Welcome back to another episode of Balancing Act with me and Luke.
Hi honey.
In real time.
Travel, travel, travel, travel.
Too much travel.
So much.
We're in Indiana.
Unexpected, unfortunate trip, but we are here about to hit the road
back to Colorado.
Yes.
Luke had an unfortunate untimely death in the family, his beautiful, wonderful grandmother,
and I am extremely grateful that I had the opportunity to not only meet her, but to get
to spend some quality time with her, especially our last trip here just a few weeks ago.
That made me really happy. It was a great trip.
But deaths are very difficult, and she was a lovely,
hilarious, just super cool lady.
Just so humble and always put herself last,
and put everyone else first.
Wonderful lady. She's at peace now.
I think there was, I don't know, a lot of anxiety
and things, you know, leading up to a funeral.
Funeral is really closure.
It's the time that, at least for me,
I feel is the time you truly get to say goodbye.
And ideally know that she's at peace
and the family is finding more peace,
knowing she is not in pain anymore and she's back with her husband,
back with my grandpa.
Yeah. See, that's the beautiful part and the beautiful way to look at it.
And I will say on this trip, so Luke and I don't fight a lot, guys,
and I don't mean that in a way that's saying that we're perfect,
but I think that we really do work on communication.
And I really think a lot of that has to do
with Luke's patience, his incredible patience
with my mood swings.
And I just feel feelings really hard as I'm sure all
of you know that if you watch, you know,
watch Dvanderpump, if you watch The Valley,
if you follow me on social media,
I'm very honest and outward with all of my feelings and that can be kind of intense at times.
But something that I think we both learned this trip was, you know, finding out that
his grandmother passed away.
My immediate thought is, I have to go to Indiana.
I have to be there for him.
This is what I'm meant to do, especially now that I'm wearing this ring
on my finger and this is the man that I'm actually truly going to marry in real life
because he asked me to, which I'm still giggly about. But in, you know, that just in my mind,
that's sort of the way it works. I didn't know truly if I should have come, especially
at the time. I didn't know if I wanted to. And knowing Luke, I kept thinking to myself,
maybe it isn't right for me to go.
And maybe this is just a time for Luke to be with his family.
But then I felt all this extreme inner guilt
that if I were to express it that way,
what if that hurt his feelings?
But on Luke's side of things.
From my perspective, I agreed.
We have, as everyone knows, trying to start a family at the same time.
And recently, Kristen's last ovulation,
we took an additional step to give us a better chance of conceiving.
And I didn't want Kristen to stress out.
And I'll just say I was too passive in suggesting that she didn't need to come.
That if it's going to stress her out, I'd rather her not come.
And really, you just didn't want me to come. But I'm not offended by that.
Like, this is the kind of, I think, what the point that you and I got to
and finally communicated in a conversation about it was like,
and I mean this in the kindest way possible, so I hope,
as listeners, you're not taking this any other way,
but like, he didn't really want me to be here,
and I didn't think I needed to be here.
But we didn't communicate that to each other clearly enough,
at least in my opinion.
It's a problem.
It's an issue of both of us trying to be too nice.
I didn't want to tell her, I don't want you here
because who wants to say that to their fiance
when they're going through something
and Kristin didn't want to suggest
that she didn't want to come because of that.
And so that was a lapse in our communication.
Doesn't happen often, but it happened here
and it led to a fight with unfortunate timing and...
It was just a perfect storm of a lot of emotions.
And I'm grateful that we got through it
and that we, you know, once the emotions calmed down a bit
and both of our logic was higher,
that you were honest with me,
that you did tell me that so that I could say that back.
And we were like, okay.
So now moving forward,
we have to just be a little more bluntly honest about things.
You know? And I trust that.
Because I know even if you were blunt with me,
it wouldn't come with any malice or like,
you trying to hurt my feelings.
Right. And to set the scene a little better for the stress
and how stress is the number one thing we're trying to hurt my feelings. Right, and to set the scene a little better for the stress and how stress is the number one thing
we're trying to avoid for Kristen.
The weekend prior to Kristen going to Las Vegas,
which we'll get to that, we were in Michigan,
Renaissance Fair, Kristen's mother's birthday,
all these flights.
