Welcome to the SCuff podcast where we talk about U.S. soccer.
All right, the summer transfer window is fully open at the moment, doesn't close until August 30th.
So we're going to talk through the men's national team player pool, the players who have moved, the players who probably need to move, and the players who shouldn't move, and why they should stay put.
I'm Adam Bells. I've got Tara and Waki with me. Tara, how are you?
I'm so good. I feel very fortunate to be here with you guys. A men's invite. I'm excited to get a referral.
fresher on where our boys are. How are you guys?
I'm rearing to go. I'm so excited. We're going to get a big rush of transfers. We've got
stuff that's happened and we're charging into the fall. Let's go. Let's go. Let's start
with players who have moved and quickly work through them. So Tim Ream announced last week he's
going to Charlotte FC. He'll play regularly now, which wasn't the case last season at
Fulham.
So maybe we'll get a little resurgence.
It's probably a good move for him in that respect.
You know, and also, well, go ahead, Tara.
He's going to play in the same league with Walker and Miles, which I'm excited about
because I enjoyed watching Walker and Miles the summer.
And now they're going to be competing against each other.
So we're going to get to see them side by side.
I think that'll be interesting.
It's going to be easier to tell who's the best now.
It's going to involve watching a lot of MLS games.
A lot of them.
That's going to be up to you guys, I think.
I'm going to have to leave that to you too.
Yeah.
It is good.
I'm predicting another surprise Reem resurgence,
another burst of two or three years.
a little bit disappointed he's not doing in St. Louis.
I would have liked a full homecoming.
Yeah.
But.
Do you think he tried to go to St. Louis?
I'd be surprised if he didn't try, you know?
Yeah.
I'm wondering.
I'm predicting a Walker resurgence and a Tim Rheam downfall.
Hmm.
The better blonde.
A better blonde, is it just, is, do you like,
more of his walker's charisma or is it soccer what's what makes him a better blonde than
I think he had a better summer and thus he's the better blonde okay he did have a good summer
he was like he really anchored that olympics team to the success that they did have and he's
way better in the air okay so he's a better soccer player who is blonde yeah I
Really a better soccer player.
I was categorizing it as just blonde.
I think I overthought the whole thing, to be honest.
But because they are going to be playing regularly against each other, we're going to see.
We're going to see.
And both of them are very much in play because, unfortunately, our centerback pool is, it sucks at the moment.
Like even our most exciting centerback didn't have a very good summer.
And that's Chris Richards, in my opinion.
Didn't play real well at the Copa America.
We'll get into him later.
Aidan Morris landed at Middlesbrough this summer from Columbus,
started the first game of the championship up there in North Yorkshire,
went the full 90 in a 1-0 win.
Middlesbrough called him man of the match.
So we'll take it.
I really enjoyed it.
I thought it was a really good game.
Yeah, I thought he was good too.
It may have been a little bit of a courtesy man of the match
if we're being completely honest,
but I think he's found a spot in Middlesbrough.
And I think he's going to be there for a long time.
Could be kind of a career guy, one club.
He plays there until he's about 37,
would be my prediction.
That would be a good life, I think.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah. He fits in there. He fits in there. He does. I'm just like North Yorkshire. I don't know if it's that nice up there. Is it? I've never been.
Seems lovely.
Okay.
I think he feels some need. We don't have a lot of dirty it up midfielders right now, in my opinion.
He's a destroyer.
Yeah.
Next up is Caleb Wiley. He is moving. Well, he has moved.
from Atlanta United to Chelsea, and now he's going to be on loan at Strasbourg.
We'll see, you know.
He's competing with a 29-year-old, a 32-year-old, it looks like, on the roster.
There's a right-back who plays some left-back as well, who has been the captain of the team in some cases.
Speaking in general terms, he has a lot of tools.
You know, he's got a good frame.
He's pretty fast.
He's left-footed.
He plays left-back.
He's got a lot of advantages.
but, you know, we'll just have to...
Good left foot, too.
Can get forward, has some attacking chops.
