Hello, this is The Secret Mum Club.
I'm Safina.
And I'm Emma.
And welcome to your, what episode is this?
I'm trying to do without the script.
I was trying to do it with no script because this is now on YouTube.
Woo!
But we can't do it without script because he still don't know it.
Still I've lodged in my fucking brain, but I'll happily recite 8 Mile by Eminem.
Yeah.
But, you know, this podcast is a safe space for mums everywhere.
A safe space to share our secrets.
Because we all have secrets, don't we?
We do, and as we know, sharing is caring.
You don't even need to tell us who you are.
You can keep that to yourself, you can be anonymous.
And all those secrets can be serious or serious.
Yeah.
All those secrets can be serious or silly.
All secrets are welcome in there.
Secret mumgla!
We need to vote.
Everybody needs to comment below.
Do we prefer this set up?
Oh, we're in a different studio today?
We're actually recorded on a Tuesday, not a Wednesday,
because Emma tomorrow is at Nativity.
Yeah, at Joseph's Christmas show,
but we also had a cancelled one,
so we had to reschedule everything, do you know me?
I've had a mental couple of weeks, guys.
It's been chaotic, so I had to cancel last week.
Yeah.
To move it to this week.
Emma so kindly picked up the fort today.
Yeah.
Because I can't get my shit together.
And you came in today.
Bottom line is, we're in a new studio.
We're in a new studio and we're actually really loving it.
We're loving this set up here.
Rosie's here.
She looks like she's in our front room.
It's cutie buttootzi.
I wish you could see it.
We've got a bring it on poster, S Club 7, Spice Girls.
It's like a 90s bedroom, isn't it?
Anywhoe, how's your week been, Emma?
Oh, we do me first.
So I've had a last show on the radio, so that's over.
Way!
I'm only earning about a fifth of the money that I used to.
I really need you guys more than ever.
Yeah, so I finished that,
and that means that I'm like fully back in Welsh Wales now
because we moved and then I've hardly been there.
Chris has been so desperate to know how your commute is from Cardiff.
to London. I'm desperate to know. Well, our next record will be the first one
of like my new life where I just commute on a Wednesday and I go there and back in one
day. So we'll see how that is because one of the last Sunday that I came up had an absolute
nightmare. Fucking nightmare. I was coming up on a Sunday night for work early on a Monday morning,
got to Cardiff Central Station, all trains were cancelled. Oh shit. There'd been a fire somewhere.
I'm like, I really don't have. Well, I hope 2026 doesn't mean your face is removed.
I really don't have another option. So I was like, well, I hope I can make it to work tomorrow.
And you just have to wait until the next train comes
And then that train's really busy
Because everyone else is trying to get on that train
Then I got on that train
I was like finally on a train to London
I'm going to be there really late
But it's going to be fine
I'll just be tired tomorrow
Got to Redding
And they were like
This train's gonna have to terminate here
Oh fuck
There's nothing more stressful
When they tell you off the train
Off you go
Off you go
Left your own devices
So what do I do now
Wait for the next train
I had to find another train to London
Oh gosh
And then you get to Paddington
And then I'd get from Paddington
To my friend's house
Where I was staying
So I think I got in at about half 10 at night
Fuck me.
I know.
And then the logistics and everything
has just been a total, yeah, a total nightmare.
Anyway, first of all problems.
I mean, shut up, what am I complaining about?
It's been really nice.
It's a safe space for us to share everything.
I know.
I've hardly seen my kids, so I can't tell you.
I can't tell you about them.
The day was Joseph's Christmas show.
I know, you were watching a video of him earlier.
You're like, don't tell me you've missed it.
Don't worry.
She's going tomorrow.
There's an encore tomorrow.
I thought, God, you've chose me over Jojo.
Never.
I'm flattered, but fuck.
No.
No, but it's been a big deal.
building up to this because he's been
like... Him and are in? He's settling
into a new school. We've thrown a lot at him. There's
a lot going on and he's been playing up
a little bit and I think it's a combination of
like me being away. Stefan was away
then I was away so they've had no
consistency. They haven't really had a time when both
of us have been there. And
I do feel for Stefan even though
like I'm usually the person that looks after
the kids I think he has had
a particularly like hard
time of it like they're both trying to settle
into like new school, new nursery
new house new house there's just a lot of change that we've had a bit of travel because there's been some family stuff going on so they've been in the car a lot they've been falling asleep somewhere in the car and waking up somewhere new like they're just we're throwing a lot at them and in the middle of all this he had his Christmas show coming up yeah where he did I tell you he was playing a camel yes they gave him like the camel outfit which was absolutely more like a horse with like a couple of like humps on it but stunning whatever um and he was like oh I'm not sure that I'm going to do it and the teacher was like look he hasn't wanted to do it in the rehearsals it's just the
kind of child he is, but I also think he's quite shy at his musical.
He hasn't really, like, found his place yet.
So they were like, we've got a chair at the side of the stage.
If he doesn't want to, like, participate.
He can sit.
But he can just sit and, like, feel like he's part of it and, like, he won't be left out.
That's very sweet.
Great.
But leading up to it, we've been trying to say, like, what songs are you singing?
Like, can you tell us any of them?
Or, you know, just, like, softly, softly trying to get him to, like, talk about it.
But he'll be really cagey.
He'll be like, I don't know.
I don't know any of them.
And then every now and then in the car,
he'll come out with like a bit of a song
and I'll be like, oh, is that what you're singing
in your Christmas show?
And he'll like do it.
But it's all on his terms.
If you ask him, he won't do it.
But sometimes you'll catch him and you'll be like,
oh, he is like he is taking it all in.
But we weren't sure whether he was going to do it.
And he was like, no, I'm not going to.
He's just like quite a contrary little boy.
So he wants to be like, I'm not going to do,
I'm not going to do what people ask me.
Yeah.
He's a bit like that.
A bit like me.
So like you're giving him the control.
So we weren't.
Yeah.
Yeah, exactly.
But I haven't wanted to bombard him
and be like, you must sit on stage and do this.
I'm just like, oh, whatever it is.
Like, it'll be great to be part of it.
So Stefan has just sent me a video this morning
because Stefan went to see the first sitting of the show today.
And he's like fully doing it all.
Stop it. Is he in the outfit?
He's in the outfit.
Fuck, Jojo.
He's sat up by the stage.
He's singing, dancing.
Emma, this is really huge.
It's massive.
I didn't think he was going to do it at all.
And I was like, I really want to see him be like involved
and like having a good time.
Tomorrow is going to be like, fuck you, mum.
I bet, yeah.
When I'm there, it'd be like, you haven't fucking been here for two weeks.
Now you think you're going to turn up to my Christmas show
and I'm going to do it up.
No, I'd literally be so Jojo if he did.
So Joseph.
Fuck you, bitch.
I'll show you.
If he did it for Stefan and not me.
Wow.
Wow.
What a message.
I really hope I get to see it tomorrow.
But even if I just have those videos that Stefan has said me,
that has made my month.
