Starting point is 00:00:04 Wait, hold on. I need your attention because we have some huge news. It's big. Bigger than my bucket crutch. And that's big. Even bigger than Jojo's love for teenage mutant ninja turtles. Well, you've been asking for it, so we're going to be heading back on the stage for another secret mom club live show. There's going to be plenty of secrets. Perhaps a couple of party games.
Starting point is 00:00:33 And maybe a few surprise guests. So mark your calendar. because on the 20th of May, we'll be live at Bush Hall in London for one girly night only, so you better buckle up, bitches. Tickets are on sale right now, so head to our socials for more info and the link to buy tickets. We can't wait to see you there. Now, back to the episode. This is The Secret Mum Club.
Starting point is 00:01:01 I'm Safina and I'm Emma. And welcome to a super special extra episode. Yes, it's the run-up to Mother's Day, so we've partnered up with Hotel Chocolat to bring you an extra sweet moment of Calm to your week. I'm so excited! Shall we jump on here? Shall we? Another year, another Mother's Day.
Starting point is 00:01:24 It's mad how quick it goes. Isn't it? Isn't it? What are you doing this year? Nothing. We talk about this every year, don't know. Although I celebrate it, I don't really. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:34 It's like the day where you want to be celebrated for doing nothing. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? You don't want to make the kids do something for you, but you also want to feel a little bit appreciated. But then I love to feel appreciated every day. We should appreciate moms every day. We should.
Starting point is 00:01:49 We should. And we do celebrate them here. Yes. But in their lives they should be celebrated. Yes. Yeah. But no, just a very calm, calm, chill day. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:58 I'd go for pyjamas if I could all day. Yeah. And just chill, a bit of colouring, maybe bake a cake, something just real. Holesome. Holesome. Yeah. That wouldn't be calm. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:11 Not with kids. What about you? You can do anything? I see your mum? No, I don't think I am seeing her, although she will expect me to do something. So I'll, you know, have to send her something. I'll have to send her something. I want to do it, obviously. Mum, if you're listening. I... Sorry, Nick. With pleasure. It's all those years of growing up and like being expected to do it. This is what we were saying. Because my mum was like, you should appreciate me. And now I'm like, yes, we should.
Starting point is 00:02:39 Yes. Mums work bloody hard. But no, I will, I'll be getting her something. And then for me, again, I don't expect anything, but I probably will get a bunch of flowers from Stefan slash the kids. Yeah. Because they're too young to go out and... I just love me a handmade card. Like I'm just happy with a handmade card. A handmade card. They'll just scribble all over it, which I love. Because they can't write their own names yet.
Starting point is 00:03:01 No. It's just too cute for me. That's just adorable. I know. Yes. And then I'll just be happy if someone brings me a cup of tea, honestly, and I get five minutes to sit down. Would you like me to bring you one? Would that be weird? Happy Mother's Day! That's how low my... In bed.
Starting point is 00:03:15 Yeah. Yeah, if I could have a lion and by a lion, I mean, get up at 7.30. Wow. That would be a tree. That's big. And if I can just have a moment in the day to just sit down with a drink on the sofa and just have five minutes to myself without someone saying, mommy, I need something. Or mother say the word mum is banned. Yeah. Mum, mommy, no one can say it. Yeah. But you know, that's why I got round that by calling my mum by her own name. Is it? So they'll just be like, Safina. So I know you don't like big plans, but what would your perfect day look like if your children forced you to celebrate it? Forced me. Forced me, forced me. Probably I'd love a pajama day, but then they're quite frequent on our house anyway. So that's every day. That's every day. Every day. I don't know because I just feel like I'm not really one to plan something. Like if it was Daddy's Day, if it was any other day, birthdays, anniversaries, any other celebrations, any other celebration, I'll go whole hulk But when it comes to me I'm like just scoot past me
Starting point is 00:04:17 Just scoot past So a normal day for me A mother's day would just like a normal day for me Just with everyone around Just everybody Everybody that I love Everybody's happy, smiling You're more likely to choose a day with your children
Starting point is 00:04:30 And I'm more likely to choose a day without As long as everybody's happy And we're all together Even if we couldn't be together You know there's going to be a time when they get older And we can't be together I just don't want to ever feel like I set an expectation for them to have to be.