Then we get back, have a few days, a lot to do.
Kristen then flies to Vegas.
I drive to Colorado.
I find out on the way my grandma has passed. Kristen has a few days, a lot to do. Kristen then flies to Vegas. I drive to Colorado, I find out on the way my grandma has passed. Kristen
has a few days there, flies back to California. And from knowing
Kristen, and we talk multiple times every day, obviously, even
when we're not together. I know she's already stressed. She's
been too stressed leaving Michigan. She was stressed about
going to Las Vegas. She was stressed when she got home from
Vegas. And I'm just like, I needed to be more direct ultimately in that feeling,
knowing that she wasn't going to be here and be relaxed in this situation.
And ultimately we were both a ball of stress and yeah, wasn't ideal.
But let's move on from that.
We're good now.
Yeah, we're good now.
And I'm not such a crazy ball of stress at the moment.
Just a slight pain in the ass.
So just, yeah, just to kind of tag on what you're saying, Luke, it literally was in the
last four weeks, it's been five trips, which is just including you because when I was in
Vegas and you went to Colorado before I met you in Colorado. And five trips that was, I think, 10 or 12 flights with like layovers and changing of planes and whatnot. That is
a lot. And it's a lot in general, but it's a lot, especially when I, as Luke was saying,
you know, taking our next step, pumping myself full of hormone shots, just made me a crazy
person. I was crying, I was laughing, I would laugh
and it made me cry.
And for me personally, when I mean, obviously, Kristen and I are going to get married. So
I know these things about Kristen, but we haven't, we've experienced, we've experienced
the loss of a pet, but a loss of a family member is a different thing. And I know that that is a place that I, um, I guess the most vulnerable and like weakest
in maintaining my stoicism or just being calm and being able to calm Kristen down and that
sort of thing.
I knew that I needed support, but Kristen was at a time with just absolutely pumped
full of hormones that it's hard to fault somebody that has been,
yeah, literally injected with mass amounts
of a mood altering substances.
So it all came together in a poor way, so.
Yeah, but to give credit to you,
like you've been there for me absolutely nonstop,
super patient,
readily available to catch my mood swing, whichever way it landed. But, you know,
this at this moment in time in your life, that really wasn't your job anymore, because some things
are just a little more important than others. And your family is that. So that's what has been going on for the most part. Now we get to breathe a little bit.
We're about to jump in the car, head back to Colorado where Luke is going to spend
some actual time working on his house, working on his property. I'm excited to actually get
to go to Colorado and spend a couple of days there before heading back home.
And see my progress on the cabin.
I'm so excited. And then when I go back home, I'm going to decorate our house for freaking
Halloween. I'm so excited. And can I tell you how lovely it is? So you guys, I'm not such a big
meet my neighbors kind of gal. I'm a social person, but sometimes I just like to keep to myself. I don't really like small
talk. Sometimes I just get really uncomfortable. And I shout out to our neighbor, Sarah, because
we did get to meet Sarah and part of her family that is one of our neighbors. And since we've
been gone, Sarah has been going over to our house when she sees packages delivered. And then she like sends us a little text
and does a little dance on our ring camera.
Like, I got your packages for you.
And it's gonna make me emotional.
I just think it's like so kind and so lovely
for people to just be that nice.
Just to like take a moment out of their day to notice it.
Oh, you have packages.
I don't want them to get stolen.
Cause you know, we have those little Amazon thieves running around. So just shout out to my neighbor,
Sarah.
And you know, Kristin, and I think everyone that listens to this podcast knows that I
have had a problem finding my crew finding a community in Los Angeles. Just seems like
people are a little more sour generally down the street walk the dog say good morning and
they look away or look at you funny like why are you talking to me? And it's just,
it's not that I like meeting people. I like having neighbors like back here in Indiana.
I have a tight group of friends and it's not that small. There's like 10, 12 of us all
within the neighborhood that would do anything for each other. Obviously outside of leaving
work, you know, you're not going gonna get fired over something for your friends,
but we like to hang out.
