Sense of Soul - Freedom Found in Qigong and Ren Xue
Episode Date: April 9, 2021In today’s Sense of Soul Podcast episode we are talking about an inspiring story of two ordinary people living thousands of miles apart: Dorrie from New Zealand and Norberto from Portugal. Who ind...ependently discover an innovative form of Qigong offering the promise of health, inner peace and true freedom. Based on spiritual knowledge and ancient wisdom, REN XUE is a system that helped them not only navigate severe injury, fear and depression but eventually reach a deep state of inner peace and freedom. Dorrie and Norberto’s individual transformations are dramatic and profound, affecting everyone in their lives, generating new hope for humanity, the earth and our entwined destiny, their story beautifully told in the documentary film Already Free Produced and Directed by KIM SHELTON. ALREADY FREE reminds us of the potential we as humans truly have, and that NOW is the time to develop and make use of this innate gift. Dorrie and Norberto’s individual transformations are dramatic and profound, affecting everyone in their lives, generating new hope for humanity, the earth and our entwined destiny. Like Dorrie and Norberto, every year people from all over the world travel to New Zealand to meet the Chinese teacher, healer and founder of REN XUE, Yuan Tze. Through his profound teachings they find answers to their questions about life and the development of human consciousness. On April 24 and 25th (to coincide with this years World Tai Chi and Qigong Day) we are offering free access to the film streaming on the Already Free website. Welcome to the Sense of Soul podcast. We are your hosts, Shanna and Mandy.
Grab your coffee, open your mind, heart and soul. It's time to awaken.
Today we are talking about an inspiring story of two ordinary people living thousands of miles away from each other.
Dory from New Zealand and Norberto from Portugal. They independently discover an
innovative form of Qigong. Based on spiritual knowledge and ancient wisdom, Renzu is a system
offering the promise of health, inner peace, and true freedom. Their story is beautifully told in
the documentary film Already Free, produced and directed by Kim Shelton. Already Free reminds us of the potential
we as humans truly have. And now is the time to develop and make use of this innate gift. Today,
we have with us Dory and Roberto, and they are here to share their stories of their self-realizations
and their awakening and healing and how that turned into also sharing and helping
others. Thank you so much for being with us. It's a pleasure to have you both. Thank you very much.
We are happy to be here. Yes, thank you. And Navrata, why don't you tell us about when you were a kid,
this has been something you've been interested in since you were young? Yes, I think that I started to have this interest
around five years old. First was highly associated with martial arts, but it was also a search for
spirituality in other fields. Around my eight years old, I started to read books that they
were not allowed to rent for me on some libraries, but I got some permission books about monks in Japan or Buddhists and things in
India and so on and and even philosophy books when I when I had around 12 years old I read all the
books of Nietzsche and other philosophers books about Kundalini and the chakras and I was reading
all those things was was not easy to find them
on those times there was not that many internet like now but somehow I was able to find them
always very connected martial arts and doing my spiritual parts with martial arts until I got
hurt on my lower back I think that's so fascinating that your soul was seeking this sort of knowledge
at such a young age. Wow. Was it because, did you see like a kung fu film or where did this
even spark in your soul to seek out this kind of wisdom? Beginning, I think I had some influence
from my grandparents when I was three and five years old.
But I think the martial arts thing started
around my five years old when I watched the movie with Bruce Lee.
Bruce Lee was graduated in philosophy
and he wanted to put philosophy and spiritual things on his movies.
Unfortunately, he died before he was able to fully accomplish that.
But on his last two movies,
Enter the Dragon and The Game of Death,
he was already able to put some things there.
Dori, what about you as a child?
Were you introduced to any of these practices?
Not as a child, no.
But I certainly had my questions about life,
a lot of times I did, but when you watch the documentary, you will hear there that I had a
lot of questions about the death, I actually was really, well, obsessed is a big word, but that was,
I was very intrigued by death, and I also didn't understand why people weren't talking about it.
And I find it very interesting and beautiful and so I wanted to know more about it but
I didn't get any information about it. I certainly was attracted already to martial arts because I
have also done that in my life so there's quite an age difference
between me and Norberto but I also watched all the movies from Bruce Lee and Zorro because Norberto
was also into Zorro but the questions in life yes and there were a lot of questions for me
also about religion that I couldn't understand it really. I had to wait until I could discover this all.
