Starting point is 00:00:02 Welcome to the MASHO Tell me whether I'm wrong or right Easter west up or down side to side I sit to stand and fall to fly Of all of my impulsive plans Popping locking salsa dances on demand I follow leading off the map I stop the chatter scream happily
Starting point is 00:00:17 Welcome to the Masha Welcome to the MASHup Welcome to the MASH up Welcome to the MASH up Welcome to the Masha Morning everybody Instead of a rant I'm going to give a shout out to Marks
Starting point is 00:00:36 So the place I used to get my work boots from got taken over by people who have body odor and don't speak English very well. And I went in there and had an incredibly frustrating experience. I said, screw it. Went down the street to Marks. But, well, bought a lousy pair of boots because they were just about sold out of everything. Because it was right at the end of spring breakup where everybody's buying new boots. and anyways they came with a hundred day warranty
Starting point is 00:01:09 104 days later they split so I took them in and they honored it they were just like yeah yeah sure whatever you know it's it's a little bit you know past but but we'll we'll go ahead and honor the warranty
Starting point is 00:01:25 even though it had expired 96 hours ago and I think that was pretty cool because a lot of big companies you'd expect they'd be like well this is what it says on paper, so screw you. And it's just a coincidence that every damn time a warranty expires, it's right after that something breaks.
Starting point is 00:01:45 But yeah, they gave me a store credit, and I got a new better pair of boots because they had more stuff in stock. So, hey, thanks a lot, Marks. You guys are awesome. I literally missed all your story. I assume I'm the one glitching, but I disappeared for a bit. Sounds like Marks is pretty sweet.
Starting point is 00:02:03 How's everybody doing it? today. Mashup 220. We're two away from the big one. The warranty on my boots had expired four days before I took them in, and they honored the warranty anyway. That's pretty sweet. Yeah. Yeah, my rigging today is pretty ugly. I'm not going to lie, but we're making it work. So mashup 220. Coming from the northern side of Lake's Superior. Well, that's all right. I mean, I like the background noise. It's, it's, it's,
Starting point is 00:02:37 calm, it's soothing. It makes me want to catch fish and eat them. We did catch some fish a few days ago and we ate them and they were dead. Nice. Yes. Now, for everyone today, I have no idea what's coming for us. This could be after last week and the week before and the week before. It kind of feels like we've been all over the place of the mashup. And this week's going to be no different. Yeah, yeah, maybe we should just lead by saying sorry for last week, everybody.
Starting point is 00:03:07 I don't know. Yeah, I had some comments come in and said they enjoyed it, so I don't know. I'm just going, the mashup has been a little bit of a tire fire for the boat the last month, which is July anyways. And this week, Sean knows not wrote a single article. I'm lucky I even got, I hope I hope this lasts. So buckle up because I have no notes. I have nothing to read. I'm just here.
Starting point is 00:03:35 Okay, well, let's start off with talking about Airborne Friday and how Jamie and Willie had an incredibly awesome event where they had a giant turnout, multiples of what previous events were, and it was so well received that they had to shut the bar down early because they ran out of cups and ice. They ran out of cups and ice? Yes. Yes. There was no more ice to be found.
Starting point is 00:04:08 There were no more cups to be found. They were telling people for a while to just bring back your old cups. And, yeah, that's how busy it got that they ran out of the accoutrements associated with the debauchery. I don't know why they didn't just switch to beer, but whatever. Oh, because they had kegs, so you needed the cups regardless. Can they have just driven to Regina? I'm sure they had thought all these things. It doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:04:35 I'm happy for you guys. I hope it was a great event. Sounds like it was. And I just assume they'd be on this week talking about it. But Jamie must be out mowing grass. So, you know, life goes on. Yep, absolutely. Okay, now, Coot's 6 and a half.
Starting point is 00:04:51 This one's kind of fun and interesting. We have a teacher's assistant, a lady teacher's assistant, who, her name is Brooke Richard. Now, just for the record, any time you have someone named Brooke in any sort of an educational capacity, I 100% guarantee you she's going to be banging the students.
Starting point is 00:05:14 But in this case, this is especially interesting because, first off, there are no pictures of this woman to be found on the internet. Because like everybody else, it's the same thing. Whenever a woman gets kidnapped or convicted as a teacher slash sex offender, the first thing,
Starting point is 00:05:33 you want to know was was she hot? And it still remains a mystery on this lady. I don't know. I've got nothing to report on her level of hotness as she was sending pictures of herself in lingerie
Starting point is 00:05:49 in exchange for dickpicks from one of the students and then was banging him. The really big, interesting part of this is that the Crown and defense had requested four and three years sentences respectively.
Starting point is 00:06:04 So her defense had asked for a three-year sentence. And the crown said, you deserve four. And then you'd think by way of normal negotiations, the answer would be somewhere in the middle. Three and a half. It was not because if we go back to the headline, she got sentenced to less than what the defense was asking for. And also, maybe she's hot. I got a feeling she's either, like, there's no middle ground with this one. because there's no pictures, it's suspicious.
Starting point is 00:06:40 She's either going to be a train wreck or she's going to be an absolute rocket. And girls, maybe you just need to go down to the courthouse, uh, tues. Do some investigating. Go to the jail because that's where she is now. I mean, you, you could go to the courthouse and just ask. Well, here's the thing is Brooks. There's, there's no middle ground with Brooks.
Starting point is 00:07:06 that generally speaking, if your name is Brooke, it's all right. Judge gives dangerous refugee drug dealer more time to dodge deportation. Now, this situation is a little bit complicated. This is a Somali nationalist whose parents were displaced to Saudi Arabia in the 90s. He was born in Saudi Arabia. It doesn't speak Somali. He speaks Arabic.
Starting point is 00:07:33 He came to Canada where he, was a drug dealer and also a rapist and then he pled guilty but he's now saying that he shouldn't he's wanting to walk back his confession sorry it wasn't that he pled guilty he confessed to all this stuff and he's saying that if he'd have understood
Starting point is 00:07:57 the implications of the confession it would have been differently so it's not did he do it or did he not do it it's that he didn't understand that by confessing to doing this, he was setting himself up for an automatic deportation. And so the judge has given him more time to try and figure that out rather than just saying, look, you obviously did this.
Starting point is 00:08:19 It doesn't fucking matter. Get the hell out of this country. And then they're bringing up the whole thing about how he would be deported to Somalia, despite the fact that he's never been to that country before. It doesn't fucking matter. This is the soup sandwich that you, made and I don't care how fucked up it is. It's your soup sandwich
Starting point is 00:08:39 so deal with it. Meanwhile we've got the guys in Coots getting sentenced to six and a half years. Next one. This is a, now we're just getting into the regular news. RBI which is like the big mega corporation
Starting point is 00:08:57 that owns Burger King and Firehouse Subs and Tim Hortons their profits jump despite Tim Horton's slow sales growth. Tim Horton's grew 0.1% over the last year and they were expecting it to grow significantly
Starting point is 00:09:12 including the fact that they opened a couple hundred more stores or something like that. So even with all that, their sales only grew marginally. Here in northern Ontario, I haven't seen it Tim Hortons
Starting point is 00:09:29 in like 400 kilometers. You know what I've been seeing? Robbins Donuts. Nice. And Robbins Donuts, coffee has been. and delightful. Oh man, I miss Robbins' Donuts. No Tim Horton's though. That's, yeah, I missed one somewhere, but I haven't seen them.
Starting point is 00:09:49 That's good. But here, you've got this entire article making absolutely no mention of the temporary foreign worker program, frustrations with getting orders wrong, cockroaches and flies being recorded in the display case for the donuts, homeless people shooting up in the bathrooms and shitting on the floors. Doesn't even mention that lady who threw poop at the guy behind the counter in Saskatoon, Tim Hortons a couple years ago. It doesn't mention any of that.
Starting point is 00:10:24 It's all just, oh, we're going to talk about the growth and whatever else. None of the real life implications of why. Or just the fact they have crappy coffee, too. I mean, you go down all the stuff that way. I go, the only way you drink their coffee is with milk and sugar. And I'm a black guy. So I don't even go there. You're a black guy.
Starting point is 00:10:51 I drink black coffee. You literal. Anyways, it doesn't matter. All right. Okay. Well, you know what? There is a ton of stuff they could list off about Tim's. Full stop, yes.
Starting point is 00:11:04 And they didn't. And you go, why didn't they? Probably because Tim Horton supports advertising in the local medias and they do a bunch of stuff for kids and everything else. Oh yeah, absolutely, absolutely. And I'm feeling kind of bad now because I got tagged in this thing about a giant blimp that looks like a huge ass. And it's the world's largest aircraft.
Starting point is 00:11:28 Okay. But when you look at it, it just looks like a big old dump truck of an ass. So we went from Tim's to a blimp. Now that I found out you're a black man, I'm really sad. that I cut it out this week. I see where you're going. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:11:42 All right. Trump singles out Canada. Check out what this man has to say. It says for years by China, by Japan, by South Korea, by Germany, by everybody, by Canada. Canada's nasty. They are. They're nasty. People think Canada, they're nasty.
Starting point is 00:12:01 I love the people, but they're nasty. Nasty leadership. So anyway, he's specifically talking about the leadership in Canada, which he should have put in air quotes. And then you get, Clyde pointed this out. Shout out to Clyde do something. Here's the original version of the article that CBC covered. Trump calls Canadians nasty people during Las Vegas speech.