Like, I just, I didn't think he was going to do it.
And I'm so, I'm so glad he's doing it.
I know.
I feel a really proud auntie.
He brought a tear to my eye.
God bless his little heart.
I know.
So maybe he's going to be all right after all.
I think he's going to,
I think he's going to really flourish.
Do you?
Yeah, I really, really do.
I think so as well.
I think it's just, it's going to take a bit of getting used to,
but I really think he was ready.
I think he was so ready for like a school setting.
Yeah.
To be with kids his own age.
I think you're right.
I do think it'll be great.
And every now and then he'll be like,
he'll tell us a name of someone that he's learned at school.
Oh, yes.
And he'll be like, oh, I met a boy called this today or whatever.
And I'm like, oh good, that means he's like taking an interest and getting to know people.
His granddad picked him up from school the other day and he said that on the way home,
he pointed at someone out of the car window and he was like, oh, that's my friend.
Oh.
And I was like, oh, he is like.
He's got friends.
He's doing it.
He's doing it.
So, yeah, I'm pleased because we've been a bit worried about him.
It is.
And again, though, we put this pressure on ourselves, don't we?
I know.
And sometimes we are so stressed about it that we over worry and then they're actually fine.
Yeah.
But I feel like you care.
You worry because you care.
Yeah, I just want him to be happy.
I think he will be.
And I think he's still so young that he's adaptable and he'll be fine.
And we had Sadie's settling in report from nursery because I think she's been there a month, maybe three weeks.
And they said she's doing really well as well.
So that was nice because she was sad at first going in without Jojo.
Joseph, yeah, because this is a big thing.
We've now separated them.
So they were in the nursery together.
They were before.
And now they're flying solos.
Yeah.
Even the days that Joseph's there, they're not in the same room.
So, but they said she's settling in great and, like, she, they send us pictures and she looks
really happy.
So she's napping great there.
She's eating well.
Don't do any of it at home.
But at least she's doing it for them at nursery.
Exactly.
So, yeah, so we've had a good week.
So I'm looking forward to, like, finding your feet.
Being at home and, like, having a routine and settling into, I mean, I'd say that I'll
probably grow resentful about it in a week and be like, well, you know, I'm really hard
actually.
I'm really fucking.
Being the parent that works away is much easier.
I might just be like, oh, I've got some more work.
I'll come up last minute again.
Yeah, the podcast getting really demanding, actually.
I'm going to have to...
Listeners are up.
Can I have to go away every week for a week.
No.
I'm looking forward to being back and just like settling into a bit more of a routine.
We've been in a bit of a state of flux, you know?
And now you can kind of settle down, ready for the cribbo.
It's a good time of year.
Because we've only got now a couple of episodes, haven't we, before we break up for Christmas.
Yeah.
And then we've got some time off.
So hopefully you'll be able to settle into a nice little routine.
Yeah, it's a nice time of year.
What are you doing for Christmas this year?
Staying in Wales.
Yeah.
We go to Stefan's sister for dinner.
And then we're going to do New Year at my mum and dad.
But I'm panicking when I'm going to put on my treat.
I haven't got a free weekend for Christmas.
Right, you're going to come and do your train.
Is yours up?
Yeah.
Oh, I need to get on it.
To be fair, I went really simple this year because I wasn't prepared to do the bubbles.
Renly, when I tell you, that boy is so obsessed with footballs and kicking anything that is round.
Like when I'm talking orange apple, he'll kick it, full on pelt it in my back door.
And it smashes an apple into a million pieces.
And I said, I'll be fucked if you think I'm going to go
and fill up all my wonderful Disney balls that we've collected
like with the other two for years and years and years.
And I'm going to put them on that tree for them to be smashed within three minutes.
I don't think so.
So I went with a tree this year that's got a bit of fake snow on it.
Yeah.
Is it a fake tree?
One massive bow.
Oh, nice.
Gigormous fuck off bow.
Right at the top.
So it's a fake tree.
How tall?
Yeah, show me a picture.
We've gone six foot.
Okay.
I could have gone seven.
I went safe.
Have you got lights on it?
Pre-lip, pre-lid, pre-snowed.
Got it for £70 from B&M.
Wow.
And I just bought the, bow was £18.
I got a tree for less than £100, ready to go.
And you can reuse it every year.
Every year, honestly.
And I want to start doing a fake tree now, but Stefan won't have it.
He wants a real tree every year.
I just can't, I can't dispose of it.
Can't dispose of a fake.
Oh, you ready for the tree reveal?
Yeah.
Here's my tree.
Oh, beautiful.
Isn't she a beaut?
Isn't she a babe?
Yeah, you had the room to go a foot taller.
I did have the room.
but I played it safe.
Yeah, lovely.
And I wasn't prepared to do bubbles, no.
When did you put that up?
What date?
Was it November?
Yeah, November...
Maybe, oh, that will have the date on it when I put it up.
A couple of weeks ago?
Yeah.
Get that baby right up.
That was on November 22nd.
Okay, so like a month before Christmas.
Yes, yeah.
Yeah.
But mine comes down, done it, Boxing Day.
Yeah, you're one of those.
You're like Stefan's sister.
She goes really early, and then the day after Christmas,
she's like, fuck this, get everything out of that.
People get very, very angry about that.
but I don't see the need.
New year is the beginning.
New year, new me.
No, but you're supposed to keep it up for like,
what's the Advent thing?
12 days after Christmas.
Yeah.
No.
Like to just get it up, get it going.
Sees the opportunity.
This one might stay up, you know.
Yeah?
Might stay up.
It's very, I'm loving the lighting in the lounge.
So cozy.
Do you know, whenever I put my tree up,
I'm like, why don't we just have fairy lights all year?
Yeah.
Because they make you feel so cozy, don't know.
And then you get about five days past Christmas,
you're like, if I had to look at a fucking tree,
it makes you feel so cluttered though
I love it now
but once then they've got presents
and they're playing with new toys and stuff in the house
I get over stimulated
I can't handle it I'm like oh
get everything down I need to clean it all
but yeah we're up
you've had a big week
we're erected
we're erected
I've had a huge week
I'm just glad it's over
in the nicest way possible
I said this on my TikTok this morning
I'm not glad that it's over that I didn't want to do it
but I'm glad I don't have to retain
that secret anymore
It was too much.
We have officially done Cissy's birthday.
She's officially 40 and I surprised them all with parties.
I'm so gas.
You're going to say what it was?
I went to Paris.
Oh, I thought he said parties.
Parties!
Pardis!
It was a bit more than a party.
Told my sister, so everybody, we had a few hiccups on route,
i.e. Southwestern Rail was delayed.
So that delayed the journey was a little bit stressful.
And then my sister was also.
So we left at 12th.
My sister left it four, my brother left at nine
because we all had commitments.
Roxanne was waiting for Eden to finish college.
Well, I say Eden to finish.
She knew she was going to London.
Sorry, I should say that.
So I said to her, we're going up to London.
