Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the podcast, folks. It is late Sunday, January 30th here. Everybody's been following along and asking for tons of updates on what we're seeing here at the ground level, what's been going on. So I've got to continue to talk about the beautiful protests that continues to happen to Parliament. Tons of people, thousands of people, trucks, horns, peaceful, demonstration, nothing violent. There's been a lot of great speakers, a lot of people you've heard on the podcast before. Eric Payne's here, Francis Christian. A lot of these great doctors have come. Byron Bridal met him today.
Starting point is 00:00:42 It's been an interesting little go. And then, of course, all the truckers and everything else, it's been fantastic to see so many wonderful people. You know, I keep reiterating that. We had a family who drove in half an hour to deliver a supper tonight. I know you've been hearing different stories about the charity of what's going on here. And a family reached out and wanted to give us food. And so they drove in and just absolutely everything home cooked. It was unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:01:14 I talked to a 20-year-old, a 20-year veteran of the Ottawa Police Force today. And he said it's the most peaceful protest he's ever seen in his 20 years. He said even at night, the protesters are picking up the garbage. and I thought that was very intriguing, and I met with him, and he's doing a documentary. His name's Andrew Pelosi, so he's probably going to listen to this at some point, but I showed up to Andrew and his team for going out. I just literally saw them go out. It is, what time is it right now?
Starting point is 00:01:46 It is 1 a.m. in the morning, and they're out there picking up garbage. Think about that for a second. Finally, I would just say, before we get on to the show, I keep, saying this is a Bob Marley movement, you know, peace, love, unity. He's got a song where the line goes, you can fool some people sometimes, but you can't fool all the people all the time. So now we're going to see the light, what you're going to do. And I think more and more people are waking up to the fact that what's going on here
Starting point is 00:02:21 is a peaceful protest, no matter how much they try and paint it in a different light. but in saying that, I thought today, you know, I've been hearing a lot about Antifa as I sit here and I go, I don't even know what Antifa is. Like I have no idea what I'm looking for. So I thought, well, I stumbled across a guy who's got some background and talking about it. So I figured, well, let's put them on. Let's talk about it. Let's update us all on Antifa and kind of what he's been seeing here in the crowd and keep you guys all up to date.
Starting point is 00:02:54 Okay. Well, without further ado. So I'm sitting with Jason LaFoss here today in the Ark Hotel downtown Ottawa. It has been a day to remember here Sunday. I think the whole world is watching what's going on, hoping that this goes the right way for history and moving forward. But we're going to talk about a little bit of Antifa because I literally come from small town, Saskatchewan, live in small town, Alberta, Saskatchman's right on the border,
Starting point is 00:03:36 and I have no bloody clue what Antifa looks like, what they stand for, anything. I think it would be a good lesson to start off the week with what are people even looking for? All right, well, for Antifa, these guys will blend in the crowd, right? So a little history about who they are in Canada. Antifa represents anti-fascism. Now, there's real antifascists who basically what we're doing right now is fighting tyranny in fascism with this medical tyranny, it's eugenics. It's basically a similar episode of running down the Nazi memory lane.
Starting point is 00:04:10 I don't like to use that word, but that's basically what this is. Now, anti-fascism is what we're fighting against. Now, these guys come up and they masquerade themselves as anti-fascists and they're anarchists, they're anti-government, they're anti-society. They think that we should steal from the wealthy and just feed the poor like that, but they don't understand the concept of the economy and so on and so forth. So now what these guys have been doing for the last few years is partnering up with protest groups, going around destroying history and, you know, like tearing down statues and stuff,
Starting point is 00:04:48 you know, vandalizing businesses, attacking people online with misinformation campaigns, destroying people's businesses just with online lies. So these guys have been well coordinated and been working with, as a lobby group for the liberals. And it's been going on since the liberals have been in power. Before Trudeau was in power, there was no Antifa in Canada. We didn't even hear about it. Yeah, there was anti-fascists, but they were real anti-fascists.
Starting point is 00:05:14 People were actually fighting against racism and actual values. So right now we have these fringe groups, and they called us fringe, but these are actually people that they're a group of 20, 30 kids. They go out and they'll start just trashing stuff. If they dress in black, they usually have an anarchy symbol on them, or they'll have the two flags, which is a black and red flag, and a black circle around, say, anti-fascists. Now, these people are pushing communism, Marxism,
Starting point is 00:05:44 and that's all they believe in. They think that Marxism and communism is the way to live. I don't understand why. I mean, even one time, my wife worked at a cafe in our little town of Subway, Ontario, right? And she comes, you know, I'm walking over there to meet her after work, and these two guys walk by, and I know the guy. I'm going to metal shows and seeing him there. So this guy, he's like, hey, Jay, he's like, you should, you know, are you an anti-fascist?
Starting point is 00:06:12 And I'm like, yeah, actually, I'm, you know, I don't believe in. I. My family fought the Second World War. We liberated Jewish people and all the prisoners in Auschwitz. I mean, we've always defended our country. And he's like, well, he's like, well, you should check out what I've got. And when he passes me this paper, and it's like, there's the Marxist-Lennon guy. and the communist symbols, and I'm like, buddy, I don't believe in this, man.
