I'm joined by the Brothers in Rall in the studio for another Brothers Roundtable. And we're going to start off with a little Blue Jays baseball. Is that what we're talking to start? Is that what we're going to do? Oh, that's what we were just talking about. Okay. Well, fire away. Well, we're just saying that they're probably not making the playoffs this year.

What are you doing the off season? Who's gone? You got to do something. Is there no way they can make it? What did you say they are? 24 games back right now. 28 and 32. Yeah, there's a way they can make it.

They've got to go like 30 and 10 over the next 40 to get back into her. Well, they're not winning the East. The question is can they scrape into our last wild cards? So you're saying there's a chance. Because you say they're last in the East, which is correct. At the same time, the East is the strongest division in all of baseball.

Right. because they're four games under 500, which isn't great, but it's not that bad. Right. No, it's not that bad, but it's the same old thing we talk about with the playoffs. It's, oh, you're only six points out, but look, you've got the four teams you've got to catch. I'm not saying it's good. Like they need to go on a heater.

Yeah, like the Oilers did. Yeah. 16 in a row, and then maybe you get you back in the chance. Yeah, but they're not good enough to do that. That's the problem. Wow. So who are you getting rid of? Are you trading right Kirk now?

Man, what a... How many times... I wonder if they could trade Varshal back for Marino. Throwing Kirk. Are you getting rid of the GM? I think the GM's got to go. I think so too, actually, now that we're sitting here talking about it. Yes.

I don't know, but... To get rid of Marino, that was... We all agree on that one. That was dumb. I don't know what you do with the Blue Jays. I really don't. We're not a terrible team. Everybody's in a slump over a year,

they're just not good enough. That's right. They're missing something because everybody's in a slump. When everybody's in a slump, they're missing something. All right, well, so are they trading Bichette or Bledi, or are they penciled in the lineup

as your base for next year? How do you improve if you trade Bichet and Bleddy, though? Okay, so there you go. So are you getting rid of Springer? Probably. You getting rid of Arshow? At the deadline, I'd trade Springer, I think. Yeah.

Far show, sure. Farshow, sure. Kerrmeier. Keirmeier, sure. Yeah. I don't think, who's not on the table is a better question. Vladdy. Vladdy and Bichette, I think.

I wouldn't be trading Vladdy. You're not going to get anything from Mnual, you know, like there's got to be a little bit of that there too. Manoa. Right. Right. Right. Yeah.

Or certain guys, like, it'd be nice to come back with a semblance. I don't think they're starting pitchers of the guys that are killing them. Well, they can't score runs. That's right. Which is funny with that lineup, isn't it? As soon as you trade Bichette or Vladi, now all of a sudden it's almost like rebuild time all over again. No, there's no point doing it.

I don't like anybody would be. So you're retooling on the fly, hey, Harals? I guess so. Can we talk about the thing we came here for? I don't want to talk about stupid. Welcome to a brother's round table where you thought we were going to come in and blast you with Emmington Oilers for half an hour, but we started out with two minutes, four minutes of Blue Jays talk.

How will we start with the silver coin? Oh, look at that. Look at that going into Sean's pile. That's right. Sean got the right. The Oilers win back-to-back games and finish it off. And I was the closest to on score in the final. We got last again?

Well, the Pink Cup for another week goes to the Kalani Pink Cup, I should point out, goes to Jason Newman. I was just playing the odds, guys. All three you guys with Emerton, playing the odds. I had a 50% chance. That's four pig cups. We should have a little banner for Jay over there. Every time he gets a pig cup,

I was hoping that I could win more silver coins than he won pink cups, but he's just better than me. You know, probably this will get Jay back in the good graces. This is probably the most important thing for the listening that they can't see it. This is the game puck from Friday. We play noon hour hockey together. And all of 2024, I have not won a series. It has been a sad state of affairs. In game eight, we finally got into.

