Cops are calling it a disturbing house of bars while searching this sprawling property.
They say they found shocking videotapes.
58 people were identified in these images that we've seen.
Was this dilapidated property, a torture chamber and slaughterhouse?
One day the phone calls just stopped and we knew it was something deeper.
Hey, true crime besties.
Welcome back to an all new episode of Serialist Lee.
Hello, hello, hello, and welcome back to an all new episode of Serialessly with me, your host, Annie Elise.
Happy Monday.
I hope you had a fantastic weekend.
I hope you are having a good start to your week, although like I love to say, I'm probably about to ruin that for you.
Because once again, we have some sick and twisted-ass shit to talk about today.
And look, I wasn't sure if I was going to do an episode on this case, or I should say,
a deeper dive into this case, but there is not only so much more information that has been
released, but so much more twisted information that is truly unfathomable.
As soon as I think that it can't get any worse, it somehow does get worse.
And in the most diabolical, twisted, hills have eyes type of way.
Now, back in the end of August, I had released a deep dive into the RC and Eugene Horsh.
situation, that whole case, also known in the media as the Philadelphia House of Horrors or the
Philly House of Horrors. However, since then, as I said, there have been some major developments,
including the police now linking seven missing women to this house. Potential ties to a man
we have talked about about on this podcast before to, Jonathan Gerlach, a man who is accused of
stealing and selling over 100 bodies from Pennsylvania cemeteries. And
I mean, here's where my mind is so blown, okay?
When I first did the deep dive back in August, we were hearing from law enforcement that this
may be the biggest serial killer case in recent history.
And at first, I was kind of like, okay, maybe, but it kind of also feels like it's giving
Lady Bird Lake or one of those situations where not to diminish that at all.
I definitely do think there is some weird serial killer shit going on there.
but whereas like, is it going to be proven? Is it real? Is this just something, you know, a catchy
headline people are using trying to capture attention? No. It is, I legit think probably true,
one of the biggest serial killer cases, if not the biggest, in our lifetime. Truly, I believe that.
Because like I said, not only have police now linked seven missing women to the home belonging to
R.C. and Eugene Horsch, a father and son duo that legit do look like they came out of the hills
have eyes. But they found urns there, chemical drums in the basement. The backstory is enough
to send a chill down your spine of how they were potentially obtaining their victims. It is sick.
So that brings me to today and why I'm doing this new episode. Because now that so many details and so much
information has come out. And there is this new renewed sense of interest in the case,
or not even new, like not renewed. That's probably the wrong word to describe it. But so many
people who hadn't heard about the case, even back in August when it first broke,
that now we're hearing these new updates and they're like, whoa, whoa, whoa, what is going on here?
Like, what's the story? What's happening here? I want to catch up. So I figured I will walk you
through the updated timeline. I'm going to break down everything that we have learned since
that original deep dive, which don't worry, if you have not listened to that deep dive,
I'm going to give you a quick recap, but also will link that deep dive for you below.
And I'll give you all the background that you really need to understand just so that you know
and can fully see how big these new developments are.
So don't worry, it's not like you're going to be getting dropped into the middle of a story
right now.
I'm going to let you know what you need to know.
But if you want the full crazy detail deep dive, I will link that in the show notes for you as
well. But let's start with giving you some background on these two pieces of shit. Okay. To begin with,
I want to give you background information on not only the father, Raymond, R.C., Horsch and all of this,
but his deluded son, Eugene Horsh. Now let's start with R.C. R.C. had a decades-long history
of criminal activity and very disturbing creative work. I am talking work that is out of American
horror story. Okay. He produced independent adult films that would feature violent,
and sadomasochistic themes.
And he would often recruit very vulnerable women from the streets, addicts, sex workers,
people just struggling with addiction all throughout Kensington.
He would be like, hey, come be a part of my movie.
Or, hey, I want to photograph you.
And I'll give you some money.
Or I don't know, maybe he was offering drugs.
Who the hell even knows?
But the type of films and photos he would shoot were, it's like BDSM on steroids.
okay, I'm talking zip tides around necks, really vulgar, crude things, just barbaric behavior.
And that's not to shame anybody who's into BDSM, not at all. I get everybody has their fetish.
This was truly some sadist level type shit, okay?
He also self-published books, including a fictional story about a serial killer, who, by the way,
those methods reportedly resembled to some of the physical evidence that was later found by police.
So was this a fictional story about a serial killer?
or was this an autobiography? Who's to know? But his criminal history included drug and forgery charges,
fleeing to New Zealand under a stolen identity, a 1985 federal psychological evaluation that described him
as having bipolar and paranoid personality disorders, and also reports of him just being consumed by anger,
just this very hateful, spiteful man who had a very dark, sinister thoughts, and then executed.
those thoughts, either through film, still photography, or as we are coming to learn,
truly executing them in real life, not just this fictional serial killer novel that he wrote.
Now, during a 2009 raid on his Pennsylvania home, it uncovered a very large marijuana
operation. They also seized firearms, fake IDs that belonged to different, not only different
identities, but different federal identities, like government fake IDs. And ultimately, it sent him
away to prison. However, R.C. was released in 2013 at the age of 70, and he took permanent
residence at his Chew Avenue home until ultimately he died in May of 2025. But after his death,
his son Eugene took over that family home. And that's when everything appeared to spiral,
or at least start to now finally come to fruition or be exposed. Just three days after R.C. died,
a cigarette sparked a fire in Eugene's fiancé, Krista's bedroom. And I'm putting fiancee kind of, you know,
out there in very broad, loose quotes, because her friends and family said that Krista actually feared Eugene,
so I don't want it to sound like it was some sort of love story. But when the fire department
showed up and they started extinguishing the fire, police discovered guns and a marijuana grow operation,
which, remember, there had already been one years and years earlier. So Eugene ended up being thrown
in jail, but then was released a few weeks later. Then fast forward to August 16th, 2005, and Krista
died of a drug overdose. And that is when things really seemed to take a turn for Eugene.