But it is just like Norberto says in the Ren Xu system,
we both have found so much depth
because all my questions, what I have about life,
they all got answered.
So all the pieces of the puzzle,
they came in there about the death,
about finding my way in spirituality, religion.
I could find my way there too.
And so it is a huge thing if you suddenly feel,
oh, this is really me.
Now I understand it all.
And yeah, that gives a lot of peace inside yourself.
But you didn't find these answers on the outside or in a book or in a sermon.
I read so many books.
And so it was not that it was not good.
Every time I found a little piece, but it didn't really click within myself.
But when I found the Renhu Life Cultivation Path, there I immediately found all the answers.
I mean, how your body works, how your mind works, how your consciousness works, how you find the depth about human nature, about the laws of life, we say, so that you feel
the information, how it always has been in life, but you don't know that information. So you can
explore that and you can then use it in your daily life. Because that is, of course, what it
is about. Everything you learn, you need to apply that in your daily life
let's talk about this system you both have mentioned it the renshu system what exactly
is it and can you explain how you found it and who the founder of it was so renshu is a life
cultivation system if you translate this to english, it means human life science. The science of human life, yes.
It's a system that allows us to study the totality of existence of humans
and the laws that are subject to the existence of humans
and how we can achieve our potential and a higher level of wisdom and realization
and also manifest other qualities like well-being and health, but the most important, the wisdom and realization and also manifest other qualities like well-being and health but the most important
the wisdom and realization the system is a very complete system that works in many levels of life
we have the qigong system that works in different levels of energy it works on the external energy
the internal energy the energy of the channels the energy, we call it the qilun, but normally
they know as chakras, the central channel. And so it goes to a very deep level of working on the
qi or energy. Not only that, it also works on the, what we call it the spiritual heart, that is the
shin, and what we call the manifestation of the true self.
We call it your sense of soul.
That sounds amazing.
So is this a program you sign up for, you commit to?
Is it in person?
Is it online for you?
I know things have changed with COVID.
Are there different levels?
How does this work?
Well, there are different possibilities for you.
So if you want to follow the program by
yourself online that's possible so there is an online program of the ranchu americas which is
very lovely and you can also connect with uh with teachers they are they're all over the world so
you can also have a look at that at the website on the ranchu international.org
there you can find teachers for all over the world and most of them they do now provide online
teaching because of the covid of course because of the covid Yancey started to do the teachings
by himself online I think that is really special to try this and to feel the information
what is there because that is of course what it is about that you can feel with
your heart there the information only by that you can already make quite a change
for your life so number two you mentioned qigong. Is it a form of meditation while moving, or can you explain it?
Qigong means working on the energy or cultivating energy, or qi.
It can be with movements, it can be still, it can be with open eyes, closed eyes, it depends on the system itself.
In China there are probably a few thousands of
techniques of qigong they are different they will depend of the system that the theories of the
system some systems don't have even theory but most of the qigong is known as just like a single
method single exercises with the intention for health.
Most of the Qigong is with that.
Then there are some that are more rare, that are systems of Qigong, so they have a few
exercises to help them to reach some goal.
And there are more complex systems that they have a theoretical foundation and they have
the method itself, different methods
to work on different levels. Those are more rare. The Yuan Gong, that is a system that is present on
the Renshui, is a very complete system because it has a very good theoretical foundation and has a
step-by-step to work on different levels of energy. tai chi a form of qigong tai chi is a martial
art that uses qigong okay because i i one time took a class and i have to laugh because i kept
on calling it chai tea or um yeah i was all screwed up i'm like wait that's at starbucks i get the
chai yeah but i have a hard time with being able to move think set my
intentions do all these things at the same time how do you feel about that Dory yeah but because
you say that I have done that too I've done also Tai Chi and what not so many people know is that
Tai Chi comes from Qigong so Qigong is even older in the system but I also had that I did quite some
dance in my life but I noticed also with doing Tai Chi that I was counting three steps forward
and then one back you know like that what I notice with now with the Yang Gong system
it is so natural it is the opposite it is just moving with your body of course you
follow the form but it is in a different way you really use more the inside of yourself so you
use your feeling you direct your mind in it is quite different to practice but it is very simple actually to practice but very powerful but what I also would
like to say is that so that is why Yonsei has chosen human science of life it's because it's
so much more it is not about only that movement that is only what is it I don't know. 10 or 20 percent of all our development. And Roberto, because it is so much
more about how we use our mind in our daily life, how we use our heart in our daily life. And so
that goes hand in hand with this whole system. One of the important of of this system is to apply in real life so it's not that
you just go and do the practice in a very quiet room and that's it you keep applying the principles
of the practice to everyday activity so that you can integrate all this knowledge i think that works
for you yeah because i had so many moms who came to me and they said,
oh, I love my yoga.
