It's time for another Correspondence Corner. Radio, up-a-dink-a-doo. We're on Time Crunch today and there's us fuck-assing around. Club singer. Let's have our first correspondence corner, shall we? Yes, this says, Hi ladies, when I was breastfeeding, my hair started falling out in massive clumps every day.
Starting point is 00:02:15 One day I mentioned it to a friend who asked if I was taking any breastfeeding vitamins. I hadn't even thought about it. With everything to manage with a new baby, I hadn't prioritized myself at all. The next day I picked up specific breastfeeding vitamins from the shop. Within a week, my hair stopped falling out and within a few months, I even noticed fine new hair sprouting everywhere.
Starting point is 00:02:34 It was a total game changer for me. And while I can't guarantee it will help everyone, I definitely recommend looking into vitamins to any other moms. Love the podcast and all you do for normalizing parenting from Joanna. Oh, don't, no minute, Joanna, you didn't even tell parenting from Joanna. Oh, don't a minute Joanna. You didn't even tell us what brand.
Starting point is 00:02:47 No, I know. I think I think there are a normal pregnancy. Precious pregnancy pregnancy and breastfeeding ones. You know, you get like the you know, the brands that you see like, you know, I think the haircare ones. Yeah, they do their own ones as well because I took stupidly. I took them when I was pregnant, but then I stopped taking them. pregnant care when I was pregnant. Yeah, that I was pregnant, but then I stopped taking them.
Starting point is 00:03:05 I took pregnant care when I was pregnant. Yeah, that kind of thing. But then I stopped taking them when the baby was born. So can you, is there an after pregnancy pregnant, pregnant care? I think pregnant care, you can take after you have the baby as well. There are breastfeeding ones, but I'm really interested to hear that they work because I, I've never taken them. I've got so much hair in my bum hole. It falls out of my never taken them. I've got so much hair in my bum hole. It's falling out. It falls out of my head so bad.
Starting point is 00:03:27 I find it like days later in my bum hole. I thought you meant your... No, no, the actual hair from my head. I think when your butthole goes into my crack. Well, it does anywhere. It just goes into your crack. Yeah, the hair goes into my crack. I've started my regrowth now that you have as well.
Starting point is 00:03:40 Mine are here. I'm honing, honing. Yeah, I've got... I'm honing, honing, honing. You've got little horns. I've got a little bit there. You've got a little fringe. Yeah, a little fringe.
Starting point is 00:03:49 Little horns for Halloween. It's really annoying. Did I tell you, my sister was like, just rock it like a short fringe. I was like, no. I can't. Get a bit of gel on there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:57 I was like, I don't think I can pull that off. I'm not cool. Just spread it out. She used to have a short hipster fringe. She's like, just had a little tiny fringe. Did she? Yeah. She's much cooler than me.
Starting point is 00:04:11 That's not hard. That sounds really cool. But no, I'm interested to hear that they work. Do you know what I'm just so shit at is taking vitamins, remembering to take pills. I'm on electrolytes. I've been taking electrolytes. Are you? Yeah. They taste like shit. Do you Are you? Yeah, they taste like shit.
Starting point is 00:04:25 Do you feel better? Yeah, I feel great. Got more energy. I don't know if I'll get these ones again because they are salty, like I'm drinking the fucking ocean. Oh no, like an oyster. And then I was like, don't understand why there's salt in them.
Starting point is 00:04:36 This is the ingredients, 1000 milligrams of sodium. Everyone messaged me like, sodium is salt. Salt, yeah. I was like, ooh. Didn't pass science. Okay. So yeah, I've been taking those and some greens. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Yeah. Feel better? Yeah. I've still got this sore throat. Yeah. At least you've all still been ill. Then you're like, what's the fucking point? Might as well have a slice of cake.
Starting point is 00:05:00 Yeah. That would make me feel great to be honest. I just can't remember to take anything. Like I have been bloody meaning to give Joseph vitamin D since the day he was born. He's two and a half. Have I fucking given him his vitamin D and his milk? Basically everyone in the UK is vitamin D deficient so you don't get enough sunshine.
