In the name Allah, Rahman and Rahim, al-Hanah,
al-Nah, al-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a.
Al-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a,
who guided us to Islam and blessed us with the gift of the Salah.
The daily connection to our Lord.
Peace and blessings be upon our beloved Father Muhammad,
Sallahu'll-a-a-a-a-a-a-slam,
his family, and his companions.
My dear brothers and sisters, how often do we rush through our Salaf?
We're getting who we are standing in front of.
How often do we complete it without feeling anything in our hearts?
Yet Allah, Sufahanao He Himself describes the believers as,
certainly, what the believers has succeeded.
They, who are during their prayer,
of they are humbly submissing.
This is Sura 23.
El Muhlinun, the believers.
Aya, one and two.
because today I want to share with you five simple steps that are firmly rooted in the Quran
in authentic sunnah five steps that can help you taste tranquility in your salaa
so step one is understand who you are standing in front of understand who you're praying to
because you're not praying to the air we know that we look down at the ground when we pray
subhahna Allah why do we do that it's a form of humility right you're standing before who we have to
understand who we're standing before we can't say i understand how to pray salah i understand how to
have focus understand how to have pushur if you don't even know who you're praying at
thought of tranquilly starts with awareness and it's not just about performing movements
you're standing before the lord of the worlds all the worlds
just our world all the world the universe the whole gal everything and the
prophet of allah a leo sallam said when one of you stands in prayer he is conversing with his
lord and so mahomed we have to know who our lord is and inshallah we'll leave that to another
video and another another episode but we need to understand who we're standing in front of you're
standing in front of the lord of the world you're standing in front of someone who created you and
created everything that you witnessed and everything you witnessed and everything you
you see and you taste everything in this universe.
In imagining this, each and every time,
it help us build a better connection to our prayer.
So imagine each time you say,
Allah, al-Aqqa, you're declaring that there is nothing else.
Nothing else matters more than Allah sabahana-ho-ta-a-law.
If we truly believe that,
wouldn't our hearts become still?
Who would be jumping around worrying about our next?
business move on our next business meeting that we have to worry about.
Oh man, I got to go on for work today.
Guess what? It's time for Fudgeer.
I might have made a mistake yesterday in doing this.
I don't care anything about that job because guess what?
If I get fired from that job, is it going to help me in the next life?
We talked about that.
Having a connection with Allah Sabahana-ho-Talha-a-ta-da.
This all ties back into it.
And Allah-Sabahanahua-Talahsa'a-ha-ha-ha says, in the Quranan.
He says, in...
establish prayer for my remembrance.
Establish prayer for my remembrance.
This is Sura Taha, Sura 20, Aya 14.
And remember, a Salam is a dialogue.
And if we realize that Allah sabana-hu-ta-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-l watching us,
listening to us, our focus will naturally increase.
Imagine you're standing in front of
one of those prison guards, they're watching you.
You're not going to be acting out.
You're not going to be thinking about all these different things.
You're going to be trying to stay in uniform, as quiet, and as strict as you can be.
Of course, I hate that I have to use the example, but the example is that you think about it.
If you can do this in front of a human, why are we not doing this in front of the Lord of the World?
The Lord who created those humans, who created us as humans as well.
And we have to remember this at all time.
Our second step is prepare properly before Salah.
So we can't expect to Afkoshua if we rush into Salah, distracted and careless.
Preparation is spiritual and physical.
No one makes Wadu and perfects it, then prays to Raka, focusing completely on them, except that
paradise becomes obligatory for them.
shows us that wudu is not just washing our limbs it's purification of the soul take your time
in your wudu don't rush don't just splash a couple no splash a couple of drops of water on you
all right i'm done all right all right allah a look that's not how this works you're ready like to the
master you why because you didn't get ready on time you know that we pray at okay you pray asser at
what time all right well i'm gonna leave 20 minutes or
I want to be at the master before anybody else.
You think about it, you want to be at the master before anybody else.
And Wadu is a purification of the soul, as it is the first step to your prayer.
So let the heart calm before you begin.
And you think about how everybody is just like, hey, let's just go ahead and get this over there.
but during our prayer let us find rest from the world because the world is a traumatic place and it's a very crazy place that you're living inside of the dunya is a crazier place
but when you get into your sala what happens when you get into your sala your sala your sala should be like a bubble
Salah should put a bubble around you
where if you are
people are screaming
then they're doing these different things
and you have all these thoughts running to you
this bubble should be Salah
and step three
ties into this
and it's going to be during your prayer slow down
and reflect on what you say
reflect on what you say
don't just worry about
No, it's not how you recite.
This is not how you worry about your prayer.
This is not how you connect to your prayer.
The best way to connect to your prayer is
is taking your time.
Taking your time throughout your prayer.
Not rushing through it.
