Starting point is 00:00:00 It's working, Tews. It is. I notice that you keep going with the full version rather than the clipped version. That's because every time we voted on it, it won. And I just enjoy it. I got 52% of the vote. You're just doing this to piss me off. I can tell. You basically just come out with shots fired at the start of every episode, and then you wonder why I'm...
Starting point is 00:00:34 Fucking A. Shots fucking fired. House 2 is doing me. this morning this morning. Geez, I'm all bungled up on this side. Mashup 26. I don't know. I'm good.
Starting point is 00:01:08 I started this thing called the carnivore diet on the weekend, so I've been eating strictly. Oh, nice. Let me tell you. I'm vibrating. It's a buddy's advice. Well, we're trying it out anyways. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:20 I mean, this is one of the fringe benefits of being sponsored by a butcher shop, I guess, hey? I mean, nobody else could afford to go on a carnivore diet. I was literally at Brian Hayden's house today. shout out to Brian. And he's like, so what do we have? And I'm like, well, I'm only eating meat. And he's like, sweet.
Starting point is 00:01:36 We fired up like four steaks on the barbecue. I'm like, all right, here we go. Nice. Did he eat anything? No, he didn't. He just stared at me in awe. You know, I was kind of like a side show at the circus. Well, welcome to Tuesday mashup number 26.
Starting point is 00:01:54 We had QDM last week. Obviously, we're all going to be on stage here pretty damn quick, two. so that'll be exciting November 5th. Show knows. It's coming up. I was working on the material on a big drive today. Just rehearsing. I was at the Halloween store with the kids.
Starting point is 00:02:12 I was at the Halloween store with the kids. And I was looking at the marshmallow head helmets. I'm like, maybe I should get twos one of these. Would people think that's funny or they're just ready to see who twos is? I'm sure they would think it's mildly amusing for about five seconds. It might be nice for a funny bit. And then they'd be like, okay, enough of that, we can't hear you. It'd be like me wearing a mask in a store.
Starting point is 00:02:37 Sorry, what? Well, this episode is brought to by Rohan Rig Services. I'm going to leave it until middle of a bit because I, Tuesday is, you know, every week you send me, you know, we've got a list of articles you've got to read. And at the top one of the articles is a video, I'll explain it all there because I got all fucking pissy and I didn't want to read the article after I watched a video. Anyways, let's get some fan text, okay?
Starting point is 00:02:59 So after last Tuesday, Learn nothing this mashup but had laughs. That was Clodette. Bahaha ha ha. Just finished listening to you guys today's mashup. You guys are killing it. Thanks for the laugh. I hope I'm saying this right.
Starting point is 00:03:14 Tawny? I think it's Tawny. Sounds like today. Anyways, from Eminton. I'm a SaaS boy. Today then. If she says it sounds like today, it probably is today. But it's spelled T-O-N-N-A-E.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Where's the D? Dude. Today? Have you ever seen my last name written on paper? I got appreciation for people with difficult names. Well, today, I'm sure you're listening to this. And if I just butchered it, that's cool. Shoot me a text.
Starting point is 00:03:44 I'm a SaaS boy through and through. I listen to mashups 23, 24, and 25 from our cottage. And, oh, man, Cassie, Cape, New Brunswick. I hope I'm saying that right. Last week we asked for people from different parts of the country that we hadn't heard from to throw, you know, shoot. us a text. He said, don't bust my balls about a cottage versus a cabin. It's a fucking single wide. If I brought beer from here would be from Cavick. Don't mess up the name or I'll have to yell
Starting point is 00:04:13 at my speaker again. Keep up the good boys. Good work, boys. That's Les. Less is a pilot that I know a little bit from a few different circles. He's hooked me up a fair amount of time. So cool. Thanks, Lee or thanks, Les. See, like I'm all fucked up today. Anyways, thanks, Les. Now I'm staring at Lee, Lee Novel said, well, that was a fucking train wreck. He was talking about last week.