Neighbors said that he became increasingly quiet. He seemed paranoid. And he was often seen
outside washing his black BMW. And this is where I also want to just recall back,
to the deep dive. I really do think that you need to listen to it, because there is so much backstory
between Eugene and Krista as well, what that dynamic was like. I'm just giving you kind of this
top line overview so that you can be fully caught up. Then in March of this year, Eugene was arrested
for allegedly stabbing a man over a dispute over a woman. The case later ended up being dismissed,
though, when the victim failed to appear. And Eugene was released in May after about two months in
jail. Then just a month later, on June 19th, Eugene ended up being pulled over in his car with a woman
in the passenger seat. And that traffic stop, it really became the catalyst for what we now know
could be one of the biggest potential serial killer cases of all time. And had this traffic stop not
happened, I don't think that we would have at all uncovered what we know now. I don't know that
we ever would. This is really, like I said, the catalyst that kind of broke things wide open.
because inside the BMW, they found two illegal handguns.
The handguns had tampered serial numbers.
So, you know, when people try to shave off the serial numbers or alter them so that they're not traceable, you can't track them, which, hi, you're only doing that if you have something shady going on.
And I'm not a firearms expert, but I would argue there's no other reason to manipulate a serial number on a gun unless you're trying to do some shady shit with it, right?
They also found about $8,000 worth of crack cocaine, heroin, marijuana.
They found a DEA badge and ID card with Eugene's photo, so him cosplaying as a DEA agent.
They also found a switchblade, a collapsible baton, a cattle prod, and other suspicious items,
which why someone has all of those items could not guess unless, again, there's some sort of deviant or sinister behavior.
but the fact that he had a fake DEA badge and also like these weapons, a ton of drugs, a cattle prod.
Not every day, do you see someone with that in the backseat of their beamer?
But just very alarming stuff.
Now, the woman that was with him, she was apparently carrying an ID that didn't belong to her.
It had the name Blair Tonzelli on it, yet it had her photo on it, which this was weird.
Like, why do you have a fake ID with someone else's name?
And sure enough, the name on this.
ID belonged to a missing woman. So this woman in the cars reportedly had told police that Eugene
had created this fake ID for her. So that prompted the investigators to revisit Blair's 2023
missing person's case because, okay, this man has now created a fake ID for this woman he's with
using a real life identity of a missing woman who went missing just a few years ago. What's going
on? We need to look into this. Like let's revisit the missing person's case, right? Well, apparently
in this case of Blair being missing, a friend had said that she was last seen at 417 West Chew Avenue,
which that is none other than the Horsh family home. And so that, of course, led police to Eugene's home.
Now, during the first search of the Chew Avenue home, which was that same day, police discovered a basement
that resembled something like Breaking Bad, but not nearly as high-tech or definitely not as clean. But there was
a chemical lab, a large quantity of chemicals, drums, additional firearms, a drug operation
estimated to be worth upwards of 250 grand. Just, again, something more than what meets the eye.
And I don't know if it was strictly a drug operation or if those chemicals also were used
to dispose of people, acid, different high burn rate chemicals, drums, which when I think of drums,
the Drew Peterson case and him allegedly, rolling my eyes allegedly, putting Stacey Peterson
in that, and disposing of her remains that way. It just, again, why does somebody own any of this?
No, you know, but no less, all of it. Investigators also excavated parts of the property,
and they examined a specific 55-gallon drum and underground piping. However, blood-like material
that was found inside was later determined not to be blood,
and the DNA testing that was also done at the scene
was not linked to Blair Tonzelli.
It didn't link to any evidence.
So you still have them excavating the property,
them finding these drums, underground piping,
potential blood substances,
but it ends up not being blood.
But like, the investigators were really scratching their heads here.
Like, what is this place?
What has been going on in here?
Because they also found around 100,
and 20 pieces of ballistic evidence.
They found the stuff connected to hidden compartments underground.
That 55-gallon drum actually was connected to water lines that led underground.
So there were these hidden compartments, hidden passageways, things like that that you
wouldn't necessarily expect to see in a run-of-the-mill home.
Security cameras, more fake IDs, another fake FBI badge in Eugene's name.
plus, in addition to the fake ID that had Blair's name on it, they found Blair Tonzelli's
bank card. They also discovered five urns that contained cremated remains, plus more than 10,000
pages of writings and drawings, including an unsigned note referring to zip ties, Ted Bundy,
harming people, a drum, and disposing of trash. Which that really reminded me of Rex Hewerman,
the Long Island serial killer, because if you're familiar with that case, you know that he kept
this almost like this diary or like murder for dummies 101 type notebook where he would write down
not only the supplies that he needed, but his game plan, how he was going to quote unquote
play with these victims. That's what he called it, this sick asshole. And here you have 10,000
pages of writings and drawings where there's references to zip ties, Ted Bundy, hurting people,
disposing of evidence where what does that look like? Again, maybe one thing isolated could be explained
away like, oh, he has chemical piping and a drum because now he's graduated from a marijuana
grow operation to a meth lab. Not still not okay, but like, okay, you could explain that away.
Well, then how do you explain the missing girls bank card and a fake ID in her name? How do you explain
firearms with the serial number shaved off? How do you explain five earners? How do you explain five earners?
with cremated remains. How do you explain security cameras and hidden passageways and hidden
compartments? I mean, and now writings about Ted Bundy and notes about how to hurt people. It's just like,
hello, the writing is on the wall, or in the notebook in this case, and it paints a very, very
disturbing and unsettling picture. They also seized about 50 electronic devices, including hard drives,
computers, USB drives, cameras, and phones. So by early July, an FBI task force was investigating
this Philly House of Horrors. And Eugene was federally indicted on firearm and fraudulent ID charges.
Now, this unsigned letter that was also found inside the home, where it had the writings of serial
killers and harming people and all of that, it was also included in the probable cause affidavit.
Although Eugene's attorney suggested that this note,
It might have actually been written by Eugene's father, R. C. Horsh, not Eugene himself.
And that it may have been a piece of fictional or creative writing, which, look, I get it.
I am in the true crime space as well.
I have had to research and write about a lot of weird and disturbing stuff.
Nothing like that that feels more like a handwritten journal entry that I'm then trying to describe or pass off as,
oh no, no, no, no, no, it's just creative fictional writing. Creative writing. It's all fiction.