Any given Taco Tuesday, someone's making tacos
and says, hey, if anyone wants to come over,
we made extra tacos,
and it's just a fun, awesome community thing.
If you're out of town, someone's gonna get your mail.
That's what I'm used to.
That's what I grew up with.
And to finally be finding that in California is so great.
I agree.
I mean, it is the way I was raised too in the Midwest.
But yeah, since I've lived in L.A., it's never been something that I've had.
And you know, I've been confused, been like, we have all your friends here.
Why can't you just have someone else watch your dog?
Why can't you have somebody come and grab your package?
To be fair, last time when we did go to Michigan,
Brittany offered to go pick up my packages.
Jax helped me out with our packages.
And that was something that was just like offered to me.
And something I feel, I don't know why Brittany lives
five minutes down the road, but you know, she has Cruz
and Cruz has a lot going on right now
with all of his different classes and school and sports.
And I'm just like, man, I don't know how much time Brittany has
to just be like swinging over my house picking up packages.
But she offered and she did it for us.
And that was, that was really dope.
Jax was going over to see Cruz and anytime he'd ask if there were more packages when
we were in Michigan.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
When we were in Michigan.
And so Jax was really helpful with that and they stayed at Brittany's house.
Kristen went and got them as soon as she got back.
And yeah, it's nice.
It's definitely giving me more peace in Los Angeles.
Yeah.
And now we get to decorate our big front yard
and our awesome house with Halloween decorations.
I got so much stuff.
I have, I'm not like crazy like Brittany,
where I'm like, my theme for Halloween is,
but I feel like a theme is coming on
with all of the things I've been gathering and
then gonna go through like my Halloween boxes, but it's gonna be real cute.
I love a good theme.
I love it.
I love dressing up.
You know this.
I do.
I already have my Halloween costume.
Shout out to Brit for helping me come up with the idea.
Well, she really kind of threw it in my lap and said, you should do this because this
would be something that's so you.
Not gonna tell you guys what it is yet.
But do you have my Halloween costume yet?
No. So Luke doesn't know what he wants to be.
And it's, you know, it's hard.
Like, do you want to be a couple's costume?
If you do, I already told you what I think you should be.
But you're your own man. You can be anything you want.
Right. But you know, I'm the kind of man that would rather be told
or suggested certain things for Halloween.
That's just not the part of my brain that I get enjoyment out of, like, flexing.
Oh, how do I want to look this year for Halloween?
Who do I want to dress up like?
I mean, if someone throws out a couple suggestions or options,
I'll say, you know, I'd rather do this over that.
But ultimately...
Your psycho Halloween is the best.
I'm like, come on, I'm sorry, I'm lazy when it comes to that sort of thing.
There's a lot of things I'm not lazy about,
but I will absolutely dress up and I'll absolutely have fun and buy into it.
But coming up with what I want to be is tough for me.
And you'll be back in California for our friend's Halloween party.
Right? Okay, which is great.
Here's the question, though.
Are you going to be back for Zach's week of birthday festivities?
Doubtful.
You guys, can I tell you some shit?
What day does that start?
What day does it start?
That's a great question.
Zach Wickham texts me yesterday, and I'm not saying this in a way that I'm surprised because
I'm not.
Zach really only demands me to be in West Hollywood twice a year.
The entire month of June, which is Pride Month,
and Zach's birthday, which is October 22nd,
but he likes to sort of take up at least half the month
for his birthday.
I get a text from Zach that gives me a list
of four days in a row that tells me this day is Disney Day,
the next day is just a dinner night,
the next day is when we really go out and have, or we have a party at his place.
And the next day is Sunday Funday.
And I'm like, best friend, you outta your damn mind.
He knows I'm a homebody.
He knows that I love my house.
He knows that I don't like crossing over the hill from the valley into West Hollywood.
It is a real thing, guys.
That is why we were on a show called The Valley.
I do not leave The Valley unless I have to.
So my response to Zach was,
I'm not doing Disney Day,
and you can have me two out of the three days.
That is all I can commit to.
And his immediate response was,
I already knew the answer to that question.
(*Zachary laughs*)
But come on, who does four days in a row
pass like your 21st or your 30th birthday?