Starting point is 00:12:28 And then they updated the same article to say Canada has nasty leadership, says Trump during Las Vegas speech. See, they do this. and then they just quietly walk back however much they lie. Now, from the leader post, Regina Mosque resumes call to prayer. Remember we talked about this a little while ago, how they were doing like five times a day, they're doing a four-minute.
Starting point is 00:12:57 Three-minute, I think. The point stands. Get the point correct, too. Oh, you're going to be literal on the black thing, but when I point out it's three minutes, I was in, you're like, ooh-hmm. Well, I can't push back because it's a hate crime. So anyway, it got paused for a while, and then they did a survey, of which almost every single person who responded to the survey said that they did not want this to happen.
Starting point is 00:13:37 They did a survey of the surrounding area. But they said only two of the people who responded to the survey said it was specifically about the noise levels. so we're going to go ahead with it anyway. They didn't supply any of the metrics for the survey or anything like that, but they did say that the overwhelming number of people who responded said that they did not want it to happen, and then they just said, fuck you, we're doing it anyway. Now, Mark Carney reiterated he is Ottawa, rather,
Starting point is 00:14:12 is loyal to supply management system protecting dairy sector. So again, we've got Carney reiterating the importance of the dairy cartel. Now, for those of you, we didn't talk about it last week, but a former head of the dairy cartel in Canada is running as a liberal candidate in an upcoming federal by-election, which was why Jason Kenney finally found it safe enough to come out against supply management. And so, yeah, hooray for the dairy cartel. congratulations guys you just keep winning winning winning winning winning
Starting point is 00:14:59 and nothing good is ever going to happen to fix it Trump is canceling 28,000 trucker licenses held by illegal aliens in the states this is one of those Lord I've seen what you've done for other people and I want it for myself well good luck it's just a little bit of common sense it's just a little bit of common sense
Starting point is 00:15:28 Critter 65 says he needs some proof that you're a black guy you look pretty pale. I think he just asked you for a dick pick. Now, as far as drivers go this week, this is a drywall crew who
Starting point is 00:15:49 busted into a locked lot with no trespassing signs and dumped a full load of drywall pieces there. And it's the usual suspects. It's always the
Starting point is 00:16:07 usual suspects. 23-year-old Cambridge man is facing stunt driving charges after doing 116 kilometers an hour in a 60-kilometer an hour zone. Interesting thing. Comments were turned off. So I'm just going to assume that it was, you know, what we're all assuming. From Jamie Sarkinak from the National Post. Facebook ads for theme.
Starting point is 00:16:42 Now, theme is the. do word for opium. Is that what it looks like? As far as the plants go, yeah, yeah, yeah. So Facebook, they're literally advertising drugs on Facebook. But they get a, they get away with it because it's in a foreign language. So there's that. Caledon, Ontario, Brampton truck driver forgets to lower his.
Starting point is 00:17:16 dump box after illegally dumping a load of construction rubble in a field. His box got snagged on the hydro lines, which is what they call power lines out there, and rolled his truck onto its side. He was charged with multiple offenses. The next day, the same driver was caught on the same property, once again, illegally dumping. So there's the tipped over truck. Getting all straightened out. And then from OPP Central, same driver caught for legally dumping ways two days in a row.
Starting point is 00:17:45 When I was in Thunder Bay 2s, I was getting some work done on the, I'm calling it Frankenstein, Zane from now on, because anybody who pops the hood is like, what is going on here? And then I had Zane explain it, regardless, doesn't matter. So I'm getting some work done on it. And the guy had to run to a part store. I said, ah, could I come for a ride? I got nothing to do anyways. He's like, yeah, sure, so he hops in, and then we started talking. And he's like, oh, you want to see Ten City?
Starting point is 00:18:18 I'm like, sure. So we go downtown Thunder Bay and Sawton City. I'm like, oh, is that here? Thunder Bay? In Thunder Bay? All along the railway track. And I laughed. I said, oh, yeah, ours and Lloyd is usually around the railway track as well.
Starting point is 00:18:35 I'm like, was this here 20 years ago? He looks at me. He looks at me. He's like, 20 years ago. I don't even know about five years ago. But he's like, now I was literally, got out of my vehicle, walked into his shop, which is, like the front door is two feet from my vehicle.
Starting point is 00:18:51 And he looks at me, he goes, vehicle. I'm like, what? He's like, lock your vehicle. Like, right now? He's like, yeah, they'll stop. Jump out of their vehicle, check your doors. And if they're unlocked, they'll grab what they can and drive off.
Starting point is 00:19:03 I'm like, and this is a guy who's lived there his entire life. Thunder Bay. This whole country's gone to shit, dude. Well, I mean, you get out on the road, it's beautiful, you know. But you get into the urban centers. and the same story seems to be playing out across the country. Yep. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:19:26 Kevin says you need to drop an N-word. Won't be doing that, Kevin. You're black. You said you're a black guy. You know, this is not a track zone. What's your plan? Are you planning on backing up that way? What was the issue?
Starting point is 00:19:47 Like, were you trying to make a U-turn? Okay. Okay, that's all right Yeah, so that's the tow truck driver's body cam But yeah, dude got pretty fucking... We have tow truck drivers wearing body cams? That can't be. Must have just been his phone, too.
Starting point is 00:20:11 Well, it's on his TikTok account. But look at the way... It's too stiff. He's got two hands out in front of him, so it's a body cam. Okay, fair enough. You know one thing I haven't seen yet? I haven't seen anything crazy from the highways. I've got to be honest.
Starting point is 00:20:27 Oh, yeah? Nothing. I mean, I probably shouldn't say that out loud. I've got a long way to go still, but the roads have been fine. I mean, Manitoba's highways, figured out Manitoba. And actually ain't far behind them is Saskatchewan. Hoofda. Those two provinces' highways are something.
Starting point is 00:20:46 Then you get into Ontario, and yeah, it's 90 kilometers an hour, but at least it's a good highway. Wait, that whole stinking drive is 90 kilometers an hour? 90 kilometers since I left. since pretty much entering Ontario and I am about an hour from Sue St. Marie right now. It's all been 90. Oh, that's gross.
Starting point is 00:21:09 Yeah. The roads are at least good. Like you can easily do a buck 10 and have no problem, right? It's a bit windy and you got this and that but like overall you could be ripping through here and I'm sure people are. But yeah, 90.
Starting point is 00:21:23 Okay, first off, why not build a straighter road? even if you got a... Have you been through northern Ontario? No. You've never been? No. Oh. A little bit of time around Toronto and that's it.
Starting point is 00:21:37 You come drive it and you'll understand. Okay. They do have straits, but then they've got to come back to where all the people live and all where all the hiking and trails are. It's right along the north side of Superior. And then you get into some fun country. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:21:56 Interesting. But, uh, yeah, I just, I don't know. I never really saw the urge to get that far off the beaten path in Ontario. Well, it's not the beaten path. It's literally the one road that goes from west to east. I get that. But you have these magical devices that fly over top of it.
Starting point is 00:22:20 Oh, you got to drive it too, especially at this time of year, it is beautiful. We just went through my, when we bike 20 years ago, my favorite spot that I remember and I was telling the kids along the way I'm like I can't remember if it's I don't know if it's gonna be the one and then we pulled over the hill
Starting point is 00:22:39 and I'm like and there it is well it was so great about it it's just picturesque I'll put a picture up about it up on it so people can see it later today but it's just like you pull around the corner and it's down in a bay on Lake Superior
Starting point is 00:22:55 it's beautiful cool yeah and it's funny because when we biked it, I was like, I was 20 years younger. Maybe I was just, maybe it wasn't that pretty. Then I biked around, I'm like, no, it's that pretty. Oh, there you go.
Starting point is 00:23:10 There you go. I like that. Because who knows what could have happened in 20 years? 20 years. Maybe it's a shopping mall. I'm still shocked there's no campsite there. It's just like a pullover. You can go swimming on the beach, but there's no camping.
Starting point is 00:23:25 It's just like a little U-turn down in the bottom. just a little pull over no it's a cardigan thank you for noticing okay more drivers jazz sing 25 and you'll notice the
Starting point is 00:23:45 religious emblem hanging from the rear view mirror and this is just a clip of him driving like an absolute ass hat through residential areas through other residential areas through other residential areas
Starting point is 00:24:02 him doing over 200 in the oncoming lane on a double solid and here is our friend the Irishman We're not telling enough cunts to fuck off That's the problem you have You don't need to be out in the forest Doing yoga moves or eating at kai bowls
Starting point is 00:24:25 You're only fucking distracting yourself Deep down you know you're just running away From telling somebody to fuck off Oh I might go out and do a bit of yoga that they might fuck off by themselves. They won't fuck off by themselves. Remember this. No one ever fucks off by themselves.
Starting point is 00:24:40 Do you fuck off by yourself? You know you don't. Oh, I might interfere in that. Nobody's told me to fuck off. You know what you're fucking like? The world would be a better place if you went out and told five people to fuck right off for themselves today. You know who they are. They have you a snooker, doing a lot of shite you don't want to do.
Starting point is 00:24:57 And four people need to tell you to fuck off. You're ruining their lives, you're cunt. So be the change that you want to see in the world and fuck off and follow me. I'm delicious. Sean, you as a black man need to fuck off. Sure, Tuse. I think you're doing great. So this brings us to floor crosser of the week.