Starting point is 00:06:34 I believe in democracy and freedom, you know what I mean, right off the back. He started right away. The guy, it turned in within five minutes he wanted to fight me. Just because of a difference of an opinion, that's what they do. They strictly believe if you don't agree with them, they will do everything and anything to destroy you. So an example is this week. Antifa has been going around the city since we've got here, right? And they've been doing things like the first day, we weren't even in town yet.
Starting point is 00:06:57 There was bricks of skids of bricks being placed up. of Parliament. I mean, the Parliament, police contacted us and let us know that it was there. We know that a flatbed was driving around the city dropping these pallets down. That was all removed. Then we're finding out that they're using their teenage kids. They're egg in our trucks. You know, these are things that they're doing. An incident today at the Rideau Mall, there was a bunch of homeless people in the mall around the CAF area, or the Food Court area. and Antifa, a bunch of young kids, try to pick fights with the homeless and then blame it on us, you know, our truckers.
Starting point is 00:07:36 So this is the things they do. They're agitators. So they'll actually go as far as try to infiltrate your group and then get in there and then they'll just destroy it from within. And they've been good at doing these things. So what I like about our group is we're tight, right? We make sure we have each other's back. And I find that a lot of us vet each other to make sure we know who we are. which is a great, good thing.
Starting point is 00:08:00 And that's something that those guys don't do. So I just want to say this. For the last three years, I've been attacked by Antifa for my views of trying to fix communities. You know, we have, in my city, we have 10 cities everywhere. I mean, people are living on the street. They're freezing to death. The opiates is a big thing.
Starting point is 00:08:18 We've got needles everywhere. I mean, and these groups like Antifa are linked to organizations that work with public health. And they distribute, like in my city, we have 175,000 people, and they distribute 3.7 million needles on our streets. Now, you figure out the math, there's people making money off that, obviously, but there's an account, you know what I mean? And Antifa is right behind it. They get into these community groups, they infiltrate, they disrupt society, and they try to push their leftist views.
Starting point is 00:08:48 And, I mean, it's damaging, and it's eroding our democracy in Canada right now. And the liberals and the NDP are, like, they're right in it. And I can prove that with some of the that's happened in my city before. So being on part of this team, I mean, I got a skill set and I bring it to the table so that, you know, we have each other's back because I'm tired of being, seeing them use the media to attack us with lies. You know, they're always lying about us. I mean, just look what happened this week. It's just a crazy misinformation campaign by CBC and the gold medias, particularly attacking us, saying that, or we're this and not. Let's talk about that for a second.
Starting point is 00:09:25 You know, I've been in town now, oh, geez, I believe two full days now. It seems like a lifetime. They've been long, great days. Like, I mean, I was saying to my wife, I've never felt safer in my entire lifetime than what is here in Ottawa right now. And I've heard that multiple times. It's the happiest, joyous place ever. And yet, everything from a media standpoint doesn't want to talk about it, doesn't want to even show it. And then you start hearing these reports of these people trying to incite violence and all these different things.
Starting point is 00:10:02 And then the media grabbing that and trying to act like it's a truckers. It might be the most wildest thing I've seen, except now you have, which has been really cool. You know, I don't know how many thousands upon thousands of people are here. Everybody is looking for it to try and ensure that it doesn't happen. Because we all understand how fragile this is and how this has to work. and in order for it to work, it can't go that way. And so could you talk about your experience on, you know, we've talked a little bit about Antifa, which is, I think that's a very good,
Starting point is 00:10:36 what are some of the things that you've seen them do? You've mentioned a ton of stuff. Have you seen anything here over the past two days that sticks out in your mind, and maybe you already mentioned it, but is there anything that you've seen personally or heard, you know, from the truckers? I know you're in contact with a bunch of the boys and women, for that matter. Is there anything you've seen that you want the listener, the world to know? Yeah, so the one thing I want the world to know is this.
Starting point is 00:11:04 We had an incident on Parliament Hill with the fallen soldier, and that was agitators. They were not our protesters. They were not anything affiliated to our organizations that are, you know, helping manage this convoy. It's not our truckers. I mean, it's not even our volunteers. These people, it's exactly what they do.
Starting point is 00:11:23 They find key things to do. I mean, they went and they urinated on, and desecrated the fallons. And believe me, when it comes to defending this country and our veterans and stuff, that's very close to my heart. Believe me, we served every war. And that was flat out agitators from Antifa. We knew about this. And I just didn't think they were going to do that.
Starting point is 00:11:45 The other thing was, there was a group of guys that came in 6.30 in the morning. I'm coming out from Confederation Park. you know, I was just leaving the trailer to come back to the hotel, and there was like five or six guys out front, and they looked like freedom fighters, you know? And I said, I walked up to them, and I shook their hand and said, hey, guys, you know, and they were all, you know, and I kind of felt something was off.