You need to pack some warm clothes,
but you need to pack for a couple of days.
So assuming she'd just be like, oh, we're staying in London,
which I was like, yes.
So I was like, we're going to go up for London.
Just come when you're ready.
So she was like, I'm going to wait for Eden to finish college.
I was like, oh, that's absolutely fine.
But I'd already pre-planned.
So I said to her, just go for two days.
something warm because I'd already bought her two outfits
so I bought a brand new pair of pyjamas that we had matching
then I bought her two new comfy
sort of nice track suits
to keep her warm, bought her new woolly hat
got her some bits and bobs so I already knew that I'd covered her
so she knew that didn't know we were staying longer than we did
so we went up and I'd said to her in the morning
we need to be up early because we're going back to St. Pancras
so she knew the time so forth got to St. Pancras
obviously then we said we're going to Paris
but my sister bless her heart
one is really bad at not having
any control over any plans
so she was obviously very nervous
so when I told her I was like we're going to
Paris to see the Eiffel Tower
because I didn't want to because we had massive Disney
lovers and I didn't want her to make that
I didn't want her to think oh we're going to Disney
and Paris and then I'd be really gassed
that we're going to see Mickey
and I was like got the Eiffel Tower
so she was like a bless her
obviously it's so much going on not only is it her birthday it was a surprise she didn't know what
she was doing and everyone was there the whole family all of us were there everybody was there
everybody was there everyone was on time like my brother was there his wife james roxan the children
me richie no that's my brother me chris and the babies we were all there so i was like we're
going to see the eye full tower and i think it was five o'clock in the morning she she was like
yay because obviously it was also on her bucket this to make it sound like my sister
was being up really ungrateful.
She wasn't at all in the slightest,
but it was just so much for her to process.
So then when obviously we got on the Euro Star,
I did us a little upgrade.
So we had some pastries on the, on the Euro Star going over.
Obviously, we did a little trend on the train to say we're going to Paris.
And then we got there.
We had this beautiful apartment that all of us were staying in.
You're all staying together?
We all stayed in one apartment.
We had a little Eiffel Tower view.
Honestly, I really did blow my own socks off.
Because I got there and I was like, fuck me.
This is even better than I thought.
Honestly, I couldn't stop smiling.
I was having the best time in my life.
Oh my God, amazing.
Then the next day, unfortunately, Renli got really sick.
So we had to stay in.
So I said to my sister, just go out and explore.
Have a wonderful day.
So obviously we got a little bit of exploring there on the Friday,
but it was hoonying with rain.
Was it?
But I think everyone was so excited to be there.
Yeah.
The rain didn't know.
The rain didn't stop us.
And then obviously we got back.
Everyone was really tired.
so we kind of all went to bed really early on the Friday
and then everyone woke up
Redney was really ill so I was like everyone just go out
and enjoy the day and we're if me and Renner's can pick up
we'll pick up but it's fine you know
and like obviously on the Saturday evening when she come back
and everything sort of wine like settled in
she was like I really wanted to do Paris
and she was like I don't want you to think I was ungrateful
because I was just really tired it was a lot to process
and I was like oh I know she's my sister I know better than you know anybody
and she was like this I thought I would love it
and I'd be like, oh, Paris is done.
But she was like, I'm utterly in love.
Like, I'm having the most incredible time.
For me, that was it done.
I was like, I can go home now.
Yeah.
My job here is done.
Did she make you cry?
I was emotional.
Yeah, I was really emotional.
And obviously, my niece, one of my nieces wants to do fashion when she's older.
So, like, to see all of the children in Paris and to see the Eiffel Tower, the Art de Triomp.
Oh, my God.
I bet they couldn't believe it.
The Notre Dame.
Obviously, being there with my brother and his wife as well.
They left on the Sunday.
So it's a little bit go, go, go.
We were trying to cram in as much as we could.
So they left us a Sunday afternoon.
And then the weather on Sunday,
I felt so awful for my brother and his wife.
So the weather was out.
Oh, the sun was out.
It was glorious.
Even though I'm too many of us.
Even I had my coat off at one point.
It was an absolute.
No, but honestly, it was, I'm just glad.
I feel so lighter.
Do you feel relieved?
I'm heavy from the croissants and all the pastries.
But I'm lighter in, metaphorically.
I can't believe I did it.
I can't believe.
You held on to the same.
secret and also just the planning of it like I think when you're in charge of that many people
just the relief of knowing that like it went all right to have so I had not only everybody's so I
had to what not had to sorry I chose to book the apartment so I basically just said to my brother
and James here's all the details this is what I found this is what we're doing blah blah blah
so I had to take everyone's passports put all their numbers into the euro star I then had to
give all the passport numbers over to the accommodation had everyone's euro star taking
I then had to book the hotel in London
to make sure everyone was together
the rooms were closer
so the babies could be really excited
to see each other on the first night
so it was a big build-up
obviously everyone was arriving at different times
wanted to make sure my sister had money
on the room because they were arriving late
so I was like I don't want us to have to not have a dinner
when she arrived
so I was trying to think of every step
of like going through everything
but I got back yesterday
and Chris was like I have to say
that was incredible
yeah and even Chris was emotional
I was so tired
but you'll never bloody believe it
got back, did three loads of washing last night
three loads of washing
unpack the suitcases
put them back upstairs
managed to sort the baby's rooms out
before I left
put their advent calendars out
so they were ecstatic
they got back to do their advent calendars
but no we honestly
I did miss them
or not waking up to the babies this morning
yeah all of them
so so sweet
like even Renner's like with all of them
was he okay
what's wrong with him
he just come down
just wasn't eating
wasn't really drinking
was a little bit emotional but obviously as well he's in a completely different country and
I just it was I think it just was a lot for him was a lot for him to process and like being on
the train and stuff but they were good as gold they were so good on the train and and all
of that but it did it was some funny fucking shit happened so what one night my sister come out
and she was near on pissing her pants because the babies had all gone in and like chosen
their rooms and dotty and everly which I would say the babies but obviously renters is the baby
but Dotty and Everly chose to be in a room together.
Honestly, when I tell you this apartment,
I don't think you'll believe it.
It was never ending.
So we went through the door,
there was two bedrooms on top of the lounge.
You went through like the little kitchen area.
Then there was a toilet and a shower
and you went through another corridor.
There was one bedroom, one bedroom,
another two bathrooms,
come back out, back along the corridor
through the dining room that sat 16 people.
Oh my God.
Is it like central Paris?
How did you find this?
We were near the art.
We were near the Art of Triumph.
We were literally like a five-minute walk.
For 13 people?
13 people.
It slept 16.
It was astronomical.
You've got to go with you.
Oh, God.
Honestly, it was insane.
So you went down the corridor into what was my sister's bedroom that had a big bath in it.
Oh, she had like one of these freestanding baths.
I love a bath in the room.
Oh, love a bath in the room.
Then out of there into the next bedroom, that was where Amy and Ritchie were.
There was another bathroom.