Strasbourg is, like, we're on the border with Germany,
but I was thinking, like, maybe it's really close to Belgium
and we could go there in October, but no, we can't,
because it's pretty far south.
So.
My grandpa's German club has been there.
I know that.
Really?
Yeah, he's in a little German club.
Like where they study the language of German?
He and his German friends speak plot German, which is just like old farmer German.
And they go every like five years and they've been to Strasbourg.
So it's a club of Germans.
Yeah.
It's not a club of German enthusiasts.
No.
No.
And they speak a version of German.
German that people have a hard time picking up because it's just old farmer German.
That's pretty cool.
They should incorporate farmer German into the club name if they're speaking a special
dialect.
Yeah.
And I can speak a little bit of it.
And my grandpa just yells at me and plot German sometimes.
It's difficult.
How German is he?
Pretty German.
Cool.
End of story.
Let's go to the Aronson brothers.
Brendan, does Brendan count?
I think Brendan counts because he's moving back home to Leeds.
Yeah.
So a move has taken place.
And like you guys already talked about, he played, he had a hero goal to tie the game.
And then in classic Brendan Aronson arc fashion, they got furious with them minutes.
later when he missed a chance to win the game.
So Brendan's back at Leeds, and I think that that's a really good spot for him.
I think it's the right area for him, right, at the championship.
We'll see how he does.
A little bit of a returning of the prodigal son.
That is an analogy that occurred to me, Adam.
Does that make, does that really fit at all?
Or does he just like the way it sounded.
No, it doesn't really fit because you feel like the prodigal son would have more fun when they were gone, you know?
He had a bad time for the most part.
Came on strong there at the end.
We don't know what the prodigal son was doing the whole time he was gone anyway.
The arc of the prodigal son's time away was like lots and lots and lots of fun.
And then by the end of it, he was eating slop out of pig troughs.
So it's kind of the opposite.
the opposite, yeah. I'm glad I asked.
Yeah. Well, glad to be of service.
It's his level, right?
Brendan's level is probably the championship right now.
And like we said on money, he looks pretty good.
Just drag that one shot a little wide.
Hit it well.
Dust off your shoulders. Shake it off.
Move on.
Paxton, his brother, started Utrex for.
game he's on loan from
Frankfurt he didn't
do much but he's going to play which I think
is all we can ask
and then Gagaslanina
Lone to Barnsley
and this is this is someone
something I'm feeling real
down about because our
goalie pool is
not looking too good and
Gago at one point
was someone we were all
very excited about he's still very
young
he's going to be playing but
yeah this is this is something
I'm in
I'm blue about I'm down about
yeah
you know if he plays every game and gets better
it's probably fine he's very young
goalkeepers you know generally
come on later in other positions on the field
but yeah given the context
of our goalkeeper situation
which kind of sucks, just like the centerbacks.
Yeah, I'd rather be watching Horvath that in the championship, I guess.
Yeah.
Okay, well, that's everybody who moved.
Let's go to, so this is maybe the part of the show that has a little more movement to it.
Who's got to sort it out in the next two weeks?
I'd say the most important is probably Weston McKinney.
Wouldn't you guys?
Yeah.
Being treated shamefully by Juventus, in my opinion.
That's not necessarily new.
He's been out of the picture before, but this one feels different.
Yeah.
You know, the one, we did not talk about this on Monday, but the one that really baffles me is Keesa is also being sent packing.
by Mata, the new manager at Juventus.
He was far and away the most popular player there last year.
They're only attacker with any real juice.
Is it salary?
I think I guess it's salary, but...
They're just so poor.
They're just so broke.
That's so broke behavior.
Oh my goodness.
Yeah.
Yeah, poor Juventus.
Poverty-stricken.
But anyway
Too close of friends with Allegory
And I just wanted to clean break
Loyalty problems
Yeah
That's good management right
You come in
You get rid of everybody who even
Offers a hint of insurrection
It's military-esque you know
Yeah if you're going to do a coup
It's like you have to do that
Kill off the top guy
But there's lots of rumors about Weston
I've heard.