Starting point is 00:25:31 Ooh. We have a new floor crosser? With an asterisk. Hmm. So Larry Brock is resigning. and it was rumored, Brian Lilly wrote about this in like April, that there were people being offered all sorts of creative ways
Starting point is 00:25:50 to leave the conservative government, including some kind of a judicial appointment. And so it's being speculated right now that Larry Brock is going to ultimately end up there. Interesting. I remember us talking lots of, about this and how many were being approached back then. We haven't talked about this in months, like months and months.
Starting point is 00:26:18 Well, I mean, I, I've kind of got some grudging appreciation for the outside the box thinking on this, right? I mean, you look at it and they're just, they're like, obviously they did some whiteboard meetings where they were just like, what reasons could anybody ever potentially have to leave the conservative government? Not just across the floor, but just any reason at all that we could convince them that they are better off doing something else. And this is that playing out. It's quite clever.
Starting point is 00:27:05 Yeah, well, it's greasy as all hell. Yeah, but we've talked about liberals in this for a long time. Very clever. You have to admire it. I mean, this is the latest iteration of it. It just keeps going and going and going. Now, equalization.
Starting point is 00:27:24 Daniel Smith was proposing a milk toast compromise last week. And this week, we've got Mark Carney saying even that isn't going to fly. Well, we're not going to, I mean, we have an equalization agreement in place. Government rely on those formulas in setting, in setting, their policies and so that predictability and that financing is valuable and yes we're going to keep it in place the review is for 2029 is the next update so yeah the best we can hope for is 2029 in review tweaking it in 2029 three years from now we've got the potential to possibly tweak the equalization formula
Starting point is 00:28:13 because there are so many governments in Canada who depend on that money. You know where that money would be really well spent? Wherever the fuck I want to spend it. Wherever the fuck you want to spend it.
Starting point is 00:28:31 Wherever the fuck any of us whose money it is decide that it would be well spent. I love how you think if the government of Alberta got more money back. that they would give it back to twos and anyone else our government would find a way now in saying that you know the most interesting thing that i've noticed since crossing into ontario um the giant lake it it took probably until my these aren't conversations on the podcast these are conversations i've had
Starting point is 00:29:06 that albertans don't know how good they happen Sorry, you've come to the conclusion that we don't know or other people are saying that we don't know. Other people from Ontario are saying that to me. We don't know how good we have it. Correct. So should we send them a fucking thank you note along with half a billion dollars in equalization to Ontario? I'm just sitting in northern Ontario, northwestern Ontario. And I was assuming that they would get it or just be like, why are you guys so mad?
Starting point is 00:29:48 You know, like I was expecting a few of those questions. I got those questions in Manitoba. And as I go further east, that has been more apparent. That isn't what I've been getting at all. And I'm hoping I can get a few of them to talk about it on the podcast because I think it would be really interesting. But it's usually in conversations away from any recordable material. And the last one I had, it's like, you guys don't even have your own police force.
Starting point is 00:30:15 I'm like, yeah, no. He's like, you have no idea what you're doing. I'm like, okay. And then he's like, you're so. And then he's like, you're so small. Such a small little population. You don't know how good you have it. I'm like, interesting.
Starting point is 00:30:26 Sorry. Okay. We don't, in, in what respect exactly, that we don't know how good we have it? I don't think, I'm just telling you. Or the opportunity for prosperity? Listen, I just met this guy for a very brief thing. And I was trying to be very respectful to us. So I was just trying to ask, you know, like, and then he said that.
Starting point is 00:30:46 I'm like, well, I think Albertans are frustrated. And then he just was like, that was it. He didn't go any further. He's like, oh, maybe. And walked away. I was like, nobody cares. I've been waiting for somebody like, why are Albertans really frustrated? I just assumed back in the 90s when Quebec was having its referendum again,
Starting point is 00:31:07 somebody was just asked him, why are you so upset? Like the further you went west, that is. And they would have just been like, oh, this is why. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. that hasn't been the case so far oh i'll wait i'm gonna i'm still holding judgment because i haven't even got that far into ontario right but been interesting to watch yeah i it's i i would definitely want to drill down on that you know this idea that we have it so good here um and and a small population i was sitting there you know after i was thinking i'm like what does the population size
Starting point is 00:31:49 have to do with wanting change. Like, it's a huge chunk of people that want something different. So I don't know. It was the last conversation I had, roughly east of Thunder Bay, somewhere in there, very condescending.
Starting point is 00:32:08 He wasn't condescending me, he was just condescending towards the Alberta sentiment. And I was like, that's interesting. Okay. And I was told when I left for the trip, I was going to find more of this. And I was like, I don't know. I'm going to hold judgment.
Starting point is 00:32:23 Like, some of the nicest people I've met was in the podcast, and they're from out east, right? So, like, can't be true. But then, but then. Are you going to meet up in D.C.? Ah, I reached out. Well, D.C. reached out to me and I reached back out to him. And the problem is, is where he lives. I'm like, oh, man.
Starting point is 00:32:42 Yeah, Ontario. Well, I know, but Ontario is a giant freaking place. No different. You say, oh, you live in Alberta? Great. And then they're like in Fort McMurray and you're going to Lethbridge. Okay. You know, like it's, it's not like I'm just going to Ontario, I'm meeting everybody.
Starting point is 00:32:59 It's a big, it's a big place. And so I just assumed, you know, to me, Thunder Bay is a working man's town. I just assumed, you know, and it's rural when you look at it. I just assume it I find more of like, oh yeah, no, yeah, they're probably annoyed with what's going on in Ottawa. That isn't what I found. Now, we're talking about a handful of conversations, but I've been sleuthing it out. So I've just been asking, what do you think of this? What do you think of Alberta wanting to leave?
Starting point is 00:33:32 It's been interesting. I would really love to hear a full, full-length interview with somebody like that. I know. Just expand on everything. Just give me your perspective. Yeah, just tell me why. but I've also ran into oh no I won't and I'm like
Starting point is 00:33:51 oh I'm not gonna yell yeah if you have thoughts against it I'm I'm interested to hear it I'm actually really interested to hear it yeah I'll keep looking to the audience I will keep looking hopefully you can get somebody to bite on that yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:34:11 okay now for those of you who don't know maybe you didn't tune in last week or maybe you turned it off halfway through or something along those lines. Last week, we had Anthony Fauci citing the Fifth Amendment
Starting point is 00:34:29 108 or 111 times in a parliamentary or congressional hearing. And so, you know, I'm not going to show that video clip, but it was basically just like, but she called me on the counter. I plead the fifth. Saw me banging on the sofa.
Starting point is 00:34:49 I plead the fifth the whole time. And now they have voted to hold him in contempt. And if you fast forward. And if you fast forward. The yes or eight and nays are five. On the vote by proxy and for the record only the yays are zero, the nayser two. On this vote the yaser eight, the nays are five and the motion is agreed. So now Fauci is in contempt of Congress.
Starting point is 00:35:20 What does that mean to? Does anybody know what that means? Like, now where does it go? What happens now that Fauci is in contempt of Congress? Because I'm very curious, right? People said nothing would ever happen with this. Now you have contempt of Congress. Like, is it just a show trial?
Starting point is 00:35:50 Is there any trial? Is it just he can never work for government again? Okay. two tracks one is a full Senate vote under Senate procedure after committee votes to hold someone in contempt the resolution advances to a full Senate vote which needs at least 60 votes to pass a high bar in the chamber or the second is a direct DOJ referral okay but what whether to prosecute in which there's a Fifth Amendment question gets actually tested in court it's very likely extended
Starting point is 00:36:28 ended legal fights rather than a clean resolution. But what could happen to him? It's thinking. Legally on paper, the exposure is small. Realistically, the outcome is closer to nothing at all. Statutory penalty, if convicted. Well, you know how much the Democrats love things with statutory in them. it's a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $100,000
Starting point is 00:37:04 and a mandatory minimum of one month up to a maximum of 12 months in jail yeah so we we don't expect much then so worst I mean it's it's still fine it's just we don't expect anything too crazy I'm not nothing even like that even to find a hundred grand is whatever I mean to him not to us that would be a life sentence. Well, I mean, he made, his salary was higher than the president. It may even still be.
Starting point is 00:37:34 I'm not sure if he's still working for the government. This is interesting. Journalists questioned by police for investigating Cambridge professor. So there's a Cambridge professor. This is him pictured. Who got found to be doing a bunch of plagiarism. And so a journalist was investigating it. And so he had called the university just asking if he could talk to the guy or something like that.
Starting point is 00:38:04 And a complaint was issued with the police saying that it might be racially motivated. And so then Scotland Yard followed up with the journalist and said, you can't talk to this guy anymore. He's like, I'm a journalist. This is what I do. It doesn't really matter if it's difficult or uncomfortable for him. Maybe he shouldn't have fucking plagiarized. And so when this whole thing blew up, this dude tenured a resignation letter, which he publicly posted. And it turns out that it was 100% written by AI.
Starting point is 00:38:47 So the plagiarism guy couldn't even be bothered to write his own resignation letter. Yeah. So you can't fire me. I quit because I can't write. You're accusing me of not being able to write anything for myself. Well, you can't fire me. I quit. And by the way, I can't even write my own resignation letter. Now, I don't know if you heard anything about the airline strike on your travels. A little bit here and there. A little bit here and there. Excuse me. The stewardess is, sorry, one second here.