Starting point is 00:04:45 Or make a big fuss. No. Because we, I'm very, very lucky. They're both very, very, very, I say both because Reners is too small at the moment. And Chris, they all appreciate me every day. So I feel blessed every single day, really. Talk to me about your velvitiser. Oh, I just, there's so much love.
Starting point is 00:05:03 There's so much love for her in our house. She's a dream. For her. She's a her. Because we've got a boy and a girl. Oh, have you? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:09 We've got the older model of our velvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv. Which only makes hot drinks and then you've got the one that makes the hot and cold. Yes. She's a lady because she multitasked. That wasn't even me. That was the children that actually decided that. Smart kids. So we've got Viv and Vinny.
Starting point is 00:05:26 I didn't want to say that. I thought it might be weird if we name them, but we have named them. Yeah. Viv and Vinny. Because that's part of you, you were saying it's part of your daily life. It's every day. It's almost part of the family. It literally is.
Starting point is 00:05:36 And it's the best part of the day is when everybody's had a bath, everybody's relaxed, Everyone's chilled. Homework's done. Dinner's done. Everyone's calm when we've put the movie on. That's our moment to just sit and have something just so like comforting. It's so soothing. Everyone in your family has something.
Starting point is 00:05:52 Yeah, we all have our faith. Speaking of velvitizers, as we now know, Viv and Vinnie, in my house anyway, Hotel Chocolat have sent us our very own barista today. I'm so excited. Hello, barista. Hi, barista team. And it's also we can do. a taste test of their drinking chocolate flavours all made with a velvitiser.
Starting point is 00:06:16 Can't wait. So before we get into it, what is your go-to flavour at home? I'm mint. Whether that's mint and white chocolate or mint and milk chocolate, I'm a minty gal. I really, really love the mint. To the point where I won't actually look at anything else. You're loyal. Give me all the mint ones.
Starting point is 00:06:34 I adore them so much. I do love a mint flavour. I love an orange flavour. My go-to is salted caramel in that. the hot one. Chris is a big fan of the coffees. He really loves all the coffee. Yeah, all the coffee.
Starting point is 00:06:45 The hazelnut latte. The maca lattes. He loves all of them. I've not tried that. Do you know what I've got a home that I'm dying to try is one of the like liqueur bottles as I've got like white chocolate. Making pour it. That's a right moment that is. I know I'm waiting for that right moment to treat myself.
Starting point is 00:07:01 Maybe Mother's Day is the one. Maybe Mother's Day. That will take you into your little calm moment to relax and chill. Do it. I'll give you the green light. Thanks, honey. Right, Emma, I can't wait anymore. Shall we bring on the taste test?
Starting point is 00:07:15 Yes. Bring on the taste. Bring on the drinks. Oh my goodness. Thank you so much. We are so excited. Thank you. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:07:26 Okay, we'll do it this way around, okay? Do you want me to taste test mine first? You taste test yours. So the little, the sachets. Sashies are down, face down. They're face down and we're going to guess what flavor we've got. So I think I've got the one in the hot glass. Yours is hot in the white, clear as it's cold.
Starting point is 00:07:40 cold in the clear glass. Okay, do you want to go first? Yes. Okay. Do you want me to try this one first? Yeah. And then we'll try each other's. We'll have, because I want to try it all.
Starting point is 00:07:48 What are you getting? Do you know what it is? Do you have an idea? Because you're such a pro. Yes, I think I do know. But I'll let you. Do you want me to taste it first? Yeah, taste it first and tell me what you're getting.
Starting point is 00:08:00 Heaven. I've never had the cold one. So creamy. So smooth. Taste it. I feel like you're going to know. I'm getting nuts. Are you?
Starting point is 00:08:09 Yeah, am I getting nuts? Am I getting praline? Caramel. Creamy. Crem? Cremme. Bruley? That one I feel like was an easy one.
Starting point is 00:08:23 Oh, that's amazing. Too join me to reveal it. Ready, in three, two, one. Yay! It's cremelea. You are bound to know that. Also, fun fact, when you do get these, because they do come in a multi-pack,
Starting point is 00:08:34 the purple ones, it indicates on the outside which ones are hot and which ones are cold. Oh, that's handy. Because they're different inside the sachets. So the cold ones are granulated, whereas the hot ones are the flakes. So you need the heat to melt the flakes. Yeah. You taste test this one first then.