Yeah.
I mean, you're questioning me, so now I'm doubting it, but I have heard rumors.
Okay, let's hear what the rumors are.
Staying in Italy, there's been Italian rumors, and there's been Premier League rumors.
Watki, you have heard these, right?
I'm not, I've not gaslit myself.
I haven't heard them in the past week.
So, yeah, you've just confirmed.
that you have heard them though.
Yes, I've heard them.
He said yes.
Yes.
There are rumors, Italy and Premier League.
I've heard Everton and in different Italian clubs.
Speaking of Ohio, FC Cincinnati, also rumored earlier this summer.
That's hard to even talk about.
That was rough.
That was a dark time in the U.S. men's national team timeline.
Yeah. It does seem like a sort of jack of all trades, you know, midfielder slash wingback
slash even fullback, you know, on occasion, there is going to be a spot for him at a Big Five team.
I do think the fact that there haven't been any rumors like the last week is, I mean, that's a little concerning to me, but who cares about me?
We need constant rumors to feed this machine.
Yeah.
So I think just going a week without them is a little unsettling for everyone.
And let's hope they pick up.
I mean, the Juventus like gossip pages talk about Milan as of like yesterday.
But who knows what they, who knows what they, how reliable they are.
I already feel better just hearing that.
Yeah, there have been talks, there have been tweets in gossip of Milan recently.
Okay.
So rest assured, rest assured, everybody, West of McKinney's name is out there in one way or another.
I say let's load up Milan.
That's not failed us before.
It's not failed us before.
Now, Gio, I don't know that yes.
Geo's definitely second and priority of should he stay or should he go.
Yeah, I don't even know if he should go, because I think it seems he's staying at Dormand.
I hope so.
That sort of peers right now, which is probably okay.
Yeah.
Because mean, Tersik has gone.
He was the problem.
The big bad wolf.
Yeah.
That could be true.
Yeah.
It's definitely good he's gone.
Yeah.
What a weird situation.
You know, takes him to the Champions League final and then gets canned.
I think it's good he's staying or appears to be staying.
Because, well, a few reasons.
At first, I really wanted Gio to go to the Olympics.
and he wasn't released.
That was the rumor.
And I was disappointed because I wanted him to go.
But because he didn't go, that means Gio got a full, healthy preseason.
Gio hasn't gotten one of those in a very long time.
So that's one huge bit of positive news.
And then two, Gio's, Gio has a new coach.
with a healthy preseason.
And we see he's already getting minutes in games.
He started.
He started the friendly against Villarreal, played 30 minutes against Aston Villa most recently.
Positive signs all around.
And correct me if I'm wrong, but did they replace Royce?
Yeah, he.
He supposedly went to Galaxy.
It was signed by the LA Galaxy, but it hasn't been announced yet.
So I think it's a little unclear what happened to Roy's.
But wherever he went, he's not at Dormant anymore.
And I think still, Rana is behind, you know, Sabitzer and Brant.
So it's not like he's going to, you know, there's no, like, clear path for him.
Oh, yeah, Gio's going to be starting this season.
He's got to buckle down.
He's got to buckle down and carve it out, you know?
Fighting for his spot is good for Gio, but a path forward is there.
I can see the light.
Okay.
Well, I think he's a, you know, obviously I think he's a great player and he eventually
he will find a spot where he plays a lot, assuming he can stay healthy.
D.F.B Pocal match this Saturday for.
Dortmund and then the Bundesliga kicks off on August 24th.
So we will see.
My last bit with Gio is if he stays, that's great because that means his parents don't get him a move.
That didn't work out too well.
So another point for Team Stay.
Yeah.
Let's limit the chaos here.
At which point I think we give them credit.
the parents for you know impacting the stay knowing their role that i think that would put
claudio in position to be the frontrunner for dad of the year probably yeah you know i agree
mark mackenzie what's going on with him um as of monday i've seen rumors that he's going to
the bundesliga which i think would be a good
great move for old Mark.
What about you guys?
I don't...
Hesitency.
Hesitency doesn't feel great.