Truly was never-ending.
So, Dottie, I was near the front door because I was panicking.
One Rennies, I didn't want him,
Ryan and keeping everybody awake.
Plus, I didn't want the babies to go near the front door.
So me, Chris and Brenners were in one room and then Eden, we were closed by the front door
because Eden doesn't sleep very great.
So they were like the far back corner, right?
So I couldn't hear or anything.
So my sister was the closest.
Everly had a nightmare.
So my sister went up to 10 for Everly and then said to Evely, why don't you go and get
into bed with Dad and I'll get into the bed with Dom.
So in the morning, Doddy woke up.
I bought me and my sister matching pajamas, right?
My sister woke up and Dotty went,
Are you my mum or my auntie?
And Roxanne was like,
Are you my child or my niece?
What's going on here?
Just so much funny stuff happened.
Dotty found Jesus.
What?
Fuck me.
I've never died so much.
Like literally found him.
Like I'm all, I support anybody with religion,
so I hope there's never,
I don't want anyone to take any offence to this.
So obviously, we didn't go out on the Saturday.
So Chris was updated to me with like pictures.
as to where they were going.
And then they started saying about Dotty had found Jesus.
And I was like, oh, you know, it's a little bit early.
But, you know, she wants to learn about it.
You know, she wants to have faith.
That's, you know, entirely up there.
I'm fully here supporting it.
So they were like in this group chat of like,
Dotty has baptized Jesus three times in a puddle.
And I was like, I had no clue what was going on this whole WhatsApp chat.
Was just everyone talking about how Dotty had found Jesus.
She'd risked her life on a balcony.
but Jesus was with her.
It was honestly the most men to listen.
And then Dotty come bound him through the door of the apartment.
She was like, Mom, you're never going to believe it.
I found Jesus.
I can't wait to show my friends.
I was like, all right.
And it kind of just went on and then she'd just come out of nowhere, Ryan,
I need to show him why, Jesus.
What is it?
It's a tiny Jesus.
So she was putting him in puddles
She basically found him on a bridge
Picked him up
She was putting him in puzzles
He was at the Notre Dame
He was at the Art of Triomphe
He was at the Eiffel Tower
Just is really tiny
Tiny Jesus
She goes to me this morning
Before she went to school
I'm going to let them know
That I found Jesus
She literally found him
She literally found Jesus
And there he was
So when I tell you
There is so much
That I could share
But it was just, I don't think my face, I felt like I had faceache the whole time.
Obviously, I don't get to see James very much.
And Richie and Amy, I see them, but I never forget to see them together because they're, they're off-see in the world and they've got friends everywhere.
So just to have everybody together was a really emotional time.
So not only was it Roxanne's birthday, we were all together.
Richie's had a really, obviously, really, really hard year.
My brother-in-law works insane amount of hours.
So it was just even that alone was insanely.
It's a miracle that you managed to get everyone all together at the same time.
I just don't know how I, I don't know how I did it.
Is that a huge one to pull off?
Roxanne may have wanted a trip to Paris for her bucket list.
Mine was to arrange a family event.
Everyone arrived there and back safely.
Yeah.
I accomplished it.
You should be very proud of yourself.
I won't lie.
I have cried a little bit about it.
Yeah.
I have cried because there's, you know, I would have never ever in my lifetime ever thought I would
be able to, oh God, I'm even going to cry about it.
No, no.
I know what a lovely thing to do for your family.
And I've worked really hard.
And I'm really proud of myself
that it's something I would,
I feel really, really honoured
that I have been able to give them all.
We might never ever get to do it again.
You've done it now.
We might never ever, yeah.
So, no.
I bet they loved it.
It's been an emotional week.
Highs and lows.
There's obviously not what comes with anything.
It says being all together,
there were some times where we were like,
right, everyone just needs to relax.
The children will bickering a little bit.
I was like, right, we've still got two days to go, guys.
Let's not argue on day one.
Yeah.
Rain it in.
It is. But no.
Well done for pulling it off. I'm absolutely beaming.
I'm happy for you. Yeah. And if I never
get to do it again, if that's the only one shot
I got to do it, I'm really proud of myself. Yeah. Good.
You've got memories now. Obviously, I'm super
lucky to have all of them, so
but yeah, there we go.
But I've been an absolute wet flannel.
So Emma and I really want to hear from you.
We want you to join us in the Secret Mum Club. You're all welcome.

We are all well into the winter now,
the dark mornings, the frosty school runs,
and everyone is already in full Christmas shopping mode.
It's the time of the year where you really want to know your cars in good health
because no one needs a breakdown when you've got children in the back
and three places to be before lunchtime.
That's why I love that QuickFit are offering a free vehicle safety check this winter.
It's quick, easy and genuinely gives you that peace of mind
that the family's safe before the really cold winter hits.
And it's got me thinking,
some of my favourite memories ever have happened on family road trips,
especially around Christmas.
The chaos, the snacks, the singing, the, are we there yet?
It's all a part of the magic, isn't it?
I love a family road trip.
It's such a great way to bond with the kids
and discover new places as hectic as they can be sometimes.
Some of my favourite memories are, honestly, road trips.
Even when I was a child, the games, the service stops.
I spy.
Oh, honestly.
Red Laurie, yellow, Laurie.
You can actually do a service stop and find out what's at every service is.
I love a service station.
Even now, I love doing it with the children.
I think on the ones on the M4, know us personally now.
I can't get enough of them.
Honestly, nothing brings you more joy where you get to the next services and you're like,
oh, there's this here.
So much fun.
Looking at all the sites.
The babies also love to take pictures.
Oh, do they?
Like when we're going along and they take pictures.
Yeah, we love a bit of a drive past Stonehenge.
I don't know about you as well, but like the music from family road trips when I was younger.
That's the stuff now that's like, it's so in my mind and it's like shaped my music taste
because we would have been in the car for hours, like, listening to Oasis.
I remember that being on like a Now album and it was like a long journey to Wales or something.
Mine was the you can't always get what you want.
My mum and dad you sing that.
Now, as it growing up, I think, oh, maybe they were trying to tell.
me something. But it's getting into like your comfy position, isn't it? When you cross your
legs, get your pillow in, play some cards. I love it. Honestly, it's one of my favourite memories
growing up. Yes. Now I'm reliving it with the children. Obviously, we spent a lot of time
in the car because we travelled back and forth to Birmingham when we were children up to see
the gladiators. Oh, yes. And my mum and dad used to drive us to Birmingham and back. Honestly,
used to love it. You used to look forward to the weekend when we used to get in the car,
go on the road trip, straight to Birmingham. Hours it took. Hours. It took. Hours.
car games, we were there in minutes in my head.
We obviously spent ages driving back and forth to Wales,
which we still do now. It's a journey that's very familiar to me.
So now you're just reliving it.
So now I'm reliving it with my kids.
You're out sweets in the car.
It's always like a little bit of a treat, wasn't it?
Like a break from the normal routine.