Look, I don't have any friends that did that on their 21st or their 30th or their 40th
or their sweet 16.
Like, I don't know anybody that did that at any point in their lives.
Oh my God.
Zach's going to hear this and I don't care, but should we like make it Zach's sweet 16
birthday?
That's hilarious.
Actually, that'd be great.
Oh my God.

You guys, I love Zach Dada. I will troll him forever, but I love how extra he is.
Should I give him my Kia with 300,000 miles on it?
Yeah, totally.
It's your new Kia, kiddo.
Kiddo.
That is hysterical.
So that's kind of what's been going on with us.
It's, you know, it's just been a lot at one time.
And I had a lot of
trouble sleeping last night. So I was kind of, I'm not going to get very religious right
now, but I did start kind of going back to my faith and realizing that I haven't been
trusting in God, or if you believe in the universe or whatever it is you believe in.
But I haven't, I've noticed lately that I've been very worrisome. I've been having this anticipatory anxiety
about future things that haven't even occurred.
And I had a lot of, I think,
peace once I finally fell asleep last night.
In just thinking, I have to just start trusting that I'm doing
everything I can to live my life in the most positive way.
Doing the things I can to try to conceive,
doing the things I can to work really hard, doing the things I can to work really hard
and to be a good partner to Luke
and to be a good friend and a good daughter
and a sister and all of those things.
And then past that, I have to sort of start leaning into
believing that there's like a plan for me.
And the more I'm worrying and stressing
about what the outcome could be, I'm only fucking myself.
You're worshiping the problem.
Yes. Isn't that such a good thing I sent you?
Worrying.
I've heard it before.
I never have.
Worrying is worshiping the problem.
We're just creating new problems.
Creating a problem that doesn't exist.
Just, no, worrying is worshiping the problem.
It's fucking bananas.
Hit me like a ton of bricks.
Worrying can be when there's no problem.
It's all in your head.
Totally. So it's not even like worshiping a problem.
It's just creating a problem in your mind.
Mm-hmm.
Welcome to my brain.
Okay.
Let's get into some, a little bit of fun.
A little bit of fun stuff.
This is gonna be a little bit of a shorter podcast
because we do have to jump on the road very shortly.
But we are back on it, guys.
We have some amazing guests lined up as well.
And we're ready to just talk about everything
you guys want to hear about, plus some.
And as soon as we are allowed to, you know,
talk a little bit more about our summer, you know we will.
But you guys know the rules.
So let's do a little ask me anything.
First question, and this question came a few times.
Did we do an embryo transfer?
So I did post a picture of McDonald's French fries and said, what do you guys think this
is about?
And also some pineapple, some pomegranate.
And I will say my buddy, my very good friend, Nia, Nia Sanchez-Bucco, immediately commented
back on my Instagram and said, everyone is going to say that you did an embryo transfer,
which everyone did.
But as Nia knows, I did not do an embryo transfer.
We started with IUI.
Yes, which is quite different.
And ultimately, I'd never heard of this McDonald's fries or,
I mean, like pineapple, pomegranate...
It's like an old wives' tale.
...kind of makes sense, but French fries,
I never heard of that at all.
So I was totally out of the loop, just dumbfounded that that was going to
trigger people to think something like IVF.
It's like little old wives tales.
So a lot of that was the crazy part is I was shocked about how many people,
how many women especially immediately wrote back and thought it was IVF,
embryo transfer, et cetera.
So let's just back up a little bit.
Those of you who may not know what IUI is, it's something we chose to try to do before
having to go as far as to do IVF. IUI is intrauterine insemination. So essentially what
Luke and I did, what I did, like we were saying earlier, is it was a lot of hormones, it was a lot
of scans, a lot of ultrasounds.
And essentially, rather than romantically getting pregnant the way that we would have
liked or preferred and tried to do anyway, there is a way for Luke to give a drop, a
sample of his sperm at our fertility doctor's office.
And then my fertility doctor then injects that
directly into my cervix. And according to my doctor, that gives us an extra 5% chance of
conceiving. So we kind of said, you know what, why not? Why not just give it a whirl? How lucky am I
that I have this opportunity that I know a lot of women don't have. And I know that it's not a great percentage that it will even work,
but you know, it's percentage.