Starting point is 00:12:07 Like, I actually felt it. And actually, you know, while I'm talking to, this other guy comes right around the corner and he's, like, taking a video of me. Now, freedom fighters, those of you guys listening out there, you know that when we're together. You ain't going to pull a phone out and start recording your fellow food fighter. That's just, you know what I mean? we're not going to do that.
Starting point is 00:12:23 So that just gave it away. So instead of starting a confrontation, I just walked away and left a beat, but I always kept that in my mind and tried to remember the faces, right? And I share that with my brothers and sisters here on our team. So, I mean, these are things that they're doing,
Starting point is 00:12:36 and they're trying to really sabotage our event so that to make an attempt to fail with our message. And that's one thing. My message with Canadians around the country and around the world is just, look at the only way we're going to fight this thing, win this thing is a, we've got to remember we have to keep unity, the message. Love is one thing and forgiveness. The forgiveness is where if you can forgive somebody who's
Starting point is 00:13:00 done something wrong to you and you could just forgive them, I mean, everybody could do that. We could move forward so fast as humanity because we're going to learn that lesson. And when this is all over, when the fight is over, we can actually look back and say we learned from all this because COVID was the ultimate key to make us remind like the tyranny of what's going on. oppression and it actually makes you think about all those other things that some of these groups actually you know like black lives matter was all about segregation and stuff do you see them fighting alongside of us with a vox pass in place they don't care you know they went out and damaged all their stuff and i'm not saying that anti-BLm or anything it's just i don't believe in groups that preach
Starting point is 00:13:39 one thing and then when it's time to actually fight the war for freedom they're not standing beside you because you watch what they've done they did they went out and it was violence and what are we doing It's peaceful, but yet we're the bad guys. To all the truckers sitting in their trucks, you know, in the city, you know, I think of the guys like right here and I think, geez, they're sitting by a lot of people that are kind of overlooking them, but there's a lot of truckers, you know, out in the fields, stuck in little spots, secluded, I would say. And I can imagine that being very lonely. And, I mean, honestly, you drive all the way across country to come park in Parliament, and it's, not been exactly, well, I mean, it isn't 10 trucks, right? I know, wait a second, it is 12 trucks, isn't it? I mean, like, it's, it's a little bit of a fluid situation here. But for any of the
Starting point is 00:14:32 guys who are out in groups of, you know, five, 10 trucks, whatever it is, if they see them coming, what is the best solution form? Is there a best solution form in your experience? Well, I mean, if you asked me that question 10 years ago, I would have said, fight them, right? That's just, that's my past, but now look at the message we're trying to deliver here is to be peaceful and you guys are out there alone, don't fight them, just call the cops. I mean, you have to. In this situation, we're fighting for freedom and all hands are on deck and we all have to work together equally. So if I'm going to stand here and protect the interests of this organization, this convoy and the message that we're trying to deliver, we all have to be on the same page.
Starting point is 00:15:19 You know, we can't just, no violence, at all cost, no violence. If a guy hits you, I mean, you have the right to defend yourself, but don't instigate it. If you see the guys around your truck, just whatever. Stay in your truck and call the authorities immediately and let us know. Call us here at the head at command, and, you know, we'll get on it. We'll get somebody out there. We'll help you out. We'll make sure the authorities are in place.
Starting point is 00:15:45 But at the same time, we are making sure that we're keeping the peace. We're showing the country that we're not involved in these kind of activities, and we just want our freedoms back. Yeah. To, once again, one more time for all the truckers out there. I'm going to have to start a new little thing here. As, you know, we got an absolute, you know, everybody's got their favorite trucker story. The one guy or whatever, my father used to truck long haul.
Starting point is 00:16:13 Got such fun memories of riding in the big rig with them. Is there a shout out you want to give to one of the truckers sitting here that's, you know, come across the country that sticks out in your mind. I know you've helped organize a bunch and directed a bunch in and everything else. Is there one, I know, or multiple, actually, for that matter. If you want to rattle off, I don't think if they do hear this, I think it's always good to know they're not forgotten about because they're all sitting out there holding the line, so to speak,
Starting point is 00:16:40 here in and around Ottawa. All right, so all my boys that came up from Niagara Falls and Toronto, Hamilton area, even some of the guys out in Sarnia. I mean, I know a lot of you guys are parked in some of the locations. I know that you're getting frustrated. Also, the guys that came out in the West Coast from the West Coast, you guys are in some pretty tight spots, and I've talked to a few of you guys on the A-BAN.
Starting point is 00:17:03 So listen, guys, just hold the line. You know, I know that the police have been playing some games by trying to redirect some of our trucks and some locations that it's just not favorable for us. So this is what I'm saying, you guys. If they come and ask you guys to move, we're holding line and all I'm saying is just roll up your windows
Starting point is 00:17:21 and just blow the horn because you're actually, that's a peaceful thing and you're not showing any kind of resistance and I thank all you guys for coming out so if you guys need anything we guys, you know, we got a group of volunteers that I can deploy to get you guys some food whatever you need, we're here for you.
Starting point is 00:17:37 Thank you. For sure.