Starting point is 00:39:37 I'm going to. You're going to be okay, too? Yeah, I'm good. Just, you know, a little, you know how it is when you, like, you don't speak for several hours, and then all of a sudden you've got to talk a bunch. I don't know. You're just kind of just finding stuff to randomly garlalia.
Starting point is 00:40:01 So, Nenshi, here's him standing in solid. wearing a Canada shirt because of fucking course. I was happy to stop by the picket line at Y, Y, Y,C, and proud to stand with the flight attendants. I was also lucky to be there at the same time as their incredible president, Alia Hussein, and the bargaining committee. They are working very hard to get a fair deal, exclamation mark. everyone I met can't wait to get back in the air with a good contract because unpaid work won't fly. Oh, that was very well put. Very stunning and brave Nahed Nenshi.
Starting point is 00:40:49 See, the whole thing with this stewardess problem is that they get paid for certain blocks of their work. Historically, they would get paid for certain blocks of their work and not paid for others. And they said it wasn't fair that there was no pay associated with actual work that I've been doing, which is kind of just splitting a stupid hair. When you think about it, like let's say, Sean, I'm going to hire you for the day. I'll pay you $1,000 for the first hour, but that's it. You'd be like, okay, sweet.
Starting point is 00:41:30 Yeah, I'll work as long as you need. Yeah, you're going to pay me $1,000. bucks? Sure. You got me for the day. Technically, I'm only paying you for the first hour. And if you work 12, 13 hours, so be it. Right. And that's basically how the stewardess payment schedule worked. You could be okay. Yeah, I'm fine. Not only are you quiet today, twos, right? Bring this back up. Oh, you're quiet, quiet today. You got something in your throat. We can't call them stewardesses anymore. Their flight attendants.
Starting point is 00:42:14 You know what pilots call them? Air mattresses. I'm not a pilot. This isn't my joke. This isn't my thing. So maybe I should just continue calling them stewardesses. I'm not the one who, I'm not the one who came up with that.
Starting point is 00:42:37 Okay. So here's the deal they got. 13% increase as of October. 1st and then every January afterwards for the next few years a two and a half percent increase retroactive wage payment to January 1st, 2026, a new duty pay premium, a premium for all duty hours, which is the equivalent of another 12% increase. A health care spending account, a significant increase in per diem of 13% in 2026 and 2.5% every year thereafter and keep in mind that per diems are tax-free fifth week of vacation after 25 years of
Starting point is 00:43:24 service maternity leave top up to 17 weeks now flexible part-time program significant scheduling and quality of life improvements including one additional hour of rest at home base increased a minimum rest away from base of one hour out of partial shift trades premium payment when reassigned to an uncovered flight in a base reduced reduced date duty day maximum when working three legs or more. Payment when crew are faced with delay accessing a hotel room on a layover. That all sounds wonderful. In fact, I would say that that probably sounds a little bit extravagant,
Starting point is 00:44:03 especially considering the fact that it's an incredibly highly sought after job. They could, if you took the union completely out of this, could have reasonably said, okay, none of you want to work here for this wage? Fair enough. We have 700 resumes on my fucking desk right now. So we'll just take 698 of them and the two of you who changed their minds. That's the problem with the way unions work in this country is that you can't just go around it. They say you have to work with the people that you hired and there's nothing else to be fucking done about it.
Starting point is 00:44:45 regardless of whether you give them the fucking moon or not. And meanwhile, the cost of flights just keep going up and up and up. Because we don't have any, there's no competition. And the competition that we do have has to pay for an extra, well, cumulative, 25% salary increase retroactive to January 1st this year. For a job that they could replace with just about fucking anybody. Maybe me and you should become flight attendants. Sorry, stewardesses. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:21 Sorry, I'm in air mattresses. Well, I mean, in your case, you wouldn't be an air mattress. You'd be a black box. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Anyways. Did you get that? Yes. Carry on, too.
Starting point is 00:45:39 Carry on. So Edmonton Police Services posted this video and then deleted it. You typed it someone lived it. Online hate isn't just a comment. It hurts real people and arms real communities. Hate has no home here. They basically are saying that they're going to go after people for saying things like bad drivers are always blank people. Canada needs blank deportation now.
Starting point is 00:46:07 All of this stuff. Hang him slowly. It's about time for whatever. I don't know. It was blanked out. But basically just saying that if you're upset about. bad drivers in this country, they're going to come after you.
Starting point is 00:46:25 They deleted the post after it was an absolute fucking firestorm. And the government stepped in and said, you've got bigger fucking problems. Deal with those first. But in the meantime, if anybody from the Edmonton Police Services is just tuning in now, I would encourage you to rewind 15 minutes ago to where I was talking about all the bad drivers in this country
Starting point is 00:46:47 and how maybe we need a few less flip-flops driving class one trucks. Hi. Fuck you, Edmonton. I still enjoy Ammonton. You got to clean some things up, but it looks like everybody does. They literally, Sean, have put,
Starting point is 00:47:10 they've painted buses talking about their hate crime. Does that say C hate report hate? It does. That's in Edmonton? Yeah, and it's something 2, 2, 2, 2, 2. tips so obviously this is about me look at that it's two two two tips so yeah and then they go into the whole like real or perceived uh hate crime thing this is an interesting thing from global they call it an exclusive but i don't i don't know it's just they put together a big thing they're talking about
Starting point is 00:47:48 laurence bishnoy um who's the head of the bishnoy gang and goldy barbara who arrived in Canada in 2017 to become the Canadian head of the Bishnoy gang. And they go into all sorts of interesting details, including the fact that crimes by Indian student permit holders soared 8,800% between 2016 and 2024. So do you remember last week when Vesper was saying, do you have numbers? Do you have statistics on this? Do you have a chart on this? Here's the fucking chart.
Starting point is 00:48:29 And it's going to the moon. And if that chart isn't enough, here's another one. Look at that. It's the hockey stick. This is everything they claim the climate change is. Look at that hockey stick. So, yeah, 8,800% increase in student visa crime. Of which 97% were violent since 2016.
Starting point is 00:49:09 Nothing to see. Nothing to see here. Nothing to see here. Oh, I wonder if the Edmonton Police Service is going to get mad at us for pointing out that the Calgary Police Service has to have somebody speaking on a megaphone in Punjabi. One 70s, jail strike, walking the basement of the gunpowder. Now, for those of you who don't speak Punjabi, which is fair, I did dabble it in a little bit with dual lingo over the past few days, so I'm going to try and translate here. Fuck you, bloody bastard guy.
Starting point is 00:49:54 Did you want a double-double? I love flip-flops. Do not shake my left hand. It has poop on it. I cut a hole in the floor of my semi. We're the only ones joking about this at this point. Everybody else is just like a fucking enough already. Yeah, if you haven't cut, well, I don't, I don't,
Starting point is 00:50:36 I don't, uh, I don't need to, uh, tell our audience. They know what you're doing. Here's Natasha Gonic. Oh no, the Emmington police will be going after global news for this article. that's a great point Natasha well I mean it's just it's just one thing after another and it's Zane said
Starting point is 00:50:58 how about crime is 300% increase with Indian students in Canada no no no 8,800 percent increase that's not a 3,000 or 300% increase it's an 8,800 he had 3,000 yeah it's bigger than that
Starting point is 00:51:18 it's almost triple that it's an 8,000 8,800% increase. Now, this week in irony. So this dude, Faye Johnson, is the executive director of
Starting point is 00:51:39 Momentum, which received a 555,000 end change grant from the federal government. And this dude is going on a tour, calling it Ask a Trans Person Anything, where no question is off limits,
Starting point is 00:51:56 Q and A, and the Society of Queer Momentum is doing this cross-country thing. And Amy Hamm goes to go into it. And she's specifically listed as being blacklisted from it. Half a million dollar grant. Ask a trans person anything. No question is off limits. And they're specifically singling out people and saying, you're not fucking allowed to come in here. The article further goes on to say,
Starting point is 00:52:33 that there were about 30 people who went to this. Now, it's just one of a cross-Canada tour. But Vancouver is the gayest city in Canada. And if you can only get 30 people to show up to this thing, at like ground zero, I can't see it being very well-received in Moose Jaw. I don't think there's going to be... 500 grand went to that.
Starting point is 00:53:08 I mean, nobody cares. $55,000. Even in Vancouver, nobody cares. Nobody cares. It all got spent on his hair. So, anyway, yeah. Ask us anything. No question's too difficult.
Starting point is 00:53:29 Fuck you, you can't even come in here. Tennessee is moving back the fee required. I'm going to read that. Want a pet raccoon? Tennessee lawmakers consider making it easier. Who the heck? Is pushing on lawmakers to get a pet raccoon? Are they a good pet?
Starting point is 00:53:51 No, no, they're not. They're trash pandas. Yeah. And then they get out. And it's funny because they talk about domesticated raccoons in this. They're not domesticated. There's no difference between one that you keep in a cage and one that roots through your garbage. There's no domestication of them.