Starting point is 00:04:40 And he was not wrong. I think it started, it went about 40 minutes, and it was all over the place, but you get the point. It was a lot of fun, but we didn't really cover the news very much. No,
Starting point is 00:04:52 no, it was like half the time, I was just laughing at you two go back and forth. Anyways. Yeah, it'll be great when we finally meet in person for the first time. Here was, so we got New Brunswick,
Starting point is 00:05:04 and then here was Kenny Mahar, I hope I'm saying that right, said new listener here from Nova Scotia, the beer I'm bringing to the party is Dirty Blonde from Nine Locks. So hey, we got Nova Scotia and we got New Brunswick. That's interesting.
Starting point is 00:05:16 When I was in Nova Scotia, I was in there for some work stuff way back in the day when I did my offshore training and it was, I think, propeller brewery, something like that. They had this wicked awesome pale ale. Well, I'm still waiting on, I'm still waiting on a few places.
Starting point is 00:05:35 P.E.I. Yukon. I'm guessing P.I. They drink vodka. Maybe. Maybe. I'm just saying if you know somebody who's listening to Newfoundland, it's all cores light. Text line, hit me up. I want to know if we got people listening all over the place. Up north, we haven't had a text. I'm just curious. There are people off in the bush drinking the shine, listen to us to who yahuas. You get the point. Anyways, let's get some headlines, shall we, and get the show on the road. The clock is starting as we speak.
Starting point is 00:06:07 First off, Canada Post more like Canada plagiarist. Tews. I'm livid. These assholes, we literally pay them to steal from us. Like it's bad enough when the politicians do it, but now the Crown corporations are doing it too. Two, two, two. Well, they're doing it. They're doing, what is it?
Starting point is 00:06:31 A Tuesday, we threw this in last minute because it came up on Twitter. It's a Tuesday, what is it? I can't even fucking remember again. I just remember laughing at you, call them out on Twitter. Well, that's because they're a bunch of assholes, Sean. Okay, so they started this new promotional campaign where they're trying to get people to send packages around because they're Canada Post.
Starting point is 00:06:51 And so it's basically they're doing a bogo every Tuesday in October, and they're calling it Tuesday. With a two. Like, what an original idea. Do you have any idea where they got it from, Sean? Us two brilliant men, I like to think. Maybe. Maybe.
Starting point is 00:07:09 I want $2.22 every time someone uses it. I kind of want our listeners to send each other packages and have it, you know, like rooster slurper sliding across the country. That's kind of what I want. Anyways, that's me. Okay, but use FedEx because Canada Post sucks. And I know that there's somebody out there who's going to say that FedEx sucks. too. I know who you are. But Canada Post sucks more.
Starting point is 00:07:37 Loblaws, lobs, Hail Mary over potential future laws. I had to stare at that one a few times. I'm not going to lie. So. I purposely give you tongue twisters when I can. I see. I see that. They're essentially locking in prices till January, 2023 on their, you know, their no-name brand. Although I do find this at the very bottom of the article, okay? It's got a correction. And it says some readers may have seen a headline for this article stating no name brand products prices would be frozen until the end of 2023. It has been corrected to say the end of January, 2023. I'm like, you know full damn well.
Starting point is 00:08:20 They put that in there knowing that everybody would see 2023 and in their brain would be like, like, is that not a marketing strategy, twos? First off, maybe? I don't think Loblaws wrote the article. but come on i realized they didn't write the article they can still influence it so how could they have decided what the headline is sean what it's called money twos just call up ctv news and say yeah hey we all get paid from the same government i got 12 million for a fridge fucking a 600 million for paid propaganda let's help each other out let's do a little bit of glad yeah actually that's probably exactly how it goes now that i'm saying as you say it i'm like this sounds less
Starting point is 00:08:59 like a conspiracy theory and more like that's probably what happened. That's absolutely what happened. I also did like Yeah. Well, no, you fire away. Sure. What would you like to say to's? Oh, I think it's just funny because they're like,
Starting point is 00:09:17 oh yeah, it's somehow newsworthy that we're going to go through six weeks of prices not increasing on no, on off brand groceries. That's somehow, news in this current country we live in that you get six-week price freeze on groceries?
