? Yes. But looking quite dashing in his long beige smoking jacket, I will say. But that's when you got to really watch out. the male aggression. Hey, I don't know if he deserved it.

That's what I think about life. People going to hate on you when you fly. You know what I'm saying? When you really put it on, so first of all, when you really put it on, you attract eyes, number one. And the thing about attracting eyes is they're not always good eyes. You know what I'm saying? Like some people are going to look at you, like what they? see. Other people are going to look at you like what they see, but secretly wish they had what you had.

So, you know, now you are, you're going to draw their ire. You know what I'm saying? And then other people just aren't going to get it. You know, some people is just not for them. So for all my people that be dressing out there, you know what I'm saying? Just make sure that you, that you realize that the risk that you're taking once you, once you pull out your, best and brightest from that wardrobe. You know what I'm saying? There's going to be a lot of the stuff and attention that comes your way. Not all of it's necessarily positive.

That's a lesson that everybody can take from this. Yeah. Sometimes you got to keep your head down. And this guy's not keeping his head down. Yeah, she did bump him pretty hard after the final whistle. Yeah, I like that. Speared him right in the solar plexus. Malely question.

I love the way she talks. I mean, I guess that's the main thing here, right? Is her willingness to just speak plainly about stuff that she likes or dislikes. It's good. It's quite a difference from her comfort and ability with the English language is a contrast to the interim in her working in her stead at the moment. And we only have one more camp until we get Emma stateside. One more to go. That's it.

That's it. Also... It came quick. Time continues to pass. It's an unfortunate truth of life. But one thing about Emma. Oh, so I assume that this is one of the trophies that she had on the slide to begin the season, you know? And so it's looking at.

like all of Chelsea's hopes are dashed. Because like she said, you either won all the trophies or you went none of the trophies. Right? The one slide had four trophies. The next one had zero. So, you know, after losing this Conti Cup, Emma Hayes,

I think it's time for you to go ahead and resign in shame and go ahead and come over to the United States and coach she believes. Yeah. I mean, that's the only way to go about it. You know what I'm saying? You went out with a bang. You gave Jonas the what for

a little context Chelsea is number two in the table three points back of Man City though they have a game in hand versus Man City and six points ahead

All of nothing. I don't think they play each other again this season. Oh, I thought you were saying the game in hand was against Man City. Oh, no. They just have played one fewer game than Man City this season so far. All right. Moving on. We were ready to move on?

Yeah, I was just thinking. Can we go to Paris? Corby and Albert. score has scored two long range goals for PSG in the past week. One against Montpellier. They were both good goals. Anything else to say about her? Very fun goals.

Reminiscent of her time in Notre Dame? Yes. There was a, I mean, obviously there's more to say about her. That was supposed to be a joke, but it's not, you know, it didn't really work. But let's talk about the goals first. One against, yeah, the one against, yeah, the one against. Montpellier and then the one against, who was it, against Hawking? Yeah.

Yeah. Both kind of interesting discussion on the Discord about these goals of hers, because they're not exactly like, she doesn't hit it like a frozen rope. They're both left-footed, for one thing, her weak foot. They're not like a frozen rope, but they are really nice goals. And somebody was saying, like, that's how she scored a lot of goals back in Notre Dame, kind of chop the bottom third of the ball. I think it was Matt Healy.

And chops the bottom third of the ball. and then loops it over the keeper. And then Greg, Greg V made the point, this is the way to shoot from distance in women's soccer because the keepers can't cover as much vertical space as a male keeper. So you just chop it at the crossbar and see what happens. And Corbyn has this. And we've been waiting for her to score from a distance.

Now she can't stop doing it. Yep, yep. Go for placement. Yeah. It certainly seems like she kind of like, broke the seal. She did it once and now she's just got it. Yep. That's right.