Starting point is 00:54:13 It's not like the Ouroc, which over thousands. of years we domesticated and eventually turned into a cow. Oh, yeah. People, people mentioning the ginger. That's actually a really good point. The second grossest thing about Fay Johnston is that he's a transvestate. Kids are coming back from swimming. Okay, so maybe we don't talk about Fay Johnston anywhere.
Starting point is 00:54:45 He can't hear anyways. He's just wondering when we're done so that I can come see whatever they've built on the beach. So carry on. Well, that actually sounds like a lot of fun. Do you need to go? No. No, no. They know. All right. Now, why do we keep having wildfires?
Starting point is 00:55:04 Sean. Forest mismanagement, pyros. If you were to listen to CBC or CTV or global or any of our politicians, why do we keep having forest fires? Climate change. Climate change. But I just, I sat chatted with somebody, not on the podcast. Again, these have been conversations
Starting point is 00:55:25 that have been having off air, who is in forest management. And I just asked her, point in blank in Ontario with all the fires. Forced mismanagement. Everybody knows. Yep. I mean, I should say the people in the no, no. And so here you have Canada's mainstream media. Nothing that Canada can do. Experts push back on Trump's criticism of Canada's wildfire response. Short answer is there's nothing that Canada can do about these major wildfires that are causing wildfire smoke to travel thousands of kilometers. Now, if I were to just do a quick little search, carbon tax occurs exactly zero times in this article. We spent the last decade being told that we're destroying the planet.
Starting point is 00:56:15 There's no planet B. We're a bunch of dicks. And the reason why we have wildfires isn't because we're catching these people literally starting the fucking. fires, but because we like to have our pipes not freeze in the fucking winter like the ungrateful pricks that we are. And after the carbon tax, the consumer carbon tax was rescinded, now when Donald Trump is saying that we're being a bunch of assholes with our forestry management, we have experts saying that there's not a fucking thing we can do about it.
Starting point is 00:56:46 And it's completely in God's hands. And we are absolved of all responsibility for any possible outcome. regarding forest fires, and this article doesn't even mention the possibility of taxing us until things get better? What in the actual fuck? John? It's the same old song, two's.
Starting point is 00:57:13 Climate change is killing us all. We're going to tax us. We're going to do nothing with the tax money, but just take it out of hardworking people's hands. The people who work around forestry know it isn't climate change. They know exactly what it is. And yet... They talk about experts.
Starting point is 00:57:33 Yep. They talk about experts, right? Wildlife experts, blah, blah, blah. Managing Director of Climate Science at the Intact Center on Climate Adaptation at the University of Waterloo. These are the experts they get. If you want to have an actual fucking expert, get some guy with a sturdy fucking face, who's got that big helmet with the face shield flip. up and just
Starting point is 00:58:01 finished throwing 10 billion fucking cubes of water at some giant fucking fire. You want an expert on this stuff? You get an actual expert. Not somebody who sits in a fucking office and reads articles that they
Starting point is 00:58:18 make it pass back and forth to each other. One of the most frustrating things... Thank you, Pat Taylor. I was trying to say arsonous and I couldn't spit the word of I said pyro regardless. Arsonist. Yes. Carry on.
Starting point is 00:58:36 Inevitably, whenever they're talking about some kind of an expert in any of these things, they're talking about somebody who has read a lot of documents that somebody else who's an expert, who has written a lot of documents and read a lot of documents, and it's just a big academic circle jerk. They don't ever get anybody like what you're talking about. It drives me up the fucking wall. You want an actual expert? like it'd be like if they wanted to do an article on podcasting
Starting point is 00:59:07 and rather than get an actual podcaster they just got somebody who wrote a few papers on podcasting never done it probably doesn't even listen to them just put together some gobbledy gook word salad bullshit and that's what they do for every fucking topic well could we get Sean Newman on to talk about podcasting if we're looking for an expert? No, no.
Starting point is 00:59:32 We're going to get somebody with marginally slightly softer hands. We're going to get somebody with a media degree. That's what we're going to get. So, Smith is pushing back on Nenshi, and Nenshi came out of whatever fucking hole he crawled into to spout this bullshit off. And we're going to fact check it. He says, Daniel Smith is right.
Starting point is 00:59:57 She and I are nothing alike. I'm not corrupt and I work for Albertans, not for wealthy insiders. I would like to remind everybody of when Nenshi was gunning for mayor the first time around and his most significant donors were builders and the taxi cab cartel that used to dominate Calgary. And then when he became mayor, he ended up singling out Shane Holmes because the other builder, were donating. And then he actually had to settle out of court for that. And when Uber tried to enter Calgary,
Starting point is 01:00:38 he mandated personally from like on fucking high that they weren't allowed to. And so Uber's just operated illegally in Calgary for like several months until just the bleeding was so widespread that he was forced to acknowledge that this was the way forward. And he was not going to be able to sustainably shelter. the cab cartel that donated significant amounts of money to his run for mayor. So he says he's not corrupt, but off the top of my head, there's two perfect examples. He says he believes in democracy for everyone, not only for separatists. Last time I checked, everyone gets to vote on this referendum, not just the separatists.
Starting point is 01:01:24 But I like where he's going with this. We should have a vetting process for this referendum where you, would have to say, okay, are you a separatist? Yes or no? And then you get to vote. That would be fun. Let's do that. Let's do that, you fucking idiot, Nenshi. Have a strong track record of growing the economy and helping get
Starting point is 01:01:46 pipelines built. I don't pick fights. I win them. What fucking pipelines have you built? What, what fucking pipelines? The water pipelines in Calgary that absolutely felt a shit. That's the only pipelines I was thinking of. That's the only pipelines you've had.
Starting point is 01:02:04 anything to do with on in any official capacity need nenshi you dumb fuck he passed 11 straight balanced budgets budgets with the lowest residential taxes in the country the tax is tripled while he was there what he's talking about is the lowest mill rate which isn't the tax that's the multiplier applied to your assessed property value to determine how much taxes you pay and so if you have really valuable real estate like calgary for example you can have a low lower mill rate and still end up multiplying by a very large number to make high fucking taxes. And as far as the 11 straight balanced budgets, you're literally mandated, you're not allowed to not balance a municipal budget.
Starting point is 01:02:49 It's illegal for you to not do that. You do it by default. That's a participation award. Congratulations. It's a classic NDP thing. They want to be padded on the back for doing something that, literally they would have to do regardless. He says he'll fix health care and education systems
Starting point is 01:03:10 that this premier has broken so badly. No, no, the premier, despite sucking on a lot of fucking subjects, did not break health care and education system. What he's talking about is deciding with the unions, just like he did with Westchette. Anytime there's any sort of a picket line for any union, the NDP always, always, always shows up for it. and that's got to be a little bit suspicious.
Starting point is 01:03:36 Like don't you think there was at least some point in time where maybe perhaps they looked at something and said, I kind of feel like the unions kind of pushing their luck a little bit here. Maybe they're just not totally on the right side of this. And maybe what they're asking for is a touch unfair. Never said that. Never said any of that at all fucking ever. And if they're going to answer the same question the same way all the time
Starting point is 01:04:04 no matter what, then their input is completely fucking meaningless. He'll never take away... Am I taking from Mashup 220? Then not a whole lot's really changed. Okay, Vesper. No, no, no, no. I don't mean it that way. I don't mean it that way.
Starting point is 01:04:25 I just mean... Nenshi's still doing Nenshi thinks. Drivers still doing driver things. Okay. I was waiting for something that I missed. That was like, oh, that's interesting. something you missed. You want to see what fucking changes. You want to see what
Starting point is 01:04:41 got missed? So Nahed Nanchi who cannot help, but shit talk to separatists every single time he opens his idiot fucking mouth underneath that lazy, weird fucking eyeball his. Polling Canada. I would vote
Starting point is 01:04:57 in favor of Canada becoming an American state. All disagree. 72% agree 20%. Here's the agrees among the areas. And here's where it gets broken down by party. So this is, you would vote in favor of Canada becoming the 51st state. Liberal party voters, 14%.
Starting point is 01:05:21 Conservative party voters, 31%. NDP voters, 32% of NDP voters. Are you saying 32% of NTP voters? Are you saying 32% of NTP voters would vote in favor of Canada becoming the 51st state? That's literally what I'm saying. research co-sor poll done on July 22nd you want to know what's changing apparently
Starting point is 01:05:49 32% of NDP voters are not only sepies because isn't that neat by the way we actually have a slur they have a slur for us now we're a small tiny fringe minority but we're also important enough to get our own slur we're sepies
Starting point is 01:06:08 we're sepies but we're meaningless we're insignificant nothing we say has any significance and no importance because we're such a tiny fringe minority with unacceptable views but at the same time we're noteworthy enough to warrant our own slur and so for anybody from the nDP watching that's our word and 32% of nDP voters are not only sepies but they've are 51st staters. That's interesting. I mean, isn't that? I would have assumed that that would be like zero.
Starting point is 01:06:57 Like honestly, zero percent. I'm actually even surprised there's 14% of liberals, if I'm being honest. The NDP, Sean, are not a serious party. I see that. And so, yeah, 32% of NDP voters want Alberta to become the 501st state. Now, this is an update. You remember we talked about on July... This lady who slapped the teenager.
Starting point is 01:07:28 While she was in the United States legally and perfectly encompasses... Say that five times fast. Perfectly encompasses unique New York. The Human Torch was approved for a bank loan. She perfectly encompasses everything about the shittiest aspect of... Canadian everything is now being deported.