I feel like I need to add it into now life.
Obviously, I went to Birmingham in the car loads when I was little,
but obviously you have no reason to travel there now.
So now we're just taking them in the car, drive wherever we can.
I'm not a flyer, I'm a driver.
I was going to say, because you don't fly.
You could drive anywhere.
I'm ready to drive to Scotland.
Get me going, I say.
So guys, getting that winter car check done with QuickFit
means we can keep having those brilliant adventures
and making all those memories.
It's not just another job on the list.
It's a little act of care
that makes sure you and your family
get to enjoy more of those safe, joy-filled journeys together.
So don't put it off,
book your free vehicle safety check with QuickFit
and keep those family road trips rolling smoothly.
Drive away happy every time.
It's time for the Correspondence Corner.
Jesus is with us.
So Emma, let's hear our Correspondence Corner, please.
Okay, this one says,
Hello, Sof and Emma.
I wanted to share a little story about my mum and stepdad's wedding day,
especially with Sof, talking about keeping things low-key.
At the time, they'd been together for two years,
and we were a blended family of six.
On the morning of the wedding, we were woken up as if it were a normal school day.
They called us into their room,
told us we were all having the day off,
and asked what we wanted to do.
We were suggesting trampoline parks and go-karting
when they suddenly said,
why don't we go and get married?
This is right up my street.
We were stunned.
They'd already organised everything.
Mum had her dress,
my stepdad had his suit,
and the outfits we thought were for my sister's 18th
were actually for the wedding.
We all got ready together,
drove to the registry office
and had a lovely meal afterwards.
It was just us, my grand,
and my stepdad's sister,
simple and perfect.
Because we're a blended family,
not only did they exchange rings,
but we did too.
Oh, my stepdad gave rings to the girls
And my mum gave them to the boys
Keep doing what you're doing
Thank you, Adele from Scotland
Oh my God, that is fucking adorable
Right, do you think you could arrange it for me?
Yeah
I'll give you all the names
How beautiful
How nice!
That is honestly perfection
Also, what better present can you be told
Than as a child
You don't have to go to school today
Yeah, that's the best thing
I told the babies as well
Because obviously I didn't tell the children
So I got to Thursday
And they were like, oh
what should we do today
oh no we were getting up from ready for school
and Chris did the breakfast and he was like oh
what do you want to do today and they were like oh
we've got school and Chris was like oh do you fancy going to
London so obviously we didn't tell them
but that's the best thing to tell them there's a day off
but I just think right there's so much with weddings
is that you have so many people there
that likelihood is you don't one don't see them again
or you fall out of friends with them and I just think
having your family that intimacy
on your wedding photos
that's top dog for me
I do yeah I do kind of like
Not that I begrudge anyone
Having a big wedding
I said go for it
But I just really love the idea of just
I can see you doing something like that
Yeah
Just my little fan
The registry office part of my wedding
Was actually like one of my favourite bits
Like we were like oh just go and do the signing
Whatever like it won't mean anything
Like the big wedding's gonna be like
The big event
Like we'll just kind of
It's almost like just get this bit out of the way
kind of thing
And then when we did it
I was like
This is actually beautiful
It felt way more meaningful
Than I thought it was going to
Yeah
I liked it
I think I'd go winch too, Winchester Cathedral.
Oh, yeah, beautiful.
Stunners.
But Adele, that is tremendous.
That's given me full hope that if we do decide to tie the knot rather than just depole.
Yeah, you can still do like a nice intimate thing.
Yeah, that sounds lovely.
That's filled my heart with so much joy.
I won't lie to you.
It's delicious.
1010, highly recommend.
So you can get in touch with us on anything at all.
Yeah, it can be serious or silly, and you can be totally anonymous.
Because between us, we've probably heard it all before.
And remember, we're all in this together and we know that we are, we're all stars and we see that.
Fun fact, Dottie started watching high school musical.
Yes.
Elite.
She's watching it.
Yeah, you did say to her, do you think Zach Efron's pretty?
She was like, oh, no, not really.
Pretty?
Yeah, because I was like, oh, do you think he's quite cute, pretty, pretty boy?
Joseph's got this thing where he's always like, girls are pretty and boys are smart.
And I'm like, no.
No, no, no, no.
Excuse me.
No, no, no.
You might be right in my case, but no.
Not in every other case.
I said, do you think he's pretty, pretty looking boy?
She went, ew, no.
Oh, I was like, oh, okay, sorry about that.
Sorry, Zach Efron.
Sorry, Zach.
Right, are you ready?
Yeah.
Obviously, don't want to bore you with more Paris, but...
I thought that was going to be the secret.
No, what?
Then we went to Paris?
Yeah.
Do you know what I thought I should have done for the episode that went out today.
My secret should have been, we went to Paris.
Yeah.
Mr. Trick there, didn't I?
What a silly sausage.
We didn't know.
By then, you'd already...
By the time you're listening to this episode, I would have been to Parry.
Yeah.
That would have been a great secret.
Yeah.
We missed a trick there, Maz.
She'll be listening.
But in Paris, are you ready?
Yeah.
And you know we love a poo on the pod.
If you don't like poo, this isn't the pod for you.
I, um, so we're obviously in a restaurant trying to sit.
So once my brother had left, we had 13, but then Amy speaks a little bit of French.
Oh, does she?
So we were doing wonderful.
Tribon.
Her dad lives in France now, but she grew up in, in,
France so she knows a little bit of French so with Amy I felt very comfortable because I was like
what if I'm struggling I just kept looking at Amy like yeah but let me tell you something as well
because there is so much negativity on my social media now that I'm back from Paris about people's
experience in Paris and I feel really sad like I feel really sad about that people are so negative
about somewhere that's just so I bet everyone was saying Parisians are rude beautiful yeah like
I but two times I've been
now and there hasn't been one time
that I've had anybody that's been rude
we were so blessed
with the most amazing people
the most amazing service they are so
fucking accommodating and so
lovely with the children if we'd walked into
a restaurant in the UK
and gone got a table for 13 they would have gone
fuck off yeah fuck off you think we're
fucking serving 13 no fucking sorry
fully booked you can see all the tables
just don't want to take us all in
but they not one question they were
so accommodating move table
bought out colouring, kept coming and interacting with the children, honestly.
I find that when you're in Europe, like waiters and stuff like that are so much more engaged
with children.
Yes.
Like the kids get so much attention.
Whenever we take them on holiday, like the staff love it.
Yes.
Maybe they're just being paid.
Honestly, second time I've been and we obviously ate out, we ate like lunch and then we ate
dinner and they were just so, so accommodating.
Honestly, I've not had, got no bad words to say.
It was wonderful.
So we went in this restaurant and
Richie and Amy had gone home by this point
So it was 11 of us
And we walked in
They went to sit us downstairs
I didn't realise that outside
You can smoke
In the
What is the closed off little area?
It's like a pagola
Is it a pagola?
Like a canopy kind of thing.