Starting point is 00:05:17 So you need to be giving it to your children to have, you know, strong healthy bones, make sure that they don't get rickets. But I look at Joseph and I'm like, he's fine. I nearly said rigor mortis. It's not the same as rickets. But I look at Joseph and I'm like, he's fine. I nearly said rigor mortis. It's not the same as rickets, Christ fucking hell. I just can't- Two very different things. I can't remember everything, you know?
Starting point is 00:05:32 It's just- Too much to remember. But health is just always like, and have you started giving vitamin D yet? And I'm like, some days I don't have time for a piss. So no, Sharon, I haven't picked up my vitamin D from the pharmacy. Thank you, Sharon, for taking part in this. Touched enough.
Starting point is 00:05:48 Touched enough. But no, thank you Joanna for letting us know that they work and I should get on that. Thank you Joanna, God bless you. DM us with the brand name. Yeah, let us know which one worked for you. Yeah. And we will go and sell them out.
Starting point is 00:06:02 I will try and remember to take it. Right. We've got one from Kelly here. It says, hi, Sophie and Emma, I was listening to your Disney era episode when you asked for stories about how people found out they were pregnant, so I wanted to share mine. Please do, Kelly.
Starting point is 00:06:14 I was scheduled for surgery to remove an infected abscess under my arm. I was ready to go down to the theater when a female doctor called me into a side room. She sat down and explained gently that as a precaution, they always check women's bloods before surgery. And she told me I was two weeks pregnant. That's early. That's very early. Gosh, what a long wait for our book. Would they even come up on a pregnancy test?
Starting point is 00:06:37 Yeah, because you'd still be you'd had your miss period. Yes. Yes. Okay. I burst into tears overwhelmed with the shock and anxiety I'd already been feeling about the operation. She kindly went over the risks of general anaesthetic including the chance of miscarriage but also warned that not having the surgery could cause my abscess to turn septic. In the end, I made the tough decision to go through with the operation. Now I'm thrilled to say, oh, this is recent, that my partner and I are 20 weeks pregnant. Stop it. With a healthy baby boy who has defied the odds.
Starting point is 00:07:07 I love listening to you both keep up the amazing work. God bless you, Kelly. This is recent. I thought she was going to say like, and now I've got a 13-year-old boy. Yes. Oh, so she's weird. Oh, Kelly, you're going to have to let us know how. How it goes.
Starting point is 00:07:22 She knows she's having a boy, obviously. She knows she's having a boy. Welcome. She knows she's having a boy. Welcome to the boy. Mumboy Club. Oh, and first baby as well. Can you imagine? You know, you want to find out. Abscess removed from your armpit. You're actually pregnant.
Starting point is 00:07:34 Yeah. So it just must be so wild. Or when the people are like, I'm severely constipated. I'm going to die. I think my penises are burst. And the baby comes out. They birth the baby. Have you seen those videos? Astronomical. They always used to be in like take a break magazine. It'd be like, I didn't know I was pregnant until I had my baby in the toilet and I was like nine months. Yeah. Crazy. And they come
Starting point is 00:07:54 out 15 pounds and you're like, what the fuck were you hiding that? But you have these things where like they grow in like a weird way. So you don't really get a bump or anything. No. Bloody hell, imagine you went for a poo and then a baby came out. Wild, wouldn't it? That's basically you with Renly. That was me, I basically shut out all my organs. But at least you knew you were pregnant.
Starting point is 00:08:12 I had to clear some, yeah I did. The bump gave it away. Slight giveaway. That would also be a good story to tell your son when he's older, be like, oh I went to have a septic abscess removed. It turned out to be abating. It hadn't got septic, that's where they had to get it out.
Starting point is 00:08:25 They said it would go septic. Yeah, went for an abscess removal, had a baby. Roxanne had to have her appendix out when she was seven weeks pregnant with Eden. She got a big scar down her belly because well, they did it keyhole through her stomach, but as she got bigger, the scar, like her bump grew, but they had to talk to her about miscarriage and stuff,
Starting point is 00:08:43 but they had to get it out because she was really, really unwell. So she got appendicitis while she was pregnant? Yeah, with Eden, she was seven weeks pregnant. Wow. So she had to, and her scars got so big as she grew her belly, and then obviously she had four babies, so she now got a big scar.