And then afterwards they said, yeah.
And then I was 15 minutes at home and the children,
they were begging for something and there I was out of it.
And my state is not good anymore.
That is what that we apply.
We want to do it differently to have a good state the whole day that is quite
something isn't it so noberto you said apply these principles can you give us an example of one
there are many principles as an example the first g-con form that uses the ability to open and close
from inside to the external world and the external world from inside.
So there is this openness and exchange with external world without having any blockage to open all those blockages.
And you can apply that in real life when someone is being rude to yourself.
Normally when someone is being rude to ourselves we tend to close
ourselves and become defensive and that normally is not the best solution if we are able to open
remain open in a way that we don't hold on to what is coming in we just observe that as it is and let it go as it is then the things cannot harm us
anymore i love that yes there are many examples the second form is the ability to remain still
no matter what happens in the external world so if you are able to remain still when you are in
traffic when you are going to do all the daily things the things will just flow
much natural and much more natural and easy yeah you're focused that you don't have to lose your
energy and in certain ways yes it's very beautiful form to the second form what would you want to add
to that dory are there any other principles or forms that you particularly love or that have helped you in your life?
Yes. Oh, well, there are so many. There is so much wisdom in the system.
So but for me, one what has been crucial is that everything is changing.
And so that can be when you look at it it can be very simple of course when you look in
nature everything is changing you see the changing in the seasons and so you know that everything
will unfold the way it has to unfold and so when we are in our daily life knowing that everything
will change can let you think about the things. I will go back to the family again.
So when you see that your child is in not such a good state, you will know that this is going to
change once, isn't it? Because that child doesn't stay in that state. So it is about me then actually who can accept this state from that other person
I don't say that we don't have to do anything about it but the acceptance there that is such
a huge part in it because then you can just watch it you can just watch what is happening it's like
you are looking at a movie for example so that you
are not so much involved with your emotions and so that can of course bring then a change within
yourself and so that that everything is changing of course look at now at this moment at the
pandemic what is happening how is this for you everything is changing will we ever
go back to the old things or will new things arise how is that for you and so having that
knowledge and to apply that in your daily life it's really very nice to do So in the beautiful documentary that both of you guys were in and subject of, you guys both
experienced very different, but both experienced these self-realizations. You created this space
that you spoke about. And in that space, you had discovered all of these patterns that you didn't
really realize that were there and then you
guys begin to start working through them is that right the the work on the patterns is uh is the
the core of French way it uh it is the most important thing because in French way we see
that the conscious is the master of life.
To manifest the true potential of the conscious, we need to go beyond what is blocking it to manifest the full potential.
What is blocking the potential of the conscious are the patterns that are there, or what we call in psychology the unconscious mind.
So we need to bring that to the surface in order to see what is not allowing us to manifest our true self and our true heart. When we are in touch, we can change them. Without knowing them,
we cannot change them. So we see them and we have the tools and the methods to help us to go through
that. The seventh, the eighth and the nine method of renche are mainly uh focused on
those uh practice and transform the patterns that are not allowing us to manifest our true heart
not allowing us to manifest our true consciousness and everything that block us to manifest our true
potential too and dory was that something that happens naturally? Because I mean, not everybody
can awaken to these things at the same time, I would think, you know, we're not at the same level.
So is that something that he takes you through? Or is that something that just kind of naturally
happens? So if you ask me how it went with me, I also practiced already for quite some years the pattern work. At this retreat, we were first taught now about the heart.