But they look like they've got sides
Terrace
There we go
So they can still smoke in there
So Roxanne said oh
Do you want to sit inside
Because there's people can smoke in here
And I said to the guy
Oh I'm really sorry
I didn't realize you can smoke
in here do you have room inside and he was like yeah yeah no problem walked upstairs what looked
like a christmas party they were having like a christmas party we sat us all down was wonderful
got a high chair for rennley without me even asking didn't even ask for the high chair got the
high chair within two seconds the rest of the restaurant had gone so we'd had the whole upstairs to
ourselves you know when you're like the christmas party were like fuck this was it us but they
were the guy I said to the guy was did we make everyone leave and he was just like oh no no they
were just finishing. So that was really sweet. So obviously we're trying to get over Renner's.
He'd had some Cal Poe and stuff. So finally took a poo on Sunday because he hadn't poohed since
we'd left Thursday. So I was like, gosh, Renner's had a poo. Krista, don't panic. I'll go and do
the toilet. So the guy come over and he was like, we were saying to him, is there a baby change?
At one point, I nearly went, do you want to sniff his bump? Poop, poo poo? And he was just like,
and he was so sweet. So he was like, it's downstairs. Chris goes, don't worry. You
stay and chill I'll take him downstairs well next thing I got a call from Chris he said come to the
bathroom immediately I was like uh okay and I just like put the phone down Roxam's like it's everything
okay I was like Chris has called me to the bathroom seems really dodgy also how am I going to
explain to the waiter that I need to go into the room that Chris has already gone in with the baby
so I went downstairs and I was like oh the baby change and he was like oh yes it's there and he was
like you there's someone in there and I was like I know it's my partner my child and he's like
no no there's someone in there and I was like yeah I need to get in there so while I'm talking to him
I'm knocking the door so I open the door Chris was like open the door really slow I was like okay
so I like the man was stood here so I kind of was like thank you yeah like crept in the door
shut the door right behind me like this turn around to Chris there is shit
It's up Chris's arms
It's in the back of Renley's hair
It's up his back
Renny's just stood naked covered in shit
It's on the floor
It's on his trainers
I was like
You have been in here
Two fucking seconds
What the fuck?
I thought we were trying to make me relax
This is too much
I said what the fuck has gone in he's like
I don't know what happened
It all happened so fast and so quick
I just really need you to help me
He's holding Renley with pooey hands
Renny's got pooy hands.
Oh, no.
Right, just fucking stay still.
So I'm not only baby wiping Chris down,
baby wiping the baby who's covered in goose pimples
because he's freezing cold.
It's poo and his socks.
I was just like, what the fuck?
So we had to bin the baby grow.
I used the baby grow to try and scoop up some of the shit.
With it runny?
No, it's a hard poo.
I was like, I don't know what's going on.
Why, there's so much shit everywhere.
The thing is, because he hadn't had to poo for three days.
So I had to wipe Renli down.
Wipe Chris down and just stay in the fucking corner and don't touch anything.
I'm like this on the floor with the fucking wet wiped, the baby grope, bagged it all up, put it into the bin.
I honestly was sweating.
Did you have fair clothes?
Sweating my fucking tits off.
No, I didn't.
I had a snow suit.
So I put the trousers back on and the jumper back on.
Luckily, they had no poo on them.
Went back up to the stairs.
Chris took Renly up the stairs.
Chris was bright red, like not only embarrassed, he was sweating.
He had sweat dropping down his face, right?
I had to shut that bathroom door, run up those stairs.
Literally the whole table was just staring out.
And Roxanne went, what the fuck has just happened?
It looked dodgy as hell.
We were sweaty, we were red, we were hot.
We just walked out of a bathroom together with our child.
Dodgy as hell.
And then I come up the stairs, Roxanne went,
what has happened?
I was like, you don't want to know.
I got to the table next my precept.
We're never talking about it.
Roger said, we just had a really...
Massive shit stormed downstairs.
There was shit everywhere.
I've had to bag the clothes,
put them in the bin down there.
I'm just praying.
They saw us go in there.
I don't want them to come in.
Talk to me about shit.
I don't know if there's shit still in there.
I was like, eating my dinner.
Every time someone got up the stairs,
I was like, fuck.
I'm going to get in trouble.
He's going to ask me about the poo.
What the fuck happened in there?
I don't even know.
Did you leave a trace in there?
Do you think you covered it pretty well?
I think I cleared it all up.
Renley and Chris were just stood in the corner like this.
Rennley was like, what the fuck is going.
I baby wiped his hair out
He had like a mohawk at the back
Because he had shit in his hair
He was probably like what guys
I just don't know
What?
I just don't know what happened
We like sat down
And I was like oh
And we were staying out late as well
On the Sunday because we were going to see
The lights of the Eiffel Tower
So we wanted to see it at nighttime
And but it rained
This was on Sunday
This was the Sunday
So it rained so much
Friday and Saturday
Sunday was sunny
It was a really clear evening
So then I was like
Everybody can go out
We didn't remember from
last time that the bus, day bus, that you can get the 24-hour hop-on hop-off service was, it's only
until 5.30. Then you take the night bus at like 8.30 or something like that. So we'd obviously
sat down, had food this side, needed to get on the bus to get back to the Eiffel Tower, not realizing
that the bus was no longer running because we'd missed the time slot. So we decided that it was
only an hour walk. And only an hour's walk. 12 minutes in, we had to flag down some cab.
So we got there, right, got there
The secrets will continue
We got there
Got everyone in position
Because from 5pm up until midnight
It flashes
Right at this truck
It didn't flash
No
The lights were out the whole time
You're joking
So we got the lit up tower
But we had no
We had no sparkle
I was like
This has ruined the trip
I stink of poo
You went all that way
And it didn't even light up
Oh my gosh
But we got some night time
We got some night time photos
Of the babies
Yeah
We just didn't get the sparkle
So never mind
It was a very
crazy situation
Do you know sometimes
you have those days
but you're just like
Why do I want to bother?
Thank God it was in Paris
Because if it was at home
I would not have fucking done it
You'll be able to show your face again
I'd also don't know what
What?
What? I owed her of my brain
that I thought I could walk an hour
in Paris
with a toddler in a pram
who just shit himself
The children were shattered
We'd already walk around the whole
We'd been out since 8.30 in the morning
fucking hell it was wild
So there you go
I get the metro
Whatever it's called there
No I don't know if I'm ready to prepare the metro
Plus we had the pram
And I didn't want to lift it up and down the stairs
Plus I don't you do hear horror stories
Don't you have like picket pockets and stuff
Plus it's so beautiful
I feel like if I won the metro
I don't want to miss anything
We spend a whole of Sunday on the bus
My sister's like this is the best thing ever
We went around two and a half hours
And then we went back on it again
To then stop on
Like a normal bus
It's a rooftop
A tourist bus with no roof.
So we did the two and a half hours round
and then we went back round again and got off at stops.
It was delightful.
Well, you'll never be able to show your face in Paris again.
Oh, well, I'm coming again, guys.