No way. Sure enough, as all of this was unfolding, investigators then linked a second missing woman,
Amy McHale, to the scene and to this family. She had been married to R.C. Horsh, and she had been
missing since 2016, so 10 years, and they've now linked her to the property. So now you have two
missing women who were connected to this home. However, as we know now, that number was soon going to
change. Most of you already know that by the end of a long day, there is literally nothing on the planet
that I love more than crawling into my bed at literally 7 p.m., binging a show, and just like falling

In early August, right around the time that I did my first deep dive into this case, investigators ended up getting a major break because they recovered more than 600,000,
images and 70,000 videos, including evidence that allegedly showed additional victims,
Maribel and Gabrielle, who had been missing since 2018 and 2012.
And during in August 16th press conference, authorities confirmed that there were at least
four missing women connected to the house at this point. They also said that their families
had been notified, but no remains were recovered and no remains were found at the home.
They did discover those cremated remains and the urns.
However, I don't believe they were able to do accurate testing, obviously, to figure out who it belonged to, what was going on.
But at this point, they did connect these four missing women to the home.
So again, that's just a little bit of backstory to bring you current.
There is way more like an hour-long deep dive into that backstory, who these missing women were, how they were connected to Eugene and RC.
what transpired in RC and Amy's marriage that ultimately resulted in her disappearing back in 2016
and just a lot more detail. So highly encourage you to listen to that as well to get fully caught up with
like every single nitty-gritty detail. And now that you're caught up with all of that,
I want to go through the updates and all of the new information. So when I released that deep dive
back in August, the task force had executed 95 search warrants and they had only gone through about
to seven percent of the data on those electronic devices that they seized. On September 2nd,
Eugene's attorneys filed a motion seeking the return of his, you know, beloved black BMW, his
beamer, and court documents value the vehicle at up to $39,000. And his attorneys said that they
want to use its value to help cover the legal fees. That's why they're trying to recoup it. However,
investigators are still processing evidence from the vehicle as part of the ongoing case. So the car is
to remain impounded. Then, around September 10th, rumors began circulating online that the investigators
had uncovered videos that appeared to show R.C. Horsh strangling and killing a woman, videotaping it
for his own sick library. Which, remember, he had a very long history of being in the adult
film industry, but producing these very sadistic type films. And art, in his words, not mine,
and like these artsy, edgy photos.
So now that they're finding videos that appear to show him actually strangling and killing a woman,
I can't say I'm all that shocked.
I think there's probably plenty more where that came from.
And look at the history.
It's almost like publicly he did what he could get away with
or what was acceptable even in some group settings,
but really pushing the envelope, obviously,
and arguably doing way more,
that that was just kind of the sick hobby that he publicized,
but that there was obviously way more brewing below the surface.
The information was originally officially addressed by police during a press conference on September 16th.
And the police actually opened the press conference up with just how much digital evidence they are dealing with.
Investigators said that they had recovered around 1 million photos and videos by that point.
However, so far, they had only been able to review about 30% of that material.
Take a listen.
Numerous search warrants were conducted.
And we now know, and I know it's been reported, but over one million digital images were recovered.
And these digital images were on different hard drives, different flash drives, different items throughout the house.
The FBI helped us develop them. We have them.
What I could tell you when I say digital images, some are pictures, thousands and thousands of videos.
So we'll we are in a process and we'll talk more about that, about how we're doing that.
But these images go from anything from an emoji to videos that Mr. Horsh, R.C. Horsh, Eugene's father made,
and videos from inside the house, videos from other places.
There's tons of pictures of lots of people, women, posed in different positions,
within that house on Chu.
So that evidence is being analyzed as we go through.
So the press conference in total, although I just played a brief little clip for you,
It lasted around 30 minutes.
And the investigators, they dropped tons of new bombshells, including the fact that they recovered
images of missing women, the two missing women I mentioned earlier, Gabrielle and Maribel,
and that these photos of these missing women, they were taken inside the horse helm.
In the images, both women appeared to be unconscious.
They had visible injuries in these images.
And the metadata on the files dates it back to 2017.
So about nine years ago.
Now, neither of them, neither Gabrielle nor Maribel, have ever been found, and investigators have not recovered DNA from either woman inside the home.
So they still don't know exactly what happened to them.
However, finding this evidence of them being seemingly unconscious, lots of injuries, possibly having been tortured.
There's video and photo proof of this dating all the way back to 2007.
Fast forward now, nine years later, they still haven't been found. I'd say the argument is pretty
solid that they are no longer with us, right? Like something must have happened inside that house.
And maybe that's too much of me speculating. Tell me what you think. But I feel like it's one of
those situations where the writing's kind of on the wall. They also found another series of videos
from 2017 involving RC and another woman. And I want to give you a little bit of a trigger
warning here because I'm about to describe some very disturbing things that the investigators say
were captured in these videos. First, the woman on the video was identified as 27-year-old Nicole
for sorrow. She went missing back in 2018. Now, she was reportedly seen on the footage using
narcotics. And at some point, R.C. exchanged money with her. Or I should, maybe, you know,
the better way to describe that is he gave her money. Then she was later handcuffed to a bed.
Investigators said that R.C. used channel lock pliers and a zip tie around her neck until she became
unconscious and appeared to be lifeless. And I have to just pause here really quick because this also
mirrors a lot of what we already had heard of him doing, you know, his public work and film and all
of that where he would solicit sex workers and addicts off the street, give them money in exchange for
participating in his not snuff fill films, but I guess you could call them that. And so it seems
like that's what he was doing here, put on camera showing himself giving her money, then handcuffing her
to a bed, using channel lock pliers and a zip tie to really tighten around her neck until she
passes out. It's awful. And to date, Nicole's body has never been recovered. An investigator said that
they cannot yet prove that Nicole was murdered and no less murdered by R.C. Horsh, but that they need
additional evidence before they can connect that video to a homicide. So you have all of these where there's
smoke, there's fire type situations where it feels like, okay, it's pretty obvious what happened here.