One of the biggest reasons for a lack of tranquility is rushing.
and the prophet
sallu alexand said to a man who prayed too quickly
go back and pray
for you have not prayed
you prayed your prayer way too quick
he prayed your prayer way too quick
and many of us do the actions of prayer
but our hearts are absent
let's take a moment
to reflect on the opening
of our every single sala
and that is Surt of Fatya.
The very first ayah
in Surt of Fatya
is
all praise is due to
Allah, Lord of the world.
Do you realize
that in every sara
Allah, Allah, Samhannahu
and Heself responds to you?
The Prophet,
Salah, a lai,u,
Sallem said,
Allah said, I have divided
the prayer.
I, e.
Surat al-Fatihatiah
between myself and my servant into two halves.
When the servant says,
all praise is due to Allah,
the Lord of the world,
al-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-a-a-a-a-a-l.
Allah,
God, Svah, Allah, himself says,
my servant has praised me.
How is it that you cannot feel tranquil?
You cannot feel tranquility,
knowing our Lord,
subhanahua-a-a-a-a-a-speaking that to us.
Slow down.
Calls between ayas reflect.
Don't just say the verses.
Don't just recite the ayas as if it's nothing.
These ayas are heavy.
They should be heavy.
You should feel them.
You should not be like,
al-hando-lilah,
no.
It should be,
al-h-h-l-llah-l-allah,
Raghmane,
Raheim.
Malik, you know,
me.
You know,
abud,
and I believe.
You should be feeling the verses.
You should be understanding it.
And this is also a part of our fourth step.
And that is eliminate distractions.
Sometimes distractions can get into the way.
Sometimes distractions can get into the way.
Distractions break the heart's connection with Allah,
subhanahua, and, this includes physical things.
Like your phone ringing, the room being noisy, as well as mental distractions.
Before Salaf, leave your worries behind.
The Prophet Salah, Allah, Allah, Allah, Hew Salam said,
when the call to prayers made, Satan runs.
But Shatana comes back when we are heedless.
So protect your prayer by praying in a clean, quiet place,
turning off your phone and clean and clearing your,
mind and yes it is okay in certain situations it's okay in certain situations you know
you have a child that's running around you're not going to tell them to be quiet because
guess what they're being commanded by Allah subhahua what's to do that why what is the divine
hekma behind that why are they being commanded to do that the reasoning behind it is it's a test
it's a test that's all it truly is it's a test from Allah subhanahua what'sa
testing you testing your heart
testing you to see is he really or is he or she really going to focus on their prayer and realize that
Allah subahana huatala is greater than anything in this world he is greater he is greater and when we
take the time to remember that Allah subhahua tal is greater than any of our fears any of our worries
any of our anxiety any of our depression anything that we have going on with in our lives
Allah Subhahana-hu-ta-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-s made.
We think back upon how we talked in one of our previous episodes,
but one of my previous talks, we said that Allah-subhanahua-a-a-a-ha has given us a book
the Quran.
What do we do with it?
Do we just read it at night?
Do we just read it in the morning?
Do we just read it at specific times of the day?
Or do we read it before and after every single one of our prayers?
Do we perform our vicar, our adqar before and.
after every single one of our prayers.
Or do we just decide, you know what?
I'm going to go talk to a family member.
I'm going to go talk to this person, then ask you.
I'm going to go talk to this person.
I'm going to go get on my phone and start scrolling.
I'm going to go finish watching what I was watching and doing what I was doing back to work.
No.
Forget these things.
Because ultimately, your job is not going to testify for you on the day of judgment
and you're standing before Allah's uponana was out.
It's not.
It's not going to testify for you.
It's not going to say, hey, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, man.
I got you.
Don't worry.
It was your job.
It's my fault. It's not my fault. No, it's not how this works.
You have to take account for what you did, and if you decided to rush in your prayers, you can get back to work, what's the ultimate reason?
Because we talk about connecting ourselves to Allah, to Allah, we have to do that.
Both physically and mentally. We can't just do it physically, and we can't just do it mentally.
We can't be praying in that and nasty clothes.
Gen. Build clothes.
What I mean by gentle clothes?
clothes that attract the Jinn.
He has to be wearing clean
garments to pray
to worship Allah's upon. And
inshallah, we'll have another talk
about this, inshallah soon.
But we move on, and our fifth step
is going to be make dua
for quchshu.
So yes, ask Allah for help.
You can't achieve tranquility
on your own. Even
the Prophet, Sallu
a lai,u'll a laioresellam, the best of worshippers
amongst this unna, used to
ask for Khashua. Among his duwai, what, work? Oh, Allah, I seek refuge in you from a heart that has no kushu.
Remember, Kishua is not a switch. You can't just go into prayer mode and be like,
thing, kishua on, or you can go into a room and turn a life switch on. That's not how this works.
Kishua is a gift from Allah, subhahana, and, but like any gift, you must ask for it, and work toward it.
You don't just get a random gift for any reason.
You don't just sit on the couch every single day
doing ridiculous things or being a terrible person
or doing any of these things
and expect for you to get gifts.
You have to work for it.