Starting point is 00:08:47 Okay. And I'll wait on your lead. Okay, ready? I'm excited. It looks quite dark in colour. Sniff it. What are you getting? Raspberrys?
Starting point is 00:08:56 Are you? Berries? I don't know. I feel like I'm not great. I haven't got great nose. Sniffing. Okay. Tell me what you think about that.
Starting point is 00:09:05 Okay. I'm getting... You're getting frills. I'm getting Black Forest Gatto. Tell me if you agree. Cherry, I would say. Yes, cherry, sorry, yeah. That is absolutely, I'm going again, sorry.
Starting point is 00:09:19 Are you getting Black Forest? Yeah. That's lovely, isn't it? Yes. That's delicious. So nice. Shall I reveal? Yeah, go on.
Starting point is 00:09:25 Okay, ready? Shall I keep this? No. You want to drink the rest? I'll share it with you. Yes. Oh, brahma. See, look.
Starting point is 00:09:33 Hot ones are white, purple ones are cold, and they say cold. Drinking chocolate. Oh, and hot. I'm not drinking chocolate. So when you're going through your multi-selection box, I know far too much about these. It's actually concerned. So it's got a degree in velvitizers.
Starting point is 00:09:46 I love the glass for the cold one as well, the clear glass. Was this my side for the creme brule? I'm going to drink a bit more. It doesn't really matter. Take a click. There's one side that's not been taken there. What one would you pick out of them? Would you have gone for this one or go for the creme brulee?
Starting point is 00:10:01 What's your favourite out of these two? Tough decision, but I'd go for the Black Forest. Gatto. Would you? Yeah. Yeah. Chris's favourite is the Crembrilet though. The cold one.
Starting point is 00:10:09 Yes. Yeah. No, stunning. I love both of those. Absolutely delicious. Are we ready for the next one? Yes, we are ready. Inserting our beautiful barista of the day for round two of our drinks.
Starting point is 00:10:20 Bring them in. Let's go, honey. Right. Thank you so much. Bless you. Thank you, my darling. Should I go cold first this time? Go on then.
Starting point is 00:10:30 You go cold first. Okay. Ready? This is a really exciting day. Isn't it? I'm so excited. I mean, there's no denying what this is. Is there not?
Starting point is 00:10:38 I feel like it's so obvious. Is it? Yeah. Emma's just drinking it now. Yeah. I mean, that was given a good froth. Give that a sniff.
Starting point is 00:10:46 It's got a great head on it. Give that a sniff and tell me you don't know what it is straight away. Come on. Come on, honey. And you're a minty gal as well. I'm a minty gal. It's obviously. It's obviously.
Starting point is 00:10:59 It's a mint chocolate. No, hold on. Let me just. Oh, sorry. Go on. Sorry. Rewing it. Yum.
Starting point is 00:11:05 I just hits so good. I know. I've got a bit of residue on my lips. You've got a tack. So delicious. That's the mint, right? That's the milk mint. Yeah, the mint.
Starting point is 00:11:14 Have you had the cold mint before? Yes. One of your faves. Yes. They're all my favour. Give him all. It's just so delicious. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:22 There's just nothing to beets it. That one feels really kind of refreshing, uplifting. It does feel very refreshing. Especially on the hotter days as well. That would be lovely. I've never had a cold mint before. It's a nice combo. Oh, well, there you go.
Starting point is 00:11:35 So first for you. Do you want to reveal our little... Oh, yes, sorry. I mean, I think we probably know. I know, but we've got to. It's a mint. It's mint. And the colour is purple.
Starting point is 00:11:46 Yeah, because it's a cold. But I feel like these are a slight giveaway because the back of the packet is green. So I kind of did think... I'm going to debunk you, though. I did think that was going to be a mint. I'm going to debunk you. Okay, creme brulee is caramel coloured.
Starting point is 00:11:58 I know, but they're not all the same colour. And the black forest... We're just showing each other are... The black florist, which was a bit of a clue. Flores. You're a florist. I am. You're flourishing, honey.