And after that, there was also a self-inquiry.
And so I never had done that.
And that actually led me into everything.
That was when I suddenly began to see all my patterns very clearly.
But before, I was just working on my
patterns which also was very liberating because every time I tackled one which was very beautiful
but when this system came there suddenly I could see the difference I can see how it is helpful
to bring this all together because it is just like you say,
everybody is, of course, on your own development.
And so you need a little bit of this
while another person needs a little bit of that.
And so I think there is for everyone
something in this system
that makes it really very special
that I have never seen a system
what has this knowledge inside itself.
One thing that makes it very different is that we don't use our mind to work on the patterns
because using the mind to work on the patterns is using the patterns to work on patterns and that
will never go anywhere. We generate a very special state by first cultivating our true heart and then by connecting
our true heart with our true self.
And then we have the directions and the orientations from the true self.
So the development will be very personal to each one, to each person.
Like I have this picture of like the matrix in my mind
because you guys keep talking about this system.
And it's almost like it's like these downloads.
And, you know, when I watched the film,
I was mesmerized by your movement.
It's a very beautiful thing to watch.
I mean, just watching you was calming my soul.
It's just, it's so beautiful. When I was doing some research on like the benefits and the history, I was cracking up because they kept
talking about how the Chi is also maybe what they meant in Star Wars is the force.
And I was like, Ooh, the force is within each one of us. But I did go on and do a beginner's YouTube of the Qigong and it felt very beautiful, almost like a dance.
And I didn't, I kind of was just using my intuition on the movements. Is that what you're doing? Am I doing it correctly? When you're, you're, I mean, there was no mind or thought of what I was doing I was just kind of like I was in a very calm meditative state
well that's really nice that you did that that you already experienced it by yourself so
you already came in a very good state I think having no thoughts that isn't that the best but but when you do the practice of the system every system has
different mind thoughts so for example the first method really looks after your chi so you gather
a lot of chi and you use your mind with that so you have their of course instructions how to do that how to
gather the energy inside your body so then you would even have a deeper experience I think when
you would go and do this with this program kind of filter your thoughts and as you do you're like
oh wait where'd that come from oh shit I didn't even know that was there yes you start in the beginning you start because there are also some verses to put
you in a very good state and to connect you with your heart and for I go now to the first method
what I said about gathering the chi so every time when you make a movement and you go out with your body,
you also go out with your mind to the outside, to nature, to the universe. And every time when
you move with your hands inside, when you draw them inside back to your body, you also draw
all the positivity or all the beautiful qi inside your body and so you follow there a
principle what goes wherever your mind goes the chi will follow so whatever I do with my mind
the chi will always follow if it is if I want to go outside to nature I go outside and when I draw the energy in, and that peaceful state you probably connected with his
information with his chi field with his information there so that is why you also could feel the
calmness there it's not only seeing it with your eyes it is also feeling it inside yourself
yeah that's beautiful does it go anywhere in the body? Like I know Norberto, you said you
had pain in the lower back, so were you intentionally drawing something and bringing it back to your
pain? On the system is for the whole body, so because we use a very specific type of qi that
is the Yuan qi, that is a qi that is very pure and exists on the void of the universe,
of the void of everything.
And this type of qi, because it's so pure and so specific,
when it comes to the body, it will transform in whatever you need.
So if you need a qi of the characteristic that is more yin or more yang,
it will transform in more yin or more yang.
If you need more heat, it will become more heat.
If you need cold, it will become cold. So it will go like that. But also we can direct that for a more specific thing that we need most.
Another important thing is that the qi carries information. This qi is very pure, so the information is very pure there.
But we need to be very aware of what our mind does, because if we put negative information,
the Qi will intensify that negative information in our bodies. It's good that we address our state, that before we start we are in a good state, a peaceful state and then we do the practice like that so it's not something that if you're all pissed off and
just got done road raging that you want to like get out of your car and start doing in the middle
of the highway or anything that could be helpful to get you out if you are in rage and you do the
practice to experience more rage then probably you're going to experience more rage.
Gotcha. So where does this information come from?
Well, the information, our consciousness has the ability to generate information.
It receives information, processes information and can generate information.
Part of the information is generated from our conscious.