What can I say?
3.0 is coming.
I still, second time I've been and I still haven't done everything.
You just can't see enough of it.
You can't see enough of the Eiffel Tower.
You can get so many angles from so many different places.
I want to go again because Stefan took me when I was 21 for a surprise.
You need to go with the babies.
But we did it on such a budget there.
because we didn't have any money.
So now I feel like we could do it a bit better
and take the kids.
Do you know what, right?
The Eurostar is expensive
because we didn't fly.
But obviously you can get flights
and it's really quick and cheap
if you're happy to fly.
Sorry, I should say cheaper.
Accommodation.
I didn't really find it to be too unreasonable.
So we've been three times,
but obviously the first time we went,
we did two days, went to Disney
and then come back for two days, didn't we?
And we stayed in two different places.
And then this time we've stayed somewhere different.
But the price of the accommodation, I think, is quite reasonable
and where everything is kind of centred around a big circle.
And then when you're there, you just walk and everything is so close.
The Art de Triomp is really close.
The Eiffel Tower, obviously the bus is a little bit pricey,
but you get it for 24 hours.
So if you were to buy it at 12 o'clock, it would last to 12 o'clock the next day.
So you'd get that whole time back.
But no, I found it quite really.
not too expensive
the food was quite reasonably priced
and I think you can still do it
obviously it's still a cost
but you know relatively cheap
yeah but there you go
that was my secret
that was the biggest shit storm I've ever had in my whole
entire life and in another country
you kind of think they'd be over it by now
they're nearly too I know
I know I know so we're going to get into some of yours
after this short break
We've got three secrets we're going to be discussing with you this week
from you that we will be discussing this week
Emma take it away
With you and from you
With you and from you
Together in harmony
With us from you
Hey girls
With you from us
Yeah what Emma said
Thank you
I was pregnant with my beautiful boy Sebastian
At the same time you were expecting Sadie and Renner's
So I feel like we're mum pals
We are we are
And now I need my mum pal's help.
I'm seven weeks pregnant with baby number two.
Oh, so jelly.
And I'm struggling.
Yeah, me too.
I mean, in a good way.
Yeah, we're happy for you, but we just want to keep having things.
I'm jelly of your, you're going to be growing your bumps.
The first trimester is wiping me out.
Constant sickness, exhaustion and zero ability to function.
Seby is a whirlwind and I just can't keep up.
Do you have any first trimester survival tips beyond the usual ginger biscuits?
I'm tired of throwing my breakfast straight back up.
And do you have activities to entertain a bouncy tautler while I wallow on the sofa?
Thanks for keeping me company
for all the highs and lows of motherhood, Francesca.
Stay indoors and never leave.
Yeah.
Put the telly on for your toddler.
And all seriousness,
I wish I could give you some really great advice.
But obviously, Renner's was the same age as Joseph
when you fell pregnant with Sadie.
So it was like 18 months.
Hang on a minute.
Reners was the...
Sorry.
Colby was the same age as Joseph.
Yes.
When you fell pregnant with Sadie as when you fell pregnant with Doddy.
Yes.
So I literally just sat in.
I did eat just toast.
It's hard.
So all I could keep down in the first trimester with Dottie was just toast.
Were you sick?
I felt nauseous, but I wasn't actually sick.
So I, we did just stay in.
We did a lot of colouring.
Rennie, if there's, Sebastian's the same age.
Yeah.
Did you say?
Yeah, it'd be like 20 months.
Yeah.
So Renner's really loves colouring, really loves cars.
I literally just used to try and make the house as fun as possible while eating toast.
Everything was beige for me with dot, salty crisps, ready salted crisp, toast,
Biscuits, that's all I ate.
Tea. And it was a long
period of time in the house.
Yeah. I did just buckle up shop
and stay indoors because...
Plus it's cold now so I feel like it's staying in...
Yeah, it's a good time of year. It's a good time of you to stay in.
But I wish I could give you more advice. I don't have any.
I don't know if you can share any.
I wasn't sick. I think if you're throwing up, it's really hard
because you probably don't want to be out.
No.
When you're going to throw up, obviously don't want to be like caught short in the supermarket.
But you equally are going to feel sick with a toddler running around.
But I did have nausea.
more so with Sadie than I ever did with Joseph.
And I, again, was eating a lot of, like, peanut butter on toast and peanut butter sandwiches
and, like, crisps.
I was, like, yeah, I had the diet of, like, a five-year-old.
I, and it's a lot when you've got a toddler running around.
And they don't understand, like, I remember Joseph would just, like, jump on me and jump
on my bump, and it is hard, it's exhausting, and you've just got to get through it.
And I think, I know it feels like a really long time, but I think in the scheme of things,
like, it's not that long, and it will go fast, and you'll look back.
And it's not like you're, you know, Seby's not going to be like, oh, you didn't do anything with me for
eight months or whatever.
As long as you're around and you're with him, he won't remember this.
Yeah.
I think it will be fine if you just keep it low key.
And I know, like Emma said, it is a short period of time.
But I honestly cannot even for a second imagine how it feels because we've been there and it is long.
And I don't want to take that from you because it is one of the hardest things is when you've got a toddler and then you're pregnant, isn't it?
Yeah, but I think like the guilt can get to you of like, oh, I was going to say.
I didn't get out with the kids today.
I didn't do anything with them.
And actually, like...
We're cold season.
Seb's not going to remember this.
Do you know what I mean?
If you're just at a home doing low-key, chilled things with him,
lean on the telly, seriously.
Like, I did...
I let Joseph slip into a bit of a YouTube wormhole when Sadie was born,
which I had to, like, rain back on a little bit,
so he ended up watching videos.
He shouldn't have really been watching.
But I was just like, I'm just desperate.
I need, like, two minutes to do something.
Like, you can just do that.
Disney, toys.
Do what you want.
So for naps.
Lots of napping together.
Blankets.
Make it all cozy.
So you're both, I also have found that with the Christmas tree,
the Christmas tree is actually making Renley really calm at the moment.
Is it?
Because where it's getting dark early and the lights are all going off
and the lounge is cosy,
he's really into just sitting on the sofa.
So I think making it all cozy and as long as you're both comfortable,
you're both happy, he isn't going to remember this time.
So I think if that eases your mind a little bit
without feeling guilty, he won't ever remember this.
Yeah, I don't feel like you need to be out every day doing stuff with him.
If you're not feeling 100%.
You've got to look after.
you mama as well as little man and he's going to love that he's got your undivided attention
to just sit and chill with it. That is all they really want. So I think take every day as it comes
if you're feeling great and you want to do some colouring, wonderful. One day you wake up and you
want to do a little bit of baking. But if you want to spend your day on the sofa, 10-10, I can't
stay there. You do that. You do that, my darling. But stopping the sickness, I can't help. Yeah,
just eat. Just got to keep eating. Carbs. Yeah. Snacking. It was like picking all day.
Yeah. I had to just graze all day like a little pony.