All of these missing women who still haven't been found today were last seen on video or photo
evidence inside R.C. Horsh's home in very vulnerable, targeted situations.
obviously we know what happened. However, they don't have the evidence to prove that. Now,
is that because of all of the chemicals and the drums that are in this house, the disposal
of evidence, the urns with the cremated remains? Like, there is a reason why, and I want to be
careful with how I say this, there is a reason why I think these two men have gotten away with
what they've done for so long. I think that the cleanup,
was very careful for decades. And I'm going to talk more about that too in a little bit.
But as I said, Nicole's body still has never been recovered.
Investigators also found images of other women in what they describe as, quote,
similarly concerning circumstances. So now the investigation is primarily focused on seven
women who they have connected to the house.
35-year-old Blair Tonzelli, which Blair was last seen in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania back in August
of 2022. She was supposed to meet.
up with friends one afternoon, but she never showed up, and she was never heard from again.
She frequented the neighborhood of Kensington, and she did struggle with opioid addiction,
and she had been arrested for drug and sex worker charges. At the time of her disappearance,
she did associate with a man named Raymond, quote unquote, R.C., Raymond is the full name,
who lived in a local neighborhood and sold marijuana, which we know that he did have a marijuana
grow operation, right? So she would drop out of sight to go see him, and then
she would eventually return home. After her trip to see Raymond, though, in August of 2022,
she never returned home. And as Blair was estranged from her family, her friends are the ones
who ultimately reported her missing in February of 2023, after months had passed at that point
with having no contact with her. Then there is 28-year-old Maribel Freshess. Her information and
photo was found on the hard drive. Maribel was last seen at her boyfriend's home in the Kensington area
of Philadelphia sometime in June or July of 2018.
And like Blair, she had never been heard from again.
Investigators believe that she had been murdered.
Third, you have 44-year-old Amy McHale, who is also R.C. Horst's ex-wife.
Now, I told you she went missing back in 2016, right?
So on June 13th, 2016, Amy was last seen at Raymond's house.
The two of them had previously been married.
They were estranged now.
if they were officially divorced, I can't remember, but they were no longer together. However,
they remained close. Amy periodically would return to the home and see him, and apparently they had a
good friendship or relationship, whatever you want to call it. But Amy left her daughter a voicemail
saying that she was safe and that she was at Raymond's house. And it was the last communication
that her family ever received from her. And she never came home. Now, Raymond reportedly had told the
police that Amy had been drinking, that he went to bed and that when
she woke up, she was nowhere to be found. She was gone. Her mother and daughter spent years
searching for her, but Amy remained missing. Nobody was ever recovered either. And Raymond was never
publicly charged with a homicide or any sort of connection with her disappearance.
Then you have the fourth victim, 25-year-old Gabrielle Aramondo. She also was found on the
hard drive. That's how they discovered her. Gabrielle went missing back in 2012. Her mother later
said on social media that she had tried everything to help her daughter before her disappearance,
but she now believes that Gabrielle was murdered. Then going into our next victim, our fifth victim,
27-year-old Nicole Fissarro. She is the one who was seen being strangled on that video by R.C.
Horsh. Nicole had been missing since July 2018. She was last seen in Kensington, and after she
disappeared, her mother, Diane, spent years searching the streets of Philadelphia for her.
Nicole was her only child too.
Sadly, Diane died in January of 2020 without ever receiving any type of answers.
Nicole's father, Thomas, had already died back in 2009, leaving only her friends and a cousin
to continue searching and hoping that one day she would be found.
And now there's a sixth victim and a seventh victim.
The six woman who has been identified, but family has asked that her name not be released,
has also been tied to the Horsh family.
And the seventh woman, going now by a Jane Doe, has not yet been identified.
And look, this all happened in mid-August, right?
So a month and a half, almost two months ago.
The fact that they have already now tied seven missing women to these two men,
this father-son disgusting, tills-have-ey's-ass duo, in such a short window of time.
and they've only gone through a percentage of the electronic devices that were seized.
I think that is a clear illustration of just how many victims are probably to come.
It is so unnerving.
I literally have the chills right now thinking about it.
Now, altogether, police have identified, get this, 58 different people in the videos.
10 people have since died from overdoses that had happened later, away from.
the horse home, so not necessarily directly connected.
16 people have been identified, located, interviewed, alive, but investigators say that they
are not cooperating.
And three additional people contacted investigators themselves, but said that they would not
cooperate despite knowing that they appeared in these videos.
And I think from what I've seen online, I think that this angers a lot of people.
We talked a little bit about it last week in headline highlights.
You know, okay, you have what, six, seven, eight, 19 people.
out of the 58 who you've been able to track down, identify, and talk to, but they're refusing to cooperate.
Why?
When there are potentially so many more victims involved.
I think there's a variety of reasons of why that is happening.
I think that maybe some of them are still addicts, still sex workers, maybe don't are worried
that they're going to get in trouble or worried that there's going to be retaliation.
maybe a handful of them, if not hopefully, most of them, have cleaned up and are maybe now just
carrying a little bit of shame from what happened years ago. The fact that they were in these videos,
maybe they did accept money in exchange for participating in these videos. They don't want to
relive that. They want to just bury that piece of their life and their shame involved in that.
I don't think we can blame anybody for that either. I think there are a multitude of reasons as to why
they wouldn't want to cooperate. And until we get more answers as to what the relationship was,
what the content on the video was, I don't know. I don't think it's for us to judge their level of
participation or lack thereof just because you never know what somebody was going through
during that period of time and what they're going through now. And even if none of them
were willing participants, if some of them had been lured there or kidnapped in a
deducted there, then I could understand not wanting to revisit that traumatic time in your life as well
and not wanting to go back to that. So I don't know if there could be a lot of reasons. But investigators
believe that there are still 25 living people in these videos who they want to speak with. They are
working to identify them and they are working to interview. So take a listen to this.