Part of the information is generated from the laws of life and the laws of the universe, and also for the natural qualities of things.
Everything carries information. It's like this small box has some specific information, but the box, because it has no consciousness, doesn't have the ability to change information or create information or process
information that is a quality that is typical from the humans and then of course the the universe
that has the biggest consciousness how to call it is the conscious that permits everything that
is present in everything that is the biggest source of information,
is what creates the laws of the universe
that then can come with different terms.
In Chinese, there is the Tao word.
I think it's very specific from the Chinese.
The Tao is the origin of the qi.
And from the qi that first comes on this level
of a very pure and non-differentiated qi,
from that qi that generates the yin and yang, that is the polarization,
and from the polarization generates all the universe, all the movements are generated from that.
You said the name of the system is the science of human life.
So was there a specific science background, Yance, that he has?
Well, the background of Yance is mainly Qigong, martial arts, Buddhism, Taoism, and how is the other one?
Confucianism.
Confucianism, yes.
And some traditional Chinese medicine.
He, by himself, he doesn't have any kind of scientific background,
but he was in touch with scientific groups in China.
They were doing research with Qigong,
and when he was there,
he was one of the special members of the most important Qigong organization. There were only 100 teachers, and he was one of the special members of the most important Qigong organization.
There were only 100 teachers and he was one of them.
And they used to do some scientific experiments,
even experience with special abilities and other things.
Like levitating?
I don't think that there were people doing that,
but there were people doing things like...
There are different levels of special abilities, but the most natural ones are the ability to see the energy.
There were people that had the ability to have remote hearing or remote vision,
or the ability also to like make disappear an object
and make it appear in another place.
They were doing tests like that with those things.
Wait, what is remote?
Okay, remote hearing.
Is that just clairaudience?
Yes, I think it is.
It's also fascinating.
And where do the chakras come into play?
Yes, the chakras are placed in the central channel of the body.
That is the channel that is not open.
Most of the people is closed.
When we're born, it's a bit open but then close very fast and when people
reach the self-realization it opens naturally too. Apart from that it can be opened through
different practices and those chakras are centers that are on that channel. Most of the people will talk about seven chakras,
but there are more than seven.
There are much more than seven.
As far as I know, there are up to 40 chakras
on the central channel, just on the central channel.
Some systems use just three, some systems use more.
They are highly related with some conscious activities.
They store and transmute different levels of energy.
We have the physical energy, we have more the emotional energy, we have more the mental energy.
And these different types of qualities of energy they are stored in
different places of the body some process of alchemy internal alchemy happen also on these
chakras we were talking about the special abilities and maybe for some people it sounds a little bit
strange but i think that it is something and that is also what you will learn while you're in
this system, that it is something actually very natural, and that it is not special actually at
all in a way, because everybody has it. It's just that it is more dormant for most of the people,
but by, but with doing the forms from Yangon, it will naturally also be activated for most of the people.
And what I really love here is that from the beginning, Yuan Tse told us that it has to be a safe system and safety goes first that's number one and so you've been taught this and also you will learn
when any reactions would come so you you get a fully explanation about that and so we all know
how to deal with things when something would come up and so that's very very beautiful I think when you can
just develop yourself in a very natural way with no limitations because I think that so often we're
just you have five senses that's all you got you know you only have seven chakras that's all you
got what I have found is that that's been my journey as well as
the more I discovered my energy, the more I discovered my soul, which I discovered through
my heart as well. Dory, I very much related to your story. And I also related to when you said
there was no going back. Like once that was open, once I had that realization I could never undo that it changed forever you
know but then it was like one other thing started to pop up and then you know and then I healed that
and then I was never changed on that it was like these and it didn't happen overnight which I wish
it would have that would have been great but then again you have a
lifetime and maybe many lifetimes of things that you are healing and discovering yes we never know
of course what I do appreciate here is that it is more like a family what is here doing this life
cultivation and so we can connect a lot with each other and help
each other move forward and I think that is also a very powerful point here because nowadays we
think that we are all alone on this journey and that we still need to do this by ourselves you
know but through connecting with others and really feeling the information
from another you can really lift yourself up in a very beautiful way and develop yourself
sooner faster this way also I know for myself and I think you guys as well
healed even more as I started to work with other people. Yes. And so when you, when you have made
this step, there is no, there's no way that you would not work with others.