You have to ask for it.
And Allah is Mahanahu, Tala, says,
and those who strive for us,
we will surely give them to our ways.
This is Sura, 29, I have 169.
So if you struggle with distraction, don't give up.
Strive for it.
And Allah's abhanahua will open the door for us.
The main thing that we have to always remember is that Allah is always there for us.
Inshallah, we will do a quick review and a dua to finally finish up here.
I want to go back over the five steps that we talked about.
So we have our first one, which is know who you're standing in for us.
You are standing in front of Allah,
subhahanahu.
The king of all kings, the creator of all creators.
You only have content creators,
while Allah,
Allah, subhanu'u'a'a'a is the creator of all creators.
Step two is prepare yourself.
Physically and spiritually before Salah.
Don't wait until the a-an goes off to start preparing yourself.
Prepare yourself 10 minutes before the al-a-a-da-a-da.
Because when you're in this state of purity,
when we're in this state of remembrance of Allah's-upana-a-ta-a-a-a-a-a-a-ha, you realize
that Allah,
subana-o-sa-a-a-a-la has created me for a purpose.
You remember that right now I'm in a state,
and I'm in a state of purity,
what should I be doing?
What could I be doing to please Allah,
subpoena-a-wa-a-a-step three,
slow down and reflect.
Understand and internalize the words.
Not just sinking it with your lips,
not just going to have...
what anna sanna, not a la,
mean, slobidi, no, this is not how this works.
You're not just living with.
You actually know what the word
means. You know what each word means.
You understand what Allah's apparel with Allah.
When Allah's apparel to Allah talks about
Jahed and you're just like, going on
about my prayer.
Are you going on like that?
Because if that's the case, you don't have a connection
with Allah, and definitely not what the thing.
Inshallah to Allah, we will understand this deeper.
shah
shan all
something up
the fourth
step
is remove distractions
both inner
and outer
why I said
inner first
instead of saying
outer and then
inner
inner is the most
important
the world
we have so many
distractions
going on
with our head
of so many
times
we're like
oh man I need to
write down
this idea
oh man
I need to do this
talk
oh man I need to
do this later
oh man I need
what am I going to
have for dinner
tonight
oh man I need to do this
oh man I need to do this
oh man I forget
No, you start with your inner.
Because if you do your inner, your inner is cleared, your outer becomes easier to clear.
When your outer is cleared, now you're thinking about how am I going to clear the outer.
Guess what?
You just added a whole other thing to your inner.
Supra-al-ah, you just added something else to your inner, the word of all.
And finally, ask Allah, subhahana-a-a-a-a-a-a-hoshua in presence of the heart.
And you feel present within this moment.
you feel present, you feel as if I am here right now.
Allah,
so upon all right, I gave me this gift and I need to use it
because I am in a place right now of what.
I'm in a place of what?
Does anybody know what I'm in a place of?
I'm in a place of sincerity.
I'm in a place of humility.
I'm a place of humbleness before my Lord.
The presence of our heart is also what matters.
Inshaal, I'm going to give you one final reminder.
And that is that
the Prophet of Allah,
al-a-h-sallah said the first thing a person will be held accountable for on the day of judgment
your salah if it is good the rest of their deeds will be good as well think about it just imagine
how important your salaa has to be so the fact that you can do all of the good deeds you can do millions
of good deeds within your life's man imagine you live until 80 years old right imagine right now
you're you're 25 years old and you live up until the point that you're 80 years old
60 something years, 55 years worth of this.
But guess what?
None of your deeds were accepted because of your prayer.
Because of your Salah, because of your connection to Allah,
so treat every Salah like it could be your last.
That one prayer done with sincerity and tranquility could be your path to genoa.
I want to give you a visual before we end as well, inshallah.
imagine every time before you pray
imagine in front of you
what do you believe it's in front of you
in front of you you see between your eyes
you look you see the Kaaba
you see the Kaaba in front of you
behind you see the angel of death
because you don't know when he's gonna come
he's just wait there he's waiting
you don't know when he is going to come
to take your soul
return you to Allah's abhanaradha
and then you look on your right and you see jinnah you look on your left and you see jahannam and underneath you you you see the sara you see the sara
thinner than a hair you see this underneath you as if you are standing on it right now within your prayer you know that if i if this is my last prayer and i mess up in my prayer i'm not doing good in my prayer i could fall i could fall
either down
I could fall to my left
the angel of death
could take my soul
and I can no longer be here
to fix my prayer
to be better
remember these things
when it comes to that
yeah Allah
make us amongst those
who have humility
in their Salah
make our hearts firm
upon your obedience
and grant us the sweetness
of being close to you
I mean
isakmal al-Qa-hairen
for listening
there Allah
to give us a better
understanding
a lot for us to have better for sure and make us all better believe us to give us all our sins
and give us our sins and mercy ameen thank you very much al-a-oha-sama al-a-sama
and ala-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-aqaqaaqaqa.