Starting point is 00:12:09 I think I've had too much drinking chocolate. It was cherry colours, that was a bit of a giveaway. So let's try it. Do you want me to tell you this before I drink it? The hot one. Do you know it already? You know all the baggie. I'm sorry. You're spiling my phone.
Starting point is 00:12:20 This is my favour of all faith. We should just say the one in the hot. I feel like you need to experience this first. You go first, please. No, please. Let me insist. We should say the drink inside the hot cup this time is white in colour. I feel giddy.
Starting point is 00:12:36 Praline, am I getting? I'm going to just keep saying that until it's right. I feel like you're just saying that with everyone. Praline? I'm just getting nutty. No fruit? Are you getting any fruit? Oh. Oh. Is that coconut? Is that coconut? Please tell me. I think that's my favourite so far.
Starting point is 00:12:55 I know. Why are we so predictable? We're just one person. I'm not. Smell it. Are you getting anything? I know what it is. Oh, okay. Fine. Honestly, you wait to try this one. This is absolutely 20 out of 10. Please reveal it.
Starting point is 00:13:12 Reveal yourself. Reveal. Sashay, reveal yourself. Coconut white. Yeah, I got that straight away. Show the room. Oh, that one's stunning. So stunning.
Starting point is 00:13:22 That's my favourite so far. Honestly, there's just nothing. But I feel like every time I have one, I'm like, yes, this one is my favorite. Yeah, you try another one. You're like, no. This one's my favorite. Honestly, this one's my favorite. But I do love that it comes in a variety box.
Starting point is 00:13:34 Yes. Because some days you're in the mood for something. different and there is such a massive variety that you can choose from like there's even chili yeah there's chili chocolate there's so many different ones and I just feel like it's going to just get you in the mood just choose whatever suits your mood because I wouldn't have thought I would have gone for the white ones I normally go for the dark chocolate darker chocolate ones yeah I really love that yeah the babies love white they don't they don't they I bet they do the babies tend to love white chocolate a little bit more so I'm a white chocolate gallery but I love that's not even I
Starting point is 00:14:03 I would think it would be too sweet, but it's not. No. So pick between the two if you had to pick one. I feel like it's a silly question. I did love the cold mint as well, but yeah, my tears. This is just really great for the hotter days. Yeah, refreshing. Yeah, really, really refreshing.
Starting point is 00:14:16 And I think sometimes people would think, you can't find a drinking chocolate that's actually refreshing. But honestly, that is so refreshing, isn't it? And it's not even like it's heavy. It's so light and so easy to drink. So smooth. I love that. I love that.
Starting point is 00:14:32 Is that your favorite then? No, the chocolate white. Chocolate white or mint white is my favourite. Yeah. Yeah. Coconut white was my favourite there. Yes. Loved it.
Starting point is 00:14:40 Delicioso. Are you ready for our last and final? Yeah. Last and final round. Let's go. For our taste test. Let's go. Bring them in, please.
Starting point is 00:14:48 Oh, bring them in the barista. Oh my goodness. Thank you so much. Thank you, darling. Thanks. Do you want to go cold again this time? What, cold first? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:59 Okay. Give it a little sniff. I mean, again, I feel like that. I mean, again, I feel like, the packaging, the colour of the packaging might be giving something away. But go on. You're just trying to get off of the packaging. You're cheating, aren't you? I'm competitive. You're doing it with your eyes first. You should close your eyes. We should have blindfolded you. This should have been a blind taste test. You should have been a blind taste test.
Starting point is 00:15:16 Because I'm competitive with myself. This smells. I want to get it right. Fruity. Okay. Do you think you've had this one before? Yes. What's stupid question? Who are you kidding? I've had them all. Right, I'm going in. Okay. Go for it. It's delicious. What are you thinking? Let me have a go. Tell me what it smells like. What are you getting? Yeah, I mean, without looking at the orange package yet, I'm going to say orange. She's just so, you can't play any games with Emma because she just wants to be the one to win all the time.
Starting point is 00:15:44 Yes. Oh, yes. Oh, yes. Oh, yeah. What's it given? It's giving me Christmas. Do you know what? I was literally about to say, how scary is that?