Starting point is 01:07:54 And now she's got to go to the third world shithole that she came from. So she's coming back to Canada. Yep. Minnesota man charged for using homemade spike strip to keep kids off his lawn. Yep. So he couldn't keep the damn kids off of his lawn. They were cutting across it. They were cutting across it to the point where they were wearing a path.
Starting point is 01:08:29 to like get to a park nearby. Yeah. And he was upset. Yeah, well, you damn kids get off my lawn. But it's not even like they're just randomly playing on his lawn. Like they're wearing a fucking path through his lawn. And so he made a spike strip with screws and put it up in his yard. And now he's facing, oh, shoot, it was, he was charged with one gross misdemeanor count
Starting point is 01:08:58 of setting a spring gun slash pit. fall slash deadfall or snare which carries a potential maximum of 180 days in prison or a thousand dollar fine. I think that's great. You know, people put a lot of time working effort into their lawns and it's hard to get them nice and green and it's one thing to just
Starting point is 01:09:25 I mean, play on the lawn. That's what it's there for. But don't wear a fucking path cut and cross it diagonally. You're just being a dick. Yeah, because if your kids, watch out for a spike to trip. Yeah. You know what? Back when I was in high school, we had the cops called on, me and Colby, if you're listening, for playing basketball out in the front street on their driveway.
Starting point is 01:09:52 But he had a couple of subs in his car where player in the music. It's like two in the afternoon. The cops pulled up and the neighbor, who was a complete nutter dick, had called the cops on us. Instead of just walking out and saying, hey, could you guys turn the music down? Really? Could you just turn the music down? You could have just said that. We said that.
Starting point is 01:10:11 Oh, yeah, sure. Called the cops on us. Cops showed up. We're like, really? All right, sure. Cop even laughed. He's like, uh, you just turn it down a little bit. We're like, yeah, sure.
Starting point is 01:10:23 Not a problem. Yeah. He'll have been a spike strip guy. That's all I'm saying. Well, I mean, here's the thing. Like, there's a time and place for the spike strip on your lawn. Right? If they're driving across your lawn, sure.
Starting point is 01:10:39 Yeah. Well, they were biking across his lawn. I don't know. That's totally fair. If you've got a nice lawn that you're proud of and some kid runs across it, throwing a ball around or something like that. Into the spike strip.
Starting point is 01:10:53 No, no, but just be like, hey, look, they appreciate this nice lawn. They get a little bit of fun use out of it or whatever, right? That's when you're out of line and you're being a dick. Tews, would you ever put a spike strip on your lawn? If someone was wearing a pat, through the grass diagonally, I would abs to fucking lootly put a spike strip up.
Starting point is 01:11:20 Okay. Or maybe just string a really tight rope across. And then I'd say, it's a clothesline. And oh, oh, now you can't bike across this? Oh. Tuesday is a spike strip guy. Okay, fair enough. A situational spike strip guy, okay?
Starting point is 01:11:43 I was thinking... Electric fence is the answer. I was saying, I think Kevin, sharks with laser beams is the answer. Well, I imagine for you, Big badonka donks is the right answer for just about everything, Sean. All right. Becky Anderson, we've been tempted to do this in our room.
Starting point is 01:12:11 It looks like we got a whole bunch of Spike Strip folks here. Okay. Lower-priced Australian beef could help stabilize Canadian market. Oh, boy. Yeah. So this whole article by Global. You got a clip of Sylvain Charlebois. Shout out to the food professor.
Starting point is 01:12:29 The food professor, yeah. Basically, the price of Canadian beef has gone through the fucking roof. And this article is just talking about how Australian beef, which is now making its way into Canadian markets, being cheaper, could do a lot to bring those prices down and make things more affordable for consumers. If you add competition to the market, it will make things more affordable for consumers. Do you remember half an hour ago when we were talking about Mark Carney being staunchly in defense of dairy supply management? We've got eggs. We've got chicken. We've got airlines, which we were already talking about.
Starting point is 01:13:17 You've got telecoms. You've got no fucking. Sure. We are going to take beef from the other side of the world. world and it's cheaper than our beef twos. How broken of a country are we when we have a giant area
Starting point is 01:13:33 where cattle just roam and you can get beef anytime you want and beef from the other side of the world is cheaper. You can go all into the dairy cartel and everything all you want. I don't want to go there. It's like what the heck is going on? Well, with
Starting point is 01:13:49 that, it's the certification you need for the slaughters, right? There's only a certain number of government and approve people who can perform the slaughters. And then because of that, that's where the major choke point is. Sure. I'm just saying this is something Canadian should fix. And we have all the raw materials here to fix.
Starting point is 01:14:14 Yes, but we have government legislation that inhibits us from doing common sense solutions. And because of that, you've got... Australian beef is cheaper than our beef and is now entering our marketplace. You know how wild that is? No, it isn't wild at all. It is wild. This is in a case of we're unable to figure it. It isn't coming from Montana.
Starting point is 01:14:38 It's coming from Australia. Yeah. So it gets slaughtered, gets immediately climate controlled, refrigerated, frozen, whatever it is. And ship-in-ship-up. It gets put onto a ship, goes diagonally across the Pacific Ocean, gets off in Vancouver,
Starting point is 01:14:54 gets put on a train, gets lugged down to a distribution center, and from there, it gets fed out to the local supermarket. Remember, don't. And they're able to do it at almost the third of the price. Don't we have a red tape reduction minister in Alberta? How is that going? How is that going?
Starting point is 01:15:16 It's low-hanging fruit and self-congratulatory, mostly bullshit. It. Mernah, Minister, Red, tape, reduction. If you look at the things that he has done, it's been largely performative. Oh, sorry, not McNally, just Nally. So there's his mandate. Accomplishments.
Starting point is 01:15:42 We're taking action to protect the livelihoods of hardworking Albertans in the construction industry by introducing timelines and rules for payments and liens. The Ministry of Red Tate. production. First thing on their website is introducing timelines and rules. The Ministry of Reding Redd.
Starting point is 01:16:07 New legislation will help keep Albertan safe by ensuring a violent offenders must live under their own names. Find consumer alerts about activities that pose threats to the marketplace. Use our enforcement search tool to learn if an individual of business owner was not following consumer protection
Starting point is 01:16:23 laws. The Ministry of Red Tape Production has an online search engine for people who aren't following the rules. Access information and resources for the Access to Information Act. This is them. This is. Okay. Scroll down.
Starting point is 01:16:41 Scroll down. Latest news? Oh yeah. Click on the first one. Let's see. Let's just see. August 6th. Improving Alberta's Surface Rights System.
Starting point is 01:16:49 Okay. Surface Rights Advisory Panel has now been established that strengthened property rights by improving the province's provinces, provinces. surface rights system. Okay. Okay. Finish. Finish.
Starting point is 01:17:04 So they've established a committee to look at this. The Ministry of Red Tate production is adding more. Has, yeah. Literally the first thing, the first thing on their page was them talking about adding new rules. This is our Ministry of Red Tate production. Yeah, you think you do, you know, like when you said low hanging fruit, I'm like, I don't know. you what's what i just i i assume reduction of red tape you're you're you're you're sniffing things it's just oh we remove this this problem we removed that we were over
Starting point is 01:17:39 we were redundant in here so we remove that yeah so the last time i looked at it it was um alberta's government is cutting recycling fees on washer fluid containers by almost 80 percent well keeping plastics out of landfills. When I, I, I found some kind of like a, a, kind of a bullet point breakdown when I was looking at this in some, you know, previous instance. And it was like, okay, we got rid of this stupid rule. We got rid of this stupid rule. And we got rid of that stupid rule.
Starting point is 01:18:18 But like, you know, simple things like, remember the clunker dunker that dust did? Yes. And how it was because they couldn't do a lottery. because a lottery can only be used for OPEX, not CAPEX, or CAPEX, not OPEX, one of the other, right? You know, completely ignoring the fungibility of money. And so they had to go with a clever workaround to deal with this stupid red tape regarding how nonprofits can spend income and what they can spend it on. Why does that rule even need to be there in the first place? That's what I was expecting when you clicked on.
Starting point is 01:19:03 It was something like that, taking out mundane rules or redundancies, and that's not what I see. Anyways, carry on. Well, no, it's never what you see. This stuff just, this is how it always seems to go. So that's the beef. Now, this is an interesting development. Mark Carney announces our new contract with Telesat will help the Canadian Armed Forces
Starting point is 01:19:28 communicate more effectively and securely across North America. creating up to 2,600 good jobs and strengthening our defense industry. This is what building sovereign capacity looks like. Sovereign capacity, a $2.3 billion Arctic military satellite contract. Do you know who is going to be launching these satellites? SpaceX. Do you know who Doug Ford canceled the contract for rural internet access? Starlink.
Starting point is 01:20:05 Starlink. So they literally hired a middleman to get Elon Musk indirectly to do all this shit after they paid out the cancellation of the contract to do this shit. And it gets even worse because Telesat has US $1.7 billion of debt maturing in December with nearly $450 million more coming due in 2027, according to a lawsuit filed Wednesday by a group of the company's creditors in the Supreme State. of the Supreme Court of the state of New York. 1.7 plus 450 million. 1.7 plus 450 million, which adds up to almost exactly the amount that Canada just awarded them.