Starting point is 00:09:35 Is there going to be a six-week freeze on wages? I'm pretty sure it's going to go a lot longer than that. Is there going to be a six-week freeze on inflation? Fuck no. I also like to point out that NDP leader Zagmete Singh had something to say about this. In the article, he said it's greedflation
Starting point is 00:09:50 is behind higher grocery bills suggesting rich CEOs are to blame for the rising cost of food. This motherfucker. That's all I'm going to to say about it. So first of all, it's the NDP have no fucking idea about anything to do with economics. They actually
Starting point is 00:10:07 just passed a motion unanimously 307 votes for zero against, which means that the conservatives also voted unanimously for this NDP motion to investigate corporate greed and greedy CEOs and rich man bad and businesses bad.
Starting point is 00:10:23 And honestly, it would be a hell of a lot cheaper to buy all 338 members of parliament a copy of of basic economics by Thomas Sowell. Seriously, there's not much to this. It's just, it's supply and demand and basic, this is just, economics 101 is literally what it would take to just look at this and be like, okay, well, it makes sense that CEOs get paid lots of money.
Starting point is 00:10:51 Federal employees who lied about reduced employment have their employment reduced. They had it reduced entirely. This should almost be the good news article of the episode. I'm quite happy about this. Not that they did it, but... Here, 44 employees of Service Canada, the agency responsible for distributing Serb, were fired for having themselves taking advantage of emergency benefits from the federal government.
Starting point is 00:11:23 So they gave themselves Serb is essentially what happened. Yes. So they committed tax fraud as... as employees of Revenue Canada, and then when they got caught, they were fired. This is the kind of accountability that I would expect in a government. And honestly, I'm kind of surprised that, you know, with all this decreased transparency across the board, you know, you've got like we covered before where the governor general was blacking out the freedom of information access request for how much orange juice
Starting point is 00:11:59 she got on a flight. in this day and age, you'd think that the government would be like, look, we're transparent at least sometimes. We get some things right. This is something that everybody, regardless of party, well, I'm sure the liberals hated it because they like doing stuff like this
Starting point is 00:12:16 and they don't like being caught. But as a concept, this is just absolutely rock solid. It's great that it finally happened. When was the last time you heard of anybody in the public sector getting fired? That is a good point. Elizabeth Warren is a role model for people everywhere. People of all races is what I should have said.
Starting point is 00:12:40 Well, for those of you don't know, Elizabeth Warren, oh yeah, go ahead. Sure. No, no, no, no. You fire away too. Okay. Elizabeth Warren is a U.S. senator, I believe, who has stated for a long time that she was indigenous and then it got called into question and then Trump was calling her Pocahontas. And then she was like, look, I took.
Starting point is 00:13:01 a genealogy test, and it came back that I was one, one thousand, twenty-fourth Native American, which is interesting because if you, just statistic random noise, you would have about 2% of First Nations in any random person who is never, who is not First Nations at all. And so, anyway, it just was absolute bullshit that she, she's been saying this for years to further her political career that she's first nations when she's not. And I just lost you.
Starting point is 00:13:33 Did I lose you? No, I'm here. Did you say 2% of everybody has 2% First Nations in them? Yeah, so shoot. Well, no, it's not that 2% First Nations, it's just that it shows up in the genealogy thing where you'd be like, okay, well, if you take some
Starting point is 00:13:48 random guy from Sweden, it would show up as 2% First Nations because that's just kind of, from what I understand, the noise and the genetics. Sure. just not to give our listeners any bright ideas here oh no you should all totally do this because the whole system is fucking absurd this is the first article absolutely the first article reads a survey from intelligent found that 34% of white students
Starting point is 00:14:14 who applied to colleges and universities falsely claimed they were a racial minority on their application the publication found that 81% of students who fake minority status did so to improve their chances of getting accepted 50% of students who lied said did it to get a minority focused financial aid. And, you know, the second article, you know, you bring up Elizabeth Warren, and the second article is all about Terple LaFond, and she's the 2021, 2021 recipient of the Order of Canada, and is considered to be one of the most accomplished and decorated indigenous scholars in Canadian history.