In June. There you go. Until June for Sean. And you know how he had to get her done? The oldest brother had to come, jump onto the team. team. And yet, and yet, jump on to the back end. And yet. Sean scored a hat trick and we beat the other two brothers nine to three. And yet. And yet? The other two brothers were on the other team compared to you guys. And how'd that go for you guys? No, no, no. I'll tell you. I'll tell you what, Harle's. I'll tell you what, Harle's. When the games mean something, me and Sean show up. Game one today and Harley's winning a championship. So where has Sean been for the last six? months then. He just needed his older brother to jump on. I feel like you're Vancouver. I'm still celebrating Friday. It's been six months of not doing nothing and finally got to take

care of. You know, we celebrate in game one. I didn't even sound like Vancouver. Can we talk about the Oilers already? I didn't even see, I didn't really see Dustin Hardy show up Friday, actually, Sean. Can we talk about the Oilers already? We talk about playoffs? I had one goal against out of that whole mess. How about those Emmington Oilers making a Stanley Cup finals? It has been close to 20 years, 18, 18 years to get back to the Stanley Cup finals. Can I just point out as a guy with the pink cup that they sure did in style getting outshot 35 to 10? You know, game six? Did game six not seem like a game of destiny or something?

Just like that. Sean, what are you doing? A game of destiny? What do you do? What I mean is they got outplayed horribly, but didn't it seem like the whole game? Sean's got 10. His podcast is this here? Like, you know, if anyone of us would be doing this right now, you'd be becoming,

unglued on us. And might I point out, now you're not allowed to go get lunch. And meanwhile, he's the only one eating right now. Chewy's. Oh, my God. What I mean by Game 6 is that it seemed like a game of destiny where they're just destined to win, no matter how bad

they got outshot. It just seemed like that game. I agree with you. I mean, if you're Dallas, you sit there and go, now what? Well, exactly. What more could you have done? I know. Ported on. Yeah.

It just is destiny for me to win the pink cup again, guys. Hey? 35 to 10. What I mean? So how did everybody do with their final four, final two picks? I got both my picks into the final. You were Emmetton, Florida, right from the start?

Eminton, Florida from the start. I was Eminton, Rangers. I was Emmington, Carolina. Eminton, Carolina. And I was also, Emerton, Carolina, with Florida and Dallas in my final four. You know what? That probably means I'm winning the whole bracket. Not all that.

He does. probably does. Well, I'm pulling, I'm pulling up. I mean out of the brothers. Maybe not out of Sean's whole thing. I'm winning. He says patting himself on the back. Here we go.

We're just making up rules here. Hey, Jay's the biggest winner right now. I guarantee I'm ahead of you for guys. Jay's winning two, Dost. I pick the two finalists. Okay. Number one is Blair's dad's bracket with 273 points.

number two is, and Drew McKay text me last night, AMC Electrical's bracket is at 258, and Dustin Newman in third at 257 points. So not winning. So the two above me, did they pick Eminton as well to win it? Okay. So the number one bracket has Emmington beating Florida in the finals. Yeah.

They had Dallas and the Rangers in their final four. There you go. So I can't catch them. And then Drew, and then Drew, and then Drew, McKay, let's take a look at AMC. He's got Eminton beating Florida as well. So the guy's already won, then.

Guy in first has already won. Mm-hmm. Right? You could give the trophy right now. Yep. Tie-breaker 33. But there's no one of the brothers are ahead of me. That's what I'm saying, though.

Right? Tie-breaker, it says tiebreaker is, well, I guess he's a point up on him, though. So it doesn't matter. Right. It doesn't matter. Doesn't matter. Doesn't matter.