Starting point is 00:08:56 From her appendix? Yeah, which was a keyhole. Wow. But Eden survived and she is blooming beautiful. That must be such an anxiety inducing thing because it's like that early stage of pregnancy is stressful enough anyway. And then they're like, by the way,
Starting point is 00:09:11 you've got to have surgery, which could increase the risk of miscarriage. I mean, how stressful. So stressful, so stressful. But God bless you. Well done on your itchy legs and your beautiful baby. Please keep us posted on how everything's going. Wishing you a very speedy next 20 weeks and healthy, happy and everything goes perfect.
Starting point is 00:09:33 Yes, yes. Thank you, Kelly. All right, I've got another one here. It says, Hi ladies. I just listened to the soft play waterfall episode. The wee through the mesh. And I had to write in Emma's story about about potty training Joseph really resonated with me. I have two boys aged three and a half and 10 months. My eldest was a breeze to potty train for daytimes. We simply took his nappy off, put pants on and he got it instantly.
Starting point is 00:09:54 But nighttime was a different story. He'd wake up with a full nappy every morning and we couldn't get rid of it. Now we're in week four of our holiday in Nepal. Ooh. Ooh. And he's been nappy free since the first week. He suddenly started waking up with dry nappies. So I made a big deal of how amazing that was
Starting point is 00:10:11 and it did the trick. I think Emma is spot on. A big change in scenery can really help. From Rachel. P.S. I'll be putting him back in a nappy for the flight home. Yes, Rachel. Loads of people were like, that's gonna confuse him so much.
Starting point is 00:10:23 And I was like, no fucking way am I doing a flight. And you've got a long flight as well from the hall with no napping. But then he might be really excited to use the toilet on the plane. No, but it's just like, you know, if during takeoff and landing, whatever, if they're like, I've really got to go now.
Starting point is 00:10:36 And you're like, no, you can't. You've got to stay in your seat. Yeah, I've obviously not been in that situation, have I? No, we were gonna do it. And then I thought, because we were only on a two and a half hour flight. Then I thought, no, fuck that. So yes, I'm gonna tell this to Stefan, a change of scenery.
Starting point is 00:10:49 It does, well, you're not fucking going away again. No. You can piss right off. But I'm saying it can be just the trick because he was annoyed with me for starting it on the first day, wasn't he? Okay, yeah. He was like, could we not have had a few days to settle into our holiday?
Starting point is 00:10:58 No, Stefan, no time like the present. No, it's time like the present. There's no time like the present. Gosh, Stefan's on a different manual to us. He operates on a different plane, honestly. I don't know. We love Stefan though. It's all jokes aside, but Stefan, he does get rid of-
Starting point is 00:11:13 It's all said with love. It's all said with love. Most of it. He does get rid of guilt, Melissa's heart. But we love Stefan. Well, I do actually. Yeah, I do actually love him. I do actually.
Starting point is 00:11:23 Speaking about them waking up with a full nappy in the morning, Joseph said to me, the day his nappy was all puffy with wee in the morning, and he pointed to his nappy and he goes, my willy is so big. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's just wee. It's just what you're really let out. Yeah. Sorry about that. Yeah. He's obsessed with his puffy nappy now in the morning. He's like, Oh, I got a big willy. Yeah. Colby was never obsessed with his willy. Renly, the moment you take his nappy off, he squeezes his willy.
Starting point is 00:11:52 So he spends the whole time in the bath just watching it. Leaks a little bit of wee out of it and he watches it and he kind of looks back at him and he does it. He's like, look what I can do. And then he spends the whole time in the bath now like this. Look at my Willy. I fed him a yogurt with his Willy out the other day. I thought, I'm gonna give him a little bit of air time,
Starting point is 00:12:09 free him. Yeah, nappy free. Yeah, nappy free time. We were on the play mat in the lounge and we fed him dinner and his yogurt with his nappy off. And he kind of took a yogurt and he was like this. Cause he just kept looking at his Willys. I can't believe I'm eating a yogurt
Starting point is 00:12:22 when my Willy's out. He loves it. All the breeze down there. Yeah. But yogurt fell on his willy and he was a bit like, Cold? Oh, that's fucking cold. And he was sort of looking at it. But this was him with the spoon. He sort of took it in his mouth.