Starting point is 00:14:51 She's also white as can be, and in looking into her family history, and I'm not one, I haven't done. And actually, it was a CBC-led brief show that they did on it. They actually did some good reporting. I'm like, wow, this is like they talked to like a 90-old from the, yes, they did. And exposed it pretty much, you know, unless they're missing something. They didn't come right out and say it. Yes.
Starting point is 00:15:17 Probably just to avoid any potential lawsuits. But they're like, here's somebody who grew up there saying that she's not from there. Here's somebody growing up in the other place where she did grow up saying that they're family was in First Nations. Here is the paper trail that doesn't exist where it would exist. Was she actually a treaty member which she has claimed in an interview with Pamela Wollen in like 1991? So this is just this decades long history of her pretending that she's been something that she presumably is not. But she's been on like it. She declined an interview. Yeah. And she's been on like basically turncoat ran.
Starting point is 00:15:56 Yeah, but the thing is, she's been like on the forefront, out in front of the Canadian public, she's been on like every major show, like everyone. And it's like, oh, this is the, how did it take this long for somebody to like question about it? But I guess it's a sensitive subject. So I don't know. Because it is a sensitive subject.
Starting point is 00:16:16 Questioning it is racist. And so you kind of just get this blanket, say whatever you want, do whatever you want kind of thing. And that's where I'm saying before. like this whole thing is patently absurd. So, yeah, if I don't think there's any legal recriminations from self-identifying as something that you're not. And if you get a job, go for it.
Starting point is 00:16:35 RSCMP stands with liberals, but not with each other. Now, I want to take a time here because this is the article, okay? This is the article where I start reading, and I see Doug Ford at the top. And I'm like, Doug Ford stands with Justin Trudeau. And I'm like, okay. Well, I wonder what these fuckers have to say, because I'm, you know, I'm watching the, uh, query into the emergencies act. And wouldn't you know, it's a new article.
Starting point is 00:16:58 So called, but yeah. Okay, anyways, they ask him on the thing about what Doug Ford thinks about the Emergency Act. And he goes on this like minute long talk, but at the end, he says, myself and the Prime Minister believe in free speech. But if you disrupt the lives of the people of Ottawa every single day and disrupt the lives of the economic flow across our borders, I have zero tolerance for it. And so here's what I got to say.
Starting point is 00:17:22 If you're living in the world of Ontario, Lockdowns? Those two jackass. Yeah, exactly. With those two jackasses, I tell you where you come. You come to Alberta where they just elected this lady called, I don't know, Daniel Smith,
Starting point is 00:17:34 and she seems to be pretty vocal about we're never going back to lockdowns. You've got all these wonderful companies. One of them sponsors this show, Rohan Rig Services. They've got all positions available. You can be direct competition to Mr. 222 minutes, show them how it's done, which I think would be great awesome. In a technical sense, you could be competition, but let's be honest.
Starting point is 00:17:54 You've got a long ways to go if you're going to come out green as grass. I'm just saying we can talk about the RCMP, but the article about the RCMP is like, you can bring it up to. I watched the video. I was so hot under the collar when they're just like, well, if you're going to disrupt the lives of the people, we get to do whatever we want. It's like, really?
Starting point is 00:18:16 And what about you jackasses for two years that did just about everything under the sun? What do we get to do to you, fucks? Anyways, carrying on. That's what I have to say about that. Fuck the RCMP's article. Get it out of here. Mathematical proof that Ottawa was a name. That was a nice little half-pause you put it at the end.
Starting point is 00:18:37 Yes. Here are the top ten partying cities in Canada, according to Uber. London, Ontario's one. Then Toronto, Kitchener, Waterloo, Kingston, Saskatoon, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Regina, Emmetton, and number 10, Ottawa. Yes. So I don't think it's a far stretch to think that a town which outlawed bouncy castles probably isn't a fun place to hang out.