It's better. And ultimately, you know, we'll never know.
So we can hold on to assuming you're pregnant this time.
We tried naturally leading up to the cutoff point where needed to stop
for a couple of days to collect a better sample to then put it right
where it needs to be.
Essentially, that's the way I like to describe it. Yes.
So we won't know exactly, but you know what? If it works, it works, and that's all that matters.
Yeah, basically. So that's what was making me crazy. And the little wives tale, Nia told me
immediately to, right when we left, I had to go get a McDonald's french fry and eat pineapple and pomegranate. The crazy part was right after I left,
I had to go to our interview space for the show,
because as everyone on the cast has been posting,
you know, you see us sitting in the little chair,
we're talking to our producers,
and we're doing these interview moments.
And I went straight from IUI to the interview space.
So I'm post-mating McDonald's and then from
a grocery store getting pineapple and pomegranate. And everyone's like, Kristen, what the hell
are you doing? Like you're crazy. And then right from there, we had an event to go to,
which was just bananas that whole day. Looking back, I can't believe that we did all of that
in one day.
It was quite a day. That's where we've been, we keep getting lost on what day it is. Like, wait,
did we do that yesterday? Or was that this morning? When we get up at, you know, 7 a.m. after
going to bed at 2 a.m. the night before, and then we're up at midnight that night, we're like,
was that yesterday or today that we did the IUI? Was it, what day did we go to the doctor? What
day did we do this? It's like, oh man, it gets confusing. But yeah, you guys, we're really open and honest with pretty much everybody. We will continue to share what we feel is appropriate
and about our fertility journey. Not saying I'm going to be announcing whether I'm pregnant
or not as early as we might find out, but I do appreciate all of you ladies who have
DM me wishing me good baby dust. And for those of you
don't know, it's just kind of, it's kind of the thing that a lot of moms trying to conceive do
and something my fertility doctor told me where it's like as much as very scientific as she is,
she also likes to manifest these things and try to stay in like a positive mindset. So you wish
good baby dust. So I'd like to say thank you to all
the mommas out there wishing me the good baby dust. Next question, were we at the Michigan
Renaissance Festival in September? We absolutely were. That's when we went to Michigan for
my mom's birthday. I've been more times than I can count. Y'all, it's a good time, but
this year, no, not so much.
It was my second time being there. And so last year, it was the opposite as far as it was a little bit wetter.
There were some muddy spots and it was certainly not like this year.
This year, there were more people there.
They hadn't had rain, they're kind of in the middle of a drought.
And it was dusty.
It's still very cool.
Actually, we got to see the jousting full on
with the sticks breaking and horses running full speed at each other
with knights in full armor.
You thought that was so cool?
That was cool.
And I had, well, not officially your niece,
but your best friend, Amy's daughter on my shoulder
so she could watch it.
Yeah, that was super cute.
It was a lot of fun.
Yeah, it was a good time.
I mean, I'm not gonna lie.
It was hot as hell.
My mom said it was the busiest she's ever seen it
in 20 years.
It took like an hour to get anything to drink,
and it was dusty, there was no wind.
It was just like, it was a lot for me.
But if you all have been, you know it can be a really good time.
And just another excuse to dress up. My favorite thing.
Oh, yeah. I was so dressed up for that one.
You were wild.
No, it's fun for us chicks, all right?
We get to like play fun dress up.
It's good time.
You forgot your elf ears that you got the year before.
Yeah, you love those elf ears.
Well, you haven't even worn them for me yet.
I wore them last year on Halloween.
I love a great deal as much as the next guy,
but I'm not going to crawl through a bed of hot coals
just to save a few bucks.
It has to be easy.
No hoops, no BS.

See MintMobile for details. Next question. Ooh, my favorite tattoo.
Well, Luke, you have two tattoos.
The question isn't for me. It's for you.
It just says favorite tattoo. It's an ask us anything.
Well, I think my favorite tattoo will be my calf sleeve once it gets finished.
But right now, what's your favorite tattoo?
I know. Our matching tattoo.