I did. Yeah. Yeah. But we're sending you all the love and all the world. Please keep us posted. I want to know how it goes, how you're doing. Oh, just I'm really excited for you, Francesca, and congratulations. I know. Oh, so adorable. Right. Let's have secret number two. All right. This one says, hello, lovely ladies. I have a four-year-old son, Mason, and an 18-month old little girl, Casey. Me and my partner have co-slept with her since she was about six months old. She became ill and I was too scared to let her sleep on her own. But ever since then, she just won't settle anywhere but in our bed. As much as I have
adore the extra cuddles. I can't help wanting a bit more me time and a bit more itchy leg time,
my partner. Go on, girlie. She napsed brilliantly in her cot during the day, but at night
it's a different story. She hates the cot. We've tried turning it into a cot bed, and she'll go
down with me next to her, but she always wakes in the night, and the only way to get her back
to sleep is bringing her into our bed. Any advice would be amazing. My son has always been
an incredible sleeper, so this is a huge change for us from Amy in East Sussex.
This is, for me, would be definitely boy girl. So Colby was incredible.com. C.1.
was not so.
I don't think,
I think mine isn't boy girl.
I think it's first child.
Do you think, yeah,
because we didn't put,
Renner's as a,
the only reason I, sorry,
I should say,
the only reason I say boy girl
is because Renner's is phenomenal.
But something I will say is that I also
slept with,
to get Renly into his cop,
I slept with the teddy bear
in the pillowcase.
So it's smelt of me.
And then I put them in the bed.
So the bear or,
and I do now put a spray of the perfume.
When I wake up in the morning,
I just put a spray
on the bum of the teddy bear
so that when it goes into a bed
it's my perfume it's my smell
that's really clever
do you have a night light
no no but we have just invested in
the Tony too
which comes with the night light on it
not an ad but it does have a night light on it
which I'm really excited about
because I think you might just be getting
a little bit scared of the dark
so I think that's gonna really help
but I think you can get like bears
that emulate a breathing
yes feel
spray a little or hug a teddy
hug a teddy that you can give to her
That's a good idea.
And hopefully that might help.
We do white noise on the Yoto.
Mine wasn't ad.
We got them gifted, didn't we?
We did.
And I loved the one for Joseph so much.
I asked them to send me one for Sadie as well, which was so kind of them.
So now they've each got their own Yoto going in their own room.
Oh, that's really sweet.
And they absolutely love it.
So white noise all night for Sadie and then Jojo always has a story on.
Like, he's into Toy Story at the moment.
So he's got that.
But this email from Amy could have been written by me and Stefan.
We're in exactly the same situation.
Sadie naps in her cot.
She goes down in her cot.
most nights nine times out of ten
she will end up in our bed before the morning
is it relatively light in her room
no her room is dark
in the nap
nap time yeah it's always dark
but she
annoyingly now in our new house we don't have curtains yet in our room
so when she comes into our bed she is waking really early
because it's getting light
so we need to sort that out but yeah she's again
another one that like if she wakes up in the night
she can't really settle herself without
me and Stefan are just coming into bed with us
so I might try some of those things
The bear definitely really helped Renner's, only to get him started.
He doesn't sleep with it now.
No, no.
And do you still do the thing with your smell?
Yeah, I always hug the bear.
Yeah.
And the, but the thing is now is the bear has been washed.
You can wash it in your laundry scent.
So what your clothes would smell of, I also do wash it now and I make sure that I stick to the
same laundry detergent.
Because when he picks it up and it's clean, he like rubs it on his face now or like rubs
it on his little ears and he loves it so much.
If I give Jojo a teddy that's clear, like straight out of the wash, he's like,
No, I don't, he's like, I want the dirty one that smells like,
oh, ass, if I take one off a shelf and give it to Renley.
So I bought him the same dog from IKEA and I bought him a new one
because people kept saying to me the stuffing goes on them.
So I bought another one and someone said to rotate them because the bears go really floppy really quickly.
So I was like, that's a great idea.
Put it in the loft in case we ever lost him.
And now I'm like, no, I've got him on rotation.
So I gave him the clean new dog.
Not the same.
No, Jojo's the same.
And he literally threw it out, gave him the old dog back, he snuggled it.
So then I tested it.
So I washed it in my laundry detergent the next day, gave him the same bear back once it was dry, sniffed it.
Oh, he liked it.
Yeah.
To try and stick to the scents, I think, as well.
Yeah, sense is a good one.
And it was funny you should say about being warm because my mum had Sabie the other night.
And like I say, she's not sleeping through the night for us really at all.
And then my mum had her.
She was like, oh, as well as I was sleeping bag, I tucked a quilt around her quite tightly, just as she didn't get cold.
And when my mum had her, I was like, oh, God, how did Sadie do last night?
Did she have you up?
and she went in her cocktail 6.30.
I was like, bloody Nora.
Yeah.
So maybe she's a bit cold.
Yeah.
But hopefully, let us know, Amy,
and I hope you get some itchy legs
because out of all of this, that is the priority.
And if you can't do it at night,
do it while she's napping during the day.
Do it in the kitchen.
You've got to take the winds away.
Over the counter like Emma.
Right, should we have our last secret?
All right.
Hi, Sophanem.
Whenever I'm in the car with my dad,
he loves to repeat stories from when I was little,
like I've never heard them before.
Oh, that's cute.
Such a dad thing.
I know, I love that, though.
Recently, he told me about the time I was at my grandmas while they did a food shop.
I was messing about it in the kitchen and she told me to stop.
Of course, I didn't.
Five minutes later, she caught me again and said,
stop doing that, you little devil.
I confidently replied, I'm not a little devil.
My daddy says, I'm a little sod.
Safe to say, he watched what he said around me after that.
Now he loves reminding me to be careful what I say around my own little boy, Vinnie,
because he'll always be listening.
I love the pod and look forward to it on my way to work.
I love Fiona in Manchester.
Oh Fiona, thank you.
Every time I hear
Manchester now, all I can hear is
where are you from?
Manchester!
Manchester!
I feel like it's never...
They've put...
They've single-handedly put Manchester back on the map.
Did it ever go away?
No.
It just makes me laugh
every time I hear here in Manchester now.
I'm like, where are you from Manchester?
If you're not watching, I'm a celebrity.
Yeah, sorry, son I'm a celebrity.
There's a look at you.
I had too much parish content for this week
so we had to move on to I'm a celebrity next week.
I keep you updated on that because I'm fully deep.
Yes, I am as well.
I was watching on the train on the way in.
We'll have a debrief.
But we love this so much, Fiona.
I cannot cope with a little sod.
This is so telling of like the time that she grew up in as well
because not only is her dad saying little sod,
but her grandma is calling her a little devil.
I know.
Can't do that now.
Can't do that now.
Maybe in the comfort of you're in home.
This sounds like an 80s or 90s childhood, I would say.
I would say she's one of us.
Yeah.
She's a millennial baby.
I love that so much.
Thank you.
Really tickled me.