Starting point is 00:19:09 I got nothing here. Like, what do you want me to say about Ottawa now? Yeah, like, it's a great little place. It just speaks for itself. Everything they've done in the last little bit leaves a pretty distinct taste in your mouth. If you're sitting in Ottawa, you want to come live it up. Come to number five, Saskatoon out in Saskatchewan. We'll show you a good time.
Starting point is 00:19:29 time. Absolutely. We'll go to the long branch. David, well, Suzuki goes full Biden. I was going to say, did you watch the video?
Starting point is 00:19:43 Yes, I did. Yes, I did. So we've got David Suzuki, so there was a press conference just announcing more money for a seaplane port, I guess you could say.
Starting point is 00:19:56 And then they had just the open mics where the press could go up and ask questions, and nobody was going up and asking questions. So David Suzuki strolls over there like a fucking peacock. He's like, I got this motherfuckers. And he gets up in front of the mic and just starts yelling and swearing at everybody
Starting point is 00:20:14 about how bad our response to, you know, about how ineffectual our government policies are in terms of addressing climate change, which is absolutely valid because I would say that attacks on something with an. Like, well, consumption tax on something with an inelastic demand won't decrease consumption. And so he's absolutely right. But he goes off yelling and swearing at them and then takes off in a sea plane at the end of it. So he's like, we need to save the climate. We need to do this.
Starting point is 00:20:51 We need to do that. And then he just takes off on a sea plane. And not just like, no, yeah. Irony, irony, these people just don't understand it. Let every bastard freeze in the dark. Yes, it's a, if you knew who Ralph Klein was, you'd understand the reference. Well, we're, the article's talking about, well, here, most Canadians who pay for natural gas or electricity can expect their bills to rise between 50
Starting point is 00:21:19 to 100% on average this winter, according to one energy analyst. Some consumers could see their bills rise as much as 300% while others could see minimal increases, but the overall trend is clear, says energy rates, CA founder, Joel McDonald's. So I don't think this is a shock to anyone. I could be wrong. I mean, it's a shock that in the fact that we live in the land of nothing but natural resources that that may be happening, but the ineptitude of Canada doesn't surprise me.
Starting point is 00:21:50 Well, you know, the funny thing is, is when the prices go up 3%, it's not as though people are only going to use one-third as much gas because it's got inelastic, demand. Because you can't just go without it. It's like, okay, well, you know, it's getting expensive, so we're just going to freeze all the pipes in our house instead.
Starting point is 00:22:15 You can't just shut off winter for the year. This isn't Florida. You can't shut off winter? Fucking thing. You can't blow out the sun and just, like, put us in everlasting darkness. You can't, you can't do that, too's? I just thought we could fuck with the economy
Starting point is 00:22:29 and then fuck with the environment, and it'd be great. That's what I thought we could do. You know what? Given how expensive, it is to burn fossil fuels? Maybe we should just burn them all so that climate change turns Canada into a tropical wonderland.
Starting point is 00:22:42 We don't have to do it anymore afterwards. That's what they're incentivizing. I think that's a great idea. We should just burn it all. Well, it'll be warm here for a little bit because we all know we're going into like dark, cold winter all over again and why not just make it expensive? Because, you know, that'll make sense and it's going to be great. It's just going to be great.
Starting point is 00:23:03 It's just great. Elon Musk Starlink complies with Ukraine's request angering Ukraine. You know, I got to be honest, he continues to amaze me with everything he does, okay? There's this giant war going on over across yonder, right? It's on everybody's like radar, blah, blah, blah, et cetera. And so here it is. Elon Musk Starlink says it can no longer afford to give Ukraine free service and ask the Pentagon to pay for it. Starlink had been a game changer in the war.
