Starting point is 00:00:01 Bismillah, Rahman, and al-hameh, al-hameh, Rhabelal-Alam, and al-Alih, and al-hah, and sahbehi, and man, and wala. Assalamu al-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a to forgive us and our shortcomings and to get to his mercy not only in this life, but mainly in the next. I pray that everyone is doing well today, and I ask Allah, to continue to place Barrava within our days, within our worship, but within every act that we do,
Starting point is 00:00:33 and to ask Allah, Supperahua'u, to allow for us to only do it for its sake. My dear brothers and sisters, today we gather as a Ummah, as a community, as fellow brothers and sisters in Islam, to discuss a vital aspect of our spiritual journey to Allah, Suhphanahua. And that is the importance of admitting our
Starting point is 00:00:57 mistakes you know in our lives we are going to encounter situations where we falter we whether it is in our personal conduct our relationships or our worship recognizing and admitting these mistakes is not just an act of humility but it is further than that it is a crucial step towards personal growth and spiritual development you know supran Allah as human beings we are inherently flawed we are made to be flawed and a Allah suhphanahuata has created us this way. The Prophet Muhammad, Allah, Allah, a. Sallah, al-a-u-sallam said,
Starting point is 00:01:32 all of the children of Adam are sinners, and the best of sinners are those who repent. You know, so in this hadith, this is, he is reminding us that making mistakes is a part of the human nature and the human experience. However, what distinguishes the believer is their response to these mistakes.
Starting point is 00:01:54 Instead of hiding or denying them, we must confront them head on. You know, Sapan Allah, the surface level of admitting our mistakes involves recognizing when we have done wrong. And this could be in our daily interactions, such as speaking harshly to someone or neglecting our prayers, whatever the case might be. But acknowledgement is the first step. And the supplication taught by the Prophet Salah Allah Allah al-a-u-u-salam is a beautiful example of this acknowledgement. as He, Sallah a. a. a. w. S.a.a. said, O Allah, Allah, I have wronged myself much, and none forgive sins except you. So forgive me with forgiveness from you and have mercy upon me. Supon
Starting point is 00:02:37 Allah. You know, this supplication encapsulates the essence of admitting our faults and seeking forgiveness. And, you know, moving beyond the surface, we must dive deeper into the impact of our mistakes because every action has consequences and our errors can affect not only ourselves but also those around us it can not only affect ourselves and those around us but it can affect our afterlife you know for instance neglecting our prayers can lead to a weakened connection with allah suhanna hua ta a while failing to treat others with kindness can damage relationships and allah suprana He says and establish regular prayers at the two ends of the day and at the approaches of the night. For those things that are good, remove those that are evil.
Starting point is 00:03:34 So just thinking about in this ayah, Allah, Supperanah emphasizes the importance of rectifying our actions and understanding their broadest, implication. You know, and at the core level, admitting our mistakes leads us to sincere repentance or sincere tovah. You know, repentance is not merely a verbal acknowledgement. It requires sincerity, a heartfelt intention to change. And Allah suhaphanahua-ta-a-sa-a-sa-a-ta-a-said, and your Lord said, invoke me, I will respond to your invocation. So, Sura a Ghafer i.a 60. So this promise from Allah, subhaphanah, encourages us to turn to him
Starting point is 00:04:20 sincerely, seeking his forgiveness and mercy. You know, true repentance involves feeling remorse for our actions, making a firm intention not to return to those mistakes, and taking accountable steps towards
Starting point is 00:04:36 improvement. And, you know, another thing I also want to mention is that my brothers and sisters, as parents and as believers, as people, we must remember daily to look deeper than the surface level. You know, as a person, as any person, any human beings, upon a law, we always look at the surface. We always look at why is it that, you know,
Starting point is 00:05:00 I go to tell you to clean your room, or I go tell you to do this, or I go tell you to do that, but you don't listen to me, right? But truly, we have to look deeper. We have to look past the surface. We have to look past the surface level. We have to go on a deeper level. And past that, we have to go to the core level.