Starting point is 01:20:58 For being the fucking middleman over a contract that they canceled with Elon Musk to get Elon Musk to do it anyway. When we talk about reducing red tape, this is what we're talking about. That isn't red tape. I bet you if you look at Telasat and either there's a Brookfield connection there? Sure. Or Mark Carney is buddies with somebody on a board there or something like that.
Starting point is 01:21:32 That is something, like there's... It's just $2.3 billion. Anyways, it doesn't matter. I just, I guess in red tape in my brain goes to, part of it goes to waste, stop wasting taxpayer money. Well, that's, that's a bit different. Red tape is when you have stupid rules that serve no purpose. It's a little of column A and a little bit of column B. No, but when you talk about red tape.
Starting point is 01:21:59 You're hiring a middleman. You're hiring a middleman. Get rid of the middleman and go right to the source. That is red tape. There's that. It's redundancies. Red tape is when there's stupid rules. people have to follow that
Starting point is 01:22:13 We can get in the weeds, well, it's fine. It's fine. It's not the weeds. Tews you're right. You're so right. Okay. Awesome. Thanks.
Starting point is 01:22:20 All right. Clip that, put it out. Two's is right, folks. Isn't he the greatest? He's bed on black. So Spider-Man came out. Have you seen Spider-Man yet? Yes.
Starting point is 01:22:33 We took the kids to it. Nice. I'm jealous. I have not seen it yet. But luckily, I didn't see it in Columbia, where somebody in the movie theater farted so bad that they had to
Starting point is 01:22:45 evacuate the entire screening of the movie. How is it even possible? Well, Colombian food probably isn't that dissimilar for Mexican food. He sharded, right? I would start along that trail around to see what they sharded. They sharded. That's the only way. I don't know. Maybe.
Starting point is 01:23:08 Maybe. But just imagine, okay, you saw it. I haven't yet. Is it good enough that if you sharded your pants, you would stay sitting in your chart rather than get up and fix it and do something about it. Would I? If you shat your pants
Starting point is 01:23:25 while you were watching that movie, you'd be like, no, no, no, I can wait, it can wait, it can wait. No, I'm pretty sure I'd be up and out of there. Okay, all right. Because I feel like if that happened while I was watching Avengers Endgame, I probably would have just been like, it'll be fine, it'll be fine, classic Shaw online.
Starting point is 01:23:45 It'll be fine. also they couldn't figure out who did it but I don't think they really tried too hard because the person who did it would have been the one guy still sitting in his seat watching the movie after everybody left
Starting point is 01:24:03 on a completely different note you know what Marvel's done like they've done some crappy movies some crappy TV shows yeah but the cameos in Spider-Man the newest one they're just cool like it was just cool they've done such a good job of
Starting point is 01:24:24 building a universe and uh I can't figure out why DC can't figure this out like this isn't rocket science this is this is not that hard it's rocket raccoon sure but I mean like
Starting point is 01:24:41 they just keep fumbling the ball and all I want DC to do is just just to do like it's not carbon copy because it's obviously different heroes and different villains and some of the villains in DC are unreal. And they just bungle it over and over and over again. Well, yes and no.
Starting point is 01:25:01 Remember Joker, the first one? Yes. That was a hell of a good movie. Yeah, but that was never going to be in a giant universe. Okay. All right. I was going to point out the Batman, but you'll be able to come back with the exact same thing I just said.
Starting point is 01:25:18 No, no, but the problem is, is that they have all these separate movies that are off. Marvel used to have this too. If you look at the Fantastic Four movies, there's like seven of them. I'm like, what the heck are they doing? Just put it into the universe.
Starting point is 01:25:34 There's probably three of them. Four of them. No, no. There's Fantastic Four. Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer. There was the reboot. And then there's the new one. And then there was the new one.
Starting point is 01:25:46 And then there was also the unreleased one that they did just to retain. the movie rights for it as well. So there's five. Yeah, just, Marvel's had their, their blemishes. And they've done some really crappy movies.
Starting point is 01:26:02 But overall. But, you know, when you look at the 2007 Incredible Hulk with Edward Norton, that was the first one where they started just tying them together, even though, even though I will say that they kind of just accidentally did it,
Starting point is 01:26:17 because the whole, the post post credit scene in Incredible Hulk was just an afterthought. They were like, hey, why don't we just do this? And they didn't even know when they got Samuel L. Jackson
Starting point is 01:26:32 to come in at the end of the first Iron Man in that post-credit scene, they had a whole bunch of different dialogues for him to do, and then they just went with the one that kind of sounded best. And that just happened to be about the Avengers.
Starting point is 01:26:47 Well, it's been well done. Whatever they've been doing, well done. I think the problem is is that nobody on the D.C. side of things is having fun. Hmm. It's possible. And they're picking
Starting point is 01:27:06 just like Supergirl as your follow-up to Superman. It doesn't make any sense. Doesn't make any sense. And Superman, Superman's a tough nut to crack regardless because you've got a guy, like, did you ever watch One Punch Man? No. No.
Starting point is 01:27:25 Oh, it's just this, so it's this anime about this superhero who kind of just goes through all these existential crises because he can just beat any foe with one punch because he's just so incredibly powerful. And it's boring and he hates it. Because no matter what the guy's doing, he can just go up, punch him. And that's it. And that's pretty much Superman. Yeah. Becky, she asked, is Superman any good? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:27:56 I don't know. It was okay. I like the guy they cast. I thought he was better than I thought he would be, but like overall. Yeah, especially after Twisters. Twisters. Was he in there? Yeah, he was the douchebag guy.
Starting point is 01:28:11 Yeah. You know, the one that was the corporate dude. Man, I can't remember it. Obviously, I trust you. Anyways. How much we got left to's? Okay. Arson suspect in Spokane wildfire previously killed his father for asking him to do the dishes. In 2010, this guy killed his dad for saying,
Starting point is 01:28:34 Is this legit? What's that? This is legit? Yep. And he got busted, causing one of the big wildfires that's going on in Spokane right now. And then you still have people going off about fucking climate change. This, you know what? It's funny enough.
Starting point is 01:28:55 We're going to play it out anyway. So this woman's This is your wheelchair user and the lift breaks at the train station This was Manchester Pickett. And when I arrive The lift is broken
Starting point is 01:29:03 And I'm in a wheelchair And the elevator And the elevator doesn't work And then What happens is that she gets the guys at work there To spend 45 minutes
Starting point is 01:29:20 Getting her up the stairs Because the elevator doesn't work and she's in a wheelchair, right? They keep trying all these different things, and then eventually they give up, and so she just gets up and walks up the stairs, and they carry up her wheelchair. Because she's not actually disabled.
Starting point is 01:29:41 She's just woke and virtue signaling. And she got these poor bastards to spend 45 minutes trying to get this wheelchair up the fucking stairs for her, and then she was like, ah, you know what, it's just taking too long. I'll just walk. I'll just walk, Sean. People are strange.
Starting point is 01:29:59 Hey, cop Pulls out a taser on a guy Oh, no And lit him on fire Oh no, dude's fueling up Dude's fueling up And I don't know what the deal was But the cop comes up to him
Starting point is 01:30:18 And for some reason decides he needs to tase him And in the process of tasing him Lights him on fire with the gasoline How does the rest of this video play? It's on fire. So yeah. Hey. It used to be stop or I'll shoot.
Starting point is 01:31:00 And now it's stop or I will light you on fire. Wow. We could use a bit of that in Canada. Okay. Naked dressing is spreading and it's making things awkward. Barely their outfits are moving from the runway to weddings and business conferences. And so this is an example of this woman who wore this to like a board meeting or something. Yeah, okay. That seems like a poor choice, but okay.
Starting point is 01:31:30 You're such a loser. What? You, okay. This is awesome. I don't know, I don't know who came up with the idea to encourage this, but it's pure genius. We need to normalize this. Women should be actively encouraged to dress like this all the time every day. Sure. And whoever, whichever genius came up with this idea to just normalize men, or women. Fuck. What was that,
Starting point is 01:31:58 this? We're moving along. Sports desk. You would not believe how much stuff is in the sports desk this week. We've got all kinds of interesting things. Tour de France is cracking down on women patting their bras because it makes them more aerodynamic. And they have here a whole bunch of diagrams of the airflow resistance and everything like that.
Starting point is 01:32:34 And apparently, if you shape your breasts correctly, you can reduce drag to the point where you will save one and a half seconds per mile. And so they have determined that this is illegal. And so they are checking all of the bras of all of the competitors for the Tour de France for the women. I don't know Kevin before you ask I don't know if they've got it posted on Indeed or anything like that you're just going to have to search it out yourself Okay
Starting point is 01:33:12 This is a neat sport I found It's soccer but with boxing gloves So you know how soccer is just like this incredibly pussy sport Well apparently these guys are doing soccer But also they beat the shit out of each other And I think I think it's got some real potential. I would have loved to see that during the World Cup.
Starting point is 01:33:37 Now, did you see this? Reverse hurdle. Show it one more time for the audience, too. All right. So this is from last week's game where the riders beat the Eskimos. Reverse hurdle. And other interesting thing that happened with this game.