So that it's something where you feel from deep inside yourself and you will follow that call
from your heart, isn't it? I love that. You know, that's the last step in, I'm in recovery and Alcoholics
Anonymous too, is to be of service to others. And when you get to that last step, I mean,
that's what keeps you in that place of serenity and peace, just service work and providing support
and recovery. I always say that's why God put us all on earth together is to support one another so Dory I have a question for you did you figure out what happens
when we die you said as a child you were wondering how has your perception and your thoughts about
death changed I think I actually went back to how I was a child. I feel now the same as what I did when I was very young.
Because with my memories, I can go back to being even in my mother's tummy.
And I feel the same now as I did then.
And so in between, there has been fear and desperation.
And so that I don't feel at all anymore so if I have to die now here right now that that would be fine for me because I know
that that is exactly then what I supposed to do yeah I can of, talk about what my experience is about when you die.
But that is, of course, my experience.
Yeah.
It will reveal once that moment will come.
I can feel certainly all the information there.
And I think you will feel complete and you will feel totally connected.
Here on Earth is just a life experience.
There is so much more for us to find in life.
I mean life without being here.
So were you guys both like running down the streets
with crazy hair, tipping cars over and wild people?
And then you found this program.
That's why you both are now so calm.
Or were you guys calm like this before no uh i have felt a lot of times anger in my life frustrated frustration inside myself and um also the despair i felt. My typical handling of things would be crying.
I could cry, you know, when something happened to me,
that I could become that victim and that I would cry a lot.
But also beyond that, that is the anger that I can't do it the way I want to do it
or that I can't express myself the way I want to do it or that I can't express myself the way I want to do it
that I couldn't do the things in my life the way I wanted to do them and I have all had to figure
out that that was inside myself of course there yeah now I can see it very clear and that's why
I don't have to do it anymore yeah when you're resisting what is
aligned really truly with your soul and heart and you haven't yet discovered that
and I think Norberto you talk so you talk a lot about this in your journey of surrender
and acceptance when we don't surrender and accept you will feel all of those things that you were
saying Dory right like I want to do this but I can't do this and you know so you get frustrated and angry like why isn't it working out like i want it to
it's just that resistance and what happens when you um surrender like you did never tell
the surrender is uh one of the most powerful things that we can do. Because one of the causes of suffering that we have in life
is that we think that we can control things,
that we control and that we can own things too.
Of course, some things are part of our life while we're here,
but they don't really belong to us.
If they were belonging to us,
they will be with us always,
no matter what.
If they are not with us always,
it means that they don't belong to us.
The body is with us,
for some time,
and while it's with us,
it has changes.
It gets older.
No one dies because it was too healthy. So the body has his own laws,
and those laws are laws that we cannot control. The body is here to help us, to serve us,
but at some point it goes back to his nature that will go to the earth to feed the plants,
and the plants will feed the animals, and animals will feed other animals and then they go back to earth too. So this is the cycle and the
laws of that level of existence. So when we surrender it's just that we break all those
illusions. The illusion of ownership of things, the illusion of having control over the things,
because what is meant to happen will happen, no matter how much we try.
Humans are trying to not die for already quite thousands of years,
and as far as I know, everyone has died.
Of course we can control some things in our lives.
It's not that we are all out of control or out of responsibility.
But we need to acknowledge those things that we can just do as far as we can.
You don't say just to give us this advice.
You do your best and what comes will come.
That's it.
And I think that illustrates what life can be.
And when we do our best,
sometimes we might even think
that we could have done in another way.
It's like this old story.
If I know what I know now 10 years ago,
my life will be very different.