So, yes, it's looking like, well, depending. The Dustin win any money for third? He does. he wins a silver coin. Oh, here we go. It's adding another silver coin. And then dead last, dead last. Let's see if it's still,

because she picked the Emmett's knowledge to win, didn't she? Yeah, she did. Okay, so dead last rate now. Where are you? She's no longer in dead last. Because Emmett to made the final. Because Emmett made the final. The dead last bracket is looking to be,

On the old NHRAQPL bracket So if there's a silver coin for dead last Maybe I should be getting silver coins instead of pink cups. No, that's not the way the brothers operate. That's not the way that this works here. We just want to have a little bit of fun. Well, and so I'm going to win out of the brothers on that one,

the highest score out of the bracket, but I'm probably also going to win the Don's Cup as well. So there's nothing saying that you're winning. Who is in? Harley's out of players, and I'm down by 11 points and I have nine Emmington Oilers. It's funny. It's possible.

So you're saying there's a chance. Kevin Lane's going to win the Never Sweat draft, and he wasn't even there. We drafted his team for him. You drafted his team for him? This is true. Yes. He's going to beat me.

So I will point out the last brother's round table. I don't know if you guys remember this, but I remember this. I said, you know what they should do, I think? If there's one guy that should pull out line up. Of course you remember it, Dust. After game four, they won. I said, Derek Ryan would be the guy I'd pull out because he didn't look quite himself. They pulled him out and threw in Sam Carrick and Sam Carrick and Sam Carrey.

Well, maybe no blocks listening to the show, Dust. Yeah, maybe. Yeah, he's shoulder tap and dust. What do you think? So now you're going into game one. You've got this extended break. There is no tired players. So who is your lineup?

My lineup? My lineup is all my toughest guys. So Broberg's back out. Desirene's in. Perry's in. Carrick's in. All them type of players are in. Derek Ryan's out for me.

Broberg's out. Hopefully Henrique's ready to go. McLeod? Henrik played the last couple games. Yeah. So he should be good. Who else? Who's my options?

McLeod. or Yanmark? No, Janmark's in. Fogel. Fogel's in. Holloway. Fogel hasn't played in three games. Because he was hurt or?

No, no, because he got out of south. He scratched. Well, so do you go Fogel and Ryan as your two out? Well, here's the thing is you go, what is my best lineup at this point? No, but I feel like the game one against Florida is going to be a throw him down, beat the crap out of everybody.

And so I want my toughest lineup I got, and I want Perry Dragon us into the fight and let's go, boys. because also you've had a week off so everybody's kind of you know that edge is down a little bit so you need to get right back and going as quickly as possible from going and playing it every second night for pretty much two months straight right almost there's going to be definitely a light down in game one right so how do you get back from the let down as quick as possible because i mean um bennett and kachuk are going to come out there and start throwing down first shift and so i want pushback i might start you don't want to you don't want to you don't want to try and beat them with the one thing you noticed about Broberg against Dallas specifically, I thought, compared to Dernay was his speed. He was fast. He was getting back to Pucks and moving them quick.

He thinks the game better than Doreen as well. So you know what Florida is going to offer. But Florida's different than Dallas. Dallas was very a controlled team, not taking a lot of penalties, not in your face. Florida coming out, game one, is going to be totally different. Florida hits way more than the other three teams. Do we have that stat anywhere? How much does Florida throwing for hits?

versus the oilers. Well, the thing I noticed watching Florida and why they're so good is they're very good at winning puck battles in the corner. And part of it's hitting, yes, but part of it is they're just very good at winning puck battles. Yeah, I don't know. I'm not saying I'm not playing Broberg or Derek Ryan

or anybody the whole series. I'm just game one. I kind of, and hey, if it gets to be we've got power plays and we're up and we don't need that, you can sit them on the bench. Top two hit leaders in the NHL playoffs are Ragcoe Gutis, Florida, and Sam Bennett. Florida. Gootis plays in the...

Oh, wait a sec. This is a year old. Come on. Come on. Come on, sight. That was 2023 playoffs. Come on. 2024.

I suppose Vegas is in the final two now, Sean. Hey? If you weren't paying attention to the dinosaur so much, maybe we'd have... Here, here, here. 2024 playoffs. It was... No. Here.

How about this? Van der Kaine is the man who's hit the most that's still, left in the playoffs. After that, you scroll down, and it's Aaronack Bladhoff, Florida. 54. Dylan Holloway is above them. So right now the top two hitters in the playoffs is Emmetlander in Florida.