Well, no, I don't think it's a bad move.
I just don't know what...
I don't know where Mark fits in in the future, you know, for the national team.
Well, we are leading centerbacks.
None of them were good this summer.
So I think everything is a possibility.
That's true.
Yeah, he should go to the Bundesliga.
I think Mark McKenzie is going to be around forever.
Because of his, just a feeling.
Yeah.
Strong statement.
He seems very well liked, you know, and like a good team guy.
Yeah.
I mean, I wouldn't say I'm necessarily a huge fan.
All I know is that our centerbacks weren't very good.
So if one of them is making a big move, I think that that's good to challenge yourself.
And I'll probably be tuning in.
For sure, yeah.
Well, the reason he's going to stay around forever is he's kind of lurking this whole time while being not that amazing in Belgium.
Now he's going to quietly go to Bundesliga, get a little bit better.
He's still going to be about our fourth or fifth best centerback.
But he's going to keep moving along that curve and just stay in that spot.
Okay.
For the next 10 years.
Even if he's a superstar.
Then have a Tim Rine burst at the end.
Okay.
We got like Jalen Neal coming up.
We've got Brandon Craig, all these young boys and still Mark McKinsey's right there.
I believe it.
He was on the bench, I think, for the last friendly for Gink.
but I think that has a lot more to do with the fact that they're just looking to move him than it is like a, you know, a hierarchy on the team sort of thing.
So anyway, yeah, watch out for a McKenzie move.
Tanner Testman, several moves haven't panned out.
We did, we kind of discussed this at length on Monday, but a lot of it has to do with these high agent fees.
Do we do we, what else is there to say about it?
I don't even know.
I mean, the first move was dropped because of high-agent fees.
Then he switched agencies or agent.
And then the second one also didn't work out because of high-agent fees.
I just feel like somebody has to save Tanner because I really enjoyed watching him this summer.
And that's a shame.
So nothing else to say.
I think somebody needs to save him.
He does have really powerful sports figures in his corner, you know.
So surely he's getting some good counsel.
Hopefully.
Matt Turner, you know, kind of staring on the barrel of another season on the bench at Nottingham Forest.
Yeah, Tom Bogart, Bogart said he is now third string at Nottingham Forest.
They got another goalie.
So that is awful news.
But he also reported that there is loan interest in the Bundesliga.
But Nottingham Forest is being difficult about it.
So who knows if it'll pan out.
But he's now third string.
But there is interest in loaning out Matt Turner
and Turner's very eager to.
get minutes elsewhere. It's just if they can make something work with, you know, salary and
everything. That was on Glosso America. Right. If anybody wants to watch it. Yeah,
real, you're right, though, Tara, goalkeeper are a real area of concern. Um, Luca De La Torre.
What's happening with him?
Luca, he was left off of Seltas final preseason squad, and he is not injured.
So some big questions there.
Is he on the move?
Is something up?
This is all off of our old friend Daniel Smith, a post from Daniel Smith.
Yeah.
Daniel's out.
This is Daniel's time.
He is really cooking right now.
Well, this is disconcerting because I thought Delta was his place.
I hope he sticks it out there.
If he's out of favor with the coach, outlive the coach, basically.
Put down stakes and fight it out there no matter what it takes.
One thing about Luca is he has, he's survived worse than, you know.
being left off a final preseason squad.
He dug deep and grounded out at Fulham, year after year, suffered some bad injuries,
and came out all the stronger.
So, yeah, we've got to see him winning some, eating some victory octopus again.
Yeah.
I'm a little concerned, but not too much.
We're going to take a break here and come back and debate some players who maybe should be getting a move.
It's debatable.
And then go through all the players who should not move and why.
We'll be back in a second.
All right.
The next category is, so that's people I think it would, well, Geo perhaps has the exception.
players that it seems like
should probably move
or at least there's a strong argument for
next category is sort of a room
room for debate
there's no
like it's not they should definitely shouldn't
it's not like they definitely should move
just I want to kind of argue
about it a little bit
so Malik Tillman
they're all three PSP players
Malik Tilman Richie La Desma and
Ricardo Pepe
and I think it's different reasons in each case
why you might
why one might think they need to move.