But on those times, you didn't know that that this is what
happens life change and we grow and we learn we can just do what we have on that moment with our
own limitations and understanding so we have a lot of limitations in life and we don't know
everything we don't sometimes we think are doing good and we are not doing good sometimes we are
thinking that we are overcoming some challenge and we are just creating even more challenges
and so on at some point there is that we start to see all those limitations all those difficulties
and all those lack of understanding of life we just admitted to we are ignorant we just don't know and because we don't
know i just surrender life to a higher wisdom that can do whatever needs to be done and when
i surrender was uh was not a partial surrender was not a surrender but you give me good stuff you know what it reminds me a lot of what dory said though
too about like going back to as a child you know which is kind of interesting because when you
think about the brainwave of a child is the theta brainwave when we're trying to reach these deep
levels of meditation or in theta brainwave it's easy to then surrender and accept and so i
find it so interesting that we're going through all of our lives just to be back to our child self
a way of thinking what i mean are we just being punked or what this is so ironic so have a good look at all the children around you and feel how they
are feeling because you can learn a lot from them isn't this no judgment from them you know they
don't care what kind of car you have what kind of job you have yeah and they love unconditionally
yes yes it's so beautiful because what we were saying
about that resistance there so what i say is what you what you resist you live and look at a child
how does that child do well it is angry and then it is forgot that has completely forgotten and it
is doing something else so that is something what we also can do isn't it but we really have to use our
consciousness there and we have to catch ourselves when we are operating from the constructed self
identity to to bring ourselves back and feeling ourselves but when we are applying this and when
we every time doing this so that is the our brain works that that it is able to do
this then we form these new pathways and then we are able to do it differently I think the greatest
wisdom is that we should be more childlike I do and it's so sad because you want to grow up so
fast as a child right you? You're like, I just
want all, I want all the bills and I want all the cars and the stress and the divorces. And
it's hilarious. Are you kidding me? Kids, if you're listening, which they're probably not
because, but don't grow up. stay like peter pan i was watching a documentary about the painter and he said this sentence that was just fantastic
he said he's he was already with some age probably on his 60s something like that and he is
i'm still trying to find my adult adult self yes but we can also then have a look at how we as parents
communicate and treat our children isn't it um because we say it is so beautiful what they are
doing but a lot of times we as parents interfere in this in this whole process from the child and instead of that we give them more
patterns to work on later in their life so I think as a parent it is very important to develop
yourself and to understand what the child is doing here and how to approach children in maybe in a
different way and learn from them They can teach us so much.
Yes.
And so when you would do the ranchu work, I think there you can see that you don't only give it to yourself.
You really also give it to your own family.
To your friends.
Yeah.
You said the ranchu work. Well, a lot of people don't like to do work these days.
You know, that's the hard part. Me and Shanna could have on every amazing guest in the world, giving people all these tools. But unfortunately, especially in America, I feel like we want what we want and we want it now. So they want a magic pill of some sort. I'm the opposite. I love work. Like, give me more, give me more. I want to do more because I
know in that work is knowledge and wisdom and growth. But let's be realistic. How long of a
program is this? Is this a lifetime commitment? What does it look like? If you want to work on
life, as long as you live, you should work on that. The range phase can give you tools depending on, it's very flexible
depending on your own needs. You can just do a small practice every day or you can go deep and
do hours of practice every day. It will depend on the person itself. One of the principles of
range phase is to build a practice progressively according to your own
needs and ability to do it but the truth is if you really want to change your life you need to
make an effort no matter what there is no magic pill no so i wanted to touch base on this film
really fast so already free was streamed by several festivals in 2020, receiving the Merit
Award of Awareness at Awareness Film Festival 2020. You guys both were in this film. Oh my
gosh, there were like 7,000 people that joined to watch this film online. Shannon and I were
blessed enough to watch it ourselves. We both really enjoyed it.
Tell us what that experience was like.
And talk to us for a moment on how you hope people benefit from watching this film.
My experience, yeah, of course, I didn't know what it was about.
So they asked me if I wanted to participate in this.
And I just said yes to help other people
to move forward and I thought oh that is just that they come and interview me but I didn't
know that it was such a long time so they they spent a few weeks and yeah actually they met the
whole family the crew met the whole family. The crew met the whole family.
But it was really a very beautiful time together. We had also a lot of fun together and a lot of depth was there.
And so it was very nice to have the whole crew from America.
They first went to Norberto and after that they came to New Zealand.
And so it was a very rich process to do this.
And the benefit, what I hope that people will get out of it,
is already how you mentioned it,
that while you were watching, you felt that peaceful feeling.
And so that peaceful feeling is something what you will feel
when you will do this Ren Xu system work.