Yes. Our matching tattoo we got like eight weeks after knowing each other.
I think I actually love them all really equally except for my tramp stamps.
I think they're the only ones that I could do without,
but I can't see them anyway, so I just kind of forget they're there.
But all of my tattoos have meaning.
I either have the tattoo like with a friend,
I have friends handwriting like on my skin.
I even have 555 on my finger.
That is my like spiritual, my angel number
with my grandfather and Katie Maloney wrote it
with a Sharpie and then we had it tattooed on top of it.
So that one to me is like pretty special.
But I think tattoos tell a story
and that's why I try not to regret any of them.
Let's see.
Curious if Stassi has reached out to congratulate me a story and that's why I try not to regret any of them. Let's see.
Curious if Stacey has reached out to congratulate me on our engagement.
I have not heard from Stacey.
I think the last time I heard from Stacey would have been on her anniversary when I
wished her a happy anniversary and we exchanged some kind words and that's kind of it.
So I'm okay with that.
I have a lot of love for her and for her family.
And I think I've said that a million times.
That's never gonna change for me.
We have a lot of history and she used to be like a sister to me.
So I just wish her the best.
I just think, you know, sometimes friendships don't last.
That's it. People just grow apart.
Yeah. I don't know. I've never met Stacey.
I've met Bo multiple times, but never met Stacey.
There she has her happy family.
So...
Okay, Luke, this is for you. Next question.
What kind of projects will Luke be doing for the new house?
You wanna talk to them about it?
We kind of talked about it before,
but like, you busted your ass on the last round.
I think you need to post like a side by side
of like what it was and then what you did in like a week.
Yeah, I have a nice collection.
I need to start posting more often.
I think anyone listening to this is also following me
on Instagram.
They're aware I post very infrequently.
I try to get some more stories up.
So there's some sort of something to follow anyway.
But I certainly intend to be posting more
so people can stay up to date with what I'm doing
because I am actively doing things, believe it or not.
So what are you doing with the house right now?
I mean, you basically just doubled the house.
I'm building it, more than doubled.
It's still gonna be like a tiny home.
It's over the minimum size.
It's just function over fashion.
I mean, you don't buy 70 acres to have a house you wanna stay in all the time, right? At least not in my brain, that's not the minimum size. It's just function over fashion. I mean, you don't buy 70 acres to have a house you want to stay in all the time.
Right? At least not in my brain. That's not how that works.
I'm not gonna have all this land for a giant house,
whereas you see the opposite in California,
where you have a 10,000 square foot lot and a 12,000 square foot house.
Because it's three stories. Right?
Um, next question.
Has all the Valley drama affected yours and Brittany's relationship at all?
And you know, I can't answer anything about the Valley, but I will say,
Brittany is absolutely my best friend in Los Angeles.
And I think no matter what happens, if it's truly your best friend,
you're like family, you figure ways to work things out.
So you guys will just have to watch and see if Brittany and I have any tips or maybe we don't. I don't know. Next question. Oh, this one's for me, not you,
Luke. Did I keep in contact with Miami girl? I did not, guys. I did not. God, what year was that
even? That had to be what? 11 years ago, 12 years ago. After that lovely crazy day at Sir,
I never spoke to her again.
So not sure what's going on with her.
I think her name is Anne-Marie if I remember correctly,
but hopefully she's living her best life.
That was a wild moment.
Next question, do I still own any Sir dresses?
I am so freaking mad, you guys.
I don't. I don't have one single sir dress.
I could not even tell you how many I did own. I owned them from like the minute we started
wearing dresses. When I first started working at Sir, we wore like boots, jean shorts, and
a t-shirt for lunch and dinner. When Sir was this tiny little place with like 10, 12 employees.
Eventually we got those like black t-shirt type dresses. Then you know the Saint Tropez dresses, as we call them,
that are like the little tiny scarves
that you can hold in like the palm of your hand.
I did however find out the other day,
I believe Brittany does still have some Sir dresses.
Like maybe I need to try them on and see if they still fit.
How funny would that be?
I've never seen you in one, except on the first season.
Oh my God, if you were a sur girl for Halloween...
Oh, my goodness.