58 people were identified in these images that we've seen. So,
four of them as we said that were identified appear to be lifeless one of them we have a video of what may have happened to her the other one is is not identified so it's not counted here 10 we know overdosed later on way after the video was done but they were found somewhere else in a different residence in a different place in Philadelphia not at Chu street 16 of them that we seen in various states we found and we interviewed not very cooperative they don't
really want to talk about what occurred in that house they're not telling us a lot
about what occurred but they were there and now they were able to be interviewed
there's 25 people that we know are now alive that we're scheduling interviews
with but again they were seen in various states and we're just not sure you know
what they were doing when they were in there so there were also three people that
called that said you're going to see images of us but we're not coming in to
talk to you and we're you know we're not coming back so
there's a lot going on, and we really only looked at a very small amount of video, as the
SAC will explain to you. There is thousands and thousands of videos that need to be gone through.
Now, there's also the physical evidence in all of this. As I mentioned, investigators recovered
five urns from the home, which those have now been sent out for testing, but at the time of
this recording, we haven't heard back yet if anything is a match to any of the missing women,
or if it's somebody completely unbeknownst to the investigation, we don't know.
But the FBI says that there is still an enormous amount of physical evidence that has to be processed.
But it's going to be one item at a time.
Authorities also said that they expect to execute way more search warrant soon, meaning that investigators will be
returning to that house to see what else they can find.
Because remember, hidden compartments, chemicals, underground plumbing, all of these things.
It's a lot to go through.
Those searches are going to be guided by DNA and labeling results that they've received, along with
information that is pointing them toward other areas of the home that they know that they want to
examine. So as frustrating as it is that we don't have all of the answers right now and that there
are still a lot of unanswered questions, they're kind of just asking for patients. Like,
look, this is a very complex case. There is a lot of information. There is a lot to sift through.
We're doing our best. But there's a massive amount of evidence that we have to piece together
so that we can figure out exactly what happened inside that house. And that is going to take a lot of time.
You guys know how crazy my schedule gets.
And sometimes, you know, between recordings, I just need like coming quick, something easy,
something that's going to like make me feel good, but also help me hit my protein goals
because I finally now later in life realize protein is very, very important.
And that is what I love about David protein bars.
And my husband Jeremiah, who is like a crazy runner and like a protein fanatic, he loves them too.
So I feel like his sign off gives me a good sign off.
But their gold bars have 28 grams of protein.
only 150 calories and zero sugar.
And the best part, they actually taste like a sweet little treat.
They are soft, doughy, they have these delicious little chunks and crispy pieces throughout.
It's so good.
I love having one on hand, just like in my bag when I'm running between recordings and need something filling.
And now you can find David at Walmart stores nationwide and on walmart.com.
Their salted peanut butter one is so good.
It is my absolute favorite.
So don't just take my word for it.
Go grab one for yourself.

can you zoom it on the zipper? Can you show me that up close? And get all of the information
before actually buying. Plus, there are incredible deals on everything from makeup to designer handbags.
And I recently found, I'm going to probably date myself, but I remember when Dooney and Burke

additional link to another scumbag we have talked about on this channel before and or on this
podcast depends on where you're listening, YouTube or podcast. And I misspoke last week in headline
highlights. For some reason, when I heard the name, I thought serial killer. He's not a serial
killer that we know of, but still just as scummy of a person. But let me let me backtrack. I think
I'm getting a little bit ahead of myself. Obviously, we have a lot of questions right now, right?
including whose remains are inside those five urns. However, in the deep dive I did back in August,
I talked about how one of those urns could potentially belong to Eugene's alleged fiancé Krista.
This is based on posts that Eugene himself made online. As far as I know, Eugene didn't have a
social media account, not one of his own anyway. So he ended up announcing Krista's death on her
Facebook page. He wrote, please let everyone know that we were in love and we were going to get
married. However, Krista's friends, as I mentioned earlier in this episode, they disputed both of those
claims. They said that Krista was scared of Eugene. And when they asked Eugene about a funeral, he reportedly
told them that Krista had already been cremated. So based on what we know, it is possible that one of those
five urns contains Krista's remains. However, the testing again has not come back, so we don't know for
sure. But there's also this very creepy Google review that Eugene allegedly posted about Philadelphia
cremations, a crematorium. And I talked about this in the deep dive, but in the review, he wrote,
they are very caring and easy to talk with and handle arrangements. The process was done quickly,
and her remains were sent to a local funeral home, though it was on the other side of the city
from where I live, and it took an hour to get there with traffic. But it was during morning hour
rush. Other than that, they were great to deal with.
and the cost was the lowest available
without all of the unnecessary overhead.
Her remains came in a decent black plastic temporary urn.
I had already purchased a marble urn for her myself,
and I just transferred the ashes to it easily,
as they were in a plastic bag inside the urn.
I was upset and a mess at the time,
and they made the process easy for me,
which I am appreciative of.
I appreciate it greatly,
and I would give them a 10 out of 10.
Now, look, I'm not one who leaves a lot of Google reviews,
or Yelp reviews or anything like that.
And while I do see some good reviews out there when I research businesses,
I do feel like more times than not people take to the review section when they have a grievance
or they want to air dirty laundry and they just want to bitch and complain.
I think that's why the term Karen was even created.
But writing a review for a crematorium, that's already a little bit strange in my book.
But also the fact that he like was saying, you know, it was great.
even though it was an hour away, but don't worry, it was the morning rush hour, this and that,
like all of these added anecdotes that don't really need to be in there, in my opinion, but whatever.
But things are about to get even more bizarre, okay?
Because there is another connection to a cremation company, and this one is even creepier.
Years before police began investigating the missing women connected to R.C.
Horish, he reportedly appeared at a Kensington Art Gallery in 2014 and presented what appeared to be
autopsy photos of an unidentified woman. Now, the exhibition ended with a video showing the woman's
body being loaded into an incinerator, and R.C. claimed that the footage was filmed at a Kensington
warehouse, where the city morgue allegedly sent unidentified remains. But in a release promoting
this exhibition, R.C. reportedly wrote that the medical examiner had, quote, botched the autopsy,
and that his photograph was all that remained of this woman, who, according to him,
had no name and no other trace of her existence.