Starting point is 00:12:37 Oh, yet your willy is still there. He's proud of it, bless him. He loves his willy, bless us all. God love him. Good for you. But thank you so much for your messages. Starting point is 00:12:51 or with Secret Mumpod on TikTok and Instagram. Before we head into the secret of the week, we just need to say, it's officially one week until the live show! Yeah! Everybody panic! Stay calm. Stay fucking calm.
Starting point is 00:13:05 This is not a drill. It's one week, one week until the live show. It's the one week countdown. One week goes so quick as well, doesn't it? Blink and you miss it. I love how you're saying this so calmly. This is both of us in this ship together. Not ship, ship.
Starting point is 00:13:21 Right, anyway. Anywhoosie. Let's get into your secret and hopefully we'll see you in a week's time. I'm so scared. I'm so scared. So Emma, what have you got for me? All right, this comes from Fiona. Hey gals, I took my toddler to a cafe and told him he could get a fancy drink as a treat.
Starting point is 00:13:37 Oh my gosh. When the waiter asked what he'd like, he proudly said vodka, please. I nearly choked on my coffee. Turns out you'd heard me joking with my husband about joking with my husband. Joking. That's what we all say. Joking with my husband about needing a vodka after a long day and now he thinks it's the ultimate fancy drink. Safe to say we stuck with apple juice. Imagine that. I love it when the bartender goes there's your vodka. I love it. This is when they go to school and they're like, fucking I had a vodka at the weekend.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Mom's just like, now everyone thinks I've got a drink problem because my child thinks that all I drink is vodka. It's when they go to school and they're like, I had a really fancy drink at the weekend. Vodka. Yeah. You what? Excuse me, miss. Miss Fiona. We've got a bone to pick with you. Little Harry will only accept vodka at lunchtime. Okay. Yeah imagine in the school dinner line. He's like, shaken, not stirred. I don't suppose you could whack an olive in there. Put a martini on the rocks. Gin martini, shaken. Dip the ice in, take it out. Like eat chilled but not too chilled.
Starting point is 00:14:52 I like it salty with an olive. Oh my gosh, I love that so much. Nuff it beats that, does it? Vodka, please. I bet he was proud as punch to be kind. Can I have a vodka please? I love calling it a fancy drink as well. I hope it was received well as well, Fiona. I hope the bartender took, like received it
Starting point is 00:15:11 really well. They obviously were in a coffee shop. So I love things like that though, where the barista plays along and maybe would bring him like a little shot glass of water and be like, there's your vodka, sir. They would love that, wouldn't they? I think any child would love that, wouldn't they? Oh, they all, I think any child would love that, wouldn't they? Oh gosh, that's made my day. I'm going to start calling it, because we, when we go to a cafe with Joseph as well, is when he's allowed to have a treat, which is usually an apple juice.
Starting point is 00:15:33 But I'm going to start calling it a fancy drink. Oh yeah, that's very nice. Do you want a fancy drink? Do you want a fancy drink? Because normally it's just water, but when we're out, you can be fancy. I love how you do that, you got to do a fancy drink. You be fancy, hey. You get a fancy drink. Let's have an apple, maybe an orange juice. Col how you do that. You've got to do it fancy. You'd be fancy.
Starting point is 00:15:45 Hey, you can have fancy. Let's have an apple, maybe an orange juice. Colby does it. Colby's partial to a mocktail. Is he? Yeah, he does love a mocktail. What does he like? He likes a passion fruit martini.
Starting point is 00:15:54 Oh, yeah. He likes a fancy drink, don't you? Down at Figaroate in Southampton. Oh, nice. Big up Figaroate. We love it down there, don't we? You have a little, you have a martini, don't you? Yeah. Oh, they make a little virgin one.
Starting point is 00:16:06 They do make a little virgin one. Very sweet. That's very sweet. Obviously mine's caked with alcohol. What's your toddler's fancy drink? Let us know.