Starting point is 00:15:52 It's giving Christmas, isn't it? Because I feel like that time of the year you would have this type. But it's like Christmas flavours, but in a refreshing cold drinking chocolate. You just wouldn't think it would work. It's a combination that you're not expecting, but it just works. Just given. Do you want to reveal yourself? Do you want me to reveal it?
Starting point is 00:16:09 Packaging. Packaging. Packaging, reveal yourself. Mandarin and orange. Mandarine and orange. Although I would have gone out orange and mandarin. I don't even know why. It's delicious.
Starting point is 00:16:20 That's alphabetical. It's giving citrus, isn't it? Yeah. Love that one. It's given refreshing. Yeah. It's given wonderful. It's just something you'd never think to have cold.
Starting point is 00:16:27 No. But it actually works. Yeah. Beautifully. Like I've had a hot orange drinking chocolate before but that's blown my mind. Blown your mind, hasn't it? You're going to go first on the next, are you?
Starting point is 00:16:37 Shall I? Okay. You go first. Give it a sniff. You know what I'm going to say? Shall I, can I move this? I've already seen it. You're just cheating. Do you know what I'm going to say about this?
Starting point is 00:16:47 What have I said about every single thing so far? It's giving nutty. It smells like praying. It smells like praying. It's giving nutty. It's giving praline. All I can smell is nuts. And a little hint of fruit.
Starting point is 00:16:56 Mmm. She's also cheated and looked at the colour of the package. Oh, yeah. Yeah, that is a slight giveaway. It is. Let me guess. You've had this one before. Actually, that could have been an array of different berries.
Starting point is 00:17:05 It could be, yeah, but I am getting berry. You're getting a berry. I'm getting berries and I'm getting nuts. Oh, it just smells so... And you know what? You know, there's people that say you shouldn't sniff it first, but I feel like you can take a lot in through the nose. You can, yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:19 I mean, I obviously can't because everything smells like praline, but most people can... This whole taste test. Tell a lot with their nose. Right, I'm going in. Okay. Praline and... Rasp up the belly.
Starting point is 00:17:31 It's raspberry. Yes. Reve yourself packaging. Beautiful, isn't it? I really love that one. Yeah, that's nice. It's Raspberry Praely. Yes, it is.
Starting point is 00:17:39 I told you I'd be right on the Praalene at some point. Yeah, you've gone through the whole taste test. Is there preline in this? Oh, not this one. Is there Praline in this? Beautiful, aren't they? Yeah. Right, so out of the six then, what are you rating?
Starting point is 00:17:52 Your number one. Oh, should we do it out of these two first? Okay, sorry, yeah, I jumped. Jump ship. It's a hard one, actually. These two are both level pegging for me, I think. Are they? But I think the raspberry preline slightly has the edge.
Starting point is 00:18:04 I'm going to say the orange. Are you? Oh, we're so... It's very wholesome. It's really nostalgic for me, like a chocolate. The chocolatey orange flavour. Yeah, nice. It's really nostalgic.
Starting point is 00:18:14 I really love it. Yeah. I'd go the orange. And out of all six of them... Mint. Out of these ones, though, I'd go for the white, the coconut white. Yeah, you just love the white ones, I think, don't you? Yeah, yeah, we didn't even need to do a taste test with you.
Starting point is 00:18:28 We knew it was going to be something... Even the mint white or the coconut. coconut wine. I'm thinking that there's been a late surge here from Raspberry Praline, but I think I'm also going to go for the coconut wine. Are you? Yeah. And I've surprised myself. Wow. I wouldn't have put you down for that one, girl. We're more similar than we think, you know. Well, I feel like I've definitely got some new flavours to add to my velveteriser rotation. Obviously, having drinking chocolate from the velveterizer is pretty perfect bit of me time. Yes, but we asked you,
Starting point is 00:18:58 what other little moments of Me time get you through the day. Megan said being able to turn off Pepper Pig and watch the TV I want after bedtime, hard relate. I tend to watch it when the children go to bed. It's when you've just left it playing and you're like hours later, you're like, why am I still watching? I need to be up on the episode, just so I know what to talk about. What's coming? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:19 I actually don't hate a bit of Pepper Pig. I don't mind it, you know. I find it quite relaxing. I find it quite relaxing. Yeah. But it is nice when you can finally be like, okay. Switch off. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:27 Let's watch something I want to watch. No, I agree. Sophie says she likes having a lavender bath. Oh, that sounds lovely, doesn't it? That does sound lovely. I never take the time to have a bath because I'm just like, it will take up too much time. I need to shower and get on to the next thing. But actually, I used to really love a bath, but I feel like at the moment it just takes up to, I haven't got time.