Starting point is 01:34:12 So Ed Hervey is the head coach. And he said in a pregame interview, this is going to piss some people off. By the way, I had the audio clip for this, but it was really quiet because somebody just recorded their TV. This is going to piss some people off. But what we're trying to do is get back to doing things the Eskimo's way. You know, just on CFL, I haven't seen a Rough Rider jersey yet. That surprised me. Oh, really?
Starting point is 01:34:41 I've seen a lot of bomber fans. Well, you spent a lot of time in Minnesota. No, even in Ontario. I've found bomber fans. Nobody with the Saskatchewan Rough Rider. I'm sure now that I've said it out loud, I'll see one, I'll have to snap a photo. Go say hello.
Starting point is 01:34:58 Well, I mean, they are the Great Cup champions. So there was that. This is interesting. So from USC, they've got a guy here now, and he just had his first college practice, a guy by the name of Booby Feaster. You know he's going to be good.
Starting point is 01:35:24 His name is Boobie Feaster, Sean. I want his jersey. I would totally wear that jersey. All right. Fury as UK's only all-female chess team promoted. So they moved up to like the Premier League in the UK chess organization. But they were forced to recruit a male member because that league has a rule that there has to be people from both genders. And so the all-women's team, because of the way the rules were written, which was to encourage women to be more.
Starting point is 01:36:06 prolific in chess are now required to have a man on the team. Well, that's equality. Yep. Also, so if you guys
Starting point is 01:36:22 still have cable, the Microsoft Excel World Championship is celebrating its 10th year and it's on ESPN 8 The Ocho. So you can go check that out. What do they do? The Microsoft Excel World Championship.
Starting point is 01:36:39 Okay. What do you do? I mean, what are you confused about? What do they do on Microsoft Excel? That's the beauty about Microsoft Excel, Sean, is that you can do whatever you want. Okay. So how do they determine the winner, twos?
Starting point is 01:37:00 Oh, okay. So it's not in this article, but I'm going to, I'm going to, nerd out here for a minute. Okay. So there's a points-based system. They get a bunch of challenges that that people put together that they think are going to be really successful.
Starting point is 01:37:16 One of them was kind of like an RPG thing that went horribly wrong and like the high score was like 29 or something like that. You get graded out of 100 based on your ability to parse the data and get specific results out of it and come to the right conclusions. And so if you get this, you get this many points. And if you get that, you get that many points. And the strategy over the past several years has become people focusing on ways to set it up so that they can answer multiple questions with the same setup, roughly speaking.
Starting point is 01:37:50 So that they're not just redoing it. If you don't know this about two's, he loves Microsoft Excel. And it just stands the reason you would find that there is a championship for Microsoft Excel. Carry on. That is the most bizarre thing. You would... How is that bizarre? Only you...
Starting point is 01:38:07 Only you... Only you would find that interesting. No, people sit here and go, oh, yeah, sounds too alien. Nobody's watching anyone do Microsoft Excel. Nobody. John, I get the fact that we've been doing this for a while, but we've literally talked about this championship on the show before. Right over my head.
Starting point is 01:38:28 I don't remember that. I don't think anybody else remembers that either. Not a chance. Okay. Lots of big... in the WMBA this week. Downhill Angel Reese going at a former chairman as well and Alyssa Thomas couldn't have collected on the second attempt.
Starting point is 01:38:43 Canada. Angel Reese didn't think twice. Short on the early look. Angel Reese left alone. I'll see her dreams and Eden find her all points. Give her a heat check. My Ryan Howard for three. I love how on this last one,
Starting point is 01:38:56 there's nobody within like 10 feet of her. She's doing so badly that they don't even need to worry about trying to block the shot. Look, she's just inside the three point line, and the closest player to her is standing on the edge of the key. That's how badly she's playing, that nobody even bothers trying to block shots in the NBA because nobody makes them anyway. Now, we're going to go for a minute to Mexican baseball. Epa! Epa! And, wow,
Starting point is 01:39:42 there are there for by Danri-Basquez and the Torrillo Amador salt to everyone. There's a show grand in the terrain of the
Starting point is 01:39:49 game of the Toros Mobile Park. So, for those of you don't speak Spanish, um, they all came storming in like bowls. Uh, what happened was there was a cut-off play
Starting point is 01:40:01 between third and home. Dude gets tagged. And then immediately throws a right cross at the guy who tagged him. And then all hell breaks loose. and everybody comes in swinging. And this is the latest in our version, or in our iterations of awesome sports
Starting point is 01:40:24 that none of us have ever seen before. This is a demo derby where all of the demolition cars are also pulling boats. I don't know how, I don't know what... I gotta find me one of those. One of those demolition derbies that aren't just like your stereotypical ones.
Starting point is 01:40:50 Those look fun. Okay. WMBA. Half-time shot for a million dollars. Dude falls over, not even just a bit of an air ball. It lands like in the middle of the key. This is probably one of the top six most pathetic shots in that game. Now, Clay Travis, the guy who found it outkick,
Starting point is 01:41:31 he's actually, so one of the things going on with the NBA, WMBA right now is this whole trans debate. and the WMBA has done a great job of basically becoming wrestling but for current social events topics and so oh Natasha absolutely I would love to give you a hand with that you just let me know anybody else needs any help yourself was that a pickup line Natasha I'm like is that is that two's you know Hey, twos, I need some help with some spreadsheets.
Starting point is 01:42:11 Anyways, carry on. Well, I can help you with your computer, Natasha, but I'm not on the market. Anyway, Clay Travis jumped in on it because you've got, you got, you got, Sophie Cunningham, basically saying that. Are you blushing, twos? Are you blushing? Oh, I just thought it was really funny. I'm probably just turning red because I thought it was funny. Oh, okay, sure.
Starting point is 01:42:45 All right, too, all right. Anyway, Sophie Cunningham said some really normal common sense things. And then some of the coaches are saying, oh, I'd love to have a trans person on the team. And so Clay Travis is now offering, because they're saying, well, men and women are just physically indistinguishable. And so it wouldn't be an issue, which, by the way, is implicitly acknowledging that they are men. So he's offering $10 million to a WNBA team to go head to head against a high school men's team, boys team, I guess. And he's also trying to get an expansion team started in Nashville.
Starting point is 01:43:28 He wants to call them, he wants to do an all-trans team, call them the Nashville balls. Because they're all going to be trans players. And it's basketball. and then they all have balls. And despite the fact that they're all trans players, Nashville Balls was the best name they could go with because Predators was already taken. Happy news.
Starting point is 01:43:56 Wasteworkers help winner find Binned million dollar or million pound lottery ticket or Euro ticket. And they found it? Yes. So what happened was... That is lucky. She got it, thought she won, she scanned it, and it said something like prize.
Starting point is 01:44:13 cannot be paid out. And so she's like, oh, well, fuck. I guess it didn't win. But it was kind of ambiguously worded. And so she threw it out. And then she gets home. And then her mom or her sister or whatever was like, your numbers won a million pounds.
Starting point is 01:44:30 You won. And she's, oh, shit. Races back to the store. But the garbage had already been taken out. And the garbage company had already taken it to the dump. And so then. She gets a hold of them, tracks them down. And it was recent enough that they were able to go back and find the bag and get the ticket to her so that she could claim the prize.
Starting point is 01:44:55 And apparently she's on the hook for the labor costs associated with it, which probably won't be an issue because she just won a million pounds. Which is roughly what Nahed Nihitinchi weighs. But the point is that the garbage people helped her out. Yeah. I mean, that's lucky on so many levels. Um, okay. Community news. One more happy.
Starting point is 01:45:20 Samara Weaving has been cast as Emma Frost in the new X-Men movie. So for those of you who don't know who Emma Frost is, she's one of the leaders of the Hellfire Club. And she's like January Jones played her in X-Men first class. So this is exactly the kind of woman you would expect to be a smoke show who, in light of recent film trends, would probably be cast as somebody gross. And instead of that, we have this lady being cast as her.
Starting point is 01:45:54 This is the lady who is going to be Emma Frost, and I'm here for every second of it. We're actually going back to a time in our lives where attractive people are being cast in movies, Sean. And that's pretty happy news for me. Fair enough. Joe Mama, is she an A-list actor? Not yet, but she's about to be.
Starting point is 01:46:17 Community notes, too's. I did all of the rest of this, and you didn't even do community notes? I showed up here. I put on my best face. I've had tourists and hikers staring at me wondering what I've been doing this entire time. It's been interesting. I'm here. Okay.
Starting point is 01:46:38 I made it. All right, fine. I'm happy to be here. I'm happy to see all the people chiming in. Interest-based communications course. So Articulate. dot ventures slash iBC that's vans crows um interest-based communications we've been talking about it on a weekly basis but the gist of it is is that if one of the most effective communicators you
Starting point is 01:47:02 could ever hope to meet is putting on a seminar seminar to help you communicate better ironically enough i screwed that up uh then you should look into it um upcoming dates august 31st is September 2nd, October 12th to 14th, November 9th to 11th, and March 22nd to 24th. We need to take, why didn't we take this out of the community notes yet? Citizen Vigilante. I didn't even know it was in there. Fractures in Peace. Drew Weatherhead's New Book.
Starting point is 01:47:41 It's the second one after Fractures in Love. And it is available now on Kindle and paperback And this is still your Italian Amazon link But people know that it's out All right You can buy the second books out
Starting point is 01:48:00 And a quarter euros From That's right From Italian Amazon And then And then When the audio book comes out On Italian Amazon