So she reposted a bunch of TikToks over the last few years, you know, still only 20 years old that are you know, got her in a lot of trouble, at least on the internet. Yeah, I mean,

it seems like they were uncovered. People found them. It was wasn't like she just did these recently. The most recent one was in like November, right? Yeah, the past three or so years it wasn't like they were that long ago. And it's a shame.

They were pretty bad. Yeah, she's raised Catholic. Her family seems like it's pretty serious about Catholicism. And one of the reposts was about conversion therapy. one was a video of somebody saying that God removed his or her desire to be transgender. I don't know.

What's their say about it? I renounce Corbyn Albert and her posts on social media. I just want to make that clear that they are not inclusive, they are not positive, and they are not something that I would want to see

in the society that I'm trying to be a part of here in America. Now, now, with that being said, as Bells pointed out, she is 20 years old, and I do feel kind of bad just because, you know, as a young person, having your views scrutinized when you probably haven't given that much thought to him in the first place, and you probably don't even know, you don't even know what you believe at 20. You just kind of believe what you've been taught, haven't done any critical thought. And, you know, she's going to have to be accountable for this in ways that most 20-year-olds aren't having to be accountable for their views due to the fact that, you know, she's in the

position that she's in. So it's just sad all around. It's just sad all around at the current moment. But I don't know. It just is what it is. Isn't it? I mean, you saw her, you saw her teammates come out or USW&T teammates come out and basically, you know, renounce the things that they saw saying that they're not with it essentially. And the one thing that, uh, I guess I would say is just I'm pretty confident we'll be able to be handled internally. With the, like, you know, first and foremost, before she has to answer anybody else, it seems like she's going to have to answer to her teammates. And so that's the thing to me where it's like, I mean, we talked about it. We talked about it with when we talked about equal pay a few months ago, the team stands for more than just soccer if you like it or you don't like it. I think it was the She Believes tournament two or three years ago. It's a quote from Kat Macario. They were playing in Florida, and the fans were really upset about it.

Because Florida just passed a trans law that was anti-trans in one way or the other. I don't remember the particular language around it. But Kat said, with the platform we have, we really wanted to show why this team is different and why we do the things that are much bigger than just the game. And the entire team wore tape around their armbands that said protect trans kids. And it got great press.

It made the team happy. And the team came together. to show that they were bigger than just soccer. And it was great. And I think, you know, Corbin will have to answer for these posts. And she's young and she apologized. And whatever is going to happen when she comes into this camp will happen. There's lots of rumors going to.

around, you know, maybe some of the team already unfollowed her. There's drama of float, but I think it's going to be okay. We'll see. Yeah. And I mean, this is you know, the leadership right

at the U.S. Women's National Team has been in flux ever since, you know, he's trying to make this transition. You know, we've had our faux pauses from Lindsay, et cetera, et cetera. But none that really matters. Well, really matters. It didn't seem to matter too much in the grand scheme of things. You know what I'm saying?

Everybody took their shots or didn't take their shots at Lindsay and what she said. And, you know, when the team came together, everything seemed to be okay. Now, this is a greater test of whatever leadership is, um, whoever the leaders are and whatever leadership is being demonstrated within the group, uh, it's something of course it's something a little different than

taking pictures before the game and calling your mom stupid et cetera um so we'll just see how it plays out we'll just see how it plays out but I'm a person that hates self-inflicted mistakes yeah that's the thing

there was no reason for her to yeah she's young but yeah go ahead Vince sorry yeah I'm I mean, it's just like, why? Why? But maybe it's better out than in. And some good can come from this.

Some growth can come from this. But all that remains to be seen at this point. And do you think the parallels with... Just real quick. And ultimately, I can't say too much because the arbiters will be her teammates. And I guess Emma, Twila, et cetera. But go ahead, Bill. I just think the parallels with Catholicism are kind of interesting.