So Tillman didn't move, and I think the argument is the eridivizzi is just too easy for him.
Chris, who has the floor?
Well, I wanted to give Chris the floor, because he, at first, because he, you know,
you were talking on Monday about how, um, when Malik plays one of these not so good Dutch teams,
you know he's going to be, like, amazing out there.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah. I think I won another year of him a full year of clowning all of the other ones.
Okay.
The small teams, the medium teams, and then let's do it to some of the big teams this year.
Okay.
Just showing that proved to them he's just, he's on a Malik Tillman level that's different from the rest.
Yeah, I'm a little disappointed. I can't argue.
But I agree.
I, after our Copa run, I'm a big believer in that you have to be the guy at your team.
And he's going to be the guy at PSV this year.
And I think it's going to be awesome.
I think we're going to get a full year of him being the big shot.
And unlike last year where he was at PSV on loan, I think it's going to mean more.
because he's going to be theirs.
And I'm very excited to see it.
So I'm glad he didn't move up a level.
I think you have to be the big shot and the guy at your club.
And we're going to be able to witness that.
It would also give him a chance to build out a full superstar persona.
What you're starting to see a little hints of?
Let's let it mature a little bit.
so you're ready to move to, you know, I think England.
Tottenham.
Yeah.
Yeah.
What do you do at Abiza this year, you know, after a winning season?
It's going to be tough to top.
It's going to be tough to top.
We don't know the ceiling of this man yet.
A liaison with the owner's wife, maybe, you know.
Yeah, you guys have persuaded me.
I don't, I don't, why should he move?
That doesn't make any sense.
He should stay there.
Richie Ledesma, so, you know, in the shock of the week, he got a start.
And played right back.
I think he, I mean, you know, he's, he needs a, he needs a loan, probably.
He probably should, he probably should get alone to some other club in the,
and the Netherlands and play a lot.
Any disagreement from you guys?
No.
If I can be honest with you, Adam.
Please.
I don't.
I'm not as concerned about this as you are.
And I don't know how much it's going to affect the national team one way, the other.
And I kind of like him just kind of hanging around being in the background of team events.
Okay.
There.
I enjoy that last year.
Is that best for him?
I don't know.
But maybe.
I mean, going back to Luca for a second, he was nowhere for a long time.
And I remember sort of pitying Daniel Smith for following him so closely all those years.
So I'm modeling myself on Daniel here saying,
I'm going to care about Richie when no one else does.
And then he's going to come into a World Cup qualifier someday
and play really well for the U.S. against Panama or something.
I will have egg all over my face.
When that happens, I hope you'd really take me to task.
Okay.
I'll try to remember to do that.
I will apologize.
Ricardo Pepey, I'm starting to think maybe he should get alone for more minutes.
I desperately agree with you.
Okay.
Desperately.
I'm tired of Pepe being the bench guy.
Yeah, because we're in the position where what do we have to do, root for a Luke DeYoung injury?
I don't want to do that.
I don't want it either.
I'm a good person.
I'm not that good person.
I mean, I've been...
I can root for him and injury for him.
For younger players, I wouldn't,
but I have no problem rooting for a young injury.
Okay.
I did that last year.
I did that last year, and it never came.
It never happened.
I know, he was just, he was, he was unstoppable.
He did fantastic, and it ended up being pretty fun to watch.
But I support you rooting for an injury though, Chris.
Even though I can't do it myself, I, you know, I'm happy that you're doing it.
It'll be so happy.
Peppy needs to leave, though.
I've been watching Pepey on the bench for a long time.
Yeah.
I would like to be able to come up with a way to argue for Pepe to stay.
So I could do it all three, but I can't do it.
I guess the one argument would be it's cool having all three.
Yeah.
It is cool.
It is cool.
And if we're playing the percentages, I mean, the chances of Luke DeYoung having a completely fit 20, 24, 25 season, the way he did last season.