I hope that humanity will move forward. There has been a lot of moving forward from humanity
in the last era. There's been a lot of times in technology moving forward like that, but I really
hope that a change can come and that we work more on the
inside of ourselves and that we discover what we can do with our minds how we can improve ourselves
and from there to help others move forward and to do the same because of course in that way the
whole world will change it's actually it is quite simple.
Amen to that. And how about you, Norberto? What was it like for you? And what are your hopes?
The reason why I have done the documentary was to help more
people to first to let them know that it was possible for
everyone. And what they could experience and feel if they go
through that path and to the ability to transform themselves.
Doing the documentary was very fun.
It was a very, very nice experience.
They came to Portugal.
I was very impressed with Vicente,
the one that was doing the camera with with all the equipment that he brings.
It was amazing and it was really nice. It was the questions that Kim has made, they were very deep,
all interactions. And yes, first we had done this first part in Portugal and then in New Zealand, at least 30 hours in Portugal of recordings.
And then we had done an extra recording scene in the United States and Sweden. Because the
process of them to create the editing and doing all this was a very deep process and
they just went for more material at
the end had you guys known each other prior to the documentary yes let's say we were going for
classes already for a few years together in new zealand during the retreats but we have never
had a chance to really connect and talk but after this transformation we really got to talk a lot together
yes that's awesome thank you guys both for putting yourself out there and doing that documentary
and and for sharing your story i mean you really have been very vulnerable and authentic
in your life story and the things you struggled with before and the things that you've embraced and
your awakening to your soul and so i just wanted to say thank you because i am a strong believer
that sharing is where we connect with other people and create that space for healing for
one another so thank you and that's part of the principles too yeah it's very kind how you say
that that we felt that these emotions and everything,
but of course we want to share it because it is now such a different feeling. So why shouldn't
we share it? Because we of course want that for everybody. I wanted to add that not only did I
feel peace when I watched the documentary, but I also felt curiosity and I thought, Ooh, I want what they
have, you know, that got me researching it and looking into it and trying it out in my basement,
looking like a fool, not knowing what I was doing, but it's, it's progress, not perfection,
right? You know, you can't always be perfect. Do you guys find that there are step backs
and that you might find yourself angry and then you have to
just reevaluate and get centered again there is no no step back
is um is what i can say is like a mirror you just reflect everything but you remain peaceful as you
are and that feels exactly the same for me, yes.
I think that is the huge change here.
And when I can do it, another person can also do it.
And so the curiosity, what you have,
I would really also say, well, go and explore it.
And now it's time for break that shit down.
Sorry.
Come on, break that shit down.
You maybe feel doubt in your life.
You can feel desperation and you can feel fear.
But there is a very good reason why it is there in your life. you can feel desperation and you can feel fear,
but there is a very good reason why it is there in your life.
I would like to challenge you and to ask you,
maybe you want to explore this further.
By wanting to explore this further, you can feel and find depth in your life,
what you really haven't seen before. I think that is something what can give hope to yourself,
that you know that there is a way to change for yourself. Change is always possible.
And you find that answer inside yourself.
That's what I would like to say.
Nice, nice.
We all go through challenges
and no one is alone on that.
Normally, we look to the others
and the life of the other seems perfect, all of them, but ours not.
And doing this external comparation, external searching just leads us to a process of forgetting ourselves. and so just go in words and look in words and search always for who you really are
who you are without patterns without the emotions without the body all those things just let
go and search who you really are and you'll see that there is someone that is higher than you
imagine and someone that has never left you, that is always supporting you at every moment, nourishing you and guiding you through all the challenges, even when we don't see this true self inside of us.
Both of those messages are beautiful.
Thank you.
I needed to hear those as well.
So thank you. I needed to hear those as well. So thank you. Could you tell our listeners where
they can find the film and where they can look more at the system? So the worldwide website for
the Renshu system is RenshuInternational.org. Renshu, you spell with R-E-N and then X-U-E,
because that's a little bit difficult for some people.
And the Already Free Film.
You can find that on AlreadyFreeFilm.org.
And there you can find all the information.
How to watch it.
Or maybe also to watch it with other people.
And it's actually available in like 13 different languages.