Like the sort of cycle of sin, renunciation, denunciation, confession. You know, it's like all the monks and the nuns on Twitter, dug it up, found it. And then they bring it to the world. Pope Megan issues a papal bull on Instagram. And then there's denunciations all. over. And then there's an apology from, from Corbyn, kind of. I mean. And the thing that's giving me some pause is the fact that it's looking like the Albert family might be the type to dig their heels in. That's the thing that's really that's really got me, that's got my

wheel spinning because I'm like, oh, man. Have you seen, have you seen her mom's likes recently? Yeah. And I saw a couple, a couple family TikToks. And whatnot. And if this makes his way of the Fox News, I'm going to just bury my head in the sand. It already has. No, man. Corbyn's the golden girl right now. This is going to be so sick, man.

Okay. Yeah. Hopefully we don't get there. Please. Of, like, the libs of TikTok account? Corbyn's like. I heard. I didn't hear about that, yeah.

My main concern with Albert Rumi, I mean, again, I also think she shouldn't have said this stuff or shouldn't have reposted this stuff. It doesn't help anybody. It's not kind or loving. But my main concern is I still don't know if she can play on the half turn, you know. Like, come on. Like, she can score these goals with space to hit it from 35 yards, but could she help us possess through the middle of the field? It remains to be seen.

It remains to be seen. I don't think she had a great gold cup. No. And apparently she wasn't that great against hacking other than the goal. She was all right, but, you know. She's just a little clumsy in there, a little clumsy. Anything else? on that.

So we've got Katarina Bacario. Hopefully she'll be basically fully healthy by then. And then PSG versus Leon. Again, those are going to be starting April 20th. And I want to pause there for a second, if you'll allow me.

Barcelona B. Vince, I was doing a little internet sleuthing on our little Barcelona B baby, Gamero. She tore her ACL last year. Right, right. And she's back in the gym. I saw her. She was back on the gym and she was riding a bike.

Just a little update on Gamero. I thought you'd like to hear. That's all. All right. It's great news. it's great news. I was just hoping that she would be on a field or something. When you brought this up, Tara, you know what I'm saying?

You had a great lead up until the news that you were about to drop on me. You know, I stay off of most social media except for Twitter. So I had no clue what was going on. But the fact that she's on a bike, I'll take it. I'll take it. I came in too hot. Okay. Because really it seems like it would have been way too early for anything.

else to be happening. I mean, I forgot when she, exactly she tore it, but it was a little bit into the season. Yeah. I think it was late last year, honestly. Yeah, it was definitely in the spring, wasn't it? Yeah. So, okay, but if we get, really,

so it's really, we need, we need Anya to get good. Yeah. We need, you know what I think we need, is we need some We need some baller midfielders. Is Claire Hutton the one? Is she the chosen one?

Could she be? I think so, man. She's pretty nice. She's doing very well so far. She's pretty nice. So far? We did a runaway. Yeah, only week three.

We did a rundown of all the young kids in the NWSL last episode. But forgot Claire. Forgot Claire Hutton. I even talked about Alex Weifer, who doesn't play as much on the same exact team. I had her in the notes. I just thought you guys are getting sick of me. But yeah, I mean, I guess we can just move on to the NWSL. Claire Hutton is very good.

She's quite good. She's the starting six at Kansas City, top of the table. Has started every single match. I want to say she's played 90 every match. I'm not totally. She has. Okay. She has.

top of the table she's just she's very smooth very smooth very consistent with her technique can take a bump can ride challenges

I don't want necessarily call her press resistant yet but I mean it's it's pretty hard to get the ball off of her I mean she really can just

I mean in this game that they played against Angel City, she took a couple solid blows to the back and, you know, she didn't go anywhere. She, you know, she was able to withstand it. I mean, you know, she had Ahmadine Henri hitting her a couple times and it was just like,

it's a fly on the back, you know, let me, let me swap that away. I'm going to keep this ball. I'm able to, you know, pass it back or do whatever with it. But yeah, whenever the ball comes to her, she mostly knows what to do with it. Has good instincts of combination. I won the ball for, Currant's third goal

The week prior They were in San Diego It was the first time San Diego Wave Has ever lost their opening home game First time ever She took out Alex Morgan Got up, wiped grass off of her face Like she's been doing it for years

It was hilarious She looks tough She looks awful tough in the tackle Is that the expert analysis on her assessment of her? Like she's as good in the tackle as I would like to think she is? Yeah. I think she looks very good on the tackle. Yeah, she's pretty good.