Not.
I wouldn't think they're that great of chances.
True.
True.
Rumor in the Discord from Jorge is, he got word, PSV, has convinced Pepe to stay and not seek alone.
Well, read the rumor again, the wording of it, is convincing.
Currently in the works of convincing.
Okay.
I don't know what that means.
Okay.
Yeah.
I just want Pepey to start playing more.
That's all.
I just editorialized the wording of the rumor to completely misrepresent the meaning of it.
All right, well, we'll see.
There's two weeks and change for all of this to change.
And then let's quickly run through the good situations where there's really not,
nothing needed to change and nothing will change.
And I want to start with Christian Pulisic.
He's really our shining light.
He will start for A.C. Milan.
Every game.
He has the respect of Rafael Leao and Samuel Chiquese.
And, you know, he's probably going to, I would assume,
he's going to put together another 15-goal season.
I mean, that's a strong assumption.
But he's going to play well.
His career has never been.
And his career has never been better.
Yeah, he's flying.
It feels very good to say.
And him and Leowl sort it out their goal celebration chemistry.
And they're probably going to combine for a lot this year.
So we're going to see some good stuff out there.
Maro Suma is doing voice exercises, I'm sure, right now.
Getting ready to do the goal calls.
Get a lot of come-on babies.
Can't wait.
I'm excited to get back into the swing of things.
I miss A.C. Mulan.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Weston's joining.
Confirmed?
I mean, for the record, I'm not sure that's a good idea for him.
I don't think they need both.
Yeah, I don't, that's not what they need.
No.
Because Eunice is, you know, he's there and that's fine.
But he's not going to start every game.
At least not at first.
And that's okay.
There's a lot of games to be played.
But really the our national team's midfield picture is not such that a top team in Europe should have two American midfielders.
No.
One is the right number given our pool.
Yeah.
Unless, you know, you want to play as if you're going to lose to Panama.
Right.
That was that was unnecessarily harsh.
It was a little, a little harsh.
But it's basically what I was saying as well.
Bowler and Balligan.
I think it's fine that he stays in Monaco.
He will get minutes.
They played Barcelona on Monday and friendly.
Yeah, he went 90.
He's going to do more than get minutes at him.
He's going to have a breakout year.
He's going to put numbers on that up on the board.
He came on a little late last year.
Struggled through some of it.
He's ready to go.
It's crazy.
He already has a 20-goal season in Liga on under his belt.
but yeah
he's been there
he's done that he's going to do it again
Tim Wea at Yuvei
unlike
Kieza and
McKenny
he seems to have persuaded the new manager
that he
deserves a spot
and that spot is on the wing
so one of the biggest
developments
of our national team right now
I think
Timway is back
I mean
forget about the summer,
Tamoya's club career is back.
Yeah.
Now, can I put up just a word of caution?
Absolutely.
Fab tweeted they're trying to bring in two new wingers.
Come on.
That's worse than a word of caution.
That's a...
Well, is he telling the truth, do you think?
I guess we don't know.
Fab?
I mean, he usually...
usually is.
Yeah.
I guess he got something he reported today about a fine art player actually fell through.
But, you know, sometimes that happens.
So, you know, we'll see what happens with Tim.
Johnny Cardoso should not move outstanding spring showing from him at Real Batisse.
And it's time for him to build on it, I think.
Any time there is a rumor that somebody wants to buy him, I roll my eyes.
I'm like, stay still, Johnny.
Yeah. Tyler Adams, he's hurt, so there's really not much chance or even possibility of a move.
And he still hasn't made an impact at Bournemouth.
Played more than five games and then we'll talk, buddy. Yeah, God love you have, but come on.
This is a year of health and wellness for him. This one's interesting. Chris Richards, he started all of the last three friendlies in the back three at Palace, just as he did. Crystal Palace, that is, just as he did.
throughout the spring
with Anderson and Gehe
that Glasner
3 at the back is really good for Chris
I think he was
somewhat disappointing for the U.S. and the Copa America
but is still probably
our highest upside centerback
and looks set to continue as a regular start
in the Premier League so definitely don't move
and also Palace may move
Anderson and Gahey this window
Anyway, so you might have to play all three centerback positions for them.