Now, I will say this, R.C. was known to fabricate or embellish stories for his quote-unquote
artwork, but a local news outlet followed up on this claim. And people familiar with that
period of his life said he did, in fact, have access to a Kensington crematorium that was
connected to the Garzone funeral home, which ended up later being shut down over the illegal
sale of human body parts. And that is so distinctions.
disturbing to me because what do you mean a funeral home where bodies go and people take their loved
ones ends up getting shut down because they are selling human body parts. It takes a really
dirtbag human being to try to make money off of somebody's loved one or just off the sale of a
human body as it is. It is so disgusting and like I'm sure some of them were Jane Does. Well, and I actually
now that I say that out loud, I don't even know how that works necessarily. If there is a Jane Doe
that is found, I don't think they're sent to a funeral home. I think funeral homes only exist
for people who want to go through the process of planning a service or getting a casket and getting
the body in visibly good condition if it's open casket. And I don't know, maybe I don't know enough
about funeral home. So if you work for one or if you know personally, please let me know and
educate me. But if that is true, that means that they were shut down for selling human body
parts of belonging to people who loved ones brought them in. Like that is so twisted and
disturbing. And it takes someone who is capable of like true evil in my eyes. I cannot wrap my head
around it. Now, according to the local news report, the owners, Lewis and
Gerald had operated the crematorium under Liberty cremations, and they pleaded guilty back in 2008
to selling more than 240 bodies to a biomedical tissue company. The bodies were illegally
stripped for bones, tendons, organs, and then later those were organs and bones and tendons were
sold to hospitals. So it's almost like you have two transactions, right? You're selling the body,
they're taking the body, they're stripping their remains, then they are selling it.
and profiting off that once they sell it to the hospitals.
Some of that tissue was reportedly infected with disease
and then transplanted into patients without even having their knowledge.
Authorities seized the crematorium and the funeral home as part of the criminal case.
And a woman who worked with R.C. on several of his films bragged about having access to the
crematorium through an employee named, quote, George, whom apparently he allegedly paid with drugs.
So again, you just have this exchange of money, drugs, addiction, sadomasochism, selling body parts, like something that is out of American horror story.
Something that's so unbelievable to even wrap your mind around the fact that that exists in this world.
And look, I know there is a lot of really awful horrific things that exist in this world.
but sometimes it almost feels stranger than fiction.
And I have covered a lot of strange cases, right?
A lot of disturbing cases.
So when something irks me, that is saying a lot.
This person also said that R.C. filmed a movie scene inside the crematorium.
Because why not, right?
It's the perfect backdrop for all of this disgusting stuff.
So Gerald, who was the owner or operator of this crematorium, said that he had
never heard of R.C. And that he knew nothing about bodies being photographed at the business. However,
he did acknowledge knowing a man named George from the neighborhood, but he declined to say
whether or not he had employed him. But if you remember, there was this reported employee named
George who allegedly paid with drugs and was involved in all of this. However, four people
familiar with R.C. and the Garzone's operation identified this George employee as George Newsom.
a Kensington resident who lived about a block away from the crematorium.
He was arrested for heroin possession back in 2011 and cocaine possession in 2013,
and then he died in 2014, according to his obituary.
So just kind of think about that for a second.
Through all of this evidence, police still haven't recovered any bodies.
But what they have found is videos showing women who appear to be alive and then later deceased.
Also, a strange network of water and sewer pipes beneath the property
that investigators have excavated.
They have found unidentified substances
that they sent to the lab for testing.
Five cremation urns.
Videos of cremations that R.C. presented as art,
but documenting his process of cremating remains.
And now a connection to a crematorium
that was previously tied
to the illegal sale of human body parts.
What is going on here?
And I know I already alluded to this a little bit
about the other scum bag I talked about,
on this podcast in the past, but this is where I want to dive into it, because all of those pieces
now fitting together really have people wondering whether there could be a larger connection
to Jonathan Gerlach. I covered Jonathan's case a few months ago on this podcast. So if you haven't
heard that episode or seen that episode, I'll also link that in the show notes for you. But since I
want to keep these cases separate for now, I want to give you the Cliff Notes version rather than like
diving into the true mess and disaster of that man. But basically, Jonathan Gerlach, you may have
also seen him on your social media. He is like one scary-ass-looking human being. He's a 34-year-old
man from Pennsylvania who was accused of stealing human remains from Mount Moriah Cemetery and
then selling the remains online. Following his arrest, investigators reportedly uncovered more
than 100 sets of human remains, including skulls, mummified hands and feet, long bones, and
multiple intact corpses. Some were reportedly found hanging from his basement ceiling. And look,
I get some people out there have weird-ass memorabilia and serial killer memorabilia,
which I'll never understand. And like the auctions of like Manson stuff or Bundy stuff and people
like bidding on this, I will literally never understand the fanfare around it. However, to have
intact corpses just suspended from your basement ceiling, are you out of your mind? Like,
what is going on here? And let me see, actually, I know we're going to put one on the screen
actually, but I just want to pull up his face really quick for reference. Because when you look
at him, R.C. Horst, Eugene Horch, the whole gamut.
it. It is so scary. I'm going to just like show the screen right here. And he, I will be honest,
even though he looks scary, he doesn't look as scary as R.C. and Eugene. I know I've made a lot of
Hills have eyes references. And I'm sorry, I don't mean to beat a dead horse. But like,
that's the only way I know how to describe them. That or what's his name from Goonies, Sloth,
or whatever. Or if you've seen the Odyssey, the Cyclops, like that's so fucked up as I'm
saying that out loud. But like,
honestly, that is what they look like. And it's so scary. It sends a chill down my spine just
looking at photos of R.C. and Eugene. And I said this in last week's headline highlights that
the fact that these two guys were like gallivanting out there with a fake DEA badge and FBI badge
and possibly using that to pose as law enforcement to lure some of these victims. Like,
I get you're an addict and you're probably under the influence. But if any sober person was seeing this
person walk up to you and identify themselves as like a government official. It's laughable
because of how freaking terrifying they look. And I know Cyclops from Odyssey is like a giant.
But like, and honestly, now that I'm saying that out loud, I don't even care that I'm shading
R.C. But maybe the reason Cyclops came to me is because in his picture, he's like this.
I wish you could see me from my audio listeners. He literally has one eye open. So maybe that's why like
intuitively. I'm just thinking of the
Cyclops. But like, scary-ass
people. And Jonathan Gerlach, he looks
scary, but like more in a Wade
Wilson psychopath, sociopathic type of way.