Starting point is 00:23:43 This comes days after Ukrainian ambassador, Andre Melnik, I hope I'm saying that right, told Musk to fuck off. And then his comment to this tweet is, we're just following his recommendation. Yeah, so this is Elon Musk tweeting about this on Twitter, not to be redundant. And so, yeah, that's literally what happened, was that Starlink had just been supplant. a whole bunch of internet for free to Ukraine. And then Ukraine told them to fuck off. And they said, okay, I guess you don't get any more free internet then. And someone else can pay for it or it just goes away.
Starting point is 00:24:21 So yeah, here's the thing about biting the hand that feeds you. Don't shit where you eat. There's probably a few other things like that. Sean just disappeared. I think he maybe just had to go drop a duke or something like that. So I'm just going to keep talking for a minute. I don't think he's got headphones with him. And if he does, I don't think you want to hear him.
Starting point is 00:24:42 But anyway, he's absolutely, I don't even know if he can hear me or not. So this is going to be really funny when he gets to it. And, yeah. Oh, hey, Sean, welcome back. Yeah, we were just talking about you. Short interlude. Short interlude. My computer was going to die.
Starting point is 00:24:55 You've been talking too long or something. Okay. All right. So, anyway, don't bite the hand that feeds you. and oddly enough, don't shit where you eat. And if you do, don't have headphones on
Starting point is 00:25:10 when you do it. Buzzer, please. You know, it's funny. When I did the Western standards... You're going to be so mad when you hear this. Go ahead. When I did the Westerns,
Starting point is 00:25:20 I'm going to go back and listen to it and edit it all out, all right? And so it doesn't... Anyways. No, no. We don't add it.
Starting point is 00:25:28 When Marty up north with me were in the Western Standard Studio, you got all, you know, you got this like fancy, you know, green screen and everything. They're putting my little go on the back, right?
Starting point is 00:25:37 Me and Marty are sitting there. We get going in like 10 minutes in. I don't have my computer plugged in. So I'm going. Trying not to make any sound on the mic, right? Because I'm like, my computer's both die. I'm like, and then what happens? I don't know what happens.
Starting point is 00:25:51 How do I keep it going from there? Anyways, haven't learned my lesson. Anyways, haven't learned my lesson. When are you got to go or you got to go? That's right. That's right. Okay. Federal gun grab meets increasingly unholstered pushback.
Starting point is 00:26:06 You know, this is pretty cool to watch unfold, to be honest. You know, everyone's like, oh, I'm like, yes, and that. But, okay, so you got the Yukon motion urging the Yukon government to ensure RC&P resources are not used to enforce federal government's gun confiscation. And then you got New Brunswick joining Alberta, Saskatchew, and Utah, and Yukon. So there's five. And, you know, you just, you see what one standing up can do. Like this is a nice
Starting point is 00:26:36 View of like when one province stands up multiple will If you stand up listener to something of injustice or whatever's going on Guess what? More people stand up and this is what happens And so it's really cool to watch unfold That you know it started here with Alberta And then it just keeps kind of you know That's a good idea oh and there's nothing they can oh all right
Starting point is 00:27:00 Well we're going to do that too and what do you know Now you got five provinces anyways pretty cool a little story. Absolutely. And even if it is only the five provinces, like I think it'd probably be a cold day in hell before Doug Ford got on board with that or John Horgan.
Starting point is 00:27:15 But, yeah, even at five provinces, that's enough where any reasonable person would look at it and say, well, you know what? Maybe the feds are kind of being dicks. Liberals have decided liberals to...
Starting point is 00:27:33 No way. Liberals take personal shot at twos. I'm missing one. I'm missing one. I'm sorry, twos. I'm sorry. Well, no, no, we got it. You almost missed it, but we got it. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the federal government would contribute as much as $2.22 million towards Rio Tinto LTD's plan to increase production of critical minerals and reduce carbon emissions at the global mining's giant iron and titanium oxide facility in Quebec. You think he's trolling you when he rolls out the number 222? Justin Trudeau, you listening to here? Justin Trudeau is committing $222 million of money that I personally gave him,
Starting point is 00:28:15 all $222,000, to fund a fucking EV mining facility in fucking Quebec, and you think it has nothing to do with me? I'm just wondering, you know, as I sit here and I'm talking, I'm like looking around the house, I'm like, is that rooster slurper listening to us? Because if he is, that's pretty cool. And we must have stirred up some shit in his office when we call him a rooster slurper. I'm waiting kind of for the door to crash in on me now if they're going to start funding projects in the face of 222.