The guy who's number one was Dakota Joshua from Vancouver. For the Oilers to win this series, to me, it's special teams. I agree 100% with you. They got a, wow, Florida's going to take more penalties in Dallas Everton. And if Oilers' power play keeps going, and I don't see why it can't. And their penalty kill stays, you know, it probably won't stay perfect again, but if it can be good, so are you putting

in, so the guys that I'm putting in doesn't affect the power play at all. No, you just got to have the right penalty kill guys, but you still got penalty kill guys anywhere. So, so who are you guys started that's different than me? Well, I think I'd leave Broberg in myself. I liked how he got to Pucks and move fast. To me, like, it was evident. You could see it. And I am a day or fan. I like how big he is. I'm good with Carrick in over Ryan for sure. I think you need to get Fogel back in sooner or later. He's been out of the lineup for too long and he's too good to go for you. Well, if you keep your second line the same, your first line the same, the second line the same. Fogel goes in the third line maybe with Kane and Henrique. Right. Okay. And then your fourth line,

you've got Carrick with... Yanmark and... MacLeod? no McLeod would be on your second line with Perry and dry side on your second line sure why not I'll say this about sorry I'm counting up the guys off of Florida

they have eight in what looks to be the top 25 where the oilers have two in the top ten and after that they have nobody so that's when you talk about hitting they come at you as a group that are all going to lay the body. This is going to be a great series.

Oh, yeah. Florida's a great team. The guy you're missing is Connor Brown. Sharks for Connor Brown in the fourth line. Connor Brown has to play. And Corey Perry. He's been playing well. Cory Perry's on your second line.

Right, so you're leaving Perry in. You're leaving Perry on the second line. They've done jack squat. See, I agree with Shaw. I'm not leaving the second line like it is. I'm putting Cane and Hallway back with Dry Seidel. No hallway is the guy who's missing But I'm putting

I'm keeping Perry in the lineup Carrick's coming in my two healthy scratches are going to be Derek Ryan And I'm okay I see your point with Fogles But I'm okay with Fogel McLeod or Connor Brown One of them three sitting I'm not in the room

So I don't 100% are you putting Henrik back on the top line And moving Nuge down to the third line No I think Henrique actually I like that Hyman McDavid Nuge and Henrique is a perfect third line center he's an offensive guy 200 foot player

I mean most most teams he's a top six guy right all I was getting out was he when before he got hurt he was playing top line and they were doing quite well with him playing top line too right so do you think do you think he's a better centerman than nudge for your third life the only thing is is yes henrique is one of the top penalty killers throughout the entire league right that's why they brought him in so I guess that probably has

is a question right there. Nuge is a nice winger, as I put it. Yeah, well, he gives you talent beside McDavid and Hyman. Yes, and he's responsible, but he's just not quite strong enough to be a centerman. Yeah, and he can do it in a pinch. He's a smart player, but I think he adds more than Henrique to the top

line, and Henrique adds more as the third line. I know one of the criticisms of Oilers fans over the roller coaster ride has been has been Stuart Skinner. All the criticisms that came when Pickard came in, played well, had over a 900 save percentage, one one game, lost the next.

We argued about it. I don't know if it was in here, but certainly we argued about them starting Skinner, and he looked shaky in his first start back, and then, you know. He's gotten stronger and stronger and stronger. And at times he still let in some weak goals by no, you know, but at the same time, you know, getting outshot 35, 10, 36, 10, whatever the heck it was there in game 6. he was your best player and if he can continue that onwards

would you take Bobrovsky over him? Yes, nobody's... If you bring up Ottinger, Shostirkin, Bobrovsky, Skinner's still at the bottom of the heap, sadly, for Oilers fans, but he has shown he can be the guy, which has been, I don't know, for this guy, surprising because after the LA series, when he was doing that stutter step to get to the post,

I didn't know if he could get it back and he's found a way, he's proved me wrong. Skinner just has to be, like remember when Osgood was winning trophies? Like, that's what he has to be. He doesn't have to be flashy. He had the best career for the most average goalie. Absolutely. He just has to be sound.