Starting point is 00:19:43 You don't fit it in. But I think actually sometimes it's nice to like slow down and just take a moment and be like, actually, do you know what? I'm just going to chill. I am going to sit in the bath for half an hour. Why not? I lock the door so no one can come in. Yeah. I'll wait till they're in bed.
Starting point is 00:19:56 Yeah. Otherwise I'll be getting in there with me. Yes. Lou, so she likes to lock the toilet door and sit on her phone on the loo in peace. Told you. See? Lock the loo door? You've got to keep them out.
Starting point is 00:20:07 And you're away. Yeah. Honestly, that's a dream. I think that's what Stefan does to get most of his free time is he goes for a poo. And that just means sitting upstairs on your phone. Locking the loo? Yeah. No one can get in.
Starting point is 00:20:20 Yeah. And I'm like, are you well? You've been 45 minutes. Are you ill? Oh my God. You're sick. I know. I need to do that a bit.
Starting point is 00:20:28 more. I'm like, I'm the pro of like a five second we because I'm always like I must be out of the bathroom as quickly as possible. I can't leave them on their own. But actually, I'm going to luxuriate in a, in a poo. I'm the pro for three, three minute shower. Chris goes crazy because he's like, I don't know how you do it so quick. Yeah. I just get in scrub wash, shave my legs, armpits. Yeah, this is it. We're used to not taking enough time for ourselves and maybe you luxurating in that shower. Luxurating in that poo. I don't think about, I don't want to sit in my own wafting of my home.
Starting point is 00:20:56 I don't want to sit in the aroma of my own poo. Maybe do the poo and then just take five minutes to scroll through you. Sit on the bed. Yeah. And then when I'm in the bath, I get too hot and then I panic and then the washer machine needs to. No, I can't relax. No.
Starting point is 00:21:09 I'm not in the point of life where I can relax. No. No, it's not for you. No. Maybe a drive. Yeah, nice drive. Yeah. Yeah. Really get far away from them.
Starting point is 00:21:21 Then it's maybe a bit of road. range and then you're back to square. Exactly. I've been five hours because someone just keeps cutting me up. Hannah likes to do Pilates once a week to de-stress. Oh, that's a good one. I would like to do Pilates. I'd like to do Reforma Pilates, but I feel like I'd be more stressed at the cost of Pilates. Yeah. Because the reformer Pilates is expensive. It's so expensive. I don't think I'd enjoy the class because of how much I need to pay to get in the door. Yeah. I love a Reformer Pilates class. and I've been looking for it at one local to me because I think it's such a good workout
Starting point is 00:21:55 but I would be thinking this is £5 a minute like it'd be stressing me out I think it's going to add more stress to me and then I did go through the face of like can I get one from ALDI? Did you see when? Get your own one? Yeah, get my own one. I thought
Starting point is 00:22:08 I'm not watching YouTube videos to be doing that because I'm going to be. I need instructions. Like I'm not even that well versed in it and it's like when you go to a class and they're like clip one on blue and one on yellow and one on red and then get on one leg
Starting point is 00:22:21 I'm like, this is too. This is hard. This is hard. It's a lot of brain power. But good for you, Hannah. Yeah, I love that. I do watch, though. I'm really, I love watching people's real form of Pilate videos. Oh, do you?
Starting point is 00:22:31 Yeah, on social media. I watch everybody doing them. You just watch them while you're sitting on the sofa. Yeah. Drinking my, drinking chocolate. Hotel Chocola, yeah. All right, Kathy's favourite me time is having a nap or listening to the pod. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:22:43 That's my girl. I hope it's our pod. Yeah. And listening to any other podcast but yours. Well, if you mean us, thank you. Thank you. But if you don't, if you don't, get out. Savage.