One thing I appreciate about Palace is all of their centerback rumors are always them going out, leaving, never coming in to try to replace.
Yeah.
Chris Richards.
Yeah.
Which may just be kind of what the type of team they are.
Maybe.
I think he's in a good spot.
I know Gehi is, you know, there's all kinds of rumors about.
him and some executive at Palace was like he's a superstar and if you want a superstar you got
to pay superstar money so you know he's out there playing hardball about that watching you go i want to
hear them him saying that about chris yeah in a year or two that would be nice that would be nice
watching richard's fight for his starting spot was one of the most rewarding parts of last season
for me. So I'm excited to see what he does this season.
Yeah.
Something good because we got to get those Crystal Palace guys back on to talk to you, too.
Those are some of the best episodes as a listener.
Really? Okay.
Yeah. I like him.
Yeah, I like him too.
I was just thinking about how funny it was when we brought up,
you guys are all African-Americans plus Mark.
And we told him about that and he was like,
you had no idea what to say.
He was very uncomfortable.
And the next time we liked him so much, we decided amongst ourselves we need to go visit him in London.
He made a really big impression on us.
I mean, we should do that eventually.
Jedi Robinson, I don't know, there's really nothing to say here.
You should stay at Fulham.
Stay at Craven Cottage.
Josh Sargent.
Maybe Norwich is going to be bad.
Norwich, somebody's going to correct me on that.
Maybe Norwich is going to be bad, but I don't really care.
He's the guy for them up top.
To your point about we need our guys to be the guy,
and he will very likely score a bunch of goals there this season.
So stay put, Josh.
Had you right, same situation, proven goal score for Coventry.
I see no reason to leave.
What about Cameron Carter Vickers?
To me, he's the outlier to the guy argument.
I would have liked to see him go somewhere else.
Seltic just doesn't really challenge him anymore for me,
and he's a centerback, in my opinion,
we're going to have to call on as Tim Riem floats closer to the end.
And challenging himself would have been something I would have liked to see,
but we didn't get that this year.
So another year at Seltic,
It is.
I agree with that.
Is the exception that proves the rule as the great saying goes?
Yeah.
It is a great saying.
Has its critics, but it's a great saying.
I agree.
I would say Joe Scali and Kevin Perettis are both in a position where they play, they have a spot.
They haven't really done anything that...
Sort of augurs for them to go somewhere else.
So just stay and keep improving.
You need to make some other teams want them.
Yes.
It's a key part of moving.
Yeah.
Some better teams.
Perretti's, I will say, he played really well at the Olympics.
He had a good summer.
Yeah.
And I'm definitely more Perretti's curious than I was.
three months ago.
I know that's probably really offensive to you, Chris.
You're one of his
great supporters, but
I was convinced a little bit
by how he played it.
I was too.
Not going to be doing any gatekeeping.
Anyone who wants to come on board
is welcome at any time.
But remember, I'll remember
who came on when
and how long it took, but...
But you're still welcome.
I'm still welcome, and no gatekeeping.
Okay. That's big of you.
Serginio, of course, also at PSV, he's hurt so it doesn't really matter.
There's really nothing to say.
He probably won't play until the spring.
Yeah. We'll see when he comes back, but he will come back this year.
Please, Lord, recover well.
He had a big summer too.
Did he?
Went to Paris Fashion Week and the Olympics.
He loves Paris.
I saw him at a few fashion shows.
He looked great.
Yeah, that's what's great about Paris Fashion Week.
You can go to tons of them, tons of different fashion shows.
I would have liked to go to the Olympics.
That sounds fun.
He posted on a lot of the girls' gold medal stories.
Congrats ladies.
I was like, Serge the Comrade, you know.
Yeah.
Good guy.
Love that.
That's pretty much it.
How efficient are we?
I'd say pretty efficient.
Anything else?
No.
Thanks everybody for listening.
We'll see you.