Not in a
inbred
hills have eyes living in the mountains type
way, like the Horsh family. But anyway,
so this guy, Jonathan Gerlack,
34 years old,
was stealing all these human remains.
He was caught with over
100 sets and he had these like
corpses hanging from his basement like, I don't know, like you would hang a pig or a duck in a
restaurant window. I don't know. I don't know if that even happens. Well, I know it does in different
countries, but like, what else do you hang from your wall? Like, the beads when you enter a
doorway, like, I don't know what else to compare it to. Okay. So as of right now, there isn't a confirmed
connection between Jonathan and the House of Horrors investigation. But given the timeline,
it is certainly possible, given the fact that they were all in Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, born and raised, all that stuff. Not born and raised, but I'm just singing the fresh print song. But like all within the same area, the timeline overlaps, considering the location, and that Jonathan was also arrested in January of this year, just months before the horse investigation became public, I think that there is some sort of possibility. And maybe not that they were even working together. I mean, possibly. But,
surely that they probably like rubbed shoulders with one another, I would imagine, because if you have
the horse family who is cremating people on video streams and getting rid of evidence from
missing women who I believe they murdered, you have a funeral home that is illegally selling body
parts. You now have this guy who was stealing human remains from a cemetery and then also
getting rid of some of them and selling them online. They're all in the same location. I don't think that
that's it's such a common thing that happens to where they wouldn't have rubbed shoulders with one
another? Like how many funeral homes are selling human remains? How many people are stealing
human remains? How many people are cremating human remains when it's not a loved one dying and
when it's to cover up something? So what is the connection here? And I'm curious to know if that will be
confirmed. Again, they've only gone through a percentage of the evidence like how big does this
operation go and where is the overlap? I can't imagine that there are two totally, or three,
totally separate entities operating in a very similar way in the same location without being
connected somehow, unless like, that's just how people roll in Pennsylvania, which,
sorry for any of my Philly listeners, that scares me if that's the case. I used to have to go out
to Philly for work quite often when I lived in New York, and I always thought it was a great place,
but I don't know if this is what happens on the street corners and if it's so common,
maybe it is a little scary, but that's my point. I don't think it is. I think that there is
some sort of entanglement here. They're intertwined somehow. I feel like most of you know that I am
all about skin care and hair care, but something that I never thought about until the last several
months was that the water I was using in the shower every single day was not only damaging my hair,
but it was also like making my skin not the best. And I saw Joel Lee showerheads all over my
TikTok feed for literal years, and then I decided to finally try it. Let me tell you, I'm like kicking
myself. I don't even know why I waited so long. Jolie is a filtered showerhead designed to remove chlorine
and heavy metals that can damage your skin and hair. And honestly, it's such an upgrade. It's
installs in minutes. I did it myself, which hello, I am like definitely not handyman savvy.
But it's so easy to install. The water pressure is amazing. And the showerhead is so sleek and
modern looking, it feels like you're in a luxury spa. I love that I'm not adding yet another
complicated step to my routine. I'm just making the water that I'm already using better for my
skin and hair. Try Jolie risk-free for 60 days by going to Jolese skinco.com slash A.E. That's
Jolie Skinco.com slash A.E. Jolie is also available on Amazon and Costco, both online and in store.
Now, as for the 20 unknown substances that were sent to a Chicago lab for testing, some forensic experts are
now weighing in. And a lot of people are wondering whether that note that was left and found
that mentioned garbage disposals combined with the strange network of pipes that the investigators
have been focusing on and excavating and all of that, if that could somehow have something to do
with how the bodies were disposed of. And I think I mentioned that earlier in the episode.
I believe maybe there was a drug operation happening, sure, but to have all of these chemicals
to lay underground piping, to have hidden compartments,
to have so many missing women,
and not having their remains found,
I think that there is an argument to be had
that that was used to dispose of these bodies
aside from the crematorium.
I mean, maybe they burned some in the crematorium.
Maybe they, I don't want to say dissolved,
but I guess that is the word,
like broke down the bodies of others.
Who really knows? Or maybe the chemicals is to get rid of the evidence and the crematorium was to get rid of the bodies. Who really knows? But experts do say that chemicals like lie can break down a human body over time, particularly if the body had been cut apart, eventually reducing it to a liquid or a sludge type substance. They could potentially be poured down a drain, which that is so disgusting to even think about. And we know the investigators do appear to be taking the plumbing of this house.
very seriously. Based on the more DNA-focused searches of the house that are set to take place
later this month, it's really not unusual for forensic investigators to sometimes remove entire
bathtubs, walls, flooring, tiles, all so they can examine tiny fragment pieces of evidence.
So I think we're just scratching the surface here. I think there is going to be so much more exposed,
but again, rather than waiting, I wanted to just kind of jump on here and like let you know
everything that's going on. And I don't know why I'm like saying that as though we're
wrapping up the episode because there's still so much more to talk about. Experts have said
that even when they do recover something, determining whether it's actually human tissue or not,
that can be extremely difficult. And it takes incredibly slow work. So I don't know when we will
receive that update. But on top of everything that the investigators are looking at,
RC's 50-year career in the dark arts, I will call it. It's obviously making.
things a lot more complicated. One of the biggest challenges is figuring out whether those images
that they recovered were in fact fiction, part of some sort of performance, or if they are
evidence of actual crimes. And now that this case has grabbed national attention, much of RSI's work
has reportedly been pulled off of Amazon and from other online retailers. However, that, of course,
has only made people more curious. And clips from RSI's films and even old interviews have now
started resurfacing online, including a clip that I'm going to play for you here. It's a little bit
challenging to hear if you're only listening to the audio. So I would encourage you to pop on over
to YouTube after this to watch it. But it's a clip that is from, I'm guessing, the 80s or the 90s
based on the clothing and the cars and the haircuts. I think that it's probably an intro from one of
his sicko films that he did. But don't worry, everybody in this clip, they are fully clothed.
There is no inappropriate language, but it is interesting seeing something dating back to when all of this was going on.
So let me play that for you here.
Let's take a walk.
No matter where we go, there's people.
I think we're both getting a little anxious.
Yeah.