Starting point is 00:22:58 Yeah. Ebony watches a true crime series in bed with snacks. Ebony, I feel like we were separated at birth. This is my go-to. I love it. Chris says, why do you like to watch things when they scare you? Yeah. Just like I can be prepared.
Starting point is 00:23:13 It's funny how relaxing we find true crime, isn't it? Yeah. And really it should be quite stressful. It should be really stressful. Actually, it really puts me to sleep. It's quite comforting. Yeah. Weirdly.
Starting point is 00:23:24 Weirdly comforted. Do you have snacks in bed? No, no, no. We're not that part in the new house yet where we have snacks. No. I don't allow. Kitchen only. I'm not even ventured to the lounge.
Starting point is 00:23:35 No, no, just the kitchen. Yeah, I don't allow snacks upstairs, but good for you. Good for you. I feel like Ebony's an adult though. It may be responsible with her snacks. Yeah. The children on the other hand, they're quite wild with their snacks. No, they can't be trusted.
Starting point is 00:23:49 I love that for them. Yeah, no, you've got it made, Ebony. All right, Steph says she opts for a walk in the outdoors, which is a good one always. And similarly, Gemma says she likes a walk too, but around a supermarket for a little retail therapy. Retail therapy? Retail therapy.
Starting point is 00:24:03 You went really calm, then you failed. A little bit of retail therapy. I love walking around the shops. Yeah, I do too. It's the whole day out for me. Yeah. I equally love walking to the shops, walking around the shops, and then walking home.
Starting point is 00:24:14 Yeah. Really double whammy that one. Or going into the shops, walking around, not buying anything. and then leaving. Yes. Yeah. Is that a bit cheeky? No.
Starting point is 00:24:23 No. It's wonderful. Yeah. Don't they call that window shopping? Is that window? Stefan's always like, you can't go to a shop and not buy anything.
Starting point is 00:24:29 I'm like, yeah, you can. Of course you can. What if they don't have what you need? Yeah, but he's... Can't just buy something for the sake of it. He's also weird. Why did you come home with this third clothing horse?
Starting point is 00:24:38 I'm going to leave the shop without it. Yeah. He's like, I've got to buy something. He also doesn't believe in returns though. And I'm like, you literally are allowed to return things. You are allowed to return them. That's crazy. Yeah. Another Gemma gets some me time when the house is empty by blasting some tunes and dancing.
Starting point is 00:24:54 Oh, yes. Your own little dance party. This is definitely our girl gang. This is a crew and a half. I think that's great, but like I can't think of anything worse when I've got the house to myself than loud noise. I just want to bathe in the silence. I can't think of anything worse in silence. Oh, no. I love it when I walk in the door and I'm like, there's nothing going on. There's no sound. Does the stillness not really? Is the quiet for me is so loud? No. I've got to put some music. on and keep, keep moving, keep dancing. No, I think that's fun though. I do. I wish that was me, but no, I like to wallow in the silence.
Starting point is 00:25:26 And lastly, we've got one here that says, FaceTiming my sister for an hour, and that's from Roxanne. That's me. That's my sister. That generally is my sister. I FaceTime her so much. Are you one of those people that's just on FaceTime all the time? To Roxanne.
Starting point is 00:25:39 Even if you're not doing anything interesting, you're just always on FaceTime. Just living your life. Yeah, every day. Every day we're on the FaceTime. on the FaceTime. And you see each other in real life as well. It's not even like you live far away. No, that's so funny.
Starting point is 00:25:51 FaceTime all the time. Imagine this was just another Roxanne talking about her sister. And it wasn't you. Sorry, I'm going to say it's my Roxanne. We're just assuming it is. But all Roxanne's phone their little sisters. Yeah. Little sisters phone their Roxanne.
Starting point is 00:26:02 All Roxanne's are good big sisters. Yes, they are. That's what we're saying. Thank you for sending in your MeTime activities. Honestly, these moments matter so much. Absolutely. Whether it's an hour long walk or five minutes, with a drink you don't have to share.
Starting point is 00:26:18 And if you're still thinking about what to get for Mother's Day, Hotel Chocolat really does nail that feeling of this is just for you. So head to their socials for some inspiration. And we'll be back first thing on Tuesday. And we'll have more of your messages on our next Thursday episode. And we'll see you next time on the Secret Mum Club.