He has to be 900 safe percentage. I still think this comes down to the Oilers PowerPlay. Well, I mean, they went four for five in the last two games against Dallas. But what I mean by that is if the Oilers don't score into power play, Florida will run them out of the rank. Because that's how Florida, if you watch the games against the Rangers, Florida was hitting way more than the Rangers, the Oilers, the Oilers, and Dallas. So that's what they're going to do.

So they're going to take more penalties. They have to be petrified. I've taken penalties against Eminton, don't they? I think Florida does not seem like a petrified team. No, no, no. But what I mean is, is the first thing the coach is saying to that team is stay out of the box, isn't it? I know. I think if I'm McGuire, you know what I'm saying?

Let's go give them everything we got here in game one and see what these boys are made of. Yeah. And if they score five power play goals, and we'll readjust for game two. But I'm coming out trying to. If I'm coaching against, if I'm coaching against. The thing I'm worried about is their power play. It's the best that has... Dallas worried about the power play.

That's what I was going to say. Nobody has come against the oilers. The best way to beat the Oilers is to pound on them. Think of how Vegas beat them last year. Remember Peter Angelo took that two-hander at dry saddle? Like, they started to really try and intimidate them. And I think if I'm coaching Florida, that's how we keep playing the same style. They don't even have to change because that's what they've been doing.

That's what they did to the Rangers. Did you say McGuire? Sorry. I did say McGuire, didn't I? Like, are you talking about Pierre McGuire? Who are you talking about here? I'm talking about the Florida coach. It is pretty crazy, though.

The Oilers, the Oilers P.K. Yeah, Maurice. Paul Maurice. McGuire. The Oilers P.K. In the regular season was 79.5. 100%. Like, they just, they keep, continue that, and then run a 50%.

I mean, like, I don't even, how am I saying? We're at 25%. We're a 25% power. penalty kill in the playoffs is like 93.5%. All I'm saying is in the regular season it was 79.5. Take away the last, what has it been, 26 opportunities? They've been 100%. I still think though every series is different.

And Florida brings a different challenge. The only concern that I have with going what you're talking about is is the series long enough to the point where it can impact the series, right? to me if this was this is the fourth round of playoffs they haven't had any time off and emminton's been getting pounded on and pounded on and pounded on but they haven't been did you think dallas pounded on emminton no that's what i'm saying is is is certainly wondering if seven games is enough of attrition to actually make a play a factor well i guess what i'm hoping if i'm if you're taking it the other thing is is that you've got not just two days

between games. Some of them are three days between once you start after a week off. Sometimes everybody thinks when you're hitting, though, it's drive-s-sidal McDavid. But I'm also talking about Kulak and Cici and at Broberg's in and Bouchard. And like I'm talking about some different guys that, you know, I want every time Bouchard touches a puck, I want to see his nose in the glass. I've been impressed at Bouchard for multiple things because I've been heard on watching him play some of the giveaways, the weakness. And he's been hit a lot. and bounces up and continues to make the great plays.

He has impressed the crap out of me when it comes to how much punishment he's taken because Vancouver did that. L.A. did that. You know, Dallas, for the most part, did that as well. Like, they targeted Bouchard. Bouchard is getting run more than I think any different – Boyer defensemen, rightfully so. And you're talking about hitting a defenseman,

but at the same time, too, the last series that I noticed anyways, was how many times they run Shasturkin, right? Like, not running them, but... No, no, no, but bumping. Bumping into them. Oops. I fell over. All of a time.