Starting point is 00:05:17 And so upon Allah, some mistakes that we make can be surface level. You know, maybe you yelled at someone or maybe you did this or maybe you said that or whatever the case might be. So upon all, these things can be fixed by a sorry and repentance or toba to Allah subhanna, hu,ahua. But on a deeper level, sometimes it may take extra effort. it takes extra effort and that's what Allah subana-hoiata wants you to do. Maybe these things happening to you are a reminder or a means of clear or a means of purification for you. Maybe it's a means of Allah subrana who is Allah saying you need to improve. You need to
Starting point is 00:05:56 use these mistakes that you have made as a means of improvement. Not only do not only do you apologize to the person you may have hurt or the people or the collective group, you seek repentance or you seek toba from Allah subhannahua ta a and you promise not only to yourself not only to the people but mainly to allah suhahua that i promise i will never yeah i will never commit these mistakes again i will improve and i will get better that is what it takes sometimes it doesn't take a simple apology so it doesn't take and i'm sorry and then that's going to fix everything and you know the clouds are going to come back out sometimes that storm is still going and sometimes it's going to
Starting point is 00:06:39 take that improvement. Sometimes it's going to take that work in order for these mistakes to truly be forgiven. You know, and, you know, the role of forgiveness in our journey is very important. You know, as forgiveness plays a crucial role in our journey of admitting our mistakes. So, you know, not only do we seek Allah, Suhpana-hoa-ta-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a's forgiveness, but we must also learn to forgive ourselves and others. You know, it was reported, that the prophet of Allah Allah Allah Allah will seek forgiveness hundreds of times in a gathering, right? And this practice teaches us the importance of humility and the need to continuously seek forgiveness, both from Allah, suhphanahua, Allah, and those that you might have wronged.
Starting point is 00:07:31 And these, inshallah, Allah, I will explain these four steps to effectively admit our mistakes, that we can take, you know, and the first one, which is the most important one, is self-reflection, self-reflection, regularly assessing our actions and intentions. You know, supran-a-law, journaling can be a helpful tool for this. You know, sometimes writing these things down, getting it out is very important as well. And of course, whenever we want to talk to anyone, whenever we want to do this, it's good to have companions, it's good to have friend companions, but it is also mainly. the most important, subhanna-ah-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-talk to him.
Starting point is 00:08:13 He will listen, he will not, you know, he will not ignore you. He will listen the whole time. So remembering that as well, but, supran-allah journey-wing can be helpful for this as well. And number two is seeking knowledge, or as we have been talking about these last couple of talks, subhanna-ah, that is seeking ilm, you know. Learn about the teachings of the Prophet of Allah, Allah, Allah, al-a-u-sadlam. Learn about the teachings of Islam. regarding repentance and forgiveness, you know, and making dua.
Starting point is 00:08:43 Dua is the step three, Sapan Allah, and that is use the supplications that were taught by the Prophet, Salah, Allah, Allah, He was Sallam to seek forgiveness and guidance. Engaging in good deeds, counterbalancing our mistakes with acts of kindness and charity as good deeds, erase bad ones, sopada Allah. So, my dear brothers and sisters, am meeting our mistakes as a profound act of humility any necessary step in our spiritual journey, from recognizing our eras at the surface level to understanding their impact
Starting point is 00:09:16 and ultimately seeking sincere repentance. We must embrace this process wholeheartedly. So my dear brothers and sisters, let us remember the words of Allah, and the teachings of our beloved prophets of Allah, Allah, a.m. As we strive to improve ourselves and seek his forgiveness,
Starting point is 00:09:35 may Allah, supranahu, ta'a, guide us all to a lot to us all. admit our mistakes, forgive us our sins, and grant us the strength to transform ourselves for the better. Amin. We ask Allah's upon our Hewata'a for forgiveness of our shortcomings and mistakes to help us to admit our faults and guide us to the path of righteousness. Grant us the strength to seek your mercy and improve ourselves daily. Amin. And we're acho do that one al-h-h-h-h-homdilah of the Lord of Alamine. And aslamu. And, of your
Starting point is 00:10:05 Allah, and Allah, and Allah, and Al-Berakato.