-...I would fucking cry. I wouldn't work.
I would cry. It would be the funniest thing ever of my whole life.
Like if you and Zach wore sur dresses.
It's a thought. It's a thought.
Don't answer me now.
Just let it roll around in your mind.
Switch it around in your mouth. Just, like, let it settle with you.
Do I have to shave my legs?
You do not.
Okay, perfect. You could wear, like, sparkly tights or you could just like let it settle with you. Do I have to shave my legs? You do not. Okay, perfect.
You can wear like sparkly tights or you could just, you know, be free.
Well, actually, you know what?
I don't want to shave their legs.
I time it up with some tattoo work on my left leg. I'll have to shave it anyway.
Just live your best life. You know what I mean?
Free for all, baby.
And I think we've sort of talked about this in the last podcast, but wedding plans.
On the count of three, Luke, let's talk about our wedding plans.
One, two, three, none.
None.
Doesn't exist.
However, you know what?
The more we get asked about it, the more I think I'm going to end up initiating the planning
process.
I just, I truly feel like it's not something Kristen is ever going to be like, yeah, you
know what?
I feel like taking on this beast of a project.
We've got enough other projects and such going on yeah, you know what? I feel like taking on this beast of a project. We've got enough other projects and such going on
that you know what, when I finish the cabin,
my mind might shift over to let's pick an island
first and foremost and go from there.
Break it down to little baby steps.
Look, we know, we can't say we have no wedding plans.
Look, we know we're not gonna throw the big fancy,
expensive wedding in Los Angeles or Orange County. We're
not going to have five, 600 people there. We're not going to do the big show for everybody else
kind of thing. We're going to do a cool little quaint thing on an island somewhere with our
closest friends and family. And we'll still end up being too many people probably.
I think I told you this Luke, I'm not sure if I did, but something I really liked about when
Janet and Jason got married,
because they got married offshore, just the two of them,
and it was just sort of like they got married together,
they had a honeymoon in the same place,
but they did make like a link available,
like a live streaming type of a link,
so we could all watch it from home and like kind of felt like we got to be a part
and like see them in all of their love and glory.
We should definitely do that.
And I thought it was the first time I had ever heard
of people doing something like that.
And maybe it became popular during COVID,
that that was how we all started communicating.
But it was really lovely to actually get to see it
rather than watching a video or even just photos of it.
So I thought that was pretty cool.
So my friend, good friend Rafael, who I grew up with,
he married his wife Ana in Puerto Rico a few years back
and they had a live stream.
I know it's something these days, it's really easy to do.
So I think that's a no-brainer.
We will do that so people can tune in
if they want to feel like they're a part of it.
Yes.
And then something else I wanted to touch on, I only got one little message
about this, just about Asheville, North Carolina and the insane hurricanes.
And yes, my heart, our hearts and love and prayers are with everyone.
What's so wild is that two of Luke's neighbors in Colorado, I did not realize
that that is where they actually just moved to.
Yeah, they packed up and moved to North Carolina. They still wanted to be in some mountains,
but they've had a rough time, really rough go of it with this move. So shout out to Tom
and Natalie. If you hear this, we are thinking about you and all the other people that are
struggling in North Carolina with the flooding and Hurricane Helene.
Yes. And I was texting with Natalie actually the other day
just because I was looking at different resources
and places to donate and the best way
to help people out there because I know it's like
donate to the Red Cross or donate to this
and sometimes it's better to start locally
and think globally that way.
I'm sure many of you saw this, but
there was just as an example, like this small furniture store that decided to take all of
their inventory. Yes, of course, some of it was a bit damaged by the floods, but they
took all of their inventory. They put it all out in a parking lot. They made a post, I
believe on Facebook and said, if you can load it up, it's yours. And they just really wanted
to help their community out. So I was just letting Natalie know that if she had friends
or neighbors or people that were going through things,
this is something I read about.
And I wanted to just share what she texts me back as well,
that there are a lot of wonderful charities coming out
of the woodwork to help.
And specifically an organization called Cajun Navy,
she said they brought a pack of mules up to that area
to carry supplies up into the mountains
for people who are stranded.