So we're going to head back to the base and finish up there.
No discussion.
Do you back in the law?
Yep.
Yeah.
We'll catch in a few minutes.
Just gross.
Gross, gross, gross.
Now, the next clip that I'm about to play
appears to be from much later in his life,
since he's wearing the eye patch and his hair is completely gray.
But in this clip, he seems to justify his work
and also the exploitation of women.
And he could be seen just walking around Kensington,
which I'm going to play that for you here.
But again, my audio listeners, go check it out on YouTube.
If a woman has any business sense or any savvy whatsoever,
she can she can she can she can manage her own business place place her own
and keep it and keep it all for herself to me what's demeaning is someone for example
that I know very well with a law degree working in an office and being a coffee
gopher that is demeaning is it's demeaning to
It's demeaning to flip burgers for, you know,
$7 or $8 an hour or something like that.
I mean, if you talk about exploitation,
prostitution or sex work comes pretty far down the list.
There are a lot of people on welfare working minimum wage jobs
who are like totally relentlessly, horribly exploited all the time.
Not saying that a part
prostitute can't or isn't exploited, but it's sex work is like any other work, any other industry.
It's a continuum. It's a, it's a spectrum.
Oh, no, I don't. Sorry.
That's asking for a light. It could be someone asking for a light, but it's also, in that case, an opening for a,
to start a conversation. That said, not every woman in Kensington is a prostitute.
Sometimes even in Kensington, a woman standing on a street corner actually is waiting for the bus.
So on September 22nd, Eugene was supposed to appear in court for his federal gun case.
However, that hearing has now been postponed, with his next court date scheduled for March 22nd, I believe.
leave. Now, according to court records, the delay is partially due to a busy trial schedule and his
attorneys needing additional time to prepare the case. However, just when I thought that there was
nothing left to update you on, right as I was about to press record on today's episode,
photos were released from R.C.'s other home, his home, which was seized by the government back in
2009. Now, the photos were taken back in 2010, and it was after investigators had cleared the home and
then it went into foreclosure. The man who took them was brought in to secure and clean the
property so that it could be turned over and sold, right? You want to go in, clean it up, you want to
take good photographs so that you can list the property and hopefully get some buyers. You don't want
it looking like, you know, a war zone. And he said that the home when he went in, it wasn't just
filthy. It was sickening. Before he could even start cleaning, he said he had to photograph everything
to protect himself from liability. The photos of this home, it reminds me,
of BTK, Long Island serial killer.
Who's the one, the cop, the guy who posed as the cop and would photograph?
Oh, what, who is that?
He would, it wasn't BTK, it was, um, who was that?
The cop who would bind women and photograph them?
This is going to bug me.
I know, I'm sorry, I'm going to search it really quick because you're probably yelling the
answer at your screen or at your car right now.
Who is the cop?
or was he a naval official who broke into women's homes,
women's homes, stole underwear and photoed them?
And I remember, I remember, God, I can't type.
Look at me, I can't multitask.
I remember there being a lifetime movie about him.
Russell Williams, yes, Russell Williams,
the Canadian military colonel who broke into women's homes, stole their underwear, and then photographed himself wearing it.
And his crimes ended up escalating to sexual assault and murdering two women.
And maybe you know now that I have said that, who I'm talking about, or maybe you knew it all along.
But when I saw these photos, it reminded me of like those types of cases.
Because in the photos, it shows piles of wigs, women's underwear, a box of sex toys, anatomically correct mannequins.
I'll let you be the decipher that and, you know, weird accessories.
But what he said disturbed him the most was a plaster mold of a body with a knife sticking out of its back.
So, I don't know, maybe from my original deep dive when I made the comparison in this case to the movie Silence of the Lambs,
maybe I wasn't too far off.
Again, I really think you need to go listen to the deep dive because there is so much more disturbing detail that I lay out.
but could these have been movie props for his films?
Yes.
Could it have been other weird, sick, sick, depraved behavior type stuff?
Probably, I think it all goes hand in hand.
It's disgusting.
And the pictures I also will share on the screen for my YouTube viewers.
Now, as of today, Eugene has not been charged with any homicide or in any connection with any of the missing women.
However, as we know, that can always change as this investigation continues.
news. So that's what I've got for you today. But because they have gone through so little of the
evidence, I didn't want to wait until they went through all of it because we probably wouldn't be
then talking about this case until next year. So here's what I think. I think that maybe this is going
to become a series. I think I'll probably have a part three, part four, where I'm not always giving
the backstory or revisiting it because I know that a lot of you who do listen every single week,
that's probably ultra annoying for you. But maybe I'll do a playlist of sorts and this will just become
a series where I keep updating you as we learn more so that you can follow it all until, you know,
we get to whatever resolution there is. Hell, maybe there will even be a part 10 at this point.
But I do again, highly, highly, highly encourage you. No, I'm not even going to encourage you. I'm going to
give you homework. You are getting homework right now. Go listen to that full deep dive. I'm going to
make it super easy for you. It's going to be linked right at the top of these show notes. Go listen
because if you think today's episode was disturbing, this was a level two.
on a scale of 1 to 10, that deep dive with everything we go into was a level 8 or 9.
Okay?
So go listen.
It gives you all the backstory, all the lore.
This is the part 2 follow up.
And we will see when part 3 happens.
Probably I would imagine in the next few weeks.
Man, not next few weeks.
Maybe four to six weeks.
I don't know, actually, because the hearing's been moved out.
I don't know.
As they're going through evidence, we will see when more information comes out.
That is what I've got for you today.
let me know what you think. Do you think it's all connected? Do you think it's connected with
Jonathan Gerlach as well? I also will link that episode for you, which is equally disturbing.
And actually, it's disturbing. It's not equally disturbing as the deep dive. The deep dive is more
disturbing, but they're both disturbing. God, how many times can you say disturbing? Say disturbing five times
fast, Annie. All right, that's what I've got for you today. So with that, I am going to go try to
get into a mentally sound place. And I will say this. Be nice. Don't kill people.
don't steal and sell body parts and don't be a hills have eyes sicko freak with a demented
sick ass hobby okay we'll leave it there all right thank you so much i will talk with you soon
bye