Starting point is 00:28:45 You know? Like that is a pretty odd number. Everything gets $22 million. Everything gets $22 million. Yeah. And then not just the fact that it was $22 million, but it was $222212 million to fucking Quebec for the mining of stuff for EVs. Like he's just, he's based. Basically just trying to slap me in the face and I got to figure out I need to
Starting point is 00:29:09 He's got a long list to stand behind I think there's a few that would like to slap you in the face myself That's that's me Liberals now cash for kindness we on cash for kindness or little Why why why aren't you doing that one the liberals you got halfway through saying it and then we went back one because you missed one But we still have to do that decided liberals did not break the law. Yes, oh this is Mendocino I Oh, sorry. I apologize. This is Mendocino. So it's just a quick follow-up, but basically that whole thing about them backdating the court document in an attempt to mislead the judge,
Starting point is 00:29:48 the liberals took a vote on it, and the liberals decided that it didn't break a law, and that's the end of it. You have to forgive me. I got confused. I was like, I feel like I've read this headline already. I'm going back to federal employees lied about reduced employment having their employment reduce. And for some reason, it sounds an awful like, an awful lot like, liberals have decided liberals did not break the law. Anyways, I just equate the two as our government being a little bit, you know, inept. Anyways. This would be like if those Revenue Canada employees got to vote on whether or not what they did was wrong and then kept their jobs afterwards. Yeah, yeah, this one, a report independent by media outlet, Blacklaw,
Starting point is 00:30:31 reported last week suggested Mendocino backdated government documents in apparent bid to mislead a federal judge I think we've talked about that enough basically the deputy minister insisted the letter was a simple case of human error and it was quickly corrected and then they had a vote you know should they pursue looking into this and the urgent meeting and debated whether they should investigate the error and the idea was defeated six to five okay so So how is this for a crazy idea for a law in Canada? Whenever there is a vote on some kind of a committee like this,
Starting point is 00:31:10 if it's something to do with the liberals, the liberals don't get a vote in it. If it's something to do with the conservatives, they don't get a vote and so on and so forth. Right? If it's the Green Party, well, there's already, there's not enough to have a committee, so it's a moot point.
Starting point is 00:31:25 Right? But would it be so weird to just say that if you are the people on trial here, you don't get a spot in the jury bench. Yeah, conflict to interest. Like, tell me I'm crazy. Well, I mean, the thing is, is if you put the conservatives against the liberals, liberals against conservatives,
Starting point is 00:31:42 they're always going to investigate always. But maybe that is... But yeah, I was going to say, maybe that isn't such a bad thing, you know? Like, when there's such a conflict of interest, I mean, it's almost laughable. That's why the story, I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone or something. I've been here before.
Starting point is 00:31:58 Like, I feel like we just talked about this, but that's because it's a different version of this every week but let's be honest the people in ottawa are fucking vampires and the worst thing you could do to vampires daylight how about we do buzzers not what are you going to do what are you going to do what are you going to do you're trying to click the buzzer it doesn't want to work so we should give it serb we probably should so let's do this let's do a little happy news at the end you know i feel like my brain's a little foggy could be the carnivore diet i don't know or could it just be the fact that that we're into week 26 and the same fucking headlines keep coming up about the same dumbass
Starting point is 00:32:40 Mendocino and I'm just like my mind is a little bit like come on anyways cash for kindness in California I thought that I think you did a good job this week uh Tuesday to find in this one professor Alan Ross has named it the Chris kindness award and recognizes one person every month for their kindness the person is then rewarded with a thousand dollar prize and Ross named the award after Chris Walton the greatest teacher he had had or known, sorry, greatest teacher ever known. Walton was a preschool teacher in Berkeley. And he was quoted as saying,
Starting point is 00:33:12 we believe kindness can change the world around us. I would tend to agree with that last note. Yeah, I think that, I think this is great and just everything about it, like even how he named it after a teacher. Like who was the best teacher? You know, did you have one teacher that really stood out? I've had him on the podcast multiple times, actually. Professor Paul Shue, he was my history guy.