Accidentally just fell on top of them, right? Oh, I didn't mean to push into the net. You know, that's Florida, right? And so how much does that play into, you know, if Skinner is starting to find his game, you're trying to get him off that again, right? I agree, how's going to be some of the Florida... For some reason, out of some goalies that bothers,

and I can see Shasturkin, that bothers. being an issue, I don't see that as being an issue with Skinner. I don't, not unless he gets hurt, but I don't think guys bumping into him. I don't think that affects him as much as a guy. I just don't think it does. You know, we were talking, we were talking to a few different team stats. Emmonson is right now leading, obviously, the NHL playoffs, 37.3 percentage on their power play.

Obviously, the last two games against Dallas and went 80%. The Florida Panthers sitting at 23.3%. So that's going to be the tail of the tape right there. If you're the Oilers coach, you're sitting there going, boys, let's play hard, let's take care of our own zone, and we've got to hit them on the power play, and we've got to kill the penalties. And if you're Florida, we're going to go out there and try and intimidate you, and if you guys can't score in the power play, we win the series. Vegas, Florida is the number one team left. Nashville was the number one for goals against per game, 2.29. So, you know, you're the Amitton Oilers. It's going to be in three, two games. Three two games is most likely.

Florida doesn't give up any shots either. I'll mention this again. Those teams, they were out shooting them bad. I'll mention this again on air. The gap between Emmington and Florida is 4.2. Eminton for this, we're talking special teams. So Florida, Emmington was at 6.1 on the penalty kill. Florida, 7.

On the power play, 14.4 for Eminton, Florida was number 2 at 10.2. So the gap between Emmington and Florida, and per 60 is, 4.2. Gap between Florida and Anaheim, who was dead last during the regular season, was 3.4. So Eminton is actually further away from Florida than Florida is from the dead last team, right? So special teams is where I'm going with this. Special teams is going to be monumental. And this is where I go back to. Florida's got to stay out of the box. Florida, the number one penalized team in the playoffs, 207 minutes. The next closest, Boston at 191 followed by

Emmington at 171. You're going to be trying to play physical. You're going to naturally take more penalties, right? The only thing you're going to say, if you're the coach of Florida, you're also going to say, we're going to go out there and bang. We're going to be aggressive like what it has been. We want them to retaliate. So the focus is that you're initiating, they're retaliating.

And if Florida can get that to happen, that's what the goal is. So it can't be where Kachuk goes in or hits somebody, somebody, somebody pushes him and he slashes him. It's got to be he hits and skates away, which Kachuk will do. Okay. So for... Is this why you brought in, you know, a cane and a pair you might help.

And, you know, they do the same thing. Yeah, right. This is, they haven't done much up until this point, but this is where those guys need to step in to their roles. Well, this is. True, but, but Sean just said that Van der Kaine's leading the playoffs and hits. It hits. Correct.

Or was that last year? No, no, this is this year. This year. He's, he's the number one guy at the top. Out of the two teams up. And he's, I mean, really, that's, he is at least contributing. That's the same thing with Holloway. Holloway is right behind them

right and Holloway yeah for the next bet then we're going we're going to write Jay you know he's had so many strings of pink cups folks he's got new rules going so what his rule is is we're all going to write it down on a piece of paper and then show

the piece of paper we're going goals total goals total goals in the first two games oh in the first two games right so Florida Amethon Florida Amethon total total right and so what happens if we pick the same I think then the two guys that picked the same got to say how many goals, Eminton scores, how many Florida scores? And that'll be the deciding factor.

All right. Need a minute? There's two games, Charles. Yeah, I know. I know, I know. Two teams are playing. Evanton in Florida. Hey.

I need a pen here. Oh, we're still waiting on, Sean. All right. Okay, flip them over. Jay, since you're pink. cup. What number you got? Number 11. Number 11, dust. Number nine.

Harles? 13. And I guess I'm the lowest at eight. Ooh. So what happens if 10? Well, what do you... Then it's... Then it's... So we got to mark down... I'm eight or less. And... No, no, no, but then we got to mark down. How many oilers get, how many Florida gets, right? So there's a tiebreak there? But there is no tie break. Nobody has the same amount.

Yeah. What happened if there's 10? 10. Because they got 9 and 11. See what I mean. You two do. So. And also us. You're 13.