Pretty good reading the game. Able to makes good steps, you know what I'm saying? When she's able to read a ball, read a pass coming, you know, able to snuff out counterattacks and whatnot, probably can get a little bit better closing down. in in situations where like, you know, she doesn't have her target lined up, you know what I'm saying? When they're just when they're just in their defensive shape or pressing as usual. You know, it's just that that small space quickness probably can get a little bit better. Once again, she's 18.

That'll come with time. But, yeah, everything I'm seeing so far, I'm really like it what I'm seeing for Claire Hutton. she's very good yeah went to san diego and told Naomi Germa Alex Morgan and Jaden Shaw have a have a plate of else

and then the other thing I want to say about her what a great she's got a little scar on her left side of her lip it's very it looks very tough have you guys seen that I'd like to know how she got that scar

With regard to Jalen Howell You know what I'm down on Jalen right now I'm mad at Jalen so I'm going to go ahead and put, I'm going to go ahead and put Claire up there. Claire's, yeah,

Claire's performing better, on a better team. Like I said at the beginning of the show, I don't think Jalen is, she's not all the way back yet. It doesn't seem to me as a real Jalen watcher. But yeah, I'll put Claire up there. I mean, well, Claire's 18. Jailen's 24, something like that.

Probably going to be 25 this year. Yeah, if I, the smart money would be all clear. He is. Andinovsky, just real quick, Tara. Ananovsky is from North Macedonia. Yeah. Just for the record.

I hear about that a lot in my house because my son is really into Alexander the Great. Okay. Go ahead, Tara. Keeping with Hutton real quick, the U-20s are going to Germany and very few pros were released. But they didn't have to be released. which I think is important to note because the likes of Claire Hutton

was not on the roster Alex Pfeiffer wasn't on the roster Ali Sittner wasn't on the roster all of these big players who are likely going to be at the World Cup in October so I just

thought it was important to note these players that were keeping track of I am assuming that they are going to be at the World Cup in October, but they're not going to camp right now, early April in Germany. That's all. Yeah, we'll look at the time for that. No. One other thing on Hutton, she was, I know you guys know this,

but she was the captain of the U-23 team that did so well at the Pan American Games. U-19. It was a U-19 team? Okay. Yeah, it was a U-N-19. Wow. Unite teams who took on all the senior teams. Right.

Right. Beat Argentina. Yeah. So she was the captain of that team, which I think was pretty cool. Yeah. I'm very impetuous with Claire. Also, just to stay with this match real quick, Bells, you brought her up last show, but Bea Zanarato, I mean, it's an absolute force. Amazing.

Absolutely force. I mean, they could do nothing with her. I mean, on that third goal that Claire Keyed when she won the ball, I mean, she put Paige Nilsen and just hell, just received the ball. I mean, she looked like DJ Burns out there, if y'all watched the game yesterday. Received the ball back to goal, spun off of her.

I mean, just discarded her. I mean, Paige Nielsen went flying when Bia spun and played in, and played in Chawinga, who I think scored that goal. But yeah, Bia is just it's been an absolute brute force. Fun to watch. I mean, some real old school center forward play.

I mean, it can do it all. Back to gold, combine, finish, make runs, et cetera, et cetera. She's put on a clinic out there. Also, one more good. Well, kind of good. I don't know. So Kennedy Fuller continues to start for Angel City.

nowhere near as impressive as Claire Hutton has been. I mean, Claire Hutton has been legitimately a good NWSL midfielder so far. Kennedy Fuller, it's more, she looks like she's 17, you know, when she's out there. There's some good, there's some bad. She's doing a decent job defending. That's probably where she's doing most of her good work so far. Put a little hyphen on it. Angel City is a legitimately bad team right now.