Starting point is 00:33:35 Oh, yeah, the, the prophet. from down in the States. Yeah, he was fantastic. He brought me back to enjoying school again, right? Like his lectures were something else. You twos? Did you have a favorite teacher? Did you go to school even?
Starting point is 00:33:51 Graduated in grade four or what? Yeah, I went to, I've got more schooling than you would think. School of Hard Knots? But a little bit of everything, I think you could say. But in high school, he taught, biology and maths and calculus and he was also the football coach and more so on the football side but just so many stuff so many things that just carry over in life that you still think about from day to day that was pretty cool those are those are cool teachers well um i think that wraps
Starting point is 00:34:26 it up for week 26 big fella and we've had a couple of bloopers you know i'm sure people are going to love whatever you said when i jumped off i'll look forward to listening tomorrow i'll be a man of my word and not look because twos is grinning from either ear so i'm sure it will make a few people chuckle tomorrow um including myself as i curse it when i listen to it um but appreciate it once again we we kind of did a little weird this time with rohan you know normally i like to open up and say hey thanks to our sponsor and still i'm like hey by the way rohan's sponsoring this and uh i'll talk about it later you know uh but it they are hiring for all services that is in the show notes 2's QDM and Lloyd Minster November 5th.
Starting point is 00:35:04 There still are tickets available, but only for a couple more days. I don't even know what day that is. It's the 18th as you're listening to this. You got until the 20th to get tickets. Anything from you, twos, before I kick you off. Ooh. Why are we shutting it down last minute? There's a lot of people in that town that don't really know what they're doing from day to day.
Starting point is 00:35:22 It's true. I might... Are you just got to get finalized numbers for the venue? For the casino. So I can extend it, but then you're gamut. on who's coming. And so right now we're just under 50 tickets left. And so maybe I'll just, you know, see if we can sell 50 tickets in two weeks. I don't know. What does the listener think of that? You, you shoot me text and tell him an idiot if you're from Lloyd Minster and be like,
Starting point is 00:35:47 hold on on those tickets. I know it's last minute Lloyd Minster. But at the same time, I have to know a number for the 20th. So I got a choice to make. Okay. What are you thinking? Worst case scenario. What do you think of two? You're staring at me. I know I got some buddies in Lloyd that are like it's going to be a game time decision. And so, yeah, I think, I don't know, maybe. So, you know, keep a couple of them open anyways. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:36:20 Like, if you had 15 or 20, I'm sure that they would go last minute. You're probably right. You're probably right. All I'm saying is, is if you're already thinking about it, just do it. And it'll save me a lot of problems. I can just hold on to if there's any action. access in or not, you know, people are like, this is, this is an interesting side of the Tuesday mashup, a little business coaching from twos to Sean or Sean to Tuesday. I don't know. Who knows?
Starting point is 00:36:41 You're getting some insight. Tuesday knows a thing or two about business. Yeah, because he went to grade six and Old Town Saskatchewan, eh? Nobody can see this, but I'm flipping him off right now. And nobody knows this, but twos has higher schooling than I do, I think. Anyways, you get the point. Thanks for tuning in for week 26. appreciate everybody tuning in and by all means if you are sitting in the northern part of this country you're in uh newfoundland the rock or you're in pei one of the territories hit us up i want to know
Starting point is 00:37:17 if you're listening up there uh because i think it's pretty cool that we've almost knocked off the entire country now we're closing in Quebec Quebec hasn't fired us a text either have they too no and I know people in Quebec that listen to the show so I'm going to give them hell. Well, show notes. Show notes if you're listening on my side. Shoot me a text. We'll get it on the next one.