And I thought that was really fantastic,
not something I had heard about.
So if you guys are looking to help
or share some organizations,
that's something from a local friend that I've heard
has been really helpful helping people
that cannot leave their homes at this time.
So our hearts are with you.
And it is very devastating, but I hope everyone is safe.
And the saddest part is like, those are the areas
that you wouldn't think you would have to leave.
Like in North Carolina, why would you have to evacuate
when you think that hurricane is hitting the Gulf?
Like that's the craziest part of it all. Right, well, they were also like, it's way inland North Carolina, why would you have to evacuate when you think that hurricane is hitting the Gulf? Like that's the craziest part of it all.
Right. Well, they were also like, it's way inland, North Carolina. It's the people that
don't usually deal with hurricane issues that are being hit the hardest.
Right. And that's the craziest thing.
And even here in Indiana, I couldn't believe hearing like your parents tell us like how
much, of course, nothing near what like the hurricane had done, but just how the winds had reached as far north as Indianapolis,
that were like breaking trees down and things like that.
Like I had no idea that it had reached.
The winds and the rain, they still had inches of rain in a short period of time.
Like the devastation level was just so large.
Ultimately here though, I know that it's been a bit of a drought in the Midwest
and they appreciated some moisture coming in from it.
So it's certainly not the same thing as people getting flooded out and losing everything
and the people having even worse go of it, losing family members.
Yeah.
And then I just have one more thing I'd like to address on a completely separate note,
because I've gotten this question before and someone decided to
write me, hey, Money, Money, 1985, I'm talking to you. Because I just, I would like people
to be more kind even when you're curious, but this person said, did you have a procedure
done on your mouth? It's wonky. So yes, in fact, I broke my face many a moon ago. I had
reconstructive surgery on the right side of my face.
I broke my orbital socket in three places.
My doctors, Dr. Lakey, Dr. Payman Danielpour from Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group literally
went in, had to re-break my face because it had bones heal very quickly, especially fragile
bones in your face.
Re-break my face, put titanium plates in, and essentially put me back together.
Throughout that time, I was doing a lot of physical therapy
on the right side of my face
in order to even out my smile again.
And apparently I may have done
a little too much physical therapy.
I worked on it a little too hard.
So now the right side of my smile
is actually a lot stronger
and pulls a lot harder to the right.
So yeah, sometimes when I talk, sometimes when I smile, that's what it looks like. But it's not wonky, girlfriend.
It's just imperfect and it's just part of who I am. And it's a nice little story
to tell. So if you don't have something nice to say, please don't say anything at
all. And I think it's wonderful to be curious about other people, where they're
from, what they've gone through, you know, accidents they've had.
But there's just always a kind way to be curious about it.
So don't be an asshole.
And if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
And I think that's great for today. How about you, babe?
Sounds good to me.
Only thing I want to add is, you know, we got to get on the road
so we can make it to Travis Kelce's birthday party in Kansas City.
I hear, you know, maybe we'll be the guests of honor.
We'll see Tay-Tay.
No, we may try to crash the party,
but I doubt we'd get in there.
So we had a plan of when we were leaving Indiana today,
we were possibly gonna stop halfway,
which would be Kansas City.
And I have a couple of friends
and their kids that live in Kansas City,
my friend, Jade and Tanner, and their little babies.
And I haven't seen them in such a long time.
Then randomly, I'm reading my fun pop culture news
and find out that Travis Kelsey's birthday,
and he's having this huge party for his birthday.
So I was like, maybe Kansas City isn't the place to stop.
I don't know, we'll see.
Oh, it's not gonna be that big.
It's not gonna be like a full-
You don't think so?
No, he's not having 10,000 plus people there. It's not a sporting event.
No, but it's like this whole car show block party thing. You don't think extra people
are going to be showing up knowing that he's publicly saying he'll be there?
Sure, but it's not like a big sporting event that's going to cause extra traffic. Maybe
in the very specific vicinity, but the interstate's not going to be backed up like rush hour.
Okay.
Yeah. But I may try to reach out to some connects and see if we can get on the list.
So ridiculous.
Okay.
Well, wish us luck on our drive guys.