Correct. And Kansas City is a legitimately good team right now. Correct. But this is, you know, like all of Fuller. All of Fuller's games that I've watched. Like, you know, she's doing all right for a 17-year-old, but it's kind of tread and water a little bit right now, which no shame.

No shame, of course. her birthday's already passed so she's a true 17 year old like this whole season she will be 17 also the same with Claire Hutton too Claire's birthday was in January so she will be 18 this whole season as well but uh hey Kennedy's plan she's playing for Angel City and uh we'll take it yeah we'll take it we haven't been able to see that much of her qualities yet so I don't really know what kind of player she is. Also, Angel City is doing some very weird stuff. They had, like, you know, they had, they had Kennedy as kind of a part of a double pivot with Henri trying to, like, you know, receive the ball from the, from the centerbacks. But then also Kennedy is like a part

of their front two and their press as well. It's, it's very odd. They're asking her to do quite a bit, which once again, we'll take it. Also, uh, One slightly bad. Alyssa Thompson does not look herself, has not looked herself so far this season. No, she was dealing with injury coming in, had to miss the Gold Cup, et cetera. And I don't know what the injury was,

but the burst just ain't there right now. Mm-hmm. And so I'll be monitoring. Like get a doctor and a psychiatrist type of thing. Yeah. I don't know what's going on. Also, Angel City had like two left backs out and Giselle did not start. Giselle's hurt.

Oh, Jesus Christ. Giselle's not there. Yeah. Angel City's cursed. They're going through it right now. Okay. Understood. Mouse Watson.

We should talk about her. Valerie, Diane. First goal back since the big old injury. Pretty nice goal, too. Tucked it in far post. Is that right foot of hers? The thing I notice, the thing that's got me the most excited about her is that easy, smooth acceleration. It seems like it's still there.

She just, like, glides past people. Yeah. She's very clearly back. It doesn't seem like, it doesn't seem like she missed so much time if you, like, just didn't know what happened or whatever. It seems like Lauren has some pretty decent ideas on how to just get her on the ball, like as much. as possible. They're looking for her in her press break. They're able to find her.

She's able to find, you know, pockets of space multiple times a match where she's, you know, able to collect it and just, and get to running up the pitch. Yeah, everything's looking good. It's full speed ahead with Mal. You know, there's no, none of the caveat here, nothing to like, oh, give her some more time. She'll, whatever.

Yeah, she's looking like Mao. Went to full 90. over the weekend. And this isn't one of those things where she's easing back into anything. Once the season started, she was going 80. Week two, she's going 80. Week three, she's going 90. Like, once camp starts, I'm having Mal play both games.

And then, of course, the coffee goal came later, which was, I know we discussed it a little bit, but she did dance past Jalen Howell and then it's a real nice shot. Kind of look like a number 10 there for a second. I don't know. She had a dinner. It was quite nice. Quite nice. Yeah.

Trinity got an assist in a 2-1 win for the Spirit. Could have had like, I guess we're, could have like six assists in this match. If you watch. She was on fire. Yeah, she was on fire. Was she? Yeah, I mean, Trinity's back. Okay, good.

We need her back. She's been quite good the last two weeks. That's wonderful news. Yeah. So had the assist. Also, her pass that Corey Bethune kind of, kind of did a croif touch to receive in the box that earned the penalty for Washington Spirit's other goal. So, yeah.

Yeah, it was a, yeah, like I said, Trinity could have had like six assists in this match. She was killing me. I think, I think everybody, everybody will be happy to hear. Trinity talked about her suspension and her being out the first week of NWSL as much needed. Like she was upset about it at first, but she realized after such a long gold cup that she really needed time to herself and time to reflect and a break and how overwhelmed and overworked she felt. And like it re-energized her for soccer again. And yeah, you can clearly see it in her play. Like she looks like a new player out there again.
